hallelujah I thank you for your kindness to me I have received far more than I've ever been able to give and I'm still a debtor I'm a debtor to this generation I'm a debtor to all of you thank you brother chance for the kind words you have spoken I know you meant it from your heart and I appreciate it what he didn't know in those days I didn't know very much still don't know a whole lot I'd stand before that class and they'd ask a question if I didn't know it I'd say that is a good question and I want all of you to go home and find the answer and come back to class I really do appreciate all of you and I thank you thank you for being a friend thank you for loving me thank you for this great meeting what a meeting what a wonderful wonderful meeting I'll tell you I if I were a young preacher I'd Coss fall on my hands and knees to get here if there was no other way I really believe this is the meeting that can set the pace for your ministry a general conference it's a time of visitation a time of business and that's in order we're instructed in the word not to be slowful in business and that's really necessary but in this meeting I don't see anybody wanting to go anywhere during service they they just want to be right here there's something happening here lifechanging messages lifechanging experiences and I deeply appreciate what I've heard here this morning yes sir my my my I came to the service feeling that I had one message and now I've got 14 but brother bimy thank you for preaching that outstanding standing message I told my son I said now son that's what study preparation applying yourself can produce to a group of preachers sir and it was not by accident we heard something like that there's time and effort that's poured into it sister Mangan always tears us up doesn't she now I want to ask all you preachers how many of you out there would like to follow sister Mangan and they make me do it every time everybody say it's not fair it's not fair I had to do it every Sunday morning I live with praise the Lord AR we having a good time we have more fun than anybody and I'll tell you we enjoy just we just enjoy one another I will give you what I feel the Lord has given to me and if you'll turn way over in the book of Exodus chapter 33 and I'll be through here in a few minutes we'll hear our next speaker we pack a lot of things into these services and then when we meet as a committee to plan it out we try to figure ways we could cut a little cut it short short cuts but we usually end up just like we always do because that's what you want and I I appreciate it Verse 18 Moses speaking and he said I beseech thee show me thy glory and he said I will make all my goodness pass before thee and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious and will show Mercy on whom I will show Mercy but as for seeing me the Lord said thou can not see my face for there shall no man see me and live however verse 21 the Lord said behold there is a place by me everybody say there's a place by me there by me and thou shalt stand upon the rock over in the book of Philippians

chapter number three we could quote it verse 10 on down that I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings being made conformable unto his death if by any means I might attaining to the resurrection of the Dead not as though I had already attained either were already perfect but I follow after if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus Brethren I count not myself to have apprehended but this one thing I do forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before I press toward the mark of the prize and everybody say of the High Calling High call of God in Christ Jesus amen I just talked to you brother manangan ask us in the home the other night to give us the title of our messages that we were going to preach and I shocked Everybody by saying I'm going to preach on two eggs and $600 preacher's wife promised herself every time her husband preached a bad sermon she's going to put an egg in the basket she had a chest up in the attic and he happened to discover it one day and he came down and said what these two eggs mean she said well that represents bad sermons that you've preached through all these years oh he was feeling pretty good said well what does the $600 mean she said every time I got a dozen eggs I sold them oh Lord told my church that a man brought me an empty egg carton I was I didn't know if he had sold a dozen eggs or was putting it there for me to put eggs in well I love you and I love the Lord and it's good to see each other isn't it wonderful you may be seated I know that every one of us has received a call from almighty God every one of us that's why we are here we know that beyond the shadow of any doubt and the things that we have heard from these that have stood in this pull pit confirms the fact that these men are God called and we do appreciate them the call to Salvation the call to consecration the call to walk closer the call to live in the spirit it seems that the Lord God is calling his ministry in this hour to a higher calling higher calling because of the times I feel is designed for that very purpose so that you can be better than you are I always go home wanting to be better than I've ever been want wanting to do more for God than I've ever done and I'm sure that we all feel this way Moses the Lord said there is a place by me there is a place there is a place now this is a special place it may seem strange for Moses to ask that because he'd already ask the Lord to show him his