With every song, y'all have ministered tonight. The theme has been the spirit of the Lord is here. From the very first song, the spirit of the Lord is here. And it's had something to do with trading sorrow for joy. And I certainly believe tonight that God has done his part. that the spirit of the Lord is here. But it's up to us tonight. Why don't you just do some trading right now? Come on. Before I read my text, would you just give him some love right now? Come on. Would you just give him some praise right now? Your voice is important. Your praise is important to the father. Oh, give him praise. Give him praise right now. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you. praise team tonight. If you have your Bibles, turn with me to Deuteronomy chapter 6 and verse number one very quickly. And I want to welcome everybody. And I want to say this evening, I am absolutely overwhelmed at the great crowd of people that's here tonight because as pastor, I know the great crowd of people that are not here tonight. All right? And and so uh you know I'm in the prayer room and it's one of those times when I open that side door at about 7:29 that I look out and say, "Well, you know what, man? There's a great there's a great crowd here tonight." But you know, if it was just you and I and the Lord, it'd still be a good crowd, wouldn't it? >> It'd still It'd still be a good good crowd. And I uh I feel compelled tonight uh to welcome everyone. We have a lot of our saints that are on a vacation time, but they tell me, some of them say, "We we kind of rearrange our schedule so we can go back to the hotel room and we can turn the web on." So, could we welcome And we have a vast Oh, we have a vast audience of people that watch FAC on a regular basis. Could we just could we just put our hands together and welcome our our our saints and those that Thank you, Lord. Get on home. get on home. And and I know I have to say something about this. I know I've got to say something about this and I'm going to say it the right way, but um the carpenter, you know, we travel in a tribe. We we we travel in a tribe. We're just about the carpenter carpenter Hammond Ericson family. Uh we're about to get to the point to where we can get discounted tickets places. You know, we could we get group ratings when we go places. So this summer, uh, first lady wanted to have, she said, "I'm going to have time with the grandkids, just the grands. I want to have time. Let's just do something with the grands." Well, between, uh, between brother Ericson's, uh, schedule and he is in Indiana tonight. And between, uh, brother Nolan Carpenter's schedule, uh, they're in Mexico uh, this evening. And between brother Hammond, it's a miracle he's here tonight. between all of these different we we just said, you know, hey, we we just we can't get it all together. And Sister Carpenter said, "Well, we're going to have a girl's vacation." I said, "I thought we didn't believe in that." She said, "Well, it's different. It's it's different." So, I'm I'm a little bit all all of the ladies in our lives and all the grandkids are gone. They're they're enjoying some time off and uh they're doing a little vacay. And I was I was a little hesitant about brother Perry about saying something that us men are left here. And I thought, Lord, if I just tell that, you know, this goes out on the internet and if if if I just tell that the guys are here, we may get some Jezebel after us or something, you know. And uh and I tell you what, if you're Jezebel and you're after me, come to my house. my mother-in-law will answer the door. All right. And uh so I didn't know how. So, Sister David, that's the best I can do tonight. All right. I just want church family to know where everybody's at tonight. We love our family. Can't wait to get them all back get them all back home. How many is How many is with me tonight? I can't wait for a couple more weeks to get by and get all the vacation and get back. I know the kids are going to hate me right now, but I can't wait for school to start back up and get back in the habit. Okay, let's read our script text. Deuteronomy 6 and1. Are you ready? >> Now, these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments which the Lord your God commanded to teach you that you might do them in the land whether you go to possess it. So, we're about to hear the first commandment. Are you right? Are you ready? We're about to hear the first commandment. Everybody say the first. >> Verse four. Here, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. And thou shalt worship the Lord our thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words which I command, somebody say command. >> These words which I command thee this day shall be in thine heart. I want to teach tonight. I want to teach tonight on this subject. One God, our foundation. One God, our foundation. Would you say it with me tonight? Everybody, every be great if everybody said it. >> One God. >> Father, I love you tonight. I ask you to anoint my lips of play that I may speak the eternal word to your precious people tonight. Lord, may we grow grow strong in the truth, Lord. God, be up on First Apostolic Church. God, make us a lighthouse for truth, Lord. God, make us a beacon in Blunt Blunt County for the truth of your word. We'll give you praise and honor and glory. In Jesus' name we all pray and everybody said, "Amen." >> You may be seated tonight. Thank you so very much for standing. One God, our foundation. We heard from the Old Testament. We heard from the Old Testament, one God. And uh the Old Testament is the perfect place to go to start a doctrine or the perfect place to go to start studying a doctrine. So, we go to the Old Testament when we're going to talk about and teach about one God. We go to the Old Testament and we have in Deuteronomy 6 and4 a commandment here, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. And I certainly enjoyed brother Lang Sunday night. And I certainly enjoyed what he had to say Sunday morning about this verse of scripture. He said, "Hear, O Israel. The Lord our God is one." Because he he said they had seen a lot of false gods. And it was time for them to hear, and faith cometh by hearing. And I I really enjoyed that. But now go to the book of Mark in the New Testament. The book of Mark, chapter 12, and verse number 28. And we not only go from Deuteronomy to Mark, but you do realize that we go we go many hundreds of years. There's many hundreds of years from Deuteronomy to the book of Mark. So there there there's