proverbs 26 11 if you have your bible would you open that up with me i have come with a word today i have promised your pastor that i will not just come and talk about mission but i will also pray about the service today and i know the lord is going to speak to our hearts today if you want to open up your bible with me well i'm just going to do things as i usually do when i come around here i'm just gonna preach like i do in germany if that's all right amen so we're gonna stand up for the reading of the word if you wouldn't mind that's what we do in germany so just stand with me real quick for the reading proverbs 23 verse 11 and i'm gonna be hopefully short today and just quick but i know that god is going to be good amen in jesus name praise god hallelujah proverbs 26 11 as the dog returneth to his vomit so a full returneth to his folly quick and easy i want to preach to you today about the simple thought today and that is the power to change the power to change you believe in that power and i believe there is a power right in our midst today and there is a power that will help us to change today if you wouldn't mind just lift up your hands with me one more time and just just pray with me right now that god will help us if you would give me just a little bit more monitor i would appreciate that let's pray right now lord in the name of jesus i thank you and i give you all the glory in jesus thank god god we ask you right now lord to touch us preach to me and through me lord and help me lord in the name of jesus god i thank you and i give you all the glory and all the honor lord in the name of jesus help us lord speak to us lord lord in your name lord and help us lord lord to experience that power to change god i know you can do it god in our midst lord and i ask you right now change somebody lord let us be hungry for change today lord change somebody change me lord today and help me lord in the name of jesus god i give you the glory in jesus name amen hallelujah come on won't you clap your hands to jesus just a little more thank you hallelujah i want you to clap your hands to jesus come on he deserves our clap right thank you jesus thank jesus amen amen you may be seated in jesus name november 1812 napoleon and his army have been on their way all the way to russia to fight and to invade moscow it seemed that it was an easy way to go as all the way into russia and it was it seemed like it was very easy for them to get into that country and invade it as the russians have awaited them at that time already and they made it to russia and with a very very smart tactic they were tricked by the russians at that time moscow was emptied out and then they were they actually let them come in they didn't have anything what they were able to steal out of moscow or take out of moscow however the russians caused a fire and that fire forced them to leave moscow again now i don't want to go too deep into this story here but there was something there that just caught my attention because uh however as they got out of there amen they were forced to leave it however when they got out there and they were on their way back to france they had thought that they had the victory they thought they were victorious over the russians but as they were just outside of moscow not too far something totally unexpected happened the russian winter the russian winter broke in and they were totally unprepared and this winter this uh this winter it cost i mean the whole army they were not prepared for it they were weakened it weakened the whole army so that it was not easy for them to even move along at all but it was an easy game for the russian forces coming in out of the east amen it was an easy game to come and take over napoleon's fail was not just caused by the smartness of the russian forces but it all started just shortly outside of moscow are you with me shortly outside of moscow with the russian winter a devastating winner that they have not expected and they were not ready to fight in july 1941 want to move a little forward the german where mart the german army made themselves on the way to conquer russia i don't know if you ever heard of this it's called operation barbarossa i'm pronouncing it the way we pronounce it in germany with a strong force and the so-called blitzkrieg at that time they had an extremely strong position throughout the whole summer of july 1941. they moved in they moved in from all the ways all the way into stalin and then also into leningrad and then their main targets what target once was once again moscow within several months they have made their way quickly and have covered a tremendous amount of land in just a short time blitz creek means that they just went in and within a very short time and just took it in with little people but very loud and a lot of noise man they and then just about you still with me just about 30 miles outside of moscow they have all they had to stop all of a sudden they just had to stop just all of a sudden 30 miles out of moscow something totally unexpected happened right there the russian winter the german wehrmacht was not prepared for that they did not have the equipment and neither did they have the experience to fight in such a winter amen minus 41 degrees have caused them to a complete stop just about 30 miles outside of moscow russian units now they came in all the way from the east again and russia uh has begun i mean to take i mean excuse me and that that war has begun to be lost man it was the eastern the beginning of the eastern defeat of germany in the second world war now brothers and sisters i i know i'm from germany i'm from europe but i'm here to tell you something i find it interesting that that it was at about the same mark amen and at the same uh start of the feed amen uh it was uh two powerful forces man