First Kings chapter 18 verse number 41. and Elijah said unto Ahab get me up eat and drink for there is a sound of abundance of rain so Ahab went up to eat and to drink and Elijah went up to the top of Carmel cast himself down upon the Earth and put his face between his knees and said to his servant this is where I want to preach from tonight he said to his servant go up now look toward the sea and he went up and looked and said there is nothing and he said go again seven times came to pass at the seventh time that he said behold there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea like a man's hand and he said go up say to Ahab prepare thy Chariot get thee down that the rain stopped thee not going to preach on two words tonight preach on two words tonight it's in my spirit I want you to know what's in my spirit I won't preach on two words tonight don't quit precious lamb of God tonight I've been redeemed by your blood filled with your spirit baptized in your name call to preach your word father for the next few moments would you anoint your servant that I may feed these wonderful sheep that have gathered here tonight that I may feed God these people that gather here so Faithfully to worship and to praise your holy name God I'll give you all the praise and all the glory because none of it comes to a man God what you're going to do the next few moments is not the product of a man but it's the product of your spirit upon your word God I'll give you praise in Jesus name we pray amen amen I'm going to ask you give the Lord one more hand clap of Praise right now no you may be seated Winston Churchill who had The Bravery if you'll study history please bring my monitors down just a little more please Winston Churchill who had The Bravery of staring down Adolf Hitler he stared Adolf Hitler down he withstood him this Winston Churchill who served as a British Statesman Soldier writer served as prime minister twice during the second World War there's a lot of speeches that he's famous for he would get on the radio at night we'd get on the radio at night as London was being bombed by German Fighters he would get on the radio at night and he would encourage the people of the UK he would let them know how that they were to hold on and that they were never to give up one of his famous speeches and he is famous for many speeches but he was called upon at a commencement at a commencement exercise and he gave a speech and I have part of it here he says but for everyone surely what we have gone through in this period talking about the war I am addressing myself to the school surely from this period of 10 months this is the lesson never give in never give in never never never give in never give in in nothing great or small larger Petty never give in never give in except to your convictions and honor in Good Sense and he talked about they would fight to the very end he epitomizes my message tonight Winston Churchill epitomize is my message because what he was simply saying to the citizens of UK was in light of the bombing and it looks like it looks like and we are we are outmanned and outpowered he simply ministered to them and told them never quit never quit it was a Prophet Elijah prophesied during a time of the reading of the scripture tonight and God got the attention of Israel by causing there to be no rain for three and a half years at the end of three and a half years Elijah and the cause of sin Ahab had a face to face it was no doubt the Winston Churchill facing down the Adolf Hitler it was just one man Elijah it was 800. 50 false prophets it was just one man Elijah but it was a man Ahab who ruled a great Kingdom Elijah challenged Ahab to stop halting between two opinions that it was not time to Halt between Baal being God and god Jehovah being God Elohim of whom they sang about so beautifully tonight he said if Baal be God serve him but if the Lord Elohim be God serve him and let the god that answers by fire let him be that God and they answered and accepted the challenge the prophets of Baal spent all day long crying out cutting themselves going to the to going even as far as cutting themselves with razor blades to bring blood to the surface thinking that that would get the attention of Baal as they stood and jumped and cut themselves throughout the day from morning this evening from the rising of the sun until almost the going down of the same at the end of that day Elijah stepped out and according to the King James version of the Bible Elijah prayed a 58-word prayer and as he spoke that 58th word as he spoke that word the heavens cracked open and fire from God came down from a heaven and consumed the sacrifice they all with one Accord begin to cry out the Lord is God the Lord is God Elijah had the prophets of Baal he had he would have all of them slain then he would go to the top of Mount Carmel that overlooked the sea the top of Mount Carmel that overlooked the sea was the direction that rain would come in it was the direction of the storms and the winds the wind current it was there that he took with him a servant Elijah the Bible tells us God in a prayerful position he landed on his knees with his face between his knees and he sent his servant