all about advancing the kingdom of god and and i'm just thankful to be a part amen i'm thankful to be a part of what god is doing here at fac maryville and i just want to give them honor give my wife honor and my children my greatest blessings and this entire world is my family and i love them and appreciate them and i appreciate the fact that they're here with us every church service i never want to take that for granted that i get to raise my two daughters in the house of god and i'm thankful for that we saw pastor comer sister comer we want to give you all a greeting we appreciate you all for coming let's give pastor comer sister comer a hand pastor comer wears many hats in the organization he pastors in indiana and uh we uh appreciate you all for being here tonight and again we honor the church family and again it's just it's an amazing thing to just be a part of what god's doing here you know as we close the pages of another year it is always the most perfect time to just begin to reflect upon the prior year and not only that but to evaluate our life i think it's one of the the greatest opportunities you know when we when we close the year and we really begin to take inventory of our life sometimes we pick up things that we need to leave in the year amen and i just believe that god is going to do something special you may you find yourself distracted may find yourself right now even if you're here in the house spiritually you may be in a far away country maybe as abraham he sojourned in egypt for a while it's time to get back to bethel it is time to get back to the heart of worship because it's what it's all about that's what we've been doing for the last 38 minutes is worshiping god in spirit and in truth amen just a simple thought as we close out this year if you turn with me to the passage it really sums up my heart tonight psalms 24 and verse 3. give a time to psalm 24 and 3. david said who shall ascend into the hill of the lord or who shall stand in his holy place he that hath clean hands and a pure heart who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity nor sworn deceitfully he shall receive the blessing from the lord and righteousness from god of his salvation i love this verse this is the generation of them that seek him that seek thy face o jacob silas think about it verse 7. lift up your heads o ye gates be ye lift up ye everlasting doors and the king of glory shall come in who is this king of glory the lord strong and mighty the lord mighty in battle lift up your heads o ye gates and lift them up you everlasting doors and the king of glory shall come in who is the king of glory the lord of hosts he is the king of glory salah tonight with the help of the lord i just want to preach on the thought come let us worship the king come let us worship the king david said oh clap your hands all ye people oh clap your hands all you people let's do it right now oh clap your hands all you people and what shout out to god with the voice of triumph that's right he said oh magnify the lord with me and let us exalt his name together he's talking to a corporate body right now as we're doing right now oh clap your hands all you people oh shout out to god with the voice of triumph lord we love you jesus mighty god we thank you today god lord we pray right now god that your spirit would move god as we close out this year lord that you would just have your way in this place god lord touch us tonight we love you and we praise you in jesus mighty name everybody said amen you can be seated in jesus name the morning star is he was once called lucifer the archangel was created to bear the light and the glory of god almighty he was created with beauty and splendor this anointed cherub he had one purpose and one purpose only and that was to lead the host of heaven in worshiping the king of kings and lord of lords eons would roll by until one day something strange happened the mystery of iniquity began to work a mystery indeed as it called everyone except god by surprise somehow lucifer became enamored with himself when his heart was lifted in pride he stopped doing the one thing he was created to do the moment he stopped worshiping the king of kings was the moment he became satan he dethroned the king of glory in his own heart and from that moment on there has been an ever going battle for kingship upon this earth satan wanted to do things his own way he wanted his own crown the late tf10 he said this about satan he said rather than a vile being as we would consider vileness satan is a very religious being who understands worship better than we mortals do he got all of his worship training in heaven under the guidance of the father he is still far more interested in worship than in sin he is likely to be in church than in the worst den of iniquity in any area this fallen angel would rather pervert a person's worship than corrupt his morals he knows that if he can pervert our worship then we will corrupt our morals and i'll say this false religion i believe is the greatest corruption of all it's the deception that man thinks that he's saved when he's not that's why when jesus in john chapter 4 he looked at the samaritan woman and he said they that worship god must worship him in spirit and in truth in spirit and in truth how many is thankful to have to be here at a part of a church that does worship god in spirit and in truth amen thankful for it think about the first murderer in cain he