praise the lord church so good to see everybody on this beautiful sunday morning in the house of the lord everybody always looks extra good we're in the house of god i don't like being i don't like being late for church and my being my interpretation of late for church is when i don't make it to prayer meeting of the morning i don't like being i don't like being late for church but if there's only one good thing about it there's only one good thing about it i get to see a most pleasant sight when i drive on the parking lot i see families coming in the house of god my eyes tear up because there's nothing any more beautiful and beneficial that you could do for your family if you're here today and you're a husband there's nothing more beneficial that you can do for your family but to make sure they get to church on sunday you're here today and you're a single parent single mom make sure your children get to the house of god on sunday mornings so it's so beautiful so good to see all our guests that are with us today and we would like to take our hands right now and give you an apostolic hand clap offering thank you so much thank you so much thank you so much for being with us today if you have your bibles and return with me to the book of deuteronomy chapter number seven verse number nine thank you choir for blessing us thank you music team for blessing us we are simply blessed today to have extremely talented musicians and singers that sing excellently unto the lord and he's worthy he's worthy of all of our abilities and practices he's worthy of his day thank you so much and um thank you thank you to congregation that comes to church to worship and i thank you for that deuteronomy chapter 7 verse number 9 know therefore that the lord thy god he is god the faithful god who keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations go down to the book go all the way to the last book in the bible the book of revelation revelation chapter 19 verse number 11. this verse tells about the appearance of the lord jesus christ as a great captain of our salvation john said and i saw heaven opened and behold a white horse and he that set up on him was called faithful and true and in righteousness he judge and make war i want to bless you today by the help of god i want to bless you with this subject the god who is faithful the god who is faithful if you have a need today would you just lift your hands up right now if you got a burden today it doesn't have to be a physical issue in your body anybody here today with a burden anybody here today troubled anybody here today that the house of god is your your one place to go and for just a little bit it slips your mind let's just take our troubles to god this morning father in the name of jesus christ we come before you today lord lord i pray god over the needs of your people this morning lord i ask you lord to heal sickness in this church i ask you god to heal our dear sister step and god continue to give us good reports that come from her lord jesus i ask you today to touch brother and sister bryant and the prayer requests that they sent and left on my phone this week god lord i ask you today lord to move across this congregation to the merry crowders that we have that are at home and unable to attend the house of god lord i pray today for those that have suffered great losses the last few weeks lord those like motherly god that said goodbye to a husband oh god i pray for that man that woman that young person today that's carrying a burden maybe self-inflicted or maybe it's a burden of a loved one that's on self-destruct god hear our prayers this morning lord and move upon our situations god for lord i know that while we're praying here that god that you are up to something lord i'll give you praise and honor in the name of jesus christ i pray amen and amen if you believe the lord heard our prayer would you give him a praise right now i believe he heard it i believe he heard it amen you may be seated it is believed brother erickson it is believed that david was inspired to write this psalm as he looked out over an army as he looked out over his enemy it's believed that david looked out over an enemy of many chariots and many soldiers and it's believed that when david looked out over this army this enemy that had come that had come to cast him out of his possession it's believed that david was inspired with this psalm some trust in horses and chariots but we will put our trust in the name of the lord you know today it's not what you see it's the name that you know that makes the difference a lot of folks trust in a lot of different things today but i'm glad to trust in that precious name of jesus the god who is faithful the god who is faithful would you not agree with me this morning that many times when you hear a message on faith or a bible study on faith that most of the time that bible study is addressing our faith toward god you know have faith in god just keep on believing just have faith in god but this bible study this morning is going to focus on the god of faith he is a he is a god of faith as a matter of fact he is a god of love that's one of his attributes and i want you to know that he is a faithful god he is a he is a faithful god this god that we serve his name is jesus this almighty god that we serve this almighty god would would connect himself to his word he would connect himself to his word now the reason we can say the word is eternal is because an eternal god spoke this word so we can say this eternal this eternal word of god but when we begin to to to focus in that just like we say god is love that's an attribute of god god god is love god not only loves but god is love god not only is faithful but god is faith god is faith he is a faithful god i want to just take a few moments and weave this around it's amazing today that the hebrew word for faith along with the greek word for faith has several you not only find it when it says the faithful god you not only you don't only find it when it says a faithful god but you also find the same hebrew word the same greek word when they say things when they say things like he is a god of truth he is a god of truth it's the same hebrew word for faith and although we would see it as two words we would see it as two words it's really not two words because our god is a god of faith he is a faithful god and he is he is a god