Peter said therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God hath made that same Jesus whom you have crucified both Lord and Christ now when they heard this they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter and to the rest of the Apostles men and Brethren what shall we do then Peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost for the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off even as many as the Lord Our God shall call and with many other words did he testify and exhort saying save yourselves from this untoward generation then they that gladly received his word were baptized and the same day they were added unto them about three thousand Souls and they continued steadfastly in the apostles Doctrine and fellowship and in Breaking of bread and in prayers this past Sunday we celebrated Pentecost we shouted we praise God we saw people receive Pentecost at both campuses we saw people receive Pentecost we see we saw people received the baptism of the Holy Ghost but I've come tonight to minister on this subject after Pentecost after Pentecost father I love you I thank you Lord for your goodness I thank you for your presence I thank you God for your promises now Lord I ask you tonight to bless my son as he ministers the word in Mattoon Illinois I ask God that you would anoint his mind bless what he studied today and let many Souls God be brought into the kingdom I ask you tonight Lord to anoint my lips of clay that I may speak anoint the ears of the people tonight God anoint our hearts that we may value Doctrine Lord that we may value the instructions of your word and Lord I'll give you the praise and give you the honor in Jesus name we pray amen amen before you seated I want to ask you one more time to lift up your voice and lift up your hands and give God praise to God right now Hallelujah glory to God thank you o Lamb of God I will lift my voice up and praise you tonight I will magnify you while I have my being for you are a great God and a mighty God hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah now put your hands together it may be seated let me take a moment and try to describe the atmosphere in the upper room the atmosphere that was there you see they had never received the gift of the Holy Ghost before the Holy Ghost had not yet been given it never received it they were just simply told to go back to Jerusalem and wait for it just go back there and and wait for it and of course they filled a few days some believe it was between seven and ten days they feel that time with the way that we ought to feel that time when God gives us a promise we ought to feel the time to the promises fulfilled with prayer and with praise they were in an upper room about 120 of them they were waiting for something they had never received they had they had never received the Holy Ghost before they were just told don't leave Jerusalem until you're endued with power so there they are in that Upper Room 120 Mary the mother of Jesus was there several other women was there the apostles were there minus Judas they were there and they were praying and praising God for this promise and then all of a sudden well let's just read it in our Bibles Acts chapter 2. and at verse number one and when the day of Pentecost was fully come they were all in one Accord that means one Frame of Mind One frame of mind all 120 had one frame of mind to receive something they had never received before but to receive the Holy Ghost they had they had one frame of mind one Accord is in one place and suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing Mighty Wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting now although it is not recorded although it is not recorded I believe I'd be on pretty safe ground tonight to say they were probably walking around I know sometimes we're praying and we'll walk around a little bit and clap our hands and Worship the Lord and sometimes our our our our legs get bent and in that kneeling position we just kind of want to get up move around sometimes and clap our hands and I can just see the 120 kind of walking around the room and maybe some were kneeling I know the Bible does say that we're sitting and and uh they were just there and and and and and then all of a sudden I believe I'm on pretty safe grounded maybe one of them said it's just depending one of them said hey you hear that you hear that then all of a sudden there came a sound as of a rushing Mighty Wind and I imagine that the prayer kind of settled down a little bit because the sound this as of the sound of a mighty rushing wind filled all the house where they were sitting and as the sound filled the house something else happened there appeared into them cloven tongues like as of fire they saw a visible a visible flame like as a fire tongues like as a fire and it came and it set upon each of them now now just understand they've never received the Holy Ghost here's the sound here's the appearance of fire and it comes and it sets upon upon them and then verse 4 happened and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the spirit gave them the utterance and then Peter went to preaching and as he began to preach the dead beer and Resurrection there were those that were convicted they were cut stabbed pricked to their hearts and they said men and Brethren what shall we do and Peter in Acts 2 38 which I've read told them the Plan of Salvation and then the Bible says that they gladly received his word they gladly received that word glad has to do with the emotions they gladly received that word and that same day they were added unto them about three thousand Souls now that's pretty good church growth for one day begin with a hundred and twenty and before the day is out about 3 000 about 3 000 are added to this to this church to this 120 what an unbelievable would you not say Amen to that what an unbelievable incredible day that was three thousand received gladly they gladly received the word of God now it is noteworthy it is no worthy that in verse 41 it says that they gladly received that word and were baptized but