if you're not already standing stand to your feet I too along with Pastor Hammond say welcome to all of our guests today and what an honor it is to have you in the house today I I looked at Pastor Hammond the first song we began to sing I said man it looks like Easter crowd in here this looks good thank you if you're returning from Easter if you were here last week maybe for the first time and you decide to come back again today thank you so much that means so much to us and we're gonna put our hands together matter of fact First Apostolic put your hands together come on let's just show them our love our welcome our gratitude that they are here in the house with us today amen and amen of course we miss uh pastor and first lady so much and we're excited to hear all the good reports that they're going to bring home I hope you've been watching their Twitter Facebook uh all their social media I've been watching them uh preaching talked about preaching at the school I hope you got to say that if you didn't get to see that go back and look at their social media and they've got good videos on there of of them preaching the services and them the school and it'll it'll bless your heart I promise you and we're praying for a safe return how many enjoyed brother and sister Lee from Singapore that was here just a little over a week ago were they not amazing I want to give I want to give a shout out to them this morning well actually it's it's late this evening for Singapore but they they have agreed between they and they have some some great people in their church that speak Mandarin they are translating live from Singapore so everything that we're saying in the microphone they are translating back through it from Skype it's going to them and then there within probably a split tenth of a second they're sending it back and so we have some great ladies and we met them a lot of you met them last week but we have some great ladies some some Chinese ladies they of course speak Mandarin and so they are receiving translation live right there in our service isn't that awesome aren't we thankful brother and sister Lee we love you they're suffering from jet lag they just got back to Singapore not too long ago they're suffering from jet lag and they're tired but thank you brother and sister Lee for staying up and uh translating and they have such a deep burning passion amen for our beautiful Chinese congregation and so do we well tonight we continue our city-wide Revival I hope and pray that you're inviting someone to come out tonight maybe somebody that you invited last week to Easter you can bring them back get them back in the house tonight we're going to be dealing on the topic of healing who doesn't need healing I need healing I don't know anyone that doesn't need healing of some sort whether it's mind-body solar Spirit everybody needs healing in their bodies we're going to have a prayer line it's not going to be anything that's threatening uh it's gonna be something you don't have to participate in but it's something that if you want to or your friend your neighbor your co-worker your family member if they want to be Anointed with oil we're going to have the ministry we're going to be laying hands upon on them and I just believe this has been my prayer all day today I've been praying God what are you going to do today thank God what are you gonna do today because he's a God of Wonders amen he's a god of Miracles we've been singing about it come on let's just worship him for a moment before we read our scripture text Father oh we love you Lord you are a god of Miracle signs and wonders tonight lordy today in this altar service I believe healing is going to take place I believe the Holy Ghost is gonna fall in this house I believe you want to do something great you want to do something Mighty you want to show yourself powerful aha we just want to know what are you going to do in this place today in Jesus name look with me in second Kings chapter 3. in verse number 16. I'm going to do something I don't know if I've ever done this before I'm going to read three consecutive verses found in three consecutive chapters Second Kings three Second Kings Four Second Kings five and uh they'll you're not going to get there in time they're gonna be on the screen well you might you might be able to turn the page quick enough but they're going to be on the screen for you but Second Kings 3 16 the second half says make this Valley full of ditches make this Valley full of ditches we turn the page into second Kings chapter four verse three he says go borrow the vessels abroad of all thy neighbors even empty vessels borrow not a few then one more return in the second Kings chapter five and ten go and wash in the Jordan River seven times In the Flesh shall come again to thee and thou shalt be clean I I always try hard to come up with a title for my messages that then a few weeks from from now you can hear see the title and you can you can recollect the subject that was taught that's that's typically that's typically what a preacher is going to do is they're going to put enough in the title just to make it to where it triggers the memories of the message amen and I try as I'm as I'm studying a lot of times I'll jot down a title I'll say yeah I feel God like you want it to be this title and then and then I'll scrap that one and I'll start with the next one well I've got to admit to you brother Dale asked me for my title last night and I said brother Dale I can't give you my title yet because I've already scrapped about five and I'm on my sixth one brother full and I'm not sure if that was the one either but I one of my titles was A Series of Unfortunate Events what's number one but then I thought no that doesn't really go because it doesn't end unfortunate you know it's something I I got I got this one you don't have to understand why I was like Ah that's all right I deleted that one that but one day I said I titled this doesn't make sense I thought that's not gonna go for good online they're gonna that's not gonna go for good then I put one down there's I said if you will provide a vessel God will feel I thought I like that one but it's a little bit too long so then I I feel like God gave me one that I settled on that I feel like it's gonna work out good because they're gonna go along with my topic it's just simply there's it's real original it's simply just do it you ain't never heard that one before but it's just simply just do it now before your seated let me say this I know there's a lot of bad news coming out about Nike right now and I came up with this title before I read the news this morning but this is back from 1988. this is back from the 80s this is the good old days this was a slogan they used and I just believe today's going to go along my message I believe if we will just be obedient to the word of God come on it's crazy some of the stuff that he's asking us to do some of the things and we're going to hear about this Prophet Elisha and the things that he told people to do but if we will be obedient to the word of God no matter if it makes sense or not if we will just do it okay I feel the Holy Ghost already I'm excited to preach this message because I believe somebody in this place is going to receive your miracle in this