Thank You mr. carpenter we certainly appreciate your ministry into our lives and once we have accomplished there at that great church thank you for letting me apart be a part of this great ministry that's you're under the function of the staff there your church is putting together it's my pleasure to be here to bring some of the Word of God to those that have an ear to hear at least what they saved the Lord the mountain said whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning may be through patience and the comfort of the Scriptures might have hope so the Bible is a book of hope everything that he decided to put in the Word of God was to give you hope he didn't put everything that happened in the last 5,000 years in the book but he did put in there what he thought would bring hope to your life and the lives of those that would listen to the Word of God so if we ever needed hope in this day this out were living in right now we certainly need hope it is the book of hope so let me try to bring some of that to you from the Word of God I read from the book of Joshua the first chapter verses 10 and 11 then Joshua 3 verses 1 and 2 then Joshua was 3 verse 13 just well 1 beginning in verse 10 then just what commanded the officers of the people saying pass through the host and command the people saying prepare you victuals for within three days you shall pass over this Jordan to go into the promised land which the Lord your God giveth you to possess it God's promise is on the brink of fulfillment the Joshua three verses one in Jos world's early in the morning and they remove - item came to Jordan he and all the people of his the Lots there before they passed over and he come to pass after three days that the officers went through the hope after three day he said you will cross over Jordan and go into the Promised Land so after they arrived at Jordan there was a three-day pause that's when I'll director attention to for subject for a few moments the three-day pause Jessica 3:15 says Nazz they that bear the ark came to Jordan and the feet of the priests that bear the ark were dipped in the brim of Jordan or Jordan overflow at the temper in thesese for Jordan overfloweth on his banks at the time of heart so there was a compound problem here not only was Jordan River an obstacle to get over but the Bible said it overflowed its bank and so Moses had died and Joshua had taken over leadership and was given the job to take Israel over Jordan into the Promised Land this had to have been one of the most exciting times of their life expectations are running high you know the shattered dreams of what it's going to be like and thinking about houses they never built and farms they never dug and cattle and blocks and wells and vineyards and all did they have thought about all their lives but had and worked so hard and come gone through so much just to write at this place and suddenly Joshua breaks the news to them that it's going to be three days you're here you have a right but there's going to be a three-day pause before we can go over like they've ever been on vacation and as soon as you see the ocean and you realize you're on your way to your condo or wherever you're on vacation then to find out you got to stay in the car for three days before you get to get out enjoy and get what you've been promised along you look at pictures of what it might look like you talked about and chat about it but okay this three days there's a tough three days to have front between your arrival and your being able to actually get all that has been promised to you it's this pause this interruption it's this temporary stop it's kind of a halftime I guess some momentary hesitation it's a suspended action it's like an intermission it's it's there and it is calculated by God and has a purpose to have some effect on this generation I'm sure they're filled with anxiety and apprehension and uncertainty and kids are begging when can we go we can we go and everybody's wanting to know when can we go a lot of uncertainty in their lives right now they're uneasy they're they're worried about it they they look at Jordan and they and and they're sick in their head they're wondering if it will ever really happen you know is this just a temporary pause or we being cut off completely from our inherited a lot of tension a lot of danger and stress about this unknown future not unlike what many of us are going through right now around the entire world a lot of questions a lot of uppers a lot of things that come to our mind there's fear and doubt and when we ever get a conquer is it is it possible for us to ever go forward it's what we thought we would gain really gonna be lost at this last moment you know our our forefathers got to this point also and they decided that it was too much they could not go over we buried them in the wilderness and now here we are back at the same place with this overflowing Jordan the problem and we have a three-day fog to think about it let it go over in our mind let me tell you something about the River Jordan just for your information to make this a little more perhaps impacting in your life about coming to this Jordan the Jordan River is a subsea level depression in the Earth's crust it is not man-made it is not natural it was created by geological spasm in the earth geologists call it the deepest ditch in the world that ain't Jordan means a river that rushes down it is a descender it carries everything that falls into it he carries it down it begins at about 1,200 feet above sea level and drops the thousand two hundred eighty six feet below sea level so Jordan falls at the rate of nine feet per mile this is no lazy river it's currents are Swift they're swirling full whirlpools