many hundreds of years here. So in Mark 12 and verse number 28, one of the scribes came and having heard them reasoning together, perceived that he, this is Jesus, had answered them well, asked him. So there Jesus is in a crowd of of of lawyers and Pharisees and scribes and educated people and they're asking him questions and he's just firing the answers back to them. And there's a scribe that stood there and and observed and listened to him and he he he formed the opinion that you have answered. You have answered well. And then he asked Jesus a question in verse 28 and he answered them well. He asked them, here's the question, which is the first commandment of all? Which is the first commandment of all? Jesus answered him, the first of all the commandments is here, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soul, with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. This is the first commandment. Now, the what I want you to make a point here. What I want you to make a mental note. If you're writing, write it down. Hundreds of years did not change the fact that our God is one. >> Hundreds of years did not change the fact. It was the first commandment in Deuteronomy 6. And when Jesus was asked which is the first of all the commandments, he once again time did not change truth. This is what you got to realize. Time does not change the eternal word of our God doesn't change. A lot of things change with time but not truth. So tonight, let me just say this and I studied this and I I had one set of notes. I had one set of notes over here. And and one of the reasons that I I I'd like to really keep pushing and praying that that that we we we have people that come to church on Wednesday night and Sunday is because sometimes we can't get all the subject in in one lesson. And and then when you go from Wednesday all the way to the next Wednesday, sometimes we forget about what we heard a week ago. So, I may go back into this, Lord willing, uh, on Sunday morning, but I had a whole set of notes. But before I dive into all the scriptures that emphatically state, our God is one. God is referred to in the scripture as the holy one. Not one place in the Bible do you ever hear God referred to as the holy two or the holy three. He is always referred to as the holy one. But before I go into numerous scriptures that state that there is only one God and three manifestations of that one God. Scripture. And I and I have the notes. I can show you the notes that that I've written that there's only one God and that there is three manifestations of this one God. He is the father of all creation. He is the son of redemption. And this one God is the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost in the church today. One God, three manifestations. Not one God in three persons. Not one God in three persons. Nowhere in the Bible does it teach one God in three persons. Nowhere in the Bible does it say there are three persons and they are separate. They are co-equal and they are co-eternal. Not one scripture states that Jesus was the eternal son of God. There's not one scripture that says that Jesus Christ is the eternal son of God. Not only that, there is not one scripture that states that he is God the son. Doesn't state that he is God the son. He is called the son of God. But he is never called in scripture God the son. So tonight as I studied and I had it all laid out to start in in John 4:24, God is a spirit. I was going to tell you he's omnipresent. I'm going to tell you that I became overwhelmed today that the objective of tonight's Bible study should be one God is our foundation. You take one God out of this church and we cease to be a church. >> It is our foundation of all foundations. It's not it's not some it's not we're saying the same thing. It's not tomato tomato tomato. It's not peacon pecan. It is simply this. There is only one god and he manifested himself as the father of creation, the son of redemption and the holy ghost in the church. There is not one god made up of three separate distinct persons. It is it is our it IS OUR FOUNDATION. BUT NOT ONLY IS IT OUR FOUNDATION, it is our mission to fill a city with the message that there is only one God and three manifestations. It is our mission. It is our drive. IT IS OUR passion because there are a lot of people that are believing the error of a doctrine that came about in the second, third, and fourth century. As a matter of fact, do a little research on a man called Tertullian. He is the first man, and you could you can you can fact check me on this if you'd like. Just don't do it right now. Okay? Tertullan is the first man in history that used the word trinity. He's the first man. He's the first man. As a matter of fact, as a matter of fact, it was the second century at 200 years, 200 years after the church was established on the doctrine of here, O Israel, the Lord our God. I guess if God had an Israel, here, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. I imagine that the church that he bought with the blood, matter of fact, if he bought a people with the blood of a lamb and he turned around and he said, "I'm gonna give you a first commandment." And that is here, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. I imagine the blood that he shed that was his own blood that he would turn around to the church and say to the church here, O church, the Lord our God is one Lord. It's your first commandment. Now, Tertullian Tortullian was the first man to use the word trinity, but in some of his writings, and you can find this, brother brother Hammond, you can find this. Tortullian even admitted in his writings that he was in the minority. All right? He wrote and he said, "My belief is the minority. I am the minority." And then he referred to people that were holding on to Deuteronomy 6:4 as the simpleminded. He said the simple-minded who are the majority want to hold to Deuteronomy 6:4 that he's only one. So see even then now we're we're we're sometime past uh what Tortullian introduced and today it is turned around. Those of us that believe the Bible that there's only one God and three manifestations find ourselves in the minority. But that's okay. God has never used minority or majority to fulfill his will. He could defeat a Goliath with one David. He can save an entire, you know, how he SAVED THE ENTIRE, YOU KNOW, WE'RE HERE TONIGHT. YOU KNOW WHY WE'RE HERE TONIGHT? Eight people obeyed the plan of God AND BUILT AN ARK. And we're here. When Noah was building the ark, he was the minority. He was the