amen amen amen God is a God is a thank you praise team today thank you pastor Erickson what a mighty God what a mighty God that we serve what a mighty God that we serve I certainly have enjoyed the new way of worship that we have here since Kovach 19 being able to Skype with different families from the church that's wonderful the volunteen family there they're such a wonderful as pastor said such a wonderful blessing to first Apostolic Church two weeks ago I stood in this pulpit and I preached a message and the title of it was when the fear comes and since that time I have felt little the Lord to preach messages God's got this I held a sign up yesterday out the road it simply just said God's got this God God has got this and just the times we come into the pulpit I've just been I have been speaking words of hope speaking words of faith preaching hope and faith and as I begin to prepare for this Sunday morning it was as if the Holy Ghost begin to direct my mind in a little different way and we're going to have a good old-fashioned Bible study this morning just a good old-fashioned Bible study today so I want you to get your Bible out get pen and paper out and begin to take take note Jesus mentioned about the Holy Ghost in John 14 and he called the Holy Ghost the comforter the comforter and in the very next verse he spoke about peace he spoke about peace speaks about the Holy Ghost in John 14:27 and then in John or John 14:26 the comforter the Holy Ghost and then in John 14:27 he talked about peace that I will leave with you and he even said my peace I leave with you not not as the world giveth my peace but it's not like the peace that the world is giving we'll invite your attention to the Gospel of John chapter number three and verse number three and before I read my text I want to make the announcement that our on line revival that we've had this past week starting Monday night with Bishop JH oz burnin it ended last night with brother Nolan carpenter was a service and you just don't want to you don't want to to miss this an old fashioned Bible study today John chapter 3 verse number three jesus answered and said unto Him verily verily I say unto you unto thee except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God I want to use these words as my title for this Bible study today except a man be born again father I love you today I thank you Lord for the privilege and the opportunity to come to your house or to come to your house online I thank you Lord for what you're doing in this hour God and I want to be a part of the harvest of what you're doing father I ask you today that you would have touched my mind touch my lips of clay that I may speak your word and I'll give you the praise and give you the honor in Jesus wonderful name I pray amen and amen you may be seated Jesus was talking to Nicodemus and Nicodemus was a ruler there he was a man of the religion of the sect of the Pharisees and he came to Jesus in John chapter 3 verse number 1 and he came with a compliment he came with the Pharisees endorsement by saying we know that you are a teacher come from God it's a verse - we know that you are a teacher come from God for no man can do the miracles that thou doest except God be with him now when Nicodemus was giving Jesus the Pharisees endorsement in their opinion of him I don't believe that Nicodemus was ready for what he was going to hear for Jesus responded to their opinion by saying verily verily now anytime you see the word verily it is used to tell someone that I'm about to say something and I want you to listen but anytime you see it doubled verily verily it is it is that person is saying now I want you to listen and I want you to listen very closely Jesus said unto him except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God in other words Nicodemus you think you see me Nicodemus you you you you believe that you see me but you you don't see truly Who I am because you must be born you must be born again you of course jesus said that unless he would have this rebirth that he could not understand couldn't see couldn't comprehend the kingdom of God so in other words he said what you think is right is not it's incomplete because Nicodemus you need to be born and notice the words born again well this no doubt got Nicodemus is curiosity and so in verse number four and Nicodemus saith unto Him how can a man be born when he is old can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born I we really don't know if Nicodemus is offended or if he is truly inquisitive of what Jesus has said youyou have master you have asked for there to be that I need to be have a rebirth and he said are you you say the absurdity of entering my mother's womb and being born again jesus answered in verse 5 barely barely noticed the two-barrel ease again there I say unto thee except a man be born of water and of the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God that was just born to the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit Marvel not Marvel not don't be amazed don't don't don't don't be amazed at this don't be a amazed to the to the point of dismissing it from your thoughts Marvel not that I said unto thee ye must be born again ye must be there must be a new birth brothers and sisters today our essential need in life is God's Spirit our essential need contrary to what our shelves may look like at our grocery stores our essential need in this