you glad you know that name tonight praise god what a great joy it is to to know him well would you like to hear just a little bit more of history tonight of the uh 50 years of memories uh brother derek i'm going to be starting with the experiencing burnout have you ever heard of that experiencing burnout and uh says time stress and constant financial pressures were taking its toll on this young preacher and his young wife with a young child i was getting calls constantly to preach revivals and help that helped subsidize our finances however with me being gone so much it was taking a toll on the church i began questioning whether i was in the will of god i would lie on my face in the floor of that little pink trailer and pray and cry until there would be a small puddle of tears i pleaded with god to reaffirm his will and my life there was no mistake about god calling me to knoxville but the lack of visible success and growth made me wonder if god was through with me in this city i prayed for some unmistakable sign some miracle of vision or dream just anything that would make me know that i was still in the will of god where was god that spoke so clearly in little rock prayer and fasting did not immediately get answers to my questions are soon in my dilemma now i i think we need to read the negative as well as the positive everything is not always rosy and you go through some great great trials sometimes and i was going through a great trial at this time i was still getting calls to preach revivals and was being asked to assist in pastoring other churches i decided that i had fulfilled what god had sent me to knoxville to do and perhaps now god would send me someone else to finish the work that i had begun one of the most difficult decisions i had ever made was to resign as pastor on sunday morning as we stepped down out of the pink trailer to go to sunday school i turned to sister mccool and said honey i'm resigning the church today this was quite a shock to say the least the term burnout is a term meant to describe a jet plane's motor going dead in flight that pretty well described my situation i was experiencing burnout i turned the reins of the church over to our very precious assistant pastor brother ira mckinney we set our fond farewells and headed back on the evangelistic field from that day on i refrained from calling anyone of the church or making any contact i was determined not to cause brother mckinney difficulty from that day every time knoxville was mentioned it was like a pain in my heart sister mccool would say someday there's going to be a good church in knoxville and that would make it even worse and next time i'll be reading the chapter that says on the road again so uh this is 50 years of memories that i've been reading to you about first apostolic church and uh bishop and sister mccool's uh ministry and our life it's been a great life but i would be uh less than truthful if i didn't tell you that there were some rough roads that we had to travel over and i hope that gives you encouragement rather than discouragement because everybody's going to have it sometime or another we're going back to teaching a sunday school lesson i don't know when we stopped teaching the sunscreen lesson i got to teach you my own bible studies and i don't and i don't know i don't know when i'll do the same thing again when the lord deals with me about a subject or something uh but uh this is the new sunday school literature for the fall uh session and this lesson is actually to be taught was supposed to be taught last sunday september the 4th 2022. series 1 the god of deliverance the part in which we can participate those are my comments god is a god of deliverance but there's some things that god allows you and me to participate in and actually requires and demands it and and i i hope in this lesson tonight uh you can be blessed and inspired to see what god can do through each individual and tonight today's lesson is slaves can be delivered the focus versus hebrews 3 14 for we are made partakers of christ if notice that word if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end there is an if in in god's contract with us he said if you love me keep my commandments there's a lot of ifs and we like to think of everything just being totally free and no obligation well you can't buy it with money of course but there are some ifs there's some requirements for us to do if we're going to successfully live for god our lesson text is taken from exodus the second chapter starting at verse 1. and there went a man of the house of levi and took to wife a daughter of levi and the woman conceived and embarrassed some and when she saw him that he was a goodly child she hid him three months now this child was born during the time joseph had led them all down to egypt he was a prime minister second only to the uh the the leader the pharaoh of the time but after after joseph died there there rose another king that knew not joseph and he didn't have the same respect for the people that the former pharaoh had and when he saw the people multiplying so rapidly he thought he had to do something about it so he passed a law that every hebrew male child that was born was to be killed and uh he first gave the the order that the midwives would murder the child at birth and then he they refused to do that these uh hebrew midwives and then they he gave a command that all baby boys should be thrown into the nile river and so this had to be a terrible time so understanding the background when this baby was born he was to either be murdered at birth