well remain standing with me if you're not already standing praise god the bible says somebody just say the bible says boy doesn't that settle it doesn't that settle it when the bible says the bible says that praise waited for thee o god in zion the church is it any wonder it's not a head scratcher while we gather together and we begin to worship and praise god and the next thing you know the atmosphere changes and those that have struggled are now victorious and those that are wondering will they ever be healed have got a little bit of faith just to try again you know what praise has been waiting on you lord lord we did this all for you lord this is all about you lord i feel sorry for poor churches that try to please the palate of people well i don't like this style of music and i don't like that style of music and i don't like these instruments and i don't like the volume i gotta give you i've got to give you breaking news today it's not for you did i say that kind enough it's not for you it's for him he deserves the handclap he deserves the footstock he deserves a hand weight he deserves somebody running the aisle somebody doing a holy dance before the lord it's all for him it's all for you master it's all for you lord if they will dance to the god of this world how much more should we dance to you if they will sing to the god of this world and the things of this world how much should we sing wait a minute one more time i think i'll say it again god's been so good to me he's my closest friend i've come too far to turn around now oh thank you lord thank you lord thank you lord we want our ushers to come this morning we're going to pray and i want to make a statement to you today i do not have i do not have faith in prayer i do not have faith in prayer i have faith in the god who answers prayer and he said well brother carpenter yeah you know no no no because there's a lot of times people pray and they will say when they don't get their answer but i prayed that's wonderful but do you have faith in the god who answers prayer now there's a big difference right there i have faith today how about you i have faith today in the god that's given us the simple ability simple ability to talk to him this morning and in the midst of our talking to him because we believe he hears our prayers and he answers our prayers according to his perfect will you have a name today just lift up your hands let's pray right now father lord you know the personal needs that i have in my life god you know the personal needs that we have lord jesus i pray over this church today god i pray over the i pray over god lord every family that's here this morning lord i ask you jesus to walk the aisles of this church today lord you came down with your holy glory god you came down with your glory upon the praise god and you touched our souls the lord this morning father i ask you to meet the needs of the people that are here lord i ask you this morning lord to come down and god as we're praying right now and petitioning you lord to do this or to do that lord that you would hear our prayer god that you would answer our prayer today according to your perfect will today lord i pray for all the needs god that that have been that have been turned in lord by email and god by text messaging and i pray lord of over all the text messages that i have received this day lord the numerous text messages of needs and the lives of people god lord i may not remember all the names but god you're able to remember their names today lord i just ask you that you would touch them this morning god you would move upon them and now father we pray over the giving of tithing and offerings this morning father we thank you i thank you lord for health in my body lord as far as i know i'm a healthy man and god i thank you today for health in my body i thank you father that you've given me the ability to earn an income to feed shelter and clothe my family and father i thank you that through your word you showed me the covenant partnership and finances and i thank you lord as we worship you today by the giving of tithe and offerings there may be meat in your house lord receive them from our grateful hearts in jesus name we pray everybody said in jesus name you may be seated today god bless you for giving us move over come arrested foreign all you want to believe in holy spirit congress foreign yes oh yes lord holy ghost come down you're all we want you're all we want lord you're all come on give him a good hand he deserves a good hand i want i don't i want you to remain standing with me for a moment i'm gonna have you be seated but i'm not gonna read my text right now i'll read it in just a moment or two but we have two precious sisters here in our church that have worked extremely hard and have graduated from universities and colleges yesterday and that would be sister catherine carter and that would be sister stephanie hurst graduated from universities and colleges yesterday and they went there they are furthering their education their they are further the purpose they are furthering their education is to serve apostolic christian academy and to serve our to serve our future to serve our future um online bible college and things that we're going to have and i know there may be many others that have that have graduated and maybe many others that have graduated and i will if if i'm overlooking you this morning uh just just go ahead and pre-forgive me and i will recognize you in a later service but i think it's very commendable and honorable that these two ladies have fathered their education at the cost of thousands of dollars and thousands of hours that they have put into their lives in order to further to further the gospel through first apostolic church and i would like these two ladies to come to the platform accompanied by first lady sister