give your bibles and would join me in the book of esther the book of esther chapter 4 and verse number 12. the book of esther chapter 4 and verse number 12 and then we will go to first corinthians chapter 15 and verse number 31. i feel like the lord has given me a word for the church tonight and as i am passing out bouquets of thank yous i am very thankful for an extraordinary church that i'm privileged to pastor and that's extraordinary church i'm privileged to pastor don't have to pull a rabbit out of the hat don't have to call for a special service just say we're having church and these people come out they worship god and they praise god and i thank you for that i truly do i thank you thank you for your faithfulness to the house of god i've had enough if i had the proper vocabulary from that vernacular that i could tell you how thankful that i am thank you for serving god but you're thankful to be one god and his name is verse 12 and they told to mordecai esther's words then mordecai i commanded to answer esther think not with thyself that thou shall escape in the king's house more than all the jews for if thou altogether hold us thy peace at this time then shall their enlargement and deliverance arise to the jews from another place but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this then esther made them return mordecai this answer go gather together all the jews that are present in shushen and fast ye for me and neither eat bread and neither eat nor drink three days night and day and i also in my maidens will fast likewise and so will i go in unto the king which is not according to the law and if i perish i perish you say that with me again and if i perish first corinthians chapter 15 verse number 31 i protest by your rejoicing which i have in christ jesus our lord i die daily i die daily for just a few moments on this sunday evening pastor would like to deliver this word dead upon arrival dead upon arrival i believe in the medical terms they will say d-o-a dead upon arrival father i love you tonight god from the bottom of my heart i thank you with all sincerity that you saw something in me and called me to preach your word and lord tonight i ask you to anoint my lips of clay with your spirit as i leave this congregation toward the rapture of the church toward times such as we've never seen before that you would give me the anointing that i could speak into the minds and the hearts of these people through the aid of the holy ghost we'll give you praise and honor and glory for no flesh shall glory in your presence in jesus name i do pray amen and amen you may be seated i came across this article that i'd like to begin my message with tonight says today the subject of cannibalism is avoided in polite fijian conversation but there was a time when ships steered a wide berth around the fiji islands no one knows exactly how these gentle people developed an appetite for human flesh some speculate that on the long sea voyages of the original settlers food ran out and they resorted to cannibalism there was no human flesh more desirable than that of sailors or missionaries who dared set foot on the islands for that reason alone we should stand in all of those christians who were willing to end up in cooking pots to spread the gospel among those brave people were james calvert and his young bride mary and i think i've got a picture of them if they could put the picture of james and mary the wesleyan missionary society of england sent this couple to the cannibal islands in 1838 though the voyage was a terrible storm tossed ride their arrival was even more frightening the ship's captain begged them not to go ashore warning the couple that they would likely be eaten but james and mary would not be dissuaded setting their faces they landed to the beating of drums shortly after landing they faced the traumatizing task of burying the remains of 80 victims of a cannibal feast but they were not dissuaded from their calling they birth they both learn the aging language james traveled across land in a leaky canoe preaching to people preaching to folks who would rather devour him than to listen to his words there was little response over the years until an act of bravery that still almost 200 years later astounds them among the other barbaric customs of the cannibal islands was that of strangling the women in the king's house when the king died the new king would go in and to ensure that none of the daughters would give birth they would strangle them to death james offered to have his fingers cut off in exchange for the life of the king's daughter i guess that gives a new meaning to finger food he that was cold he offered his fingers if they would not strangle the king's daughters though he was not taken up on his astounding offer the monarch was so impressed that he became a christian james and mary would see spectacular results in their 17-year ministry in fiji when they left fiji there was 1300 churches 30 000 baptized converts and more than 100 000 church attenders they might be amazed to know that over 100 years after they left the islands the descendants of those foreign cannibals have the highest percentage of church attendance in the world james is most remembered for his response to the ship's captain who warned he warned that he and his wife would die if they set foot on the fiji islands james replied we died before we came here this is the secret to standing strong for biblical convictions in the face of opposition when you're tempted to cut and run you just have to remember what james said to the captain don't step foot off this ship you're sure to die if you do mr captain i must tell you that