hour is to have God's Spirit to have God's Spirit it's the only way it's the only way I believe that we are able to cope with life is because we have God's Spirit abiding inside of our hearts and he not only said in John 14:26 that the Holy Ghost was going to come but he also said when the Holy Ghost comes that the Holy Ghost would be the comforter that the Holy Ghost would be the peace so I stand here today before you a man that has been born again I stand here to say to you in the midst of all that's going on I can't explain it the Bible says it's joy unspeakable and full of great glory I can't explain it today but in the midst of koban nineteen I have an indescribable peace that has kept me tethered to my faith in God well let's go to Genesis chapter 1 verse 26 it's when God made man we have often we know the verse of scripture and God said let us and make men that's in John excuse me that's in Genesis 1:26 but in Genesis chapter 2 and verse number 7 and Genesis 1:26 is the general verse of what God did let us make men but Genesis 2 and 7 is the detail Genesis 1:26 tells what he did but Genesis 2 and 7 tells how he did it and the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life he breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul just to form an outline of a human until God breathes his breath it was God's breath that a change immediately brother Nolan begin to take place when God breathed the breath of life into this dirt form of a man the change was immediate the lifeless form began to change from the inside vital organs were created heart lungs kidney liver underneath the helmet of clay a brain which astounds the most brilliant men of today and we which are but dust on the outside the dust became flesh what that must have looked like my poor description falls so short of painting the picture but atom blinks his eyes for the first time and looks up with natural eye sight and he beholds his creator he looks up with his natural eyesight and he sees the God spiritually that created him that must have been something he blinks a few times and his eyes cannot only see the natural world around him but his eyes can see the God who is spirit his eyes can see the God who is spirit and he wakes up to an immediate relationship with his creator it was then that God uh sure Adam to a special place and this is even noteworthy today this is even noteworthy today you see when Adam woke up from creation or shouldn't say awakening when Adam opened his eyes without sin without sin he could see his creator he said how could he see but Nicodemus you've got to be born again to see the kingdom of God why is Nicodemus blinded because of sin be you well assured it is that blinds us it is sin that hides from us our very God that created us Adam then takes or God then takes Adam to a guard and this is even something of note the Bible says in Genesis 2:16 and the Lord God commanded the man saying of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat and the garden is a place that we could ponder for a moment because the Bible says that God created light - God created vegetation God created stars but when it comes to the garden it does not say in God created the garden it said that God planted a garden God planted the garden God had a special place for this man called Adam he takes him to the garden he takes him to the special place he shows them him this beautiful specially planted garden of God and he says Adam this is yours this is yours Adam this is where I want you to live all the places on the earth you can live but this is where I want you to live I want you to live in this garden that I have planted for you he shows him everything that he can eat but then he gives a command would you notice with me today how God works God takes this sinless man and shows him everything that he's privileged - God takes the sinless man and shows him his freedom of living eternally and then he gives he gives a command he first talks about life and then he talks about the command sin wants us to look at the commandment first and then the life but when we get sin out of our way were able to look at the life and the commandment is easy to follow but it wasn't for Adam he commanded the man in chapter 2 verse 16 told him you may freely eat but of the tree of the knowledge and notice this there's one tree in the garden there's one tree in the garden it is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die what is this death we think of death is ceasing to be but this death here that God speaks to Adam about is a death that is a separation from God and man it is not a ceasing to be because after death you're still going to exist I've often said it this way if you're born once you'll die twice you'll die a physical death and you'll die a spiritual death which is not ceasing to be but it is being somewhere without God the death that God was speaking about was a death that would separate it would be the separation of God the Creator from man the creation it's an interesting tree if you would look with me for a moment it's one tree singular it's one tree but it bears plural fruit one tree but it bears plural fruit it bears fruit of the knowledge of good but it also bears fruit of the knowledge of Adams's way of worship church was one of submission to his creator not now note this because it is still true for us today our foundation for worship is when we submit ourselves to God's