how many's ready for some preaching yes sir you're ready for the word today right ready for the word so glad as always to have missionary Nami in the house and brother Nam is so glad to has a missionary of the Philippines and he so glad to always FC's home to him and good to look out and see him today we love you and we appreciate you so much isn't God good is isn't God good God is good God is good today God is good today he's a good God today he's a good god he's a good God now I'm going to read a uh I'm going to read from Mark chapter 4 and verse number two and um I'm going to ask you today to go with me on this Parable but we're going to look at it from a from a different angle we're going to look at it today from a from a from a different different angle this morning Mark chapter 4 and verse number two someone say praise the Lord the Lord man I feel the Lord here today I don't know what you I don't I don't know what you need I don't know what you want um and I don't even know if you have a want or a need other than wanting to serve God but I'm here to tell you today he's here to meet your need he he is here to be adorned and to be praised by you you are important to God you have purpose verse two Jesus taught them many things by Parables and said unto unto unto them in his Doctrine Behold a s went forth went out a SE to seow and it came to pass as he sowed some fell by the wayside and the fouls of the air came and devoured it up some fell on Stony ground where it had not much Earth and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of Earth but when the sun was up it was scorched and and because it had no root it withered away and some fell among thorns and the Thorns grew up and choked it and it yielded no fruit and other fell on good ground and it did yield fruit that sprang up and increased and brought forth some 30 some 60 and some 100 and he said unto them he that had ears to hear Let Him hear and when he was alone they that were about him with the 12 ask of him the parable go to verse 133 they asked of him the meaning of the parable and he said unto them know ye not this Parable and how then will you know all par Parables the swer Seth the word let's pray for a moment let's pray put your Bibles down and let's just ask God to speak to us this morning God Lord Jesus these are your people this is your word and you've called me to preach God you said in your word that if I loved you if I loved you I would feed your sheep Lord these people are valuable to you today God you have a master plan for the lives of every individual that's here today God you know where they're at you've saw their hurt you've seen their tears God you've seen the amount of hopelessness that they believe that they're in but Lord this morning for a few moments if you would anoint your servant that I would be able to enter the hearts of people and imp plant your word I'll give you praise and honor in Jesus mighty name I pray amen and amen God bless you you may be seated today thank you for standing in honor of the reading of the word of God we serve and worship a good God Amen one only must scratch the surface of the Bible and you will soon discover that he is a good god I mean you you just scratch the surface of the Bible you automatically begin you automatically begin to see that he is a good God as a matter of fact brother snitzer and I I'll maybe get you to run with this but I believe that every new convert course should have a first lesson that emphasizes the goodness of God yes sir the goodness of God that as we are taking them from the altars of being born again being birthed we need to plant in their minds he he is a good god he is a good God you just have to scratch the Bible matter of fact let me go ahead and give you my my my uh title for today and uh then I'm going to ask you to look at this from a different angle I want to minister today on the generosity the generosity of the swer the generosity of the sewer now I know many times when we when we look at this Parable we emphasize the seed and we emphasize of soil but we have paid or at least I have most of you great Bible theologians have probably passed this up a long time ago matter of fact many years ago I preached a sermon and God knows how to Humble you and I thought I did a pretty good job at it I thought when I was done I'd done a pretty good job and I thought I'd brought some new thoughts out that the congregation never heard only to be met by wheh headed man that said son I'm so glad to hear you preach that he was about 80 something he said that was one of my first sermons when I was was 16 years old I just want you to know I'm so glad so many of you Bible theologians probably do seen this we talk about the soil we talk about the seed but we haven't really talked much about the sewer we really haven't really de delve into the sewer you you can't scratch the surface of the Bible without seeing that he is and I may ask for a little participation what kind of God is he good what kind of God is he good God he's a he's a good God I I imagine if the athletes and basketball players on the court can look up at the fans you know say come on help me I guess it'd be all right for your preacher to do that too wouldn't it man I wish Tennessee would have won yesterday but let's go on he's a good god scratch the surface of the Bible you find he's good open the Bible to Genesis chapter 1 just follow me let me let me give you these real quick Genesis 1 131 and God saw that everything that he made and behold it was very good the evening and the