or was to be thrown into the of the crocodile-infested nile river so uh his mother the the woman conceived embarrassing and when she saw him that he was a goodly child hid him three months i i looked at this very closely hid him three months uh oh what an obligation oh what a ordeal it was for this mother to to muffle the the cry of that child to to keep him out of sight and because he was very very small of course but she was able to do this for three months she was able to hide him but let me impart this to you tonight you and i have a responsibility for our children you better hide your children from what's going on in this world right now you and i have a responsibility to hide our children don't expose them to the things that they normally would be exposed to it's it's coming from every source and i found an article i'll read to you a little bit later um my brother bob he and i uh correspond and uh as we preachers do we share each other's thoughts uh with each other and he wrote an article on when you can hide them build something around them and i just i thought of that only today and i looked it up and i was able to find it uh if if you can't hide them then build something around them when she could no longer hide this baby here's what happened and when she could no longer hide him she took for him an ark of bull races and dubbed it with slime and with pitch and put the child there in and she laid it in the flags by the river spring now think about this sheep she with her hands meticulously skillfully carefully uh made a little ark out of bulrushes a a a a plant that's a kind of like straw that you you could weave together and when she woke and she she made that little basket and then she slimed it a a a product that came from the plant and and smeared it on the inside of that little basket so that it would be waterproof how determined she was in developing safety for that baby of hers and listen when you spend time and money sending your child to a christian school when you spend time and money sending your child to youth camp and to revival meetings and to special religious events you're not wasting money you're investing and building something that'll keep them afloat and keep them alive we have that responsibility for ourselves now look around why do we have two little mini buses out here three big road buses out here why do we have a gymnasium last night i came over and watched a volleyball game a huge crowd all the cars out back here and why do we have a a a soccer field and a baseball field why do we have all these things for for the young folks why do we have the electronics that is so fantastic why do we have the the visible scenes the the attractions that attract young folks because we're building something around them we can't hide them anymore it's too late you cannot hide the children the time was you could keep them from these things but no more when in this day of the internet they're going to be exposed to everything that they that is afloat today and we've got to build something what are we doing we're having this music up here that appeals to young folks when they come down and start shouting and dancing and jumping and jumping we're building something for the young folks i might not can run and jump and shout like i once did due to my old agent but i can stand back and watch it as his kids jumping shouting and they love the lights and and they love the music and they love what's going on we've got to build something around them if we're going to keep them give the lord a handclap now this word i found out today that said she was taken from a a hebrew word that was a plural word instead of she did this it was a plural word and in the book of hebrews it confirms this uh the the the idea that it was more than just she it was daddy it was mama it was myra it was grandma and grandpa let me tell you something you and i better be so concerned about our children that we will overlook some of our personal likes and dislikes and try to do something to build an ark to get these children in you're give the lord a hand clapping you'll have to give me just a little a moment to get my composure because i'm i'm a little bit excited about this and his sister stood up far off to whip what would be done to him now quietly she i don't know how many days it would have taken to build that little ark no tell how long and and patiently she built her and then no doubt she had to get her hands dirty uh putting that slime and tarlac material inside and and getting it all fixed to make sure that it wouldn't sink when it's set there in the water and maybe myron the older sister uh helped with this very carefully i look around this place and i see so many things going on and uh they say somebody gets their hands dirty somebody's doing something to build a boat to build a basket to build something around our children as they grow up that the devil is not going to throw them to the crocodiles are not going to slit their throat or kill them at birth we're going to give them something to protect them and then there's another person got involved in this and the daughter of pharaoh came down to wash herself the river and her maidens walked along by the riverside and when she saw the ark among the flags she sent her made sufficient and god sent an unbelieving princess normally she would think nothing about the hebrew babies she was her daddy that was having all of them killed and she didn't have to hear the screams and the cries of the mothers she didn't have to uh watch the hideous things so excuse me so it didn't but god made