mary and i died before we got here i wonder tonight in our walk with god if we really couldn't make some spiritual ground in the days to come if we would just remember what the old apostle paul said i die daily you know what the issue is with many of us while we trip stumble while we sing to be caught in a washing machine cycle of spirituality rinse spin and soak is because we have never learned the art of arriving at life's offenses already dead arriving at whatever may happen to you tomorrow the bible says great peace have they which loved god's law and nothing shall offend them you see esther he got pretty comfortable in the king's palace you were not no named servant girl until you were taken down to stand in line to see if you could find favor with the king but you found favor and your life was so changed overnight you went from a little farm girl to a princess you went from a shack to a palace you went from waiting on others to being waited on hand and foot can i tell you that that sounds a lot like you and i tonight we were poppers we were lost we had no direction we were beggars until the great hand of god came down in our lives and god began to deal with us and we soon found ourselves not trash anymore but we soon found ourselves treasure we soon found ourselves with the clarity of mind to believe that with god all things were possible we soon found ourselves meeting the right people we soon found ourselves our families were put back together we soon found ourselves living in the deep and the blessings of almighty god but can i warn us tonight god didn't just bless us to put us in the palace there is a time as such is this we're living in unparalleled political times and we have come we are the church god looked down in any congregation that he could have for this hour he chose masa the likes of you and the likes of me to represent him in this hour for we have come to the kingdom for such a time as this esther don't get too comfortable because there's going to be an event happen and the only way that you can spare yourself and your family is to reveal your identity the only way that we've got any hope because the jews will be annihilated and they'll eventually find out that you're a jew and you'll lose your life and if you hold your peace now let me tell you something if you hold your peace be well assured that god will send deliverance and an enlargement from another method from another means from another person but know that you will be destroyed would you join me tonight in telling god that i don't want him to raise anybody else up to do the job that you and i are supposed to do god in the city of maryville i don't want you to raise anybody else up here we are lord we're ready to we're ready we're reporting for duty here we are lord we're ready can i tell you i'm free i have arrived here tonight and i'm dead on arrival i am dead to offenses you can't talk me out of the church you can't lie me out of the church you can't backstab me out of the church you can't ignore me out of the church because i have arrived dead on arrival i hope this makes sense tonight esther said the words pray for me fast with me and i will go before the king and if i perish i perish sounds like to me when that little jewish girl got up that morning on the third day you see her predecessor vestai the queen before her she lost the crown because she refused to go she she refused to come into the presence of the king the presence of the king told her to come into his banquet and she refused to come in and because she refused to come in she lost her crown and esther says i have not been called to come into the king i don't have a royal summons to stand in his courtyard don't you know uncle mordecai that if someone enters the courtyard of the king uninvited there is one law that will put them to death this is not a parking ticket this is not a 50 fine it's not a smack on the wrist don't you know that when i stand in that courtyard unannounced and uncalled for that there is a law on the books that says i can be put to death do you realize what is at risk here my very life but esther played a role in history there's only two books in the old testament that's named after women esther and ruth esther goes down in history as the woman that played a role when god's name is not even mentioned in the book of esther lord god none of that is even mentioned you can't see his name in the book of esther but you can certainly trace his hand and esther simply came to the place of my message tonight and she said if i perish i simply perish i will walk into that throne room a dead woman and if i walk in there a dead woman what in the world could happen to me i'm dead on arrival see i think the world has a lot of sway on people that are not dead on arrival you see in the book of daniel chapter number one and verse number eight some hebrew young men four of them daniel shadrach meshach and abednego they had been taken captive by the king of babylon and they had been taken hundreds of miles away from jerusalem hundreds of miles away from the familiar customs of jerusalem and the songs of the temple and the reading of the law and the eating of unleavened bread and the feast days they had been taken captive there in that first chapter of daniel verse number eight they were being fattened up by the king of babylon gonna feed you gonna feed you things and gonna let you drink wine gonna feed you gonna go gonna get you gonna get you all fed so that you can stand in my presence but verse 98 says but daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat nor with the wine which he drank therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself now god had brought daniel into favor and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs the prince of the eunuch said unto daniel i fear my lord the king who hath appointed you your meat and your drink for why should he see your faces worse lacking than the children which are of your sword then shall you make me endanger my head to the king in other words he said to him what if if we don't feed you the right way you're not going to look like everybody else you're you're somehow going to look pale and puny if we don't feed you but you see we got one issue here what they wanted to feed daniel with was against the law of his god what they wanted him to drink and what they wanted to feed him with was against the law of his god so when daniel arrived at babylon daniel arrived d-o-a he arrived dead on arrival he was already dead when the ship captain said if you set foot on these fiji islands you're sure to be killed oh captain you don't understand this me and mary have died a long time ago can i help you with monday's babylon can i help all of us with tomorrow's babylon why don't you instead of waiting to see how you will react why don't you decide right now tonight that i'm going to go ahead and die to babylon i'm going to die to the music i'm going to die to the entertainment i'm going to die to all the things that are in babylon is it any any wonder is it any wonder he requested just give me 10 days just give me 10 days and the bible tells us that at the end verse 15 at the end of ten days their countenance appeared fairer and fatter in flesh and all of the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat can i tell you please give being dead to christ a little time don't just come down here tonight have you a little go to sleep prayer and go off tomorrow and just open up your mind to the world no would you please give him a little time would you please give him 10 days young people would you please give him your life and i promise you if you will die out to the things of this world the temptations of this world you'll live long enough to look at those that opened up their door to every temptation the world had and you'll see how sorry and broken and miserable they are but somehow you arrive dead on arrival well we just you know if daniel is a book of end time and daniel is a book that encloses great amount of prophecy then we see certain things being challenged in the end of time can i tell you a lot of our customs and a lot of our ways are being challenged in the end of time a lot of things the world would like to get in our mind and call it old outdated traditions old outdated archaic traditions they'll say oh that's just oh archaic outdated traditions that you've got no it's no it might be old but it's not archaic it's not something that's not useful you see our traditions that we must hold sacred tether us to our altars of consecration i've noticed the churches that are untying themselves from pentecostal traditions are becoming powerless and puny and like the world keep me in my traditions keep me tethered to my conditions traditions they remind me of consecration they remind me of dedication i don't want to walk out of here tonight and see how close to the world i can live and still go to heaven i want to walk out of here tonight and be dead on arrival hallelujah hallelujah glory to the lamb hallelujah to god if daniel will be a book of prophecy and that it is look at the next thing that's challenged in the book of daniel prayer is challenged any man pray to any god for 30 days except you o king will be cast into the den of hungry lions lions that had been starved lions that had been kept for days without anything to eat when they knew they had a prisoner to face the lion's den brother cincotta they would starve the lions to for weeks until when that door opened and they pitched the prisoner down many times the prisoner didn't even hit the floor of the dungeon before the lions had tore them apart daniel you can't pray daniel 3 and 14. daniel 3 excuse me go to daniel i got a little bit ahead of myself we're going to go back to the fire in a minute daniel 6 and 10. now when daniel knew that the writing was signed he went into his house his window being opened in his chamber toward jerusalem he kneeled upon his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before he is god as he did a four time you can't make new laws to resurrect a dead man when a man is dead you can't make new laws that are appealing to him he's a dead man he heard that he couldn't pray he was a dead man dead men don't listen to the world's decrees dead men don't hear what the world expects out of them dead men don't hear this and because daniel knew the writing had been signed he went right to jerusalem opened up his window to and began to pray just like he did a fourth time well they told on him he was arrested the king saw that it was a conspiracy and the bible said the king stayed up all night long trying to find a way to save daniel i guess he was the first originator of that country song i'm walking the floor over you he was trying to do everything that he could to save daniel finally they came in and said wait a minute king don't you don't you don't you think about giving daniel a pardon do you think about giving daniel a pardon you've done signed it with your ring of the medes and the persians and it cannot be reversed don't you think about doing that so sure enough they took o'daniel they had starved the lions for several weeks they opened up the great and they pitched o'daniel into the lions then all night long the bible said the old king couldn't sleep all night long the old king stayed up