a few moments tonight just a few moments tonight won't talk to the church mark chapter 1 verse number 35 mark 1 and verse number 35 thank you Jesus sweet Holy Ghost and in the morning rising up a great wild before day he went out and departed into a solitary place and their praise Jesus rising up great while before day went out and departed into a solitary place and there he prayed you'll have to give me a few moments to explain my message I don't want to preach for a few moments tonight deposit a little word in your heart the habit the habit of making your bed the habit of making your bed does it seem like much does it does it seem like much a low groan went over the youth Department of the church the habit of making your bed let's see although we love you you know what I just asked you tonight to help me to feed the sheep and just ask you tonight God we are we are pregnant with souls y'all this church is pregnant with all kinds of possibilities God we have entered into a time of harvest we have fought a lot of battles we have been faithful through a lot of seasons God you are about to begin things in this church that is absolutely going to blow our minds what you're going to do father I ask you tonight to give me the wisdom knowledge the anointing touch my voice tonight Lord that I may deliver what I feel you give me Jesus I love you Jesus name we pray amen you may be seated the habit of the habit of making your bed speaking to brother Osburn a few days ago and he recommended me he recommended a book for me to look at he said brother carpenter I am reading an unusual book right now that is written by a Navy SEAL this special special few that can go through all the rigorous training to become a seal and he said I'm reading a book and he said I thought about you and he said I just thought I'm going to tell brother carpenter about this book and of course immediately went on and got it on he book and it's written by a Navy SEAL and he tells about this ten steps the ten steps to becoming a seal this special group in the military and chapter number one he says if you want to change your world start off by making your bed if you want to change your world start off by making your bed let me read just a little bit out of the book he says the barracks at basic SEAL training is a nondescript three-story building located on the beach in California just 100 yards from the Pacific Ocean there is no air conditioning in the building and at night with the windows open you can hear the tide roll in and the surf pounding against the sand rooms in the barracks are Spartan that just means they're playing in the officers room where I stayed with three other classmates there were four beds a closet to hang your uniforms and nothing else those mornings that I stayed in the barracks I would roll out of my navy rack and immediately begin the process of making my bed it was the first test of the day a day that I knew would be filled with unit with uniform inspections long swims longer runs obstacle courses and a constant harassment from the seal instructors attention shouted the class leader lieutenant junior grade Donald Stewart as the instructor entered the room standing at the foot of the bed I snapped my heels together and stood straight as chief petty officer approached my position the instructor stern and expressionless began the inspection by checking the starch in my green uniform to ensure the eight-sided cover was crisp and correctly blocked moving from top to bottom his eyes looked over every inch of my uniform were the creases in my shirt and trousers aligned was the brass on the belt on the belt shine to a mirror like radiance where my boots polished bright enough so that he could see his fingers in their reflection satisfied that I met the high standard expected of a seal trainee he moved to inspect the bed the bed was a simple was as simple as the room nothing but a steel frame and a single mattress a bottom she covered the mattress and over that was a top sheet a gray wool blanket tucked tightly under the mattress provided warmth from the cool San Diego evenings a second blanket was expertly folded into a rectangle at the foot of the bed a single pillow made by the lighthouse for the blind was centered at the top of the bed and intersected at a 90 degree angle with the blanket at the bottom this was the standard any deviation any deviation from this exacting requirement would be called for me to hit the serve I would be ordered to hit the surf and then roll on the beach roll around on the beach until I was covered from head to toe with wet sand of which I would be referred to all day long by the instructor as his sugar-cookie standing motionless I could see the instructor out of the corner of my eye he looked at my bed bending over he checked the hospital corners and then surveyed the blanket the pillow to ensure they were correctly aligned then reaching into his pocket he pulled out a quarter flipped it into the air several times to ensure that I knew the final test of the bed was coming with one final flip of the quarter flew high into the air and came down on the mattress with a light bounce it jumped several inches off the bed high enough