it so that she came down to the river and and my room was watching and her mother was watching and to see that princess when she came down to bathe in the river she saw that basket and heard something crying and when they opened the lid on that box there was little baby moses and he was weeping some god knew how to touch that princess heart if you and i will do our part god will make a way and he will even take the the those that would normally be evil he knows how to touch their heart when it's in the best interest of the child of god and when she had opened it she saw the child and behold the babe wept and she had compassion on him and said this is one of the hebrews children then said his sister to pharaoh's daughter shall i go and call for thee a nurse of the hebrew women that she may nurse the child isn't it amazing how god manages and maneuvers if we will only do our part that's that's why we are constantly on the alert what else can we do i come around here sometimes and i have to say what is that i've never seen nothing like that what does that do and things that i i don't even know what they are but they're being used in the service of god and and here this uh heathen princess when she saw the baby weaving it touched her heart god knows how to touch the heart of the brick salesman that's selling brick god knows how to the heart of the concrete truck driver god knows how to if you and i will just do our part he is indeed a god of deliverance but you and i are the product of that deliverance he uses us for that deliverance then send his sister to pharaoh's daughter shall i go and the beautiful thing about this uh marlon was waiting and when she saw this they all she already had a plan would you like to have a nurse for and she runs up the hill through the weeds and gum and got moses mother to be his nurse who in this world would love him more who in this world would teach him about the the hebrew god than his own mother so she raised him and pharaoh's daughter said to her take this child away and nurse it for me and i'll give god god used pharaoh's daughter to raise moses and then and and paid an israelite to take care of him god is a great god and i'll give you thy wages and the woman took the child and nursed it and the child grew and she brought him unto pharaoh's daughter and he became her son and she called his name moses and she said because i drew him out of the water now the importance of this lesson in my opinion is we can break free from bondage also i see the importance of how god uses a little baby his mother his sister and an unbelieving princess for his purpose now i've already mentioned some of the things but there are so many things around this place that everybody is not going to like everything but there's something you can like you're going to have something sister mccool and i um uh pastor you want to say something you are just praising the lord because you you have priority when you raise your hand now i should worship god but i also you i i love to be interrupted by the right people uh um we i read in the paper that the old sns cafeteria was closing and uh right off i told sister mccool we got to go the closing on the 31st i believe whatever it was and our great great granddaughter had never had the experience of a cafeteria so we wanted her to have that experience so uh we got her and we went over to got got there they were closed from i think from uh two to four and we waited around got there and everything had a huge crowd there that day because they were there because it's closing and when we started through that line sister mccool she likes cucumber salad and and i like the carrot salad and and i like this and she liked that and eastern like this and and and sister mccool of all things she wanted salmon patties and they had two salmon patties that would fry just like she liked i didn't like salmon patties they had closed a long time ago that's all they served i could i don't like fish in any shape form or fashion but i found a lot of other things i did like just because i didn't like salmon patties that's not why they're closed because they had plenty other things and i don't tell you something in a church i'm not talking about doctrine now we've only got one doctrine and that that's they it don't change i mean it is it's it's it's there all the time just the same but there in a church there's a certain kind of singing the certain kind of music the certain kind of worship the certain kind that that appeal to different people and when we get a little on the selfish side if i'm not careful i want everything to be just like i like it you know uh it could be all the old songs the great speckled bird and wanted to be wonderful there are some and i still like those songs and some of the other songs at my age and my hearing i don't understand the words but i sure do understand the spirit i may not understand the word but i sure do understand the spirit and it thrills my soul and i i sure can't keep up with michael when he takes off around this church but i can i can say go michael go michael then i can stomp my foot and worship god are you hearing me do you know what i'm talking about tonight i don't expect these young folks to like everything that i like and i am more obligated to build something for them now we started building something for them a long time ago a long long time ago david massengill went out to nebraska that's uh brother uh uh justin's father and he came back from out of nebraska and he hit me up with an idea he said pastor uh why don't we buy us a silver eagle bus and