There are some statements that don't need some long line of information to get a response in an apostolic church. One of those is there's only one God. Yeah. I just believe another one. Pastor Adams is it's Pentecost Sunday. Hey, why is that a big deal? Because it's the birthday of the church. And you know what you do on birthdays? You have a party. Look at somebody and shake them a little bit and say, "We're about to party." Hallelujah. If you have your Bibles, I want you to go with me to the book of Exodus, chapter 19. Exodus chapter 19. While you're turning there, let me say what an honor it is to be here tonight. I love this church. I love to see what God is doing in this church. Your pastor is one of my dearest friends. I love him so much. Appreciate him. His wonderful wife and daughter. They are some of God's very best. That's one of those you already Yeah. They're some of God's very best. It's another one of them statements. And I love and appreciate them so much. Me and Brother Adams, we make a good team. I speed him up and he slows me down. And so, I think it's so good. Is it all right if we just be Holy Ghost fil tonight and have Holy Ghost church? So good to see some of my dearest friends from my own church. I don't know what in the world y'all are doing in Memphis, but it's good to see you. Love you, brother Ham and Sister Ham. Appreciate them. And they are some great people and I love them very much. Amen. Exodus chapter 19 verse 17. And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God. And they stood at the nether part of the mount, and Mount Si was altogether on a smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire. And the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quakdly. And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake and God answered him by a voice. Bible says that when the Lord came down, there was smoke, there was fire, and the mountain shook. I want to preach tonight with your help and the help of the Lord for the next few moments simply this. Patterns of Pentecost. Patterns of Pentecost. Would you pray with me right now and ask the Lord to move in this house and to help us, God? We love you. We praise you, give you glory, give you honor, give you thanks, God. There's nobody like you in heaven or in earth. We're asking you, Lord, tonight to have your way in this house. Let the anointing of the Holy Ghost flow through this place from the front to the back, side to side. God, would you change us and challenge us by your word? Would you let your power be made manifest in each and every life in this house tonight? God, we pray right now that the anointing would destroy every yoke. If there's somebody here that don't have the Holy Ghost, would you fill them, God, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the spirit gives the utterance in Jesus mighty name we pray. One more time, would you give God a hand clap of praise that lets God know you want a miracle and lets the devil know that you're going to clap and praise God until you get it? Amen. Before you're seated, look at your neighbor and say, "Neighbor, sit down." Hallelujah. What a picture to imagine. I'm going to ask you today to go with me and use your imagination as we try to wrestle down what it must have looked like in our minds as Moses goes up on top of the mountain. Moses was God's man, the leader of God's people. Drawn into this site. Moses paints it himself for us under the uncction of God. This occurrence is powerful for many reasons, some of which we will discuss today. But it's powerful because here we are given a Old Testament view of what it looked like when God showed himself. In today's church, the way that God moves is sometimes we feel him and we cry. Sometimes we feel him and we jump. Sometimes we run the aisles cuz we're a Pentecostal church. Sometimes we jump up and say amen because we're a Pentecostal church. But this is a picture of the Old Testament and this is a picture in the Old Testament rather where God would come down and show himself, reveal himself. And this is what it looked like quaking, shaking, thunder, lightning, the voice of a high trumpet, and it was exceeding loud. God's people are on a journey to become a nation. They're on a journey to the promised land. They're on a journey to becoming their own ident to learning their own identity. And on this journey, God has watched as they have created golden calves and they have fallen by the wayside. But here in Exodus chapter 19, this is a picture that God is showing them. I want you to be my people. I want to be in a covenant with you. I want to have a relationship with you that is bigger than we just say, "Hey, there you go." every now and again just to church and out of church. God wanted to be in a covenant with his people. And so he calls them to this mountain. And as he calls them to this mountain, he begins to call Moses up into the mountain. And this picture today that we are talking about is quite literally the very first Pentecost that would happen after God's