praise the lord everyone are you glad to be in the house of the lord on a sunday morning if you are one more time why don't you put your hands together for jesus in the room come on why don't you give him a little bit more worship right now god we magnify you we praise you we exalt you lord we truly were glad when they said unto us let us come into the house of the lord for in your house there's freedom in your house there's deliverance in your house there's hope we worship you this morning god amen amen what a tremendous honor and privilege it is for my wife and myself to be here with you all amen we're just so excited about what god is going to do this morning i tell you what go ahead and turn your bibles to deuteronomy chapter 33 and while you're doing that i'll just kind of give some introductory remarks amen it is such an honor to be with you all today at first apostolic church of knoxville what a tremendous honor amen i honor your pastor your bishop the entire mccool family the whitley family can we give them a round of applause for their tremendous leadership [Music] amen i know you all know this but you are very blessed very blessed with the leadership that you have at this church amen just a spirit of excellence a spirit uh of unity and we honor them and the entire team here amen didn't this worship team do an incredible i always got to shout out the worship team can we can we clap our hands for the worship team [Music] i honor them today and uh it i don't know if you probably do realize this but it's a lot of work to have great uh worship and great music and lighting and the production team and everyone involved here i just honor the entire what excellence just an incredible spirit of excellence at this church and so i just i honor you guys and man i don't even know what i'm doing here but it's an honor to be here and i'm excited about what what god is going to do today amen it's so great i want to say it's great to see my friend noah and his wife sarah we go way back a few years and so good to see them and looking forward to connecting with them a little bit while we're here amen but i'm so excited about what god is going to do how many ex are have come expecting for god to do something great today [Music] i don't know about you but i haven't come to church today just to kind of go through the motions i haven't come to church today to just kind of have a good time and then go home and just act like nothing happened but i've come today to experience the power and the demonstration of the holy ghost in this room i believe that we can see miracles in this place today i believe we could see the supernatural in this place today and i've come expecting for god to do just that amen deuteronomy chapter 33 we will start reading at verse number 26 deuteronomy 33 26. the bible says there is none like unto the god of jesus who rideth upon the heaven in thy help and in his excellency on the sky who rideth upon the heaven in thy help aren't you glad today that we have a god that is willing and able to help us i said he's a god that is willing but he's not only willing but he has the power and the ability to help us with whatever we have need of today amen and i don't i don't want to preach anything fancy i just want to preach a really simple message to you today about the help of the lord i simply want to entitle this message home is where the help is you know the saying home is where the heart is but i want to let you know today that home is where the help is god's going to help somebody today i said god is going to help somebody today somebody's going to leave delivered somebody's going to leave set free somebody's going to leave knowing i serve a god that is able to help me amen if you believe that one more time lift up your hands let's pray together shall we god i pray right now let your power let your anointing that is already here continue to flow lord continue to manifest your power and your glory god i pray in the name of the lord jesus for there to be freedom in this room we come against any spirit god anything that would try to hinder the moving of your presence in this place lord that we release your power we release faith we release the gifts of the spirit we release today a demonstration of the power of the holy ghost fill somebody with the holy ghost today lord save someone deliver someone and we'll give you the praise and the glory and the honor for it in jesus name one more time clap your hands unto the lord [Music] amen you may be seated it may sound like i'm going to get a little bit morbid here for a moment but i promise you we're going to take this thing right back up because i believe god has given me a word today they were home alone just she and him she turned him in for molesting her sister but instead of this guy getting in trouble little sharon had her sister turned into juvenile detention or rather the authorities turned her sister into juvenile detention and she was left all alone with her stepfather little sharon was absolutely terrified because as he'd informed her there was nowhere for her to run and nowhere for her to hide there was no one to hear her because she was all by herself in a house alone with him and she knew she just knew that night that he was going to take her very life and as she lay in her bed literally paralyzed by the fear that it gripped her she simply whispered this prayer god if you are real you've got to help me and at that very moment she felt an overwhelming sense of peace begin to surround her it was almost as if she could feel arms wrapping around her and she was no longer afraid she could hear her stepfather coming now down the hallway and as he got to her room it was as if something literally pushed him back out of the doorway he began to curse and a fit of rage frustrated that he could not come in but determined he tried again to enter into the room once more but again something prevented him and pushed him back from the door and yet again the third time he tried to enter but could not pass through the doors of her room because you see little sharon in her moment of desperation had cried out to the lord and he had heard her can i preach to someone today that there are many of us that find ourselves in the same position as that little sharon was in trouble and i can i tell you it may not be domestic abuse as little sharon was experiencing in our sermon but maybe it's a financial crisis for some