organize our youth group we'll call them uh the youth action singers and brother david and i got together and and it appealed to me now at the time i it wasn't it was not it wasn't my idea but brother david and i went over to south knoxville the trailways bus company was over there bud folen and and uh another fellow there we talked to them and and you know we made a deal with him about buying a silver eagle bus and and never i hadn't heard of anybody doing that and we bought a silver a 1964 silver eagle bus i was in 1974 there was about 10 years old and and we had that thing painted and i i was preaching revival out in arkansas flew in and all night long they worked on that bus getting it ready and we left here uh just a daylight going to west memphis arkansas and uh i'd never driven the bus before but i drove that thing ground the gears and fierce but i made we made it and had a street meeting on the on in the walmart parking lot i believe it might have been kmart like them but anyway we had a and we we started using that bus we went from louisiana to canada uh all the way from here to there and that was i was young and this was exciting some of the folks couldn't couldn't relate to that but those folks sitting here tonight that that took those trips and and saw god move and some did their courting on that silver eagle bus now that was that day well things changed now are you are you are you understanding what i'm saying now everybody didn't jump aboard that bus everybody but but we young folks did we liked it we had a great time well what i'm saying right now times change and and as they change your likes and dislikes and comforts and discomforts are going to change it's important that we understand this now i was talking about this article it came to my mind and uh brother bob mccool wrote this and let me let me share it with you uh he said i read in in some states they are trying to see the clouds he lives out there where they have tornadoes and uh they know what it is to have some real bad weather he said i read that in some states they were trying to seed the clouds to get them to produce rain their experiment did produce rain however it also produced hail and did more damage to their crops than the dry weather ladies and gentlemen i can see some very dark clouds that threatens america for america has seeded the clouds of rebellion discontent violence and anti-religion until those clouds are now producing storms of unbelievable destruction in our streets and in our schools when i was in school some of our greatest problems were throwing paper wads dipping girls pigtails and ink wells and maybe catching a guy behind the school out smoking a prince albert sieger cigarette but in 1962 the united states supreme court removed prayer from the public schools in 1963 bible reading was removed my friends they were beginning to seed the clouds and now they have sown the wind and they're reaping the whirlwind at tornado proportions from who from those hellish clouds of destruction came a crime wave that shocked the world more than 2.3 million now this the statistics uh was this was in 19 2018 so they probably doubled by this time of what we've been going through more than 2.3 million children under the age of 18 were arrested last year 8 out of 10 americans will be victims of theft at least once in their lives nearly three out of every four convicted criminals are not incarcerated the way the laws seem to be so slanted in favor of the criminal it would almost make you think knowing that the law is first timothy 1 and 9 make you think it's for the criminal instead of the the righteous first timothy 1 9 says knowing this that the law is not made for a righteous man but for the lawless and the disobedient for the ungodly and for sinners for unholy and profane for murderers of fathers and murders of mothers for men slayers it almost makes you think this scripture is saying the law is not made to protect the righteous but it protects the unholy and the profane and murders etc from those ominous clouds seated by those un by the ungodly they have the breakdown of the family the this year the separation and divorce will disrupt the lives of more than one million children approximately 2.9 million children were the victims of abuse and neglect last year our nation has the highest divorce rate in the world approximately one half of all marriages can be expected to end in divorce the thief cometh not but for to steal to kill and to destroy but i'm come that you may have life and have it more abundantly john 10 10. and what about the moral disintegration before the average child completes grade school he will watch more than 100 000 acts of violence on television by the time the average child reaches the age 18 he will have witnessed two hundred thousand acts of violence and sixteen thousand murders on television over the last three decades the overriding finding is in research on the mass media is that the exposure to media portrayals of violence increases aggressive behavior in children the national institute of mental health has reported that in magnitude exposure to television violence is as strongly correlated with aggressive behavior as any other variable that has been measured in addition to increased aggression countless studies have demonstrated that exposure to in depiction of violence causes disintegration and that creates a climate desensitization and creates a climate of fear here's the shocker commercial television for television is 50 to 60 times more violent than prime time programs for adults as some cartoon averaged