perverted cain's worship by convincing him that he could come to god any way that he would want and bring his sacrifice that cain thought would be pleasing to him we know the story that whenever it came time to bring the offering we see cain and abel cain cain brings an offering that he thought that god would be pleased with and we know that abel simply obeyed the commandment of god and he brought an offering that that god had respect to but he looks down at keynes and and he rejected cain's offering and we know the story because we look at what cain his worship was perverted it was twisted and we see from that his morals became corrupted because he became the first man to shed innocent blood as we close this chapter in 2021 it is essential that we heed the voice of our shepherd pastor he preached sunday morning about one of the things that we really need to do is really begin to search our soul and make sure that we're doing things god's way it's not just enough to come to church it's not just enough to come and sit on a pew it's not even enough to praise god we can praise him with the external in our heart be far away from god worship is all about the heart it all originates in the heart if he don't have her heart then he don't have our worship amen i want to do things god's way you know greater than slaying giants david was brave enough to ask god search me o god search the deepest chambers at my heart and see if there be any wickedness in me you see the difference between david and saul saul closed the corridors of his heart and he would not allow god to come in and search him brother cade david was always brave enough god come in even if it hurts come in and search me search the deepest the secrets of my heart and god make sure that whenever i offer you a praise and sacrifice of worship that it's pleasing to you that's one thing in the last two or three months that i feel like god has just really nestled in my spirit god i want my worship to to please you you know in the old testament i think it's in isaiah he talks about that israel began to give these vain oblations is what the scripture calls it it was this vain worship they would come they were in the middle of sin but they would come and be ceremonial they would come and worship and they would praise and stuff but god has said i don't want that i don't want that because i don't have your heart god help us to begin to search as we close this year what a great time it is to make sure god i want to be doing things your way god i want to do things your way god i want to ascend unto your holy heal as the opening passage in psalm 24 he said who shall ascend into the holy health to him with clean hands and a pure heart and hath not lifted up his soul and vanity there is a proper way that we come to god amen there is a proper way if if if satan cannot corrupt our worship as he did with cain he seeks to steal it through the system of this godless world and through the likes of the kings of this earth from the first tyrant nimrod to the kings of pharaohs and the caesars they all desire the allegiance of men they desire to steal your worship even today the spirit of babylon cries bow to me conform to me that's what canceled culture is all about that's what it's all about it's you bow to my image or we're going to cancel you out we've got to be willing to stand in the midst just as daniel did he refused to bow it said when you hear the music bow to the image there is a tune to the world i don't want anything to do with the tune of the world i don't want anything to do with the world amen let's give the lord a hand clap for praise i believe he i believe he he deserves it tonight the spirit of babylon it cries it's after our worship as we continue to darken in this world we got ourselves set ourself as never before that we're not going to bow that my worship is for god and god alone amen in this christmas season we're in it's been a majestic time of from the songs to the messages that that pastor has been preaching and ministering to us it's just remembering that the true king of kings came to this earth how many is thankful for truth that we know that god robed himself in flesh and came and became a man i'm thankful for that i'm thankful for truth tonight amen he came to set up in our hearts this is well where worship is where it originates as we have read the christmas story that is what matthew chapter 2 was all about it was about kingships is about the king of that time was king herod we've read the story many times he heard about the king of the jews he wanted to kill that baby because he was after the allegiance of man he was after the worship of man he didn't want to share his glory and his allegiance with anybody he wanted to kill the christ child so today the spirit of herod lives on but thank god for wise men amen thank god for wise men that knew what to do i'm thankful god does give us wisdom in these dark times amen matthew 2 and 11 it says and when they were came into the house they saw the young child with mary his mother and fell down and worshiped him and when they opened their treasures they presented unto him gifts gold frankincense and myrrh you know we can read over these three gifts and go on about the story but i believe that if we stop here i believe these three gifts can really teach us some things i believe that if we what god i believe has represented these three gifts if we can apply it to our life i believe that