would permit me however to say thank you to your good pastor I love pastor Sloan and his sweet wife and their beautiful family and all of you this beautiful congregation what a what a high honor it is to be with you it's good to be with family I love Doron and Sarah very much and so blessed to be part of their family and I commend their anointed leadership in music ministry it's just so refreshing and you probably know how good you've got it but if you don't you probably all ought to know you've got some anointed people working in ministry in this church and that is a tremendous tremendous blessing a man it's good to be my friend Sam you'll hold them I feel a little bit safer if I'm in the room with ahold of them because all of them are taller than me and I prefer Josh but Sam will do in a pinch I suppose I really do love this this great guy and great family amen amen there is a challenge in scripture for preachers and that is to speak as the Oracle of God and that is challenging but it's it's never been more challenging than it is now and it's easier when you're preaching to people who affirm the word and I believe that there will be an affirmation of the word of God in this place here today I must apologize to the multi media I sent them notes and tidal slide and all kinds of cool stuff and you might as well hit the delete button on that proverbs chapter 15 verse 6 the Lord spoke to me a few moments ago and I have to follow the direction of the Lord so if you would go with me to proverbs chapter 15 verse 6 proverbs 15 verse 6 I love the book of Proverbs because you can just take a verse out of it and preach for days I had one a man and one nervous laugh from over here so proverbs 15 verse 6 is an incredible text and it has revolutionized my perception of my role as a man of God and I think it's going to help us proverbs 15 verse 6 reads in the house of the righteous is much treasure but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble in the house of the righteous is much treasure but the revenues of the wicked is much where is trouble I want to preach for just a few moments here tonight from this text on the subject guarding the treasure of your house guarding the treasure of your house if you would put your Bibles down and lift your hands with me let's pray together father thank you for your word its anointed and God I thank you for the anointing that I feel on myself as your minister and I pray that acceptable words would be found that I would preach to open ears and ready receiving minds and sincere Souls would receive your word and God I pray that your kingdom come and your will be done and earth as it is in heaven and god the need that you have shown me in this house and the burden that I have for it I pray that your word would minister to that need in Jesus name let everybody say in Jesus name thank you for standing you may be seated god bless you in the history of the Hebrews there are men and women of notoriety and while David and Esther get a lot of the press when it comes to Sunday School lessons and Vacation Bible School analogies there are others that had enormous impact on God's kingdom as it relates to Old Testament context one of which was a young man named Hezekiah Hezekiah destined to be king became such at the ripe old age of 25 this young king 25 year-old Hezekiah king of God's chosen people immediately went to work the scripture lets us know that he opened and repaired the tabernacle doors he found that God's house was in disarray beginning at the doors they were not operating as they should so what belonged inside couldn't enter and what should not have been within its walls could not escape so the beginning of Hezekiah work was to repair and replace the tabernacle doors that's what he did upon opening the doors he found that the tabernacle was polluted with foreign objects and Pagan emblems things that had no place in God's house and so while he did not stop at the door he went inside and he began to clear out everything that did not belong in the tabernacle of God after he got God's house in order and the doors properly functioning Hezekiah this young king went to war and he defeated the Assyrians Hezekiah was rising in notoriety he was on track to have as much infamy as the great kings that had preceded him indeed people talked about Hezekiah with high hopes he was bringing paganism to a halt and he was restoring the holiness of God he was ending the captivity of Israel and he was leading captivity captive he was a great king he was a young king nonetheless he was a great king but as life so often does Hezekiah was thrown he was thrown this curve he was he was he was perplexed by a disease and this disease put him flat of his back and as he lay ailing the scripture lets us know that his prophet we would call him his pastor Isaiah came with a word from God to meet Hezekiah on his deathbed all of us know you know the standard protocol of a pastor when he comes into the hospital room somebody's sick pastor comes in you know respectful honorable but upbeat smiling fresh bottle of anointing oil in his pocket you know conversing with the nurses of the doctors taking good care of you things like that I say it was not that kind of pastor I say it was was not there to anoint Hezekiah with all I say I had a word for god and it was not a good word it was a it was a troubling word it was a perplexing word in fact it was a word that calls has a guy to have doom and gloom in his heart when his pastor prophet Isaiah stood over him looked at him and said God sent me with a word you're gonna die he turned around and walked away I don't know what you envision as a good pastor but I wouldn't know boat for Isaiah I mean I don't know about you but Isaiah walked away and in the moments that succeeded that death sentence from God scripture says that Hezekiah put his face to the wall and he began to beg God he began to plead with God he began to pray in such a way that it caught God's