it may be the temptation on your phone that you can't seem to conquer maybe somebody is dealing with anxiety so dense and dark and deep that you feel if something doesn't change in my life it'll be better for me to end it all and you thought to yourself i wish somebody knew i wish somebody would care i would somebody would help me but i've come to preach to every person under the sound of my voice it's not time for you to give up you've come into the right place with the right god don't you give up don't you give in jesus is here and he's here to help you you don't have to be alone you don't have to be by yourself but we serve a god that is able to help you if you'll do a little sharing data and you'll begin to call on the name of the lord can i tell you he's just as close as the mention of his name oh is there anybody that can testify i shouldn't be here but i serve a god that helped me come on is there anybody that can testify i should have lost my mind a long time ago but because of jesus because he reached down come on because he picked me up and turned me around i can stand to testify he's a god that is able to help oh i've come to preach to somebody today and tell you that help is on the way see the devil didn't want you to walk in the church this morning because the devil knew if if they get into the house of the lord that preacher is going to preach and give them a little bit of hope they get to the house of the lord they're going to remember they're going to be reminded that i'm not in this by myself but i have a god that is for me and if god is for me then who can be against me if god is on my side i don't have to be afraid i don't have to worry i don't have to fear her because he's a god that is able to help me in deuteronomy 33 our scripture text we find moses at the conclusion of his life he's been a good leader to the children of israel albeit not a perfect leader his disobedience to god by striking the rock instead of speaking to it has cost him his opportunity to taste of the milk and honey which flowed in the land that god had promised him and the children of israel yet moses finds it in himself to move beyond the pain of his mistakes and pray a prayer of blessing over the children of israel before he dies he goes tribe by tribe and begins to pray a prayer of blessing upon them all and at the conclusion he begins to glorify god and in verse number 26 he says in our scripture text there is none like god oh just run who rides through the heavens to your help moses says there is no god like my god [Applause] there's no god like my god but here's the reason why there's no god like my god moses says it's not because he is all-powerful and he is it's not because he can work miracles and he can but there is none god there is no god like my god because he is the god who will help me moses says what makes my god so powerful is he's not a god that's just up in heaven with his arms crossed looking at us come on but he's a god that is able to get involved in your life he's a god that is able and willing to exercise his power to help you can i tell somebody don't you listen to the lie of the devil that would tell you that god doesn't care about you the devil is a liar god does care about you god does see you god does understand what you're going through and he's in this room right now to help you he's in this room right now to deliver you he's in this room right now to set you free [Music] moses says what makes jesus special is he is the fact that he's a god that is able to help us we were slaves in egypt but god spoke to me through a burning bush and said he was going to help me then i had a red sea in front of me and the egyptians behind me and mountains surrounding me but god helped me we were in the middle of a desert with nothing to eat and nothing to drink but god sent quail for us to eat and made water come out of a rock for us to drink because he's a god that helps me what makes my jesus an awesome god is the fact that i was a sinner on my way to hell but he didn't leave me there come on i might not be so inclined to serve a god if he was powerful but he never helped me but the reason i worship him the reason i praise him the reason i magnify him is because he picked me up he changed my life he turned me around he helped me come on somebody i said he's in this room to help you come on i would say god that you will look to the hills from which cometh your help your help cometh from the lord it's not from man it's not from this world but your help comes from the lord oh somebody clap your hands if you believe that oh i wish i had about five people that would say brother wilson i can testify god touched my life i can testify i had sickness in my body but when i came down and i lifted my hands and they laid hands on me god miraculously healed me come on i wish i had about five people that would testify i should be strung out on drugs i should be strung out on alcohol but god helped me you don't have to struggle he can help you you don't have to lie anymore he can help you you don't have to steal anymore he can help you you don't have to live in sin anymore jesus will help you i've come to preach to every devil that told you you aren't going to make it another day the devil is a liar you're going to make it because god is going to help you you're going to change your world because god is going to help you this church is going to see revival because god is going to help us come on you go you're going to come out of anxiety because god is going to help you you're going to come out of depression because god come on trouble is not going to last forever you won't be here forever i know it's dark right now i know it's dense right now but jesus is here and he is going to help you come on i know it's a simple message and for a few people in this room it might not mean anything to you but there's somebody in this room that's getting ready to give up there's somebody that's getting ready to throw in the towel because you feel like you're by yourself but can i tell you you're not alone god promised he'd never leave you nor forsake you i said he's with you you need to be reminded he's with you you need to be reminded he's for you he's on your side [Applause] he's a god that will help you you see the devil will lie to us and tell us that god god must not care about you because you've been going through this for five years a year several months and nothing