glory and here's a man if he'd ever seen the glory he had seen it he saw it in the wilderness burning bush Mighty Revelation he saw it in the courts of pharaoh when the Miracles one after another 10 Mighty Miracles he saw the glory of God in the Passover he saw the glory of God in the Red Sea he saw the glory of God as water gushed from a rock to quench The Thirst of perhaps three million he saw the glory of God every morning when he saw that Mana lying on the ground here is a man that had seen the glory Psalms 114 tells us that he saw mountains move out of the way that's right when Israel went out of Egypt Judah was his sanctuary and Israel his Dominion the sea saw it and fled Jordan was driven back the mountains skipped like Rams and the little Hills like Lambs then the question was asked what Alis the O thou sea that thou plest

thou Jordan that thou was driven back you mountains that you skip like Rams and little Hills like lambs and then the answer came back very clear tremble thou Earth at the presence of the Lord when the earth trembled God's people were moving and God allowed mountains to just move out of the way like Rams can you see those big old mountains just skipping out of the way and little Hills moving like Lambs here comes the church nothing could stand in its way what a miraculous experience Moses lived with and this was wonderful and all of these Mighty moves of God the glory of God the beauty of God the greatness of God Moses was not satisfied he wanted more he wanted a personal relationship with God now this was most important there is a place by me Moses a sacred place a special place a place of protection a place of Joy a place of Happiness a place of anointing a place of love joy and peace and happiness like you've never known there is a place by me that is a holy Place very holy Moses found a place that was close to the heart of God it's wonderful thing that the Lord has his hand upon this great assembly it's a wonderful thing that he has his hand upon our lives and I I know that he has guided us closely through the years he has kept us through the years we would not be here had it not been for his protection his guidance I have a daughter her name is Jean I I always tell people ever preacher ought to have a jean she's so beautiful and so sweet and always her correction was just a point of the finger and that's all that that was needed what a delight what a joy she has been to me when she was so small it seemed she was so fragile I was so afraid every day that a bone would break or I wasn't afraid about Jan she was the redheaded fire fireborn girl that just fought her way through everything and all the boys in the neighborhood was afraid of her but jean with Jean it was different I remember when I would take her to the to the street and cross over holding her hand to go to school I'd stand there and I'd watch her a long block across the park until she got in the gate of the school what I was doing I was guiding her with my eye if anything had been wrong or anything out of the way I would have been there in a split second because that was my Gene the lord loves us that way my Bible tells us that he guides us with his eye don't you ever forget it he has his eye upon this If His Eye Is on the Sparrow I'm know that he watches me and it's so good to know here today that the Lord is with us the Lord has brought us this far we are his people we are the Sheep of his Pastor he has his hand upon us and he still guides us with his eye don't worry about the church worry about yourself find that place that's near to the heart of God Peter James and John found it on the Mount of Transfiguration they were asleep and the Bible said when they were awakened they beheld his glory sometimes we have to wake up to see it Jacob found that place when he was all alone he found the higher calling he'd been able to do a lot of things and accomplish a lot of things with his own ability and with his own talent and his own experiences but now he needed more than just the blessing Bling That father father Isaac had given he needed to see the glory of God and he received it John the Beloved on the aisle of patmas in the splendors of that Revelation he saw the glory of God there is a higher calling Hebrews 11 gives us a long list of the names of those who reached the higher calling these men were not

Supermen these men were not without their faults and without their failings many of them made mistakes they made terrible mistakes but they never did quit they never did give up they refused to give in and give out they just kept holding on they were not perfect but they felt a sense of Destiny and they kept reaching whatever they were reaching for that's what I've been reaching for all of my life consciously or unconsciously we are reaching for that place by him if I can just find that place by him on the other hand you read the little book of Jude and there's another long list of names of those who did not reach high enough they did not go far enough it could have been these are men that could have been their names could have been in Hebrews 11 but they're in the book of Jude the book of the apostates the book of those who had so much and came out with so little God help us to keep reaching I've had my share of failings and faults and mistakes I'd like to spend the rest of my Ministry tearing down walls and Building Bridges that's what I want to do I like what I heard last night I like The Challenge from the burdened heart of a pastor P here that keeps pushing this because of the times and I