of truth he is a god of absolutes that's the reason that god doesn't fit into this culture because this culture is away from absolutes it's a way as a matter of fact not only has our culture but even in the days of jesus christ the philosophers studied hard to find out the answer to this question what is truth they studied hard they never could come up with the absolute what is truth that's why you remember the conversation that jesus and pilate had and pilate pilate began to say you know answer us who are you and jesus said i have come to bear witness of the truth that's why pilate responded by saying and what is truth pilate missed it by one word truth is not a what it's a who god is that truth but it's amazing the same hebrew word for faith is the same word that we get for we get for truth this word faithful when referring to god means firmness firmness firmness firmness and the the reason it means firmness is because faith has the the the connotation to it that you can build on it you can build on it it's it's it's it's something firm or it has the connotation that you can lean on it you can lean on it now there's some things you know as well as i do there's some things that are not firm and there's some things that you don't want to lean on but when it comes to our god you can build on him and when it comes to our god you can lean on him our god can handle any load that you want to lean upon him our god our god can be built upon you can build your life upon our god but it not only means firmness and it not only you know not only means firmness but fidelity fidelity god has always remained true to his people god has never left us god has never stepped out on us god has never forsaken us he is a god of fidelity as a matter of fact paul even talked about christians that would step out on god or or lose their faith in god and paul just simply said this even if we deny him he cannot deny himself even if we cease to be faithful if we cease to be faithful god has always remained faithful how many are thankful as you can track your spiritual growth through the years that you know as well as i know that there have been seasons in your life you know as well as i know there have been seasons in your life where you didn't walk as close to god as you should there's seasons in your life that your prayer life was lacking seasons in your life that things that things just wasn't what they should be but somehow you came out of that season just like summer fades into fall and fall fades into winter and winter fades into spring and on and on it goes somehow you found yourself back in an altar refill with the holy ghost talking to god you never you never left the pew you never stopped coming to church but you know that you just got cold and aren't you thankful that during that time you were not as faithful to god as you should be that god remained faithful to you i think he deserves a praise this morning i really do i think he deserves a praise today let's add a little voices to that today i think we ought to we ought to praise him with our voice this morning he is a firm god you can build on him a god of fidelity he'll never step out he'll always be true to you he's steadfast and he's steady he's truth so or isaiah chapter 25 and verse number 1 says oh lord thou art my god i will exalt thee i will praise thy name for thou hast done wonderful things that were wonderful there means miraculous things thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth faithfulness and truth he couples that he couples that together he's a steadfast god he's a steady god would you say that word with me steady he's a steady god how about in the storms of life how about in the storms of life the sailors say it like this steady as she goes steady as she goes do you know that when our world is shaking and sometimes we're even shaking that if we will maintain our faith in our god that he is a god that can bring a steady spirit to us when everything around us is shaking well no no wonder god said to moses at the red sea what did he say to moses stand still be still and know that i'm god i know you hear the rumbling of pharaoh's chariot wheels i know that you see the smoke of his horses coming up to take you back to egypt but god says in that situation to moses stand still know that i am god in the midst of an uncertain life church in the midst of the uncertainty of life may we not be ruled by our fickled emotions may we not be ruled by our up and down mood swings but may we learn how to embrace the god that we serve because the god that we serve is a faithful god you can build on him you can believe in him he can steady you he can wrap his arms around you he can walk you through a courtroom he can walk you through a hospital he can walk you through a funeral home he can walk you through turbulent years of your life our god i believe somebody ought to praise him right now our god do you all remember do you remember this that happened to moses in exodus chapter 17 verse number 10 you remember moses they put him up on top of a hill because the amalekites had attacked the children of israel and and israel and amalekites were doing war they were doing war together moses got on top of the hill and moses lifted up the rod of god and as long as the rod of god was lifted up israel won the victory or won the battle but moses was a man moses was just a man and so moses arms his shoulders began to burn his arms begin to ache and he would let down brother white he would let down the rod and what would happen when he would let down the rod when he would let down the rod the amalekites started winning so a group of men got together and did something so smart they slid a rock up under moses they slid a rock under him and they set him down and then one man got on one side of moses and another man got on the other side of moses and they held up moses's hands but i want you to see something with me exodus 17-10 so joshua did as moses had said and fought with amalek moses aaron and her went up to the top of the hill came to pass when moses held up his hand that israel prevailed and when he let down his hand amalek prevailed but moses hands were heavy and they took a stone and put it up under him and he sat there on and aaron and her stayed up his hands one on the one side and the other on the other side and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun and his