attention to the point that by the time Isaiah had got out of the infirmary where Hezekiah was lying dying by the time he had got out of there into the courtyard of of the building where Hezekiah was dying God stopped Isaiah he said hey turn around and go back in there tell that prayin King that I've given him 15 more years Hezekiah had put his face to the wall and he had pleaded with God and reminded God of his promise and that that God got no glory out of a king dying that that that he probably reminded him of the words of David that they that go down into the grave cannot praise You God and and so Hezekiah began to pray like that he began to plead like that he began to seek God like that and because of his impassioned prayer his intercessory conversation the scripture says that God repented of his prophecy and sit his prophet back into that room to tell him no you're not going to die in fact you're going to live another 15 years and Hezekiah responded like we probably would prove it right you know we'd take a bad word from God at face value a favorable word from God we need the Seas to roll back son to pause in its place and maybe reverse a little bit in fact that's what God did he reversed the shadows on the time signature of that city so that Hezekiah would know of a surety that his prayers had been answered this is the kind of man that one would think would be the greatest leader of all leaders he had the opportunity to know of a surety that God was God and able to heal but not just that he knew that he had the ability to put his face to the wall and convince the almighty Hezekiah not only knew of his power with God but Hezekiah knew he knew how long he had to live he could he could govern his time better than any one of us because he knew the clock was ticking down he had 15 years more to live 15 years more to lead 15 years more to write 15 years more to to preserve the integrity of the tabernacle 15 years more to defeat the enemies of God he he had he had yet more than than what any leader could ever ask for power with God and a certain amount of time to govern and so one would think that this man hezekiah this young king hezekiah would live a little bit differently one would think that having a second chance a new Dilys own life a fresh opportunity to fulfill his calling one would think that this young king hezekiah would would would do mighty exploits and and and fully make make use of his time and of his power to pray and of his ability to communicate with God and of his relationship with this epic prophet Isaiah one would think that in this scenario he would make more use of those 15 years than anyone else had made of their entire life but alas alas there was a letter that had come in the midst of Hezekiah illness a letter that had called his attention a letter from a neighboring king that he had admired secretly the scripture says in Isaiah 39 verse 1 reading through verse 8 Isaiah 39 verse 1 the pastor the prophet Isaiah records of this young King Hezekiah at that time marrow doc ballad on the son of Ballad on the king of Babylon had sent letters and a present to Hezekiah or he had heard that he had been sick and was recovered now ladies and gentlemen I don't know about you if you've read the five love languages you know that there's a test that you take at the end to see which one you like the most I broke the test I like every bit of it you can send me a gift we can spend quality time you can hold my hand I mean there's just a lot of ways that you can show love and I'm gonna get it but I gotta tell you if you really want to ring my bell send me something from Amazon I mean just whatever one of my best friends in the world just random well he's got the same disease I've got it and that is we like getting stuff so we give one other stuff that's how we get out of the guilt of buying stuff for ourselves we find out what the other wants and send it to the other it's a good operation y'all something shows up in the mail or Donna says who's that from from waning what we're buddies we're pals we're close Jonathan and David operation that's what's going on between us Mara Bok Mara doc balidaan the king of Babylon had sent Hezekiah a gift and a letter because he heard that he was sick and had recovered it was kind of a get-well celebration gift Hezekiah was glad when he got that letter and those gifts and he brought marelok ballad on this king of Babylon and he showed him the house of his precious things because in the house of the righteous there's there's much treasure he showed him silver he showed him gold he showed him the spices in the precious ointment and all the house of his armor and all that was found in his treasures there was not one thing in his house nor of his dominion or his authority that Hezekiah did not expose to the king of Babylon Isaiah the prophet said unto Hezekiah he came to him and he said what do these men say to you and from where did they come Hezekiah said well they're from a far country unto me even Babylon and and and then he said what have they seen in your house Isaiah asked Hezekiah responded and said everything all that is in my house have they seen there is nothing among my treasures that I have not showed these Babylonian friends then said Isaiah to Hezekiah hear the word of the Lord of Hosts because excuse me behold the days come that all that is in that house and that which your father's have laid up in store until the they shall be carried to Babylon nothing shall be left saith the Lord and your sons Hezekiah your sons that shall issue from you which you shall father which you shall be get they shall be taken away and shall be made eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon now I don't know about you but if I was in Hezekiah shoes and I had a proven track record of getting a bad word from God hearing a negative report from a prophet hearing a convicting word from my pastor I can tell you if I had a proven track record of being able to