people would leave Egypt behind. We know this and we know that this is a part of the pattern because God tells them in Exodus chapter 19 and verse 4, "Ye have seen what I have did unto the Egyptians and how I bear you on eagle's wings and brought you unto myself. This is again, this is a pattern. This is a part of the revelation that you have to get that in order to experience Pentecost, you got to leave Egypt behind you. Well, I got a lot of preaching to do tonight and I just feel like parking here for just a moment and reminding somebody, you will never enter into a covenant relationship with God with Egypt in your heart. You will never experience a relationship with God where you see Pentecost arriving as long as you're living for God with an Egyptian mindset. I wish there'd be somebody tonight that make up in their mind and look back over your shoulder and just wave goodbye to Egypt and say, "I'm leaving Egypt and I'm not coming back. I'm leaving bondage and I'm not coming back. I'm leaving depression. I'm leaving fear and anxiety and I'm going to the mountain where God dwells. I'm not satisfied with an Egyptian walk with God. I'm not satisfied with an average walk with God. I'm going to a place where I commune with him and he communes with me. I'm leaving Egypt behind. Hallelujah. You cannot I'm going to say it again. And I want you to get it. You cannot experience Pentecost with an Egyptian mindset. We'll say, "Preacher, what is an Egyptian mindset?" Well, I'll tell you what it was. Pharaoh told Moses, "You can go and worship. Just don't go too far." See, Egypt don't mind if you worship. Well, help me, Jesus. Egypt don't mind if you go to the front of the church and get a little touch every now and again. Egypt don't mind if you run the aisles. Egypt don't mind if you talk in tongues. But Egypt don't like it when you really experience Pentecost. Say, "Well, I thought all that stuff was Pentecost." No, honey. Pentecost is more than that. It's a relationship. I'm just going to tell you, you can't experience Pentecost on Sunday and then go club on Friday. You can't experience Pentecost on Sunday and listen to Egyptian music on Monday. You can't experience Pentecost on Sunday and have an Egyptian relationship on Monday. You can't just walk out of Egypt. You got to get out of the vicinity of Egypt. Pharaoh said, "I don't mind if you go worship, but don't get too far from Egypt." That's why some of you are still stuck in the same process of being broken down time and time again. It's because you're trying to have Pentecost and Egypt at the same time. But God said, if you're going to come to the place where the fire is going to fall, you've got to leave Egypt behind you. You've got to leave part-time worship behind you. You've got to leave the mindset that I can live it how I want to behind you. And you got to get in the smack middle of what God is doing at Christian Life Church. Come on. I don't want to be an Egyptian when Pentecost is happening. I want to be a part of the pattern that says I made it out of Egypt. I got a testimony that God kept me, that God saved me, that God he brought me from a mighty long way. And I come to church on Sunday night to tell you he can bring you out too. He can deliver you too. He can make a way for you as well. Hallelujah. Here's a telltale sign that the spirit of Egypt is breaking off of you. Every time you take a step towards Pentecost, things in your world start going bananas. Family that's not in church, that ain't showed up in the last year, all of a sudden start calling. Hey, you want to go back to that old place we used to hang out? Friends that you ain't heard from since you were in college all of a sudden want to catch up. You can call it a coincidence. I'm going to tell you what it is. It's the spirit of Egypt trying to weave its way back into your life. If you're having those kind of things and your money's getting turned upside down and confusion and chaos is around you every day that you get up, you need to just keep walking in the right direction that you're already walking in. Don't cuz here's what'll happen. You'll let all that stuff get in your world and you'll start saying, "Well, maybe I'm not going the right direction. If I was doing what was right, maybe I wouldn't be fighting all this chaos and all this confusion." I've come to tell you tonight that confusion comes from Egypt. Because Egypt don't want you going to Pentecost. Egypt don't want you experiencing deliverance. But somebody needs to make up in their mind tonight. It don't matter how chaotic it gets. Oh, come on. It's more than a hand clap. It's a covenant relationship. That's what Pentecost is. I'm not going to let this stop me from entering into a relationship with God. Leaving dysfunction. I'm leaving dysfunction and I'm going towards Pentecost. There was a turning away. Look at somebody and tell them you got to leave Egypt. This is the part of the pattern. I promise it's going to get better here in a little bit. We're just laying a foundation right now. We're