verse 42 is what's captured my attention is that verse 42 tells about the next step and that next step was to continue steadfastly in the apostles Doctrine or the apostles instructions now anything that is birthed in a moment of time must have Doctrine for growth you see if we're going to grow in the Lord thank God for Pentecost but if we're going to grow in the Lord we need the apostles Doctrine a movement can be birthed in a day but if it's going to grow and continue it must have the apostles the apostles Doctrine now I believe it's very noteworthy that on the day of Pentecost that the Jewish people were there on the day of Pentecost the Jewish people were there and they were celebrating the birth of the nation of Israel now this Feast of Pentecost they were there celebrating that they became a nation not with their experience of being brought out of Egypt and oh what a miraculous thing that was just as miraculous as a sound from Heaven as a Russian Mighty Wind tongues of fire and speaking in tongues just as miraculous in those sign ways was them having all the plagues that broke Egypt down them being led by a pillar of Fire by night and a pillar of cloud by day them having a body of water a Red Sea split and divide so they could walk across on dry land but they they do not and they did not celebrate their Birth of a Nation at Egypt they celebrated their Birth of a Nation when God LED Moses to the top of Mount Sinai and there at the top of Mount Sinai God gave Moses the Ten Commandments God gave Moses the law there is a lot of similarities between The Birth of a Nation physically and the birth of the church spiritually they both happened on the same day they both happened on mountains one was Mount Sinai and one was that one was the the Mount Zion both of these the birth of Israel as a physical nation was on Mount Sinai the birth of a spiritual Nation the church was upon Mount Zion and it's all celebrated it's all celebrated on the same day look at Exodus chapter 19 and verse 19 or excuse me verse number 18 and 19. this is what happened on Sinai and Mount Sinai was all together on a smoke because the Lord descended upon it in a fire and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace and the whole Mount Quake greatly and when the voice of the trumpet sounded long and waxed louder and louder Moses spake and God answered him by a voice now again I want to lead you through some events here so just just follow along with me both events occurred on a mountain Mount Sinai Mount Zion known as the Mountain of God both events happened at a new happened to a newly redeemed people The Exodus marked the birth of the Israelite Nation while the Pentecost events recorded in Acts 2 marked the verse Mark the birth of Christianity so both of these events were to newly redeemed people the law was given to Israel that had just been redeemed from Egypt the Holy Ghost was given to the church because we had been redeemed by the sacrifice and the shedding of blood of Jesus Christ both events involved God's people receiving a gift it mounts Mount Sinai they received the law of God that was the gift to them but on Mount Zion the church received the gift of the Holy Ghost in both in both events the gift was given by God settling on a mountain with the fire of his Spirit on Mount Sinai God came down in a fire on Mount Sinai and gave them the gift of the law on Mount Zion God came down as tongues of fire and gave them his spirit both events took place at the same time on the same month follow this closely the Israelites left Egypt on Passover and 40 Days Later arrived at Sinai then Moses went up on a mountain Mount Sinai ten days later Moses came down with the law or the Torah and the Israelites broke the Covenant they did they remember Moses came down and they had already they had already strayed Moses they broke the law of God that strip themselves naked Moses stayed gone 40 days or Moses stayed gone this period of time and they stripped themselves naked and Moses gave a cry out for judgment to come and he said who's on the Lord's Side and the tribe of Levi answered that call he said gird your swords on your side go from gate to gate and don't spare to to kill your brother don't spare to kill your companion and don't spare to kill your neighbor anybody that is stripped off and they are worshiping the gods of Egypt God said to kill them and it's not a coincidence that when they counted the number that was killed the number was about it says it just this way about 3 000. it's interesting to know when the law came three thousand died but when the Holy Ghost came on Mount Zion three thousand came to life three thousand three thousand came to life Jesus died on Passover 40 Days Later he went on a mountain Mount olives ten days after Jesus ascended the Holy Ghost came and three thousand people were saved 50 days after sacrificing the Passover Lamb the Israelites received a covenant from God 50 days after sacrificing of Jesus Christ Our Passover Lamb Believers received a New Covenant from God both events had similar sounds and symbols Wind Fire smoke and voices the Hebrew word for thunder in Exodus is collate and it simply means voices or languages think about this in the light of Acts chapter 2. the fire at Sinai was one fire visible by all the fire at Pentecost was was individual fires upon every person in the event at Mount Sinai the people were kept away from the fire by boundaries but in Acts the fire came down to the people I don't know about you but I thank God we got a better deal than they did on Mount Zion Mount Sinai we we got we got a better deal they could just see the fire from afar off in both events God gave his law to his people in both cases he sealed the Covenant that he had made with them at Sinai he gave the law written by his finger on tablets of stone at Pentecost he gave the law written on the tablets of our heart in both events there was a mixed multitude of people that were represented in Exodus 12 38 it says that there was a mixed multitude that was there when the fire came down on Mount Sinai there was a mixed multitude