they're 27 different Rapids with great cascades over rock it cannot be navigated I remember and I was young boy my family rocky Kentucky if we'd go down there and there's a river called barren river and we would float to college float that river they would take the boat upstream in a truck and they would take it out and put it in the river we even get in it didn't even take the truck back down to a bridge somewhere downstream and parked it then we would just float the river and it was just some kind of a lazy river you know you could fish and you can get out walk and you got hung up or something and we fished the river well the jordan river is not like that it is about some lazy easy flowing you know dreamy kind of Rivard where you would just gently float down the river it is a river that is on its way you know it with all of these you can't navigate you can't put a boat in the river Jordan said let's go for a little boat ride it's just not possible to do it flows 200 miles just to cover 65 miles that's how crooked this river is there's this great conflict about about this whole idea of the river Jordan and coming to it and letting you look at it for three days it's out of its bank and we want you to still look at it for three days go to sleep at night and dream about it get up in the morning it's no better it's just as bad as it was the night before get up on the second day Jordan is not wrong down there has not receded now it's still as bad as it was go to bed that night wake up the next day everything has changed is just as difficult it's an obstacle it's a barrier it's an obstruction and wherever you find Jordan in the Bible it's always an interference the Bible said fill me up dude just a little bit about Jordan when we get back to my text the lease in John 10 40 and at 11 and 3 there was a great conflict concerning Jesus as to who you want they were arguing and fussing when he said I and my father are one that was enough for them they were got stones if you get the stone it the Bible said in 10 and 40 and he went away again beyond Jordan into a place where he abode they read it again for you and and concerning Jesus and went away again beyond Jordan south the first time he did it but he went away again beyond Jordan unto the place where John at first baptized and there he abode is interesting that Jesus took up his residence on the other side of Jordan that if you wanted to come and visit him or get to him you had to cross over Jordan in order to make his acquaintance he was there the Bible said he was his abode that's where he dwelled that's where he remained that was his he abode there that was if you wanted to be in the presence of Jesus you had to he abode beyond Jordan simple as that on the other side of Jordan John 11 and one says now was a certain man or was a certain man was sick named Lazarus of Bethany account of Mary and sister Martha was married that anointed the Lord with all and wiped his feet with hair whose brother Lazarus was sick therefore it's just you sent to him saying Lord behold he whom thou lovest is sick now that's the next verse after it says that Jesus abode beyond Jordan so when they sent the man with a message concerning Lazarus he had to go to the other side of Jordan that's where Jesus well that's the next verse after him being beyond Jordan he had to get beyond Jordan to bring the message that that that Lazarus was sick Jesus abides beyond Mary and Marcus plan he lives on the other side of all of their ideas and concepts and their carnal mind you remember John the Baptist when he came down to Jordan he was on the other side of Jordan that's where he abode and he would come down to the Jordan baptized people for he said repent so Jordan was a place of repentance it was a place where you change your mind here's a place whenever else it means it means a mind change you go turn around and walk another way in order to get to John you had to be a with George in order to get to Jesus he abode on the other side or beyond Jordan therefore Jordan was always an obstacle to get to Jesus it was an obstacle to get baptized it was always interfering getting the weight of everything that you thought was about you to your life and so this loving master of the universe dwells beyond Jordan and refuses to be bound to how you think things ought to be very mark they had an idea that Jesus will be coming any moment but he about two days on the unsub Jordan never lifted a finger never made a move toward them just live there beyond Jordan they thought he should have come they thought if he had only been there you know Lazarus would not have died you know or if he had only been there maybe he could have been part of the everybody talked about how great Lazarus what he could have been a part of the itinerary on that day as everyone was eulogizing this great man but he'd even show up as you know but there's a plan God has a purpose God has the design and sometimes Jordan is part and parcel of it you know I would say the name it yeh Navin yes naman there are better waters there are cleaner waters there are safer waters in Damascus then the muddy descender called Jordan but the Prophet said if you want to get cleansed of your leprosy what's the type of sin you got to go dip seven times in Jordan he said I thought that was his carnal thinking I thought he would surely come out wave his arms over me you have some hocus pocus thing and say something dramatic you know but he just said go dip seven times in Jordan I would say to naman you know you need to change your mind and go dip seven times in Jordan if you want to get eradicated from your sins have a new life and a new home and a new desire if you really get rid of the thing that's going to kill you