little plugged but I don't know if you heard the same thing that I heard but we had three get the Holy Ghost and one that's going to be baptized tonight [Music] now if that gives calls for angels to worship surely to goodness the people of God have got a reason to lift up their voice tonight [Music] Hallelujah man what a great time we've been having I do give honor to you can be seated just for a minute I do give honor to your pastoral family to the McCool family I love them dearly I appreciate them very much aren't you thankful for their family tonight pastor and sister McCool bishop and sister McCool Pastor Anthony and sister Kelly Pastor Nate and sister Ashley and all of their leaders here you all do a phenomenal job I do give honor to them I don't know if I've said it yet but I'll say it tonight since it's the last night I do consider it a great honor to be able to stand up here and minister to you because around 15 to 16 years ago I was a student coming to play basketball against these teams we're going to leave that there and we would come down here and we would get to see the light that you all shine and there's moments in not all moments in life are created equal but getting to come here and minister at a church that is a Beacon of Hope not just to a lost world but to the apostolic faith I consider it a great honor why don't you give yourselves a hand tonight for being a part of such an awesome work I give honor to uh to profit uh Prophet Michael back there my friend I tell you brother mop and he's a better preacher than me and I saw him walk in I looked at brother Nate and I said listen if he's here let's just give him the mic so um I wish it were you and to the Gomez family I'm sorry that every time I come you're here and you've got to hear me preaching not somebody else um I will say this I know I'm not the best preacher in the house they're over there thank you they're they're over here and back there in different places but I do feel like God has given me a word and um but hey he gave a word to a donkey too so just remember that just remember that I'm glad to see my family here from A.T man my at family and friends of ATC thankful that you're here let's stand to our feet together for the reading of the word of the Lord [Music] this morning we did some we took care of some business and tonight we're going to do the same I know it was youth LED service but the beauty about the word of God is that it transcends age it transcends how long you've been living for God so wherever you find yourself tonight it is my prayer that you'll find something in this word that'll touch you I want to go to the Book of Joshua chapter number four and we're going to read several portions of scripture we're going to begin reading at verse number one and the Bible says and it came to pass when all the people were clean passed over Jordan that the Lord spake unto Joshua was saying take you 12 men out of the people out of every tribe of man and command ye them saying take you hints out of the midst of Jordan out of the place where the priest's feet stood firm 12 Stones you shall carry them over with you and leave them in the lodging place where ye shall Lodge this night then Joshua called the 12 men whom he prepared had prepared of the children of Israel out of every tribe of man and Joshua said unto them pass over before the Ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder according into the number of the tribes of the children of Israel that this may be a sign among you that when your children ask their fathers in the time to come saying what mean you be that by these Stones then ye shall answer them that the Waters of Jordan were cut off before the Ark of the Lord when it passed over Jordan the Waters of Jordan were cut off these Stones shall be for a memorial and to the children of Israel forever we're almost done two more portions of scripture then the children of Israel did so as Joshua had commanded and took up 12 Stones Out of the midst of the Jordan as the Lord spake unto Joshua according to the numbers of the tribes of the children of Israel and carried them over with them into the place where they lodged and laid them down in verse number nine I don't want us to miss this part and Joshua set up 12 Stones in the midst of Jordan in the place where the feet of the priest which bear the Ark of the Covenant stood and they are there until this day now I might preach something controversial tonight but I'm going home tomorrow so the bishop and the pastor can fix it when I leave but I want to preach to you under the help of the Holy Ghost tonight unseen altars unseen altars so this is what I'd ask for us to do I know I'm in an Apostolic church that believes in the power of Prayer I would ask that we do two things tonight as we pray I want you to pray that God will have his hand upon the rest of this service but I'm still a young buck okay I'm only 33. to some of you that's really old but I still feel young and I still get nervous so I want you to pray that God will touch my heart and my lips that I can deliver the word he would have for all of us tonight let our hands and our voices together Lord we thank you for your blessings that we felt throughout this entire Revival we thank you for every person filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost and for the one that's going to be baptized tonight God I pray right now over this service that every person under the sound of my voice or whether they be here or watching online that we will begin to move into positions so that you can work in our hearts and in our minds tonight God I pray that as we go into this word that you'll open up my heart so that I can deliver