it can help keep god first and foremost in our life because that's what it's all about kingship we're all worshiping something we're all worshiping something amen god wants us to worship him with our whole heart the first gift that we see is gold i believe it's safe to say that it represents our most valuable possessions i believe it represents time treasure and talents when it comes to time i read this about a month ago it says time is free but it's priceless you can't own it but you can use it you can't keep it but you can spend it and once it is lost you can never get it back you know david said in psalm 90 and 12 so teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom i think that may be one of the greatest scriptures in all the bible teach us oh god to number our days to know god that that our life upon this earth is so short it's like a fading flower right now we can be under the deception that we have all the time in the world and that there's always tomorrow but we know that there is no promise of tomorrow that's why there's always an urgency of do things now brother naomi just gave us the need for a call brother and amy the laborers that was a that was a prayer request of jesus christ himself the field is plenty the harvest is plenty but the laborers are few pray therefore for the laborers to come god needs people that's willing to use their time wisely and to use it for him amen i believe god's looking for a people willing to give him more time in 2022 learning to simply spend more time in the presence of god that's where lives are changed that's where we can really hear the voice of god sometimes we walk around we're so lost it's because we've not simply just stopped in a martha world we've got to become like mary that just sits at the feet of jesus we've got to learn to do that at the fast-paced world it robs us of intimacy with god and at the end of the day when it comes to worship the heart of worship is the fact that we have to give him our whole heart if we're too busy to pray church then we're too busy if we're too busy to go to church then we're too busy if we're too busy to serve in some capacity then we're too busy we have to make sure we give the lord more time in 2022 let's start with the commitment to the 21 days of prayer amen in january what what a perfect time pastor said it on sunday for 30 plus years now they they begin the year in prayer it's making the most usage of their time we all we all have the same amount of time when we wake up the only difference is what we choose to do with the time that we've been given help us god to give you the gift of our time the second is treasure matthew 6 21 says for where your treasure is there will your heart be also what has our hearts today if we did a trace on the pathway of our heart where would it lead us today would it be in the things of god where would it be found if we if we would trace our heart because if we traced our heart it's going to be where our treasure's at where is it at is it in the things of god or is it in the things of this present life the things that's going to pass away heaven and earth will pass away but only the things that are that that we give to god and that things of god are going to be eternal amen we have to be willing to ask that question i believe it's a a very important question that we can ask ourselves at the conclusion of this year where is our treasure because that's where our hearts gonna be you know when it comes to giving god's not after our money church he's after a heart because where your treasure is there where your heart be also it's it's attached i think one of the saddest stories in all the new testament is the story of the rich young ruler you know he approached jesus christ good master you know i believe that the rich young ruler i believe he had a relationship with god i believe he went to the synagogue he said you know i've obeyed this everything i've crossed my t's i've dotted my eyes since i was a little kid god i feel like i'm doing everything i need to do but you know i honestly feel like there was still something empty in this rich young ruler i believe he was still he's like what must i do to inherit eternal life and and jesus went right to the source to the deepest darkest chambers of this young man's heart and he says there's one thing you lack there's one thing you lack you come and you praise in the synagogue and you worship me but there's something that you lack young man he said go and sell all you have give to the poor and then come and follow me and it may be one of the saddest verses when it says he went away sorrowfully because he had much possessions much treasures there was something in his something was money wealth possessions he chose that over walking day by day with jesus we have to ask ourself is there that something that is keeping us tethered to this present life because god he wants our whole heart he wants our whole mind he wants everything about us we have to ask ourself it's an evaluation time is there something that's tethering us to this life is there something that we're putting in front of god we have to ask ourselves that sobering question and only we truly know that and we need to ask god if we if we don't god reveal it to us god what is it that i'm putting in front of you right now the only thing that we can take to heaven with us is people god gave me the mandate from heaven that my greatest my greatest responsibility