has changed nothing has moved in your life god god isn't really god isn't really going to help you but let me tell you something right now the devil can convince you of that he's already won but if there would be a saint of god there would be a person maybe it's your first time coming into the presence of the lord if you could get enough faith in your heart today to believe that god can help you can i tell you god is here today and he will help you i love the way the psalmist says it in psalms 46 and 1. he says god is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble and i love this passage of scripture because some of us think that god is incapable of doing just that of helping us but that very present phrase in the hebrew means a well-proven help you see god is not a novice god is not a beginner he has proven himself to be a helper [Applause] can i tell somebody that god's reputation precedes him he's helped people since the moment he created humanity that's just who my god is and if he studied before can i preach to can i preach to somebody if he's done it before he can do it again he's a well proven helper god is not a novice god is come on this isn't his first time but there's a host of witnesses that can testify he's a well-proven helper he's a very present helper in my time of trouble i cried out to my god when i was addicted to drugs i cried out to god when i struggled with pornography i cried out to god and he came down and he helped me he delivered me he saved me [Applause] come on somebody you're not the first person that struggled with anxiety you're not the first person that struggled with whatever you're dealing with but there's a whole host of people that can testify he's a very present helper he's proven he's done it in my life i'm a witness of his power i'm a witness of his glory oh somebody lift up your voice right now in worship come on i need some help in this room come on is there a saint of god that could testify come on he's a well-proven helper he's an ever-present helper in my time of trouble in my time of distress come on my family tree didn't qualify me to be used of god but he picked me up he changed my family he turned me around he's a very present help [Applause] he's a very present help he's well proven i i don't know i don't know brother no if i would trust a god if it was his first time if he didn't have a reputation i don't know that i would i don't know that i would but you see i've grown up in and around this type of church and i've seen him do it time and time and time and time again there's too much evidence for you to look me in the face and tell me that god can't do it i've already seen him do it i've already seen him raise the dead i've already seen him heal the sick i've already seen him save souls i've already seen him turn families around i've already seen him heal drug addicts i've already seen him heal from depression and fear come on but you got to get enough faith in you today to take a step and say brother wilson i'm going to allow god to help me out i'm going to open my heart up i'm going to open my spirit up and i'm gonna let god reach down into my heart and change me i want you to lift up your hands i feel the spirit of the lord in this room right now come on i want you to lift up your voice and i want you to begin to pray right now [Music] come on come on god is wanting to help somebody in this place come on hallelujah [Applause] oh somebody worship him for a few moments right now oh somebody lift up your voice and praise right now [Applause] oh thank you jesus we find the story you may be seated find the story of a man by the name of asa the bible lets us know that asa is in the position of so many in this room there i say of everyone in this room asa needs the help of the lord but you see the problem is there were some things that were blocking god from having access to asa because when you say you need help from god can i tell you god will not help you if there are things that are blocking his access to you there are sometimes sometimes we have to get to an altar of repentance and say god i'm going to remove those things that are blocking you from having access to my life we find that asa asus father is an evil man he's done evil in the sight of the lord and the bible says that he's built altars he's built up high places but the bible says that asa understands if god is going to help me i've got to get rid of some things in my life and the bible says in verse number three that asa he took away the foreign altars and the high places and broke down the pillars and cut down ashram and commanded judah to seek the lord the god of their fathers can i tell somebody in this place if you want god to have access to help you you also got to make sure that there's nothing in your life that's going to keep him from getting to you and you got to make up your mind god i'm going to clear the way so that you can help me i'm going to clear the every idol every high thing that's exalting itself above you i'm getting rid of it god because i need you to help me oh i know that's hard to hear sometimes you mean to tell me if god is going to help me i got to do some things oh yes oh yes this is not a magic pill or a magic potion you don't just come up lift up your hands and poof everything is gone but sometimes before god delivers you sometimes before god sets you free you got to do some things on your own you got to get rid of some things can i tell somebody in this room today you've been wanting god to help you but you haven't helped yourself first if you want god to help you you first you got to help yourself and say god i'm getting rid of any that influence that's been speaking in my life telling me that god will never use me i'm getting rid of that that influence in my life that's telling me that god will never heal my body i'm getting rid of that anything in my life that's blocking me that's preventing me i'm getting rid of it the bible says after he does this the bible says and then he commanded judah to seek the lord can i tell somebody if you want god to help you you can't just sit there with your arms crossed saying god come to me but you got to say god i need something in my life the bible says that god is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him can i tell somebody if you want healing in your body you got to seek the lord if you want deliverance for your family you got to seek the lord you