repent and put my face to the wall and cause God to shift and and to change I can tell you what I would have done in that moment I again would have put my face to the wall I again would have pleaded with God I again would have called out to the Almighty and said god I can't lose what my what my forefathers left and for me to lie I can't lose the the treasure that I have in your house God I can't lose the precious things the silver and the gold the spices and the ointment the armor and the treasures I can't lose my dominion but God above and beyond all of that I can't lose my sons I can't lose my daughters I can't lose my children god I don't want to lose everything that you placed in my trust and you put confidence in me to protect God I can't do that God somehow you got a you've got to forgive me you gotta make a way of escape God you've got to reverse this word that you sent through your prophet Isaiah but the scripture perplexes me in that it does not record that Hezekiah did that in fact the opposite is true Hezekiah responded to the major prophet Isaiah with one word good you just learned that everything you were destined to protect is lost because you have developed a friendship with a Babylonian good Hezekiah you've just learned that your sons are going to be slaves in the court of your pagan king friend and you say good it blows my mind it perplexed my thoughts Hezekiah said good as the word of the Lord which thou has spoken he said moreover for there shall be peace and truth he said who cares if I lose the treasure who cares if I lose the silver and the gold the precious things who cares if my Dominion is compromised who cares if the armor is left to the exposure of the Babylonian king who cares if I lose my kingship who cares at least peace and truth in my days who cares if my sons are doomed to slavery in the court of a pagan king being emaciated by the pagans lustful desires who cares as long as I've got peace and truth in my remaining 15 years I could care less about my heritage and my legacy his response was grossly selfish making consideration only for himself totally disregarding his heritage and his legacy he did not sign a contract understand he did not form some kind of formal Alliance understand he didn't go into a League of Nations with Babylon it wasn't anything formal like that at all it was just mere exposure that compromised the integrity of his treasure so I've come to preach to some young men and some young women in this house I've come to preach to you destined to be king in the kingdom destined to be queen in the kingdom destined to have royal authority in the kingdom of God now is not the time to form any kind of alliance with any kind of pagan there's way too much treasure in your house to risk losing it just to be friends with somebody that doesn't believe in your God somebody shout amen Babylon represents the systems of this world they are Satan's alternative to God's design and I gotta tell you the devil is defeated the scripture already let us know that Jesus led captivity captive and he gave gifts to men therefore the only Dominion that Satan has in your life as a child of light is the Dominion that you offer him by existing or living or dabbling or visiting on Friday nights the dark domain of his Dominion so I've come to tell you walk in the light as he is in the light and don't let darkness creep into your heart at all don't let darkness creep into your house at all don't let darkness creep onto your viewing list or your listening list at all don't let darkness get into your living room get into your bedroom don't let darkness - your baby's room here me in the Holy Ghost you don't need darkness in your marriage you don't need darkness in your home you don't need darkness in your lifestyle because that's the only way the devil can give in he's defeated he is defeated and I made up in my mind I got way too much treasure living at 1713 Clare Stephens circle that treasures name is Reed honest and that treasures name is Riley and that treasures name is Seamus huh and I got way too much treasure in my life I've got way too much treasure I got a church that I'm trying to lead to truth I got way too much treasure to allow a friendship with a pagan king to rob me of what God has placed in my trust it was exposure alone thank you sir it was exposure alone that compromised what God had placed in the trust of this young king hezekiah silver and gold represent the stewardship principles of God spices anointment represent the anointing armor and Dominion represent truth righteousness the gospel of peace faith salvation the word and the spirit you know the whole armour of God Hezekiah upon receiving a letter and a gift said yeah come on in I would love to show you I would love to show you I'd love to show you the silver and gold what do you think what do you think what do you think about what do you think what do you think about these spices and these ornaments the anointing what do you think about passionate praise tearful worship what do you think about shouting and exuberant glory in the presence of God what do you think what do you think about truth mereloc balidaan is that absolute or is it abstract what do you think what do you all do over there in Babylon about righteousness what is your gospel there what did your father tell you about faith how are you saved in Babylon I'm interested to know maybe we could find some common ground I know the word and the spirit is different but perhaps we could find a place of commonality compromise came as a direct result of exposure because it's not long until something moves from exposure to influence the old prophet Isaiah speaking as the Oracle of God stood before that young King and he said I know that this is going to wreck your life and I am perplexed I am disturbed when I think about Hezekiah not just by what he did and what he refused to do what did he do he said good as long as there's peace and truth in my days I'm fine