that did the same mistakes just 100 years apart they went into the same mistakes two unexpected things that happen at the same time we got a little video showing that a little bit here the atrocious conditions under which they now labor was described by one german soviet the winter of 1941 proved to be 41 degrees and the attack which has been furthering now um hitler did not learn from history and about 100 years later he made the same mistakes as napoleon in 1812. amen you're still with me he made the same mistakes how many times have we found ourselves in the same mistakes amen and i want to go a little further man both underestimated the russian winter even though he knew about history he still went into making the same mistake the spanish-american philosopher josh santayana he observed the following thing and he said those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it and that is exactly what we have are saying history repeats itself amen and how many times are we looking back on and on again and we can find that history repeats itself amen but i believe there is a solution to that and i believe things can change even today amen somebody said i never make the same mistake twice i make it three four times you know just to be sure amen somebody else said you can never make the same mistake twice the second time you make it it's no longer a mistake it's a choice and isn't that true isn't that true we are able to learn out of history we are able to learn out of the mistakes that we have made amen and the mistakes that have been made from other people the greatest intention in the last 77 years of humankind is try not to repeat bad history again amen that is one of the greatest intention that we have tried now i've taken uh our your pastor and brother whitley and and his wife i've taken them to tahoe to the very first concentration camp and of the second world war built in 1933 this concentration camp is a very horrible and very difficult place of course man uh but but it was built then in 1933 it was hilton hitler's first concentration camp which he has used as a role model for all the other concentration camp for the second world war that have been built back then amen and after now after the war finally in 1965 which is 20 years after the war they finally figured out the jewish association turned that camp into a monument and into a museum you're talking with you say what are you talking about let me tell you what what i'm talking about they have established a plaque right right a plague right in in the in the heart of this camp with the greatest intention and it said in five or it says in five languages as it starts in in in german it says ne vider and nivida in in english it says never again amen and that is there so we are reminded today that we will not make the same mistakes again and again and again amen there's got to be some things in our lives sometimes that will have to remember us of the mistakes that we have made in the past amen there's got to be some place there's got to be some monuments in our lives sometimes that will remember us and help us not to make the same mistakes again and again we have the best intentions though to never repeat history and humankind just like every one of us every individual of us amen we have the best intention not to make the same mistakes again don't we hate it when the devil is kidding us again and we're making the mistakes that we've made in the past again but i came today to tell you that there is a solution for that amen there is something that can change in this church amen there is something that can change in this generation i believe there is a solution and humankind and this world has to learn and hear about it hallelujah humankind is wanting to stay away from mistakes the same mistakes and making the same state mistakes again and again we feel libraries full of books just to remember ourself and to learn from the mistakes and the things that have happened in the past amen and then we look into the bible and we can see that there has been people that have made mistakes over and over again doesn't it occur to you how strange it is as the israelites god's own people god blessed his people he helped them he separated them out he performed miracle right in front of their eyes man he provided food in a place where nothing was growing amen and and he fought many battles for them and delivered them out of bondage and danger amen and in their next greatest intention not to fail that they not to make the same mistakes again they even screamed out and and and uh sang it out and and screamed screaming out the scripture that we know so well the shaman i mean we know they said it every day hero israel the lord our god is one lord and the intention not to forget about that one lord in that intention not to put down that god that has done so great miracles they have still mistaken somebody with me here they have still mistaken they have tried so hard and we know how they have been falling and they began to worship other gods they began began to worship idols and allow idols from from other from other people from other countries to come into their land but let me tell you they have still made those mistakes over and over again and still they did not have the power to not fail again not make the same mistakes again look at peter peter a great man of god was willing to leave everything behind him but then he went out there and he made the same mistakes as everybody else but not just that he did that mistake that jesus prophesied to him about amen even though jesus told him that he would betray jesus three times over again he did not have the power to change he did not would you believe that if you see jesus and jesus will tell you hey you're about to betray me you would say no oh surely not i've seen too