house today come on help me pray this prayer father Lord we've already thanked your lord God for being good we've already told you Lord that you're our God your savior you're our lord lord and you're our creator but Lord today we need you to create some new things in people Lord God we need you to to continue in your creating business and Lord God make a way where there doesn't seem to be a way and we're going to be obedient to whatever you tell us to do in your word Lord if you said it Lord we're gonna obey it today come on if you'll agree put your hands together and let's just love him with our voice lift up your voice and say I love you Jesus come on say I love you Jesus and I gotta have you in my life you may be seated in this place today just just do it nobody say that just do it I believe it was 1988 if I'm not mistaken television commercial they didn't even mean they it was just it was just a uh it was a it was a seasonal slogan that Nike started using in in somewhere in the fall of 1988 and and when they when they began when they began to use the slogan it started catching fire it started catching fire away then now Nike is identified by the slogan matter of fact when I said my title a lot of you started laughing because you knew exactly what I was talking about but today and as I as I began as I began to study now I'm not gonna be talking about Jordans I'm not talking about basketball basketball shoes and and we got like sneaker heads in the house I'm not talking about that however I do believe that what they were pushing in their slogan which was simply taking action a call to action a mindset of perseverance and determination that is what I want to preach about today the first sermon title that I began with I told you was A Series of Unfortunate Events um as as Elisha took the place of Elijah his mentor um Elijah you know Elijah has some cool stories we know about the stories the prophets of Baal and the prophets of ashtarov and and we know about Elijah making the people make a decision of who they were going to serve and he has some pretty he has some pretty cool encounters but if you begin to read about Elisha in Second Kings it seems like every story we read about they're interesting because everything that God told him to tell the people most of it didn't make any sense most of it most of it I'm glad that I wasn't Elisha if you will you know there's nothing like being in middle management and your Senior Management tells you that you've got to tell the people that you manage something that you know they don't want to hear you ever been there some of you've been there somebody on middle management you know what I'm talking about your manager tells you know you need to tell you need to tell everybody under you to stop using the company card ain't nobody ever want to hear that tell Mora our budget we've we've we've run our budget to the ground tell them to stop using the card and I just believe that Elisha he probably had to feel this because whenever God spoke to him he's probably thinking to himself oh oh God are you sure you want me to tell them this message because they're not going to want to hear this message so our very first series our first event our our Series of Unfortunate Events takes place in second Kings chapter chapter three matter of fact if you will just open up your Bibles and turn there because we're going to read a little bit we're going to preach a little bit we're going to tell stories a little bit but there were three Ally Kings it was the king of Israel the king of Judah and the king of Edom and together they were going against the moabites they were going into war against the moabite Army there was a very Wicked army they were God haters they were Hebrew haters they hated the people of God and and these three kings if if you go back and you do a little research on the story these three kings they're soldiers they're cattle uh the animals the Bible calls them beasts that they rode uh they they got lost in the wilderness when they were on their way to fight against the mall by an army it seems kind of odd to me but God told them to go through a certain Wilderness and when they were going through this Wilderness they traveled for some seven days and they got to a place where there was no water matter of fact I I believe it was some four days they were into their Journey when they discovered we have no more water and and science tells us that after three days without water the body begins to shut down our very organs begin to shut down our body is ran off of water somebody said amen and so look with me in verse 14 because as we understand the backstory of where we're about to read we got armies that I'm telling you they're in a desert place they're thirsty they're hungry they're tired they've been lost for far too long we've got free kings that are upset they're discouraged matter of fact they come up with the idea that obviously God has gotten us this place he's gotten all three of the Kings all three of the armies together so we can be destroyed and one of the Kings the king of of Judah he simply says is there not a prophet that we can call in and hear the word of the Lord and so somebody tells me said yeah Elijah's no more but he has he has a man the Bible says that they said they poured water over over Elijah's hands his name is Elisha and so they bring in Elijah look look with me in verse 14 14 says and Elisha as the Lord of hosts to liveth before whom I stand he said this surely were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah I would not even look toward the Northeast he he said if it wasn't for the king of Judah I wouldn't even be here but he said in respect to him verse 15 says he said but now bring me a Minstrel or bring me a musician and it came to pass that when the minstrel played that the hand of the Lord came upon Him simply what this means if this was translated into our Modern English it would simply mean when the musician began to send up worship and praise to God the spirit of God spoke to Elisha the spirit of God came in his presence sat upon the prophet Elisha you know we didn't come up with this idea of having choirs and and worship teams and musical instruments we we don't do this in a way to entertain I'm thankful for our Music Department let me just kind of put a pause right here I'm thankful for our Music Department I'm thankful for our sound I'm thankful for the lighting uh we have designers that are designing our screens and we have camera people and we have technicians and production assistants that are absolutely amazing God has given us the best of the best but here's the deal it's not for our entertainment it's not this so the genre that we love the most can be sang this is not air one this is not love 89 we're not trying to appease the listeners in the house this is for an audience of one the reason why we do what we do is so the presence of the Lord would come and Reign among us we are here for our Express reason we worship God through music and we want God to respond through his word tell our choir all the time we tell our worship team all the time when my wife and I when we go and speak at music conferences we got the main thing has got to remain the main thing and that is simply this our job is to prepare the hearts