you need to change your mind and name and it changes mind and went down to Jordan dipped several times so hopes and dreams many times lie on the other side of Jordan if you want to get to Jesus you have to come through Jordan that is you have to change your mind you have to repent yep you've got a chance in your life and turn around and walk another way you recall just a few instants in the Bible where Jordan played a part the sons the prophets the Bible says stood afar off that's when they lied yet and he lies you were making their little journey and the Bible said Elijah smoked Jordan with his mantle and if if Jordan divided hither and thither and then it said and when they were gone over when they crossed over Jordan when they got beyond Jordan then Elijah said to Elisha what is it you want for me what is it that you follow me all this distance for and that is the Bible said when they had got over Jordan not while they're walking to Jordan but when they got over this place where you change your mind you change your thought processes your mind is carnal because of sin but when you get over Jordan then you're asked what is it that you want for me what is it you would like for me to do in your life but you must repent you must change your mind about Jesus Christ and what does do you want him to do for you and of course the Elijah said I'd like to have a bit more fortune than what you've got and God and Elijah granted him that which the Jordan is always played a role in people when they had to change their minds when they have the conclusion as to what do you want what is it you really want out of life but is it you really want God to do for you well you've got to get over Jordan first of all you've got to get a mind that's now been transparent and turned toward God John the Baptist says repent repent change your mind go from carnal to spiritual that was his ministry and that's why he did it in Jordan because Jordan is a descender it carries away it carries away the carnal thinking and the carnal mind repent and he did seven times in Jordan and certainly his skin became again like a bait I guess the question that begs an answer is why after all these years of struggles 430 years in each of SLAM a generation that felt the sting of their captives quits they walked the slime pits of Egypt made treasured cities for Pharaoh after all the wars in all the pestilence and dangers and water from rocks and mana losing the entire generation behind this generation there was nothing but a blazing fence though where they buried their fathers and their grandfathers and the great-grandfather's buried all those who wouldn't go over the last time okay they think they spied out the land for 40 days so we give them a year for a day as they wandered and they buried all of them this is a new generation that it's come any of them born in the women's if you were 20 years that under you got to live but above that they all died in the wind sis was a fairly young generation they were a generation that that had not known all of the rigors that have been in the past you know they had followed a pillar of cloud and and and and they don't you realize that where you're gonna end up at is at Jordan and it's flooded out of his bank it must have been quite a disappointment to have realize after all we have gone through four generations of bearing a generation of all the past masters and the blood on the doorpost and all the coming out with the kneading troughs on your shoulders with unleavened bread of all the bitter waters of Marah of all the struggles and the fires coming down among us because we murmuring and complaining burning people up of all the the serpents that business of all we have gone through for all these years and then you bring us to a place that's insurmountable you bring us to a place where incapable of passing over your brain is to a place that is impossible to conquer we're hopeless as to what to do or others with that it probably there was some murmuring in the camp I know people thinking about maybe this should follow the pathway of their fathers it is unthinkable that just when you would bring us to this dent in Jim and for three days they would get to think and consider the plant as to how they're gonna get over this obstacle this blockade this insurmountable mountain of water I'm sure the old people all have great ideas you know now they all can understand things that old gradients don't have any country hit you know they have great ideas and they're quite novel you know now I'm Denver Goodman I can hear a young man say maybe perhaps we could build an ark of bulrushes Johnson say listen we got three million people what kind of boat you gonna build to get three million people maybe so the young men that will swim or strong or vibrant you know and and and maybe the swim over we'll find some wood and build a raft another genius idea let's get a team and go upriver and send another team downriver you know maybe we can find a shallow for the Passover look at it boys it's out of its bank it's out of its bank what normally would have been about thirty to a hundred feet wide in about three to ten feet deep was now one mile wide they couldn't even hardly see it frost it must let's get across it you know all of this was to produce an effect on a new generation under the leadership of Joshua I was just praying with the family before I came on this link and their three-year-old was in an impossible situation just being admitted to the hospital he had a large birthmark thinking off his back and not got infected not got something in his bloodstream they called it a big long convoluted name it rarely ever happens only a few children have it just putting him back in the hospital admitted