much devil you're too late how many times have we said that right somebody with me here come on amen and we would never betray jesus if we would see the ten plagues coming to an end here we would all be amazed and we would say my goodness i will stand strong for the lord amen but nevertheless out of our own power we will do the same mistakes again and again but i came to tell you today but god but god 584 times the bible says but god hallelujah and god can change your life amen you might not be able to do it out of your own hand you might not be able to do it out of your own strength i mean and you will possibly not learn out of the mistakes of the people before but let me tell you there is a god amen and that god will be able to help you and be changed in your life amen but god and i came to tell you today but we are apostolic we're not just another church we are apostolic come on somebody amen and god has called us out amen we are his people amen we are the people that are called into his marvelous light come on we are the people that are filled with the holy ghost i believe god has a plan for you and i so that we don't fall back into the same mistakes too many times we're looking out to what other people are doing and we're trying to preach and teach like they are doing out there but let me tell you whatever it is if it is not apostolic amen it is not true if it is not acts 2 38 i mean let me tell you there is no salvation behind it there might be good psychology and there might be good help in there but there will be no help for salvation we cannot go back and make the same mistakes over and over again but i'll tell you the solution is the spirit of god solution is the spirit of god's who god watched mankind over and over again and you know what he said he said man you need help right he said you need help come on i'll preach it simple to you today you need help he's looking down all the way from up there and he knows we need help he did not just come to earth to help us and help his people and deliver his people amen and and to make the blind eye scene again that's not just what he came down and to make the walk and the diseases go away but let me tell you man acts 1 8 the bible says but he shall receive power oh i wish somebody believed that today you shall receive power amen power after that the holy ghost has come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me both in jerusalem amen right here amen in knoxville and in judea man all the way amen uh in tennessee in samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth god wants to use you today because you are a holy ghost filled vessel i wish somebody would believe that today you are a holy ghost filled vessel and there is a power for change there is a power for change we don't have to go back into the same things he said you don't have to go and do that again you don't have to live that life anymore come on you don't have to be depressed anymore we are his people we've gone through a pandemic season but let me tell you we have been a light through that [Music] and if you have not you need to get your light shining because the devil is trying to tell you you can't do it the devil is trying to tell you you are a mistake amen the devil is trying to bring you into depression but he said he can't do it amen and he told you and he's telling us today i came to tell you you don't have to live in that misery anymore you don't have to live in that path anymore whatever curse has been trying from the devil to be brought upon you but i tell you today you can't break it amen there is a power in the spirit of god we have an apostolic power we have an apostolic authority that we are walking in amen and we can bring down territories we can bring down the territory of the devil and see victory hallelujah and he tells you you don't have to do that again you don't have to live there anymore because i give you power to change holy ghost is not just given to you so you can say i'm better than the baptist holy is not given to you just so you can feel better than anybody else no holy spirit is given to you so you can have a power to change and it will be a power that will change your life but a power that will even change somebody else's life there's a power to change there's a power to change and god can do that amen so we all need his power to change if he has the power to change peter into a follower of christ amen even though he betrayed him the one that preached the very first new testament message was the guy who betrayed him three times god used that very very guy a very very god that that he that mistaken amen that has failed amen but if he has the power to restore that don't you think he has the power to store your life if he has the power to turn a soul into a paw don't you think he can change your life amen if he has the power to turn a sinner into a follower don't you think he has the power to help you through whatever you're going through right now i believe there is power amen and he has the power to change you the blood of jesus christ has been shed for you and i you man the blood of jesus christ has not been shed in vain but there is power and there is there is power that it will help us to overcome amen and i believe that how about you there is a blood amen that will help us see man i know you know i i thought it was interesting as the israelites came out into the desert and as they were out there they saw all the miracles and they saw the great things that god has done in their life but still they doubted god they went back into the old habits longing for the things that they used to have well it was so much better back there it was so much better back there and as they were standing down there at this at the foothill of the mountain they were doubting god because moses has disappeared