can't come up here playing games you can't come up here just going through the motions but there's got to be a hunger in your spirit there's got to be a desperation in your voice that says god i tried a thousand other things and they didn't work i tried the things of this world and it couldn't help me out but god i'm coming to you i'm sick in your face i'm falling over these and i'm asking you to come down and help me out and can i tell you when you seek him he will be found of you when you seek him he'll come down when you seek him he'll show up in your life come on huh i said it's time to seek the lord again come on it's time to get on your knees and pray again for some of you it's been a long time since you prayed but it's time to pray again it's time to seek the lord again it's time to allow god to help you [Applause] the bible says he commands them to seek the lord immediately after that the enemy comes the bible says enemy comes to attack asa because when god helps us the attack doesn't always stop i wish that i could tell you that god helping you means you'll never be tempted again but chances are that's probably not going to happen i wish that i could tell you that god helping you means you'll never struggle with anxiety and depression again and i believe that there is a such thing as god delivering you but i also believe this i also believe that we're human and that sometimes not always but sometimes god will allow things to stay in our life so that we can stay close to him the bible says it this way the bible says it reigns on the just and the unjust alike but you see the difference between the just and the unjust is this the just has somebody to turn to the unjust doesn't have someone to lean on the unjust doesn't have someone to help them but if you're the just if you've been called of god you have a god that's on your side and though it may be dark and though it may be dense you can call on the lord and he's going to be right there for you you can call on the lord and he's going to be right by your side come on the reason i shout today is not because my life is perfect and nothing ever happens to me but the reason i shout the reason i jump the reason i worship is i'm not by myself i have a god who's with me i have a god that's for me i have a god who's a very present help in my life come on asa you have nothing to worry about i know the enemy surrounding you but god is with you [Applause] the bible says that the ethiopians come and asa has an army of three hundred thousand but the ethiopians they have an army of a million and it would seem as if asa and his men are in over their heads anybody ever felt that way sickness in your family the sickness in your body you feel man the odds are stacked against me right now there's no way that i can come out of this but asa asa does what we all need to do that desire for god to do something in their life today the bible says asa begins to pray and he says oh lord listen to his words the same words of moses there is none like you he says god the god of moses moses prayed the same prayer and i'm gonna pray this prayer there is none like you god not because you're powerful and you are not because you're great and you are not because of all these other things that are true about you but there's none like you because you are the god that is able to help me the pagan gods their gods don't have any power the pagan gods their gods don't have any ability to touch them but you oh god there is none like you because you actually you have the ability to help me he says oh god there's none like you because you will help me and he says god we rely on you and in your name we have come against this multitude oh lord you are our god let not man prevail against you i love the way asa says it asa says god they're not coming against me because some of you think that the enemy's attack is against you but can let me tell you let me let you in on a little secret today if you're on the lord's side can i tell you the enemy's not attacking you but he's he's actually attacking the god inside of you and let me tell you this when the enemy begins to poke with the lord can i tell you i've read the back of the book and we win come on you're not by yourself but god asa said god they mess with you they haven't messed with me they provoked you god what are you going to do about it god what are you going to do god says that's okay asa i'm going to come and i'm going to defeat them in the bible says and the lord defeated the ethiopians before asa and before judah and the ethiopians fled can i tell somebody the enemy's not messing with you the enemy's messing with god and can i tell you how our god is not like any other god but our god is not only a god that's a god of your help but he's a god that spoke this world into existence he's a god that has a power he's the god that has the authority he's a god that's still on the throne heaven and earth adore him come on the angels bow before him he's the god of power he's the god of authority [Applause] the bible says after asa cries out to god for help that the lord showed up after asa realizes i got to get rid of some things after acer realizes god i need you to have access to me therefore i'm going to clear things out the way the bible says that god shows up on the scenes and he defeats the ethiopians i'm coming to a close musicians singers you can come but here's the thing that some of us fear not all of us but many of us fear this for some this may seem insignificant or a bit on the dramatic side i don't know but there are some people in this room that struggle with this issue this is a very real issue for some people some people in this room are afraid for god to help you and here's the reason why because you feel that if i let god in if i give god access to me if i come up to the front of this altar and i'm vulnerable with god i open up my heart and i will and i allow god to help me god is going to come in and maybe he'll help me but it won't be long before god will leave me because everybody that's ever helped me everybody that's ever been anything to me at one point in my life eventually they left me eventually they hurt me eventually they forsook me turned their back don't turn their back on me eventually they stabbed me in the back and he may help me for a little bit but there's going to come a point in time to where god will cease to help me and i'll be alone and i'll be hurt just