You need details, but true faith doesn't. I'm going to prove it to you. Hebrewsap 11 verse one. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not. Come on. >> Not seen. Faith doesn't need any details. You do. Would you pray with me right now? Lord, touch my mind, my heart. God, let me say the right things to your people this day. God, do what you do. Do what only you can do in this room, this sanctuary right now. God, heal people. Set people free. Deliver people, God. Fill them with the Holy Ghost today in the name. fill us with full to overflowing today with your precious spirit in the name of Jesus. And everybody said in Jesus name >> I'll let you be seated. Greatest words in Pentecost. Faith needs no explanation but you do. Faith needs no timeline but you do. Faith needs no guarantees, but you do. See, the difference is that if you really want to activate your faith, then you need to get rid of the idea, God, I need you to give me a full explanation of how this is going to work. You've just got to disconnect from that because the true faith that he put in your heart does not need God to give an explanation, a timeline, or a guarantee. >> It just needs you to believe it, trust it, walk in it. What faith does need, it needs the word of God. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word OF GOD. SO FAITH NEEDS THE WORD. Faith also needs your ability, unwavering support of just to walk forward and trust him with pure obedience. That's what faith needs. God rarely gives details. Rarely God gives details but always God gives directions. Oh God, but I got the direct. I need details. No, you don't. No, you do not. I believe it was 1992 in Birmingham, Alabama. I was standing in the foyer of the church and a man by the name of Robert Pennington, he's gone on to me the be with the Lord now, but Robert Pennington at the back of that church looked at me and he said, "Brother Vic," he said, "your ministry will go around the world." Now, internally, I kind of chuckled and I laughed. I thought to myself, because at that moment in my life, I'd never even been on an airplane. So, how would my ministry go around the world? 11 years later, standing on the island of Borneo, a little community called Cudat with a missionary named Steve Willoughby, I was sharing this very story with brother Willoughby about how the man of God had said my ministry would go around the world. Brother Willoughby looked at me and he said, 'Well, if you take your finger on a globe and put it on West Tennessee and you go to the other side of the globe, Brother Vic, you would find exactly where you're standing right now. Now, I could have questioned and said, "God, I need you to tell me how, when, where, and what's all the details leading up to that." But I didn't. I just simply trusted the process. And 11 years later, I was standing there as a fulfillment of God allowing my ministry to go around the world. Come on, somebody. >> You need to quit wrestling with But if I KNOW ALL ABOUT IT, then it's better for me. No, it it's not better for you. It's better for you to simply say, "God, just say go." Not how. But we would rather say, "God, tell us how." But God only really wants to say just go. Come on, somebody. God says trust. Never, brother Allan, does he say figure it out. He just simply says trust. Details often come after obedience. Details comes after obedience. Let me ask you a question. If you're a mechanic in the room, you are exempt from this question. So, exempt yourself right now. But for all of you non- mechanic people, this is the question. How is it? Or could you explain to me the details surrounding the accelerator pedal in your vehicle? Or let's put it this way. How about the brake? Can anybody tell me how the brake works in your vehicle? The mechanics of it. What happens when you push the pedal in the middle? Or if you got an automatic, the pedal on the left. But you can't explain to me the details of either one of them, right? But you're going to leave this church and you're going TO DRIVE WALK OUT in the parking lot and you're going to use your key fob or actually a key to the ignition and you're going to start your vehicle and you're going to take your right foot and or better this better this YOU'LL USE THAT RIGHT foot to move your car forward your truck forward. ward without knowing how it works. And yet you'll drive to the end of the street and you'll push on the left pedal or the MIDDLE PEDAL NOT KNOWING HOW IT WORKS. Help me without having any details. YOU HAVE NO IDEA THE REACTION from that PEDAL TO THE BRAKE chambers to the LOCKING OF THE CALIPERS TO THE DISC BRAKES CLAMPING on the rotor. You DON'T KNOW ANY OF THAT. BUT YET