wonderful pastor and pastor's wife I could not say enough good about them but they have I grew up with my father being my pastor and so sometimes those roles blend together really close so it has been an honor to have with us alone that's played such impressionable role in my life I appreciate you for that I appreciate this church our world is full of categories that we place things in people into we have the athletic and the unathletic we have those that are cool and those that are lame if you don't know who the lame ones are it's probably you I'm just messing there are some that are considered smart and some not so smart the aforementioned joke applies here as well some are label two-halves while others bear the Scarlet Letter of the have-nots all have different labels of society's success but today could we narrow it down to two things rejection and restoration rejection and restoration the definition of the word rejected is to dismiss as inadequate and appropriate or not to one's taste the definition of restoration is the action of returning something to a former owner place or condition you would hear me for just a moment I want to preach for about from rejection to restoration dear Lord would you take us in our minds to have us open and hearing and willing to understand Lord what you have placed on my heart this message has been in my heart for some time Lord and I pray that it begins to have a resounding call to the people or that there's an understanding of what you can take them from and what you can put them into God we are not forever to live in the state of rejection but you will restore us God and for that we thank him in Jesus name the short story goes today Satan got me today Satan whispered you are failing at everything and for a moment I nodded in agreement today Satan said they are doing it so much better than you ever could and I looked around the room and said yes yes they are today Satan nudged don't you wish your life looked more like theirs and I allowed my vulnerable heart to go there today Satan softly murmured everyone sees you only for the broken thing you are and a tear trickled down my cheek today he condemned me you are no more than your mess and I believed every word today Satan bellowed to me you are not enough and then I responded with him no but with Jesus I am today for a moment Satan got me but then I remember for all of eternity Jesus has me in his hands today say plan of attack may no longer be too physically kill you he may no longer be in the moment of today just to take your life but he wants to convince you that you are so rejected and so destitute with no ability to move beyond the place you're in now that your life has no value that God never placed a calling upon your life but can I say when there is a realization that you are in the hands of Jesus the opinion of the enemy has no authority for several sometimes the presence of rejection has woven itself into our society we have believed the lie of the enemy the enemy has planned in the mint mind are planted in the mind of many people that they are simply the rejects the last the one with no value for those who have nothing they feel worthless and for those that have everything they believe they don't have enough we are caught in between a rock and a hard place between what society's labeled us as to what God has called us to be my message and purpose is simple at one point we are all rejects some of us here today have experienced the sting of sin at all levels maybe you have experienced drugs or sexual immorality some sins small and some big but doesn't matter how small the sin is doesn't matter how big it is if you allow it to creep its way into your life and you begin to believe the lie of the enemy something as small as a white lie can begin to tear at your moral fabric the fact is we are sinful following people desperate for God to come and transform our life Romans 3 and 23 prove this for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God so hear and understand when I tell you that when the Lord understands your past he truly understands your past but the Bible also says in Hebrews eight and 12 for I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities and will I remember them no more now in the scripture the Lord is talking specifically to a to a group of people but the principles of the word of God still apply can I preach to all the rejects in the house today when when true repentance is added to the mixture of your life God is no longer concerned with your past he is simply passionate about your future God looks over the balcony of heaven him and hears the sinner's prayer and begins to realize and beckon to that young one and say you're mine I care for you it doesn't matter what you've done wrong it doesn't matter the places that you've been but if I can take you from rejection to restoration I'll do it but there has to be the surrender of your life I believe that there are some here today that have been in church for years that have never forgiven or forgotten their own past some of you aren't able to be restored because you can't stop rejecting yourself if God Himself is willing to forget then why are we so committed to holding on to the things that are under the blood please hear me when I tell you what's going to happen God is going to take you from the place of rejection to restoration God is not concerned with your doubts he just wants to verify your future God it's not afraid of how far your family might have gone or how torn it might be he he knows and understands the fears on a daily basis he understands how the pain can creep its way in and how you can begin to twist your mind and to believing the lie of the enemy but at the mention of the name of Jesus there's power and authority