morning where the first day where the where the evening and the morning where the sixth day you you can't even start the Bible out without finding out that he is a he's a good god well sometime later Deuteronomy chapter 8 verse number 7 for the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land a land of Brooks of waters fountains depths that spring out of the valleys and the hills he takes them to a good land he made a Good Earth and he takes them to a he takes them to a good land Deuteronomy 12:28 observe and hear all these words which I command thee that it might may go well with thee and with thy children after thee forever when thou dust that which is good and right in the sight of the Lord thy God he said now I've created a Good Earth and and uh I have brought you into a good land and now I want you to live after the good word I've given you a good I've given you a good word I heard brother um I heard our uh brother talk this morning uh about about a legacy I heard him talk about about Legacy today here's Nehemiah at the end of his life at the end of his life in Nehemiah chapter 13 brother Josh Weatherly spoke about uh Legacy today Nehemiah 13 verse number 14 listen to Nehemiah remember me oh my God concerning this and wipe not out my good deeds which I have done for the house of my God and for the offices thereof then verse 31 same chapter he carries on he says God don't forget about my good deeds that I've done in your house and I've got news for you Nehemiah God has never forgotten about any good deeds that we have done concerning his name you have forgotten but God hasn't forgotten Nehemiah 13:31 it says he's talking about what he's done for God's house and for the wood offering at times appointed and for the first fruits remember me oh my God for good remember that what the good that I have done but we're not necessarily going to talk about what good we've done we're going to emphasize this morning the goodness of God Psalms Psalm 73 in verse number one truly God is good to Israel even to such as are of a clean heart Psalms 8411 for the Lord God is a son and a shield the Lord will give Grace and Glory watch this now no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly from the Old Testament now the New Testament acts chap 10 verse number 1 38 we're well acquainted with acts 238 let's get acquainted with acts 10:38 how that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power who went about doing and healing all that were oppressed of the devil for God was with him let's read from the book of James this is directed to the church James chapter 1 and verse number 17 every good good and perfect gift every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of Lights with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning look at that from Genesis from Genesis to the end of our Bible we're told repeatedly that our God is a good God I'm going to tell you I'm I'm I'm going to help us today if we can comprehend more of his goodness then we're going to be able to understand how to walk before him God wants us to make it God wants us to go to heaven with him and he has done everything that he could put in our way to assure us a free passageway to Heaven what kind of God are you serving I'm serving a good God today I'm serving a good God here it is 2 Thessalonians Ians 1 verse number 7 here we are at the end of time here we are Paul is telling them and he's telling them in 2 Thessalonians 1:7 listen to these words and to you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty Angels Paul had to write an epistle to the church at thessalonica because the church at thessalonica had believed a rumor and that was that Jesus had returned and they had been left behind Paul had to write a comforting epistle to them telling them he said I those of you that are troubled rest with us in verse number eight he says uh he says when the Lord in verse 7 excuse me he says and to you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty Angels inflaming fire taking Vengeance on them that know not God and that obey o not the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ look at that one verse for a moment it first says these people know not God and because they know not God they obey not the gospel look at the order of that they know not God and because they know not God they obey not the gospel now if we can get people to understand he's a good God they just may be more prone to obey the gospel see what they've heard about God is not correct they've got God as a god of Vengeance and they've got God they've got their men mentality of God but can I tell you today he is a good god he wants what's best for you he would only give you what would be good for you and if we can understand his goodness then we may be more prone to obey the gospel verse n who shall be punished with Everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power when he shall come to be glorified in his Saints and to to be admired in all them that believe because our testimony among you was believed in that day wherefore also we pray also for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling and fulfill all the good pleasure of his goodness and the work of faith and power he said I know you're troubled you've heard a rumor and the rumor is not true I know you don't have any hope because the rumor is false can I tell you false rumors will breed no hope and he's saying you have listened to a false rumor you have no hope but he said in verse 11 I am praying