just giving announcements. But this is the pattern. Exodus chapter 19 and verse 10. After the turning away, the pattern of Pentecost continues on the first Pentecost. And the Lord said unto Moses, "Go unto the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow and let them wash their clothes." So there is a killing off the things of old and there is a washing that takes place in. See, we think this started in book of Acts chapter 2. Honey, this was the idea of God from the very beginning of Pentecost. He said, "If you want to experience this, you've got to repent of your sins." And then there's this thing called baptism. Turn away from Egypt and then you've got to go to the place where you can wash yourself and your clothes and watch. I love this. This if you need a more beautiful type and shadow, I don't know how you're going to get it. And be ready cuz on the third day the Lord that's the burial but resurrection's coming that's in the Old Testament. Y'all are just a New Testament church. No, honey. This was in the very beginning with God. This was the identity of Pentecost. This was the identity of what God wanted us to do. This was in the ident. That's why I'm telling you, as long as I've got a voice, there's going to be a preacher that'll still preach in the pull pit. You've got to repent of your sins, you've got to get baptized in the only saving name, for neither is their salvation and any other. And you must receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. If you want salvation, you got to go towards Pentecost. Wash yourself. Get ready because the Lord's coming. The third day, God's going to come down. And this is the meat of what I want to preach today. This is the pattern that God calls you to. He said there's a coming out. There's a gateway. There's a leaving of Egypt. And then there's a washing. And after that the Bible says, "And it came to pass on the third day, the day of resurrection, that in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightning and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud so that the people that were in the camp trembled." This is a pattern. So, you've already said that. I'm going to say it 472 more times, so you might as well get it. This is the pattern of Pentecost, Pastor Adams. There's something in this that I feel like there are some, not this church, thank God, but there are some Pentecostal churches that are losing. One thing, if you're going to be connected to Pentecost, the pattern shows us in the very first one, the Bible says it was loud. If you want a quiet dead church, if you want a church where all you do is come and fold your hands and experience nothing but a head nod every now and again and maybe a tear once a year and maybe just maybe you can get a goosebump on a Sunday night, then honey, you're in the wrong church. If you want a church where it's going to be quiet, then you're in the wrong church. Because God ordained the pattern that when Pentecost comes alive, it comes alive with noise. And God forbid that Christian life is ever a church that is dead and silent. God forbid that when we worship it's silent. God forbid that when we pray it's silent. God for sometime you don't feel like it but you got to elevate the volume a little bit and say I might not feel like it in my body but I'm Pentecostal and Pentecostal people make noise Pentecostal people lift their voice Pentecostal people know what it's like when there's a thundering and there's a lightning and there's a sap I wish you take about 30 seconds and just be Pentecostal. Come on. You got to shake off that heaviness that says your neighbor's looking at you. You got to shake off that heaviness that says everything's not right at home. And just be Pentecostal and make some Holy Ghost noise. It is not the will of God for a concert to be more energetic than the apostolic church. Say, "Preacher, you're preaching a candidate right now. You can say whatever you want to say. I'm just telling you the pattern of Pentecost is when you come through them back doors, it's not to talk about who's got what on. It's not to see who's here and who's not here. It's for one purpose and that's to get God to come down into our midst. And I don't know why, but there's something about noise that gets God's attention and gets God into the middle of what we're doing. I'm just going to tell you when you can get a miracle around Pentecost. You can get a healing around Pentecost. And you know what? How it's going to happen. Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. If you're looking for somebody to get a miracle, if you I'm going to be the loudest one. It's me. It's me. I need a miracle. My family needs change. My family needs healed. I need a change in my life. And I'm not afraid to lift my voice like a trumpet and shout. Lord help me Jesus. The Bible says that the sound they heard thunderings and lightnings that was heavenly. But then what got their attention, Pastor Adams, is that it was the voice of a trumpet that was a man-made instrument. And a man-made noise coming from a place that man did not dwell. Here it is. That's kind of like speaking in other tongues. That's the pattern of Pentecost. You hear somebody speaking and you don't know what they're saying. You just know it's a language. Well, that's a language, but I don't know where it's coming from. I'll tell you where it's coming from. It's coming from up on top of the mountain. It's coming from the heavenly realm. It's Let me just tell you something. If we're going to be Pentecostal, we need to stop shying away. And again, I know this church doesn't, but just let me tell you, you can talk in tonesues while praying for somebody at Walmart. You can talk in tonesues while praying for somebody at school. You can talk in tongues while praying for somebody on your job. I am not ashamed in 2024 to be labeled as a tongue talker because that's the language that comes from another world. That's the language that comes from above. That's the language of Pentecost. What? It was loud. Oh, I got a feeling I'm about to meddle and hurt somebody's feelings. I understand not everybody's like me. Thank God. Not everybody is as wild and loud, but there's got to be a time where you stop holding your hand over your lips. There's got to be a time when you start praying in the Holy Ghost. And it comes with authority and it comes with power. Come on. I'm preaching to you, new convert. I thank God that you got the Holy Ghost. But you need to let that out. You can't just sit there and cover it up. I'm telling you, there's got to be a boldness that comes over you that you grab a hold of that says, "It don't matter who sees me. I'm going to talk in tongues. It don't matter how loud it is. I'm going to talk in tongues. I'm going to be Pentecostal." Mount Si was on a smoke because the Lord descended upon it in a fire. Bible says that the mountain began to shake. When my little boy was younger, he's probably about 5 years old. You know how church kids are, they honory. We try to get him to pray. Pastor Adams, he said, "I don't want the Holy Ghost." About four or five years old. I think his sister was born with it. She come out talking in tongues. Not my son. It took him a little while. And we say, "Bubba, why don't you want the Holy Ghost?" And one day out of nowhere, he said, "Daddy, I want to tell you something." I said, "Okay." He said, "I want to tell you why I don't want the Holy Ghost." I was like, "Well, enlighten me." He said, "Cuz the Holy Ghost makes you shake. I'm sorry if it gets on your nerves, but I can't be still. I got the Holy Ghost. I'm sorry if I look like I got ADD, but I can't help it. I got the Holy Ghost." And there's something about the Holy Ghost I got three people with it. The rest of y'all still seeking. There's something about the Holy Ghost that when you get to talking about it, it starts bubbling up. It starts bubbling on the inside and it's like a fire shut up. I can't keep it quiet. I can't be still. I got the Holy Ghost and I got to tell somebody about it. It shook the mountain. You can sit there. You can sit there and be still if you want to, but I'm just going to tell you when it really gets a hold of you. We used to sing an old song. I'm glad we don't sing it no more cuz I don't really like it. But the words say you got to move. When the Lord gets ready, you got to move. When the Holy Ghost gets a hold of you, you got to move. Well, I'll just come to church and I'll worship God in my own way. Listen to me. I don't care who told you that lie, but you can't worship God in your own way. There's a Bible way to worship God there. I can tell some of you don't believe me. So, let me just tell you, there's different Hebrew words for praise, but you want me to tell you what they all have in common? They all require noise and they all require motion. Say, "Well, I'm praising God in my own way, but you're not doing it the Bible way." Cuz the Bible says when you praise him, when you get involved with Pentecost, you'll make noise and you'll move. It just happens. Lord came down. This is the pattern. I know this is simple, but this is good stuff whether you like it or not. The Bible says that the Lord came down in a fire and when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. You think it started right there? Uh-uh. And it appeared unto them clothed in tongues like as of fire, and it set upon each of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave the utterance. I thank God that it happened in Acts two. But God said before it ever happened in Acts two, I wanted you to know there's a pattern to this thing. When you get the Holy Ghost, there is fire that's involved. And I'm just going to tell you what happens. The Bible says that the wind began to blow and the fire was there. Can I just preach to you tonight that dangerous things happen when you mix wind and fire together. You can turn a city upside down. The wind of the Holy Ghost was blowing. And what could be kept in a cap in captivity when the wind began to blow? Thank God we don't have them