more than 80 violent acts per hour the critical period for lasting harm from exposure of violence is pre-adolescent children children as young as 14 months model behavior 50 percent of all murder victims are between 15 and 34 years of age and 55 of those arrested for murder are less than 25 years old one-third of all violent crimes committed in the u.s are committed by individuals less than 21 years old tell me we don't need to build something around them tell me we don't need to be trying to get to our young people here in america every single day approximately 270 000 students carry guns to school are you aware that every 64 seconds a baby is born to a teenage mother every five minutes a baby will be born to a teenage mom who already has one or more children more than 1.6 million babies are murdered by abortion each year as many as 300 000 homosexuals have paraded up and down our nation's streets some carrying signs stating we want your children and other blasphemia signs my lord what has happened to good old america seventy percent of americans say they don't believe in absolutes there's not a parent here today that would dare let your child go out of your sight in a mall most of us tell our children not to go out of the yard to play and even in their own yard you have them under constant surveillance and rightly so ladies and gentlemen i am told by zoologists that babies of the flock and the sick and the make up the greatest part of the lion's diet if that is true then you can readily see why the bible uses the lying metaphor in connection to the devil there is a burning hell that's awaiting the sinner but i feel the devil also has a hell here on earth camouflaged to seduce our babies god forbid that we have tv babies sitting god forbid that we have tv babysit our children or our grandchildren i will not sit idly by while hell's chief demon in invents diabolical schemes to steal our children away dear god folks how much are our babies worth to us and i might add to that nor do we need to overlook the fact that the kids if you're not careful with the iphones and their ipads they can see things even worse than you can see on public television we need to build something around them we need to have them love bible stories we need to have them love sunday school we need to have them love youth camp we need to have them love strong tower we need to let me tell you something we need and we are building something around them give the lord a hand clap it is high time we use something more than spare time and pocket chains to build some children's ministry around our children we had better get creative about our do you hear what i'm saying we need to be creative about building some children's ministries around our children we'd better get creative about our work we're in competition with unlimited dollars and unholy lifestyles encouraged by the toy manufacturers in my opinion many of them are inspired by the dark side hideous demons looking figures are imposed upon our children for their playthings are they getting them used to the demons the hell plans to invade their bare souls with you may call me an old fatty daddy who has lost his mind but to tell you the truth i don't even remember being absent-minded [Laughter] thank you brother bob i don't even remember being absent-minded you have known fury until you mess with a mama's kid honest you'll get in your eyes like onions now let me go back to my lesson hannah's determination and first samuel chapter 1 there is a grace in fact it's more than one chapter but there was a man who had two wives in those days that was allowed one's name was pena the other was hannah pena had had boys and had children and hannah had no child and pena tormented hannah because she felt like she was something great because she could have children and hannah couldn't and so she deviled her she tormented her and and so every year their their the father uh elk and all they they would go to the house of god and would take their sacrifice and when they they went this particular year hannah was weeping she was snubbing she's crying she wouldn't eat and her husband said to her so why why don't you eat so you you know i'm i'm i'm better to and she he gave each of the children and his other wife something for the sacrifice but he gave hannah a double portion and he told us that i am better to you than ten sons why do you and she said uh i want a child and he said my god i can't open your womb it's god that's kept you from having a baby so when they got to the house of god and they were they were worse than uh she was praying but no no voice was coming out her lips were moving and when eli that the man of god saw her mouth moving he he took notice of it and marked it and she saw her move and he thought she was drunk and he rebuked her and said woman put away the wine that you've been drinking you're in the house of god and she said sir man of god i am not drinking i'm not drunk but she said i am a woman of a sorrowful spirit let me tell you something if there's anything should break our hearts it should be the love for our children not being given what they should have and that's a good christian diet and a wholesome atmosphere to live in they're living in such terrible conditions today what they see on the ipad i've got i have an ipad uh i don't recall ever befriending anybody because i'm i'm afraid to touch anything because i don't know what's going to come up but something come up that that frightens me that i i didn't i didn't put it there but but somehow it gets there and the it's it's out there and