always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling and fulfill what kind of pleasure the good pleasure of his goodness and the work of faith and power that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you and ye in him according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ isn't it amazing that when Paul be to minister to the Thessalonians that he had to say I got to tell you about the goodness of God I want to tell you what God is working in us today is the goodness of God that's why the Plan of Salvation if you will obey it it will change your life you can be living a bad life but if you'll turn your life over to God you'll begin to live a good life how because God is a good let me talk to you about the generosity of the sewer the Wayside soil the Wayside soil is unprepared soil it's ground that's unprepared it's the pathway around the field it was walked on it was hard surfaced it's called Wayside soil it's not prepared it's not ready but look at the generosity of the sewer the Bible says some fail by the wayside some seed fell over by the wayside this is unprepared soil this is soil that's not asking for seed it's not open for seed it's unprepared for seed and then I found out that he did it on purpose he did it to demonstrate the nature and the generosity of the s look at Isaiah 65 Isaiah chapter 65 in verse number one listen to our God speak in Isaiah 65 and one listen to Our God speak I am salt of them that ask not for me I am found listen to our God now I am found of them that sought me not I said behold me behold me unto a nation that was not called by my name do you know that our good God will show up even where he's not invited why he's just a good God he'll show up you see we think God only shows up in our prayer room he does but he also shows up in our lives when we had no intention to call upon him to seek after him he just shows up in our lives what a good God the woman at the well the woman married five times the woman whose life was a wreck she didn't call for Jesus she didn't ask for for him to come ah he just showed up there he just sat on the well what are you waiting on I've often thought about that brother Nolan Jesus sat on the well it says and that was a well sitting on a well there was two waters there one was natural and one was spiritual and the the the Samaritan woman she needed that spiritual water but she didn't ask for him she didn't seek after him he just showed up on the well and when the conversation was over she said come see a man that's told me all I've ever done is this not the Christ notice he says here I have spread out my hands verse two I have spread out my hands all the day long unto a rebellious people which walketh in a way that was not good after their own thoughts you know who he's referring to there where he showed up numerous times brother Namy in the four gospels Jesus showed up numerous times in a place called The Synagogue or the temple it's where the religious people were at it's where the Pharisees and the Sadducees and the religious people were at why did you show up there because I'm a good God I showed up in their synagogues and I showed up in their temples and I stretched out my hands that's a that that stretched out hands in verse number two I've spread out my hands that is a teaching position that that referred to a teaching position of spreading out the hands he said I walked right in to those religious centers that were that were shunning my word but I walked right in among them and I put my hands out and I said these words I said these words in verse two behold me behold me he came one day to the scripture to to the synagogue and he said to him he said search the scripture did he not he said search the scripture for in them you think you have life but these are they which testify of me they they talk about me why go there Jesus because I'm a good god yes sir because I'm a good God let me read verse three of Isaiah chapter 65 verse three he said I appeared to a people that provoked me to anger continually to my face that sacrificed in gardens and burned incense upon altars of brick you know who that was although in that day although in that day there were the Pharisees and the Sadducees that taught in the temple there were also in the land of Israel in that day Canaanite worship which was worship unto Devils there were those even in the land of Israel that worshiped un Devils there were the religious people in Jerusalem but then there were those Canaanite people the the the Israelites that took on the Canaanite ways of worship and they they worshiped he says here they they provoked me to anger they sacrificed in gardens and burned incense upon a brick upon the altars of brick this is a demonic ritual this is a demonic ritual that was taking place look what happened in verse four he's talking about this demonic ritual which remain among the graves in other words this demonic ritual would always either be held or it would lead you to a graveyard it would either be held in the graveyard or it would lead you to a graveyard which remain among the graves and Lodge live in The Monuments that's that's in the graveyards which eat swine's flesh and broth of abominal things in their vessels now what I just describe to you is that demon-possessed man of gadera where did he live he lived among the tombs where did he live he lived close to where swine were feeding can I tell you that man's Mama did not send a prayer request to Jesus and say Jesus on your way to travel would you go by and see my boy he got tied up in devil worship he