like i was before he ever came into my life somebody in this room is struggling with that very issue but i love the way moses continues his prayer because moses doesn't just leave it there and i believe what moses says in our scripture texts after what we read is very key for somebody moses doesn't just say he's the god that is able to help us no he doesn't just say that he's a god that is able to to help us and be there for us i love what moses says in deuteronomy chapter 33 he says after he says our god is our help he goes on to say the eternal god is your dwelling place [Music] and underneath the everlasting arms you see when god helps you he doesn't just help you and then leave you but when god helps you he creates a place for you a refuge a place that when the storms of life come you can find refuge you can find shelter can i tell you when god helps you he doesn't just leave you but he creates a home for you he creates a place underneath his everlasting arms where there's safety and shelter and protection [Music] you see that young lady that i talked about sharing at the beginning of this service it's a true story you know sharon can we go to that next slide sharon was about this age and she had never felt anything like that before then before that moment in that room with her dad she didn't know who or what it was [Music] and she thought that that presence helped her that one time and then left her but what sharon did not know was that when she gave god access to her when she cried out to her god created in refuge [Music] and though she didn't know it she was right in his care she was under his everlasting arms and god was leading her even in times when she didn't understand that god's hand was leading her and drawing her and sharing at about this age several years decades later walked into a church just like this apostolic church for the first time [Music] walk down to the front she said brother wilson she said and when i walked down to the front she said i didn't know what i was doing she said but when i lifted up my hands and began to pray she said the same presence that was in my room at that as a little girl she said it came she said i felt those same arms wrapped around me and she said i began to say this is what was in my room this what was this is it this was who was in my room and the bible and she said that day she lifted up her hands and she began to pray and for the very first time god filled sharon with the baptism of the holy ghost she began to speak in other tongues because when god helps you he doesn't leave you when god helps you he creates a place for you there's a shelter for you in his arms [Music] go to that next slide look at sherry now it's been several years ago that's sister karecha some of you might have heard of brother brian kerecha that's his mom right there brother brian correct your brother harold linder that's his mother-in-law great people of god god literally turned their entire family tree around you see everybody that's in this room right now hasn't always been the way that they are you think that everybody's always been saved and always been in church and never gone through anything no that couldn't be further from the truth if you knew the stories that are in this room right now it blow your mind but can i tell you when jesus helps you he doesn't leave you but he'll create a place for you he'll turn your family around he'll turn your family he'll turn your generations around [Music] can i tell somebody there's a home for you and home is where the help is [Music] home is not somewhere out there huh but this right here in the presence of the almighty god come on in the presence of jesus right here there's a home for you right here there's a god that is able to help you the same god that changed sharon can change you the same guy that helps sharon can help you the same god that feels sharing with his spirit i can fill you with his spirit i want you to come down to the front with hands lifted [Music] i want you to lift up your voice and begin to pray i need you to listen to me i feel very specifically to do this right now those of you that are struggling with suicidal thoughts listen this is a very real thing that is very prevalent in this age there was a young man i preached this very same sermon to a young man a couple of weeks ago a young man went out and ended his life after i preached this sermon because he didn't believe the words that i preached you i had no idea but let me tell somebody right now that struggling with suicidal thoughts you don't want anybody to know because you think people think that you're weird that you have problems you have issues that nobody can help you can i tell you god is in this room and god's people are in this room and if you're struggling with that spirit can i if you're struggling with that issue if you're struggling with that in your mind and you want to end it all can i tell you you do not have to end it all but you're serving a god that will help you you're serving a god that surrounds you with people who will open you with loving arms and not judge you but say hey there's hope for you there's a future for you you don't have to end it all god loves you god cares about you [Music] but you gotta allow god to help you you can walk out of this place acting like you got it all together and continue to suffer but you need to come up to this front and you need to lift up your hands and you need to begin to call upon the name of the lord and after service you need to get in touch with somebody from this ministry staff and say hey i'm struggling i need help if you're struggling with the pornographic addiction can i tell you how you can receive help in this place you don't have to walk that road alone but there are people in this very room that have struggled and god helped them [Music] don't you let your shame don't you let what the enemy's telling you right now keep you from getting help but you can come up to this front expose those things to god and god will change your life god will turn your life around we're witnesses that god will help you i want everybody under the sound of allah i feel the hope i feel the help of the holy ghost in this room right now i want you to begin to lift up your hands and i want you to begin to pray right now there's about to come a peace in this room there's about to come a refreshing in this room there's about to come restoration in this room