for the instructor to catch it with his hand swinging around to face me the instructor looked me in the eye and Noddy he never said a word making my bed correctly was not going to be an opportunity for praise it was expected of me it was my first task of the day and doing it right was important it demonstrated my discipline it showed my attention to detail and at the end of the day it would be a reminder that I had done something well something to be proud of no matter how small the task he goes on and he talks about 30 years later when the twin towers came down in New York City the Pentagon was struck and brave Americans died in died in an airplane over Pennsylvania he says at the time of the attack I was recuperating in my home from a serious parachute accident a hospital bed had been wheeled into my government quarters I spent most of the day lying on my back trying to recover I wanted out of that bed more than anything else like every other seal I longed to be with my fellow warriors in the fight when I was finally well enough to lift myself unaided from the bed the first thing the first thing I did when I could get out of the bed the first thing I did was to pull the sheets tight and adjust the pillow and make sure the hospital bed looked presentable to all those who entered my my health my home it was my way of showing that I had conquered the injury and was moving forward with my life within four weeks of 9/11 I was transferred to the White House where I spent the next two years in the newly formed Office of combating terrorism by October 2003 I was in Iraq at our makeshift headquarters on the Baghdad airfield for the first few months we slept on army cots nevertheless I would wake every morning roll up my sleeping bag and place the pillow at the head of the cot and I got ready for the next day in December of 2003 US forces captured Saddam Hussein he was held in confinement during which time we kept him in a small room he also slept on an army cot but with the luxury of sheets and a blanket once a day I would visit Saddam to ensure my soldiers were properly caring for him I noticed with some sense of amusement that Saddam Hussein never made his bed the covers were always crumpled at the foot of his cot and he rarely seemed inclined to straighten it he goes on and says that what helped him through long days he says to be a Navy SEAL and to serve in the military you must understand that your day goes something like this in battle soldiers die families grieve your days are long and filled with anxious moments somewhere you have to search for a little solace you have to search for a little comfort at the end of the day he says I found my comfort no matter what day I went through at the end of the day I found my comfort that I had at least completed one task and that I had made my bed that might not sound like much to you but it's in seal training that you have to learn early how to complete a task can't go through the day not feeling like you have completed a task there has to be something noteworthy you do in your life that regardless of our days and boy haven't we all had some real days in our regardless of some days it's comforting to know when we can start our day like Jesus did and get up before the Sun and find a solitary place and there begin to pray because my friend that is a seed that you can sew there's something about sowing prayer of the morning there is something about a completed task of the morning there is something about knowing that it will be prayer that will get you through whatever comes your way it will be prayer you see this got to be something to this Navy ceiling there's got to be something to Jesus Matt mark 1:35 he got up early before it was daylight and he made his way out out of the house a betrayal to a solitary place there he made his bed there he completed a task there he had the inspection something about the morning Ecclesiastes mentions two mornings he cleese yes teas chapter 10 and verse number 16 tells about a generation that you would put that verse on the screen for me please ask these 10 and verse number 4 that 16 please chapter 10 verse 16 woe to thee O Lamb when thy King is a child and thy Prince's eat in the morning Solomon is a dress a generation that thought their day could not begin without a feast they were a spoiled generation aristocrats young men and young women born with a silver spoon in their mouths they never knew hard work they were born in the luxury of the mighty and famous the rich and the famous so the way they started their days they started their days off feasting of the morning Solomon would give no to this and the Holy Ghost would have it written how immature that it is when your king is a child and when the princes start off their days by feasting I was going to make I was going to make an analogy about this but I don't know how I don't know how acid factual truth it would be but I think that most birthday parties are held in the evenings of course unless you're at Disney but we even as a culture understand something mornings are not made for parties mornings are made for charting the course of our day mornings are made for setting our sails in the right direction