got tied up in the occult and the next thing you know he lost his mind he he now lives among the tombs he cuts himself he's miserable he lives in The Monuments he lives out by the swine she didn't send him a prayer request nobody told Jesus there's a crazy man over here in gadera he shows up on his own why he is a good god he will let a little seed fall upon the hardest he will let little seed fall upon the hardest of Hearts today he doesn't care he's a good God today he'll touch your heart even when you have no intentions of living for him he'll come by and touch your heart why is that because he is a good god that tear that streamed down your face today when the church begin to worship God that knot in your stomach that Clump in your throat can I tell you what that is today that's not emotions that is the the presence of a good God that just walks right well you you don't know what I did last night don't have to know you don't know what I've got going on my life you don't have to know we serve a good God that just wants to come by come on can you give him some praise right now come on give me give him some praise right now now please notice in the parable what Jesus said by the wayside these are they that fell among the Wayside and guess who shows up immediately huh Satan who shows up immediately Satan now watch this now do you know that Satan would never show up immediately over something that's not valuable the Bible said Satan shows up when not two days days after not a month after Satan knows the value of the word if that word lays there even though it's a hard ground if that word lays there long enough it just might germinate and if it germinates it just may take root and if it takes root it will get better Roots I would rather come now and take the beak and take the seed away than to have to bring a chainsaw out to a tree the devil would rather work right now than any time that's why you got to battle to keep your mind on the word of God he is a good god mute your cell phone this morning put it in your purse get it out of sight today because just as sure as God comes down your Pew and wants to impregnate you with the thought he is a good God Satan wants to say shame on you shame on you that's what what he wants to say he wants to keep you in shame shame on you but listen to me now God wants to come down your Pew today a good God wants to come down your Pew today and not say shame on you he wants to come up down your Pew and say shame off you shame off you shame off you Satan wants to say shame on you God wants to say shame off of you shame up but he's got to do it quick he's got to do it quick he's got to distract you any way that he can Satan cometh immediately Satan you would never come after anything that quick that's not valuable and he would say you're exactly right because if those PE people keep coming to church and those people keep hearing the word of God they're just they're just apt to believe the word of God and if they ever believe the word of God we are in trouble because something will take root Satan comes immediately can I tell you how he comes Satan will do everything he can to discredit God's word he'll do everything that he can he's the voice in your ear that tells you there's nothing to this he's the voice in your ear you see Satan his first issue was not Pride all right let me show you this somebody said well yeah Satan was was full of pride before he got Pride he was discontented with where God placed him can I tell you some people allow the enemy to place a spirit of discontentment in their heart well I just don't you know there just something going on you know ever's something going on in you don't necessarily believe it's God sir don't M say I just feel I I I just feel this discontent right now I just feel you know what when God has got you where you need to be when God has got you where you need to be Satan he's got you exactly where you need to be you need to be in my presence yes sir but he got discontented and when Satan got discontented he got prideful he didn't like the place he was at he didn't like where he was at and so he wanted to go to another place but no one can be like God and so that's his demise Satan was discontented and I'm afraid today I'm fearful today that Satan still places in people's hearts a spirit of discontent discontentment in the inside of them can I tell you this morning if you're struggling with discontentment I'll just there's something going on right now with me you need to look around and you to ask yourself the question am I in a good place am I hearing good things am I seeing the goodness of the Lord am I seeing the goodness of the Lord listen to this today Satan will do one of two things he will either try to get you away from where the word is preached or he will steal he will steal the word out of your heart can I tell you where God wants you today God wants you in a good place God not only wants you in a good place God wants your marriage in a good place and God not only wants you and your marriage in a good place God wants your family in a good place what could be better for your family but to be in the house of God hearing the word of God it's never done us nothing but good and I submit to you that people today that want to talk about the church warp them and their problem in life is that they were brought up in a church that that had all these different standards and all these different Commandments I will submit to you these are people that could not pay the price of obedience they got discontented