you have your Bibles and would stand with me today Luke chapter 2 verse 20 in Matthew chapter 2 verse 11 two verses of scripture that you've heard many times the last several weeks to my wonderful church family I love you this morning I thank you for gathering on this Sunday morning to our guests that are here for your first time thank you for blessing first Apostolic Church with your presence to our returning guests that liked what you felt the first time you were here and you said I'm coming back thank you so very very much for being back in the house of the Lord with us today my dear friend Jimmy Toni texted me yesterday I could read the text to you and went something like this this is from brother Tony or we affectionately call him Uncle Jimmy please tell me I'm not the only insane person that's having Church on Christmas Day i text back and I said Uncle Jimmy you remind me of an old worldly song that I used to know if you don't know me by now you better not play that now we will be having church Wednesday night 7:30 candlelight service and come worship with us we will be having church tonight at 6 o'clock for our God is worthy of all praise we understand there's people out of town and and we understand how all that works then god bless you may you enjoy your family time together but you can't beat this family time Luke 2:20 let me get in the word Luke 2:20 and the Shepherd's returned glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen as it was told unto them Matthew chapter 2 and verse number 11 and when they were come into the house they saw the young child with Mary his mother and fell down and worshiped him and when they had opened their treasures they presented unto Him gifts gold and frankincense and myrrh it's a very simple fault I want to leave us with today it's simply this hearing comes before seeing hearing hearing comes before seeing precious God today my cup runs over right now I feel in my tone the joy unspeakable and full of glory God my heart sings a melody today God my spirit dances on the inside Lord I'm so thankful for the joy that you give and the peace that you give Lord today helped me to bless the people that have gathered here for Lord if we've gathered here for any other reason but to praise you we've gathered for the wrong reason Lord move up and down the aisles of this church today Lord at the end of this message draw souls to this altar to be touched by your mighty merciful hand in Jesus name I pray and give all glory to Jesus name Amen you may be seated there's two parts of this scripture the infant Christ child laying in a manger and the Bible says that when the Shepherd's came that they left glorifying God and praising God they left glorifying and praising God they saw an infant in a manger and they lived praising and glorifying God we know what praise looks like don't we church we know what praise sounds like we know what praise looks like praise takes on many forms praise can take on the form of hand clapping so what you're doing I'm praising God would you have me praise God right now what I'm praising God or it can take on the form of lifted up hands or it can take on the form of a shout hallelujah thank you Jesus just at the sight of this infant child calls the Shepherd's to begin glorifying and begin praising God just the sight two years later wise men Magi had seen his star and when they came in the house and the scripture says saw the young child that they immediately went in to worship but we must understand it wasn't necessarily what they saw that caused them to glorify and praise and worship God it wasn't necessarily what they saw because the wise men the Magi to worship and to bring extravagant expensive gifts to him know if glorifying and praising and worshipping God is only by what we see with our eyes we will always be inconsistent praisers and inconsistent worshipers because what I see with my natural eye does not always prompt me to worship God but it is coupled with what they heard to the wise men they heard about a star that would represent a ruler to the shepherds their midnight watching of the flocks was interrupted by a divine light that shone round about them and an angelic being that appeared to them and the angel first had to tell them these words fear not for behold I bring you tidings of great joy for unto you Is Born This Day in the City of David a savior which is Christ the Lord and no sooner than the main angel that stops speaking the heavens lit up and a heavenly choir was saying glory to God in the highest peace on earth goodwill to men then they looked at each other and the Shepherd's after the light of God's glory had dissipated and when it was just the Shepherd's and what they heard they said let us go even unto Bethlehem and see the thing which has been told us and when they came to Bethlehem they found just as the angel had said they found the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger and my friend they left praising and glorifying God but that praise and that glory would have never happened Church if there had not have coupled joined together what they heard with what they saw it's always how faith walked works faith always works through what we hear and what we see is a matter of fact true faith true faith helps us to look beyond the obstacles and see the God of the promise true faith true faith does not always erase the valley does not always erase the fiery furnace does not always erase the hungry lions and the Lions Den does not always does not always do away but true faith enables us to