minor. He was laughed at. He was scoffed at. He was mocked at because he was preaching that a flood was coming and he was building this massive boat. But when the floods came and the water began to rise, Noah walked off of that boat, the majority church, let us not look at numbers and decide what we're going to believe. God has never used THE MINOR MAJORITY TO FULFILL HIS WILL. WE MAY BE THE MINORITY, BUT LITTLE AS MUCH WHEN GOD IS IN IT. IT IS OUR MISSION. IT is our mission. This fundamental truth, this foundational truth, this foundational truth, hear me tonight. This foundational truth, it is absolutely non-negotiable. >> It's non-negotiable. >> We will not negotiate >> with this precious truth because you TAKE THIS TRUTH OUT OF THE CHURCH, >> we cease to be the church. As >> a matter of fact, you take this truth out of your heart and I'm going to tell you what you lose. You lose your passion. >> Said, you lose your passion. We are living in the Bible belt. All right? Matter of fact, Mville is not the Bible belt. It is the Bible belt buckle. All right? As a matter of fact, I have never met one person here in Blunt County that has admitted, "I'm a sinner. I'm lost." But I have met a lot of people that have shook a hand, nodded a head, or signed a church card that said they were saved. But when you would begin to show them the word of God, they would begin to say, "Well, you you know, I'm not born again after all. I don't have the Holy Ghost after all. I've not been baptized." Think about how many people we HAVE REBAPTIZED. BECAUSE THAT'S OUR MISSION. >> THAT'S OUR FOUNDATION. WE ARE A Jesus name church. I wish you'd give the Lord a hand right now. That is our foundational truth. It is absolutely non-negotiable. It is it is it is our absolute truth. Well, how important is foundations? How important is foundations? Psalms 11 and three. Just bear with me. We're going to go through a lot of scripture. Psalms 11 and3. Listen to the writer. If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? And you know the answer to that? Nothing. If we have no foundation, there's nothing that we can do. You see, when the writer wrote this, he is referencing God's established order for society. Aren't you thankful tonight for the foundation of justice? Aren't you thankful tonight for the foundation of law and order? I want you to know something tonight. I appreciate living in a country, in a county, in a city that is still has the foundation of law and order. >> That's right. You You don't like it. Move out west >> where they say, "Oh, we're going to let everybody have a summer of love." What does that mean? They're going to burn places down. >> What's it mean? Well, listen. Here in the United States of America, entire city blocks are off limits to police officers. Oh, just let them do whatever they want to do there. Just let them do you. I'm going to tell you something. There's where chaos rules. There's where there's murder. There's theft. There's all kind of evil works because there is no foundation. You You got to thank God tonight. Come on, church. You got to thank God tonight that you're living in a in a place that has the foundation. Well, let's go on. Psalm 75 and three. I'm going to read a lot of scripture. Psalm 75 and three. The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved. They melt. God says, I bear up the pillars of it. Cila God says that wicked man is melting away while I've got the pillars of the earth. He Psalms 82 and verse number five. I just want to prove the fact of how important a foundation is. Psalms 82 and5 they know not neither will they understand. They walk on in darkness. It's a sinful man. All the foundations of the earth are out of course. Now let me just say this to you tonight. Let me say this to you tonight. We should care less what the world says about foundations. You'll never be saved if you're caring what the world says. If the word of God says it, the old bumper sticker didn't have it exactly right. The old bumper sticker used to say, "God said it, I believe it, and it's so." Well, it's almost right, but it's not. So, God said it, it's so. >> Doesn't matter whether I believe it or not. >> If God spoke it, it's so whether I believe it or not. Now, I'm blessed if I will believe it. I'm blessed if I will obey it, but I'm cursed if I don't. So, you see, you got to get in your mind. You got to get in your mind tonight very quickly. Doesn't matter what the what doesn't matter what the world says about foundations. It doesn't matter what the world says about the scripture. It matters what scripture says about scripture. Again, one last verse of scripture. Ezekiel chapter 30, verse number four. These verses are proving when things get out of order, there's no foundation. Listen to this. Ezekiel 30 and verse number four. And the sword shall come upon Egypt and great pain shall be in Ethiopia when the slain shall fall in Egypt and they shall take away her multitude. Look at this. Her foundations shall be broken down. You see that? all these scriptures, there's chaos that reigns when there is no foundation. It's chaotic. It's a chaotic scene in a city. Isn't any great wonder Isn't any great wonder that the Bible places tremendous emphasis on the foundation of Solomon's temple. Now, listen to this. Now, the Bible, Brother White, places, and I could say Brother White, Brother White, because there there's two sets of them right here. Brother White, Brother White. Both of them nodded their head. I'm talking to all four of you right now. All right. But there's great emphasis that's placed on the foundation of Solomon's temple. Great, great emphasis is laid upon it. Now, in order to study this out tonight and to see the great emphasis, see you, you may not realize this, but this building, you may not know this, but this building was the first building in Blunt County that fell under a code of having a foundation that is for an earthquake. If there is an earthquake, this building was built first one in Blunt County like this. Underneath underneath the floor is big steel rods, big steel rods. And these rods would run from one side of this building to the other every so many feet. And then when the rods would have to overlap because you couldn't get them long, you couldn't just get them in one size, there's a steel plate and welders were out here and they were welding these rods to these plates in case this building ever has this area ever has a massive earthquake. This building is designed underneath it to keep it from collapsing to keep to keep