with where they were at and they left where they were at and it's downhill when you leave where God has got you and you go anywhere other place you are going downhill as for me and my house we're going to serve come on now the church isn't your problem the church isn't your problem the word isn't your problem sin is your problem oh Stony ground oh Satan comes immediately because we serve a good God that even sews on ground that's not even ready let's watch the good God at work in Mark 4:16 and these are they which were swn on Stony ground who when they heard the word immediately received it with gladness and have have no root in themselves and so endure but for a time but afterward when Affliction or persecution arises for the word's sake immediately they are offended these are people they have no self-esteem they have no confidence in themselves they've been raised to hear hurtful words they've been either raised to hear hurtful words such as you're no good you're going to end up in prison you're going to be pregnant before you're married you're going to be in the penitentiary and on and on that they heard they either heard hurtful words or they didn't hear any words at all they are scarred they are beat up they are beat down they grew up again they grew up only hearing shame on you and they never heard shame off you they all they were raised up to hear you're trash you're nothing you're not going to amount to nothing listen to songs listen to songs I had to roll my my window up so help me my righteous God I'm not being holier than thou but I I had my window down at at a at a red light and a car pulled up beside me and I could make out the words of the song and there were women in the car with men in the car and and so degrading to women it was so degrading what the song them little girls in that car just bopping along at that and I thought are you crazy do you hear what this song is calling you you are you crazy you're singing to it I imagine the devil gets a big laugh over that to degrade them and debase them and they sing about it I had to roll my window up I don't want to hear this trash coming into my car but you see we are living in a world that hear that's all they ever hear they hear that they're animals and then they act like animals but I serve a good God this morning you're in a good house this morning I don't know what you've been hearing out there but welcome to the house of God he is a generous we're ministering to congregations today that have no confidence we're ministering to men and women that have no self-esteem we're ministering to men and women that are scarred and battered and beat up we're ministering to all of them but oh if I can just get you acquainted with a good God today a good gospel a good name a good place then you can be in Philippians chapter 4 verse number 12 Paul said I know how to be a based and I know how to abound everywhere in all things I am instructed to be full and to be hungry both to abound and to suffer need Paul said in verse 12 he said I have learned through Christ how to have good days and I've learned how to have bad day sister Hughes I've learned through Christ how to have a good day finding the love of your life but I've learned how to have a bad day having to say goodbye to a brother he said I've learned how to do you see the world they they don't know how to balance life out when you get in church that doesn't mean you're trouble free zone there's still going to be trouble but oh friend when you when you learn where your roots are at then you come to verse 13 I can do do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me oh Hallelujah I don't know if you're here today or you're here today it doesn't matter I've got a root system that's holding me down I can do all things today through Christ Gideon what you doing get in wa what the midianites I'm ducking and hiding I'm going to make some bread here sh don't just discover me Gideon don't just discover me sh don't call my name but now an angel shows up in Judges chapter 6 in verse 12 Gideon is hiding trying to thresh out some wheat to make a loaf of bread would you look it with me in Judges chapter 6 and verse number 12 and the angel of the Lord appeared unto him and said unto him the Lord is with thee thou Mighty Man of Valor you got to be kidding me what talking about me hey Gabriel you got the long man you you need to head on down somewhere else I'm a coward I'm trying to make me two slices of bread have me a jam sandwich I'm going I'm going to jam them together all right you you're not talking to me but can I tell you what God is saying about some of you today you would start chuckling when God begins to say you're not a coward you're not a loser you're not a bunch of trash your life is not over if you just knew what I've got for you I am a good God I know you're hiding to try to make some bread but before it's over with you're going to lead an army of 300 men and you're going to win a mighty Victory h how in the world could that happen because he is a good god today he is a good god today I know who you are but I know what you're going to become oh I praise him today I said well well you just don't know bro carp you you got some folks coming to that church that underneath the surface now notice this that that was sewed on Stony ground meant there was a layer of dirt all right and underneath the layer of dirt was Rock the dirt had enough dirt to germinate but the Rocks kept it from getting root it was the lack of root in their lives that caused them to get offended at