stand in the midst of our Lions Den or our fiery furnace and not see the flames that man has kindled but true faith helps us to stand and see the God who said I will never leave you nor will I ever forsake you could we give the Lord a little praise in this house this morning I was reading this past week church about a world-class snow skier and this type of snow skiing is speed skiing down mountains it's a very dangerous sport as they as they ski down through these mountains through trees over rocks through all kinds of landscape and the lady was asked this champion snow skier was asked how do you when you go through the trees what's on your mind when you go through the trees she said I don't look at the trees what you don't look at the trees no I look for the spaces between the trees she said because if I begin to look at the trees I would miss out on the space between the trees it's not it's not the tree that I have my I train to its the space between the trees and all I had to pick up my pencil and say that'll preach now you know too many times you and I are are coming down the slopes of life and and the terrain is unpredictable and and all of a sudden we come up over the slopes and there's the trees but I can't get my eye upon the dilemma of the job I can't get my eye upon the dilemma of the family issues I can't get my eye upon the dilemma of the problems in life I have to keep my eye upon what I hear through the Word of God he said I will not put more upon you than you are able to bear but I will with the trees a temptation I will with the temptation make a way of escape but I've come to tell somebody today what are you hearing I want to sing a Christmas song do you hear what I hear because what I hear is I'll never leave you what I hear is I won't put too much upon you what I'll hear is I'll be there for you if you just look for the space come on could we worship him this morning you see the Bible the Bible says in proverbs chapter 2 and verse number 20 excuse me proverbs chapter 20 and verse number 12 I was way off on that one proverbs chapter 20 and verse number 12 see because I want to preach this today and teach this because I want you to read my lips you will receive nothing from the Lord without faith read my lips good you will receive nothing from the Lord how important is this Bible lesson to how important is this message today what it's just important without you heating to this and walking by this you will never receive anything from the Lord everything from the Lord comes through what you hear and what you do with what you hear because the wise men could have heard about a star and they could have seen a star but if they didn't do something about it they would have never worshiped him in the house the Shepherd's could have stood there and said wow what angels and they could have went back to tending their sheep and they could have never seen the Christ child too many of us are heroes of God's Word we're not doers of it we don't actually apply it to our lives and look for the space the Bible said in proverbs 20 and 12 the hearing here and the see I the LORD hath made both of them its it an amazing that he begins with the ear he begins with the ear and then he goes to the eye because I believe he's trying to tell us something how faith works because the only way that we can have faith and the Bible says it Romans 10:17 so then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of god that's why some of the biggest attacks on our life happened at this time in the service some of the largest some of the most times that you have to really discipline your mind it doesn't have anything to do with the preacher and you don't like him and he didn't tell a joke and it doesn't have much attention and he's not relevant and on and on the list could go and I may be guilty of a little bit of some all of that alright but the true fact of the matter is you shouldn't come here for the personality of brother carpenter or brother Erickson or anybody else that preaches you shouldn't come here because what I really like to hear him preach you should come here because he teaches or preaches the Word of God and the only way that you can ever have faith so faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God you never you will never see anything in your life until you are willing to hear the word of faith the Word of God preached can you say Amen God said I made the ear and I made the see eye but you see it's amazing if you're not looking for God you never find him but when you begin to look for him you'll soon discover he was there all the time he was there all the time some people that have nothing to praise God for it is not that they have nothing to praise God for it is that they are not recognizing what they ought to praise God for it's not that God hasn't done anything for us see let me give you a little example of this this week a dear member of our church got disoriented and got in his automobile early the morning and kind of messed up the garage kind of crashed into the side of the garage and went out and hit his truck on the way out and got down here on 321 going the wrong way and on and on the story goes and we can just look at bad bad and bad what about this what about the fact that he didn't run over his wife that was in the garage what about the fact that he didn't run into the river down here in Loudoun County what about the fact that he didn't hit somebody else head-on and taking their lives what about the fact that they were able to get him to a hospital and they were