the building from coming from coming apart there. And and you don't see that. And and and I believe that when we we start talking about a spiritual foundation, it's kind of like it's kind of like, you know, I I wish he was talking about getting out of my trial and wish he was talking about something. Well, let me tell you, the the your purpose in life is not getting out of your trial. Your purpose in life is to be a witness for the truth. >> It's a passion. It's a passion. So, let's go and let's let's look at Solomon as they build the temple. It it starts in First Kings chapter 5 verse number 17. If you're with me, say amen. >> If you're not, don't say anything. First Kings chapter 5 and verse 17. And the king commanded, and they brought they brought great stones, costly stones, and hued stones to lay the foundation of the house. and Solomon's builders and Hyram's builders did hue them and the stone quarers. So they prepared timber and stones to be to build the house. Now what do we learn from these verses? They had great stones and we learned another thing. They were what? Costly. All right. They were great stones and they were costly. Now go to chapter seven of first kings chapter 7 and verse number nine. We're going to continue the about about Solomon's the temple here and the foundation. First Kings 7:9. All these were of here it is again. What kind of stones is it? >> Costly. Well, there's a cost to this foundation. Costly stones. according to the measures of hued stones sawed with saws within and without even the foundation unto the coping and so on the outside toward the great wall. Now let me tell you what that is. He said they they they they cut these massive rocks and and the measurement that'll be in the next verse. These massive rocks which was 8t tall was 8t tall. Some of them 15t long and some of them just 12 feet long, but 8t high. They cut them with saws and then they buffed these stones down. They they buffed them down because they were going into the foundation. But listen to this. They not only buffed them down on the side that would be showing, but they buffed them down on what could not be seen. Why? Because this is God's house. This is God's house. So they they went to great effort. They buffed them down on both sides. Verse 10. And the foundation was of here's that word again. What is that word? And the foundation was >> costly stones. Even great stones. Stones of 10 cubits and stones of eight cubits. And above where? Look at verse 11. Here it is again. And above where? What? Costly stones. and the measures of huge stones and cedars. Now, what's what's the Bible? What's God trying to tell us? Well, God's trying to tell us something. God's trying to tell us that to get ready because the Old Testament is like a school teacher. It's kind of it you you'll never understand you'll never understand algebra until you first learn arithmetic. If you don't have learn arithmetic, you you're really going to get confused with algebra. All right? And so God is trying to teach us in the Old Testament arithmetic. He's trying to teach us very simple. He's saying, "I want you to pay attention to the details of the of of Solomon's temple." Well, we know something happened with Solomon's temple, didn't it? Uh they they didn't serve God like they should serve God. And because of that, Solomon's temple, the temple of the Lord was destroyed. It was destroyed there. And some years later, and here's our next verse. Some years later under a man named Ezra, Nehemiah, they come back and they begin to rebuild the temple. Ezra chapter 3 verse number six. I want you to follow this real close. From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto the Lord. But the foundation of the temple of the Lord was not yet laid. That is important right there. That is important. They begin to offer burnt offerings. They begin to worship. They begin to sacrifice. But the Bible wants to add, but they did not have a foundation. They were worshiping with no foundation. And hear me tonight, worship without foundation does not change anyone's life. There's a lot of, you know, you know, used to Pentecostals, apostolics were the only people raising their hands and waving their hands and dancing. And right now in religion, just about everybody's doing what we do. All right? But worship, I want to say it again, worship without foundations will never change your life. It is the foundation that brings change. And so Ezra just injects here that they had worship but they did not have change in behavior. They did not have the foundations. Now Ezra 3 and 10 they continue. And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, they set the priest in their apparel with trumpets and the Levites the son of Asap with symbols to praise the Lord. After the ordinance of King David, David, king of Israel, they sang together by chorus in praising and giving thanks unto the Lord because he is good. His mercy endureth forever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout. And when they praised the Lord, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid. Look at this. God's trying to tell us something. When they got ready to rebuild Solomon's temple and they got ready to lay the foundation, it was so important that they said, "Priest, go get your robes on." They said, "Levites, go get your instruments." They said, "People, gather around and let's get to singing and let's get to praising." Why? Because the foundation was about to be laid in the house of God. Listen to verse number 12. But many of the priests and Levites and sheep of the fathers who were ancient men that had seen the first house, they had seen Solomon's house. When the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, they wept with a loud voice, and many shouted aloud for joy. Now, here it is. Here it is. The reason they cried was not the size of the foundation, but the reason they cried is they remember seeing the glory of God coming down. And they begin to cry when they saw Israel being restored. They saw Israel coming back to their God. They saw Israel coming back. And some of the ancient men and women begin to cry. But people that had never seen it before, the young people that had never seen it before, THEY BEGIN TO SHOUT AND THEY BEGIN TO WORSHIP GOD. SO ON THAT DAY, there was a mixture. There was weeping and they were shouting. There was weeping. It was the people that had seen the glory before and they were glad to see it return. And that there were those that had seen it for the very first time. I believe Thursday