carpenter and we are going to anoint them with oil today we're going to anoint them with oil today uh sister stephanie hurst she's a graduate of apostolic christian academy and she has a burden and desire she will come back here to work isn't that how it should go she's going to come back here to work to help to help us at aca and the tremendous growth sister carter has been such a blessing with the online aca and the future of her ministry will be helping us with the bible college and the bible training center that we want to equip young men and young women to be able to go out into all the world and be be properly be properly prepared amen and so this morning i'm going to anoint them with oil consecrate their callings to god this morning would you help me pray a heartfelt fiery prayer over them today that god's going to use them in a great and a mighty way father in the name of jesus oh god oh god lord i lay my hands god upon stephanie today god as we enter into the arena lord as we enter the arena oh god to fight for the minds of our children lord as we prepare an atmosphere here at aca god as we prepare an atmosphere lord that our children can be brought up in your ways god i lay my hands upon stephanie today lord jesus i lay my hands upon catherine carter today god i thank you that you have brought her through about of cancer god i thank you lord when that disease god lord invaded her body that god you are seeing her through the cancer god and throughout the treatments lord she worked hours god getting her degree lord she worked hours god getting a diploma lord i concentrate her for the years to come i consecrate their men in the streets today lord god i give you praise and honor and glory today in jesus mighty name we pray give the lord a thunderous praise right bachelors sister carter is in her master's program right now and foreign well run me a microphone up here real quick um there you go first lady i'm sorry we've had sister stephanie in our daycare since she's four months old so she went all the way through her absolute christian academy and she went to school just to be a teacher she's a certified teacher about the state of tennessee so that's admirable that she grew up here and she wanted to come back and impart to others sister catherine has her bachelor's in theology and she's already in her master's program so just to advance the kingdom of god so we honor and ask god to continue to annoying them let's give god let's give god some praise this morning and i want you to see how beautiful something is you see how beautiful something is stephanie four months old in our daycare now a certified public school certified she could teach in the public schools but she's teaching at apostolic christian academy sister carter is going for her masters she came in through our online she would probably never have heard of first apostolic church way over there in the tar heel state of north carolina she'd have never heard of fac if it wasn't for a wonderful staff of men and women that many of you don't get to see but they're up there in the uh the room today the broadcast room they're up there making sure that what goes on in here is not only seen in here but it's literally seen around the world would you give aca the daycare the school and would you give our audio technical team would you give them a big hand today thank you all thank you so much thank you so much today just remain standing with me for a moment jermaine standing with me the book of numbers chapter 21 numbers chapter 21 and verse number four we're going to go right into the word of the lord numbers chapter 21 and verse number 4. and they journeyed from mount hor by the way of the red sea to compass the land of edom and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way and the people spake against god and against moses wherefore have you brought us out of egypt to die in the wilderness for there is no bread neither is there any water and our soul lotha this light bread speaking of manna and the lord sent fiery serpents among the people and they bit the people and much people of israel died therefore the people came to moses and said we have sinned for we have spoken against the lord and against thee praying to the lord that he take away the serpents from us and moses prayed for the people and the lord said unto moses make thee a fiery serpent set it up on a pole and it shall come to pass that everyone that is bitten when he looketh upon it shall live and moses made a serpent of brass and put it upon a pole and came to pass that if a serpent had bitten any man when he beheld the serpent of brass he lived he lived first corinthians first corinthians 10 in verse number nine i hope you're looking at that in your bible your paper bible but if you don't have your paper paper bible or electronic bible you can put your attention on the screen first corinthians 10 and 9. neither let us tempt christ as some of them also tempted and were destroyed of serpents neither murmur ye as some of them also murmured and were destroyed of the destroyer now all these things happen unto them for examples and they are written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come today my title goes along with these two precious ladies up here and i simply want to teach today on the classroom the classroom father i thank you today for what we have felt i thank you lord for being lifted above the shadows of this world i thank you lord for these people i thank you for the new families that are moving into first apostolic i thank you for all the hands that i got to shake today and the smiling faces lord come here to first apostolic lord for the next few moments would you anoint the lips of clay that your spirit could enter in and do a creative work in the lives of people we'll give you praise in jesus name we pray amen and amen you may