able to treat him and what about the fact that the next day his wife were seated at the Cracker Barrel eating breakfast you see there's a lot of things we could turn around say oh how bad we got it no it's only if you've not been listening to God's Word because God's Word is always directing us to look for the space in between the trees you've got something to praise God for this morning you're just not looking for it the first thing you've got to praise God aren't you glad you're here today aren't you thankful that you had mine to get up oh I know it's Sunday I know our bodies are tired I know we got a lot of stuff going on now I read this I read this and please excuse me if this offends it this offends you I've got some cookies in my office and I'll share some cookies with you have to church if this offends you but I read this little thing this week that said if you're going through hell keep going keep going because if you're going through hell one thing you don't want to do is stop David said yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death you see I may be in hell I may be in a storm I made me an all kinds of chaos in my life right now but one thing for sure I've got to keep on walking by faith God loves me God cares about me if God before me who can be against me he has to be in the hollow of his hand I know that I'm hissing he's mine so you got to understand that he give you an ear to hear see you've got something to praise God for today you got a card you got food your refrigerator at home come on now you feel good well I don't have cancer do you you got two legs to walk with you got two hands to praise God with and then that's in the natural how about us folks that know a revelation that the vast majority of religion does not know does not see because they're blinded by the trees of man-made religion and they're not looking for the space of Revelation I and my father are one if you've seen me you've seen the father how about everybody in here that's been baptized in the name that's above every name you've not been baptized some traditional way come on now let's something to thank God for today has he ever brought you out come on has he ever made a way come on come on folks the majority of my that the majorities of my I'm sorry I was wrong have to do with something like this honey I can't find this well it's right in there on the dresser it's right in there I'm telling you I'm going that dresser and I look around and and I'm gonna I'm Chuck I can't find it so help me my righteous God of heaven she walks right in there picks it up and she waits for second I'm sorry I've now dubbed that I gave it a man look a man look man look I don't know what a man look just I just go in there it's not there same with the blessings of God this morning the blessings of God are all over your dresser you just need to look for the blessings of God you just need to start looking for the blessings of God they're right there but you see if you're not looking for it you'll never find it Paul mentioned about a group of people in Acts chapter 28 verse number 17 excuse me Acts chapter 28 verse number 27 not doing good with my scriptures today Acts chapter 28 verse number 27 for the heart of this people is whites that word wax there means gross it means it means to grow gross that means it's covered over and their ears are dull of hearing and their eyes have they closed lest they should see with their eyes hear with their ears and understand with their heart and should be converted and I should have healed them look at what he says he said there's a people that begin to have some hearing issues they begin to not be able to hear God's Word they begin to have selective hearing they begin to pick and choose what they wanted to hear until their ears were dull and their eyes were shut their hearts were untouched but you see this morning I just believe that I am preaching to the cream of the crop I believe that I am teaching and preaching to a group of men and women and students today they say pastor I want to hear God's Word in my life I want to hear the word of God I know I've got a lot of trees my I know I got a lot of trees that I have to have in my life but brother carpenter preach to me the word today tell me about the space in between the trees you see today if you don't give heed to the Word of God it's a very dangerous thing proverbs 28 and 9 says he that turneth away his ear from hearing the law or the word even his prayer shall be an abomination imagine that it's not what a lot of folks think that you get in a jam you can go to God and get a prayer answered it doesn't work that way God said if you turn your ear away from my word then you don't know how to pray properly you cannot be someone that will not listen as a matter of fact the message Bible says it this way in proverbs 28 and verse number 9 God has no use for the prayers of the people who won't listen to him ouch God has no use for the people God has no use for the prayers that are praying seems to me that if we don't listen to God if we can pray all we want to but God says your prayers an abomination to me makes me want to listen to what God's Word says read God's Word and listen to God's Word Hebrews chapter 11 6 bears it even more out when it says but without faith it is impossible to please God he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him but how will we ever believe in someone whom we've never heard and how will we ever hear without a preacher and how should he ever get up and preach except they be sent can I tell