night at Strong Tower, we had a move of God at the Clayton Center that many it was their first time to see a move of God like we had there that night. It was a tremendous move of God. It was a fantastic move of God. And there were young people that said there WERE YOUNG PEOPLE SHOUTING BECAUSE THEY SAID, "WE'VE NEVER seen it this way before." But there was some ancient guys like me and Elder Ericson that were there. And we stood and we be to weep and we begin to REJOICE AS WE SAW HUNDREDS OF YOUNG people running around and shouting and praising God because we had seen it before. God keep First Apostolic Church in that HOLY BALANCE. THOSE OF US that have SEEN THE GLORY BEFORE AND THOSE THAT IT'S THEIR FIRST TIME TO EXPERIENCE THE GLORY OF GOD. I LOVE IT WHEN THEY GET BAPTIZED. I LOVE IT WHEN THEY TALK IN TONGUES. I LOVE IT WHEN THEY COME BECAUSE I'VE SEEN IT BEFORE. THIS THIS THIS PRECIOUS MAN DOWN HERE ON THE FRONT ROW WORSHIPING GOD TONIGHT AND PRAISING GOD. I LOOKED OVER and I SAID, "SIR, WERE YOU THE ONE BAPTIZED SUNDAY?" HE SAID, "I WAS. I WAS THE ONE BAPTIZED SUNDAY. I'M REJOICING TONIGHT a little bit more. NOT BECAUSE HE GOT BAPTIZED SUNDAY, BUT BECAUSE HE SHOWS UP ON A WEDNESDAY NIGHT. BECAUSE IT'S JUST NOT GO DO IT AND GET OUT OF HERE. It's go do it and begin to grow. Come on. The foundation. The foundation. The foundation. When it goes on, turn with me to the book of Hagi chapter 2 verse number 18. Hagi chapter 2 verse number 18. Somebody say, "Praise the Lord." Heihi 2 and13 or excuse me 2 and 18. Hei 2 and 18. It's the same thing. They're they're they're they're in the process here. And he he says in 8 verse 18 he says consider now from say this next word this day. It's very important that you remember in the scripture reading he said consider, take it to heart, consider, mull on it, think about it, consider. He uses the word, does he not use the word consider? He said, mull on it. Consider it. Look at it. Examine it. Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and 20th day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the Lord's temple was laid. How does he end that verse? It's there for a reason, church. It's there for a reason. Hegy eye is saying your life is about to change. Things are about to change in your life. Why? He said, just consider the day that you laid the foundation of the house of God. Mark the day. Consider the day. Mull over it. Think about it. Because this is the day that things are going to change. Look at verse 19. A question is asked, "Is the seed yet in the barn?" And the answer to that is no. We have planted the seed and we're waiting with anticipation to see what grows. But if but if but if things are as usual when we had no foundation and we had no temple. We sowed much and it came to little. We did a lot of sewing but it we never got a good crop. But things are different now. You still with me church? Things are different now. Things are different now. Why? We've laid the foundation of the house of God. And then God said, "Is the seed yet in the barn? Yay, as yet the vine and the fig tree and the pomegranate and the olive tree hath not brought forth from this day." What day? What day? >> The day you've laid the foundation. Consider it. Maul on it. Think about it. Mark it. From this day, will I what? Somebody help me tonight. >> Why? What? What? What am I going to do? I'M GOING TO WHAT? BLESS YOU. DO WE WANT TO BE BLESSED OF GOD? IF I WANT TO BE BLESSED OF GOD, I'VE GOT TO UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF A FOUNDATION. I'VE GOT TO UNDERSTAND THAT GOD SAYS, "YOU ARE MY PEOPLE." And the foundational stone in the church IS THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE. I THINK THAT MAY BE THE REASON GOD JUST KIND OF PULLED ME BACK FROM TELLING you that he's one. And he wants me to preach to YOU TONIGHT AND TELL THE APOSTOLIC CHURCH here in Mville, IT IS OUR DUTY. IT IS OUR BURDEN. IT IS OUR PASSION. WE CANNOT STOP TELLING THIS CITY THAT THERE'S ONLY ONE GOD AND HIS NAME IS JESUS. EVERYBODY YOU GET IN CONVERSATION WITH, TRY TO WEAVE IT AROUND THAT THERE'S ONLY ONE GOD AND HIS NAME IS JESUS. From this day, I will what? I will bless you. Let me see. Let me see. Mr. Clock and I are having a debate here. The parable Jesus gave. Let's go to the New Testament. The parable Jesus gave in Luke chapter 6 verse 46. Luke chapter 6 and verse 46. I hope you cannot relate to this verse. I hope none of us can relate to this verse. Jesus says to a crowd of people in verse 46, "Why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me and heareth my sayings and doeth them, I will show you to whom he is light." He is like a man which built a house, dig deep, laid the foundation on a rock, when the flood arose, and the stream beat veheminently upon that house, and could not shake it. For it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth and doeth not is like a man that without a foundation without a foundation built a house upon the earth against which the stream did be beheeminently and immediately it fell and the ruin of that house was great. You see tonight tonight can I tell you something? Too many too many are building their lives on things that don't matter. >> Let me let me rephrase that. It's not that they don't matter. It's not in the right priority. It's not in the right priority. Oh, oh, Bill Carpenter, it's it's my marriage. It's my family. I I get that. I understand that. I'm not trying to be insensitive to you. But the foundation you need for a healthy marriage is for a husband to have THE FOUNDATION OF CHRIST IN HIMSELF AND A WIFE TO HAVE THE FOUNDATION OF CHRIST IN HERSELF. BECAUSE GETTING MARRIED will not help you. You cannot CHANGE YOUR MATE. YOU CANNOT do that. They have to have their relation. I know I've LOST YOU. I KNOW SOMEBODY SAID, "NO, NO, NO." BUT YOU'RE WRONG. YOU'RE WRONG. >> YOU'RE WRONG BECAUSE YOUR MARRIAGE IS BASED ON ANOTHER AGREEMENT IN that marriage. But marriages, PEOPLE CAN WALK AWAY. THEY CAN GET COLD ON GOD AND THEY CAN WALK AWAY FROM YOU AND THEY CAN BREAK your li your heart. And if your world IS BUILT ON YOUR MARRIAGE, WHEN THAT MAN OR THAT WOMAN WALKS AWAY, YOUR WORLD CRUMBLES. BUT IF YOU'RE FOUNDED UPON A ROCK, YOU CAN GO THROUGH ALL KINDS OF TROUBLE AND MAINTAIN YOUR SANITY. YOU CAN STAGGER INTO THE HOUSE OF GOD. HEARTBROKEN, YES, BUT NOT DESTROYED. THE ENEMY BRINGS A FLOOD AGAINST OH. OH, THE ENEMY BRINGS A FLOOD. THAT'S WHAT WE NEED IS A FOUNDATION. THAT'S WHAT YOU NEED IS A FOUNDATION. YOU DON'T NEED A FOUNDATION. IF EVERYBODY IN the church talks TO ME, I'LL COME TO CHURCH. GET READY TO LEAVE THE CHURCH. If everybody at THE YOUTH GROUPS, EVERYBODY'S ALL HAPPY, SLAPPY, HAPPY, IF EVERYBODY, WE'RE ALL IN A GOOD MOOD, I'LL COME TO THIS CHURCH. BUT THE MOMENT SOMEBODY TALKS ABOUT ME, STABS ME IN THE BACK, DOES ME WRONG, DOESN'T SPEAK TO ME, I'M OUT OF HERE. YOU'RE BUILT ON THE WRONG FOUNDATION. YOU GOT TO BE BUILT ON THE THIS I don't MY GOD, I DON'T COME TO THIS CHURCH TO HAVE FRIENDS. I DON'T COME TO HAVE A SOCIAL GATHERING. I COME TO WORSHIP MY GOD. I COME YES, SIR. >> I COME TO MAGNIFY MY GOD. Come on, TAKE A PRAISE MOMENT RIGHT NOW. I I THINK GOD'S TRYING TO GET SOMETHING IN US TONIGHT. I I'M I'M COMING. GOD HAVE MERCY. GOD HAVE MERCY. GOD HAVE MERCY. >> 42 years. You You You build your life You build your life on your marriage. You build your life on your marriage. 