like this down here, but I've been on the West Coast when they had them big wildfires. And I've literally missed them by hundreds of yards in my lifetime. I just tell you, I don't like it. And you know what happened? One cigarette and a bunch of wind. And thousands of acres can be consumed. One little flame. You can't have revival in Memphis like that. You can't build another building that'll set 1500 and fill it up. Come on now. You can't have a multithnic revival where it's people from all type from all types of places and all over the world, but with one flame and a Holy Ghost win. Devil, if I was you, I'd start packing up my stuff and getting out of the way cuz I feel like the wind of the Holy Ghost is blowing and somebody's ready to let the fire out. Some Oh, Jesus, help me. On this Sunday night, I'm telling you that you could be the one that turned this city upside down. All it takes is one person. All it takes is one I'm going to say it again. All it takes is one person and the fire to start blowing the wind to get a hold of it and it'll turn Memphis upside down. You know the problem with some of us? We've learned how to get out of the wind. Oh, I'm going to meddle again. I've built my meddling spirit. You know what I've learned? I mean this real simple. I'm from Magnary County, y'all to just bear with me. But when the wind's blowing from the north, you can get on the south side of the building and the wind won't bother you as much. That's pretty simple, ain't it? I tell you what that pew does to you sometimes. It'll stop the wind from blowing on you. I've been trying to move on for five minutes, but I just feel a hard-headed spirit in me tonight that won't let me move on because somebody said, "Well, I'll just do it my way." Well, that's fine. Keep your wind break up, but you going to miss your miracle. God's going to be pouring out revival on families and yours is going to get skipped. But I just like being right here in my comfort zone. You stay in your comfort zone, but somebody else is going to get the blessing that had your name on. Sometimes you got to step out from behind your pew. Get out where the wind can blow on you and let the anointing of God destroy the yoke of pride that you've allowed yourself to get there and sit in. Come on. In Pentecost, we don't have any room for pew warmers. It's the will of God for you to move from where you are. Say, "Well, just preach and move on." No, I'm giving you an opportunity to get your miracle. Well, just stop saying that. You can tell me to do whatever you want to, but it's not going to stop me. I'm there to push you and pride you until you understand Pentecost has a sound and it has a motion. Musicians come. I'm not far from closing. Pentecost has a pattern. The pattern was at the first Pentecost, God wrote the laws in tablets of stone and it was to teach you how to live for God and with your brother. The Bible talks about it the second time when it's coming in John 14 and 26. But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things. Now, you can have your own theology if you want to, but this is mine. That's why you can come to church and be flipping burgers at McDonald's and look back seven years later and own an own business and be a multi-millionaire because you got involved with Pentecost. All things. The Bible said that he shall teach you all things. You can be jumping from relationship to relationship and you can get the Holy Ghost, get involved with Pentecost, and the next thing you know, you'll look back down the road and see a wife and kids that God gave you because the Holy Ghost taught you how to be faithful. And the Holy Ghost, the Holy Ghost will teach you how to do all things. At the first Pentecost, he gave you a book. And in this book was the ability to learn some things. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and thy soul. That might love your neighbor as you love yourself. Don't steal. Don't commit adultery, Lord. I've done all of this from my youth up, but what's missing? I've been following that. I've been following what you gave at the first Pentecost. We understand Moses comes down. This Bible stuff makes me want to throw something. The Moses comes down and he's excited. He's got the law of God. And in the law of God, you're going to learn how to live for God. But the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 3 and6, who also have made us able ministers of the New Testament, not of the letter, but of the spirit, for the letter, but the spirit giveth life. You think it's a coincidence that in the pattern of Pentecost when Moses come down off of the mountain that 3,000 souls when the letter was given died that day because they were worshiping idols. A coincidence that on the day of Pentecost that when the spirit was poured out that about 3,000 souls were added that day. I'm telling you, the spirit will do for you what being a good Christian can't do for you. Pentecost will do for you what following rules and regulations can't do for you. The law killth, but the