it's out there for your children out there for your children and we better protect them from that by giving them something more interesting and something that is better for them than what that is and what i'm what i'm preaching tonight to you is uh is uh appealing to our young folks and and i don't mean to do anything sinful i don't mean now we have we have different types of sports we have different kinds of activities we have something going on all the time and i'm i'm not even aware of some of the things that's going on but what we're doing and we're not neglecting our elderly we're not overlooking them uh but we we have got to focus on these uh children that can't do it for themselves now when she told eli what was wrong with her he told her and she bowed about and said lord of hosts if thou will indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid and remember me and not forget thine handmaid but will give unto thine handmaid a man child then i will give him unto the lord all the days of his life and there shall no razor come upon his head that was a sign of of a of a vow they had in those days a nazirite that meant they had committed themselves to a certain vow and it came to pass as she continued praying before the lord that eli marked her mouth now hannah she spake in her heart only her lips moved but her voice was not heard therefore eli thought she had been drunken and eli said unto her how long will thou be drunken put away thy wine from thee and hannah answered and said no my lord i'm a woman of a sorrowful spirit i've drunk neither wine or strong drink but i have poured out my soul before the lord here we've got somebody that wanted a child and it's sad that today that there's over 1.6 million 1.6 million babies murdered at birth they can come to full term birth and and can be murdered in the process of being born and it'd be legal in that a sad situation they were living in that kind of atmosphere now she wanted a child now when he was born uh she said i'm gonna give him to the lord and uh the first few years she didn't even go back to the sacrifice because she was giving her full time to raising this little baby boy whose name was samuel and she said i promised god that if you give me a man child i will lend him to the lord all the days of his life and when he got old enough to wean which is back in those days it was about five years old she brought him to the house of god and she told the man of god said you remember me i'm the woman you thought was drunk and you told me that if i prayed that god would answer my prayer this is the product of prayer i prayed for and this is the little boy that god has given me and now that i'm going to present him to you to be your servant now in those few years she had him she had to instill within him a love for god and the work of god because she left him there and he became a servant to eli and the bible said that every year when she went up to the sacrifice she had made him a a a new ephod that was a garment that the priests wore it was a very very colorful and decorative garment that was sitting over the the head and that covered the shoulders of the back it was a special garment [Music] that only the priests wore now she didn't take him a football player's cap she didn't take him a baseball player's cap she took him something to make him look like the man of god and i don't want to get i don't want to get fanatical now and i don't want to hurt anybody's feelings if you have a favorite sports figure be that to you i'm not i'm not preaching against that but i'm saying that if we're not careful we will build a great image of admiration of a sports figure or a musician figure but the figure the man of god is often a holy joe of somebody that's uh is the butt of the jokes and so forth when we really need to be uh putting in their mind an appreciation for their pastor we we now i've heard people say i'm going to tell brothers brother mccool on you i'm going to i'm going to tell the pastor on you you should never do that don't don't use your pastor as a as a bad example the the child needs to appreciate the church his sunday school teacher his christian school teacher and hold them in high admiration because we're building something around them now that little baby was one day going to be her deliverer and you don't know the the the little boy the little girl which one is going to be a a a samuel going to be a timothy we need to be building something around them but samuel ministered before the lord being a child girded with a linen ephod moreover his mother made him a little coat and brought it to him from year to year when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice then i want to call your attention to ii timothy chapter 1. and i'll start reading it verse 4. paul had uh gave given his salutations to timothy and writing this book and and paul's evaluation of timothy and his relationship with his mother and his grandmother second timothy 1 and 4 says greatly desiring to see thee being mindful of thy tears that i may be filled with joy when i call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee which dwelt first in thy grandmother lois and thy mother eunice and i'm persuaded that is in thee also notice how where paul traced the roots of his of timothy's spiritual tree was his grandmother and mother i don't know how many times you've heard pastor uh whitley refer to his mother she she she made an indelible print upon his heart and he recalls many things that she did through his young life sometimes it's not very glamorous he he tells it that he