hands were steady it's it's mind-blowing but the same hebrew word they use for faith a same hebrew word they use for truth is the same hebrew word they used for steady his hands were steady they were faithful so now we understand that god even though he doesn't deliver us from the storm and we're shaken in the storm we serve a god who is a faithful god that can keep us even steady in the midst of the storm isaiah chapter 33 and verse number 6 the god who is faithful the god who is faithful isaiah 33 verse number 6 and wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability the stability of thy times and strength of salvation the fear of the lord is his treasure and wisdom and knowledge shall be the say that word with me stability shall be the stability of thy times once again the same hebrew word for faith the same hebrew heard for truth the same hebrew word for steady is the exact hebrew word they use for stability what about you but i'm i'm beginning to embrace a god today that's more than just a god that can bring an unexpected miracle my way but he is a god that can walk with me and give me stability stability to be stable not not to stagger but but to be stable in times i'm not going to i'm not going to stagger i've got i've got stability a lot of people get get get injured because their their step isn't stable a lot of people that their steps are not sure and their steps are not just exactly what they should be and they're not stable they're not stable when they walk and so when anything happens they injured by fall but the god who is faithful is a god of truth he is a god of steady and he's even a god that can why he can be your walking cane i said he can be your walking cane sometimes people have to men or women have to use a cane to steady their steps sometimes they use a use a walker to steady their steps and there's absolutely there's absolutely nothing wrong with that they need they need a walker they need something to steady their steps you know what we're all spiritually today if we could god open the eyes i hope the angels see me with a walker today i hope i hope they see me with a walker today because i can't walk like i need to walk without him with me i i can't go the places i need to go because i'll surely stumble i i'll usually stumble and fall but if i can just get a hold of a god that says i'm going to keep you stable i'm going to be i'm going to be your walker i'm going to keep you stable i don't want you to worry when you have to climb up live and i don't want you to worry when you're going down light because i am going to be your stability you ought to give god praise for that this morning i am going to be your stability lamentations chapter 3 and verse number 22 can i tell you that our god is so in love with us that when many people feel like god leaves them between every bad thought and good thought that they have when they have a good thought god's with them in the card i had a bad thought well god just left me i had a good thought god was here i had a good day god was with me had a bad day lost my temper said some things i shouldn't have done did some things i shouldn't do well you know what i hope i can get back to church tomorrow night so god can be with me i don't know about you but i just don't serve that kind of god i don't serve that kind of god i serve the kind of god that stays with you yes even when you lose your temper i serve that same kind of god that yes is with you when you do some things you shouldn't do i serve that same kind of god have my children displeased me you better believe they have at times but when they displeased me did i did i turn around and say they're they're they're not my kids i i they're just not my kids let's go down the courthouse and disinherit them they're not no i never did that and you know i didn't and you didn't either because they're your kids we're god's children we serve a faithful god look at lamentations chapter 3 verse 22 it is of the lord's mercies that we are not consumed i all of us missed a place to say amen you know why you're here today mercy it is of the lord's mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not they are new every morning great is thy faithfulness oh this god who i i mean i preached a lot of messages to you about let's have faith in god let you know let's god's looking at our faith but now i'm going to look at a god who is a god of faithfulness sometimes my faith doesn't do so good but his never wavers you know the main reason well that's first corinthians i gave them the verses let's just go first corinthians chapter one verse number nine new testament first corinthians chapter 1 verse number 9. why don't we read it together first three words of that verse what god is faithful first corinthians 10 13 let's look at this verse first corinthians 10 13 there hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man in other words listen to me stop feeling isolated stop feeling like you're the only one that's ever went through what you're going through you're not the only one we've all been through it we've all been we've all been through something we've all been through it like look like the uh the the the it actually happened in hollywood made a movie about it called black hawk down and it's when they shot that helicopter uh down and and uh the the our men were there and they they they they got our men in a jeep and they were trying to they were trying to to leave the scene of a horrendous battle and they put a driver up front they put a driver up front and they were driving and the enemy shot through the window and shot the uh the driver they pulled him out of the seat and put the other man in drove a few blocks and the enemy shot that driver and and they pulled him out and put another they went all the way through they went all the way through until they had to put a man back in the seat that had been shot of which he complained he said sergeant i've been shot and the sergeant said get in the seat and drive boy we've all been shot so don't tell me that we can't serve god we've all been shot in this building in some way or another we've got a trial we've got a test we've got an issue in life we've had something to happen maybe inflicted or something whatever but you know what just get in there and drive we've all been shot we've just all been shot there have no temptation taken you but such as is common