of the people to receive the word of God and so when Elisha when he said listen I know I'm in front of these three important Kings and I know there's a lot of desperation that's in the house if you will and I know they're wanting me to to respond to them and they want me to get a word from the Lord but there is no word from the Lord unless I get the Lord's attention and so he said the very first thing that I need I need you to bring me in a musician bring me in somebody that can play a sweet Psalm before the Lord and can get God's attention because he said I'm not going to hear from God unless first there's some worship that goes up to the throne room of God so when our choirs sang listen and I'm so thankful we have our our church we have the greatest people I don't ever hear complaints about what we're seeing I don't hear complaints about styles I go around and hear horror stories from churches where oh our our older generation doesn't like our music or our younger generation doesn't like the style of our music or or this generation thinks it's too loud this generous doesn't think it's loud enough and this generation thinks that we ought to be singing southern gospel in this generation thinks we always thinking uh black gospel contemporary gospel I'm so thankful that you all aren't like that I'm so thankful that we have a church that just understands what our role is in music and you're good at it you're really good quiet you're you're really good at it because every time you think you were singing today and the Holy Ghost just filled this room have you ever um have you ever walked into service let's say you you got off work a little bit late maybe a Wednesday night didn't even have time to change you just rushed into church you got here and maybe maybe the preacher was just getting up to teach maybe on a Sunday night you rushed in off work and preachers just getting up to preaching you know how hard it is to get into the service and to start feeling something when you haven't been in the presence of the worship and I'm talking about I've done it I've been on I've traveled in from out of town and just kind of slipped into a surface it's hard and I just believe that's what Elisha was doing Elisha was like listen I'm going to hear from the Lord but the very first thing I need I need a musician to come in here and get the presence of God to lay his hand upon me so look look with me now we move in so verse 15 it came to pass when the musician played the hand of the Lord Came Upon Elisha verse 16 and he said thus saith the Lord make this Valley full of ditches no again we have soldiers that are dying of starvation we have soldiers whose bodies are about to shut down because their organs are craving water in a way they need water so bad they're desperate I said they're desperate and I've heard this said before but desperation is the door that I just believe that a miracle can walk through in our life I believe desperation is the door that a breakthrough can walk through in our life I believe if we're desperate enough we get the man of God in our lives and we say man of God what thus saith the Lord and so here they are and Elisha says God is telling me you need to go and dig some ditches so he continues for the state of the Lord ye shall not I like this right here you shall not see the wind neither shall you see rain yet that Valley shall be filled with water that ye may drink both he and your cattle and your Beast so follow follow with me what's happening here he says come on guys we're going to go and we're gonna dig ditches in this desert land however there's not going to be a storm there's not going to be rain a monsoon is not going to come in rainy season is not going to start God's going to find and give us another way where this place is going to be filled with water I'm here to preach about the unexplainable yet the undeniable I'm coming here to stop and preach that there's some things that God is going to ask from us that make absolutely no sense I'm going to say that again he's going to ask things of us that don't make sense we can't explain the who we can't explain the what the where the why the how he just gonna tell us to do something and where could he either obey him and receive our Miracle or we're going to say God that's too crazy for me we're going to step back and nothing's gonna take place in our life I don't know about you but it's from me in my house I'm gonna come up with a way to follow after whatever he tells me to do it doesn't matter what makes sense it doesn't matter if other people are doing it or not it doesn't make sense how much pain I'm in what opinion I have Lord if you tell me to do it I'm gonna obey and I'm gonna do it I just believe there's somebody here today is needing healing and we're trying to help god with our miracle we're saying God I need you to send me this certain specialist I've got sickness in my body and God's want to tell somebody in this house I'm gonna heal you and I don't even have to send you a doctor there's marriages that are messed up in this place that need healing within your marriage and you're saying if I can just find the right family counselor God then my marriage will be whole and God said I don't even need to send you a family counselor some of you don't have some of you have have less months then you have money or maybe I should say you got more months than you have money and bills are due and and you're trying to come up with ways on how to pay your bills and and you're saying God if you could just somehow put a check in now my mailbox and God's saying I've got a way to bless you but it's not how you think you're going to be blessed I know that in the mind of of Elisha he was probably thinking to himself God can I just tell them that it's going to rain can I just tell them that if they dig the dishes that rain is going to fill the ditches and they're going to be able to drink water to their full into their content but God said that's not what I'm telling you it's going to happen a different way than you think it's gonna happen I'm gonna provide for you where there doesn't seem to be a way I just believe here today Elisha is trying to tell somebody in this house I'm gonna do a work in your life and you're not going to be able to explain it your co-workers are not going to be able to explain it to your family's not going to be able to explain it to everybody's just going to look at you and say somehow some way they received a miracle and we have no idea how it happened Verse 18 look at verse 18. and this Elisha said is but a light thing in the sight of the Lord he said he said this is easy for the Lord you're starving you're in desperation you're panicking because people are falling out because people's bodies are shutting down he said this is nothing for my God can do anything my God created something when there was nothing he says it's an easy thing for the Lord he said he will deliver the moabites also into your hand he said not only are you going to receive a miracle but this Army that you fear the lord said the paddle is mine I'm going to deliver them into your hand and you shall Smite every thin City every choice City and shall fail every good tree you're going to stop up the wells of their water and their Wells and and Mar every