but what did he refuse to do he refused to pray he refused to turn his face to the wall again he refused to prove God again I'm disturbed by that not for his sake alone but I'm disturbed by that for mine because I know if that young king could do that then I could do the same now and so I pray to you right now Jesus that you would give me the strength I need as a man the strength I need as a husband the strength I need as a father the strength I need as a pastor to card the treasure of my house that's not entirely true but if you would permit me to do so for just a moment sir you are responsible for the spiritual integrity of your home the spiritual integrity of your life the spiritual integrity of your family the spiritual integrity of your marriage the spiritual integrity of your children hear me it's not time for you to be like Hezekiah and say I don't care about peace and truth in my son's life just as long as I've got it in my 15 years I say no no no no no what was passed down to me from my father I am desperate to pass forward to my sons and if I can do that he said there's a treasure calls called marriage and I'm calling some men and some women some husbands and some wives to guard that in this congregation there's a treasure called family and I'm calling some moms and some dads to guard that in this congregation get up and tell them to guard it when I walked in this room I've ever been burdened before there's some young man there's some young women have a tremendous calling and destiny upon your life and God forbid you stoop to be popular you stoop to be a president you stoop to be a pop-culture icon and resist the calling of God I will tell you that there is a treasure in earthen vessels there is a treasure in earthen vessels and it's called the holy ghost the earnest of our inheritance the calling of God the anointing of God the fire of the Spirit and I can tell you it's worth protecting there is no friendship with this world that justifies the enmity with God that comes as a result don't be like Hezekiah don't be like Hezekiah make up in your mind I will guard the treasure of my house this message the oneness of God and the new birth is worth protecting this church and it's separation from the world is worth protecting this reward is worth protecting and the family is worth protecting Joshua 24:15 we've quoted it it might be even hanging on a plaque in your home somewhere joshua stood up before the children of his own he said if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord choose you this day whom you will serve whether it be the gods which your father's served that we're on the other side of the flood or the gods of the amorite and whose land you dwell but as for me as for me in my house Sallah that's for me and my house we will serve the Lord Joshua stood with his face set like a flint facing his peers and what was supposed to be his following and he said whether you follow me or not as beside the point as for me and my wife we're not gonna let the culture define our marriage as for me and my sons we are not gonna let the culture define our relationship as for me and my daughters we are not gonna let the culture to find their identity as for me in my house we're serving the Lord because Joshua said I've taken a long hard look at what I've got in my hand it came from my father's and it's going to my grandchildren and you can do what you want but as for me and mama we don't made up in our minds as for me and my boy we've done settled it as for me and my little girl we've already established it as for me and grandpa and grandma as for me and my grandchildren and my great-grandchildren it's already been settled I got too much treasure in my house to compromise it with any kind of relationship it's New Testament doctrine you do with it what you got to but the scripture says friendship with the world is enmity with God I'm not willing I'm not willing to compromise my connect my connect point with the eternal God just to be popular with the king of Babylon no no no no no give me God's design you can keep the cultures dysfunction give me God's destiny you can keep Satanic alternative I made up in my mind I'm gonna stand at the gate a with me if you please I'm not finished I just feel better if you're standing the scripture says as arrows are in the hands of a mighty man so are the children of the youth and happy is the man that has his quiver full of them we quote that a lot and it justifies men and women going into marriage and having babies but the next verse says they shall not be ashamed they will speak with the enemy at the gate what that means is this that a father with a mother and their children will face the enemy at the access point and say you can't come any further because we got treasure in here that came from our fathers and it's going to our grandchildren and the only thing standing between you and it is us and you ain't come any closer that's how I feel about my relationship with my wife that's how I feel about my relationship with my children my daughter and my son they already know we're set apart from this world we're not subject to the cultural trends of the age I got to preach to somebody in this place if you're looking if you're looking for God's will for your life and your family in your home you're gonna have to turn off your favorite sitcom you're gonna have to disconnect from your favorite reality TV show and you're gonna have to get into the Word of God and remind yourself but by His grace you'll be like Hezekiah and I would to God that you would hear this preacher today I've come to you like Isaiah come to his young his young Protege King Hezekiah saying how much did you show them don't tell me he showed them the gold and the silver yeah yeah sure not the spices in the ointment well sure the armor yeah the matt reum your Dominion well yeah i'm i showed him inside there did you introduce him to your sons cuz Hezekiah he's going to have all of that and