Word there is no worship given to God without total submission to his word Adam's way of worship was one of submission to his creator his will the way God's will determined Adam's ways it was Adam that would look at the tree this one tree would do a fruit and every time he submitted himself and passed by and would not eat in a forum he was worshipping he was worshipping God we understand that Genesis chapter 3 happened the serpent that fallen angel that becomes the chief of all demons and destruction comes and Eve is deceived and Eve Adams wife gives to Adam and Adam the Bible plainly tells us that Adam was not deceived Adam willingly knowingly that when he aided the fruit he would suffer a separation from God Genesis chapter 3 just a moment after the fruit was eaten the Bible says in Genesis chapter 3 verse number 7 and the eyes of them both were opened and they knew that they were naked and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons now notice what happened their eyes were open but in a way their eyes were closed because now their eyes become close to the Creator and their eyes immediately are fixed on the creation their eyes are now closed that's why Jesus said to Nicodemus except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God he cannot see the kingdom of God what are the Pharisees known for they're known for their long robes that are not known for their outward they wanted to take the outward and show you they were in a right relationship with God because when we are not born again that's all we focus on is the outward they knew that they were naked why their eyes are now close to God but it's now opened to themselves they made themselves aprons now I also want you to know that Adam and Eve had the nature of God God is good as a matter of fact Jesus the man Christ Jesus once was approached by a young man that called him good and he said why did you call me good there's none good but God when Adam and Eve were created their nature was good but when they disobey did not submit their lives and they ate of the forbidden fruit now their nature becomes evil does it sound familiar that tree one tree that had the knowledge of good and the knowledge of evil now man becomes by nature evil he cannot see God because he is blinded because his evil nature has blinded him to the promises in the life that is in Almighty God Paul in the book of Ephesians chapter 2 and verse number one begins to describe to the church at Ephesus the tremendous transformation that took place when they were born again he says in verse one and you happy God quicken that means to make alive who were dead separated in your trespasses and sin he said God quickened you because you were separated by your trespasses and since you were dead wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world according to the Prince of the power of the air the spirit the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience among whom also we all had our conversation that's manner of life in times past our behavior in times past in the lusts of our flesh fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind what's this and were by nature the children of Wrath were by nature the children of Wrath even as others Adam and Eve's disobedience caused them to take on the nature of the tempter which is rebellion the nature of the tempter was to get his eyes upon himself it was Lucifer Lucifer's fall that brought this about because Lucifer began to look at himself and wanted to be exalted and so now Adam and Eve take on the nature of the evil one they take on the seed of rebellion that's why they first looked at themselves and covered themselves with an apron but then sin grows from generation to generation it would be Cain Adam and Eve's son that would murder his own brother Abel generations would go on and on until Noah's day God would look down and the whole earth was filled with human beings that had the nature of the fallen angel Lucifer and God caused a worldwide flood taking all humanity but no one his family but let me take you back to genesis 3:15 for a moment in the midst of God standing after Adam and Eve and hid themselves from the Lord the Lord said in chapter 3 verse 15 he said I will put enmity as a matter of fact in genesis 3:15 he is speaking to Satan he is speaking to the devil he's speaking to Lucifer and he says I will put enmity between thee that's who he's speaking to and the woman between thy seed in other words what you have produced the evil that you have introduced between thy seed and her seed it shall bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel so God makes a promise this is the very first promise and God made the very first promise to the serpent to the devil to Lucifer and he tells him he said I am going to put a wall of hatred between your seed and have to be very careful here when I mentioned the word serpent seed because there is a tremendous erroneous doctrine that goes by the title but when I say the serpent seed I'm talking about humanity that now has that nature of rebellion that's on the inside of them they were created with the nature of God the nature of good inside of them they were created with that and as long as they would obey God's Word they could have continued with that but when they yielded and became unlike God unlike their nature then they now have a wicked evil nature God said I'm going to put a wall of hatred between your seed