what you would see fit not what I want but what you want Lord God I pray and I rebuke anything that would try to hinder or bind tonight and I pray that we will walk in the Liberty that you've given us God do signs Miracles and wonders and renew our hearts by the power of the Holy Ghost this evening and everybody said in Jesus name before you're seated high five two or three people and tell them you're gonna see it you're going to see it you're going to see it proud of my kids coming up here I will say this pastor McCool said they came to hear me preach one thing I've realized about teenagers there's always ulterior murder motives I love them but there's always ulterior motives there's a girl somewhere or something brother foreign but I'm glad that they're here it was September the 11th in 2001 that I sat in school on a dreary morning not too far from here and I watched as a teacher rolled a television into our classroom with an antenna some of y'all don't know what that is so that we could watch the news of what was taking place in New York City the events were terrifying but to my young mind they seemed at 12 years old almost unreal as I watched in horror as men and women would leap from tall buildings to their certain death because they knew if they were to stay they would definitely die at 10 30 a.m Eastern Standard Time the last Tower collapsed and rescue efforts turned into recovery efforts and this is a moment in our nation's history that would be one that my generation and the ones before it will never forget much like Pearl Harbor before it in that moment we were thrust into the throes of rebuilding while fighting a war on terror Halfway Around the World our country wasn't attacked in an attempt to bring it to its knees but instead of weakening its resolved it somehow made it stronger while men and women were sent out to fight on foreign soil others descended upon Ground Zero in the heart of the financial district of New York City I've had in my time as a respiratory therapist the great pleasure of taking care of First Responders that are now dealing with the Fallout of their attempts to rescue and rebuild men and women whose bottle bodies are riddled with pain difficulty breathing and heart problems all because they tried to rescue others but I've also had the distinct pleasure of visiting New York City I've walked to the pools where the towers were once positioned the names of the lives of all that were lost inscribed into the beautiful metal structure at the epicenter of this defining moment in our nation's history and its future there now stands the 911 museum the 911 memorial in the warm World Trade Center these monuments were built to remind those of lives lost of peril endured and that faithful moment where our world changed forever but as we look across the world there are monuments of equal importance erected by individuals whose lives were impacted by what they are seeking to remember they've been built for centuries if you go to Keystone South Dakota you will find Mount Rushmore that was built to honor the sitting Pro or the presidents of the United States but also the first 130 years of U.S history you could go to the Taj Mahal that was completed in 1648 that was completed by an emperor to honor his third wife and it Towers its Towers stand up staggering 240 feet high you could also go to Rome in Italy and find where the Roman Coliseum now stands as a protected Monument that shows the Ingenuity of the Roman people these monuments that I've mentioned and thousands others around the world were erected with the idea of celebrating lives honoring history and people and demonstrating to the Future the valuable lessons of life love and faith monuments temples and altars have been built for centuries in honor of people places and events others are built in memoriam of moments in history lest they be forgotten by the generations that come after in the Bible you'll find that David Saul Samuel Gideon Manoa Moses Balaam Isaac Abraham and Noah all built altars or monuments to God one writer noted that almost every prominent figure in the Old Testament built an altar at some point and we'll find in the story that we read tonight that Joshua was no different and these portions of scripture we read this evening you find that Joshua is leading the children of Israel toward Jericho two spies have already gone and they've spoken with Rahab the Harlot concerning their plans to overthrow the city they've now returned and Israel again is on the move to their promise but they come to the River Jordan and God commands Joshua to command the priest to take up the Ark of the Covenant and go stand in the middle of the river as their feet step into the Waters of that flowing body of water the waters recede and the priests stand no longer in a stream or a river but now in a Divine Pathway to the promise Joshua then commands the children of Israel to take up 12 Stones from the priests or from the feet of the priest one for each tribe and place them on the riverbank where they lodged for a memorial in Joshua 4 and 6 it says that this may be a sign among you that when your children ask their fathers in time to come saying what mean ye by these stones and you shall answer them that these Waters of Jordan were cut off before the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord when it passed over Jordan the waters were cut off and these Stones shall be a memorial and to the children of Israel forever he was letting them know that the memorial that they built will tell a story to others that see it it will tell everyone that looks upon it what God did for them that day I'm here to tell you tonight and God sent me to remind you that