that's you make your way through the old testament you see god speaking to his people and leading his people and you start to study the the different prophets and oftentimes they were social outcasts in many instances and you have to remember that even though they were given a prophetic voice and the mouthpiece of god they were also human like you and i and you'd see them be in very severe places of isolation in their life and have to undergo different types of suffering and persecution and even being jailed and locked up and in the innermost courts of the prison as we read in jeremiah's case and one particular instance as the praise team just sang if you read a little bit of the commentary on that verse he was thinking about quitting doubt and weariness had slipped in and he said all of my friends have turned away from me i'm trying to help this nation out i'm literally giving a divine revelation from the creator of this world and no one wants to listen to me i'm locked up in chains and i can't get anyone's attention i think i will just quit but right as he got done just speaking these words he said something just began to kindle up inside of him and he said i i still have to tell this truth because it's like a fire that's just shut up in my bones [Music] god's spirit is just moving inside of me and no matter what the circumstances may look like even if everyone else around me turns away even if it's my friends and even if it's my family there's a fire that's down inside of me that's living and breathing and we see this foreshadowed to the new testament on the day of pentecost when our fire tongues of fire just went out so maybe you're here tonight and maybe you're maybe you're engulfed in flames as you walked in here with full dominion or authority but maybe you just crept in here tonight maybe you crawled in here but i believe just right now at the onset of this sermon that if you maybe it's just a little flame maybe there's not much left but i i believe if you'll just stir around in your heart just a little bit say god i know i came in here weak tonight i know i came in here heavy laden with some burdens tonight i know i might feel isolated and maybe my friends and my family let me down and maybe they did and maybe i'm down to my last hope but i just feel like there's just a little flame that if you'll just kindle it just a little bit if you'll stir it around just a little bit i believe that holy ghost fire can get a hold of you and i can believe he can begin to move right where you're at in this very moment and if you believe that why don't you give him a handclap of praise as we celebrate this holy ghost fire that's living and breathing and burning inside of us keep that same spirit as you make your way back to your seats and just remain standing with me i'm going to read our verse of scripture and then i'll let you be seated since we already prayed turn with me to the book of joshua chapter 1 verse 3 and we'll kind of bounce around throughout this book but only one verse of scripture as we get started joshua chapter 1 and verse 3 it states every place somebody say every place that the soul of your foot shall tread upon that have i given unto you as i said unto moses i'll read it one more time it's short i think we've got time to just go through it one more time every place that the soul of your foot shall tread upon that have i given unto you as i said unto moses i want to minister to you for a few moments this evening on the subject title put your foot down look to the person that you're right i'm not good with directions and say put your foot down but i also want to give you a subtitle that you can look at the other person tonight a subtitle that's a question that i want you to ask your neighbor but also ask yourself and say what's your next step what's your next step you can be seated across this house put your foot down [Music] and what's your next step this phrase put your foot down this idiom this figure of speech that we use we all are familiar with it means to use your authority to stop something that is currently happening or to stop something from getting worse that is potentially taking place and the etymology of this phrase this expression is thought to have originated in the 16th century but it actually became popular and common in the 18th century it is observable that when you just hammer your foot onto the ground or your stomp your foot on the ground it means to demand someone's attention it it also means to express a strong demand of something if you set a rule or a certain principle and demand others to obey it then you are said to have put your that was that was pretty good you are said to have put your foot down you are firm in doing something so something that is taking place that you don't like and you might have tolerated it for a little bit you you might have let it take place for a little bit to see that it has passed but you will have now reached a point where you are sick of it you're tired of it and it's not going to take place anymore on your watch so you are said to have put your foot down and one only has to do a quick search of this phrase and you can see all different types of scenarios in our interpersonal relationships of how you can put your foot down and and times when you need to put your foot down for example and i know you'll say hurry through this in relationships if your significant other spends more time with their friends and they they seem to want to do that more time spend more time with them than you then