42 years I've seen marriages come to an end because somebody decided they didn't want to be married anymore. And I have seen people stagger in here. And I have seen them weather storms. And I have witnessed and watched God bless their life and God turned things around. But I also witnessed people whose foundation was in their marriage. I've watched them crumble and fall. And the ruin of it is great. I don't I don't I don't want to build my house upon the earth. I don't want to build my house upon a marriage. I don't want to build my spiritual relationship upon a friendship with anybody that will come after that main foundation >> that I dig down deep. Now, let me ask you something. This is this is going to be real deep. Brother Billy, I I hope I hope the people me and you you and I understand this, but the rest of the people, I don't know if they're going to understand or not. It's real deep. You ready? If you dig down to get to the rock, what do you got to dig through and get out of the way? dirt. >> What? I heard it. >> You know the problem is we're trying to put Christ on flesh. >> And flesh will let you down every time. >> We're not to be built on the flesh. We're to be built on the rock. And in order to do that, I got to get flesh out of the way. That's why many of you are here tonight. A lot of you blessed men and women are here tonight that have worked all day long. Some of you's not even had supper yet, but you came to the house of God. Some of you here not feeling well. Some of you are here going through a trial. Some of you just you're JUST IN A DARK PLACE IN YOUR LIFE. BUT YOU KNOW THAT on Wednesday NIGHT AT 7:30, YOU GOT YOU'RE GOING TO GET TO THE HOUSE OF GOD. WHY? BECAUSE YOU'VE GOT THE DIRT OUT OF THE WAY. FLESH, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO DICTATE TO ME ANYMORE. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO TELL ME WHAT I DO. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO CONTROL MY EMO. AREN'T YOU SICK AND TIRED OF YOUR EMOTIONS PICKING YOU UP AND SLAMMING YOU DOWN? ISN'T IT ABOUT TIME THAT YOU BEGIN TO TELL YOUR EMOTIONS NO MORE OF THAT? THE JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH. >> You build your life. You build your life upon the rock. You build your life upon the rock and the rock will keep you from shaking. I'm going to tell you something. The flood, it is not it. Listen. So, hear me everybody. Everybody. Everybody. It's not if the flood comes. Somebody finish it out. >> It's what? >> It's when the flood comes. But can I ask you something? Simple question. Listen to it closely. Do you have flood assurance? I didn't say flood insurance. I said, do you have flood assurance? Blessed assurance. JESUS IS MINE. OH, WHAT a foretaste of glory divine. I'm an heir of salvation. What's that mean? That means this home world is not my home. That means even if death comes to somebody in my family, it would be a flood that would come. But can I tell you, I believe I could kiss the forehead of a deceased family member that was saved, baptized in Jesus NAME, AND FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST, THE LIVING GOD, AND SAY WITH BLESSED ASSURANCE, I'LL MEET YOU IN THE MORNING. I'LL SEE YOU IN THE MORNING. SEE, SAID SOME OF US ARE TOO BUSY TRYING TO HAVE A GOOD MARRIAGE AND TRYING TO HAVE KIDS OR LIVING RIGHT. YOU DONE GOT YOUR MIND OFF THE ULTIMATE GOAL. AND THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS HEAVEN. THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS STREAKS OF GOLD. BROTHER SISTER HOLLAND, WE'RE GOING TO SEE ANDY AGAIN. WE'RE GOING TO SEE HIM AGAIN. WE'RE GOING TO REJOICE WITH HIM AGAIN. Oh God. Oh God. Would you just raise both of your hands and ask God? >> Again. Again. Again. Again. Romans 15:20. Listen to this quickly. I'm gonna go very quick. Romans 15:20. Yay. So I have I have strived to preach the gospel where Christ was not named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation. Here's the point. Preaching and teaching form foundations. So why is he why is he teaching this tonight? I'm gonna tell you why I'm teaching it. We need to be reminded of it. And some people in this room need to be educated to it. >> But you'll never have it if you don't preach it. You reap what you sow. You get what you preach. Preach no god. Preach preach just just oh that doctrine of one god that's just a subject. You know people people are just not interested in hearing that anymore. Go ahead. Let a generation or two come through. You'll lose your power. >> You'll lose your power. Preaching determines foundations. 1 Corinthians 3:10. according to the grace of God which is given unto me. Listen to Paul. As a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation and another builder thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildth thereon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble, every man's work shall be made manifest, for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire, and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. Just quickly, let me tell you something. Paul is saying, Paul is saying, there's not another foundation. There is not another foundation. And I'm going to read some scripture in a moment. There's not another foundation. There's only one foundation. And that foundation is Jesus Christ. It's already been laid. God already came to this earth in the form of a man. Suffered, bled, and died, hung on a cross for the our sins and our justification. Rose again on the third day, ascended into heaven, and left us with the promise. This same Jesus is coming again. Now, that's already settled. But what's not settled? Hear me now. Hear me now. How are you going to build on it? Because Paul lists