be seated if you have those pictures i'm so so certainly thankful for brother and sister erickson pastor eric's and his sister fallon erickson of their organization their organization of small groups of small groups here at the church and god spoke to sister erickson brother erickson told them we grow larger by going smaller and so a few years ago we they began to organize they begin to organize small groups and if you've never heard of small groups before here at the church or you'd like to be a part of a small group please some see someone in the lobby today behind one of the desks and or come and see somebody from the pastoral team because we can connect you with a small group and uh just about around the clock here almost there's people meeting here i've i've opened doors and went into rooms filled with people and food it's a great time about every small group i've ever went in has food so you know that's got to be the will of god and uh they just have a they have a great time but uh we love we love our spanish-speaking people we love those that have come to this country we love those that speak spanish and we love those hispanic people today that have made first apostolic church apart we love those that are in our in our community today and we have a small group at this time of reaching our spanish-speaking people and brother soto has done such a wonderful job well last night they had pastor ericson you all had a small group and this don't look like a small group to me all right but there they are they they came to global grounds just a great time uh of meeting there they had it was it was down for food and fellowship and just just having a small group that specializes in the spanish-speaking people but the holy ghost fell the holy ghost fell can you imagine that the holy ghost phil give me the next picture here the holy ghost fell and god got to moving on some of them that had gathered there and they started laying hands on them and the holy ghost fell i think we got another picture i mean they're just praying all over that room god is moving and god is touching aren't you thankful to be a part that is right there is really our ultimate goal that that is really our ultimate goal we're going to be setting up to teach english classes and all of that but our ultimate goal is not to teach spanish-speaking people english right there is our ultimate goal amen because when we all get to heaven the bible tells us there'll be many tongues in many languages thank god we'll be able to understand them amen and i'm looking forward to that day well no sooner had that stopped no sooner than that that i got a text message and a call from sister shannon melendez and she said she reminded me i had her brother that just passed away i had performed a wedding for uh bobby and rachel many years ago and bobby of course the last few weeks it passed away very sudden and god has moved on rachel's heart and then about nine o'clock last night this happened give me the next one that's the baptismal pool and we got to baptize rachel a little bit after nine o'clock last night and she came up out of the water speaking in heavenly language i believe there's a revival going on here i believe there's a revival moving throughout first apostolic church but i want to take you today for the next few moments to the classroom to the classroom because our ultimate goal here is not for you to feel a chill bump our ultimate goal here is not for you to feel a warm and fuzzy feeling when you come to first apostolic church our goal is to get the word of god the word of god is the only creative creative power in this world today this world was created by the word of god and our lives are recreated by the hearing and the understanding of the word of god it is not god's will for one man in the church to know god's word it is not god's will for 30 percent of this church to understand god's word it is the will of god that every believer have an understanding of god's word and so today i want to take you to the classroom i want to go to the classroom i use for my text an event an event that happened to the old testament the children of israel have been brought out there are similarities between the children of israel and us they had been brought out of egypt by the by the blood of the lamb and by the spirit of god and went through the red sea which is typifying baptism and they were on their way to a victorious life whereas we are on our way to heaven but along the way along the way the people begin to murmur about the way they begin to murmur about the conditions of the way they begin to murmur they had been taken out of their familiar egyptian slavery mindset and they were in unfamiliar territory they were having to trust and lean on god in egypt pharaoh gave you water in egypt pharaoh fed you but now on the way to canaan or a victorious life they have to learn to trust in the god who delivered them they have to learn and i'm thinking about that old song today uh learning to lean i'm learning to lean i'm learning to lean on jesus and so as they were making their way they uh instead of developing a a spirit of trust toward their deliverer they began to murmur and it started off with god they begin to doubt god really cared for them and after they they murmured against god they started murmuring visibly against moses they began to murmur and say things like uh why did you bring us up did you bring us out of egypt to die here is this the reason that we brought here is to die in the wilderness we we're thirsty and uh we we loathe we absolutely despise this man of stuff that comes down and the bible says that god heard that murmuring and of course i could stop here for a moment and tell us all to be very careful about what we say about life and how good god has been to us be very careful because god heard their murmuring god