that might and probably is a good time to put your foot down and say hey hey what's up here we're going to have to establish some things before we move forward in this relationship or or or maybe you're talking to someone or dating someone what whatever the situation may be but the communication isn't equal and you send a text and you do everything you can to communicate with that person in a in a in a reasonable amount of time and that other person it seems that they'll text you back the next day or or a week or uh you'll you'll you'll text them something and and then you see that they've posted on social media that's ever happened to you guys when you're talking to a girl or something but then you see that they've posted on social media like hey what's up here i i i text you and i never heard anything back from you you know you might want to put your foot down in that particular situation and and bring that to the forefront because that relationship is not going to last very long if there's a certain expectation in communication or or maybe it's a a married couple who you know we've got to have more romance in our life and keep that fire kindled as i just spoke about a little bit ago we we've got to have we've got to make purposeful time together to have a date night and you know get exchange flowers and chocolates and and all those things we we can't just binge watch netflix every weekend we we got to keep this relationship strong and we we see a certain path that we're taking but we got to put our foot down to make sure that we get back on the right path or maybe it's a in the family situation or maybe you have roommates where no one seems to pick up after themselves and you're the only one that puts the dishes away you're the only one that folds the laundry and makes sure that your living space is presentable and uh habitable and it it seems like everyone else there doesn't care about the work you do or just throws their stuff wherever and leaves dirty dishes in the sink and out and everywhere and you get to a point where you put your foot down and say hey if we're going to stay in this home together we're going to live by a certain level of expectations right and you're seeming uncomfortable tonight i feel some people nudging and other things maybe you know that scenario where you're with your family and you've made that certain dinner reservation that you're all going to get together or somebody's cooked a fine meal and you all gather around the table only to look up and everybody is on their cellular device kind of scrolling doing their own thing and then mom or dad says hey we're going to have family time and we're going to enjoy this whether we like it or not you know maybe it's at your job when your boss is ignoring you or your co-workers are taking you for uh taking you for advantage and and you have to put your foot down and say hey i i tried to help you out but i can't keep doing your work or maybe it's in your finances where you say no more credit cards or you know dave ramsey says you got to get sick and tired of being sick and tired and the only time you should see the inside of a restaurant is if you're working in it or serving in it where you you've got to stop that debt from accumulating so you've got to do something crazy and do whatever it takes to keep that debt from getting out of control and for you forever making payments on something so you've got to put your foot down maybe it's in your health and maybe you made some commitments some resolutions like we do at the end of the year that said hey i'm no longer living by this i'm putting a plan together and down the road i'm going to achieve these fitness goals or maybe it's a business venture where you've been on the hamster wheel and you've had these dreams or pursuits but you finally said hey i'm putting my foot down and i am going to go after this maybe a career pursuit or a goal and every successful person under the sound of my voice most of you obviously could look back to probably several different decisions but many of you could get up and testify of maybe one evening or one event that took place where you said that was the moment that i put my foot down and i made the decision of what the outcome of my life was going to be we we heard such a powerful testimony this morning from sister maddie moore she talked about just the different circumstances in her life and things had kind of accumulated together and she said i'm putting my foot down it's not going to happen overnight but i'm going to continue a walk in faith and you've she told about how god has continued to lead her and guide her and provide for her putting your foot down has a level of empowerment even when you just speak it out that i'm i'm putting my foot down on this situation and when you use that phrase but also literally put it into action psalms 1 10 and 1 says sit thou at my right hand indicating authority this is the psalmist david until i make thine enemies my foot footstool and we see this as a foreshadow and a prophetic voice to the coming messiah jesus christ god manifest in flesh you would conquer death hell and the grave but we see this imagery of also taking from the eastern kings at the time who would uh put their foot on the neck of their enemies and some of them would even decorate their footstools with portraits and pictures and depictions of those that they had conquered signifying and reminding them that they can never take the pressure off and they always have to stay reminded that they are putting