all night long and early in the morning when the sun came up so that he would honor the decree you know even the world can i tell you this much even the world can have faith in a church that's dead upon arrival i promise you this city looks at us in admiration i promise you there are other churches that can remember in years gone by when they used to look like and used to worship like we do tonight and they've untied themselves from the traditions and they've untied themselves from from from worshiping god they got too educated so they thought they got too high for lutein so they thought they got in their big building so they fought and they became dead and they formalized but somehow they watch online they meet us in the restaurants and they say we admire your services we admire what you're all doing even the world can appreciate a church that's got some convictions the old king had a little he had to have some faith why do you go down the next morning to the lions then and with a lambda voice the bible says he said oh daniel has your god delivered you number one why do you even expect to hear from him because even the world has confidence in a church that's got convictions that's why we can't let up that's why we can't let up ladies you hear me men come on now don't get quiet that's why we can't let up men that's why we got to stay the church we got to be dead to hollywood we got to be dead to wall street we got to be dead to the fashion industry we got to be dead we got you hear me tonight we gotta be dead ted oh oh danielle i'm not making this up it says with a lambda voice i'd say this is a lambda voice oh daniel as your god deliver you and boy an answer came from down in the dungeon but it wasn't a lambda voice it was a strong voice and it was like this all king live forever for the lord to send his angel and shut the lion's mouth up he said get him out of there he was dead on arrival some of us are looking for a miracle you can't have a miracle till you die some of us are looking for god you got to be dead to get your miracle damn damn he said get him out of here. then he took the men that put him in there he said now you're going down and the bible said before their bodies hit the floor the lions devoured them we want miracles don't we how many wants miracles do you know you have to be dead to get a miracle we want the miracle of the resurrection if you want the miracle of the resurrection you've got to have the death of calvary go back with me to chapter three this involved fire and furnace when you hear the sound of all the music if you don't bow down and worship you will that same hour be thrown in to the fiery furnace let's listen to the boys in chapter 3 verse 14. nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them is it true oh shadrach meshach and abednego do not ye serve my gods nor worship the golden image which i have set up now if you be ready that at what time you hear the sound of the cornet the flute the heart the sacrament sultry decimer and all kinds of music you fall down and worship the image which i have made well but if you worship not you shall be cast you shall be cast the same hour into the midst of the burning fiery furnace and who is that god that shall deliver you out of my hands let's see if they arrive dead on arrival shadrach meshach and abednego answered and said to the king o nebuchadnezzar we are not careful to answer you to answer thee in this matter now that doesn't read the way it sounds it doesn't mean they're not careful it doesn't mean they're reckless it means we have made a well-calculated decision we have weighed this out we are not careful to answer thee in this matter if it be so our god in whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace and he will deliver us out of thine hand o king but if not be it known unto thee o king that we will not serve thy gods nor worship the golden image which thou has set up what an answer you know how do you burn up boys that are already dead they're already dead they looked at the furnace and they said we're already dead said god may deliver us or god may not deliver us but nonetheless we are dead to your music we are dead to your images we are dead to your world and then that boy did nebuchadnezzar the bible said he got so mad that his villages his face was so distorted he was so mad hit the furnace some seven times hotter and it bound them up in their coats and their clothes and burn everything they have bind them up and even the men the furnace was so hot that even the men that were over leading shadrach and meshach and abednego up into the furnace the flames came out and devoured them and one by one one two three they fell bound into the furnace once again a little tradition needs to come in because we have a little space here of the king going down to the furnace why do you go to a furnace that should have incinerated and destroyed totally shadrach meshach and abednego why this is where tradition has to come in there is a tradition that said that a few hours later that the king began to hear a singing that was coming from the direction of the furnace and the king went down and he looked in and he turned back around and he said did we not cast in three and they said three o king he said if we cast him three how come i see four men walking around in the midst of the fire and the fourth is as the son of god can i tell you you get no miracle until you're willing to die would you please lift your hands and give god glory and honor come on die out tonight come on die out tonight we live in a very sexually sensual society we live in a day that both men and women i reckon will eventually go completely