at the mention of the name of Jesus there's a supernatural effect that begins to take place that no matter how deep we get that no matter how hurt we get when we fall in our face and we say Jesus would you work in my life God would you begin to work inside of me I know I'm not worth much but Lord I'm still willing so Jesus what you're working and little by little to restore picks us up and dusts us off and says I've got a plan for your life that's just Lord I'm convinced that attached to the hip of our society today is the mindset of a victim that has defeated us on every turn and it's quickly trying to attack my generation more than any other I believe this mindset is nothing more than the enemy causing us to reject the things of God and the things that he has in store for us he rejects God because of what she said about him and she rejects God because of what he said about her and and he thinks that he he should have made more money on his job and she thinks that he should be a better husband and and and there's all these complex situations that we allow to creep in to our lives only for the purpose of allowing us to believe that we are victim all those situations hard yes do I have the answer for everything no do I understand that there are things that are unexplainable that happens in our life but we have to be committed to the idea that if we are going to be something for God it cannot be predicated off of our situation it cannot be predicated off of simply where life is now but we have to be committed to being restored we have to be committed to being renewed we have to be committed and say Lord would you create in me a clean heart would you create in me sweetheart God would you make me new again let's look at an example Joseph Genesis 37 and 3 now Israel loved Joseph more than all of his children this is the example the biblical example where we understand that you're not the first to go through it and you're not the last Joseph is the favorite of his father the Bible says that that his father made him a coat of many colors Joseph was a handsome man he was he was I'm sure confident he was proud and happy that his father loved him more the coat proudly but his brothers were not so positive of who he was in Genesis 37 and 39 Israel loved Joseph more than all his children because he was the son of his old age and he made him a coat of many colors if you jump down to Genesis 37 and 4 and when his brethren saw that their father loved him more and all his brethren they hated him it could not speak peaceably unto them let's pause right here really quick number one in your life and in your walk with God the people around you are going to experience blessings that you're not going to experience they're gonna have interactions and and they're gonna have things that happen in their life that you may never experience like that but to allow jealousy to affect our lives in such a way that we're wanting to destroy that person we've now hurt the body of Christ and here's the concept that creeps into our mind we like to think that if we could somehow sever ourselves from the body of Christ or someone else that that will hurt them and if we can hurt them somehow we'll have some sort of pleasure in doing so but what ends up happening is when someone attacks the body all they do is separate themselves from the body and the moment that you cut yourself off from the body as the moment that you begin to die the moment that you separate yourself from the presence of God the church will go on you begin to die so here the brothers are conspiring against him to make matters worse doeseth would walk up and let them know about the dreams where the sheaves that that they had would bow down to him and where the planets and the stars would bow down to him they began to be jealous and the brothers said to him shall thou indeed reign over us or shall thou indeed have dominion over us and they hated him yet the more for his dreams and for his words they hated him even more because of what he told them as a brother his brothers envied him and they conspired against him and when they saw him afar off even before they came near unto them they conspired against him to slay him they threw him in a pit and I can see Joseph at the bottom and looking up wondering why he was where he was feeling rejected wishing that he could get back to the place that he was before maybe when he was a little younger and his brothers didn't have so much against him and wondering why so many people hate him and he wonders what did I do to get here and why just so many have their own opinions of me that I haven't done anything wrong one thought after the other plagues his mind as he's wondering why he's been rejected by the ones that should love him the most but little by little as the story goes on God begins to restore but it gets worse before it gets better God takes Joseph's time and time again from the mountaintop back to the valley from the mountain top back to the valley but could I tell you that you are not the first victim there was people in the Bible time after time again including Christ himself that were the victims of unspeakable things but they decided that there was a greater plan there was a greater calling on their life if we could hold on long enough that we won't be a victim forever Deuteronomy 20 enforces for the Lord your God and is he that goeth with you to fight for you against your enemies to save you Isaiah 6 and 1 in the new year in the year that King Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon the throne high and lifted up in his train filled the temple church hear me you won't be a reject forever if you will submit to the master and his restoring plan if you're willing to give yourself over to the things of God there