didn't like it at the time but it was things that was good for him i've heard sister jamie mccool talk about her mother sister sellers and uh when when sister jamie would misbehave if you could believe she ever misbehaved but uh her mother didn't take a club and start beating her but she where's where's my good little girl jamie what happened to my good and she said it would just crush her all she would have to say is where's my good little girl now uh i i know this i know that uh pastor anthony and i know that he's seen his mother and dad and he knows the life they live day in and day out and uh pastors made reference to his mom and dad many times and i i hope we've given the right example and what i'm teaching tonight to all of us is the part that we are playing in the future generation in the church that's coming on as i've already stated i may not like everything that they that they that they like and they probably don't like all the things i like but i'm going to build something around them then paul said wherefore i put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the fire that the gift of god which is in thee by the putting on of my hands and the commentary i believe it was uh i believe it was adam clark said this had a reference to a fire that was simmering and was about to go out and you have to stir it up stir up the coals and put more fuel on it to keep the fire going and his his uh comment his take on that was uh you may have the holy ghost but if you're not careful it'll start to simmer you miss a few church services and this has been one of the bad things of coba 19 a lot of people quit coming to church during that time and some of them have never started back and you don't have to miss many services till you get out of the routine and it's easier to to miss the next service and the missingness or next service now paul said uh stir up the gift the holy ghost you you and i need to be here forever service and get stirred up something needs to stir our hearts to keep that fire going wherefore i put thee in our members that thou stir up the gift of god which is in the by the putting on or the laying of my own hands and then let me let me bring our bible lesson to close tonight with hebrews the third chapter starting in verse one wherefore holy brethren partakers of the heavenly calling consider the apostle and high priest of our profession jesus christ who was faithful to him that appointed him as also moses was faithful in all his house for this man was counted worthy of more glory than moses and as much as he who had built the house hath more honor than the house for every house is builded by some man but he that builds all things is god and moses barely was faithful in all his house as a servant for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after but christ as a son over his own house whose house we are now god's house i like this right here i'm talking about building something for uh your child here's something for all of us uh but christ is a son over his own house whose house we are we are god's house and we are the ones that got to be molded into his uh liking if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end wherefore as the holy ghost saith today if you will hear my voice hear his voice harden out your hearts as in the provocation in the day of temptation and the wilderness the children of israel when the going got rough some of them began to complain and they went back and and godless many of them die in the wilderness when your fathers tempted me proved me and saw my works forty years wherefore i was grieved with that generation and said they do always err in their hearts and they have not known my ways so i swear in my wrath they shall not enter into my rest take heed brethren lest there be any of you of an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living god but exhort one another daily this is where we need each other but exhort one another daily while it is called today lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin if we are made partakers of christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end while it is said today if you will hear his voice harden out your heart as in the day of provocation would you stand your feet with us i again would like to state that i do pray that we all will understand um we're working for one another he even said that god's house was you and me we are his house and and we are that building that we're building something around every age and i notice here at first apostolic church we have something for every age group from from two-year-old we've got a two-year-old class three four five right on up through the 12th grade and then we've got the the sunday school classes and let us continue with great uh enthusiasm and great excitement and and keep something built for our children and keep them loving to come to church pastor do we need any announcements of anything all right don't forget service this weekend lord we thank you for this service we thank you for the word of god i pray lord that you'll bless the word that it sink deep into our hearts may we understand the privilege lord instead of thinking of it as an obligation though it is may we also consider the privilege we have of doing something building something for our families our children our husbands and wives and little ones that will build something around them that the devil cannot get to them dismiss us from this place but not from your presence in jesus name we pray amen and amen shake hands and be friendly you're dismissed in the name of the lord