to go on further up the top of the mountain now I want you to know that this was not a trail like you see in the Great Smoky Mountain Park it wasn't a prepared trail that went up to the peak of this mountain it was Rocky it was rough it was rough terrain it did it took a few moments to go a few feet so when he asked this young man to go on up to the top it was no easy task he was asking him to do he asked him to go and look out over the sea which sometime came back and the young man came back with a less than encouraging message he simply said there is nothing what do you do what do you do when you've waited for the answer the answer comes back there is nothing Elijah Elijah then tells him something that I believe has a spirit spiritual significance tonight he says I want you not only to go again but I want you to go seven times one translation of the Bible and I am prone to believe it that Elijah is really not asking sister Carpenter he is really not asking the young man to go seven times like one two three four five six seven but he is simply saying you keep going until you get a sign that rain is coming wasn't necessarily seven times it was that don't you quit you keep going until you finally see something on Horizon because I have heard the sound of the abundance of rain and it's not if rain is coming it's simply when the rain comes it is when the rain comes so what he was saying we necessarily seven times but he is saying I want you to keep making that track up that mountain I want you to keep scaling those rocks I want you to keep sweating I want you to keep putting forth your energy I want you to keep doing this until I listened to some Aborigines so-called rain dancers these men and women that are actually hired to come to places on the Earth where there is no rain and they knew a rain dance and they've been very successful in a rain dance if they do but I simply loved when I heard one interviewed and they said what is your secret you seem to be called on to go to drought-stricken areas and and it seems like that rain eventually comes and the man said the secret is we just dance till it rains we just dance till it rains I want to tell somebody in this room tonight that I don't want you to get your mind off of how hard the track is once you get your mind tonight off of a number seven and I want you to Simply get a DNA a spiritual DNA in this this place that I will not quit I will not turn back see in our DNA at Pentecost did you miss this word in our DNA of Pentecost Jesus gave an until he said Terry in Jerusalem how long until how many days until how many weeks until and I believe inside of it may see DNA tonight there is a spiritual DNA that simply says I'll keep looking for my Miracle I'll keep looking for my answered prayer I'll keep looking for my prodigal son and daughter I'll keep looking for my Deliverance I may not be fully delivered yet but I'll keep on coming until I get my full Deliverance I may not be what I should be right now what are you going to do I'm just going to keep on coming until I see that cloud the size of a man's hand somebody give him some praise tonight never give up never give in he would be in the second book of Kings chapter 5 verse 10. that a Mighty Man by the name of Naaman a mighty Syrian Captain a man of renown a man that was well known a man that had that had given great Victory to Syria a man that had given great Victory to Syria oh if he had an office it would be it would be loaded with with pictures of of Victories and it would be loaded with him shaking hands with Emperors it would be loaded because he was mighty neyman but the Bible introduces us to one major problem but he was a leper he was a leper he's not going to be known that he died he's not when he dies we're not going to remember that he thought this battle and that battle and brought down this Kingdom in that Kingdom it'll all be diminished and he'll be remembered that Naaman could conquer cities but he couldn't conquer leprosy the good news came on his Horizon on one of his on one of his battles he fought he took a little girl captain probably for the purpose of serving his wife he took a little Hebrew maid captive a little girl captain he brought her home to his house and she became the helper she became the girl that washed the dishes that draw that would go get the buckets of water whatever whatever his wife would need this little girl was was a slave she would get it no doubt no doubt this little girl missed home no doubt this little girl no doubt this little girl was Tara stricken no doubt this little girl cried herself to sleep at night but her mom and daddy put something deep down in her Roots her mom and daddy put down in her that our God that Elohim I can't get that song off my mind tonight they just could have they just could keep singing that song they could just keep singing that song Replay replay replay they put deep down in that little girl's heart that Yahweh Jehovah was powerful God and one day as they were discussing naaman's wife was discussing the terrible situation that he was in the little girl spoke up Tyler and the little girl said I wish that my master was in the land that I came from because in the land that