if you've ever been touched by the mighty hand of God that you stand in this house as a memorial of the good things of a great God if you've ever been touched by the miraculous power of Jesus Christ then you stand as a memorial as to what he can do and like the stones pulled out of the midst of the Jordan they were brought from the miraculous presence of God in place where all can see him if you've been touched by God I want you to stand to your feet and I want you to clap your hands and I want you to let everybody let everybody let everyone look on the memorial come on look at the memorial standing around you some stem stands miraculous healings some stand as deliverance from drug and addiction but we are memorials [Applause] I stand you stand has a memorial of the miraculous you stand as a memorial to his faithfulness you stand as a memorial to his provision let me tell you tonight don't you underestimate your testimony because when you approach things in life and you don't know how in the world you'll ever overcome you can look to someone else and you can say God brought them through so I know he can bring me through and when God brings you through you'll stand on the River Bank of Life as a memorial to what he can do if he's done it before fac he can do it again he's still working miracles he's still providing he's still making a way [Applause] I can see the memorial of what he's done 12 on the riverbank but scripture records that Joshua would take 12. and he would put him at the feet of the priest 12 where they lodged on the river 12. where the feet of the priest stood those stones they were covered by the water when the priests feet vacated the river's bad it would be 12 stone scene but it would be 12 Stones unseen and the Bible records they're there till this day many things would take place over the next several years at this River as children would play they would do so besides stones that stood on the riverbank that signified that the hand of the Lord was upon Israel as Shepherds would bring their thoughts to drink of the river's Waters they would pass by stones that were placed there that showed that the god of Israel is the true one and living God as Merchants would look for a section of the Jordan River to pass over safely and bring their merchandise to new buyers they would pass by Stones taken by the men of Israel and placed on the riverbank to show the faithful character of their loving God and for hundreds of years it would take place men women children families priests Kings slaves and others would pass by this Monument built to remind the children of Israel and all of their descendants that God is alive then God is a God that cares for his people they would walk by and see a Monument built because of the goodness of God but steps away they would never know that their stones that lie underneath the Raging Waters of the Jordan River that lie as a memorial there was one that wasn't seen so as children played but beside the 12 Stones unseen they had no idea that feet from where they were there were 12 more that were hidden as Shepherds looked at the stones that were on the riverbank they had no idea that just feet from the noses of their sheep drinking from the river's Waters was stones that lie hidden as Merchants would pass over the river they had no clue that the Hooves of their horses and the wills of their carts could pass by inches away from a monument that no one has seen since that day many have written about why Joshua Joshua placed those stones there but scripture doesn't tell us he gives us the reason for the twelve that we could see but what about the ones we can't they would remain unseen unless the river were to dry up unless there were a drought you would never see him they would always be covered by the water but something happened around 555 years later there would be a a Prophet by the name of Elijah that would walk up to the River Jordan With His companion Elisha and when he did he would take of his mantle and he would strike the waters and in that moment the Jordan River that once covered 12 Hidden Stones would open up and I wondered did he see 12 Stones that were hidden for 550 years did he look with his own eyes something that was placed by Joshua there half a millennia earlier but he wouldn't be the only one Elisha would go over and he would see his his leader his teacher his Rabbi called up into heaven and the Bible says the mantle of Elijah would fall to the ground and Elijah would take the mantle and walk back to the river he would take it he would strike the waters and Proclaim where is the Lord God of Elijah and in that moment the same thing would happen for him the waters would recede giving him a place to walk across and I wonder when he did it he looked down and did he see 12 Stones have one slide hidden this is what I believe so this is where if your pastor disagrees he's right and I'm wrong unless you're sitting in that Pew over there then I'm right here's what I believe I believe the 12 scene we know what they were for they were for the 12 tribes of Israel they were what was there in the moment but I believe the 12 unseen or the 12 Apostles of the New Testament because he was showing them hey I've got 12 that are here right now but I've got 12 that are to come how do I why do I believe that well Revelations 21 I got into an argument the other day with a guy and he tries to tell me this is this this is heaven well I believe it's the church when John the Revelator started speaking in Revelation 21 I believe he's speaking of the church and I'll tell you why he saw four walls and those four walls were 12 gates and each one of those Gates had one of the names of the 12 tribes of