YOU ZOOM RIGHT TO THE RED LIGHT AND YOU PUSH ON THAT BRAKE. And yet a man or woman of God tries to share with you what God's DOING AND WHERE GOD'S taken you and what's happening in your ministry. And yet you can't believe it UNLESS GOD REALLY SO SLOWS DOWN AND GIVES YOU FROM A TO Z OR FROM POINT FROM FIRST ITEM TO SECOND ITEM TO THIRD ITEM. ALL YOU WANT IS I GOT TO HAVE ALL THE DETAILS. BUT YOU GET IN YOUR automobile without any explanation of how it works. And you trust it. You'll trust the life of those precious children in the back seat, the grandchildren. Come on, grandpa and grandma. You'll put the grandbabies in the back and man, you'll race down to the store and get to the end of the STREET AND YOU'LL PRESS ON THAT MIDDLE pedal >> without any knowledge of how it works. And yet you want God. Am I preaching to anybody? >> Am I preaching to you? That's important. I it I hope it reaches collectively, but I'm hoping I'm preaching to you as an individual. You as an individual person living for God that has always said, "God, I'm not willing to go or do until you give me more details." And I'm here preaching to you today that faith needs no details. All you need to do is step out on faith. You need to start moving towards faith. You need to start. Come on, somebody. I'm believing that. I'm trusting you. Proverbs chapter 3 plainly tells us to lean not unto your own understanding. Isaiah 55 tells us that his thoughts ARE HIS WAYS ARE HIGHER than my thoughts and your thoughts. They're higher than that. But God IS REQUIRED TO GIVE US DETAILS, BUT YET GOD IS NOT WANTING TO GIVE US DETAILS. LISTEN TO THIS. IF GOD GAVE YOU ALL THE DETAILS, then faith would not be required. It would only be an agreement. >> IF YOU HAD ALL THE DETAILS, you don't need any faith. You just need to simply sign on the bottom line and say, "We've got a contract." But instead, what is it? The just shall LIVE BY FAITH. I I'VE GOT TO PUT MYSELF THERE. I'VE GOT TO STRETCH MYSELF AND BEGIN TO GET RID OF THIS IDEA. COME ON, SOMEBODY. >> I mean, if you're from Missouri here, I understand it's going to take you a little bit longer to comprehend this. I got it. No disrespect. We'll have to pray with you a little bit longer. If you wonder where I'm going to with that, you know, they even put it on their license plate. Show me. I get it. I understand that. But do you understand that biblical faith always moved without information? This guy named Abraham, he wasn't living in a poor family. He wasn't living in a poverish country or a poverish situation. But yet he heard a word from the Lord about he was to leave and start walking. And as he left and to start walking, then the Lord began to rain in and share with him more details of what was going to happen. >> He simply said, "Everywhere the soul OF YOUR FOOT TRODS, I'LL GIVE IT to you and your lineage, your heritage will be the stars in the heavens and the sands and the seas." That's true biblical faith. True biblical faith means you start moving and then allow God to give details after you move. Anybody know Noah? I mean, can you imagine building a boat in an area where they never saw rainfall? I mean, according to the scripture, only there been a mist that came up from beneath that watered the earth. So this concept that there was going to be a rain and a rain that would cause a flood, that's a foreign concept. But yet he DIDN'T STOP. HE PRESSED FORWARD. HE PUSHED ON. WHY? BECAUSE HE HAD RECEIVED A WORD. He'd received A COMMISSION FROM GOD. AND HE SAID, "YOU KNOW WHAT, GOD? I DON'T NEED ANY details about this. I'M JUST GOING TO do it." >> How about this guy named Peter? The Bible said the disciples for fear while in the boat seeing this shadow, seeing this image, the Bible said the they assumed or thought that it might be a spirit. BUT YET THAT SPIRIT SPOKE TO them and they recognized his voice. So Peter, the outspoken one of the bunch, SIMPLY SAID, 'LORD, IF it's you, bid me to come. Now if that would have been me or you, what would we have done? Lord, what about this water? Come on, somebody. right now. Look, I swim like a fishing sinker, right to the bottom. There's no float about me. None whatsoever. And so I'm the guy that wants the life jacket. And I'm the guy that's looking at the life jacket at the poundage they put on them. I weigh 192 pounds. So, I'm looking for at least a 200 250 lb life jacket. Okay. Now, I find one and I look at it and then this is what goes through my mind. This life jacket was put together and the sticker was put on the life jacket that simply said it would it's rated for 2 to 250bs. I'm thinking that person that put that sticker on there was one day away from their vacation. And