him and they wanted me to pray for him so you know they're facing this is they're facing this impossible situation and many people are facing how will we ever get through this will it ever be over with is there ever way to conquer this will this ever be done for we ever will life go on like we hoped it look at our dreams ever come true they're the horrible place here and we got three days think about it amazing that God has a plan and it does not fit any about but that always seems to happen around Jordan because there's something that lies on the other side of it it may be you worth the trip it's a place for you to find out what you've got in your mind it seemed every plant an idea was met with the same laugh from Jordan as it mocked their intentions and and conquered them you know the obstacle was seemingly saying your God is not able to keep his promises I know what he said when you left Egypt I know he told you them as a promised land I know he told you it had a lot of milk and honey in and I know it was perfect I know therefore prophet saw some big fruit that they brought back I know all that with you he just as well be like your father's you know you know God's not able to keep its promise and once you just give up and go home and choose you some captain's to deliver you back to Egypt's land and because I'll tell you fleshpots and gourds and onions and oh that's better than just sitting here camp for three days before an obstacle you have no way of conquering the Lord said in Isaiah for my thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways my ways saith the Lord president heavens are higher than the earth so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts been your thoughts it's amazing that God has the gun is the finger he has thoughts and he doesn't just think it's a spur of the moment he has something in mind he has a process he has something that he means to do he looks way down through time and he sees the objective of all that he's doing and he has some intention these are my think this is how I can try things these are my plans my my purpose my means this is my imagination as to how I'm gonna solve the problem this is God's process of thinking and generally speaking he brings people to impossible situations he brings people to Jordan and generally speaking it's out of its Bane he said my ways are my course or my Road my action my journey to a destination is to keep my work but it's my manner of doing I will not do it like you think to Mary Martha he said then I will not do it like you thought I would do it you thought I would come running and I'm not coming running because I live beyond Jordan to name and he would say oh you thought that I would wave the hands that I would go through all the shenanigans of bringing about some witchery thing in your life but those are not my thoughts I'm a beauty in Jordan so you can change your mind about me because my mind is completely unlike yours my mind is high it's la fere it's more excellent and it's on another level it's higher even in the heaven in her everything I do is calculated or some purpose in the lives of my children you see the former generation had lived by faith and they learned how to live by faith faith is not something that you just over said now everybody has a measure of faith but has to be exercised about said by faith that kept the Passover by faith they came out of Egypt by faith they came through the Red Sea but faith they turned the bitter waters into sweet but faith they drink water from a rock they ate manna every morning the faith they were led by a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night but this generation has very little experience on living by faith practically none the pillar of fire and the pillar of cloud was now gone there would be no more man they needed a three-day pause before a miracle just to empty themselves of all the resources and knowledge and self-sufficiency every one of us needs an impossibility in our lives so God could teach us faith we as a generation are facing something now in this pandemic in this virus that's ravaging our world not just our country or our nation but the world we're facing something for which we've never faced before looking at something for which we have no precedent therefore there's nothing to lean on from the past those are never got anything just like this the kind of where Israel was on that day this generation has not learned much about faith about confidence in God and trust in God and perhaps that's the teaching of the day because this pandemic is kind of like a Jordan it's out of its banks it's left everything that would make it controllable you can't build a dam when something's out of it's May you can't cross it when it's out of its banks there's no hope when it's out of its bank it's a mile wide now we'll tell you how deep it is and so Israel looks at it and they have three days to think about it to come up with ways whereby they might under this obstacle what did we do they get the brightest minds they get the sharpest people they could find they get those that that are great thinkers perhaps in a group of them and they begin to think and they come up I'm sure with all kinds of ideas or that maybe we should just turn around and go home I'd rather feel the whip that was like a slave than to just camp here on the banks of an impossibility just with three and two says and it come to pass after three days that the officers went through the host and they commanded the people saying when you see the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord your gun and the priests and levites bearing it then you shall remove from your place and go after it well there should be a space between you