all of them okay least I got peace and truth in my days hear the words of Jesus saying lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust does corrupt and where thieves break through and steal but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust dust corrupt and where thieves do not break through and steal for where your treasure is there will you heart be also what does that mean I gotta put my treasure in heaven I'm responsible I'm responsible for that little six-year-old curly-headed girl I'm responsible for that little four-year-old knuckleheaded boy he's just like me I can call him a knucklehead I'm responsible I'm responsible for this anointing that God has placed in my life I'm responsible I'm responsible for the fact that he has placed his spirit within me this treasure and earthen vessel I'm responsible I'm responsible for those precious people that call tower of Pentecost their home church and responsible responsible all of this treasure I'm responsible to make sure it gets it gets pushed into the heavens I cannot afford to be like Hezekiah because I need peace and truth not just in my days but I need peace and truth in Rylan's days and jaemin's days I need peace and truth in the people i pastor's family heck I love Hosea I can see their faces even as I preach to you knowing their marriage is in jeopardy I got to put my face to the wall until it gets fixed the children are backsliding I got to put my face to the wall until the prodigal is come back home I end up I say hey LEM I am nice man I got letters in my mailbox gifts from Babylon I got to put my face to wall and ignore the offering of the pagans Oh God I pray Jesus yes I pray Jesus that the spirit of intercessory prayer that saves lives heals diseases renews relationships restores families and saves Souls I pray that then anointing would sweep through this room baba saya we're gonna make an altar call here it's gonna be phased so if you're left if I don't call for you just immediately just make it I'm gonna make a total call here just bear with me for a moment I call first for every man with his wife that would put God at the center of your marriage sir take your wife by the hand and lead her with your children if you have them to the Zolder I want you to physically connect with your spouse Jose Abajo Abajo saya collar behind alibi saya if you need to sit when you come that you can sit on the front row whatever you need to do I don't want to put you out physically but if you can come forward and give room for those that are filing in behind you that would be gracious there'll be others that come to this older come forward if you can I cannot express to you how vital you are I can't tell you how important your home and your relationship is to God and His Church I can never overemphasize the vitality of the treasure that you have in your relationship when I walked in this room God gave me a momentary sense of the burden that he has for every one of you I stand before you preaching the best I know how what God would say sir don't be like as a guy on don't be like as a guy I want you to take your wife by the hand place your hand on your children dad I want you to pray right now in Jesus name hail abajo scion of a higher god I go to spiritual war for every marriage every family represented by these people in this altar right now I take Dominion and authority over every force that would compromise the integrity of their treasure and I pray right now in Jesus name that your kingdom come and you will be done in earth as it is in heaven I pray God that the unity that these husband's share with their wife would be so powerful and so anointed and so strong and so pure that no enemy that no enemy could not foul the integrity of their relationship I pray in Jesus name over every father and over every mother Jesus I pray right now God that their integrity as such would be undefiled and pure and that sons and daughters Jesus would submit to their father and their mother God that you would protect and that you would anoint that you were destined and you would purpose that you would design and you would God the treasure that you have placed in these homes in these relationship sending these families in Jesus name I pray in Jesus name in Jesus name in Jesus name in Jesus name I called everyone else in this house who understands that it is the will of God in his design to fill you to the utmost with his spirit this treasure in earthen vessels as the Apostle Paul referred to it I want you to come not as a family now but as an individual just you and God in this moment you got some things you need from God intercessory prayer is gonna provide for them right now you've gotten to some desires you've yet to see fulfilled calling out to God putting your face to the wall like Hezekiah did it's gonna be the answer to your prayer right now there's gonna be some anointing men and women of God that come and lay their hands on you over the next few moments what's gonna happen in this house is going to be unprecedented the Spirit of God is literally going to revolutionize your life the Spirit of God is going to revolutionize your passion the Spirit of God is going to revolutionize your purpose and your destiny because you will recognize you stepping forward in this moment is a commitment to God to say I'm gonna guard my anointing I'm gonna protect my relationship with him I'm gonna guard my calling I'm going to protect the destiny that God has placed in my life I'm not gonna compromise it with any relationship I'm not gonna compromise it with any friendship I'm not gonna lose my integrity for any amount of popularity I have made up in my mind I'm guarding the treasure my house what my grandmother gave to me I'm gonna give to my grandchildren what my grandfather gave to me I'm gonna give to my grandchildren I'm guarding the treasure in my house both match both my heritage and my legacy I'm guarding I'm guarding I'm guarding the treasure of my house