and the woman see it shall bruise thy head since there's going to be a there's going to be a struggle there's going to be a battle there's going to be a fight between these two seeds the Serpent's seed the seed of following humanity and the seed of the woman be a fight who will bruise thy head and thou shalt bruise his heel and we understand today that prophetically God was speaking about the Virgin Mary God was speaking about that there will come another man the seed of the woman was none other than God manifested in the flesh God is good this seed of a woman God is saying to Satan the seed of the woman is going to come and when the seed of the woman comes which is God robed in flesh he's going to put his foot in absolute triumph and victory on the head of the serpent and on the head of this nature we know this was fulfilled in Galatians chapter 4 and verse number 4 when it said but when the fullness of time was come God sent forth his son made of a woman made under the law when the fullness of time came genesis 3:15 god made a promise to the devil he said there's going to be a seed of a woman that's going to come and the seed of the woman is going to crush your head but you'll bruise his heel now why did God need to become a man because there was no way to save us there was no way for us to have a rebirth unless that would happen for second Corinthians chapter 5 and verse 21 one says for he for he hath made him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him so God made a man by overshadowing a virgin girl and God made him to be sin for us God made him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God here in this verse we see that the only way we could have a rebirth is there had to be another Adam come that could pay the price of salvation but that Adam that was to come had to be made sin in order for us to have the rebirth and to be made righteous or right standing in God's eyes look at 1st John chapter 3 in verse number 5 and II know that he was manifested to take away our sins and in him is no sin why did God come in human flesh God came yes to show his love but there's no greater way of showing his love by taking our sins away he came that he might take away our sins Hebrews chapter 2 and verse 12 the writer says here speaking of God becoming flesh saying I will declare by name and to that my brethren in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee and again I will put my trust in him and again behold I am the children which God hath given me for as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood that's that's who we are flesh and blood he also himself took part of the same he took on him part of the same God took on him part of the same that through death he might destroy him that have the power over death that is the devil and to deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage look at this he took on flesh and blood so that he could take the conquering power of death out of the hand of the master of death he came Satan had the right to hold death because he was the Conqueror of the first Adam he conquered the first leader of the human race he had the title he clinched it tied in his hands but God said in genesis 3:15 he said there's coming a day when the seed of the woman is going to bruise the head of the serpent and this is this date Janus excuse me Hebrews chapter 2:16 let me finish this for verily he took not on him the nature of angels God didn't take on the nature of an angel but he took on him the seed of Abraham think about how much God loves us today think about how much God loves us today when Lucifer fell in rebellion not one redemptive plan was put into action by God to save the angels not one effort was made to redeem Lucifer and his fallen followers with him but when man fell but when man fell oh thank god God had already before he ever said let there be light God already had a master plan that the probability of this man living on the earth was his tempter there'll be a probability there'll be a probability of this and falling but with the probability of him falling in sin God went ahead and made the provision of how man to come back into his presence because the Bible says that Jesus Christ is the lamb slain before the foundation of the world God already had a plan in mind notice something with me going back to Genesis chapter 3 verse 14 he speaks to the devil and he says thou art cursed now I know that he's speaking to the reptile but he's also speaking to the spiritual realm he says you you are cursed you are cursed now if Satan is cursed then all of Satan's children are cursed if I'm living alive that I'm not redeemed if I'm living a life of sin that I am living a life under the same curse that the founder of sin because the Bible again says in Ephesians two and three that we are by nature the children of Wrath so if Satan is curse then the followers humanity humanity is cursed along with Satan now I want to go by I want to go back today to that original tree that one tree that bore two fruit of good and of evil that one tree that one tree that bore good fruit and evil evil fruit Galatians chapter 3 and verse 13 says Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law there is no way to be redeemed from the curse except through Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is our only means of salvation as a matter of fact even his name plays an important role in it because the