I submit to you how we begin our day will determine greatly how we end our day I submit to you tonight Church how we begin our day will be how our day goes it will be how our day ends oh friend I want to be in the spiritual SEAL training and I want to follow the steps of Jesus and I want to get up in the morning and I want to show some see into a day and as I begin to sow the seed today that little bit of seed sowing of the morning will go a long way throughout the day you harvest some good things in the day I'm promising this if you'll start your day off with prayer if you'll start your day off with reading the scripture if you'll start your day off with giving God some praise thank you Lord for waking me up this morning thank you Lord for starting me on my way thank you Lord for your goodness and mercy I promise you tonight that if you sow some seeds of prayer Bible reading and praise you'll have a harvest of a glorious day if you believe that would you say men denied such a day why is this man devil II of Solomon spoke about two mornings woe to any group whose king is a child and whose Prince's feast of the mornings I mean if you start off feasting of the morning what does the evening bring nothing but drunkenness but he spoke in chapter 11 of Ecclesiastes verse number 6 he spoken another group and oh I want to fall in this group because in Ecclesiastes chapter 11 verse number 6 he said in the morning say that with me in the morning in the morning he said so thy seed and in the evening with hold not thy hand your hand begins in the mornings planting seed for the day but no one plant seed in vain for if I shall plant seed in the morning I shall have a hand of expectancy of the evening the man said the wise man said in the morning it's not the time for feasting it's not the time for merriment it's not the time indulge your flesh the morning is meant for seed sowing oh how different our lives would be if we would learn the habit of making our beds oh how different things would go through the day I wonder I wonder tonight if families would not be happier if they did not get they got up in the morning instead of just rushing to alarm clocks and rushing into bathrooms to get ready I wonder if families before they came out of their rooms with so a few minutes of asking God to please help me today please help me Jesus please be with me today can I get a witness in the house or is this too far-fetched for the 21st century I believe we need to learn the habits of making our babies so your seed in the morning it's all brother Carter I don't feel like praying in the morning I don't either as a matter of fact I feel like I don't have enough sleep I don't either this doesn't feel like praying in the morning I'm with you also but you see if we can ever become disciplined enough because to be in the seal you have to have discipline o sissies don't make it through the seal training the weak in spirit don't make it through the seal training oh no friend you see a lot of us if we had spent all that time on our uniform and making sure that a quarter would bounce high enough for the instructor to catch it the first time he looked at us and walked away and didn't blow a trumpet in one of those Mizzou things well one of those times that we didn't get celebrated we'd be stopping there but you see if you want to see if you want to get a hardness that you've never gotten before you need to start sowing some things you've never sung before it's early I'm busy there's not a lot of people around me oftentimes don't feel like my prayers going past the ceiling is this any good you're making your bed it's a matter of fact it's a matter of fact turn with me to first Corinthians chapter 15 verse number 35 now 1st Corinthians 15 35 is an interesting chapter because there are some people that are asking too many questions about what Kevin's going to be like and they it asks so many questions that some of them had even said it's not even going to happen and so Paul is really addressing Cimmerian mature Christians and he says but some man will say how are the dead raised up and with what body do they come next mercy please now fool that which thou sawest is not quickened except to die he said you're asking questions when you ought to be looking at the process he said you're wondering what we're going to look like in him and you're wondering how we're going to be resurrected and you're wondering all these things and he said you just need to understand that in order for all of that to happen the seed has got the first guy there's got to be a death of the see if there's no death of the seed that it is not quickened made alive accept it die but I like the next verse i like the next verse and that which thou sawest now so it's not that body that shall be but bare grain it may be chance of wheat or of some other grain but God giveth it a body as it had pleased him and to every seed his own body now watch what he's saying here what you plant doesn't look like what you harvest it's a matter of fact what a glorious body we're going to get over there it's not old-fashioned we're going to get a new body over there we're going to get a new body over there now I can go in and tell