to men but god is i wish you'd say it but god is but god i like that but god is faithful who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which you are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape that you may be able to bear it don't know about you but that verse takes care of all the situations in my life if i'm going through something god knows how much i can take he knows my weight load he knows my frame he knows how much i can take when my when i begin to think i can't make it god said no you can make it i know what's on the inside of you you can make it the main reason besides going to heaven and not going to hell the main reason you need to have a relationship with the faithful god is that life happens life happens don't ever think that you're extra blessed because you've not been through tragedies like sister so-and-so's been or you've not been through tragedies like brother so-and-so man i must really be serving god because you know you know all my children are healthy i must really be serving god man that paying tithe business and all that that coming to church all uh that putting them through the christian school man that really pays off can i tell you something that is absolutely no 100 percent assurance that life is not going to happen to you i know some of the most righteous people in the world men and women men and women of impeccable character you you cannot get listen you cannot have any more of an impeccable care character an impeccable a life than steve and pat wilson our former superintendent of the aljc a man of impeccable character man and woman that loves god their son had come back home from bible college their son patrick was going to become the pastor of the church but one sunday afternoon sunday of all days sunday of all days in between church services patrick and a group of boys decided to go for a swim of which patrick would never return patrick would drown in that lake that day and what should have been a sunday night service in potts camp turned into a morning because pastor's son was drowned can i tell you something don't blame don't think because you're crossing every tea in your life and dotting every eye you're going to escape you hear me today life happens life happens and you know when you get ready for life you better get ready to have a god that you see as a faithful god i found it interesting i i just found it interesting that i'm going to ask you to go to ecclesiastes chapter 9 verse 11 9 11. i thought this is interesting including ecclesiastes 9 and 11. listen to him i returned and saw unto the son that the race is not to the swift can i tell you the fastest people don't always win i said the fastest people don't always win the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong the strongest people don't always win the war neither yet bread to the wise the wise don't always earn the income nor riches to men of understanding nor yet favor to men of skill in other words he says they should win they should prosper normally it would happen but we serve a faithful god we serve a faith faithful god is when life isn't normal anymore anybody ever had to go when life isn't normal how about when life's not normal how about when you do good and something terrible happens but time and chance happeneth to them all sooner or later the slower runner is going to win sometimes or another the weak win the battle he said it's just life things just happen time and chance happeneth to them all for man also knoweth not his time as fishes are broken in an evil net and as the birds that are caught in a snare so are the sons of men snared in an evil time when it befall when it fall up suddenly upon them so he just simply says the reason we need faith today is the strongest don't always win hope i just work on being strong you're not always going to win if i can just work on being fast you're not always going to win if i could just work on you you know if i could just work on this job and work on this and work on that that's good pull yourself up by the bootstraps get up at sun sun when the sun comes up and go go to bed after the sun goes down work hard try hard that's wonderful i applaud you but in the midst of all that don't let your stability your steadiness what you lean on what you build upon be in anything other than the god who is faithful don't don't don't do it at the neglect of worshiping a god oh i feel the holy ghost right now a god who is faithful a god who is faithful let me take you quickly to the second book of kings chapter number four verse number eight it's history it's history i read a little saying yesterday i read a little saying yesterday it said in the old testament in the old testament the new testament is contained in the old testament the new testament is contained in the new testament is the old testament explained all right so when we look at this let's look at this is a history lesson today but let's look at this as a principle of our lives chapter 4 verse number 8 of 2nd kings and it failed on a day that's interesting word there that's an interesting phrase and it failed matter of fact you're going to see that several times in this story and it failed on a day what's it what's what's he saying there it just so happened to be that's really what no deeper meaning than just this it just happened on this day it just happened on this day in life there are things brother perdue good or bad that just so happened on this day and you know what really makes my life is how i allow the god who is faithful to help me get through that day it fell on a day whether it is good or whether it is bad how i respond how i have faith that's why it's important that we're energized today with a god a knowledge that we serve a god who is faithful steady stability truth never changing we serve that god it failed on a day how are you going to respond to this day well well i guess what happened on that day and it fell on a day that elisha man of god passed a shooting that's a city where was a great woman and she constrained him to eat bread and so it was that as oft as he passed by he turned in thither to eat bread this woman had an opportunity on a day she noticed this stranger who passed by her house and uh she did just hospitality like you would give somebody a drink of water or or open the door for someone uh just you're just being hospitable you're opening the door for