heard what they said about him and god heard what they said about moses and the lord said say you got it say you got it a little tough say you got a little bad you you don't like this bread that i sent you and you have to depend upon me for water out of a rock say you gotta you you think you got you know sometimes god teaches us a lesson by making things a little bit more difficult in life you think you got it tough god just spoke to fiery serpents he just called all the serpents in he said go down go down and bite the people and the serpents begin to bite and inject poison their fevers begin to burn high they begin to swell up and many of them many of them died there so now they realize we're in trouble because we have murmured against god we're in trouble because we've murmured and so they they they they went to moses the bible said and they went to moses isn't it amazing hard times can have you seeking the person that you once murmured about i mean that moses the mention of his name caused him to get indigestion the side of him he's the guy that come down with the stick and all that and got us out of a good comfortable place in egypt and and this moses they growled when they say this moses but when they're all swollen and they're dying the one they murmured against is now the one that said moses moses pray for us pray for us thank god for a meek leader like moses thank god for moses because moses didn't have the attitude well you deserve what you get moses prayed to god for the people and uh god spoke to moses and he said moses this is going to be the cure this is going to be the cure i want you to make a brass serpent i want you to make out of brass a serpent and i want you to put it on a pole and i want you to put it in the midst of the can i want you to wrap that that brass surfing around a pole and i want you to put it in the midst of the camp and if anyone gets bit by a serpent if they get bit by a serpent if they will come out of their tent and if they'll walk down the middle of the camp and if they will look up now that word there in the hebrew is more than just a glance that word has the deep power of looking at the cause looking at what has caused this it was a moment of repentance it was when they came down and looked at the brazen serpent they had in their mind to remember i murmured against something that i should not have murmured against i complained about something that i should they had to change their mind thus in the classroom today we have the foundation for an essential step in our salvation and in our walk with god and that step is repentance repentance we have to look at our sin and understand it is our sin that has brought us to this moment it is sin that has destroyed my life it is the decisions of sin that i have made now you understand today sin is not a popular subject in churches anymore because we we won't feel good we really don't want people today really don't want a pastor they want a life coach they want a life coach but really the only way you're going to succeed in life is be able to be able to identify sin they had to identify sin and they had to change their minds about sin you'll never come out of a lifestyle that's destructive until you view that lifestyle as destructive he'll never change your life your life will be exactly like it is this time next year just a little worse until you begin to look at sin and say don't blame it don't don't don't don't blame it because that's the blame game today we're living in a world and it's as old as a garden of eden adam what'd you do that woman you gave me god eve what did you do that snake that you put in here god i'm this way because this i'm this way because that and i want to be sympathetic to anybody that's not had a good childhood i'll cry with you i'll help you all that i can but i'm here to tell you today i've got the answer to get you out of that i've got the answer to help you to turn you around today i've got the answer oh i don't want to brother chris holden brother chris would you stand right now over there would you stand i'm not gonna i'm not i'm not going to share your story today because you you're going to share it here uh one day i'm going to have you share your story but he's the story and number one there's no such thing as an unwanted child but his life all he knew through childhood was being adopted out to this family and that family and this family in the in in the uh in the child uh custody uh places that they would move him around to listening to listen to this man talk about his lifestyle if any man would have a right to say i'm xyz because of the way i was unloved and sent around chris holden does if any man could blame society i'm this way chris holden could but this young man because he looked at the cross one day he repented of whatever sin he had he repented of it he was born again god got inside of that young man's life and he is now a extremely successful businessman and business owner today not even think you better holden but he didn't get there playing the blame game he didn't get there feeling sorry for himself you see today until we are able to look at sin and identify this is the problem with my life this is the problem i can't repent over my father not raising me right but i can repent over what's happened to me i can't repent over a grandfather that was an alcoholic and a father that was i can't repent over those things but i can personally look the serpent in the eye today now why was the serpent he said interesting read he'll turn with me to john chapter 3. john chapter 3 verse number one millions of people today church have given up on church because they tried it but they actually tried religion they actually tried religion and religion will never change you religion will try to change the outside but religion does not change the inside of a man we are not