Israel's imprinted on it but then there was a foundation I don't know if you've ever built a house but you can't see the foundation of the house it's not meant to be seen and on the foundation was the 12 names of The Twelve Apostles let me tell you what God was telling them and I feel the Holy Ghost in This Place right now what God was trying to tell them you built a memorial that people could see but there's one under the water that no one can't and it's of what's to come I'm sending something that's better that the law could not do because it was weak in the flesh I'm sending something better Jesus is going to teach them and they're going to fulfill the law and the prophets I'm sending something better for my people what message does that give us today how do I apply this I get it I blew my mind too I was like holy smokes Batman you know and then you go and you look at when Elijah's up on the up on the top of the mountain and he takes out 12 Stones and he builds an altar but he gets 12 buckets of water and he pours 12 buckets of water Bishop all over that altar the stones 12 tribes of Israel the 12 buckets of water the 12 apostles it's the formula what happens then the fire falls from heaven and what is he saying if you take the twelve that I had in the Old Testament and you listen to the 12 I've got in the New Testament what you're going to find is you're going to find yourself in the book of Acts on the day of Pentecost when they were all in one place with one mind and in one Accord and suddenly there came from Heaven a sound from Heaven as of a mushy rushing Mighty Wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared unto them clothed in tongues God gave us a beautiful pattern for Pentecost stuff foreign it shows us that sometimes we will stand as memorials to what God has done but they don't see us praying in our prayer closet they don't see any crying tears they see me at church but they don't see me asking God God I need you to make a way they see me come in and given the offering but they don't see me begging God God please bring my children back home let me tell you what you're doing in private right now is building an altar of what God is about to do in your life you've got to build altars in your prayer closet you've got to build altars in your life so that he can do something you got to build altars young people young adults listen to me tonight you will never be used in the altar if you do not build an altar you will never be used in the ministry if you do not find yourself laying down on your face at times not able to stand under your own strength but spending time in the sweet presence of God do you know where they took those 12 Stones from the feet of the priest what was on their shoulders it was the Ark of the Covenant it was the presence of God here on Earth there are some things you will get from the presence of God Almighty that you will get nowhere else and when you get them you don't have to tell people about them you just keep on building an altar and then one day what you've been praying God will do will come to pass and it will be a monument to what God has done come on let's clap our hands to the Lord come on we got to have faith and believe tonight we've got to have faith and believe tonight God I know I've been praying for a long time but I don't believe you're done just yet I don't believe you finished with me yet I believe Miracles are still going to happen God we get so hung up on it not coming to pass we get so impatient just like Abraham God I wish you'd take care of this now we forget that in our moments of pain God is trying to teach us lessons God's waiting room is never wasted the moments where we sit delivery around and we watch and we wait on God to move we're praying and we feel like we're spinning our Wheels why don't you just let God teach you a lesson why don't you just let God show you hey I've tried to show you again and again why don't you just trust me you know how many times I've I've tried to say God I'm ready now I'm ready now but God was saying just hold on just wait because the right thing at the wrong time is a curse but the right thing at the right time is a blessing sometimes we can force God's hand sometimes we can feel like sometimes we can grow too quickly Pastor Nate I was talking to to brother Matthew about this on one day this week when Friday when we were hanging out I get young people y'all are here tonight I'm glad y'all get to hear this that tell me hey I want to do something great for God I'm glad I'm so glad I don't know if you all know this or not but our Apostolic Faith is not dying there's people all around this world that are young and ready to take up the mantle and my goodness am I so happy about it but my job as their pastor I want to get him rooted I want to get him grounded but did you know with a fruit tree you can't let it produce fruit within the first two years because if you let it produce fruit its roots aren't deep enough to sustain production if it produces fruit too quickly it will kill the tree but if I come along you know Jesus said he said when you start producing I'm going to prune you back so that you'll produce more but if you produce too quickly it'll kill you but we get so frustrated oh why not now I'm ready now and all the while we don't understand God is right there saying just give me a minute right now I feel that in this generation and in this place tonight I feel like I heard from God and he's telling some people he sent me to talk to two types of people tonight the first is that you built altars in private and God's going to bring it to pass but there's others listen to me tonight that are wanting the great things of