and it about two thousand cubits per measure come not near into it that you may know the way by which you have let's go or you have not passed this way therefore you can't look at your fathers because they had passed this way before they went home there's never been a generation that came across this specific set of circumstances so you can't look back and ask for counsel for them you can't call up a prophet from the past and ask for counsel for them because not nobody's ever come this way before this is a brand-new way this is something you've never experienced before there are hundreds of thousands and millions of people better experiencing something today that they have never experienced before they're facing an obstacle of which they have no answer to get oh and the Lord will let you rest there for three days it's not saying you're never going over he just says I want you to think about it for three days I want you to be sure this is not some illusion or some pie-in-the-sky thing that I'm just tricking you for a moment this is not a trick this is something to build something in you that there's no need and you've gone over if you don't have it I'm trying to get you to understand that your forefathers had faith it brought in a certain distance and it got them got them through the women but because they lost their faith they would not go over turn around it went back every generation needs a three-day pawns just before a miracle just to improve themselves of all the resources and knowledge and self sufficiency in every one of us needs an impossibility in our lives who teach us that we must have faith you know we have no experience in this kind of walking this is strange and unlike anything before this is something you've never had before but you do not even know the way as to how you should go but the Lord said to Joshua in the Pittsburgh and Joshua said to the people sanctify yourself or tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you God has been let's do something great tomorrow for you you've got a three days think about it three days to come up with a plan three days they try to conceive some way you're like you're like Abraham and Sarah trying to figure out what you're gonna do because God's promises have last have taken so long to get here you know you're trying to figure out how to produce a hag are and how to get hag card either or Doosan Ishmael and how to get things done because it doesn't seem like God is on your side and God is not gonna take care of your situation as the bubbles and as they bear the ark came to Jordan and the feet of the priest barely art were dipped into the rim of Jordan where Jordan overflowed all of its banks at the time of harvest I want you to remember that right there Jordan overflowed its banks all the time of harvest if there was no hard Jordan stayed in his bank his stayed where it was supposed to stay so he could cross it nearly any time you there were Fords where you could get over Jordan but his only three foot deep in places maybe less than that in other places but when he come to harvest time it seemed Jordan was always out of its bag and it went from 30 feet wide to a mile wide and deep currents as everything down logs and brush and all of that you know Jordan is the descender it has this downward from higher to lower historians tell us that that the time of the year it was about 100 that Gerrans better it could be a rather a 100 feet wide but it but at flood stage they don't float its banks and it was a mile wide you know and you got it talking about 2 million people you tell my men women and children crossing a raging river that's a mile wide this is not a simple task people are saying I don't think I carry my kids that long I don't think I can walk a mile with all of our cattle on blocked and herds and tents and baggage and stuff we carried all this way I don't think I can carry another mile especially across this raging river that's out of its bank you know because but when it river gets out of its banks again I'll go back to what we used to float rivers down in the Kentucky neck of the woods we never would get out of this banks very river would get out of Spain and when it did it would it was blood to lowlands and bloat become the bottom lands it would flood flood the land and it became very hazardous and dangerous and arrows him it was a high risk and it would kill you because it was raging to such a degree you know and when Jordan is out of its place it drives all the predators and lions and vermin and spiders and snakes out of their dens out of their holes and how their lairs and you know it's a frightening time just to know that all the creatures of day and night were now washed out of their caves and Den's and holes because Jordan has taken a resident in all the land around Jordan was now washed and full of water and all that would do harm to them had now been washed out into the open they would hear the the howling of wolves and coyotes and the growlings and the strange noises in the night you know all of these vermin and all these things that would hurt them and poisonous Vipers and snakes have been washed out of their homes and because of the water that had that had evicted them out of their residence and now they're all dangers to all those that were there then sleep easy at night knowing there were snakes and things like that that were slipping around there hints that it was a frightening time that filled their hearts with fear but remember the flood always came at harvest time its meaning I guess you know if you can just get over Jordan there's a great harvest waiting for you God has got something great just on the other side of this raging obstacle that's laughing at you and challenging