reformed by the outside in we are reborn by the inside out we are not i'm going to say that again what you need today is not better behavior you need a better heart and you can't have a better heart until you look at the serpent and change your mind about the serpent john 3 and 1. there was a man of the pharisees named nicodemus a ruler of the jews now he is a very extremely religious man the same came to jesus by night and said unto him rabbi we know that thou art a teacher come from god for no man can do these miracles that thou doest except god be with him so this religious man comes to jesus and he gives him an endorsement he says we know that you have come for god there may be other sects of the pharisees that that were saying he was a devil but he said i represent the sect of the pharisees that we put our endorsement upon you and we know that you were a man sent from god because no man could do the miracles that you do unless god was with him look at verse 3. jesus answered and said unto him verily verily i say unto you accept a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of god so in other words jesus is saying to him nicodemus you haven't seen anything yet you've not seen anything yet nicodemus you you think you see but you've not seen anything yet you must be born again except a man be born again he cannot enter he cannot see excuse me the kingdom of god you've attended church here any long any time you know that i always make a comment on verse number three when i teach this passage jesus said verily verily he said verily twice verily is our equivalent to saying hey can i talk to you but when you say verily verily you're emphasizing it's almost as if you are raising your voice to say narrow in pay attention to me hey hey i need your attention hey verily verily i say unto thee except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of god nicodemus saith unto him how can a man be born when he is old can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born i personally feel here he is being very sarcastic i believe that that that he is insulted that he is insulted that the lord didn't say in verse number three i am so glad i have the endorsement of the pharisees i am so glad you all have endorsed me but because he did not he didn't do that i personally believe nicodemus is offended and he gives the preposterous statement of what born again could i enter can a man enter his mother's womb and be born a second time and i stop right there and add my commentary to this it's being born in the flesh that makes us a sinner if it would be possible to be born twice by your mother that'd just make you twice the sinner you are can a man enter his mother's womb and be born jesus answered look at verse 5 again what does he say verily verily i say unto thee except a man be born of water and of the spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of god now nicodemus is asking the method how can i be born again how i'm asking the method can i enter my mother's woman be born the second time how can i be born again and jesus shows him the method you were born again of water and of the spirit now some have went to great lengths to say that jesus was not referring to water here some have went to great length and said that it's the the the the the the fluid that is inside of a woman around the baby and they'll say it's it's talking about that but that doesn't make any sense here number one that fluid that fluid that is around a child in in its mother's womb is not water jesus didn't say you have already been born past tense of water now get born of the spirit he's speaking of future tense born of water and of the spirit now notice here he does not say the water the water but he does save the spirit now i i know today you're thinking man i came to church to hear this it's the classroom it's a classroom you'll notice he does not say the water but he does say these spirit and the reason he doesn't say thee water is because water is just universal because i need to go to i need to go to the holy land and be baptized well if that's what you want to do but you'd be baptized right here right well i i think some people say well i want to be i want to be baptized in a river like jesus was baptized in a river flowing water and that baptism full up here is just just a tank full of water one preacher had a great idea he said had a man want to be born where water was running so he just he said man come on to the church he took the stopper out of the baptismal pool and baptized him he said the water's running and said it's we're running out so come on down and get in here but the spirit there's only one spirit there's only one spirit except the man be born of the water of water and of these spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of god that which is born this is your answer nicodemus that which is born to the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit marvel not that i said unto thee ye must be born again don't let it marble not don't don't don't don't don't don't let it just confuse your mind marble not at this wonderful miracle the greatest miracle of all is salvation healing is not the greatest miracle healing is not the greatest miracle thank god there's healing in the church and healing available but healing is not the greatest miracle in the church the greatest miracle in the church is the plan and the salvation that comes with the plan marvel not that i said unto thee you ye must be born again the wind bloweth where it listed that we're there means we're at will where it will now i'm going to tell you something they may be able to predict with a percentage with a percentage rain or snow or sunshine but you won't find them predicting the wind they'll tell you which way it's blowing they'll say oh this is coming down this way well even a hurricane they