they've got five rows of stickers up here. They've got the 50 lbs. They got the 100 lb. They got the 150 lb. What if this is a 100 pound life jacket? I'm just thinking out loud, you know. I'm being honest with you that that's what I was thinking about when I think about the story of Peter. I'm looking for the life jacket that I know will hold me up, much less just hearing the word come. But pastor, he didn't get any details. He simply heard this word come and he got out of the boat. He got out of the boat and began to walk to the Lord. Go ahead. Go ahead. Tell your story and make your story point that Peter took his eyes off the Lord and begin to sink. Go on and get that out of your system. Go on. Say it. You said it. Okay. Yeah. He took his eyes off the Lord and he began to sink. Anybody know that's a miracle walking on water, right? But even after he took his eyes off the Lord, how did he get back to the boat? He still walked on water. Even after he took his eyes off the Lord and what appears to be a failure on his part, the Lord picks him back up. Come on, somebody ought to start shouting. In the middle of what you feel like is your failure, in the middle of what you felt like that is no good. I'm sewn up. I'm wasted. I'M THROWN OUT. BUT GOD PICKS you back up. My point to all that was simply Peter had one word to go on and that was come. He got out of the boat and began to walk to the Lord without requiring the Lord to give him any details about what that journey was going to be like. Now, you and I would have possibly stood on the brim OF THAT BOAT AND WE WOULD HAVE SAID, "HEY, LORD, DO YOU NOT SEE HOW BOISTEROUS THE WAVES ARE? ARE YOU NOT SEEING HOW VIOLENT THE WIND IS? AND LORD, I personally have never heard of anybody walking on water, so how's this going to work?" But he didn't do that, ma'am or sir. HE DIDN'T ASK GOD FOR ANY DETAILS. HE SIMPLY TOOK IT AT FACE VALUE. HE JUST SIMPLY SAID, "LORD, YOU SAID IT, AND I'm willing TO GO WITH IT. I'M WILLING TO WALK and come to you at whatever cost." >> Here's the pattern in modern day world. The pattern should be the call, the obedience, and then revelation. We should hear the call, we should move in obedience, and then God gives us details or revelation. But here really is what happens. We want the call, but we want an explanation. I want an explanation. Tell me how my ministry is going to go around the world in ' 92. Tell me how that you're going to fly me from this place to that place to tell me how this IS GOING TO WORK. TELL ME WHAT'S GOING TO GO ON WITH my family and tell me how my home structure WILL LOOK LIKE. TELL ME ALL OF THOSE DETAILS. We want the call. We love to slapbacks and tell everybody, "Man, Brother Vic said something over my life. He spoke a word to me and I'm holding on to it. I'm holding on to it that I'm squeeze all the good out of it. Well, what are you waiting on? I really waiting on an explanation. >> I hope this is okay. >> The truth about it is that we want a call, but we want an explanation. And I'm going to share with you why we want an explanation. And that is simply because we want to feel comfortable. The reason why we're asking God for explanations is really it's a control issue. God, if you'll give me all the details, then I'll know how to control it. If you'll give me the start from A, how I'm going to get to B, and when I'm going to get to C, then I will be able to be in control. I've told too much about myself, but my wife loves to fly a hel fly in a helicopter. And she's always wanting me to fly in a helicopter with her. It's that sound, that rumble, she says. So I told her one day, we went out to Las Vegas, went to the Grand Canyon. She said, "Buy about two tickets so what? We can fly down the canyon." I said, "Pat, the only way I'm going to fly down in that canyon is if they let me drive." True story. She said, 'First and foremost, when you tell the pilot you want to drive, he probably won't even let you own the helicopter. She said, "Because pilots fly, they don't drive." And then she said this most revelatory word to me. She says, "You have a control issue." But isn't it true about all of us? When we simply ask God, we want to call, but we're looking for an explanation. The real explanation is disguised in this political or no, not political, this churchy dialogue that we use, this churchy lingo in the fact that we're just waiting on the Lord. No, you're not waiting on the Lord. What you're really waiting on is God to give an explanation of how I'm going to get from A to B, from B to C, and C to D. When really God is simply looking at you like he did Peter and simply says, "Come." or he looks at Noah and simply SAYS, "BUILD." OR