good piece of land was stones and it came to pass in the morning when the meat offering was offered that behold there came Water by way of Edom and the country was filled with water let me just recap this very quickly the soldiers dug all night long the next day the Lord's pins water doesn't send it by rain or storm but he feels the water with he feels the valley with water and I got to thinking right here in order for God to nourish me I've got to present to him a vessel something that he can pour nourishment into we're gonna see right here that in Elijah the stories of Elisha it always seemed like there was a vessel needed in order for something to be poured out in order for a miracle to take place God was always telling Elisha I've got to have something to pour my spirit into I've got to have something to pour water into and right here God showed the people if you will dig ditches I'll feel whatever you dig with whatever you need Hey listen everyone would have just got wet if there would have been no ditches if there would have been no pit if they would not have dug but because they obeyed the Lord Look What the Lord Has Done he began to fill their vessels with water verse 21 says and when all the moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them they gathered all that were able to put on Arbor and upward and stood at the border they were they were waiting on the free armies to come they were like come on come and get it and they rose up early in the morning and the sun's Shone upon the Water watch this right here that same water that they took ditches and God filled those ditches with water God allowed the moabites to look at the water and it was as red as blood simply what happened was the red the Red Sun began to rise in the morning and began to reflect on the water and the water looked like blood in verse 24 says and they came to the camp of Israel because verse 23 said they said this is blood the Kings have surely slain they have smitten one another now therefore they said let's go and let's get the spoil and so here they come and they're really and their Israelites rose up and smote the moabites so that they fled before them but they went forward spotting them more bites even their own country and they beat down the cities and on every good piece of land cast Every Man Has Stone and he filled it with stones and they stopped up the wells of water they failed the good trees only in turkishness let they the stones thereof how be it the Slingers went about him and smote it let me tell you God is such a good God this story about here you don't hear this story preached very often but this is God's saying I'm not only going to take care of you but I'm going to fight a battle for you in a way to confuse your enemy the very thing you stayed up all night and dug these ditches out you stayed up all night and because of your obedience I sent you a miracle and put water in those ditches and because there was water in those ditches it confused your enemy and when your enemy was confused they did something they never would have done and that was they came into your camp come on think about this God has a way of confusing your enemy from what he feels Your Vessel with I don't want to get too far ahead of myself because I just believe the Holy Ghost is going to fall at the end of this message but I just believe that God is giving us a vessel that if we will open up and we will empty it and let God feel it I believe it's going to confuse the very enemy that tries to war against our soul if we will see it as more than just a miracle but God my Holy Ghost inside of me the Bible says greater is he that is within you than he that is within this world we can confuse the Enemy by the very power that he fills us with so many shall power enemies sees the water sees the red reflection assumes his blood and he comes on in and God proves himself that he is more than enough he can supply all of our needs oh what a great God we serve I just believe today if somebody will be obedient to the word of God I'm going to preach I'm going to go New Testament in just a few minutes but if you will be obedient to what the word is teaching and what God wants us to do in this place I just feel that God is going to reward you the same way he rewarded his people in the Old Testament and he's going to make a way for you to receive something you've never received before so then we turn the page into second Kings chapter four and again the very next story we find Elisha but in instead of digging ditches and valleys in chapter 4 verse 1 the Bible says now the cried a certain woman of the wise of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha saying thy servant my hand my husband is dead and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the lord and the Creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondsmen and Elisha said unto her what shall I do for thee tell me what hast thou in the house and she said thine handmade hath not a thing in the house save a pot of oil so then he said go he said you got to go out in the neighborhood you got to borrow vessels he said in borrow not a few he said I need empty vessels I need your boys to go out I need them to find every single vessel they can find in the neighborhood bring him back here he said I want you to lock yourself in the house and I want you to begin to pour out your oil that you have left in the house and I want you to see what I can do if you'll bring me some empty vessels he said I just want to prove to you something I want to prove to you this is that what you have is enough and I can take what you have and I can create a miracle in your life that will sustain you it's going to sustain your family it's going to sustain your sons when the creditors come to take your sons oh there is a devil there is an enemy of this world that's after our children you better believe it you you better turn on listen I don't like to to always be watching the news I don't like to always be uh you know there's there's enough Breaking News to drive someone care crazy if you know what I'm saying man every five minutes I used to have an alert on my phone and Fox News would make that Bell and there was a breaking newsletter about every five minutes until I find out that every bit of news is breaking news and I was glued I was glued in my phone like what's happening now who's going into this school who's going who's shooting up this place who's going into this mall this store who's at the post office who's going postal today shooting up a post office who's doing this who's doing that I finally I got discouraged of it but at the same time we can't ignore what's taking place in our society at the same time we got to realize that there's an enemy that's after the Next Generation This Woman's husband he had been of the school the prophets This Woman's husband had been a man of God he was a good man he was a faithful man in This Woman This widow she said my husband's dead but I need you to remember how faithful he was to the kingdom of God how faithful he was to Jehovah God and I want you to know this world is after my boys and I can't lose my boys and so Elisha once again he says oh the Lord's telling me to do for you to do something and I promise you it's not going to make any