their foot down on the enemy and also that this is the time that i have conquered this land in the festival of purim it's said that some of the children during the reading of esther when they would get to the name haman that the evil one who wanted to destroy the jewish people that they would write that name haman on the bottom of their shoe and every time they would speak out that name the children would stomp it out just another indication of it's under my feet i'm taking authority over it this is a past victory that's been worn this is a a turning point that's taking place and it also a reminder that through god's providence and god and being faithful to god that i will have victory in this life and over my enemies if i'll take the step of faith and realize that every step i take every piece of ground that the soul of my foot touches that i have authority and this phrase is an invitation to step and to walk with authority and dominion and i please don't confuse dominion with dominance dominion is uh acting in a responsible manner commissioned by the king of kings and it's it's walking in authority and dominion that you have over whatever deterrent is in your path it's a personal proclamation that in this certain situation or at this particular point in my life i'm putting my foot down and i'm taking control right now no i don't have all of the answers no i don't have a perfect plan put in place but i know where this road is heading i know if i continue in this lifestyle i know that if i continue living in the manner that i am that it is heading for destruction but i don't know what the future holds but i know in this very moment at the very least i need to put my foot down i'm talking about taking ownership with the authority given to you by the word of god through jesus christ our lord and believing that just like moses and just like joshua all the way up to jesus and the disciple and the apostles that the same promise that everywhere that you step you have dominion and authority in the book of hagai chapter 2 verse 23 it says in that day said the lord of hosts well i take thee o zerubbabel my servant the son of she'll tell saith the lord and will make thee as a signet for i have chosen these saith the lord as host it's important to understand who zerubbabel is he is the governor of the rebuilt jerusalem and he himself is of the royal bloodline he is in the lineage of king david he's per he's part of the davidic covenant which we know what would come from the root of david the messiah jesus christ but we read that zerubbabel's grandfather joconie was taken in to captive by babylon and it says that he was as a signet removed from god's finger now we know the prophecy uh would could would take place and we we we know that through the root and the seed of david the the davidic bloodline that the messiah would come but through in joconia there was a time where you know the davidic bloodline would have been into question but now we see zerubbabel his grandson stepping in and being faithful in a rebuilt jerusalem showing bravery and showing determination and and showing great courage and showing that he's going to trust the god of israel regardless of anything that has taken place well god vests in him all authority and he said zerubbabel i'm going to make you a signet which also is reinstating the davidic bloodline and renewing his covenant with david haggai brought a prophecy to zerubbabel that he will become chosen as the signet of god and this obviously has special reference to christ who literally descended from zerubbabel the the bloodline had been restored to fulfill the prophecy and zerubbabel was near and dear to god he was precious in god's sight he was honorable in his family his blessings his offspring will continue until the messiah will come and be the true signet the true power of authority the signal on god's right hand and all of these were prior to jesus were foreshadows of the true signet to come but part of the promise to zerubbabel is that as a chosen one by god that god as i read will make him as a signet and god's authority will be vested in him and where he acts it will be as if god acts jerubable because he is now god's signet has all authority and power in heaven he has all authority and power of the lord of the heavenly host and the heavenly army i think that's a pretty good backup to know to go out and and be commissioned and when jerubal would speak something when words would exit his lips in that rebuilt jerusalem and in that country or to foreign kingdoms it was as if god himself was speaking if jerubal saw something taking place that was contradictory to the word of god he could commission something to take place to get back on track and if he commissioned something he wasn't working as just some rogue entity throwing commands out there no no if jerubal commissioned something to take place it was is if god himself commissioned it to take place do anybody see where i'm going and this was a foreshadow to the messiah to come and god would manifest himself in flesh and conquer death hell in the great and then we get baptized in the name not in roles of father and titles of father son and holy spirit and how he revealed himself but we we go down in the name not a portion of the godhead in our worship but we go down in the name of the one who died for us because now you and i [Applause] are part of that royal bloodline because we have taken on the name of jesus are you thankful for that name and some of us need to remember tonight the name