thought today he lives with it all year long we come in here and we're a part of it and we enjoy it and then we're on our way but here's a man a young man anointed set apart by almighty God and and designs and plans and fasts and praise so that we can have this meeting thank you brother man amen that's appreciation I love this young man and I've had the opportunity to talk by the hour we've traveled together we have shared heartbeats and always feel that he three or four steps ahead of me but I'm reaching and I'm straining but the rest of my life the rest of my Ministry I don't intend to hold another office after this year I just want to spend time with young preachers I I want to spend time talking to those that are not United Pentecostal I'd like to tear down some walls I if I can I want to build some bridges I want to do what I can everything I can to draw God's people together whatever it takes whatever I can do I don't know what I have left that I can give but I don't intend to I don't intend to lay down I don't intend to go to sleep I don't I'm going to give it everything I've got everyone only one life it'll soon be passed and only what's done for him will last I cannot but don't live or relive my life when I live my life it's as a tale that's told that whatever the final chapter of that book is I want it to be faithful faithful help us Lord praise God made a little study of the life of Solomon lately and the study of the life of Solomon we recognize right right away here's a man that is not called to be ordinary here's a man that that does not belong with the status quo an extraordin ordinary man for Extraordinary times he was a man of wisdom we all Marvel at the prayer that he that he prayed behold it was a dream but oh what a dream what a dream he had his dream was fulfilled in the First Act of wisdom when there stood before him two women one had a live baby and one had a dead baby strange as it may seem the true mother was holding the dead baby and the mother that had overlin her child and killed him was holding the live baby and they were entering into a plea to this man of wisdom and one said it belongs to this woman but the True Mother kept pleading this is really my child it belongs ons to me and so

Solomon in that great Act of wisdom calls for a sword and says somebody hold the baby out here and I'll just take the sword and won't take it a moment I'll divide it and give half of it to you and half to the other but the woman who was not the true mother said yes that's a good idea if I can't have it I don't want her to have it but the other woman wept she said oh no no don't do that give it to her let it live that's the way I feel about this movement that I'm a part of I I I know the price that some of those Old-Timers paid I know how they gave birth to what we have today I've been in those prayer meetings I've been in those meetings where they wept and cried and prayed and there was no no bands to play there was there were no cheering section it was mostly just ranked Sinners out there but they prayed day after day after day hour after hour and then went to the pulpit with a burning message fighting every devil in hell and Out of Hell to deliver that message and in delivering that message they delivered souls and a church was born there are a lot of people that would like to take the United Pentecostal church and let somebody hold it and take a sword and divide it in two but the oldtimers that are in their graves they cry out don't divide the baby keep it it's somebody paid a price for it somebody suffered for it and we're a part of it today because somebody paid a price hallelujah what an act of wisdom what a demonstration of what God had given him young man pray asked me a while ago to pray for him I need wisdom oh yes we do but there's only one answer to him that lath wisdom let him ask of God God gives it liberally in First Kings 4 his wisdom Excel the wisdom of all others the Bible teaches even among his own and those in Egypt he spoke 3,000 Proverbs and sang 105 songs he spoke of trees the trees Cedar Tree in Lebanon the hsip that springeth out of the wall in the Book of Proverbs he spoke of Beast and of fowls and of creeping things and of fishes and told us things that we would have never heard otherwise no one I mean no one before this man or after him had ever addressed those things how did he look in the Book of Proverbs and then First Kings 4 and 34 and there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon from all Kings of the earth which had heard of his wisdom they came they made a path to his doorstep Solomon Not only was a man of wisdom but he was a spiritual man you read The Song of Solomon that had to come from the deep heart of a spiritual person inside into deep spiritual things simp sensitivity to the time and to the need and to the hour right he spoke of times in the sanctuary with God he spoke of the garden of spices and the Valley of the lies we see the depth of his spirituality and the dedication of that magnificent Temple only a man of wisdom insight and understanding could have prayed the prayer such a prayer as he prayed that day and that prayer was first of all that your name would dwell here your name would be glorified over and over he makes that plea to God and that prayer that prayer reached those that would have differences between each other he said oh Lord when they come to this place may they be able to settle their differences and he said there are those out there that are strangers to this way when they come here may they find what they need and he said in that prayer if there's a backslider out there somewhere when he comes to this place may he feel he's come back home and he's not penalized but he is able to be restored and he said let this be a healing house so that there can be great healings and he said let this be a place where we can maintain your cause and let it be a