naked in our streets we live in a very sensual sexual driven society but one way we can overcome all the sexual sensual temptations is we gotta be dead when they come our way you may be seated me and i can't babysit you your wife can't babysit you you can't have enough on your cell phone your facebook yeah ipad you can't have enough accountability partners what you need to do is be dead you need to die you need to make a calculated decision in your mind that is sin and it'll lead to no good and regardless of how little they're dressed you can hold your head with integrity and walk through this life because you know what i was dead when i went to the office in the morning i was dead when i drove down the road and they're laying out in their yard sunbathing i was dead when i was at the mall and they walked by and they didn't have ample clothes on i was dead i was dead i was dead what's the difference between joseph and king david joseph had a woman that literally reached out and got a hold of him and said lay in the bed with me and he stripped out of his coat and ran away you know why he was dead david went looking for a woman founder bathsheba and laid in the bed with her come on this is deep hebrew and greek stuff here tonight you know why joseph denied and david went searching joseph's dead and david's looking can i tell you something that sin is deceiving sin will deceive you to give you a pleasure to convince you that you're missing out you need to die you need to die to temptation you you you don't you shouldn't have to fall to understand you ought to just look at temptation and say i'm gonna die to temptation i'm gonna die to it i heard the story from a pastor he had him had a man in his church and had a he had a home repair business it called him to go into homes and fix appliances one day he was called to a home as he's there trying to fix the washer of the dryer forget which it is he turned around to see the woman that opened the front door with a gown fully exposing herself she began to tell him that her husband was no good and she was a woman looking for love he meticulously got up put his wrenches back in the box folded up his workbox and he stood up and he faced her he said this morning for the last 30 years i got up two eggs three strips of bacon two biscuits with jelly i have a lunch box out in my van it's got a fried bologna sandwich and a thermos full of iced tea tonight i'll go home and said my wife will have a meal waiting for me and he looked at her and he said if you think that i'm going to throw that away with the looks of you you just get you another home repairman i'm out of here he later told brother erickson i knew the day was coming i knew there would come a day when somebody would proposition me i knew that they would come that day i practice it i went over it my mind you see tonight we have got to be dead to every temptation we've got to be dead to the things of this world we've got to go over in my mind if that boy is not of the faith i'm not going out with you i'm not going to date you if i'm listen i don't care if you give me twenty dollars more on the hour i'm not working on sunday i've got to be in i'm talking about being dead he didn't call so much brother mayo they didn't call so much when we was in the little church on mcginley street but when we started getting a little notoriety here in the in the community singing groups started letting us know we would be willing to come and do you a concert well i guess you would but you see i made it i made a conviction i made a standard years ago that i'll only have jesus name one god apostolic people stand up here and sing do you realize how much we could pack your church out if we could have no you don't realize i'm not after a packed out church i'm after a worship in church i made a conviction a long time ago that only jesus name one god apostolic people are going to play on this platform and they're going to sing are you so sure of that i am i'm dead on arrival i'm dead on arrival i've already settled it i've already i wish somebody helped me praise god i wish some young person that was just as dead it could be would begin to worship god i wish some middle-aged some elder would begin to worship god i'm dead to all this i'm dead to miss a church i'm dead just saying i've served enough i'm dead dead in david's defense he fell god miserably he repented to god greatly in david's defense he failed god miserably he's an old man now he's an old man he doesn't walk with a straight step of a zach hammond the surefittedness his legs are a little bent he'll watch him when he comes to the steps he tries to be dignified but he's thinking everything oh god help me not miss one step god help me not miss one step his back's a little arched he's not the david he used to be but words started coming through the castle brother larry war war the philistines war a new giant war war the young bucks like brother erickson and brother hammond young sure-footed bucks got up and they were strapping on their armor and they were getting ready and here were david he lost a lot of weight he could pull that baby up to almost go around him where you going david i'm going to fight you an old man uh you don't understand young buck the last time there was war and i stayed home i got in a heap of trouble and i'd rather die on a battlefield than to die in this place one more time i'll fight to the day that i die come on it's not a sin to commit sin but it's a sin to stay in your sin come on david be dead on arrival people may talk they may backstab you they may bring it back up but become dead on arrival i'm going to serve god i'm going to live for god dead