that we have taken on oftentimes it's easier for us to go back and remember our deliverance from egypt and how god brought us out of sin but we also need to remember that we went down we repented of our sins and went down in a watery grave and we have the seal of the king of kings on our life and what that means is that when we speak out something it's as if god himself spoke it out when we commissioned something to take place it's as if god himself was commissioning it to take place because you have this seal and you have all authority and you have all dominion and you have been commissioned by the king of kings and the lord of lords and his name is jesus no matter if your granddaddy was a signet removed no matter if your mom was this or your dad was that it doesn't matter you have the signet of the king on your life you have honor you have authority you have dominion and you're now part of a royal bloodline that allows you the ability to decree what is going to take place in your life you have the ability to decree what is going to take place in your community you have the ability to take to decree what is going to take place on your campus and at your job and whatever you say it's as if he said it and some of us under the sound of my voice need to remember the name that we have taken on and the name that is on our lives because we can find ourselves so disturbed and so distraught and so weary by situations that come upon us and we need to remember that hey wait a minute i've got the name of jesus christ on my life and there's some things in my life that i am going to have to put my foot down upon but i have a promise that wherever i step i have authority and i have all dominion [Applause] because i'm commissioned [Applause] by the king i know that any weapon that's formed against me from accomplishing my goal is not going to prosper and any person that tries to become a stumbling block i can just put my foot down upon it matthew 16 19 tells us and i will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven you have divine authority over every situation in your life this power didn't diminish this power didn't vanish with the disciples but psalms tells us forever somebody say forever oh lord thy word is settled in heaven what god said is already established but it's up to you tonight it's up to you tonight to recall and recognize the name that is upon your life to enter into those situations to step on the enemy and those things that are trying to harm you those things that are trying to destroy your family it's up to you to put your foot down upon it and you have to have the faith to do so you have to get desperate enough to do whatever it takes you have to get sick of doing the same things over and over and over and it's time to put your foot down our key verse says every place every place that the soul of your foot shall tread upon i have already given it unto you just like moses who said this in this verse of scripture we find an 85 year old caleb who reminded the general joshua of a promise that god made to him not the night before in prayer and in a dream not a week ago not a year ago when it looked like things were finally turning around you know i think we're going to get out of this wilderness no he reminded the general joshua of a promise that god made to him 40 years prior he said joshua it was a tidbit from the past if you will he said wherever the soul of your foot touches joshua i know you're young and i know i normally call you general but right now i'm going to call your son i know that you're brave i know that you you got courage but i know you're also human i know that you also might have some stress i i know you're the foreshadowing type of shadow of the messiah jesus to come but listen to me i know the pressures of life can get to you and you're a great leader but son i want you to remember something wherever your foot touches you have the same promise as your ancestor moses so don't you get deterred don't get let doubt creep in don't get weary you're a great general joshua and wherever the soul of your foot touches it's been given unto you and joshua the extent to which you are willing to step out by faith just no son that he's going to provide he's going to protect i've seen him do it over and over and time and time again but you you have to have the faith to step out you have to recognize the authority that you have on your life and joshua 14 10 it says now then just as the lord promised he has kept me alive for 45 years since the time he said this to moses while israel moved about in the wilderness so here i am today 85 years old i read this to bishop this morning i i couldn't keep from crying and caleb said listen joshua i'm still as strong today as the day that moses sent me out i'm just as vigorous to go out to battle as i was then i'm still ready to fight i'm not retiring i'm just re-firing now give me this mountain country no god didn't promise it to me last night he didn't promise it to me a week ago he didn't give me this promise a year ago but i'm clinging on to a promise that he gave me 40 years ago and i know that god's going to provide i know that god's going to protect but joshua you got to be willing to step out there's got to be another generation that's willing to step out [Applause] well we've got to be thankful for the caleb's in our life who said hey listen listen let me tell you about 123 west columbia let me tell you about the church next door let me tell you about how the miracles that took place because those