I come from there's a prophet there and there's a God that our that Prophet is connected to and he could recover him of this leprosy well from the naaman's wife to Naaman to the king of Syria the king of Syria wrote the king of Israel a letter and said I am sending my captain to you to be recovered of his leprosy and the king of Israel saw it as a fight he saw it he even said look at how they want to find reason to attack us we're not God we can't heal somehow the prop that somehow Naaman was directed to the prophet Elisha's house it was there that the prophet Elisha gave the instructions that would lead to his healing in second Kings chapter 5 and verse number 10 it simply says this and Elisha sent a messenger unto Naaman saying go wash in Jordan seven times until thy flesh come again to thee and thou shalt be clean now once again once again I'm not taking issue with the Bible tonight oh no no no I believe that it could possibly be it could possibly be the number seven one two three four five six seven I believe that but I believe there is a spiritual sign behind it that God is saying to us today because the Old Testament is not written just for history sake it's written for you and I to glean from its spiritual truths I believe that God is trying to tell us tonight that if we want our Miracle we have got to get the tenacity that quitting is not in our vocabulary I don't have defeat in my vocabulary I don't have quitting in my vocabulary I don't have turning around I don't have being quiet I don't have backing up in my vocabulary what do you have I just have keep on going until the miracle comes somebody shout don't quit don't quit boil Naman just about missed it because Naaman let a terrible thing get a hold of him do you all know pride is a terrible thing Pride you need to be delivered from Pride oh Pride will rob you of the blessings of God Pride will rob you it will rob you of putting your life in the hands of God Pride will rob you of that and name it almost allowed Pride because when the servant came out and told him to go wash seven times in Jordan Jordan was a muddy creek it was a muddy river that name and crossed over on his way from Damascus when they came out and told him when they came out and told him the man of God said for you to go wash seven times in Jordan River Naaman got into a rage he said well I thought this is what he said I thought that he would at least come out here because after I after all I'm naming I I thought he would at least I got news for you when it comes to God names are not important you see when it comes to God it doesn't matter who I am and it doesn't matter who you are the only thing important in this house tonight is who he is and if we can just do what he says we're going to see miracles signs and wonders but we got to get Pride out of the way oh do you know when you complain about nobody shook my hand you're really saying you're somebody worthy to get your hands shut when you say well they didn't really recognize me you're just really saying I'm worth being recognized but in this house tonight I am not concerned with shaking your hands I hope you feel friendly and I hope you know that I love you but I'm not going to spend my life babysitting and pacifying people I'm gonna get in this building and I said God I love you God I praise you God you're the Healer God God if if God you're the one you're the one you're the one oh oh let me stick to my let me stick over here to my preacher tonight oh Naaman he said I thought he at least come out here and shake my hand after all I'm naming after all I thought he at least command and strike the place where the lepers he's at these sins of servant boy out and the servant boy tells me to go washing the river of Jordan he went away and the Bible says and it rained she went away somebody began to talk some sense into that hot head somebody got up there beside him in that beside him on that bench riding those horses and somebody said hey Naaman you know as I do if the prophet would ask you to do some great thing you'd have done it if he'd asked you to go if he'd asked you go fight a battle you'd have went and fought a battle he'd ask you to go climb a mountain you'd climb a mountain if he'd asked you to take your bow and arrow out bow and arrows out and shoot shoot and hit a bull's eye from 50 yards or something you'd have done it yeah you're right he said well why don't you just do this why don't you just do this no name and pulled his Chariot over to the side swallowed a bunch of pride took his clothes off and got down in the middle of the Jordan River I ain't seen taking his first bath he washed and come up and he was just as lepers the only difference was he was a wet leper now that's the only difference it was second time third time fourth time fifth time sixth time I kind of see him looking around good old friend when you get that don't quit mentality when you get that dance until the rain comes mentality when you get that keep on going until the answer comes mentality or can I break it down the way we'll understand it keep on coming to church until God moves keep on going to the prayer room till you get your answer keep on worshiping God to the circumstances