on arrival jesus son of man start your ministry okay i'll start my ministry mark chapter 1 verse 9. it came to pass in those days mark 1 9 that jesus came from nazareth of galilee and was baptized of john and jordan straightway coming up out of the water he saw the heavens opened and the spirit like a dove descending upon him and there came a voice from heaven saying thou art my beloved son in whom i am well pleased can i tell you i thank god for every man and woman that i see baptized in jesus name i thank god for that precious denominal family that visited on vacation that were visiting on vacation this morning been watching this online came and sat here in this middle section the end of the service and what a message for them to hear that tells you right there that preaching doctrine doesn't run off we was up here around the altar sister penton came and said this woman back here wants you to come and pray for her son to receive the holy ghost me and sister carpenter walk back and begin before i begin to pray for the son i began to pray for the husband and as i began to pray for him bam he received the gift of the holy ghost fluently talking in other tongues we stood there for a little while and began to fellowship she began to tell us how hungry they are for god been watching this online considering moving here putting their children in our school and all of a sudden the husband says to her he looks at her and he says i need to tell you right now i received the baptism of the holy ghost and spoke in other tongues and her eyes got biggest saucers she said oh oh i can't handle this right now can i tell you something today people want to hear the truth people want to hear the gospel there's an anointing to it the son started talking to his father he said daddy it was like fire was all over me he was like he was going all over me i'm telling you we gotta be dead on arrival dad let's go ahead and stand with me right now any folks won't die tonight you ain't gonna get the good job if you don't wear that skirt above them knees and lower that blouse line you ain't gonna get that good job can i tell you something just wait and see promotion doesn't come from ibm promotion coming from the lord it's a doggy dog world in business you better put it to them when you can you'll never get anywhere be honest charge the same whether it's widow brown or executive jones charge the same be honest in your dealings i can't make it that way yes you will you'll more than make it that way the blessings of god will be on your life i feel the presence of god right now can't you see that little erickson can't you see that little teenage couple james and mary calvert and that old seaman saying please don't get off this ship please don't get off this ship they'll kill you on that island can't you see james turning around and saying mary and i are already dead we're already dead we want to go do a work for god be honest die out to your sins i mentioned a minute ago the baptism of jesus but the bible brother kenny says immediately afterwards the spirit drove him into the wilderness and he was tempted in all the ways the lust of the flesh the lust of the eye and the pride of life for 40 days you know it's it's pathetic it's pitiful but we ought to spend about 40 days and get over every hang-up we got so that we can go in the power of the spirit and do the work that god has called us to do it is not the will of god when you're 20 to be wrestling with the subways it's not the will of god when you're 40 to be wrestling with the same junk that you wrestled with when you were 20. somebody's got to die god wants to use you you've got a calling on your life it's going to be a miracle but you'll never see the miracle until you die paul what you doing i have run a good race i have fought a good fight henceforth there's laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the lord the righteous judge will give me for the time of my departure is at hand that departure was he could possibly hear them sharpening the sword it was going to cut his head off how do you talk about a crown when you hear the file sharpening the sword i'll tell you how he's already dead historians say about the early church that they literally walked to their death historians it's not the bible historians write this these early followers of jesus walk to their death like they're going to a feast singing oh yes they did because you can't kill what's already dead you can't kill what's already dead would you bow your heads with me tonight all over this room i want to take just a moment if you're here tonight and you don't know the lord jesus you've never been filled with the power of the holy ghost you've never been baptized in his wonderful name and you have come tonight to receive the holy ghost every head is bowed every eye is closed and the church is praying right now would you would you slip out of your pew and come to the altar right now we want to give you the first place in the altar oh we want to give you the first place in the altar for you to come in the name of jesus christ tonight would you come in the name of jesus would you come tonight would you come come on church would you pray oh we're already dead i've already died i've already died i'm not going to get mad because somebody got my parking spot i've already died i'm not going to get upset because somebody said in my pew i've already died i'm not going to get so offended because that boy broke up with my daughter or vice versa i've already died i've already died i've already died i want to call this church tonight i want to call this church tonight for a few moments of consecration i'm going to ask