materials. He listed the materials. He said, "When you want to build," said take heed how you build. Verse 12. Gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble. I guess what we're talking about right now. Now, it speaks of what kind of sacrifice are you willing to make for the foundation? Gold, precious stones, silver, very costly. Very costly. I won't tell you it's not. It's very costly. Or wood, hay, stubble. Not not costly at all. Does it? Does it really cost you? Does it really cost you anything? This speaks of what are you willing to sacrifice for this foundation? Hear me tonight, church. Please hear me. What are you WILLING TO SACRIFICE? WHAT ARE YOU WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO sacrifice to be on this foundation? Are you willing to sacrifice prayer time at home? ARE YOU WILLING TO SACRIFICE TIME TO COME BY THE CHURCH AND SIGN IN FOR PRAYER? Are you willing to are you willing to sacrifice faithful church attendance Sunday mornings, Sunday night, Wednesday evenings? Are you ready? Are you ready to come out from AMONG THEM AND BE SEPARATE? Because listen to this. Let me read this. 2 Corinthians chapter 11. 2 Corinthians chapter 11 verse number 1-4. Listen to this really close. Are you willing? What are you willing to pay? Because listen to me. Please listen. Please listen to me. You're going to lose it if you don't. You're going to lose it if you don't. What are you willing to sacrifice to be on this foundation? gold, silver, precious stones, things that fire can only purify or wood, hay, stubble, things that fire can consume. What are you willing to pay? What are you willing? What are you willing to give? How much are you willing to give? I'm not talking about money tonight. I'm not talking about money tonight. I'M TALKING ABOUT YOUR LIFE. HOW MUCH OF THIS ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE? Do you only know him on Wednesday night? And this is one of the things, and we're not even a big church. I don't even want to say that. But one of the things with growth in the church is it can become a social gathering. It can become a social gathering. I don't want it to become a social gathering. Is this a place that you only think of God in Wednesday night, Sunday morning, Sunday night? If you come the rest of the week, the rest of the week, you're living your life. Well, let me let me show you. 2 Corinthians chap 11 verse 1-4. Listen to Paul. Paul said, "Would to God you would bear with me a little in my folly. Indeed, bear with me." He here's what he's saying. He's saying, "I'm I'm I'm about to talk to you and I need you to bear with me because I'm going to use a word here. FOR I AM JEALOUS over you with A GODLY JEALOUSY. FOR I HAVE INSPECT you as A CHASTEED VIRGIN TO CHRIST. BUT I FEAR LEST BY ANY MEANS AS THE SERPENT BEGAL EVE THROUGH HIS SUBILITY. So your mind should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. Here's verse four. I want you to hear it. For if for if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus whom you have whom we have not preached, or if you receive another spirit which ye have NOT RECEIVED, OR ANOTHER GOSPEL WHICH YE have not accepted, you might bear WELL WITH THEM. HERE'S WHAT HE'S SAYING. I'M JEALOUS OVER YOU. I'M CONCERNED WITH THE WAY YOU'RE LIVING. I HAVE PREACHED TO YOU. PAUL'S TELLING THE CORINTHIANS, "I HAVE PREACHED TO YOU. I HAVE BAPTIZED YOU. I'VE SEEN YOU GET THE HOLY GHOST. I AM JEALOUS BECAUSE I HAVE INSP. YOU ARE THE BRIDE OF CHRIST. I HAVE ENGAGED YOU. I have I I'm jealous over you. I'm concerned about you. I can't help it. I can't help it." You don't ever want to BE UNDER A PASTOR THAT SAYS, "I DON'T CARE HOW YOU LIVE." >> WELL, LISTEN TO ME. I CARE HOW YOU LIVE. I CARE IF YOU'RE HERE SUNDAY MORNING. I CARE IF YOU'RE HERE SUNDAY NIGHT. I CARE IF YOU'RE HERE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT. IT BOTHERS ME WHEN YOU'RE NOT. IT BOTHERS ME WHEN YOU START DRESSING LIKE THE WORLD. IT BOTHERS ME WHEN YOU GET OUT OF THE CHOIR. IT BOTHERS ME WHEN YOU WON'T YOU USED TO COME DOWN TO THE ALTAR, BUT YOU WON'T EVEN COME DOWN ANYMORE. IT BOTHERS ME. I CAN'T HELP IT. IT BOTHERS ME. God help people that go to a place where the preacher could care less how you live. But you know what it is? Paul revealed it because somebody came preaching another Jesus. And uh see, you preach another Jesus. Look at the three things here. Please look at them. You preach another Jesus, you get another spirit. Notice it's a little S. It's not a capital S. You don't get the Holy Spirit. You do get another spirit. And after you get another spirit, you get another gospel. You see the the the problem is when we start preaching the foundation. You see Jesus is Emmanuel. God manifested in the flesh. In the beginning was the word. The word was with God and the word was God. And the word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we beheld his glory, the glory of the as of the only begotten of the father, full of grace and truth. Hear me now. In Jesus dwelleth the fullness of the godhead bodily, AND GOD WAS MANIFESTED IN THE FLESH. AND JESUS SAID, "I AM ALPHA AND OMEGA, the beginning and the ending." AND JESUS SAID, "I AM THAT I AM. I AM IN BODILY FORM WHAT YOU HEARD GOD SPEAK THROUGH A BURNING BUSH. I AM THE ALMIGHTY GOD. BUT HEAR ME, HEAR ME. WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA. DON'T DON'T DON'T START. DON'T START. YOU'RE RUNNING MY TIME. DON'T START. Because you've got them doors AND YOU FIND SOMEBODY ELSE THAT'S GOING TO SAY, "I GOT ANOTHER JESUS. He's not God. He's God manifested in the flesh, but he's Jehovah Jr. He's the second person of a threeperson Godhead. That's that's that's that that's who he is. And you hear another you hear another Jesus. And it's amazing when you begin to hear another Jesus. These places that preach another Jesus do not preach the essentiality of water baptism in Jesus' name. So they hear another Jesus. AND PAUL SAID, "YOU'LL BEAR WITH THEM." WHY? BECAUSE THEY come preaching an easier Jesus. They come PREACHING A JESUS THAT'S NOT GOING TO COST YOU ANYTHING. YOU CAN DRESS THE WAY YOU WANT TO DRESS. YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. YOU can drink what YOU WANT TO DRINK AS LONG, YOU KNOW, JUST KEEP coming to church and and and and PAYING TITHE AND I'LL PUT YOU AWAY ONE DAY AND SAY A BUNCH OF FLOWERY WORDS ABOUT YOU. BUT I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I DON'T WANT THAT FOUNDATION. I WANT THE REAL JESUS. I WANT THE REAL HOLY SPIRIT. I WANT THE REAL GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST. ARE YOU READY? ARE YOU READY? ARE YOU READY FOR THE real Oh, Jesus. God help me. Are you ready for the real? I'm going to tell you them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them dudes preaching another Jesus and ANOTHER SPIRIT ANOTHER GOSPEL THEY WON'T PREACH this right here they can't preach ALL THE BIBLE THEY WON'T PREACH all the Bible >> they won't preach to YOU DEUTERONOMY 22:5 THE WOMAN SHALL NOT WEAR that which pertainth unto a man neither shall a man put on a woman's garment for all that do so AN ABOMINATION OF THE LORD THEY WON'T preach that scripture there they won't preach 1 Corinthians 11:14 DOES NOT EVEN nature itself teach you that if A MAN HAVE LONG HAIR, IT IS A SHAME UNTO HIM. BUT IF A WOMAN HAVE LONG HAIR, IT IS A GLORY TO HER FOR HER HAIR IS GIVEN HER FOR A COVERING. I GOT NEWS FOR YOU. THE OTHER GUYS THAT ARE PREACHING ANOTHER JESUS AND ANOTHER SPIRIT AND ANOTHER GOSPEL, THEY WON'T PREACH THAT TO YOU. BUT IT'S STILL IN THE BOOK. IT'S STILL IN THE FOUNDATION. IT'S STILL HERE. IT'S STILL IN THE BOOK. COME ON, STAND WITH ME RIGHT NOW. Stand with me right now. I do care how you live. I'M JEALOUS OVER YOU. I'm jealous over. >> I don't want to be surprised when people get cold on God and backslide. They find them another Jesus. Oh, I'm happier than I've ever been. Got them chains broke off me. Got that legalism broke. I got them chains broke. It tickles me to death. They didn't wear any chains here, >> but they'll go somewhere else and start wearing much chains and post and say, "I broke them chains." Honey, it looks like you put them on. >> I am jealous of you. And if you go to hell, you're going to go to hell over me saying you ought to worship God. And if you go to hell, if you're lost, if you never come back here, you're going to go to hell knowing that in the daytime I come in this auditorium and I start calling names out of those that are getting cold on God. You see, and it might be a hint. Somebody says, "Hey, I was at church the other day and Brother Carpenter called your name out." First off, y'all be very thankful for that. >> Y'all be very thankful. Y don't GET MAD. DON'T CALL ME THAT. WHAT ARE YOU DOING PRAYING FOR ME? I TELL YOU WHAT I'M DOING. I'M JEALOUS OVER YOU. YOU'VE NOT BEEN WORSHIPING GOD. I BAPTIZED YOU. YOU JUMPED AROUND LIKE A FISH OUT OF WATER. YOU'VE BEEN SPINNING IN THE ALTAR, BUT NOW YOU'RE FAR FROM GOD. I'M JEALOUS. I I WANT TO TELL YOU, >> don't don't go that way. I'm I'm jealous over you. Paul said, "What are you doing saying you're jealous?" If Paul could say he's jealous, I'm gonna come right around his shoes and say, "I'm gonna tell you something." He said, "Lest Satan as he tempted Eve." You know what? Follow me now. And I I promise you I'm out. I'm out almost. You know what? Satan was full of questions. Questions. Questions. Questions. Questions. Questions. Questions. Can I tell all the young people tonight, if you have questions, please come see me. If somebody I read these verses of scripture and the the guy that preaches another Jesus is going to explain those away and say, "Well, that's not for us today and we don't have to do this." But listen, he said if a woman put on that which pertaining to a man, it is an abomination. Abominations don't change if it may if it if it was an abomination back then because remember what I started with tonight. Time does not erase the SCRIPTURE HERE. OH ISRAEL, THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD. JESUS, WHAT IS THE GREAT COMMANDMENT HERE? OH ISRAEL, THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD. QUESTION, QUESTION, QUESTION. THERE'S NOTHING WRONG. There's nothing wrong with having questions, but you don't want to talk to a snake. >> Number one, Eve. Number one, Eve, you ought to have been tipped off. Snakes don't talk. There's voices that shouldn't be talking in your life. You got questions about holiness. You got questions about baptism. You got a question about the thief on the cross. You got a question. You got to come ask somebody. Don't stay out there. Don't troll social media >> and try to find your answer because there's no doubt. There's no doubt. If the internet trollers were were listening tonight, they're already typing legalism. legalis dead cult cult cult legalism cult. But you know what we got to do? And I am sick and tired of this and I'm preaching this everywhere I go. WE PREACHERS NEED TO BOW UP WITH A BACKBONE AND PREACH THE WORD OF GOD. >> REGARDLESS OF WHAT SOMEBODY'S GOING TO SAY OR SOMEBODY'S GOING TO DO OR SOMEBODY'S GOING TO THINK, WE GOT A WORLD GOING TO HELL AND WE'RE BOWING OUR KNEES TO THESE PEOPLE. I SAY NOT. I SAY LOUD. I SAY PREACH THE WORD. I SAY PREACH IT. I SAY SHOUT IT. I I I SAY PREACH THE WORD. Preach the word. Brother Hammond. Brother Hammond, you you said it so beautifully tonight. You you followed something. But could we all I want to have prayer just for about two or three minutes tonight. We got some things we need to pray about this evening. We got some things I want us to pray for the Hog family. I want us to pray for the hog family tonight. You say, "Brother Carpenter, Brother Carpenter, come on. Come on down, church. Come on. Come on down. Come on. Come on. Unless you're following another Jesus." Come on down. Come on down. Boy, I got you on that one, didn't I? Said, "Bill Carpenter, you mentioned the shutins about every service. Sister Thorp, Brother Kirby, Brother, and Sister Lawless, Bill Burkett, Sister Lee, Roland, Gloria, Xander. Can you mention that every s you know I do? I do. You know why? Hell is working on their minds. I did you hear what I said? Let me tell you something. If time goes on, all of us are going to get to the place we can't come to church. >> I'm going to tell you what, it'll be the last thing in the world they take away. But I'm going to come as long as I got Brother Cooper. I'm going to come as long as I got breath. I'm going to come as long as I can walk. But you know what? Hell's working on these shutins. One of the reasons I mentioned their names, I hope they haven't taken us off the air already. You know why? because hell's telling them they forgot about you. Everybody knows you. You're not even important. But I've had so many of them say, "Thank you for calling my name. Thank you for calling my name." What about the Hog family tonight? Could we Could we pray? Could Could Could Could Could Could Could Could Could Could Could Could we just pray for the Hog family right now? Could we pray for Roland and Gloria Zender right now?