you today to everything you believe about God that's accurate you believe it because you heard it with your ears and when you begin to hear it with your ears you hear about a God that's not a God that's trying to make your road rough you hear it about a god not a God that's trying to see how difficult he can make not a God for the mark that's playing Hondo when you begin to hear about the god of the old in the New Testament you hear about a God who is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him I'm telling you when the enemy tries to say you're being faithful to church but there's no difference in your life I can turn around and stand upon the Word of God and say devil he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him oh friend I love that old song of years ago something good is about to happen I feel like something good he's on its way every time I listen to the Word of God I can leave this house and I can begin to say I just feel like something good is about to happen I just feel like something good is on its way something good he's on his way he's a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him I guess I'm on a road today about little songs but how about this one we'll be careful middle ears what you hear Oh be careful little ears I know y'all like hear me sing so much little ears what you hear for the father up above he is looking down in love so be careful little ears what you hear why is it that we ought to be careful what we hear because what we hear affects what we see if you've never met a person before and all of a sudden you get someone that gives you some information where they're stuck up what they think they're better than everybody else what they think this they give you a bad report the first thing you ought to do is look at the container that's talking to you you see there's got to be a filter that we put what we hear through our ears we shouldn't just listen to every report why because it will affect you if you hear that person stuck up if you hear that person thinks they're better if you hear that person's got some issues in their past then guess what if you hear that and do nothing with it when you meet that person you will look at that person through the eyes of what you heard but the opposite is true if you hear about a person you've never met and I said that's one of the most friendliest people in town that's one of the most kindest people you'll ever want to meet men they are godly they're holy I'm gonna tell you they don't have to shake your hand you see the person that heard the bad if that person walks in the room and doesn't shake their hand they say hmm I was right hmm that's right they didn't shake my hand but the person that heard that they were friendly and kind and prayerful can have that same person walk in the room and not shake their hand and it will not alter them because they have heard what is good Church today we need to be very careful about what we allow our ears to hear we need to be careful too much I think we may be a little lopsided we're really keen on telling you what you're not and you shouldn't watch with your eyes but really we need to balance that you need to be careful what you allow to be spoken into your ear because what you hear is what you see shepherds do not go to Bethlehem until they've heard about a savior wise men do not go to Bethlehem if they have not heard about the star and saints of the first Apostolic Church do not continually praise God if they don't hear about a God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask and/or think you say Oh would you tell me about a God that's fair no I'm glad that God's not fair I'm glad that he's not a fair God because if he was a fair God probably none of us would be in this room right now but he is a just God he is a just God he loves us today he is a just God be careful what you hear because what you hear determines what you see Paul said it like this in Philippians 4 and verse number 8 finally brethren what sort of things are true whatsoever things are honest whatsoever things are just whatsoever things are pure what sort of things are lovely whatsoever things are of a good report if there be any virtue if there be any praise think on these things those things which you have both learned and received and heard look at this principle here and heard and seen in me do and the God of peace shall be when you look at what Paul said he said be careful what you hear put what you hear through a system is it honest is it true is it good report you see some things are true but they're not a good report it may be true that a person fell in sin if they be true that a person had issues years ago it may be true that individual failed God horribly years ago but don't tell it why because it's not a good report they got it into the blood they went on with their life give me a good report tell me about somebody coming out of sin tell me about somebody living for God tell me about somebody doing a conduct tell me about something that will cause me to see the goodness tell me something good well you see the reason what we hear either increases or decreases our faith imagine that what you hear either increases your faith or decreases your faith because it changes the focus of how we perceive the subject matter was a woman in the Old Testament she is introduced to us as Rahab the harlot man what a way to be introduced Rahab the harlot the harlot the harlot is what she what she is she is a harlot I don't need to I I don't need to expound on that she is a harlot put