will be a restorer waiting for that loves you and cares for you and wants to take you to something greater what about the woman with the issue of blood twelve long years she desperately searched for a cure but there was done all kinds of people the day that she touched Jesus had touched Jesus as Jesus walked through the crowd many brushed up against him many reached out their hands but there was a difference their intent was different she had a desperation and a need for God to move in her life you think that she didn't feel rejected you think that her heart didn't break every time the doctor told her that there was no hope but when she touched just the frayed thread of that robe mixed with the desperate intent virtue left the body of Jesus and when that virtue left she was healed and made home to this very day you have the opportunity to touch that same hymn of that same garment when you feel rejected like a woman with the issue of blood can I introduce you to an altar with that same hem of that garment runs strong you can touch the hem of the garment of Jesus and feel the virtue of God you beat yourself black and blue it's almost as though in a spiritual sense you're like the woman with the issue blood you're standing exactly in the place that God can change your situation from rejection to restoration the soul I am a young preacher but to come today with no intentions to preach somebody happy but only with the convicting thought that you don't have to stay where you are today you don't have to stay in the same place that you are because God is not the author of fear God is not the controller of fear God is not the one that's going to plant that in your life am i God is the restorer my God is the one that cares and my God is the one that said yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil God's the one that said and I will lay down my life for you David had an anointing on his life the Prophet comes into the house of Jesse in and looks at all the sons and quickly decides that they are not who needs to be anointed to be the king if you read some commentaries you find out that that David was possibly the reject of his family the run if you will questionable how he was conceived in in in kind of ISM you can fill in the blanks it wasn't probably done in the most appropriate manner but nevertheless out tending the sheep was God's future anointing rejected by his own family some even say wasn't allowed to eat at the table of Jesse but God had a plan and a purpose so when the Prophet walked in and saw that they weren't who God was calling he said would you go is there any other sons he said there is and out in the field came came David and he anointed him and God put into place the next king of Israel but there the young rejected man before pastor song he ever became King before he ever fulfilled where he was an and for that name he killed a giant he killed a lion and he killed a bear before he ever fulfilled God's plan for his life he dealt with the rejection but he still rose above it to kill some things in his life before he ever fulfilled God's plan for his life he said I am anointed to be the king but let me take care of what's going on right now before you feel your calling today Church can I tell you that God has a plan for your life now God has a purpose for your life now and though you feel rejected him and pushed aside you can you submit to his will can you submit to his will if we have the heart to follow after Christ the road will lay itself out before us we don't have to plan every hill and valley we don't have to understand every up and down in and out but we simply follow after the voice of God and the things that we are and the things that we experience in our life all the sudden become and look different as we make Jesus the center focus of our life the distractions of our world today have plagued our minds we are so I think it's maybe 10,000 maybe maybe more advertisements that we can take in in a day's time from billboards to signs to music to television to social media we are constantly filtering things through our minds that are not of God doubts and the questions then begin once we take our eyes off Jesus once we take our eyes off Jesus and then we begin to believe the lie of the enemy we're not good enough that God hasn't really called us that God doesn't have a plan for our life but God's purpose to take you from rejection to restoration started the day that you were born and he knew everything that you were going to go through he knew every trial who knew every you know every heartache he knew every error every bump in the road that you were going to aryans and God had a plan and a purpose would you stand with me musicians can come I feel the presence of the Lord right now would you lift your hands I think the Lord wants to do something right now God Lord I pray right now for those that are feeling the spirit of rejection and fear and doubt God I pray Lord that you're a hedge of protection we'll begin to wrap around every life Jesus come on what you begin to pray that Lord would you wrap yourself around me Jesus he other God I pray Lord that she'll begin to give a healing and an anointing God that says we are not meant just to stay where we are but God you've called us to somewhere higher to somewhere crater got a quick story rockefeller richest man in modern-day history to my knowledge had Standard Oil Company he supplied that kerosene that he got from the all from his refineries all over the United States Standard Oil was said would like to light the country that kerosene on the Vanderbilt trains would get transported across the u.s. oftentimes to people's homes as far as you could imagine and they would take that kerosene and they would begin to light their homes with