can't they'll just they'll just track it and they'll say now if it goes this way if it goes that way why only god controls the wind only god controls the wind he says marvel not that i said unto thee you must be born again the wind bloweth where it listed that we're there list of just simply means wherever it will thou here is the sound thereof but can't not tell whence it cometh and whether it goeth so is everyone that is born of the spirit he said nicodemus this birth of the spirit is like this it's like the wind it's like the wind nobody knows where it comes from and nobody knows where it's going the wind has a mind of its own he said but so is everyone that is born of the spirit but watch it follow it closely the only thing you can know about god's spirit and being born again of god's spirit you hear the sound thereof you hear the sound thereof and when you hear the sound thereof you know they have been born of the spirit and thank god in our bible god gave us that sound and that sound is the initial evidence of speaking in an unknown language a heavenly unknown language it happened in acts chapter 2. it happened in acts chapter 8 acts chapter 10 acts chapter 19 god gives that sign and i'm thankful today in the classroom to be able to tell you students brothers and sisters to be able to tell your students today don't let anyone discredit water baptism and don't let anyone discredit spirit baptism when you receive the baptism and born of the spirit there will be a sound that comes out of your mouth and that sound is that unknown term go down to verse number let me read verse 8 again the wind blow it where it listed thou here's the sound thereof but can't not tell when should cometh and whether it goes so is everyone that is mourned again of the spirit go back to that word in the greek brother hammond and verse number eight where it says thou hearst the sound thereof if you can can you all put that are y'all able to put that word i know the uh that the sound thereof the greek word there fanete sound fanete is where we get the word phonics from you hear the language you hear the language thereof you're the sound thereof go to verse 9. nicodemus answered and said unto him how can these things be now you know any educator any teacher has to do this when a student doesn't understand this level you have to keep going down until you get the level that they understand you can't keep teaching if they don't understand the level you're teaching if they're saying i don't understand this then you have to you have to go down a level you have to go down a level if i use the analogy if i if i'm if i'm struggling in 10th grade math the teacher may hand me a ninth grade math book or an eighth grade but the teacher can never help me until i have something to build upon so nicodemus is standing there born of the water born of the spirit sound thereof he says in verse number nine how can these things be jesus answered and said unto him are thou a master of israel and know us not these things in other words he said you study the scripture you you study the scripture did you did you ever read jeremiah did you ever read ezekiel did you ever read the prophets that said that i'm going to give you a clean heart i'm gonna put water on you and put a new spirit in you that was that was things he should have understood stood but here's the problem with religion sometimes people go to their bible just to prove their views and paul said in his writings paul said they they they they wrestle with the scriptures they wrestle with the scripture they twist the scripture they take their views to the bible and then they begin to twist the verse and they begin to twist this take this out of context and that out of context until they give you some kind of conglomeration and say that's what we believe he said how is he you should have known about water jeremiah spoke about it you should have known about water ezekiel spoke about you should have known about spirit ezekiel spoke about it how is it thou art a master in israel and know it not these things verily verily verse 11. it sounds like he's trying to get his attention verily verily i say unto thee we speak that we do know and testify that we have seen and you receive not our witness if i have told you earthly things and you believe not how shall you believe if i tell you of heavenly things he said i tried to break it down to you of water and spirit water and spirit i tried to break it down to you with a natural rebirth verse 13 here it is here's the here's the key listen to jesus and no man had to send it up to heaven but he that came down from heaven even the son of man which is in heaven this is an important verse here because he is saying to you he is saying today you've got to understand me to understand the plan of salvation if you don't know who i am you will never be able to comprehend when when he began when he began to say how can a man be born jesus just kept taking him down to different levels he takes him down to a different level now he's on the level of saying if you just knew who i am if you just knew who you're standing here talking to you've called me rabbi but i'm not a rabbi he that you have thought in your mind i am some religious leader and teacher and prophet and miracle worker but i'm far more than that and then verse 13 he just simply says no man had to send it up to heaven but he that came down from heaven even the son of man which is in heaven you know what he's talking about there he's telling nicodemus that he is almighty god he is saying i am the almighty god as a man i stand here on earth but as god i'm up in heaven as man i'm standing here but as god i came down and i will a sin ask god i am omnipresent i am omnipresent and i am in heaven i'm on earth and in heaven at the same time now that might be a head scratcher but that's the