out of speculations but I can just tell you you take an old ugly piece of seed I've never I've never had somebody and say look how beautiful these tomato seeds are look how beautiful these are they don't know nobody's ever brought me a bag of tomato seeds and said look how beautiful they are nobody does that but I have had a lot of people come and take those seeds those little ugly black looking seeds put them in the ground that seed guys and that tomato begins to come up that that vine comes up and those beautiful luscious red delicious Tomatoes begin to come but they first came from the sea from the seed can I tell you in the morning it's ugly in the morning it's undesirable in the mornings not the time in the morning you don't you know it's it's not Church it's not the choir it's not the preacher it's not the youth group it's me and Jesus and early morning but if I'll learn how to make my bed of the morning if I'll learn how to plant my seed in the morning I may be planting a fuzzy prayer of Oh God just help us today but you know what I make here I may get a miracle working God that comes down at 12 noon and causes a drunk driver to go the other way I make it a lot of miraculous things oh my god I make a lot of things in my life Oh Rhonda listen to this listen to this for years your sister went through the ugly midweek Wednesday of not putting a bite of food in her mouth she went through Wednesday we all knew everybody knew we'd all go to lunch on Wednesday Mama's fasting on Wednesday there were people that would come into town she held true to that fasting she was fasting for her sister to come to God Rhonda I wish you'd just stand up and walk what would you stand up right here just stand up right here oh my god in the morning so your seed and in the evening with oh not my hand I've come here tonight to tell somebody that you need to get in a habit of making your man because God's going to do some great things for you if you learn how to make your man Oh David David you and me here David you wouldn't be here since the carpenter got the fasting for this one and now she come in but sure the added blessing David come on up here right now because ladies men baptized filled with the Holy Ghost I got to tell somebody tonight it's time to start making your man it's time to start making your man it's not time for feasting it's time for fasting it's not time to wake up to Fox News it's time to wake up to the King of Kings and the Lord of lords come on I believe it's in the house come on I believe it's in the house somebody's gonna make up the bed I believe I believe some I believe some lost husbands are gonna come into church in 2019 and 2020 I believe some of my children are coming back because somebody so your seed in the morning so your seed in the morning suddenly it's ugly now I tell you that's my message oh you know you know it was one of them SEALs that put the bullet between Osama bin Laden which one was it the one that made his man see we get our minds on guys and helicopters Naza know how to shoot I will tell you they wouldn't know how to shoot they wouldn't know how to me give someone until they first learned how to make up their bed they my god some of y'all want to be camp-meeting preachers some of y'all want to be missionaries some of you kids are wanting to be great people in God I won't tell you where it starts don't ask me hello I pray don't ask me how long I study don't ask me what I did I'm just made I'm back I just made my bed if you can't make your bed you ain't gonna get nothing and evening you just gotta make you man shut up I'm on fire y'all I'm a higher yeah my momma my muffin miss your bed make you man make your man make your bed in the morning show your seeds in the evening so you seen so your scene in the morning so your scene in the morning pray pray so your scene god save Johnny y'all same Sally god save the neighbors God use me as a witness so so your see bring the black spider bag let cancers fall off let us get your reports Charlie sadly chuckling it's ugly it's nerd it's bending down it's wedding see come on do it do it do it do it do it oh come on holy God come on it's ugly it's early it's grueling nobody applauds you nobody says nice and bad nobody says nice uniform nobody says that totally in the morning in the morning sadly it's ugly Masha's something I mean he's got a sibling in this house it's not saved how many of you want to rond a story you don't get around a story unless you're willing to have the ugliness of your body wanting to eat come on honey ministers are coming into town come on you could let's just put it off to tomorrow no no my mother-in-law's here tonight my mother-in-law got in the church but didn't have the revelation of holiness she would tell me time after time again she would say hi Kenny when you're preaching on holiness outward holiness she said please don't ever think I'm offended she said I I just don't see it I just don't Steve I just don't see it you know what I think that's a pretty good spirit don't you the Lord led me to fast the Lord put me on the fast and was it a plan fast it was just through I told such carbon the Lord has led me to fast it's ugly it's ugly what's