for 40 days and as he was up there they were just so impatient impatient and they built themselves a little animal out of gold something that they could see amen see we only think that we can believe when we see things but there's much more in sea because in seeing you know it amen but when you don't see that's when you can't believe amen because believing is and then having the hope in those things that we cannot see amen somebody with me here amen and so they were able to see that god and worship that one god but then finally when moses came down he was shocked about what they were doing and he was so shocked man i don't know if you remember that story but when he was down there he took he took that calf it was a golden calf and he took that calf and i believe there is a a shadow in the story for us today about the blood of jesus he took that calf he couldn't kill that calf because it wasn't alive it was gold so he took it and as he took it it became the sacrifice of the israelites he said what do you mean with that i'll tell you what what i mean it was the sacrifice of the israelites because what he did is if you remember he took that gold and then he grinded that gold and when he ground that he was grinding that gold he took it and he put it into water so gold powder was put into water and as they put it into water as he put it in the water he the bible says he let them drink it you ever heard that amen he let them drink it now you say okay well how is that interesting well let me tell you what's so interesting about it i know if you heard or not i've heard the same one time and i want to share that with you but as you take now there's a there's a chemic formal that happens as you take a gold powder and you put it into water now i've never had enough money to take golden powder and just put it in the water you could try that if you have gold man but i've not but i know and i i heard of it but if you take that and if you put that into water it turns into a certain color and the color is red red as the blood of jesus well i came to tell you to tell you that the blood of jesus is what saves us today amen the blood of jesus has been shed for you and i am and through the blood of jesus we are able to receive the gift of the holy ghost and i know god can change our lives man anybody believe that hallelujah there is power so that we don't have to do the same things anymore there is power so we don't have to walk in the same things as our parents and our grandparents and the curses that they have walked through and there is a holy ghost power today and somebody needs to plug into that power somebody needs to start believing that there is a power where god only can do that we have a young man in our church in augsburg he was born 20 years ago whitley you might know him or remember him his name is david and david is he he he's a very special kind of child he was born 20 years ago just about the same uh the sa yeah the same year as my my oldest son and uh as he was born he seemed normal but when he was born he was a he was uh uh things were a little bit different and they all said well it's okay it'll be all right after a few years we'll we'll see no difference all the babies are to be all right so anyway david seemed to be more more and more different and different and so they brought him to the doctor come to find out that he is an autistic child and as they found that out they were very devastated about the fact that he was autistic because they didn't know what this is about anyway they brought up to the doctor and after a while the diagnosis came out that david would never talk and david would never walk amen and david would never be able to do things on his own somebody with me here hallelujah but the blood but the blood there is power in the blood come on three years ago david was at the altar and he was praying with his hands lifted up speaking in other tongues receiving the gift of the holiest don't you tell me that god can change somebody don't you tell me that god cannot change your life whatever situation you're in whatever devastating situation let me tell you god can change it david is autistic he has no reason to lie when he speaks in tongues there is no reason for him to do that to fool somebody it is so authentic it was so powerful and so finally i went over to brother omar our music director and that's his father and i told omar said brother omar you know what we need to we need to baptize david and brother omar said oh i think that's going to be critical so what do you mean he said well david is terrified of water he hates water and especially he hates to be brought down under uh underwater he doesn't like that and it's it's a terrifying situation for him and he will never allow that so i walked over to david here's david received the holy ghost man and he was so happy i said david did you get the holy ghost he said yes i talked in tongues i said also david how does that feel he said i love it i said david we need to get you baptized he said yes pastor yes i said david how are we going to do that so he looked over to me he said pastor in the water in the water and guess what we took david he had fear he had anxieties of the water but let me tell you god can't take those societies away he can take that fear away he can take those things off your path away he can bring change or i believe it today and david was baptized in the name of jesus christ for the remission of his sins or if god can do it for david in germany don't you think he can do it for you don't you think he could do it for you come on would you stand up with me would you lift up your hands right now come on you might be caught in a situation just like napoleon maybe the situation just like they did back then where you are tending to repeat things on and over and over again but