a period at the end of it she is a harlot but what she hears and believes changes who she is and changes her destiny now the Bible says she's a harlot that's who she is but what she hears and believes changes her and her destiny how about you today but God has already spoke to my heart stamped it there's people here today all know you may not be a harlot but there's some things in your life that are at the end of your name it defines you it's the way you look at yourself and because you look at yourself this way everybody else looks at you that way but here today we have the opportunity to hear something that can change us not only change us but change our destiny starts out in the book of Joshua chapter 2 verse number 9 got that one right praise God pat on the back Joshua chapter 2 and verse number 9 now the children of Israel are about to come into Jericho and they're gonna destroy all of Jericho City they send two spies over he took these two spies and it's interesting these two spies made it to the harlots house we'll stop there okay when the two spies came to the harlots house verse nine she said unto the men who's talking I'm gonna see if you listen to me now who's talking who Rachel the Rachel I'm gonna see up here I don't get everybody here Rachel the the harlot right Rahab not Rachel I'm sorry sorry about that take the pack back apologize to all the Rachel's in the room she said unto the men I know that the Lord hath given you the land and that your terror is falling upon us and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you but we have heard interesting we have heard how the Lord dried up the waters of the Red Sea for you stop there it's a 40 year old testimony it's been 40 years since God dried up the Red Sea we need to check ourselves when a 40 year old testimony can move a harlot and not move us we need we got a lot of things we just go to remember today we caused us to shout we forgot listen we have forgotten things God has brought us through theirs young couple see there's couples here today that you're in the third and fourth decade of your marriage and you forgot what God did for you the first couple years of your marriage you forgot how you didn't know how you were gonna get some rent paid you didn't know how you're gonna get this done and you didn't know how you're gonna make it but you know what you got your mind on the space between the trees God has brought you here we get our mind off my mother-in-law that broke her arm it was a clean break it was broken the doctor said it was broken it was x-rated it was broken but when she goes back in for another checkup that arms not broke what happened between the broke arm and the first visit to the doctor was a trip to the church to be anointed with oil and touched her body and she goes back to the doctor now you can say it was coincidence if you want to but I don't believe in Carmen I don't believe in coincidence I believe in a God that always can give a space between the trees come on we need to we may need to reminisce we may need a little reminiscent here this morning how much God has brought you through 40 year old testimony for we have heard how God dried up the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt and what God did to the two kings of the Emma rights that were on the other side of Jordan Sihon and GOG whom you utterly destroyed that just happened recently and as soon as we had heard emphases on heard these things our hearts need melt neither did there remain any more courage in any man because of you for the Lord your God He is God in heaven above and earth beneath now therefore I pray you swear unto me by the Lord since I have show kindness showed you kindness that you will also show kindness unto my father's house and give me a true token or a sign and that you will save alive my father my mother my brethren my sisters and all that they have and deliver our lives and our lives from death listen to the harlot the harlot is saying what she has heard we have heard that you have that God brought up the Red Sea we have heard that you just recently defeated two kings we have heard and notice this she didn't say I have heard she said we have heard she said we have heard and we are trembling but it's amazing you have to step out of the we congregation and get in the eye of congregation because you cannot answer for the we you can only answer for the eye not everybody in Jericho was saved many of the inhabitants face judgment do you know why they face they could only be fearful but not faithful but there's one woman who is a harlot but it don't matter because she has heard about the god of the Red Sea she has heard about the God that destroyed two kings and when these two spies which is no coincidence I believed it because Rahab had faith in her heart God did not look down at that woman and think well you're a harlot god looked down and said you have faith God doesn't look down at you today and start listening off your sins God is not looking for sins today Church God is looking for faith today he's not looking for mess-ups he's looking for faith this morning he's not looking for confessions he's looking for faith this morning my god I want to give him some faith today I've had some mess up but I want to say God I still believe that shoots you dried up the Red Sea I still believe that you're above all in free law and I feel and the spies made their way to Rahab and they're in Rahab's house she gives a declaration of faith there's no God like your God and they said you see this scarlet cord look