God but before you'll ever see it you got to find yourself in his presence and you've got to build an altar that nobody sees you got to build an altar that nobody will look at you've got to have a relationship that no one knows about walk in silence brother Matthew different context but it still works the same way you can't walk don't walk up to people proclaiming I'm a preacher I'm a pastor I'm a this I'm a that you walk up to your leaders and you say I just want to be used I don't know what God's got for me but God's got something for me I don't know where God's taking me but God's taking me somewhere but until he does why don't you just use me if if you really believe God's Got Something Great for your life if you trust him with using him using you for great things then can you trust him in the waiting when you're going to the feet of the priest and you're getting down in the presence of God and you're taking stones and placing them under the Raging Waters of life that will not be revealed until God pushes it away oh but when he does it will be shown to everybody when backsliders come home mom will look over at her friend and say I've been praying about that when the marriage finally works out somebody will look over and nobody knew till that moment but you can say oh I've been praying God would move when empty pews turn into filled pews full of people that are seeking the gift of the Holy Ghost you can look over and you can say oh my goodness I've been praying about that let me tell you the elders we need your help because you have some pull in the prayer closet that my generation seems to forget about we need Elders that are praying building up altars that will produce fruit one day so that you can say you know what I've been praying and what I've been praying has come to pass and now God has taken what I've prayed about and he's put up an altar that says look at what I can do I'm almost finished as the musicians come I don't know what's going to happen I'll be honest oh I got to get in better shape though man so out of shape macro living where you at sorry put you on the spot you know when you pray in your prayer closet you'll be a monument that peace has returned when you find yourself alone and nobody's around and you're praying one day they'll look at the monument you've built that nobody sees until God reveals it one day you'll be able to tell people my goodness I used to be so hurt but God healed me you'll be able to look out over your life and you'll say I've been praying about this for a long time but look at What the Lord Has Done and then you know what will happen because your children will walk by I'm speaking to a multi-generational church so you understand man when I watch these kids praying in the altar I'm a father of three oh it just hits different man you see a little girl or a little boy just lifting their hands crying and praying crying out to God let me tell you they're standing beside an altar that was built when people didn't see it Stones put in place a long time ago when bishop and sister McCool moved to this town and decided to plan a work here stones that when they went into their prayer closet they started praying prayers that they may not even see come to pass why they're building altars Pastor McCool takes over you know what he did before he ever became the pastor he built altars that nobody knew about that nobody saw and that if they heard him praying in his prayer closet they may not have even understood it oh but now his grandchildren can stand and play beside an altar let their grandfather and their great-grandfather and their grandmother and their great-grandmother built with prayer I know that you look at your life and you say my god when my kids see me what do they see did you know you change it one step at a time if you've spent your entire life talking about talking bad about the ministry behind closed doors you know it can change tonight did you know that you don't have to always be a backbiter or a gossip did you know that you don't always have to talk bad about everybody around you but did you know that when you go home tonight you can look at your kids and you can say we don't talk like that anymore around here and you could start building an altar that will change the future of your family your God I must be preaching you know quiet used to make me used to make me nervous not anymore I like it lets me know I'm hitting home sometimes we spend too much time focused on everybody else that we forget to build our own altars we think about what their kids are doing we think about where that family's going I'm I'm used to being transparent my church kids they're used to that about four years ago I was on Instagram your boy had to get off you know why I was working a full-time job and pastoring full-time I was mad at the world why in the world am I having to work full time and be a pastor surely the goodness our church is big enough for me to come on full time I was mad at everybody then I'd see friends going to plant churches in Fiji and Australia and and you know the the Ivory Coast and I'm over here like my God I'm just barely breathing you know what I figured out God's not called me to build their altar he's called me to build my own you know let me tell you why though before you clap let me tell you why their altar won't sustain me what they've built will do very little for me but if I can find myself in an altar if I can find myself taking stones and and placing them one upon the other and building when nobody can see what you're going to find one day is all the work in my prayer closet God's Gonna unroll the waves of the Jordan River and he's going to allow people to see my God