i came to tell you today god can change it oh god can change it there is power to change in this place amen and somebody needs to grab a hold of that somebody needs to plug into that power there's power to change hallelujah aren't you thankful today aren't you thankful today i don't know what you're going through but i know god can change your life like he changed my life i was a sinner out there in the world not knowing anything about what's going on and the lord has used my beautiful wife to bring me into the church and when i first came she invited me to come to church now it was a little bitty church brother whitley when we went to that church there was this guitar player and he had this gray hair and old guy playing the guitar i thought he was about to get a heart attack and as he got up there he started singing and it was the weirdest thing i've ever seen in my life i came from a lutheran background but as i came in they started playing that guitar and he played the guitar and saying i've got the holy ghost down in my soul just like the bible says have you ever heard that song oh it's a beautiful song amen he sang that song and i thought this guy is crazy and so i came and i came again because i didn't come for the guy neither did i come for god i came for that girl and i did like her i still do amen and so i came over and over again nothing happened i heard that song over and over again i sit in there let it go through me so i can date or i could see that girl after church i liked her boy she's pretty you got to meet her you know what i'm talking about when you meet her but she's mine now so i came over and over again and as i came nothing happened six months later she told me she can't be with me we can't date it doesn't work god told her that she needs to break up we didn't really date because she put all those you can't do this you can't do this you can't do this you can't do that and so you know so i said all right it's all right we'll we'll do whatever you know and so she finally said she's breaking up i said well we did we really date but that's all right you know but i was like why because of a god that you don't see you're leaving me because it's something you you can't even see and so so she she turned around she said god spoke to me i need to leave you i was like what kind of god would say that well that was 22 years ago 25 years ago sorry things change i'm sorry and so i was devastated and so i went back to that pastor and i told that pastor said pastor coming over we need to talk so we sat down with that old man and we started arguing and for one and a half years i came to he see him every saturday and we sat down and we argued and we argued and we argued amen until that very day when he started explaining to me matthew 28 19 and he was talking about that they needed to be baptized in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy ghost amen and then and whenever he started explaining me that that that these titles or those are titles and ours not name and that name that is required right there is the name of jesus it was like a switch to me and things have changed god gave me a revelation and changed something amen from that very moment that was the trigger point i mean that might have been the russian winter for me amen in the apostolic way that triggered me and helped me to change him from that old life into a new life amen now i i i understood that i went to that pastor but i sure didn't let him know that moment i understood he was right and i was wrong but i didn't let him know so we went on and we went on and as i went into the service the next sunday boy i knew he was right and i sat in there and they were singing i've got the holy ghost and i sit there like this you know i gotta have a german face you know so i sat there and as i understood that he was right it just started having an influence on me and all of a sudden i see my but my leg go like i started liking what i felt in that place spirit of god started moving in into my life and things have changed i'm coming out of a family where i saw my dad beating my mother on the floor i'm coming out of a family where you would not want to see what i have gone through my mother wanting to kill my dad when i was 16 i had to get in between my dad and my mom and beat my dad down to ground as young as i was so he wouldn't beat my mama anymore but god but god god changed my life he took that little horse cross and he turned my life he gave me a beautiful wife filled me with the holy ghost saved my life gave me 22 years of a beautiful marriage three beautiful children not one time brother whitley and the lord is my witness not one time in my life have i ever spoken a bad word to my wife nor have i lifted my hand towards my wife and that comes only from god because we tend to repeat history somebody with me we tend to repeat those habits amen out of the past amen because it is somewhere there and whenever we are falling into a little bit of depression or something we're picking it back out again but let me tell you we're walking with god we are apostolic that russian winner can't do me anything anymore amen that past can't do me anything anymore because god has filled me with his spirit would you be so kind to meet me in this altar today would you be so kind come on we're gonna pray together as god has changed my life i know he has changed your life but i came to remind some of you today that there is power to change the power that god has filled you with is a power to change and if you're new today i want to tell you today this church is great look at these wonderful people here i didn't even have to call them and they're here the church is great and god is doing great things but the god of this church is greater the god of this church is what makes us do what we do and be who