sense he said he said what do you got in your house and she's a mother hammer she says I got nothing he said I got nothing he said oh accept save I do have a small pot a small vessel of oil that's all I've gotta I I cook I cook meals I'm a baker I bake bread all I have left is just a little bit of cooking oil is all I have left he said well that's all you have that's all I need he said because if you will go out and get into your neighborhood and let me tell you something your neighbors are not going to understand when you start knocking on the door and asking them for the vessels of their house how would you how would you feel in your in your neighborhood in your subdivision if your neighbor started knocking on your door and said hey hey you got any possible plants in them I need you to take the plants out I need your pop what kind of candles what kind of frying fans I understand anything that will hold a substance I I need you to bro I need you to bring it to the door I need to take it with me and her boys I get to see her boys carrying out stacks of pots and pans coming back to Mama and dropping them off mama said hey the prophet said get as many as you can go back out go find some more that that makes me think about this your neighbors are not always going to understand why you do what you do oh no the things that God requires of us oh the things that he requires of us our neighbors people of our community they're not going to understand they don't understand why we Pentecostals do what we Pentecostals do they don't understand this talking in another tongue thing my wife and I we we got to minister and brother Jordan Atkinson's Church in in Winchester this weekend Friday night we got to preach there on Saturday we were going throughout his town and he was telling me about business owners he said this business owner he was in church on Eastern this business owner he brought 20 people with him to church on Eastern and this business and he was just driving us through showing us all kinds of great things happening and let me tell you something you would be so proud of the work that he and Sister Alyssa are doing right there in Winchester but he made a comment that made me laugh because there was there's this one business owner and he was inviting him to Eastern Church in the business owner he said I just got to ask you a question he said you all don't do all that speaking in tongues crud do you except he didn't say crud and Jordan was like he said you just come to church and you see what it's all about that people don't understand people here people get the wrong idea about the word of God they they get you know there's enough stuff on YouTube that you can watch and and I I can see where people think that we're crazy a little bit that's so much we're crazy but other people who have taken tongues and have taken the gifts of the Spirit and doing done crazy things with them I kind of see why our neighbors are a little apprehensive when they find out that we speak in tongues you know there are snake handlers out there and sometimes people can they can relate speaking in tongues they're handling snakes and let me tell you something we ain't got no snakes here if you see a snake tell me I'm gonna run with you we're gonna run out of here we're all gonna run but I'm not just thinking what what did these people of this community think when these boys started knocking on their door saying I need a vessel I I need everything you've got in your house I gotta believe somewhere that woman was thinking to herself boys I got vessels everywhere but man well I hope the prophet knows what he's talking about this Elisha he's a little different we've heard about digging trenches and we've heard about digging in deserts I hope that he knows what he's talking about but as she locked her boys into the house with her and began to pour out that oil from her vessel and out of her pot into the other vessels that her boys had brought into the house the Bible says she began to fill up one vessel and began to fill up another vessel until she had filled every vessel in the house and as soon as she ran out of vessels she ran out of oil oh but it gets good because the prophets that now take these vessels you got vessels all over this place you got vessels filled with oil what did those neighbors think when those boys carried those vessels back home to their house and said hey I need you to buy back your vessel from me I bet they were looking at him like what are you talking about he said what what do you got in those vessels I had never seen oil that that rich I've never seen oil that pure what do you got up in those vessels he said I if you'll buy these vessels back from me this is a different kind of oil you ain't never had oil like this oil before I believe if the church will get serious about bringing vessels into the house I believe God's going to fill up this place like he ain't never filled up this place before I believe we're gonna see things take place in this house oh miracles signs and wonders but it's gonna stop if we stop bringing vessels into the house God help us to know we I don't know we have somewhere probably around 700 in in the service this morning what would happen if we brought 700 to church tonight and we had people here that needed healing in their bodies come on I want you to ask the same question I've been asking a God God what are you gonna do how are you gonna blow our minds how are you gonna amaze us because what you do doesn't always make sense how but if we will just do what he's asked us to do if we'll just respond to his word if we'll just do it I believe God's gonna put healing in this house I believe people listen his stripes are already filled with healing he said by my stripes you are healed I believe it's already in the church today we just got to respond and bring the vessels into the house somebody shout him in so that was the story that that was that was his second story that was second Kings chapter four what about second Kings chapter five I got one more and I have a long time to really go into this this story but I I think that most people know about Naaman he was the captain of the host of the king of Syria he was a great man with his master honorable because by him the Lord had given Deliverance unto Syria he was also a mighty man in Valor but he was a leper now I'm preaching I preach probably all of these different stories here but I've never preached them consecutive how they fell in a timeline and I think to myself God what a series of unfortunate events we have we have a we have a uh armies that are that are that are dying that are starving to death that need water you gotta you got a widow woman whose creditors are about to come and take her sons away because of her debt and now you have a Syrian you have someone that's not even of the Hebrew bloodline and now they're coming over they're coming over to see if they can get a miracle from this guy from this Prophet named Elisha I think to myself Elijah man you have some challenges you had some hard situations you had some unfortunate events that you had to partake in oh but Elisha he wasn't scared of it because he understood it's not my power it's not by my might but it's by the power of the Lord that works through me sometimes I