at verse 17 chapter 2 and the men said unto her we will be blameless of this 9 earth which thou has made us to swear behold when we come into the land now shop buying this line of scarlet thread in the window which they'll dis let us down by and thou shalt bring thy father and thy mother and thy brethren and all thy father's household Homan to me and it shall be that whosoever shall go out of the doors of that house into the street his blood shall be upon his head and we will be guiltless and whosoever shall be with me in the house behold his blood shall be on our head If any man be hand me up on him and if they uttered this our business then we will be quit about oath which thou has made us to swear and she said according to your words so be it and she sent them away and they departed and she bound the scarlet line in the window can you understand something faith always has a manifestation you can not only hear about faith if you believe it it will manifest itself she said I believe he's a God that that dried up the Red Sea I believe he's a God that took care of the gods of the animal rights and because of that I want to be saved and they said lady you see this scarlet rope that you're letting us down through the window for our escape said you've got to bind this in the window and said when we come back everybody that's in the house it's gonna be saved but if they go outside the door they're gonna be lost can I tell you I don't know if she had to do any explaining I don't know if there was people that come out and said why does your winter look different from everybody else why do you got that silly cord hanging out the window why do you have this limitation what they might have viewed is silly she viewed as he sensual what they may have talked about that's an ugly-looking rope hanging out your window she looked out and said that's my salvation I gotta keep it in the window can I tell you you can hear all kinds of things about holiness if you want to you can hear legalism if you want to you can hear we don't have to if you want to but as far as I'm concerned it's my scarlet cord hanging out the window it's that it's that thing that's coming out I know we do things different that's my scarlet cord I'm gonna wear a peculiar people that's my scarlet cord this morning listen to this road the chapters over to chapter number six verse number 22 Joshua was 6 verse number 22 they have come into the lamb they have marched around Jericho and they are about to shout and bring the walls down but Joshua said unto the two men that had spied out the country go into the harlots house and bring out thence the woman and all that she hath as you swear unto her and the young men that were spies went in and brought out Rahab but I want you to note something here it doesn't say they brought out Rahab the harlot it just simply says they brought out Rahab because something wonderful begins to happen to what we are who we are when we begin to operate in faith I was Rahab the harlot but I begin to hear about a God who contrived a Red Sea I begin to hear about a God that could take care of the heathen armies and now don't call me Rahab the harlot anymore just go get in Rahab oh my I feel the Holy Ghost here and then young men that we're spies went in and brought out Rahab and her father and her mother and her brother brethren and all that she had and they brought them out and they brought out all her kindred and left them without the camp of Israel can I tell you what I'm looking for in 2020 I'm looking for Rahab harlots or I'm looking for I'm looking for the man that's a mess-up but I'm looking to preach enough faith into his heart that he's going to buy into this but we're not just going to get Rahab the harlot Rahab hazard ready we don't get to Daddy Rahab has her mama we're gonna get to mama Rahab has some brothers we're gonna get some brothers can I tell you what I'm looking for in 2020 I'm looking for some of your family members that are suicidal I'm looking for some of your family members that are all messed up not because you've heard and you believe they're coming along with you we're going to baptize some daddy's hence the Mamas and some cousins we're going to start having a revival break down oh that story gets better this story gets better this story gets better this story gets better this story gets better they brought them all out and they brought out all her children and left them without the camp without the camp they burned the city with fire and all it says they left them about the camp now Bible says she was with Israel all the days her life she was with Israel all the days of our lives her mom and her daddy Gentiles they Gentiles there are Jews there are Hebrews they're not brought out of Egypt the Gentiles but they they we're with Israel all the days their life now Bible gives us the genealogy of Jesus Christ the book of Matthew gives us the genealogy of Jesus Christ Matthew chapter 1 verse number 1 the book of the generation of Jesus Christ the Son of David the son of Abraham now Matthew gives us this genealogy here to prove that Christ had a right to the throne of David the generations of Jesus Christ the Son of David son of Abraham Abraham begat Isaac and isaac begat jacob and jacob begat judas they'll get him confused with the Judas of the disciples please and his brethren and the baguettes continue and the begats come to Matthew chapter 1 and verse number 5 and solomon begat Bilbo as of or it says rock up or that is Rahab and Boaz begat obed of ruth and obon beget Jesse and Jesse begat