change you're just gonna keep on going because after all come on now tonight you're not going to quit don't quit you know life will throw us many challenges life will throw us many challenges that we need to quit life will throw us many challenges that you know you're facing something and just why don't you why don't you quit you've prayed about this for years it's not happened why don't you quit you know the Prophet Daniel went through something the Bible says about Daniel that he prayed not once a day not twice a day but Daniel Prayed three times a day he prayed three times a day well what a prayer life got his life started morning prayer he had a half time at noon he had some more prayer and then when the sun went down brother Ben he had some more prayer three times a day he was praying three times a day three times a day every day he was praying well there's some people got real jealous of him because a praying man or woman will without fail be a prosperous man or woman you want to prosper pray you want to be prosperous pray Daniel Prayed and he was prosperous oh the king kept elevating him the king kept giving him higher positions and higher positions until he was higher than anybody else and I want got news for you got news for you when God begins to bless you everybody's not excited about it somebody once said one thing about spiritual success is to find people that are happy for you it'll always be people that are jealous of you anytime you start prospering you've gotta you gotta Prosper to the degree that you can handle the jealousy that people are going to say about you and they got jealous of him and they are in a in a group and they said we got to find some dirt on Daniel we gotta find something that the king will bring him down from his power we got to find something we got to find something on Daniel and so they they they've started studying they could not find any occasion there was no false false there was no flaws in him he was an honest man he was an upright man and they come back together and they said remember they said they said we ain't gonna find any fault in this man said the only way we're going to find fault in him is to find a fault with his God and that's where they did they knew that he prayed three times a day they knew that he was a man every morning he prayed every noon he prayed in an evening he prayed so they went to the king and they begin to talk to the king now the king is absolutely oblivious of what's Happening they come to the king and they begin to say King he is such an awesome King you're such a powerful King you make such good decisions oh you have you have just been awesome for this Kingdom as a matter of fact King we we almost think that you're you're you're almost a God you're you're you're you're you're almost more than human you're almost to God and because of that Old King uh we want to make a new law here and in this new law because of you now because of you now this new law would say that no one in this Kingdom should pray to any other God and ask any other thing of any other God that you for 30 days he said that sounds good I said oh by the way by the way by the way the punishment would be the punishment would be for breaking this law of prayer praying to any other God other than you for 30 days the punishment of this law would be you'll be fed to the hungry lions in the lion then he said go ahead you see the king is oblivious to the motives of the laws that are being made and I could pause just for a moment and say that even our nation today that I am a citizen of is oblivious to the lot of the laws that are being made that ever so slowly are robbing you and I of our freedom our country to the north our country our bordering neighboring country to the north Canada when we go to Canada to minister the word the Canadian pastors kind of tutor us from the states that there's things we're free to say here in America that we cannot say in Canada because their church will receive a ticket of hate crime and they would be on the radar of that church laws are being made that are ever taking away our religious Liberties I like what Jerry Falwell said years ago about religious freedom he said we need to keep it to where if the Pentecostals want to jump over their pews they can and if us Baptists want to sleep on our pews we can but we need to keep our religious freedoms sounds good to me feed them to the Lions and all of a sudden they posted in front of Daniel's house you got to quit praying for 30 days you can't pray to any other God other than King and the Bible said everybody say in the Bible said Daniel chapter 6 verse number 10. everybody saying the Bible says Daniel 6 verse number 10 now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed he went into his house and his windows being opened in his chamber toward Jerusalem he kneeled upon his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God as he did a fourth time before the law he was praying and after the law he was praying hear me tonight Church before your trial I hope you were praying after your trial I hope you keep praying during your trial you need to pray the last thing you want to do is to pray until you get in a trial and to stop