same miracles are going to take place now for you and i know that you generation are in a tough position i know that you got a lot of things coming at you but listen to me god's word never fails god's promises never fell and you got to hold on to it but you've got to have the faith you've got to have the tenacity you've got to have the courage you've got to have the bravery to step up and put your foot down on some things you can't let this world just pass you by and you be some passive and not just let things come at you no you have to take authority you have to take dominion you have to be the one to step up and pray in a situation you have to be the one to step up and say hey i don't care if every one of my friends are doing this i'm not doing this because it's contradictory to what the word of god tells me i wonder if somebody would step up and step out tonight and say hey i'm putting my foot down on some things [Applause] mom and dad shouldn't have to teach us every conviction that we have pastor and our leaders and sunday school teachers shouldn't have to tell us of every convention we've got to get some convictions of our own in prayer we've got to do some things because we've had our head in the book and searching and reading and knowing that hey this doesn't line up with what the word of god teaches i'm not sitting around looking for every loophole i'm not sitting around looking at what my neighbor's doing but i've got the word of god because i know he's taken me somewhere i know he's taken me to a promise but i have to be the one we've got to have the same boldness as the generation before us caleb said i'm still ready to fight you see that mountain right there that's mine you know how i know not because of statistics not because of how somehow great some warrior i am but because god promised it to me now give me this heal and you he said uh you yourself heard that when the anachites were there and their cities were large and fortified but the lord helped me i will drive them out just as he said we got to have the same boldness and understanding that it could come through a process and god's promises sometimes take time sometimes it takes some wandering in the wilderness but i know that if i will keep my foot down and remember whose name i have taken on i know that with every step that i am walking in faith that i have dominion and i have authority and i am commissioned from heaven and you can have authority and you can have power and you can have dominion over the things of your life but you have to be the one to put your foot down it can't be mom and dad it can't be grandparents it can't be that praying saint in in the church house it has to be and start with you even though christ's victory was once and for all for everyone it's left up to you to manifest that victory in your personal life by putting your foot down on anything and everything that is contradictory and contrary to what god has called for your life in joshua 10 22 it says then said joshua open the mouth of the cave and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave and they did so and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave the king of jerusalem the king of hebron the king of jodamuth the king of leicester and the king of iglon and it came to pass when they brought out those kings unto joshua that joshua called for all of the men of israel note this and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with them come near and put your feet on the necks of these kings and they came near and they put their feet upon the necks of them and joshua said unto him fear not nor be dismayed be strong and of god good courage for thus shall the lord do to all your enemies against whom we fight any adversary any enemy that you come against if you do it in line with the word of the lord if you do it with god's commissioning on your life you're going to have your foot right on the neck and you'll have all power and authority over your enemy because i gave your ancestor moses a promise that anywhere where the soul of your foot touches you have authority and we we know that joshua is a type and shattered foreshadow of of jesus christ and that their names in the greek and the hebrew they translate to the the lord is salvation so i think it's noteworthy here that we see joshua commissioning the captains of those armies to do so they personally joshua didn't joshua set the atmosphere for them joshua gave them authority and dominion to do so but the captains had to go and put their foot on the neck of the enemy and now it is up to us to manifest that victory in our personal lives by putting our foot down on anything that is contradictory to this word joshua invited his captains and he named them specifically those five kings only you to know tonight what those specific things are in your life that you need to put your foot down upon and you need to confess them at an altar of repentance not get up in the front of the congregation of course that's not what i'm talking about i'm talking about a relationship between you and god that says god i'm putting my foot down on this thing in my life and i know i'm going to need your help but i also know that i have all power and all authority and that i can do it through you i have your name i have your word i have your blood i have your spirit living inside of me and each and every morning i'm going to wake up and put on the full armor of god but he's waiting on us to rise up sometimes we think god's going to perform the supernatural by