your body goes through thick and extended fast is ugly remember going to the hospital to pray for somebody and just the turn of my head I got extremely nauseated and there beside my car beside the hospital I begin to vomit blood what's coming out it's ugly it's ugly Sunday come around my mother-in-law that has never asked to see me in my office she came in the office and she said I need to see you for a few moments and we sit down she said I was in prayer this week said I was praying for my children Ron Robin Roger stops praying for them to come to God come to church see Kenny God spoke to me and he said why do you want them to come to this church you don't believe what they teach why would they want to come here somewhere that you don't even believe what they teach she said it hit her like that she went from the top of her head to the sober soles of her feet telling me how how she would align her life to holiness when she said that what she was going to stop doing and start doing that spirit and the only way I can tell you if you've ever been led too fast the only way I can tell you you don't know when people can say when you're gonna eat you don't know you don't know but when my mother-in-law when my mother-in-law said I'm gonna stop doing this and I'm gonna stop wearing that and I'm gonna start doing this and I'm gonna submit myself to your pastoral care when she said that literally that burden the fasting just kind of started lifting up off of me it lifted off of me and when she left the room the spirit had lifted off of me and I called my wife and I said I know now why I went on a fast I went on a fast so that God would give your mother a revelation would give your mother the revelation of holiness the revelation of why we do what we do you know maybe some of you all don't see some holiness in this church because you've never went to the ugly prayer room of the Moore and crucified your flesh maybe you're trying to feast in the morning how many want that how many want a child to come home boy I sure do like the seals I sure do like them I've read enough about them to know that this country has been spared many more 9/11 attacks because of that elite group entire countries now are ruled by the people because a group of men started their training horrible dictators have been overturned democracy has been established because a group of men that started off making their bed Satan is a horrible dictator he rules and reigns over the lives of our family but could I enlist some spiritual apostolic seals tonight more change I'm gonna learn how to make my bed I'm gonna learn how to make my bed come on before we go home tonight let's commit ourselves to prayer right now oh god I love you Jesus no I love you Jesus come on us rededicate ourselves back to prayer come on we've now been praying the way we should we've not had prayer the way we should Lord forgive us for proudest days prayerless weeks y'all forgive me O God for letting up on my prayer life Lord God but I'll seal it tonight Lord as the Sun Goes Down on this I'll begin in the morning Lord Halle rise got a while before its day Lord I'll get up before the alarm clock I'll get up I'll get up before everything else I'll so the ugly seeds of prayer in my life gone oh Jesus come on me and come on men and women and I come on youth group tonight how many will commit with me to get up in the morning early roll out of the bed and begin to make your bed spiritually oh god I love you oh god I need you oh god please help me today y'all please help me Lord God I don't know what I may encounter throughout my day I don't know what news may come my way I don't know what situations may come my way god help me to make my bed help me Lord I have one completed task under my belt hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah is there anybody here in this room tonight that wants to get baptized in Jesus name is anyone here tonight that's come for baptism you want to be baptized in Jesus name tonight we have clothes we have everything that you need tonight all we need is your willingness to raise your hand right now Church I know this is an unusual message tonight make you better make you dad make your bed I miss gonna make their bed in the morning I'm gonna make my bed in the morning I'm gonna make my brother Shane had a family come in the church today it was severe bull evidently you've been making your bed because they came in the church I'm and his wife said y'all used to have Bible studies together said they'd build a house up on a mountain hard to get to huh yeah they came in said they just passing by so why don't we go in there they said we retired of religion we tired of religion can I tell you when I gave the older call they made their way down the aisle it was praising God and worshiping God somebody's been making their man oh how they knew you somebody been making them in please please everybody church everybody get up in the morning make your bed I talking about I'm not well make that one to warn your wife it may give her a heart attack make up your spiritual bed make it god bless you love everybody here shake hands hug next be friendly go to the global grounds and eat something go