praying it's going to take prayer to see you through I want a pastor a church that has DNA that we don't quit we don't quit they came and they found Daniel praying and they hauled him into the king's chamber the king said I bro I have I have written this law and it cannot be reversed it is the law of the medes and the Persians when I put my signature on it it has to be followed out and Daniel gave a word of encouragement to the king that he served to God that wouldn't fail they took Daniel and they threw him into the lion's den but not just any ordinary lines then brother Brad brother-in-law not just any ordinary Lion's Den but lions that had been starved lions that for weeks had been kept from any food as a matter of fact as you study out you find they had to keep these Lions pinned up by themselves because if the lions were all together they would eat one another and they only brought these Lions out when a human would be placed there and uh they that there Daniel was taken and many times their bones didn't even hit the floor of the of the den until the the the the the the the Lions had devoured the person but I want you to look up here tonight when you are a woman of God a prayer and you are a man of God that won't quit and when God sees your tenacity that you won't quit regardless of how of how setback that you think regardless you group of how unfair you believe life has been to you can I tell you life can hand you a lot of things and I'll be the first to tell you you group that's unfair but if you can place your life in the hands of An Almighty God he is able to turn the tables he is able your biggest break in life is not a high-paying job but your biggest break in life is to make God the Lord of your life and you get the mentality that I'm never going to quit before you know the words they call it a they call it a lion's den because the Lions have dominion over the den but I submit to you tonight that when they drop Daniel down in that Lion's Den that that Lion's Den was no longer like the Lion's Den it became the Daniel Den it was the lions in Daniel's den and all of a sudden Angelic beings came down came down into the lion's den and shut the jaws of the lion and all night long Daniel set in the Lion's Den patting the manes on the Lions and the Lions can't Leo the Lion can't figure out why I can't get my mouth open to eat this man that's here and all night long now the law just simply said he had to be thrown in and stay the night and the Bible says that all night long the king couldn't sleep all night long that Old King walked the floor he had been a good country singer he could have sung the song I'm walking the floor over you and all night long he was walking the floor back and forth and at the crack of dawn the king went down to the dead to the den and with the lambd of a voice the Bible said a Lambda voice the king said oh Daniel oh Daniel is your God was your God able to save you and the Bible says with a loud thunderous voice Daniel said oh King live forever my God that is Angel and has delivered me I'm telling you tonight don't quit I'm telling you brother Brady don't quit I'm telling you Saints and God don't quit I'm telling you I've been gonna quit I'm telling you stay in this race don't you quit oh one of these days one of these days the world is gonna say did you make it through did you make it through and we're gonna say Yes Yes we made it through oh hallelujah hallelujah Yes we made it through how is somebody giving praise right now I'm gonna make it I'm gonna make it all the way home I'm gonna make it all the way home if God before me who can be against me I'm gonna make it all the way home got him out of the Daniel Daniel's Den and then it turned back into the lines then the king fed those men that made the law to those lions oh yes he did let me bring this to a close tonight let me bring it to close don't quit just don't quit can I tell you I have talked to more than one person in their 40s and 50s and 60s that got out of church when they were a teenager and you know what they're haunted with I wonder what I could have I'd stayed in church I wonder what I could have if I'd stayed faithful to God I wonder what I can have all the devil he dangles little old things out but I got news for you once you grab it you have settled for far less than what God wants to give you you settle for far less than white God hey I just hope you leave here tonight and if you don't remember one thing I said I just hope you say over and over again I'm not gonna quit I'm not gonna quit I'm gonna bring a closed to the sermon I believe that even Jesus Christ we went to the Garden that night in Matthew the Bible said he began to pray he had one prayer on his mind father if it be possible let this cup pass for me let tomorrow's crucifixion pass for me but nevertheless not as I will as you will now you would think that once would be enough the Bible says he went to the disciples the second time stirred them up for prayer say watch with me and pray with me and the Bible's specifically says he went back the second time and he prayed the same prayer people that want to get discouraged or pray in the same prayer don't stop praying the same prayer pray