the word well real car you just don't know how I was brought up you you just don't know what's under me the Surface well the first thing I want to tell you is this welcome to the house where we are not soil inspectors I am not a soil inspector I am a seed swer and I take after my heavenly father and if he would be a generous seat so so can I amen if he can be one that says hey throw it over there well that's Wayside I don't care something might happen What throw it over there what you don't know what they deal with oh they look good on the surface they drive a good car they wear nice clothes oh they look good on the surface but if you really just knew me I got news for you today I don't really have to know you you need to let him he can go to the root of your problem Jesus can go dig the rocks out of your life if you will stay in the house of God and let the plow of the word come down here it'll get it out rock at a time rock at a time you'll hear young lady you'll hear your treasure so much that you'll forget about being called all those nasty names if you'll stay in the house of God you'll get treated right and you you you'll be able are y'all understanding what I'm saying this morning I am not a I am not a soil inspector and we don't inspect soil around here we just seow seed we just believe that the seed is for everybody we believe it's for who soever will now you know there's a false Doctrine there's a false Doctrine and you it it blow your mind the denominations that believe it it's called predestination now what that means is you either you when you were born you were either born saved or you were born lost and and you blow your mind the denominations that that that the pre that predestination and if you're born saved ain't nothing you can do to be unsaved and if you're born lost well ain't nothing you do to be saved you're predetermined of the father before the heavens before the Earth was he predetermined who was going to be in the land well I'm not really a a deep Greek and Hebrew scholar but when Jesus gave an invitation he used a bunch of little words and put them all together and it goes like this who so ever will let him come if any man come unto the father I will by no means cast him away can I tell you today that you are a candidate for the word of the Living God brother Carpenter do you really believe it could change me I do do you really believe I could be changed I do why I wish somebody give him some praise right now I wish somebody give him some praise right now every drug addict needs the word every immoral person needs the word every messed up individual needs the word needs the word he knew what was underneath he knew what was underneath he knew underneath the surface there were rocks he knew underneath the surface there was abuse he knew underneath the surface you carry things but God says God says can I tell you how strong roots are can I tell you why you need to get some Roots can I tell you how strong they are if you going to plant a tree don't plant it close to your driveway or why I'll tell you why you let that tree take root and them Roots will get up under that driveway and pop that driveway up them cracks that you got in that driveway don't blame the Concrete Finisher for that it's the roots from that tree can I tell you if we can stay in the house of God and get good roots what happened to you years ago God can get down there and start busting that stuff stuff up start cracking that stuff up start making you feel like who you ought to feel like you're a king you're a daughter you're a princess yes sir with God that's who you are then listen to the listen to the seed swerer listen to the seat let me let me let me make this statement right here I'm 63 years old I've been preaching the gospel for about 45 years of my life and this is a statement I'm going to make if I didn't believe the word could change people it can change Sinners and save people if I didn't believe the word could change people I wouldn't be preaching the gospel this long care who you are today don't care if you're brand new here or your 50 years in the church God's word has the power to change you let me tell you about the generous seeso Mark 4: 18 Mark 4 and verse 18 and these are they which are sown among forns such as hear the word and the cares of this of this world the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches and the lust of other things entering in choke the word and it becometh unfruitful Mr seedo C can I call your attention don't you know you're throwing seed among Thorns don't you know that can't you see the Thorns over here don't you know what will happen if you sew the seed among Thorns it'll grow up and the Thorns will choke out the word and it will become unfruitful I do understand what you're saying but I understand also that even people that have got distracted by the cares of this world need to have the seed thrown at them not only are we not so inspectors here we don't give up on anybody here we don't give up on anybody here I've watched people shout the I've watched people shout themselves out of the choir shout themselves out in the Pew shout themselves untied from anything going on here go get them a good good dose of the world in all areas of their life change everything about them but yet they come on back to the house of God and I'm here to tell you today you're in a church that says you're worth sewing the seed too we don't we don't check soil here and we don't give up on people here we have a motto at FB marville as long as there's breath