place where people can be taught your good way the Lord said I like that that prayer is so great he said I'm going to record it in detail I I want everybody to know about that prayer oh what a prayer did God honor Solomon's Prayer yes he did the glory of God came down here it is can't see to minister can't see to worship just standing all in that glorious shakina presence of the almighty God oh Solomon you're soaring to Heights that nobody has ever reached don't stop now but then he began to drift away from The High Calling something else began to happen and it's described with two little words little foxes the little foxes begin to spoil the vine but he heard the cry two different times come away my beloved come away my fair one and be at rest there's a place by me Solomon come away from the traffic come away from the tinsil come away from the commotion come away from things find a place instead of coming away the Bible said he loved strange women the word declared they would turn his heart away from God and when Solomon was old his heart was turned away from God I would think probably the saddest character in The Bible would be Solomon would not be Judas it would not be Deus it would not be Peter but it would be Solomon the man who had so much came out with so little amen sad notice what happens when a man misses the high calling the Bible said the Lord stirred up his adversaries you know we have a choice here today and every time we come to because of the times we get stirred don't we that's not by accident God loves us enough that he will stir us I I there's nobody can touch my heart like he can no nobody nobody no hallelujah hallelujah glory to God when I feel that touch I I'd like to just fall at his feet I I just like to get as humble as I can nobody nobody can touch me like he can I've been stirred many times and I've thanked God for it I don't know that the stirring has lasted as long as it should have but then I have a choice of stirring myself you know when I know there's a need and I know that I've got to do something I know I've got to preach I know I've got to teach I know that there are conditions that only God can help me with I can stir my own heart and the Lord has a way of helping us if we're willing to do that you know he will stir us we can stir ourselves but if we fail to come away oh if we fail to obey him let's see what happens verse 14 First Kings 11 the Lord stirred up an adversary unto Solomon Hadad the Edomite that wasn't enough he still did not change verse 23 and God stirred him up another adversary reason the son of elad stirred up an adversary when I read that I said God you don't have to stir up an adversary against me I'll come away I I told my wife few weeks ago I said the Lord has dealt with my heart a long time to get away from everything I'm I'm cluttered about too many things somebody's always pulling at me and there's always some place I need to go and something I need to do said where are you going I said well I'll have to get out of the city and I got thinking if I go somewhere I like to pray in a church building so if I go somewhere and and get in a church somebody will see me and it'll spoil everything I'm trying to do I don't want to talk to one person and so I I somebody loaned me a beeper I wouldn't own one of those things for anything but someone loaned me one and I gave the number to my wife I said emergency

only she didn't have to use it one time she didn't ask me where I was what I did I locked myself up in my office and I stayed there three days and nights and nobody knew that I was was there and then late at night when I knew the building was locked up and everybody had gone home I slipped out into the sanctuary and I took me a big piece of burlap and I laid it down by the Altar and I lay there by by the hour that doesn't make me holy but it lets me know Lord if you call me to come away I'm going to drop everything drop everything we need to hear that voice the call to come higher amen and Solomon heard it many times but God had to stir up his enemies and even jeroboam the man that he trained that he raised he divides everything that Solomon has and it's gone God will stir us if we will be willing God will take hold of our lives and will help us but if not God will stir up the adversary if a man of God doesn't lay aside his worldliness his indifference his lukewarmness his Lust For Pleasure and things God will stir up the adversary if a man doesn't lay man of God doesn't lay aside his foolishness his Sports loving ways until that's all he can talk about it consumes him look out God's going to stir up your adversary if a man doesn't lay man of God doesn't lay aside his politics his ambition for self-gain self honor self-righteousness God has a way of stirring up his adversaries what would happen in the United Pentecostal church if men quit loving offices and started loving Jesus I want you to know there are exceptions I appreciate brother Tenny you always have the feeling he knows the manual he knows the Bible but he has a walk with God sometimes many times and I hate to say this it's easier in some areas for a man to get into the kingdom of God than it is for him to get in the United