it until somebody came along and messed everything up mr. Edison all of a sudden that kerosene compared to what he was doing and making with it was basically worth nothing and so so he said look I'm losing everything he's he's bleeding money the refineries are are are worthless at this point but but he thought of something to make the kerosene there was a filtration process and as things begin to be taken out of it and separated it would get put into different batts containers or dumped reporter and there was this substance that for all these years they had been rejecting and they had been dumping and they said that it was too volatile they said they couldn't control it enough I said they didn't have the ability to work with it it was too dangerous it was too out of control but Rockefeller was someone willing to try anything to find a niche to make some money and so he went back and he said listen could somebody bring me some of that stuff that we've been siphoning off so they brought it to him and and they said it's too flammable it was too explosive but that thing they begin to work with it and little by little they begin to add this or try that or do this or do that come to find out the thing that they had been rejecting for all those years was the gasoline that we put in our cars today they said there was no value in it but when he found the thing that he had been rejected and he put the value and the effort into it and said I see something here I can picture as everybody doubted him but he said to one of his workers at the refinery hey why don't you go back to that warehouse that debt where we got all that stuff piled up that we don't think has any value maybe it has danger written on the door he said why don't you go and bring me a 50 gallon drum with that and little by little through refining and working with it they found a way to make it working and he became richer after he discovered that the automobile was now able to be invented I wonder if today if if the Holy Ghost moving of God if the reason sometimes for the slow and we wonder why the revival isn't happening in our church the way we think it is there should is because we ourselves have allowed our mentality to reject the world around us we may have finally came to the point that we believe God can restore me God can restore you brother Sloane but have we doubted what God can do in our families have doubted what God can do in our community I believe that the revival and the Holy Ghost moving power that was there on the day of Pentecost and the one that was on his oozes Street can happen again in my generation if there's somebody that's willing to say I'll go to the rejection and I'll go get him and bring him into the church yes they might be a little too volatile and yes it might be a little dangerous sometimes but I was the rejects because such were some of you and they said listen Rockefeller when you touch fire to it you can't control it when you touch fire to it you can't contain it and Rockefeller said I don't care bring it to me we're going to work and make something out of it I submit to you today that there's gasoline running through the streets of this city and that others are saying there's not enough to control we can't handle it we can't contain it but if we could get it into the church and as I said in the books of book of Acts it's set upon them like a fire and we can never touch the Holy Ghost to those that are rejected and those that are destitute and those that are broken if we could give them an interaction with Jesus instead of labeling them as dangerous and rejected and broke in it and not good enough I know we don't say that out of our mouths but don't tell me your heart doesn't think it's sometimes that there and it's too strung out but they're too far instead can our prayer say not if but when God when you bring them into this church there's going to be something that's going to connect to our greatest revival does not rely on these four walls or who's in it it's about who we can bring into it but it's your responsibility say Lord convict me it's go and reach somebody I'm teaching a Bible study with a guy named cauri right now we're on a five five weeks of search for truth and guess what I don't have all the answers I don't have it figured out I haven't mastered anything but we sat there we talked for about thirty minutes about sports and then we opened the Word of God and we just begin to talk and have a relationship and I believe for the song he's going to get the baptism of the Holy Ghost but it doesn't take it doesn't take somebody just just to be an explosion it takes someone that's willing to be consistent somebody that's willing to be consistent when Rockerfeller discovered the power of gasoline he didn't happen overnight somebody had to work with it somebody had to say what could we do here and then then they they combined it with a combustion engine it happened to have the rejects become restored we have to be willing to work with them and say I know you don't have it all together I know you don't have it figured out but the same way God restored me God's gonna restore you every hand lifted every eye closed that person if it's you today that's your feeling like the reject I want you to begin to pray that God will begin to put the restoration in your life but if it's somebody in your family if it's a friend I want you to begin to pray for me and I believe that there's going to be a supernatural move of the Holy Ghost in the house can you do that Church can you do that God would you begin to use me would you use me Jesus what you use be Jesus would you use Jesus I need you Jesus show the restorer Jesus you don't know nobody you see me Jesus you know my heart what I am broken my life it's in pieces but your