David but isn't it interesting that this woman did not remain single but there was a man that proposed marriage and we have a true picture of the bloodline of Jesus Christ both Jewish and Gentile as it mixes together he has both Sulman who's Jewish and Rahab who's Gentile as they blend together and they have a little baby boy and they call him Boaz now I can stop there but when you begin to live my faith of Boaz but stop there with Boaz for a moment and you have Naomi and her husband and her two sons and you have a bad time that happens in Israel and there's a famine and they owe me and her husband and her two sons go down to Moab because they some food that in Moab they leave Jerusalem the house of God and they go to the world and the world's always rough on you you let me tell you something the world will take the twinkle out of your eye the world will take your complexion of youth and they'll age you far beyond your age they go down I'm telling you it's why I'm glad I'm in the church today they go down to Moab no ABS not good to him because Naomi's husband dies and not only just Naomi's husband died but Naomi's two sons died and she's left with only her two daughter-in-laws Orpah and Ruth and Naomi the Bible said I love how it goes now kind of run out of time so I'm in assuming it's in there but all of a sudden somebody come to town Moab one day came down to the world one day and they said have you heard have you heard heard what there's bread now in Israel what man the sun's been shining and the rains been coming right and the things are just right harvest is coming in and there's plenty of food up in Israel and they only heard that God had visited Israel and the elements said daughter-in-laws Orpah and Ruth I'm going back to where I come from and Moab's not been good to me I'm going back to where I've come from and those two daughter-in-law said we'll go with you but old Naomi turned around and said daughter-in-laws let me reason with you for a little bit let me talk to you just a little bit let me let you hear something for a little bit why would you want to go with me why if I had if I got married tonight and I conceived a child in my womb too would you hang around and wait for them to be born who's to say if it would be a boy or not would you wait around I'm - oh she said I'm just she says let me let me talk to you about reason let me let your ear hear about reason the reason you know what Orpah heard that and she said you're exactly right you're exactly right if I waited on you and had probably been away twenty years and and and and and then he'd have to decide if he wanted me to her and she just puckered up and she gave him a real big she gave Naomi a kiss by she turned back she walked in back to Moab back to her gods but the Bible said Ruth claimed time how in the world can you hear one message and one person gives a kiss goodbye and another person puts a death grip on it that's where faith comes in that's where people are either lost or they're saved because sometimes reason can tell you it's over this thing's a joke there's nothing to this I'm gonna give this church a kiss and I'm walking out the door while others can go through the same thing you've went through and may I add maybe even a little bit more but they don't hear that inside they get a death grip because you told me about a god of the Ark of the Covenant out she just walked down the road she found her field and she just Brittany she got over in that field and she started picking up and she started early that morning in about noontime they spread a big table out and he they had all kind of food for the servants they had all kind of food for the laborers but not for the not for the welfare Reaper people they didn't they didn't do that and all sudden guess who shows up that fella bun name of Boaz shows up hobo ash shows up and he's looking out over cuz that's Boaz field there he's looking out over his field and and they're eating luncheon he says wait a minute boys what we meant was who's that who's that woman over there who's that who's that woman right right right over there right over there who's that who's that woman right over there they said oh that's that's Ruth the more Vitus she came home with Naomi that's Ruth and they listen to what they said listen to what they said they said she started early this morning and said she only went in the house one time she only she only left the field one time to take a break and said she's been here she's been here ever ever since she's been here you know I got put on hold while most I'm but because she had a death grip on her faith she ends up in Boaz's field but she not only ends up in Boaz's field she ends up getting Bo asses attention because she gave him something to talk about they said that woman's been here since early morning and since she only went in the house for just a few minutes and she'd been working all day long and Boaz said girl let me talk to you girl let me talk to you said I want you to know that I won't give you protection I'm gonna tell all the young boys to stay away from you and girl let me tell you something I'm gonna give you a place I don't want you going to any other field I want you staying in my field and girl I'm gonna give you some provisions I'll give you protection I have give you a place and now I'm don't give you some provision when you are thirsty come right over here to this bucket and drink from this bucket and then she says that I got on way out of time but she say what in the world did I ever do to have all this favor I'm so