Pentecostal Church not am I making the confession of a hypocrite maybe I am do we love the praise of men more than the praise of God do we love to see our names on special occasions or do we love to lift up the name of Jesus amen God is trying to get our attention to tell us there is a higher calling God's call to Solomon come away come away from political wrangling preachers come away from the pressures come away to the Simplicity of a life that is wanting to know nothing but Jesus Christ and him crucified rise up my love my fair one come away but somehow somewhere Solomon l lost the sense of God's presence Song of Solomon 4 and8 come with me from Lebanon my spouse with me from the top of the Mount shyar of Herman from the Lion's Den from the mountains of Lebanon I want you to come away from all of that every time God dealt with Solomon to come closer he'd say what I need is another building Lord what I need is to plant another Vineyard what I need is another beautiful park somewhere I need another flower garden I I I need to do something God says come away my love come away my fair one what I need is another golf game I've got to brush up on my stroke come away my love my fair one I need another fishing trip what I need is to go trade cars what what I need is to get on the main stream of everything that's going on out there and all the all the time God is saying come away my God Amen hear the word of the Lord I wonder if we've forgotten what success really is I don't like the term fastest growing

churches I want churches to grow fast but I don't think we need to get caught up with that fact fastest growing churches I just feel like that we need to re-evaluate a lot of things what is success if I'd tell you what success is and we have enjoyed so many beautiful things in our church at home but if I'd tell you this afternoon what success is as far as I'm concerned I'd take you back to a little Town Kerman California where I preached my first Revival went there to preach a weekend and God began to bless and the pastor asked me to stay longer and I had preached everything that I knew but every night when I would tell them good night I'd go into my little room and I'd get in the closet I didn't want to wake everybody up I'd stay there by the hour pleading with God I was finding a place by him I'd come out of that closet maybe 3 and 4:00 in the morning my face would be swollen my eyes would be bloodshot but I had that feeling the Lord is with me I can face another day now what is success it's my wife and I pastoring our first little church past fasting every Monday Wednesday and Friday and in those days every time I'd fast I'd have a terrible headache but then I learned you you that you're just going to have a headache that goes with it but every Monday Wednesday and Friday I'd beg her not to she'd say if you fast I'm going to fast thank you honey for being a good faithful wife what is success I can remember I I thought these young men sitting on front benches here my wife and I would go to General Conference we didn't sit way back so we could slip out that's right brother Tenny and sister Tenny brother and sister beckon brother and sister Kershaw we'd get right down as close as we could we didn't want to miss a thing I remember in those days the challenge we received brother stairs brother Witherspoon brother F brother glass for the g r just to name a few I was happy because I was challenged we talked about it when we'd go to our room we'd talk about it that's all we wanted to talk about about the service the work of God we were reaching for something and I'm still reaching for it I wanted you talk about the burden of the work of God I stand Here somebody whispered to somebody last year see all those men on the platform it cost those men $5,000 a piece to get set on the platform you're wrong friend it cost2 or3 million no really i' i' I'd sell it to you pretty cheap going once going twice but really it cost somebody before me my dad never got to sit on a platform built 15 churches baptized thousands of people sacrificed because he had a burden I'm the product of a burden the burden of the Lord is so important in reaching that place that's close to the heart of God there is a place but I must have a burden what is the burden of the lord it's a John knock saying give me Scotland or or I die it's GA Mangan saying give me Alexandria or I die the burden of the Lord is Jesus sweeping over Jerusalem and heaving and crying and saying oh Jerusalem oh Jerusalem what is the burden it's an apostle Paul saying I could wish myself a curse from Christ for my Kinsmen my

brethren according to the flesh I love them so much I would become all things to all men that I might by all means win some that's the burden of the work of the Lord Solomon had his dreams now look at the empty dreams Architects contractors all the time the Lord is saying come away my beloved but he built great great works Lust For Works passions for things Gardens pools Vineyards archers 13 years building a great palace to live in designed the most unusual summer house in Lebanon planted Forest built stone cities for his chariots and built new cities designed and planted the greatest Gardens and Parks like had never been seen in the world build aqueducts Reservoir pools had 1,400 chariots 12,000 Horsemen Josephus said his Horsemen had long flowing hair sprinkled with Gold Dust wore purple robes and everybody stood in awe when they came through the streets he had it he built Vineyards he had Works he had women he had wine he had wealth and he