until you get your answer if you got to pray why he I just don't think I've got any faith if I keep on praying the same prayer you got faith you just keep on praying it is a lack of faith that causes us not to pray it is faith in the god that we pray to that causes us to pray the second time father if it be possible let this cup pass for me but nevertheless not as I will but thou will be done he goes to the disciples and wakes them back up and says would you please pray with me he goes the Bible says he went and prayed again the third time the third time I believe this is telling us something tonight much like the seven time this simply says go until go until you get your answer I believe that he was modeling to us tonight that we should never quit praying we should never quit asking we should never quit trying even the great Apostle Paul writer of over half the New Testament had an issue in second quranic the second Corinthians chapter 12 verse number 7. this man had knowledge this man had spiritual experiences but in second Corinthians 12 and 7 Paul writes and says unless I should be exalted above measure through the through the abundance of the revelations there was given to me a thorn in the flesh the messenger of Satan to Buffet me lest I should be exalted above measure look at what God did he balanced it out he had great Revelation he had great revelation but God knew that he could have the he could have the tendency to be so Heavenly minded he was no earthly good some people get so Heavenly minded they forget we live in a suffering world they they want perf they want perfection somebody said the other day and I believe it they said if you will preach to suffering people you will never want for a congregation because we live in a suffering world and so God gave the writer of half the New Testament he gave him Revelation but he balanced him out he gave him a thorn in the flesh the messenger a messenger has a voice the messenger of Satan to Buffet him what did you do about that Paul verse 8 for this thing I besought the Lord Thrice I went to God not once not twice but three times that it might depart from me on the third time he got his answer and God said unto me my grace is sufficient for you my strength is sufficient for you Church don't short Change yourself looking for other help our God is more not enough he's more than enough to help he's got more than enough power to see you through don't you lose faith in God don't you stop don't you quit don't you give up our God is more than enough he can't Supply our every need my my grace is sufficient for me for my strength is made perfect in weakness most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my infirmities the power of Christ May rest upon me therefore I take pleasures and infirmities in reproaches and Necessities in persecution in distresses for Christ's sake for when I am weak then I am don't quit Church don't quit if you quit you will be haunted for the rest of your life what could I had become if I hadn't quit mama keep on praying in your home you don't want them to get raised and then live in The Haunting empty house of would my kids be different had I prayed oh don't quit don't quit would you stand with me tonight don't quit say it with me don't quit it was our president Theodore Roosevelt who delivered a speech in Paris on April the 23rd 19 and 10. it was a world that was torn apart it was a world with only a few peacemakers the dictators of the world were staging for war the world had very few peacemakers in that speech there in Paris on the 23rd of April 1910. I want you to listen to Theodore Roosevelt he said it is not the critic who counts not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of Deeds could have done them better the credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood who strives valiantly who airs who comes up short again and again because there is no effort without error and no shortcoming but who does actually strive to do the Deeds who knows the Great enthusiasms the great devotions who spends himself in a worthy cause who at the best knows in the end the Triumph of high achievement and who at the worst if he fails at the least fails while daring greatly for that his place shall never be with those cold timid Souls who neither know victory nor defeat he said and basically it's easy to be a Critic it's easy to stand and point out where the doer of Deeds could have done better it's so easy to be a Monday morning commentator about the ball game but the true man and the true woman is the sweaty brow the dusty face who staggers in from a prayer room or an altar and says I went and I prayed one more time I went down and I prayed one more time can I tell you tonight thank you brother Orr thank you sir thank you sir he just recently buried his wife about less than a half a mile a year I've drove by there several days and sober the worst car out there life has been difficult for brother Orr but without even asking for an altar call tonight he comes down the all it comes down the aisle because he somehow knows where his strength is at can I tell you tonight as brother Orr continues to pray can I tell you something real quickly what the devil wants