that was there in Acts chapter 2 verse 5 it said there was many different people from different from different languages from different languages that were that were there on that day when God poured out his spirit the law attempted to change people from the outside it shows it tried to change us from the outside in the Holy Ghost changes us from the from the inside out the word Torah or the word law simply means teaching or teacher the Bible says when the Holy Ghost shall come it shall teach you all things it shall teach you all things now I want you to to pay real close attention to this tonight in Matthew chapter in Matthew chapter 28 and verse 19 and while you're looking for that let me try to explain this they left Egypt and they they had a they had a very limited knowledge of God they had a very limited knowledge between Egypt and Sinai but they had enough to come out at Sinai they got the full law of God that tells us about our God hear o Israel the Lord our God is one and tells us how they were to worship that God how they were to serve that God how they were not to have any other gods before him so at Egypt at Egypt they had enough of the knowledge of God to come out but they only came out as far as the Sinai at Sinai they received more knowledge of God now hold on to that thought with me just for a moment and go to Matthew chapter 28 and verse number 19. this is what Jesus says to the apostles go ye therefore and teach everybody say teach go ye therefore and teach All Nations baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Ghost look at verse 20. teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you look at the two teachings here one we are to teach people how to come out of Egypt we are to teach them how to come out of sin we ought to teach them about the new birth you you don't teach Sinners all things about God until you first teach them how to come out of the world you you have to you have to get them born again because the Bible says unless we're born again we cannot see the kingdom of God we cannot perceive the kingdom of God a mind that is still in its sin will never understand the things that are going to be spoken all things they will never understand the apostles Doctrine they'll never understand the apostles Doctrine and and so and and I hope you're understanding what I'm trying to tell you tonight what we need to do is to hone our skills on Soul winning we need to hone our skills on getting people to see the need to repent to get see the need to be water baptized in the only saving name the name of Jesus to see the need to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost we need all of us tonight not just preachers but all of us tonight need to hone our skills because he said I want you to go into all nations and teach them baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son of the Holy Ghost and then once you get that done verse number 20 says teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I've commanded you and lo I Am With You Always even to the end of the Earth and even unto the end of the world Amen I sure hope you're seeing this tonight it's really futile to try to teach somebody the Deep things of God if they've never been born again if they've never been if they've never been born again they had enough knowledge I want to keep driving this home they had enough knowledge to get out of Egypt but enough knowledge to get out of Egypt wasn't enough they had to go to Mount Sinai and there they would be birthed as a people by receiving the full law of God just getting the baptism of the Holy Ghost was not enough if that was enough verse 41 3 about 3 000 people were added to the church verse number 42 sister Fuller ought to say and they got together and said let's do it again let's have another massive Outreach let's have another massive area he did not call us to make converts he called us to make disciples now if you'll preach to people The Plan of Salvation you can have a convert but let's don't stop at the water let's don't stop at the tons let's take them on let's take them on into the apostles Doctrine there's more than just the experience a Pentecost there's more well let me um let me um let's go to John chapter 7. verse number 14 Apostles Doctrine they continued they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine that word steadfastly means continual can I tell you an experience of the Holy Ghost can be wonderful but you will not keep it and grow unless you get a hold of the Apostles teaching you will not grow he will not grow just on an experience only you will not grow you have got to get the apostles and they continued steadfastly in the apostles Doctrine well what makes the apostles teaching as a matter of fact aren't we kind of living in a religious culture right now that Doctrine is almost a bad word it's it's almost as bad as mentioned the word submission Doctrine isn't bad as a matter of fact Doctrine is very good Doctrine is good we need to know Doctrine and we need to know the apostles Doctrine because the apostles Doctrine is just not anybody in anybody's Doctrine watch this in John chapter 7 verse number 14 John chapter 7 verse 14. now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and taught and the Jews marveled saying how knoweth this man letters having never learned in other words where do you get educated at he is the son he is the son of a poor he is the son of a poor carpenter where did he ever and please excuse me tonight you like my bald spot he's just a son of a poor carpenter where do you get his education at Jesus answered them and said my Doctrine my Doctrine is not mine but his that sent me my Doctrine isn't mine but it's his that sent me now we understand that Jesus Christ is God manifesting the flesh son of man Humanity Son of God deity as he spoke about because they're questioning his Humanity where did this man get his education at and Jesus answered from the perspective of a man and he said this is not my Doctrine he said this is the doctrine this is his that sent me If any man will do his will he shall know of