waving a magic wand or some spell's going to go out no no he's given us all power and all authority but you have to be the one to step up and say hey as for me and my house we are going to serve the lord i i had the privilege of having a mom and dad on sunday morning that if i didn't wake up in time they'd start shaking me and turn the lights on but i also know some of the greatest sermons ever preached or some of these students who if they didn't show up for church nobody in their family would ever tell them any different but they set their own alarm clock because they've made a determination in their mind that i'm putting my foot down that i don't care what my mom does i don't care what my dad does i don't care if my granddaddy was a sicknet removed i am going to be faithful to his word i'm putting my foot down on that [Applause] and you can see how god's promises just continue to be fulfilled he said i've given you all power to tread upon the serpents you i don't know what you might need to put your your foot down up on tonight maybe it's the lust of the flesh maybe it's a relationship that needs restored maybe you said some things in the context of your family that it's caused a great rift that you need to put your foot down on and get to work on fixing it maybe it's a marital relationship that's just hanging on by a string i want you to know tonight that god can do a great deal with a string and i want you to know that there's testimonial evidence across this house of some couples who've been married 20 and 30 and 40 and 50 years and yes they had a point in their life where it was like a thread but they put their foot down and said we're going to be faithful to this world we're going to be faithful to his house and we're going to put a plan in place to make sure that our marriage makes it and you look down the road 40 years later and they're one of the strongest couples they're one of the greatest examples but you got to put your foot down you got to have to want it it's not going to happen by accident you got to put a plan in place god's going to help you but he's given you authority he's given you dominion and you've got to make it happen maybe it's a lifestyle that you need to change you need to put your foot down musicians come maybe maybe it's in your business maybe it's in your finances maybe doubt and weariness has slipped in maybe it's dread maybe there's joy killers and joy stealers of people in your life that you you need to let go of and put your foot down upon but you have to be the one to put your foot down so i asked you tonight whatever that circumstance is in your life what whatever that king is in your life you have to identify it you have to speak it out under you have to identify and you have to be the one that puts their foot down on the neck of that thing that wants to take you out and to harm you so i ask you what's your next step every single one of us have a next step if you haven't been baptized in the name of the one who died for you you need to repent of your sins and you need to take on his name and baptism and have that seal of the king of kings and the lord of lords on your life that's your next step some of us remember as i mentioned at the forefront of this sermon our deliverance from egypt but some of us need to remember our baptism tonight and remember the power we have so you need to ask yourself what's your name what's my next step because when you put your foot down on something that means that you're above it that means that you have the upper hand and you're in charge and whatever is underneath you has lost all power because of your authority and whatever you put your foot down upon has no influence to control you anymore and that's why we sing that song that says i command you satan i give you an imperative statement i give you a statement of authority i'm commissioned by the king the words that are exiting the lips of my mouth have full governance of a heavenly host of army i command you satan to pick up your weapons and flee for god has given me authority to walk right over the whatever situation in your life that you're facing you need to make a bold proclamation tonight and say i'm putting my foot down upon it it's got to be me and i'm going to put a plan in place to keep the victory stand with me only you know what you need to put your foot down upon tonight you can't conquer something if you keep it covered in and keep it hidden again i'm not talking about confessing it to any i'm talking about confessing it to heaven and to god and i'm talking about a time of transparency and honesty of yourself between you and god it says i'm getting control of this tonight do i do i am i going to put a plan in place yes do i have all the answers right now no do i know what it's going to look like tomorrow is there going to be a fight tomorrow yes all of these things are true but i can make a declaration tonight that i am putting my foot down every single one of us have a next step we're on a journey whether you've been serving god for five minutes five years 50 years maybe you strayed away from god for a period of time of your life that's every single one of us at times but we're all locked arm and arm on our way to the heavenly promised land it's a race that we're not trying to get there before someone else but we're trying to get there together pastor whitley preached an amazing sermon a few months back about sometimes when we turn our life back over and get on the on the right track the enemy can then can he'll try every