had wisdom at one time but something happened every time visitors came lavish jewelry upon them gave them everything their heart could desire had peacocks and exotic birds and when he planned the greatest feast in history for the Queen of Sheba he had trained peacocks that carried wine bottles from one table to another this this excited the queen she said the half has never been told she was not just talking about his wisdom she was talking about his works and what he had happened the man of great vision turned to empty dreams because he could not reach for the higher calling amen wouldn't go away with his beloved left with empty dreams oh I pray that God would help all of us here today to realize that we have a dream and we have been given a burden and God has given us a vision and what we need to do in this hour is just draw close to him there is a place by me the Lord said Moses you can have it if you want it when God called the Great Apostle Paul he had two calls to come away one was to Damascus where he received his experience and his Revelation and he could have gone out then to preach to a lost world but the call said come away my love my fair one to Arabia I want to show you some things out in the desert I want to be alone with you it's just me and you Paul I want to put some things in you that you'll never get away from if you're willing to spend the time how much God would pour into the ministry in this hour if somehow we could break away from things we could break away from our parties and say I want to be with him I want to be with Jesus there is a place by him if you need a Revival in your church and you've never had a move of God find that place by him let's pray together would you praise God when we lose out spiritually we'll try to create materially all right Solomon created aqueducts pools instead of Living Water he had Green Pastures of his own and instead of being able to lie down by his green pastures he had a goldplated temple in Jerusalem instead of a spiritual Temple of the Holy Spirit he had his own cattle on a dozen Hills instead of drawing close to the one who had cattle on a thousand hills he had choirs of men and he could have had choirs of angels a throne down here instead of a throne up there Chariots of Solomon instead of Chariots of Fire a palace here instead of Mansion there

goldplated streets in his Jerusalem and streets instead of streets of pure gold in the Heavenly Jerusalem when a man loses the sense of the presence of God he's going to create with his own hands what he lost in his soul I count all things but lost for the Excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered all things and do count it but D that I may win Christ if I can just win Christ I wish they had taught me in Bible College go to the pull pit only after you've been willing to go away with your beloved a while I think the Lord is trying to tell all of us in this hour it's not wrong to want to build bigger churches beautiful churches but there is something that is greater that we're missing if we're not careful and that's to be with Jesus for him to be with us for him to talk with us on a daily bases for him to give us Direction in this hour for him to love us hallelujah I can't forget the year of the merger I love the United Pentecostal church because I know the price that some of those paid to get it old brother F came through riding on a train we were in Bible school and he stood before the student body with tears down his cheeks and he was pleading with the student body this is one of the most important times he said in the history of the church we're on the verge of bringing two bodies together and he wept and he had us to fast and pray it was our privilege a few of the students to go to the general conference the year of the merger I'll never forget it can you believe I went to that conference with $5 gave $1 to help pay the gas you could buy a tank gas for less than a dollar I stayed in a little rooming house it cost me a dollar a night stayed there two nights could buy a hamburger and a malt for 15 cents and that's that's I got byy the three days and two nights on $5 but the thing that really impressed me when one group The pfj Brethren were giving their final vote I never forget I was up in the balcony the Mangin were there the D's were there right others were there right and I stood up there and watched those Brethren as they cast their final vote to bring these two bodies together and when it was announced an overwhelming majority there was a shout that went up finally we're getting together two truth loving bodies we're becoming as one I stood in a church the other day in bua Texas where brother the Sylvester pastors and they were having the funeral service for sister hush and I remembered old brother hush who was chairman of the Texas district PJ see he stood up and he wept and he said well this is our last meeting together and he said I appreciate our leaders and I wish they would line up and let us March around and hug their neck one more time he said I know when I go home that I will not be superintendent any longer the two bodies are coming together but I'm happy to give up my office for the sake of the body of Christ getting together and when I saw those Brethren lined up hugging one another the tears flowed down my cheeks it made an impression upon my heart I want to do everything I can to keep this church going in the right direction we've been given so much haven't we amen I want to know are you really thankful that you're a part of this do you really