as a man is to make sure that my wife and my two girls go to heaven that is my greatest responsibility and i take it with utmost importance that is the most important thing to me the houses we live in the cars we drive the toys that we buy all of that is gonna fade away the only thing that you can take with you is your family the only thing you can take with you you can't take your 401k you can't take your bank account the only thing you can go with you is people grabbing people by the hand come spend eternity with me when we live with that kind of mandate it'll help us reach outside of herself brother naomi it'll help us see that person at kroger like sister mccreary she got me in contact with the young man that she's been talking to at kroger she sees his need for salvation and she's got us connected that's what it's all about that's all we can do we got to keep that in the forefront of our mind brother and amy that's the very heartbeat of god he came to seek and to save the lost we've got to do the same help us god god help us the bible says what prophet will it be if a man should gain a whole world but lose his soul in god help us to realign in 2022. the third aspect of gold i believe can be our talents it's our abilities the lord has given us he wants us to bring our talents to him everything from our voices to our servant's heart talents in music whatever it may be whatever your hand finds to do do it with all your mighty man our greatest ability i'll say this your greatest ability is your availability that's your greatest talent you can give god is to simply be a willing vessel to simply say yes yes yes god whatever you need me to do if you want to send me to africa god then send me you know i've already made it up in my mind i've told a few people one man told me i was crazy i said i've already made it up in my mind if god so chooses to call my two daughters to the missions field then i'm already prepared to say go i'm already prepared i'm already prepared but if if if she doesn't if he doesn't send them to africa whatever then if she becomes a nurse one day i want her to be a soul winner whatever hospital she works at wherever we go that is your missions field wherever you work ask god to open your eyes and say god help me to see lost souls all around me god help me to not be too busy with my time god help me to see that these people are going to hell when we live that way it'll help us live with urgency it'll help us to redeem the time because the days are evil help us oh god pastor preach sunday am get a burden find your right friends associate yourself with people that's going to help you go to heaven there may be some people like he said that you need to leave in 2021 i echoed that today there may be some people that you need to leave behind if they're dragging you down let go you know jesus said i've come not to sin peace but a sword truth in the gospel does separate at some point we have to make up in our mind there ain't nobody gonna drag me down i'll love you from a distance but i've got a heaven to gain and the hell to shun amen let 2022 be the year that you go out there and you get a bible study chart and you learn how to give a bible study i mean i love the the the uh the willingness and and i love the i just feel like the the holy zeal of haley gregory haley's got such a burden for for lost people her family she's right now been trying to train how to do a bible study and i believe that that 2022 is going to be the year that you're going to see more family come home she's got a sister right there beside her let's let's give the lord a hand for that my god thank you i want to purposely help young people teach more bible studies be a soul winner get more involved in ministry occupy until he comes amen the second gift that we see was frankincense it was a very costly and sweet smelling substance it was distilled from the boswellia tree in the middle east it was burned as a sweet savor to the lord that phrase is found 16 times alone in the book of leviticus it was used in the tabernacle it represents our praise and our worship it was very costly frankincense was burned upon the altar where the fire was never allowed to go out god supernaturally lit our fire when he filled us with the holy ghost amen we've got to keep that fire blazing church we've got to keep the fire blazing of the holy ghost we got to still keep that new convert mentality we cannot allow the passion and zeal that the holy ghost gave us when we were first filled with it we can't let that go out we are still the city in the light of the world we are still the hope for the lost world amen our world needs us we have to ask ourselves what is our passions burning for today god help us let it be in you god where is our heart because that's where our worship originates we're all worshiping something it's all in the heart we have to worship god with our whole heart nine times i see in in i think the book of psalms david said with my whole heart i will praise thee i will seek thee he understood worship is about giving god all that we are not 50 not even 75 but all that we are it's about who we are not just what we do he gave his son solomon a warning just before he handed him the kingdom in 1st chronicles 28 9 he says in thou solomon my son know thou the god of thy father and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind for the lord searcheth all the hearts and he understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts if thou seek him he will be found of thee but if thou forsake him he will cast thee off forever solomon found himself later in life trying to serve two masters he had divided allegiance he deceivingly thought that he could do everything he wanted to do and still serve god and we see later in his life we see that he had unbridled passions for women we see that he he wanted he wanted to to really navigate his way and create peace all over instead of relying on god to keep the peace he began to do things his way he simply had divided allegiance and a divided heart is no heart at all with god church we've got to really begin to search our heart god do you have my whole heart ask these questions begin to really evaluate god turn me inside out god is there something as the rich young ruler had in his life don't have to be money it can be something else that you're not willing to let go and it's tethering you to this present life that's going to burn god cut the cord of anything that's keeping me together to this present life lord my dearest things help me to give them to you abraham took the dearest thing that he had in his son and he went up a mountain to offer it to god and he called it worship romans 12 verse 1 we know this familiar passage i beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of god that you present your bodies a living sacrifice wholly acceptable unto god which is your reasonable service it's the least we can do for all that he's done amen is to offer ourself a living sacrifice holy acceptable unto god verse two and be not conformed to this world don't bow to the to the king of babylon don't bow to the system of this world that's that's trying to get your worship that's trying to get your praise we're all worshiping something help it to be right here in the house of god help us to be right here in the things of god god help us to not be looking out in the world help us god to not bow to the music of the world be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of god help us lord to know your perfect will hebrews 13 and 15 and 16 by him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to god continually that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name but to do good and communicate forget not we better not forget the goodness of god we better not get spiritual amnesia forget it not for with such sacrifices god is well pleased isn't that beautiful how many is thankful that you don't have to run around and get a bullet or a lamb or something and tie it up and bring it to a priest and then slice its throat i know it's graphic right i'm thankful that i don't have to do that yeah i think yeah i got it i heard a hand there yeah i'm thankful i'm thankful that the that the perfect spotless lamb came and provided the ultimate sacrifice so today we get to come with the fruit of our lips that's why when we come in here oh clap your hands all you people shout out to god with the voice of triumph oh magnify the lord with me let us exalt his name together that is giving him a sacrifice with the fruit of our lips amen man i'm thankful for that today getting back to the heart of worship that is who we are it is what we do the musicians and the praise team would come the last gift that we see the wise men gave was myrrh myrrh was so valuable in ancient times that it could have the same weight worth as gold it was extracted from a wound of a tree it was used in perfumes incense it was an embalming compound for dead bodies such as mummies just like the frankincense was known for its sweet smell myrrh was known for its bitter taste myrrh was associated with death you know maybe that you're holding on to that gift of myrrh tonight and you've yet to bring it to god i believe the gift of myrrh represents our pains and our hurts the wounds of life that life does bring our way where do we turn when life becomes bitter you know in a world that suffers from mental anguish more than ever before you know me and brother k we've talked multiple times where do people turn where do people turn when they don't have god we see it we see the fruit of where people turn it's so painful to watch people turn to the wrong things you know the world says come to me i have the answer the system of the world says come all the world does is mask your pain it drowns out the pain and then you wake up the next morning and you're still left with the pain jesus come jesus he wants to heal your pain you know that may be the hardest gift to to give is that last gift that the wise men gave in myrrh is very expensive you know i believe that it's it's natural for us to want to hold on to hurt to hold on to pain to hold on to the bitter waters and i believe that that is i believe that that's the reason why we have so many from physical elements in our body because our body was never meant to deal with those those things it was meant for us to give it to god cast all your cares upon god god i thank you lord you know when you look at the cross when you look at calvary he took those bitter pains by his stripes were healed amen you know when it comes to myrrh it was the only gift that jesus received at the beginning and the end of his life john 19 and 39 it says and there came also nicodemus which had the first came to jesus by night and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes about a hundred pound weight they took the body of jesus and wound in linen clothes with