think that that people depend on us and and we get a little nervous because we don't have all the answers it's not by your power I don't know you're not healing anybody you're not you're not performing any miracles in anybody's life all you're doing is is You're simply the one you you're my voice you're my hands you're my feet I just need you in a place where I can work through you and so sure enough Elisha Elisha didn't even go out to lay hands upon him it wasn't any power that Elisha had as the man of God God simply told him tell the servant to have Naaman go to the Jordan and dip down seven times and when he comes up after the seventh time he goes down he's going to be clean his skin is going to be clean but here's the problem this Syrian he has some pride and he said you know what the river's back home in Syria are much cleaner than the Jordan the Jordan is a nasty the Jordan is a polluted it's a dirty River he said I'm not going to get in the Jordan River why would I get in the Jordan River and the Bible says that when he left he left in a rage anybody ever seen anybody that has road rage do any of you have road rage man rage is ugly charades raised rage causes you to do crazy stuff foreign yesterday I'm driving home and I'm getting the median to cross the interstate and as the lady polls right next to me where I can see the track the oncoming traffic and I just said come on lady she's giving me the eye and my wife said Chad be nice and I said I said be nice that was nice if I had had road rage you've seen that happen babe people are crazy out there and the Bible said that this Army Captain they said he left so mad he had rage and his little servant said to him master if the prophet had asked you to do some great thing if the prophet had had asked you and then I'm going to paraphrase a little bit but if the prophet had asked you to go into some battle and trying to defeat some great warrior he would have done anything you had to do to get rid of that leprosy in your body but all he's asking you to do is go and dip seven times in a muddy river and you ain't gonna do you're gonna have rage because of that and I just think to myself that God is looking at us and saying I'm just asking you to do a small thing why is it that you can't do exactly what I ask you to do and some of us need a little servant next to us just kind of tapping us and saying I believe that little service called conscience tapping us and saying I believe it's called conviction tapping us and saying hey hey it's not that big of a deal why don't you just do what God's telling you to do and if you would just follow through with what God's telling you to do he would have a miracle in your life you would yeah it's not gonna make sense because God's ways are not our ways his thoughts are not our thoughts I still can't explain to you why him going down seven times in the Jordan River healed him but he did he finally did what the prophet asked him to do and when he did he came up healed I believe it was your grandfather I believe brother Hammond not too long ago was telling a story about his grandfather who would tell people if you want your healing you go back to the back wall and hit that wall five times and brother Johnson I'm sure he had some people look at him and say oh Bishop you you've got to be crazy go and slap the wall five times them crazy apostolics but they would do it and God would perform a miracle in their life I can't explain why Papa Hammond told them to do it it makes no sense to me while tapping a wall slapping a wall five times would do anything but put fingerprints on it I don't even know why you would do that it makes no sense to me but if God tells you to do it you better take you better take all reason away and just say Kata if you're telling me to I will just do it doing it trying to get it explained to you don't try to look it up well I gotta find that for myself in the word oh no it's not in the word nowhere in the Bible does it say if you dip seven times you're gonna get healed it worked for him because he was obedient to the Lord nowhere in the Bible does it say if you collect a bunch of vessels You're Gonna Fill them with a substance it worked for her because the man of God told her to do it because God told the man of God to tell her to do it so I'm just wondering today I'm wondering with you how is it going to work out with you because as I move into the New Testament oh as I move into the New Testament there are things that we have been commanded to do that don't make sense I heard the funniest oh my word I heard the funniest story and if I got this wrong please forgive me but I believe a couple weeks ago I was visiting brother Nash in the hospital and I think if it wasn't him that told me I think it was but he told me this story he said I was listening to a preacher preach on the radio station he said I was driving through a town I had the Christian radio station on I was listening to a preacher and he said this and I want to make sure I have it right he said the preacher on the radio he's mentioned the book of Acts and he told his audience he said don't even go there you're gonna get confused what he was telling his audience brother Ferguson he said don't even read the book of Acts you read the book of Acts you're going to get confused that Roman rule is not going to make sense anymore if you read the book of Acts and I kind of get it because if you're steeped in Tradition if you're steeped in the in the man's philosophy I I can see where the book of Acts would be very confusing because if you feel that that coming down and and shaking the preacher's hand is where salvation takes place in where that transpires I can see where you would read the book of Acts and say well I don't see anybody coming down and shaking the preacher's hand I can understand if you feel they're baptizing someone is just a way to invite them and make them a part of your church to make them a member of your church if that's what you think the baptism is I can see where you would think the book of Acts is confusing right I can see where you would read the book of Acts and and read about another tongue and think to yourself whoa whoa what is this other tongue you tell me that I've got a say some kind of Babble and some kind of weird language is going to come out of my mouth I can stay with the book of Acts will be confusing I can see it be confusing if you think yourself that I've got to actually go down in water and my makeup is gonna have to run or I'm gonna go down the water in my do that I worked on all morning is going to get all messed up and get destroyed I can see where that would be a problem to somebody who has steeped into philosophy that simply says that believing is all you need to be saved oh I believe you got to believe to be saved but that's just the very first step that's a simple step if you think about it how can you be saved if you don't believe that doesn't even make sense you've got to First believe that Jesus is you you first got to believe that he died first you you first got to believe that he has become our savior but then you've got to take another step and and as I I began to read through the book of Acts I got to thinking to myself you know what there is a lot of confusing things if you take