HE LOOKS AT ABRAHAM AND SAYS, "Begin to walk." I'm telling you today, I came with a word to this church today. There's too many times that we don't MOVE FORWARD ONLY BECAUSE WE'RE WAITING ON GOD TO GIVE US AN EXPLANATION. CAN WE RIP THAT WAP THAT FROM OUR VOCABULARY TODAY? CAN WE SAY FROM THIS DAY FORWARD, THE CENTERPOINT CHURCH IS simply requiring NO DETAILS, GOD? WE'RE JUST WILLING TO MOVE on faith and face alone. And we're WILLING TO TRUST YOU. It after we get the call, we get an explanation, we feel comfortable, and then we want to become obedient. The truth about it is it's all wrapped up in a control, not trust. When we ask for details, we are simply saying to God, I want to control this situation. I want to control how this works. I want to control the destiny of my faith. When yet faith only requires you and I to surrender, >> here I am, Lord. What is it you want of me? What is it you're asking of me? Come on, church. What is it you're asking of me? Look, God, what is it that you've been calling on me TO DO? GOD, I'M RIGHT HERE. I'm ready. I'm ready to step forward, >> but I've been disguising it, pastor. I've been disguising it. I'VE BEEN TALKING TO ALL MY FRIENDS ABOUT HOW I'M WAITING on God. And then you brought Brother Vic to the pull pit. And my Lord, Brother Vic stepped all in MY GARDEN. HE STEPPED on my roses. He stepped on my tulips. He stepped on all the plants that I've got. simply saying, "I've got to learn to trust God without any details." You don't need any details. You don't need no details. The Bible said he that cometh to God must first believe that he is. He is. If he's THE GOD THAT FRAMED THE UNIVERSE, THE BIBLE SAID HE FRAMED HIM ALONE. HE SEARCHED TO FIND SOMEONE THAT COULD COMFORT HIM AND BE WITH HIM, AND HE FOUND NONE. SO HE FRAMED THE WORLD BY himself and yet he now speaks into mine AND YOUR LIFE AND HE SIMPLY SAYS, "I'VE GOT A CALL ON YOU. I've got a purpose for you." And yet we are holding back saying, "But God, I really would like to have more details. I really want to do that, but God, I'd really like to know how they're going TO RESPOND. I REALLY WANT TO know what's the outcome is going to be." Now, here's the fact. We feel like that this kind of preaching is for men and women that are moving forward in ministry and men and women that are going to go hue out a church somewhere or go to a foreign country. We feel like that this kind of preaching can only apply to them. But the truth about it is it applies to every individual that wants to have a hunger and a walk WITH GOD, A DESIRE TO know God. You've got to learn to just say, "God, I I'm not asking anymore for details. I'm just willing to go at whatever." But often times, our delay is disguised in the fact that we're waiting on God. But it's really you saying, "I'm wanting more details." Wanting more details is just you and I using our spiritual language to make our fellow church people feel good about where we're at and what we're doing when really you're dying a thousand deaths inside because you already know that God has uncctioned you. God's called you. God's asked of you. It's amazing when you totally turn loose and let God what it would be like. God honors immediate obedience. We don't find anywhere about Noah delaying his walk. Noah delaying his building. We don't find where Abraham delayed his walk. And we certainly have no scriptures to prove that Peter sat back and had a do conversation with the Lord before he ever got out of the boat. We only have the word that says come and he went. James chapter 2 plainly tells us faith without works is dead. Faith does not ask if. Faith simply says, "Even if." Even if I don't see him. We used to sing that song, and I'm sure y'all still sing it, too, about even if I don't see him, he's still working. Even if I don't feel him, he's still working. We sing that song and we worship to it and we feel the power OF THE HOLY GHOST EVERY TIME WE sing it. But the truth is, are we really living examples of it? I'm not trying to be harsh to you today, but I came with a word. And that simply is the this faith requires no details. I got to quit holding back. I've got to quit waiting. Could you realize or could you possibly entertain the idea that your outreach to the next person could be the changing of their life which could be the changing of a family which could end up being the next preacher of a nation. We have stories in Pentecost of men and women that were won by somebody just randomly meeting them on the street or on their job and they becoming the next missionary or pastor of this great church work. Daniel was not found saying but if not he simply says I will not. Daniel was not willing