spices as the manner of the jews is to bury he took the bitterness he took what life can so bring it you know life can you know sometimes it's it's just life happens sometimes it's because we made poor choices but whatever the case is i believe jesus wants us to bring that gift tonight we could be sitting here right now the last service of 2021 you have to be willing to say i am not taking this into 2022. i am not gonna take it i'm gonna lay it right here on the altar i'm gonna meet my savior those nail scarred hands are here to meet you tonight he was wounded for our transgressions amen bruised for our iniquities the chastisement of our peace was upon him and by our his wounds we are healed by his stripes we're healed hebrews 4 and 14 says seeing them we have a great high priest that is passed into the heavens jesus the son of god let us hold fast our profession for we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities our pains our weaknesses maybe the things that we're carrying today but it was in all points tempted like as we yet without sin let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need how many is thankful that we have a high priest he was tempted in all manner like as we from the pain i believe he felt the pain i believe he felt rejection he felt more physical pain than any of us could and i believe he felt spiritual pain he came to this earth and they rejected him he said i ain't got nowhere to lay my head as a man he felt loneliness as a man he felt wounded i come to die for you and this is how you repay me it said he was tempted but he was without sin because the sin of it is that we hold on to it and we we grow bitter and we harbor unforgiveness and it kills us and destroys us because we can't manage it we were never meant to manage it we were created to give it right here at the foot of the cross help us god lord i believe even you know i i believe a lot of people struggle with unforgiveness i believe it's it's natural it's natural and i believe that that may have been the last temptation that jesus christ felt on the cross this is just me speaking last thing he said father forgive them i believe in in his humanity he looked down for the very people that he was dying for and they were saying crucify him and he looked down and he said father forgive them for they know what to do whatever it is i believe that we all have something to give god tonight you know i talked to pastor dan i said pastor i i want to end you know is it okay for me to end you know with just a season of people coming up to the altar he said absolutely what are some gifts that we can give god tonight i think we all have something to give let's all stand i believe we all have a gift that we can give god from the wise men to the people that gathered on the day of pentecost they all came bearing gifts they all came to bring something let's bring our time let's bring our treasure let's bring our talents as that expense of frankincense let's bring our worship and our praise let's ask god god help me to make sure that my praise and my worship is a sweet smell to you god god help my heart to be pure and maybe it's myrrh maybe it's the gift of pain whatever it is church let's bring it to god tonight you know we have to understand that praise is our weapon worshiping our way into the new year is the greatest thing that we can do we must learn to worship and praise him based on knowledge rather than emotion because when we come here we may not always feel like it in our emotion but we've got to learn to serve and praise and magnify god even when we don't feel like it brother often even when we come in here and we're tired maybe we've had the worst day that we've had there's always something to be thankful for there's breath in our bodies look around church there's always something to be thankful for lord i thank you to god i praise you jesus let's bring it all to god tonight this altar is open anybody again this is a call to whoever wants to bring something to god whatever gift you have let's end the last church service of 2021 the best way that we can and that is to come and let us worship the king come and let us magnify the name of jesus is except for hearts singing raise you again is except for hearts so is me so come on my soul don't you get shy of me lift up your soul cause you've got a lie inside of those get up and praise the lord get is you get childish to you is come on church one more push one more push lord we give you a sacrifice of worship we give you a sacrifice of praise god i know it's not much i know it's not much god but it's all i got lord come on my soul come on church let everything that happened that's the least we can do lift up your songs it's the highest form of worship hallelujah except for her singing one more time church let's give the king of kings and lord of lords a hand clapper praise oh magnify the lord with me oh we love you jesus mighty god we thank you god thank you jesus as we leave this place we encourage you again the greatest time to just really evaluate is is right now let's go into the new year with a new determination how about it a new determination let's leave some things behind in 2021 and let's move forward in jesus name god bless everybody i know you guys are going to be traveling and we pray for safe travels again for the new year we love and appreciate each and every one of you all and god bless and lord willing we'll see everybody on sunday