everything at face value and you got to explain everything that's happening because it doesn't make sense to me either that in the upper room there's a bunch of people and there's tongues like us fire sitting upon heads and there's there's a wind blowing through an upper room that has the windows closed and that's confusing if you have to have everything spelled out to you but when Faith that's where faith comes in When Faith begins to rise and you realize that God he had them there for a purpose and in Jesus he even said before I leave here he said listen I'm about to ascend but I'm going to send to you the promise of my father my spirit is Gonna Fill you go to Jerusalem because not many days hence you're going to be filled with power from on high and I can see where somebody that doesn't believe that there's any power in the church today I can see where they might be confused but if you ever feel the power that we feel in the house of the Lord on a Sunday morning on a Sunday night if you ever feel that feeling you can't deny it you may not be able to explain it but you cannot deny and so I began I began to read through the book of Acts and I was like Lord well I just don't get this I don't get how you can be confused that's two and one it simply says when the day of Pentecost was fully come they were all with one Accord in one place and and suddenly there came the sound from Heaven as of a rushing Mighty Wind and then it filled the house where they were sitting and there appeared under them clothed in tongues like as a fire and it's set upon each them and they were filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in other tongues as the spirit gave the utterance and and yeah if you don't believe in tongues I can see where you wouldn't like the book of Acts because in verse 37 now when they heard this the people who had crucified Jesus when they heard this they were pricked in their heart instead of Peter into the rest of the Apostles men and Brethren what shall we do quoted with me then Peter said unto them repent baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost for the promises unto you even as many as the Lord Our God shall call I don't know this preacher preaching on the radio you are not even calling yourself a preacher if you can't preach every book of the Bible too many people want to go to the book of Acts and just tear it out Acts chapter 4 verse 31 and when they had prayed and placed was shaken when they were assembled together they were all filled with the Holy Ghost acts 8 and 12 but when they believed Philip preached in the things concerning the kingdom of God in the name of Jesus Christ they were baptized both men and women then laid they their hands on them and they received the Holy Ghost let me tell you something there's nothing confusing about that all the apostles is going from Apostle to apostle from story to story from chapter to chapter as people are being filled with the Holy Ghost as people are being baptized in Jesus name Acts chapter 9 17 and ananias went his way and entered into the house and putting his hand upon him he said brother Saul the Lord even Jesus that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest has sent me that thou minus received thy sight and be filled with the the Holy Ghost you can't tell me it's not real it's right here Acts chapter 10 verse 44 while Peter yet staked these words the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word and they of the circumcision which believe were astonished as many as came with Peter because that on the Gentiles also somebody say also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost for they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God and answered Peter can any man forbid water that these should not be baptized which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we and he commanded somebody say commanded he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord sometimes you just kind of look at the word read the word obey the word and just do it if you're here today and you've heard you've heard Pastor Carpenter you've heard myself you've heard Pastor Hammond Pastor knowing you've heard this oh they're preaching about this Holy Ghost but I just don't know if it's for me it's for you it's for your family it's for your children it's for your Offspring it's for everyone you say well why doesn't everyone have it because you've got to obey you got to dig ditches in the desert huh you got to bring water you got to bring vessels into the house you've got to pour out oil you've got to obey the word says it's uh you've got to do it acts chapter 19 and it came to Caswell Apollos was a Corinth that Paul having passed through the upper coast and came to Ephesus in finding certain disciples listen to this right here he's said unto them have you received the Holy Ghost since yeah ye bleed and they said unto him what what Holy Ghost do you talk what what are you talking about what what Holy Ghost I believe in Jesus I believe remember that first step I believe but what Holy Ghost are we talking about they said we haven't heard of will there be so much hurt has there been and what's a Holy Ghost verse three and he's sending to them unto them what then were you baptized and they said well under John's baptism the great job the great Jesus himself said is the greatest Prophet to ever walk the face of the Earth Paul a John verely baptized with the baptism of repentance and thank God for repentance saying unto the people that they should believe on him which should come after him that is on Christ Jesus and when they heard this here we go heard this they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus and when Paul laid his hands upon them the Holy Ghost came on them and they spake with tongues they prophesied let me tell you something I just believe that when they heard the word something inside of them just said well I might as well just do it do you realize what's happening right here in acts in Acts chapter 19 do you realize that these people are already religious they're already they already believe they believe in John the Baptist they believe in Jesus they probably don't understand exactly who he was but they believed in him they understood that he did die they believed that he did rise again but now they're going to have to take something on that they've never heard before what is this Holy Ghost you're talking about so I really do have to speak in another tongue oh yes you do because the Bible clearly states that that is the evidence of you receiving the gift of God the spirit of God into your life do I have to speak in tongues yes because the word of God says you have to speak in tongues oh Naaman do you have to go down in the water seven times in the muddy Jordan yes you do because the prophet told you God told him to tell yeah you do do you have to be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins will you receive the gift of the Holy yes you will because the word of God tells us and he commanded them and he said unto them he shall those are all commanding words it doesn't say you can if you want to if you want a little extra frosting on your cake you can do it if you want an extra spiritual experience you can do it that's not what the word of God says