you with all of its rumblings and roars during the night that you're never gonna get over because the devil knows once you get over Jordan but you're inherited it's just a little ways away and the object of God is to put you in a three-day pause to understand you cannot do this by yourself that there's no way you're conniving all of your intelligence all of your all of your expertise will never get you over this Jordan this is something that only God would do and no one has walked this way before it is something you have to walk alone you cannot it is something has to be walked you cannot magically get over God will not wave his hand and just get you over Jordan but this three-day pause is something important in your life because if you want to get your inheritance if you want the promise of God to be fulfilled in your life you want everything that God has promised for you it lies on the other side of Jordan God kind of just as easily eradicated short and made your promise on the other side of the short but he chose to make your promise on the far side of Jordan because there's always the obstacle that's where Jesus abode that's where John the Baptist baptized that's where name and dip that's where Jesus had to come from just to get the Lazarus because he abides the other side of Jordan and to get to him the promised land the milk and honey you've got to be get able to get over this Jordan at hardest time I believe is a great harvest waiting for those who will bear up under this three-day pawns death burial and resurrection by the way if you will bear up under the three-day Paul and have faith in God a confidence in the Lord no bouncing whatsoever things were written were written for our learning that we through patience patience three-day we do patience and the comfort of the Scriptures might have hope all of this was done and God chose to put this in his word to give you hope because the harvest is just on the other side of a Jordan that's a blood stain and if you will bear up under that someone though let me read it for you John 3:6 insurance and joseline speak to the priest saying thing of the Ark of the Covenant Passover before the people they took up the article to cover for the people and the Lord said to Joshua this day will i begin to magnify thee in the sight of israel that they may know that i as I was with Moses what will be with thee and thou should command the priests to bear the Ark of the club the same when you come to the brink of the water Jordan he shall stand still in Jordan for this work will be done someone must be willing to get their feet wet someone must conquer the fear of the impossibility so must believe God it's well like and except the rib standing still in Jordan is not an easy path the wind and the waves seem that they're gonna wash you beat out money you now is no time or unbelief when you find yourself facing this Jordan and I suspect we all will some personal Jordan some national Jordans some things that seem to conquer the entire world we stand at it we look at it that we understand it's out of its Bay it's beyond control there's no way to harness it there's no way to basically mentally emotionally or spiritually get across this Jordan but if you've ever been to Jordan you've been baptized in Jesus name for their mission of sins then you've been to Jordan that is where your mind now is not carnal but is spiritual and you're able to understand and wrap your arms around spiritual thing there is this Jordan that we're facing as a nation as a world we are facing this Jordan some folks don't understand that it's in Jordan it's a place where you a nation has to change its mind about who God is Jesus went beyond Jordan because they could be gradually one when he said I my father are one they took up stones to stone II know they thought he had blasphemy that's why he left and went beyond Jordan now he says if you want to come to me you cross over Jordan you change your mind when you come to me then I am who I said I am I am God manifest in the flesh I am Jesus Christ the only Savior the name by which no other man can be saved in heaven or earth with this lovely glorious name of Jesus Christ why not embrace the name why not get baptized in Jesus name for the remission of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost it is an obstacle and you may be facing it but you can get over it find you a church the baptized is in Jesus name let them take you down that watery grave of death burial and resurrection it's the three-day call and then you will have an inheritance on the other side of glory it's a mansion not made with hands the Bible said sea turtle in the heavens thank you tonight for letting me speak into your heart into your life like thank you for your attention I prayed the blessings of God will be on you I want to pray for you right now that God will put his hand on your life and give you faith as you face this Jordan thank you Lord for all you have done well you've manifested yourself and showed yourself strong in all manner of obstacles I know we're facing never faced before we've never walked this way before it is unprecedented but there are some that are facing their own personal Jordans and it seems like life is out of its banks but if I can impress upon their heart that there is a harvest just beyond that Jordan you'll make up your mind to be changed and give your heart to God your beat-up nepotism of the Holy Ghost Jesus lies just beyond your Jordan that's quiz where he opposed we thank you tonight for your word settle in our hearts give us faith that we will live for you that a strive to enter the straight gate that all things be done decently and in order save our nation in this three-day pause then we get