spirit giveth life. It's the pattern of Pentecost that when the spirit gets involved, life comes where death has been. It's the pattern of Pentecost that he brings to life things that have been dead for generations. It's the pattern of Pentecost that revival that's been prophesied over, that's been forgotten about. When the spirit of Pentecost gets involved, the wind begins to blow and the prophecy comes to life. You ready? I'm done. It's Pentecost Sunday. And this is the pattern that we follow. Hand clapping, foot stomping, tongue talking. Somebody that needs a miracle ought to let Pentecost get involved with it right now. I'm done. I'm done. But hear me. I'm entitled to three closings. This is my second Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians chapter 16 and verse 8, "But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost." Why? For a door great and effectual is open unto me, and there are many adversaries. Here's the deal. Corinth was a church full of problems. Anybody know that? Got any Bible students in here know that Corinth was riddled with problems. And Paul says, "I know there's gossip in the church. I know people been lying. I know they've been going before the heathen courts. I know women been prophesying with uncovered heads. I know all of these things." He said, "But I ain't coming till after Pentecost." I just believe he was saying, "Cuz when I get there, I'm bringing Pentecost with me. Because Pentecost, when you really get involved with it, it'll stop the line in the church. You really get a relationship with God, it'll stop you from go Oh, help me Jesus. I feel like preaching all over again. It'll stop you from gossiping about your brother and your sister. It'll stop you from being when you get a hold of P. You want to know why Pentecost changes everything? You don't think the same. You don't walk the same. You don't talk the same. When you experience Pentecost. Come on, somebody throw your hands in the air and be Pentecostal. If you don't have the Holy Ghost, you can get it right now. Speaking in other tongues as Pentecost is poured out. Come on. Let's go. That's it. Go. That's it. Go. Be Pentecostal. Be Pentecostal. Hold on. Hold on. Stop. Wait a minute. Hold on. There's some of y'all looking at them waiting to see what they going to sing and what the BPM's going to be. But on the day of Pentecost, they didn't have a piano player. They didn't have a click track. They didn't have a drummer. They just had somebody that said, "I'm going to step into what God's doing." They going to sing, but you need to forget about them and be Pentecostal. When the Pentecostal, you can dance when there ain't no music. Cuz this joy that I have, the world didn't give it to me. Somebody be Pentecostal. Come on. There's a shaking in this house. Somebody respond to it. The Holy Ghost is want to tear down some wall and break down some barriers right now. Somebody let Pentecost get a hold of your barrier. We hear the victory. Victory. We build a jail all over this place. We build a rock of victory. Victory. We feel our power. We hear the victory. Victory. We feel the over your heart. We victory. Victory. We feel your power. Oh, we victory. Victory. We hear the children of your powers all over. We hear the rising the victory. Victory. We feel the way of your powers all over. We hear the rising of victory. Victory. We feel a jailbreak down. Break down. Let your fire fall. Let your spirit move. Break down. Break down. have a solid move of your anointing. We can do this right now and we can shout a little bit and go home. But I'm telling you that there's more. I want you to hook up with a neighbor right now and pray that you're praying in the Holy Ghost and something can be broken. Come on. This Sunday night is more than just being about Pentecostal and shouting and dancing. There's something needs to be broken, Memphis. And God can do it right now on Pentecost Sunday as God's people are praying in one place with one accord. Come on, singers, link up with one another. Come on. That's it. Now pray. Do you feel it breaking? pray until the And when they had prayed, the place was shaken. Come on. Come on. Come on. Just your voices. Come on. No music, no drummer, no click track. Just your voice. Pray until Pentecost breaks through everything that's been holding you back. Come on. You can get the Holy Ghost right now. You can get healed right now. Come on. That's it. That's it. Your voice. Use your voice. Use your voice. Come on. That's it. That's it. That's it. That's it. Pentecost is happening right here. Pentecost. Come on. That's it. Spirit of Pentecost. Fire of the Holy Ghost. Fire of the Holy Ghost. Come on. That's it. Shake loose. Break loose. Break loose. And I know you feel resistance, but somebody ought to press until you get through the adversary and get the door. I know you feel resistance, but pray until you get the door. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Praise God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. That's it. Come on.