the doctrine whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself or in other words he said if you'll get in the will of God you'll know if the doctrine is from God or if the doctrine is from man is it just a man-made Doctrine go to John chapter 17 verse number 6. Jesus Christ is praying and he is about he is about to enter into the time of giving himself as the sacrifice but he has a time of prayer and as he prays he said as a man as he prays he says I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world the man Christ Jesus is praying to God his father and he says I have manifested thy name I have manifested thy name you gave me these men the the apostles is who he's referring to thou gave us thou gave us me at these men out of the world thine they were and thou gave us them me and they the apostles have kept Thy word this word that came from God this Doctrine now they have known that all things whatsoever thou Hast given me are of thee they understand that whatever I've given them has come from you has come from God verse 8. for I have given unto them The Words which thou gave us me and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from thee and they have believed that thou did send me so what the apostles received when we go back and if he would put Acts 2 42 on the screen for a moment the apostles Doctrine is just not a group of men's Doctrine the apostles just didn't get together and say well what are we going to believe what are we going to teach how are we going to baptize what is going to be the Plan of Salvation what what are we going to teach as far as the deity of Jesus Christ what are we going to teach they didn't get together and Hammer that out it was already given to them it was given to them they they were simply to take it because it came from God they weren't today they they weren't they weren't to take it and and change it they were to take it and preach it they were not to get together and hold the counsel and see where do we believe what are we going to stand church family tonight it's already in the Bible what we believe we just need to read it so we know it and so we can share it amen we just need to rest already it's already here so Jesus is telling them I'm giving the apostles Acts 2 42 and they continued in the apostles Doctrine and again I know I'm belabing the point but I really want you to see this when they were given the apostles doctrine that wasn't their Doctrine it was the doctrine that was given them from God it was given them from God now anything that was given and just think about this for a moment with me and if you feel like saying a hearty amen you can say a hearty amen at the end of the statement but anything that would come from God would be powerful anything that would come from God would be life-changing it would be life-changing so let's look at Acts chapter 5 with that thought in mind Acts chapter 5 verse number 27 now the apostles have upset the religious apple cart they've they've got the devil stirred up they've upset the original the religious people because their Doctrine has no power they have a Doctrine that they're not seeing any Joy they have a Doctrine but they're not seeing any healings take place they have a Doctrine Pharisees Sadducees Doctrine but they're not seeing any lives changing but oh on the day of Pentecost when that church was birthed and they continued steadfastly in the apostles Doctrine they begin to see Miracles somebody said say Where's that lame man that sits at the gate called Beautiful begging for alms somebody said well he's not here anymore he's leaping inside of the temple how did that happen them Apostles came by that ring Leader Peter came by and said Silver and Gold Have unknown but such as I have give I Thee and the lame man got healed and there was power in their Doctrine there was power in one there was blind people being healed there was all kind of Miracles and and the church was growing they stopped even using the term numbers they went from three thousand to five thousand then they quit and they just started talking about multitudes of people well these are religious people they're they're all upset and they've had had the apostles arrested and now they call them they call them into the the courtroom and Acts chapter 5 verse 27 says and when they had brought them they set them before the council and the high priest asked them say did not we straightly command you that you should not teach in this name and behold you have filled Jerusalem with what your Doctrine an intent to bring this man's blood upon you notice this with me please notice this with me they didn't say stop healing they didn't say stop doing miracle signs and wonders they just simply said don't do it in Jesus name don't do it don't do it with your Doctrine don't do it in this name because that name was his Doctrine they said just don't don't do it anymore Acts chapter 13 and verse 7. I'm I'm doing all this to kind of show the power of Doctrine Acts Chapter 13 Verse number seven there was a man us Hollis a prudent man who called for Barnabas and Saul and he desired to hear the word of God this man wanted to hear the word of God Acts chapter 13 verse 12 then the deputy this man when he saw what was done believed because being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord now in between verse 7 and verse 12 there was this man that wanted to hear the word of God and there was another false prophet that didn't want this man to hear the word of God and so he came between Paul and this man he became a hindrance and Paul had enough of it and Paul set his eyes on him and he said you child of the devil you child of the devil now that's Paul let me tell you something he's the same man that wrote first Corinthians 13 about love okay love isn't about being flowery never say anything to upset people he said you child of the devil you are full of iniquity you're trying to hinder this man from hearing the gospel and you will be blind for a season and have to be led about by the hand and no sooner than Paul said that that that man blindness struck him and