Bible says that neither is there salvation acts four and twelve and neither is there salvation in any other for there's no other name given among given under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved even in the Old Testament they knew the power of the name of the Lord for it says that the name of the Lord is a strong and a mighty tower and the righteous run into it and are safe the only saving power is in Jesus the only saving deliverance is in Jesus there's not salvation in any other there's no other name that can grant you salvation but the name of Jesus Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us look at this now being made a curse for us Jesus was made a curse for us for it is written cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree notice one tree two men are fruit good and evil but now the only way that we can be redeemed it's for the good God to robe himself in flesh and come and hang upon the tree but Paul even says it curse it is every one that hangeth on a tree that the blessings of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith Deuteronomy 21 and verse 22 and 23 this is in the Old Testament if a man hath committed a sin worthy of death and he'd be put to death and they'll hang him on a tree his body shall not remain all night on the tree but thou shalt in any wise marry him that day for he that hang for he that is hang is a cursed of God that the land be not defiled which the LORD thy God giveth thee for inheritance look at this it says that in the Old Testament you take a man if he was worthy of sin if he was worthy of death you can nail him on a tree and he's cursed of God and matter of fact they believed that the reason you hung him on a tree was to say Earth rejects him you lift him up above the earth Earth rejects him and heaven does not receive him in other words you would look at him and say Earth don't want him and heaven doesn't want him he's a curse of God but it also said let him be taken down in the day that he's hung don't let him be hung or don't let him hang on the tree at night that the land be not defiled now let's keep reading Jesus Christ Jesus Christ who knew no sin Jesus Christ oh praise His Holy Name Jesus Christ who knew no sin became sin that we can be could become the righteousness one man Jesus Christ God robed in flesh hung on a tree and on that tree was the knowledge of good louia was the knowledge of good and the knowledge of evil hung on that tree it hung on that tree because he who knew no sin became sin Jesus never committed one sin but he opened up his arms and said I'll become sin that's why he cried out on the cross my God my God why has not shakin me because God when he became sin when he became all the evil from Adam God looked down in righteousness and accepted that sacrifice of that second Adam the Bible says in 1st Corinthians 15 and this is going to help us to understand in 1st Corinthians 15:45 listen to this and so it is written the first man Adam was made a living soul and the last Adam was made a quickening spirit God has only by his creative word he's only made two men he made the first man Adam and he made the last man Jesus Christ he's only made two all other human beings have been made with the exception of Eve have been made through reproduction but God made two men he made Adam and he calls him the first Adam but then Jesus Christ is called the last Adam said the first Adam had a living soul when did he give that living soul when God breathed into him the breath of life he had a living soul when did he lose that living soul he lost that living soul when he broke God's law knowingly and he reached to that tree and he took the fruit he become a dead soul incapable of interacting with his God blinded to the things of God the Bible says the Bible says first Timothy 2:5 for there's one God and one mediator between God and men the man Christ Jesus going back that God made two men the first Adam in the second Adam which is Jesus Christ the first man Adam the first man Adam had God's Spirit brother Erikson the first man Adam had God's Spirit in him hee hee was breathed into him the breath of life the first men was breathed into him the breath of life and he had God's likeness but the second Adam Jesus Christ differs from the first Adam the first Adam had one breath of Almighty God but listen to John in his record of Jesus Christ in John chapter 3 in verse number 30 John said he must increase but I must decrease he that cometh above he that cometh from above is above all and he he that is of the earth is earthy and speaketh of the earth look at this difference he must increase I must decrease he that cometh from above is above all and he that is earth is of the earth is earthy and speaketh of the earth he that cometh from above from heaven is above all John is referring John is referring to himself how he got here by Zacharias and Elizabeth and how Jesus Christ got here the miraculous overshadowing of the Holy Ghost and what he has seen and heard he testified and no man receiveth his testimony he that had received his testimony have he set to his seal that God is true so we the children of Wrath we're given the option we can either believe what is said about Jesus or we cannot believe what he says if what what is said about Jesus but if we believe what we what is said about Jesus we have a seal set upon us that God is true but watch verse 34 for her for he whom God