single source of manipulation to our minds he can to get you back out of it but sometimes the enemy when we make that firm commitment we put our foot on the neck of the thing that's trying to harm us the enemy will slip in and say look at all that time you wasted you could have been doing x y z by now you you could have been this by now but i need to find that sermon and post it but he talked about he is the restorer of time and that he can put all of those things back in place and i promise you those things that you think are going to be back in place he's going to exceed every expectation and exceed every goal that you have for yourself because he's ready to pour out blessings on you that you do not even have room enough to receive the israelites to get to their promise kind of the conclusion of this particular instance is says and it shall come to pass as soon as the souls as they they saw the promised land and their distance they had to cross the jordan last time god just moses held the his hands up in the red sea parted but this time to cross the jordan to get into the promised land they could see it afar off but the mighty jordan raged it says that it shall come to pass as soon as the souls of the feet of the priest that bear the ark of the lord of all earth shall rest in the waters of the jordan the waters of jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down and it shall stand upon a heap and the priests that bear the ark of the covenant of the lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the jordan and all the israelites passed over on dry ground until all the people were passed clean over the jordan the same god who had miraculously delivered them from the bondage of egypt would once again make a way for them but this time it was a little different on this day the people had to place their trust in confidence in god by stepping into the water but every step that they took the water would just separate but they had to be the ones to step out they had to be the ones that said i i know the jordan is raging and it was even in flood season but i can see that promise that god has for me but i have got to step out and every step they took the water would step back even farther i go back to our initial verse every place that the soul of your foot shall tread upon that have i given unto you this is the inheritance that you have from moses to jacob to joshua all the way to now so with every head bowed and every eye closed i ask you to ask yourself what's my next step tonight what do i need to put my foot down on tonight he's the restorer of time i wouldn't worry about what anyone else would think i'm talking about you and your relationship with god because nobody nobody knows the kings that are identified those kings in your life that are trying to defeat you that take up your time that want to send you on a path of destruction but god is calling on someone tonight to let them know that jesus christ you have all power and you have all authority and you can put your foot on the neck of that enemy tonight you can't wait for a convenient season you can't wait for a break in the waves uh but last time god did it like this and it was just instantaneous this time you have to be the one to step out but i also know with this great church body that when you step out you're not going to step alone because this altar is a place for every single one of us this altar is a place for each and every one of us to take a next step so i ask you tonight what's your next step what are you going to put your foot on tonight and once you have identified that specifically i want you to step forward and with all power and with all authority every step forward you take up to this altar i want you to recognize and realize the name that is over your life and that name is jesus and it encompasses every characteristic god the provider god the healer god the deliverer the god of peace god the chain breaker god the problem solver whatever you need it's all encapsulated in that name of jesus christ our god our salvation and i believe tonight that you can put your foot down on some things and turn your life around and proclaim authority over some situations [Music] is [Music] yet but you gotta make a proclamation tonight you gotta put your foot down [Applause] [Music] i'm not gonna let anger control of the situation i have all authority on heaven [Music] [Applause] jesus [Music] [Music] [Applause] so we asked the question what's your next step has everybody identified that thing in your life that you're putting your foot down on tonight i i'd like to see somebody with a little more authority tonight say i've identified it i know what it is i i've got my hand up i know what i'm taking authority over tonight so i'm going to ask this question what's your next step and i want your response to be with praise and worship and this praise and worship is faith it's praise in advance for what god is going to do in the situation it's praise for that you believe that the same problems from moses to jacob to joshua is the same promise that i have because i'm taking on the name of jesus so what's your next step right now do you have the answer why don't you answer it with some praise right now i believe he's going to give me power i believe he's going to give me answers i believe he's going to give me authority i believe that that relationship is going to be restored i believe i'm going to get victory over that situation i believe i believe i believe that promise is going to be for free tonight