they had to lead him away which really should put something in our heart God will always make a way for us to preach the truth he may have to remove some hindrances out of the way but God's Doctrine is more powerful than anybody's hindrance will ever be there is power in the doctrine There Is Power and then when that happened in verse 12 the deputy when he saw what was done he saw the the man struck with blindness he believed being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord Doctrine is powerful Romans 6 and third excuse me Romans 6 and 16. Romans 6 16. know you not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey his servants you are to whom you obey whether of sin unto death or of obedience unto righteousness whoever you're yielding your fleshly members to if you're yielding it to sin you're going to be led to death if you're yielding it to righteousness you're going to be led to a life of holiness the Bible says in verse number 17 but God be thanked that ye were the Servants of sin but you have obeyed from the heart are you following this now that form of Doctrine which was delivered you being then made free from sin you became the Servants of righteousness thank God for a doctrine that can deliver thank God for a teaching that can bring us out of sin no wonder they had to stay in the apostles Doctrine what was the apostles Doctrine repent of your sins not make excuses for your sins come out of your sins that was the apostles Doctrine they didn't have some kind of Doctrine to try to see how far we can curb the grade to get everybody in their answer to a life that was in bondage to sin was repent of your sin change your mind about your sin and be baptized in Jesus name for the removal of your sin and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost that's a doctrine that is powerful that is a doctrine that is powerful I uh brother Akers Brother David Akers told me he used to Pastor in LaFollette and he said one Sunday afternoon he lived right beside the church there and he said he got a knock on his door and he opened it up and it was a neighbor from down the road and the neighbor said he said I've been I've been hungry and searching and said a man knocked on my door today and and I welcomed the end because he's wanting to talk to him about Jesus and and he just simply told me he simply told me not now listen I thank God for this because you got to get started at this but you don't stop he simply told me to believe thou upon the Lord Jesus Christ and I would be saved and he led me in a sinner's prayer Lord Jesus I am a sinner I confess my sin come into my life I accept you into my life and he said he he said he prayed that prayer with me and he said I was saved but he said I won't just come up here and ask you something shouldn't there be more even the world knows that there ought to be more even the world knows you can't change your life by just a mental moment of of decision and a little prayer you've got to have a powerful Doctrine delivered to you and the Bible said they they continued steadfastly if you're going to see growth in your life if you've recently been baptized and recently received the Holy Ghost and you want to you want to see growth in your life you've got to continue in the apostles Doctrine in the apostles Doctrine Hebrews chapter 6. and verse number one through three he says in Hebrews 6 verses 1 through 3 therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ let us go on into Perfection not laying again not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and a faith toward God or of the doctrine of baptisms and of the laying on of hands and of the resurrection of the dead and of Eternal judgment this will we do if God permit now he did not say he did not say forsaking the doctrine the foundation he didn't say forsake it in other words he's saying you need to build upon it we don't need to stay in our baby state of talking about our baptism and talking about our spirit baptism and always going around wondering why we don't feel what we felt three weeks ago when we got the holy you've got to go on you you've got to get a hold of the Apostles Doctrine you've got to get teaching in on the inside of you you've got to get that the apostles Doctrine on the inside of you well Doctrine is very important not just any Doctrine will do you need to understand you need to study it out cross-reference it out is this the apostles Doctrine is this their Doctrine and you find the apostles Doctrine in in in in that wonderful book that starts the book of Acts and goes all the way through the end you'll find their teachings there you'll find what they taught there about Sin not just any Doctrine will do second John second John verse number one second John excuse me second John chapter number one verse number nine listen to this man follow it closely whosoever transgresses and abides not in the doctrine of Christ the doctrine of Christ hath not God he that abideth not he that abideth in the doctrine of Christ hath both the father and the son now now that's interesting there because if you've got the teachings of Jesus Christ Jesus Christ reveals the father and the father reveals the son and if you've got that teaching you have both the father you have both the father and the son but let's let's go on a little further if there come any unto you and bring not this Doctrine see let's don't get caught up in the world that any old way will do in any old in any way any old way will any away will do he said if any come unto you and bring not this Doctrine receive him not into your house neither bid him God's speed for he that bidet him God's speed is partaker of his evil Deeds he's telling the church there he's telling the truth don't receive into Fellowship in your life don't receive into Fellowship in your life someone that doesn't bring this Doctrine now obviously our our desire and our passion should be how to show good honest-hearted people the way the way and and and and I I go about it this way I go about this way I'm not here to take away anything from your life I want to add something