instead if you don't go down seven times you're not getting healed if you don't dig ditches in the wilderness you're not getting water if you don't bring vessels into the into the house and lock the door you're not getting any more oil church family lift up your hands and say it's from me and my house I'm gonna do it as for me and my house I'm gonna be like the Jailer your whole family can be saved but you gotta will pay the word of God clap your hands listen to the Lord I feel a Holy Ghost in This Place I feel the Holy Ghost wanna move in this house manifest in your feet and clap your hands as hard as you can beat your hands together like you've never done it before and say God what are you gonna do in this house God what are you gonna do when this place God what are you gonna do I'm bringing vessels in I'm bringing empty festivals I'm going to repent on my sins what are you gonna fill me with somebody in this place respond to the word of God don't oh my God I feel the Holy Ghost let me be in Elisha in this house today and say you're not gonna make it unless you obey the word of God I wish I was I wish I got permission to tell the story but since I did I'm just going to tell the story and you're not going to know who it was but pastor pastor's been preaching about the rapture and a woman went home to her unsafe family he said just want you to know where all the valuables that I own are located now listen my mom does this to me every time they fly overseas no no every time they fly my mom tells me this she'll tell me she said you know where our will is Chad you know you know what our bank accounts you know all this stuff if something happens to me and Dad you know so there's a lovely woman left the service where Pastor was preaching about the rapture and brother Fuller she told her family she said y'all ain't going so you ain't living for God and you're not ready she said but I'm going and so I need to tell you where everything is so that when I'm gone and you live through the tribulation and they're like oh no no she said oh yeah she said see that see that 50 pound bag of dog food you you better store that somewhere cause you might have to eat that dog food I don't know if she was joking or not but that scares me he said you're gonna have to if you don't take on a mark on your hand or on your forehead you're gonna have to who save up some dog you better save up you better get you a you better get you a storehouse together and this is what got me family began to say oh no when the Rapture takes place we're gonna be ready oh no we're gonna be ready and she said no I'm talking about if it happens right now she said if it happens right now I'm talking about if the Rapture takes much rain now he started waking up like oh you mean you mean right now I'm not talking you may not have 10 years to make up in your mind that you're gonna live for God that you're gonna make things right he could come back right now at a in a twinkling of an eye in a blink of an eye he could come back right in this very oh my God I feel the Holy Ghost in This Place you better not wait any longer if the word of God says that you better obey it he said repent of your sins he said you've got to turn from your wicked ways and your wicked lifestyle you gotta turn away from things that are making you do things that you know God doesn't want you to do it's called repentance then he said you've got to go up get into the water of baptism listen if you've never been baptized before you have no idea what you're missing there is no better feeling I'm not talking about getting wet oh we've got clothes to baptize you with we've got heated water it's not it's comfortable it wasn't like my baptism I got baptized in a horse trough in Upstate New York in the month of January brother Hyde we had a water heater about this big in our church they brought a hose they they had a hose on the outside they had to break ice off the spigot they had a hose from the outside coming upstairs up in the upper room we had Church brought a hose and filled the rest of the baptistry with like 10 degree water but it was when I came up out of that water it was the best of my life every sin they've been holding on to me every bit of bondage everything they want to destroy their young man's alive oh when I felt that release from off my body I fell I felt as light as a feather whoa I feel like I can let me give you the best example that I can give you if you ever put a child on your shoulders that you probably shouldn't have had on your shoulders because they weighed too much you know that feeling and what it feels like when you've walked for about a mile through Disney World with them on your shoulders and then you take them off of your shoulders and you're just like oh I'm gonna float away that's what it feels like when you're baptized because all that baggage I'm looking around at me I remember how you were before you got baptized I see testimonies of people I remember what you were like before you got baptized I remember how you lived and who you hung out with what you talked about I remember where you went before you got baptized you got to agree with me today that there's no better feeling than having all those things removed for the remission of your sins the Bible it was a promise you're gonna receive the gift of the Holy Ghost but there's no promise until your sins are removed because In Your Vessel your vessels got to be clean before the spirit of God is going to dwell Inside Your Vessel Elijah Tyler Elisha said go give me some vessels get me empty Bible talks about trying to put new wine into old wine skins you try doing that and what happens I don't know that from experience but the Bible says Jesus is saying I want to give you my spirit but I'm not going to allow my spirit to mix in with everything going on in this world he said you repent of your sins you stopped doing it get in the water get all that stuff washed out of you he said and I I'll put my Holy Ghost inside of you and guess what you will speak in another tongue Bible says there's the spirit of God gives you utterance oh if you need the Holy Ghost today oh my word that's the deal is tonight tonight I believe there's gonna be healing take place I believe whatever you need you're going to be healed I believe that I believe Miracles are going to take place but I just feel oh on the onset of this night Revival we're about to partake in I just believe somebody in this place is gonna say I'll do it I'll I'll do it if I if I'm commanded I will do it nothing's too crazy nothing's too weird nothing's too odd Lord God I don't even have to understand why if your word tells me I have to do it Lord I will be the one in the altar saying Lord fill me with your spirit come on states of God lift up your hands right now I want to make a plea to this altar if you need the Holy Ghost oh my God if you need the Holy Ghost matter of fact I want to do something right now if you're part of our altar working team and in your last name is anywhere from an A to a g a to G if your last name falls under a to G I want you to come forward right now uh we can't have everybody up here that was crazy the other day but I want everybody to come forward a to G if you're in our alter working team I want you just to come forward and I