to bow. Daniel was not willing to give up. Daniel was not willing to compromise because he knew what he heard from God. God is not obligated to explain himself to you or I. He is only obligated to faithfulness. He's only obligated to faithfulness. Come on, church. >> And faithfulness is that fact that I'm not looking for details. I'm not holding back. I'm not waiting any longer. I'm just willing to take it at face value. The musicians would come. I would appreciate it. It'll give them hope. I want you to have hope today. The media team would get ready with that last verse. I want to show you this. I feel the Holy Ghost in here today. Anybody feel that? That's right. >> Anybody feel a healing on your horizon? >> I feel it. I feel it. There's no reason it can't happen in this service today. >> Right here today. Anybody believe that? >> Anybody want to be a recipient of that? >> It's yours today. This last verse I want to show you. It's Hebrews chap 11 verse number six. But without faith it is what? >> Just stop right there. It is what? >> Impossible. It can happen. Now, we live in the world. I got a daddy, he'll make it work. I got a mama, she can make it work. I got a banker, he can buy it all out. He can make it work. Come on. We live in that kind of thinking, right? We live in that kind of thinking that, oh, we can make that happen. I tend to believe the scripture that simply says without faith it is impossible to bo to believe. I I've got to have it to please him. I can't please him. So if you are hingent on the fact that you need more details, then you're simply saying, "I'm not going to have faith until I get the details." Then I can only turn the scripture to say to you, then that means you cannot please him. I don't know about you, but I want him to say to me, "Well done. >> Well done. You did a good job. I want him to say, "You remember that Sunday you was at Center Point? Good job, Gary." I want him to say, "Well done. That was a good day." I don't want to walk out of here with no faith and him say, "You didn't please me." You and I have got to we've got to move past that idea. I could go through a whole list of things that we do at face value. You'll go to a doctor that you cannot pronounce his name and he'll scribble on a piece of paper that God knows nobody can read and take it to a pharmacist that you cannot call them by name. And they'll read it and they'll fill your prescription and they'll tell you take it three times a day without fail. And you'll Now, did I not just tell you the truth? >> That's exactly what you'll do. You'll take it at face value. BUT A MAN OF GOD stands up here for the last 35 minutes and tries to beg with you to quit stopping asking God for details and watch what God's going to do. Watch what he'll do in your family. Watch what he'll do in your marriage and watch what he'll do. Come on. Watch what he'll do in your children's life and your grandkids' life. Watch what he'll do on your job. And watch what he'll do in your community. Come on, somebody. That's the kind of stuff I'm believing God's going to do for us. I'm believing that God's going to grow and do greater and bigger things that's ever entered into our mind. >> We've never thought about those kind of things, but I'm believing it. I I'm simply believing it. >> At present moment, if pastor Heard me tell it this morning, at current moment in three in two years, we've seen 16 people 16 with stage four cancers completely healed, doctor confirmed, completely healed. I cannot explain that. The last thing you want me to do is pray for you and go, "Well, I'm going, God, I'm going to need a lot more details on how you going to do this." >> You're probably going to say, "Don't don't, Brother Vic, don't worry about no details. Ju just let the Lord do something for me like he's been doing for them other people." Come on. Right. Start living your life not requiring those details when it comes to God. We're talking about spiritual aspect here. Quit asking detail. Pastor says come running into the front and let's do such and such. Then do it without fail. Somebody comes and says you know what we're going to take up a pledge and we're going to do XYZ. Quit quit going through your mind. Well, if this happens and if this happens and if that happens and if this goes this way and if this goes that you know by the time you get done talking yourself out of it, you don't even remember what the request was. What were we talking about? I don't know. Are you ready? >> You ready to exercise your faith today? I'm believing today that we will see people filled with the Holy Ghost. I'm believing today we will see people healed. No details. Stand with me.