to it I I'm I'm not here to tell you you don't have a relationship with the Lord but I'm here I want to open up the scripture to you and let you see some more of this scripture all right now I'm going to read one last passage of scripture but I think it really it really helps it will really help you see the whole jest of this Bible lesson of the importance of Doctrine Matthew chapter 22 and verse number 23 Matthew 22 verse number 23. the same day came to him the Sadducees which say that there is no Resurrection and ask him now let me stop here and explain to you it was two main religious sects in Jesus day there were the Pharisees and the Sadducees the difference was this the Pharisees believed and they were biblically correct they believed in Resurrection they believed there was life after this they believed in a resurrection the Sadducees did not believe in a resurrection they believed that once you lived you died that was simply it there was no bodily there was no bodily resurrection and I've often joked around and said the difference between the two was the Pharisees were fair you see and the Sadducees were sad you see so um that that's the big definition so these people that believe there's no Resurrection they come to Jesus verse 24. saying master Moses said if a man die having no children his brother shall marry his wife and raise up seed unto his brother stop there that is Bible that is Bible Moses did say that Moses said that if a man had married a woman and hadn't had children by her yet and the man died the Man's brother was to take the woman and raise up children to the name of the Dead boy or the Dead the deceased now religion comes to us cloaked in scripture all right religion comes to us with a with a scripture covering but what's on the inside of their covered scripture is incorrect Doctrine all right it's incorrect Doctrine so they come they've got the right scripture now look at verse 25. now there were with us that we had a man with us of Seven Brothers there was seven in that family seven seven men seven boys and the first when he had married a wife deceased and having no issue or child left his wife and to his brother likewise the second also and the third unto the seventh and last of all the woman died also so so here it is this one woman marries a second brother he dies third she dies he dies all the way up to seven and finally um she dies here's the question therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven for they all had her now I believe they thought they had Jesus all right I believe they thought man that whose wife is she's going to be because all of them had been with her but listen to Jesus answer here Jesus in verse number 29 Jesus answered and said unto them you do air you Heir that air means to get off the path you have aired you you have aired how did I air not knowing what the scriptures nor the power of God now I want you to follow the order of this they have aired off they don't believe in a resurrection they've aired from what the Bible teaches why did they air let's look at it again why did they air they aired because they did not know the what so if a lack of knowledge of scripture causes us to err or what will a knowledge of the scripture cause us to stay on the right path but it doesn't stop there he says you have aired because you don't know the scripture and because you don't know the scripture here's the power of the doctrine you don't know the power of God because you don't know scripture you don't know how powerful our God is Jesus answered and said you do air not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God for in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are as the angels of God in heaven but as touching the resurrection of the Dead have ye not read yeah here's what he's trying to get them to do he said didn't you all read your Bible you know a lot of times religious people don't read their Bible they don't read their Bible they'll say things they'll say things and for example when religious people say baptism doesn't save you read your Bible first Peter 3 20 21 says the light figure we're unto baptism death now so how can you say baptism doesn't save you and say that with a straight face it's only because you haven't read your Bible Church family tonight let's read our Bibles let's read our Bible so we can get a world out of sin and so we can get them here you get them you get them here with the idea and understanding they need to be born again and we can set the climate in this place see them come to an altar see them give their lives to God see lives transformed right in our very midst because there is power in this Doctrine he says verse let me go back to verse 30. for in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are as the angels of God in heaven but as touching the resurrection of the Dead I I guess I just like reading this have you not read that which was spoken unto you by God saying I am the god of Abraham and the god of Isaac and the god of Jacob God is not a god of the dead but of the living and when the multitude heard this somebody help me here and when the multitude heard this what happened they were and my screen's not giving me all the scripture and when the multitude heard this they were astonished at his what were they astonished at his Doctrine I'm here to tell you tonight that what we need after Pentecost is not necessarily another Pentecost we'll have that but what we need after Pentecost we need some they told you how to work hard love your wife raise your children go to the house of God this is what they told you would you stand with me tonight God is great and God is greatly to be praised he didn't say I was the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob Abraham Isaac and Jacob's no longer here that they are they are alive to be absent from the body be present with the Lord and he said I am the god of the living and not a God not a god of the Dead let's lift up our voices right now thank god father I thank you for this powerful Doctrine I thank you Lord for the apostles Doctrine Lord I thank you