hath sent that's Jesus cry speak of the words of God for God giveth not the spirit by measure unto him so there's a dip it's between the first atom the first atom had one breath of Almighty God but not the second atom the second atom had the spirit without measure because Colossians 2 and 9 said for in him dwelleth the fullness of the Godhead bodily and we are complete in him all brothers and sisters today I'm talking about being born again of the water and the spirit of Adam lost his God likeness when God breathed into his nostrils and he became a living so he lost it but praise be unto Almighty God today because of Jesus God becoming a man and hanging on a cross hanging on a tree we have the knowledge of good and evil he took the evil so that we could take the good he became unrighteous so that we could become righteous he must be born again you must be born again I believe that Jesus did this here on purpose in John chapter 20 verse number 19 Church Jesus did this as a prelude he did this to connect he had told them after his ascension he had told them not to depart from Jerusalem but wait until they were filled with the Holy Ghost which is the breath of God wade into your field but before that he gave them a little Prelude he said in John chapter 20 and verse number 19 then the same day now this had been happened after his death burial and resurrection then the same day at evening being the first day of the week when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews came Jesus and stood in the midst and said peace be unto you and when he had so said he showed unto them his hands and his side then where the disciples glad when they saw the Lord then said Jesus unto them again peace be unto you as my father has sent me even so send I you and when he had said this now watch this now and when he had said this he breathed on them and said receive ye the Holy Ghost and whosoever sin who say and whose soever sins you remit shall be remitted unto them and whoso whose soever sins you retain shall be retained look at this beautiful thing here he gives them a little bit he's about to ascend into heaven and the last commandment is don't depart from Jerusalem until you be filled with the promise of the father which is the Holy Ghost but he comes and he connects the dots between Genesis 2 and 7 where God the first Adam God breathed the breath of life and man became a living soul he just walks up to them as God in the flesh the same God the same God that breathed into that lifeless form of dirt on the ground now dwells in a glorified body and he breathed upon them and says receive he the Holy Ghost good people today it's the Holy Ghost that gives the church its life it's the Holy Ghost that gives the church its peace it's the Holy Ghost that gives the church its guidance I wouldn't want to be alive today without the baptism of the Holy Ghost I'm so glad that as a 16 year old boy God baptized me with the Holy Ghost this dead separated do nothing of a teenager boy no future ahead for him a future of doom and despair but Almighty God breathed into me the breath of life and I became a living soul to see a God that loved me I begin to see a future that was bright I don't know who may be watching and listening today but I want to tell you that you can receive the Holy Ghost right there on your couch you can receive the promise of the Father right there on your couch today you can be refilled with the Holy Ghost you can have a remapped ism of the Holy Ghost oh I'm so glad for the Spirit of God I said preach it get excited about all you better believe I get excited you better believe I get excited about it because when the Spirit of God comes just this past week a precious woman of another denomination is sad to say a denomination that explains the way the baptism of the Holy Ghost they tell them when you believe when you believe upon Jesus Christ you automatically by faith have the baptism of the Holy Ghost that's not biblically true and I take you to one passage of Scripture in Acts chapter 19 we're writer the writer of over half the New Testament the Apostle Paul asked those in Ephesus this simple question have you received the Holy Ghost since you believe plainly showing that believing upon Jesus as our Savior and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost is two separate distinct experiences precious lady was watching online and she first saw how that she had not been are open for baptism this past Thursday this precious lady came to the church here and my wife and I spoke the scripture over her and we took her to the baptismal pool and we baptized her the way the Apostles baptized in the book of Acts we baptized her in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of her sins when she came up out of that water God filled her with the Holy Ghost God filled her with the Holy Ghost in this time I am so thankful that we have the Spirit of God as I told you the last couple of weeks two weeks ago on a Sunday morning I came to you and I preached a message of hope and a message of faith and I've tried to ever since but this week the Spirit of God began to deal with me and he began to tell me tell the church tell the church that the reason they're standing with incredible peace is because they have my spirit abiding in him that they have my spirit living in them rejoice Church praise God Church magnify the Lord Church we have a piece not like the world gives