to weary you in is in your well-doing he wants to weary you that well we came to the altar this morning well I prayed this morning I came to the altar last week if he can get you weary and well doing you'll never reap in your new season you'll never you'll you'll never reap you'll never reap in your new season if he can somehow convince you tonight that you coming to this altar is not going to change anything about your life he has already got you Lock Stock and Barrel but if somehow your pastor tonight could preach to your soul it is a good thing to come up around the altar it is a good thing to begin to praise God it is a good thing never to quit praying it is a good thing never to stop coming to church if I could ever convince you of that victory is yours answered prayer is yours Miracles are yours children coming home are yours if I can convince you of that come on let's flood these altars tonight and once again once again push up as close as you can around the altar push up as close as you can around the altar tonight don't quit Church don't quit Church don't give up church that's my prayer don't give up don't give up Church don't give up please come on come on lift up your voice come on lift up your voice I know it's a little tiring I know it's a little tiring yeah I know sometimes you're just tired but I hope it's not because of Pride but you ought to lift your voice up loud enough that you can hear yourself that's a good thing oh that's a good thing that's a good thing that's a good thing oh Hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah come on Church don't quit come on everybody pray tonight don't quit come on don't quit right now powerful oh God is powerful oh God is powerful you glory for all you brought me through and now I'm ready for whatever you want to do follow after you and now I'm ready for whatever you want to do is an Open Door we want you know I never before in every season the Grace has been enough believe it the best is Love You Lord like ever before thank you is yeah I know I don't know make things stronger ground then he plants his seed she's a dirty and dusty the Sun is hot blistering the back of his neck he puts a seed in the ground and then he's got to go out there and fight the weeds you got to keep the wheels but the whole time The Gardener's out there in the hot sun spraying to keep insects off all of that he don't have his mind on the Sun don't have his mind on the dirty shoes blistered back at his neck he knows that one day I'm going to eat me some red tomatoes out of this Garden Emily eat me some white and yellow corn get me a stick of butter and just lay that corn right in the middle of it just roll it like that right that brother knows what I'm talking about he knows they're going to be a bushel of green beans and you're going to put a half pound of fat back in there he knows that's why he endures the dust and the Heat and all that what are you saying that for well I remember when I was young growing up in church this newfound doctrine that I found myself in this church it didn't believe in Dayton out of the faith say do what we don't date out of faith as Spirit of obedience on the outside but I had a lot of questions on the inside if I could win them to the Lord you know you know and my pastor had a he had to come back on that he said they got more of a chance of winning you know when you just look the other way and don't get in too many conversations with the little girl at Wendy's or whatever McDonald's you know what I was really working on I was really working on me assistant Carter that's what I was really working on you see if you can get in your mind not the actual work of it but the reward of it several years ago up on the hill I was given the job one day in the old Auditorium we were building cinder block walls brother Goodman and Mark out nine there was nine of them on one side not on the others 18. they were nine by 18 inches long A Cent they put a chalk mark on these cinder blocks and he bought me a 40 pound electric hammer and he said you gotta knock a hole all the way through this stay and stay in the lines and knock a hole in here we're up on a ladder and you got a 30 pound hammering your hand vibrating you all over the place and I really didn't know why Tyler why I was doing what I was doing and because I didn't know why I was doing what I was doing it overcame my sore shoulders my sore elbows and by lunchtime I hadn't got one or two of them knocked out so brother Goodman came back up and he explained to me this is going to be where the air conditioning duck comes through there'll be a vent right here there'll be cold air come and when he explained it to me he was like I knocked that project out before dinner time I mean I just because you know what I was doing I was thinking about all the cold air that was going to come through them holes do you know the devil would like to get you weary and well doing because if he ever gets you weary and just doing well you'll never reap you'll never have those red tomatoes you'll never have those green beans you'll never have that corn you'll never have you'll never have all that in your life if he ever gets you weary somebody say don't quit