we are the god of this church is greater than any program and anything that is going on you have an opportunity to grab a hold of this church and of this god you have an opportunity today to grab a hold of that power that will change your life would it be all right to just lift up our hands right now i don't know what your past has looked like i don't know where god has brought you out but i came to remind you you're you're not going back and man there is a power there's a power to change you man you don't have to go back don't you listen to the voice of the devil amen but the devil is a liar and he's trying to bring you back into that but i came to tell you today there is a power to change if god can change horse crowds he can change your life amen if god can turn my life around and so many people's life like david's life amen god could turn around your life once you lift up your hands right now and tell telling god i need that power god i've tried it on my own i've tried it on my own and i've mistaken god god i've tried it come on if you are that person that has tried it on its own come on you've gone from program to program you've tried to take medicine to medicine gone from psychologists to psychiatrists come on if you're that one why don't you say god i am that one god i need your help i've tried it on my own but god i need you i need you to live in god intervene god help me lord god help me in the name of jesus would you lift up your hands wherever you are right now god help us lord come on there's some guys here facing and finding some habits of old habits god can help you out of that there's some people here fighting some habits that are keeping you away from the presence of gods whatever it is god can deliver you from it it's a time for deliverance it's that time for change [Music] the blood of jesus christ may come upon you the name of jesus [Music] yes lord i am the one god help me lord change help me lord [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] is [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] will follow you forward [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] is [Music] [Applause] i'm moving moving forward [Music] [Applause] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] i will follow you foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] follow yourself [Music] [Applause] is [Music] [Applause] i'm here [Music] brothers and sisters we have heard from heaven tonight is anybody in this place can anybody can anybody relate to the power of change come on can somebody lift up your hand if you can know if you know what he's talking about that you've experienced that type of change he changed you he turned your life around he turned your life inside out he changed you look at this look at the hands in this place that are raised he's changed you he did something in you changed you turned you around now here's what i want you to do i want you to lay your hand upon somebody right now right where your neighbor is if you feel comfortable to pray for somebody because there's power to change in this room somebody may have walked in here wondering god can you change me well you've seen the hands lifted you see the witness that if he's done it for them he could do it for you would you pray for somebody right now there is power to change there is power to change you don't have to continue in that lifestyle you don't have to continue to make that same decision you don't have to continue to say those same habits there is power to change you don't have the power within yourself but there's power in the name of jesus there's power in the blood of jesus there's power in the spirit of jesus to help you change turn around he can make a difference for you he can make a difference in you he can make a difference in your family oh hallelujah hallelujah come on there's a powerful witness in this room there's a powerful witness there's a former alcoholic there's a former drug addict there's a former fornicator oh there's all kinds of things in this room that god has changed delivered healed turned around there's power there's power there's power there's power to change [Music] oh jesus oh jesus come on continue to praise for one more moment come on there's power there's hope there's hope for a turnaround there's hope for a turnaround there's hope for a turnaround you you make all things new come on would you sing [Music] [Applause] [Music] your prayer come on lift up your voice let that be your prayer let that be a voice of witnesses [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] one more time one more [Music] i'm not time back lift up your hands right now [Applause] [Music] [Applause] would you clap your hands unto the lord tonight come on make that your declaration i'm moving forward come on i'm moving forward [Music] that's why there's change taking place in germany what you heard tonight's a reason why there's change taking place there but we believe it right here in knoxville too that change can happen change can happen [Music] listen we're not here we're not here to have a social club we're here to see lives changed that's why we gather on sunday mornings that's why we gather on sunday night that's why we gather on wednesday night for all of our classes we've heard about it at be free god is changing people because we know that there is a god who's greater than our mistakes [Music] listen i heard someone say this today and i'm going to get out of the way and we're going to get out of here but god does not judge your future based upon your past god does not judge your future based upon your past he takes your past and he changes the direction and the trajectory of your future if you believe that you should clap your hands one more time and say thank you lord for forgiving me thank you lord for changing me