this God put in work my God this guy's been praying it'll be my God that family's been doing something when nobody was watching my goodness this family's been praying and fasting and seeking the face of God God wants you to build an altar tonight as we stand to our feet ah you know the other day I was preaching at my church I miss them I'm ready to see them I miss my girls got him some presents today you know Dad can't come back empty-handed you know the day of the day I was preaching so bad pastor McCool it was awful I mean it was terrible and I knew it finally about halfway through my sermon I just cut my iPad off holy to the church I said this ain't working we got to change we got to shift gears tonight I wish I could say you know sometimes we Young Bucks we forget preaching the word of God is not about a response it's not like I would love it if somebody just ran up here and fell down on their face and started crying and pulled their wig off like that would be awesome you know but sometimes God don't work like that you know what I mean but I'll tell you this whether what I've said Is Right I will let me just rephrase that I said the word of God so I know it's right it's not my word it's like you know it's not like I'm writing a dissertation that I'm looking for a good great hunt but I feel like God sent me here to tell you all this times where we start walking this that they get uncomfortable do you know why they get uncomfortable because God's knocking on your door foreign God's trying to talk to you I know it's Sunday night I know the ball's lost I know hinden hooker's knees messed up right I know it's all over in five years you'll never remember that football game but you know what you gonna remember a night at an altar where you came into contact with God so here's what I want us to do I want us to step out of our pews I think they're going to bring the lights down for us I like it when it's mood lighting bring the lights down [Music] I'm just spouting off the lip I'm going to shut this mic off for in a minute or I'm gonna say something real dumb throw them up and I it's because they leave their notes we get in trouble in the fluff and the filler I'm not going to do it if this ends up on Church milk I'm suing somebody because there's a sign said somewhere it says don't record okay here's what I want us to do we're going to kind of do like we did this morning this is my last night here I don't know when I'll be back okay this is what I'm gonna push you and here's why I'm gonna push you because I think God wants to do something in you I don't want to leave morning was the best I want to leave that tonight we gave everything we had you know why we're not having Wednesday night church and you're going to go to Thanksgiving and you're going to go into a turkey coma and all of that stuff but I want it when you come back next week that when you walk away from tonight you say my God God did something in here so I want us to lift our hands all across this place and I want us to begin to pray I want you I'm not praying over you I want you to pray for yourself right now come on I want you to reach out to God [Music] come on that's it come on we're building altars tonight [Music] come on build an altar tonight foreign [Music] [Music] okay okay we prayed for a second now we all should feel good and be able to leave but we're not going to stop there why we've really I really believe God wants to move now this is my bread and butter I love doing this why don't you find somebody to pray with [Music] find somebody don't be the preacher that looks for the person that's crying either like really find somebody to pray with you know you'll be like God called me to come over and pray for you you could see him crying from a mile away I don't want to hear that okay we're linked up together now here's what I want us to do is I want us to lift up prayer for one another that we're going to begin to build altars starting tonight that is going to lead to the healing of our families that's going to lead to the healing of our homes that's going to lead to the to the provision of God in their lives it's going to lead to this church being packed out by the end of next year I want us to pray prayer don't give God some patty patty cake prayer I want you to pray in prayer of faith why don't you think bigger tonight think of healing tonight think of Deliverance tonight come on that's it reach out in faith pray the biggest prayer you've ever prayed in this place build an altar it's build an altar tonight [Music] [Music] the Holy Ghost is sweeping through this house [Music] [Music] [Music] you are the same God [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay okay [Music] they're doing an incredible job singing But I want to say this last thing and I'm done I'm not going to say God spoke to me but I can tell you what I feel in my spirit don't limit God by the prayers that you're praying sometimes we don't pray prayers big enough God's looking at us and he's saying I want you to build a bigger altar don't be satisfied with the ordinary or with the mundane don't be satisfied with the melancholic I want you to pray a prayer that's in your heart you may be like man there's no way this would ever happen but I want you to tap into your faith tonight come on let's lift up our hands one more time I want you to pray a prayer of faith in this place God I believe you're sending Revival God I believe you're sinning come on that's it that's it break something bigger than you've ever prayed it come on pray the biggest prayer you've ever prayed don't look like it but you're gonna heal my family come on and sin pray that prayer come on that's it pray that prayer