someone she just she just saw that as a time to be hospitable and and she said stranger would you would you come into the house and would you sit down and we'll give you a meal you're on a journey and she was so hospitable that as often as elisha came by he would stop in that house can i tell you there are some days that are days of opportunity there are days of opportunity for your life she had this opportunity the opportunity here here the man she could have she could have just said you know uh that stranger just needs to go on by or or whatever or she couldn't give him a drink of water at the front porch or she could just anyway she could have just done something that would not have said to the prophet you're welcome here but she had an opportunity and the bible says that as often as he passed by he turned in thither tea bread verse nine and she said unto her husband behold now i perceive that this is a holy man of god which pacifies continually let us make a little chamber i pray thee on the wall and let us sit for him there a bed a table a stool a candle stick it shall be that when he cometh to us that he shall turn in thither look at verse number 11 again verse number 11 starts off with would you read it with me and it it's interesting here that this verse keeps it just fell on a day in other words there came a day that elisha turned into the bed turned into the room and when he got in the room and just for time's sake when he got into the room he called his servant geheza and he said jesus i call that call that woman it fell on a day i want to reward her she needs to be rewarded she needs to be rewarded for what she has done can i tell you your days of opportunity will be determined whether you receive a reward or it passes over you i want to reward her i think i hear a verse of scripture but without faith it is impossible to please him for he that cometh to god must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder elisha fluffed up his pillows elisha looked around and said you know it's time for we let's reward her call her to the door they called her to the door and he said i've got connections with the king would you like to be made free from taxes i got some connections with the king would you like for me to put a guard of soldiers around your house i got some she said oh no she said i don't need anything i i don't need i don't need one thing we're we're we're just fine here and gahey's i spoke up and said man of god they have no children they have no future they've never given birth there's never been any little feet around this house they have no children and about that time the man of god said woman about the time of life about nine months you're going to have a child and she said oh man of god do not lie to me well he didn't lie to her sure enough she became pregnant and sure enough a beautiful little baby boy was born to that to that union a little baby boy can you imagine when you take care of the opportunity and now she's got a little boy got a little baby little boy little boy's growing up and he gets old enough little boy gets old enough to go to work with dad verse 19 says or excuse me verse 18 says and when the child was grown you see that again with me and when the child was grown what happened when the child was grown what happened it fell on a day that he went out to his father to the reapers and he said unto his father my head my head possibly having an aneurysm my head my head and he said to to a lad carry him to his mother and when he had taken him and brought him to his mother he sat on her knees still a small child he sat on his on her knees till noon and then died and she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of god shut the door upon him and went out and she called into her husband and said send me i pray thee one of the young men and one of the asses that i may run to the man of god and come again and he said we're for we're for wilt thou go to him today it is neither new moon nor sabbath and she said it shall be well can i tell you that when you believe in the god who is faithful it doesn't have to be a certain day a certain time a certain season do you know that god can answer you before you go on that three-day fast do you know that god can answer you before you spend seven days having an hour of prayer a day do you know that there doesn't have to be a special climate in your mind that you feel that god can answer you you can just step up and say he is a faithful god it shall be well what have i been saying to you sister carpenter what i've been saying to you it shall be well everything's going to be all right everything's going to be all right if there's been one phrase i've repeatedly said for the last 30 days i've repeatedly said about a trial it shall be all right it's going to be all right wait a minute the boy's dead it's almost a mockery you've laid him on the bed that you made isn't it amazing has any of you ever been mocked by life have any of you ever had that subtle temptation to want to look around who people who you perceive don't pray anywhere near like you and who you perceive doesn't give or work for god anywhere near like you do but things fall apart in your life and you're trying your very best and it's almost as if life wants to mock you how do you think that felt brother perdue for that woman to take that dead baby by the way i didn't ask for him that dead child that i've grown to love that lifeless boy that woman had a bed why not take him to your own bed great woman that woman had a bed in that house take him to your own room but somehow in her mind she connected the day of opportunity with the day of disaster and she said if he's a god that was faithful to give us conception he's the god who is faithful to give us resurrection let me say to every elderly saint here today that started serving god in your young years when you had plenty of emotions and plenty of strength and plenty of clearness of mind but you've been serving god for a long time now your emotions are not as sharp the joy and things of your life have kind of turned upside down can i speak a word from god to you today the same god that was with you when he filled you with the holy ghost is the same god that's going to cause a resurrection in your life you don't have to feel it you don't have to you don't have he's a god he is a he is a faithful he is she put him on that bed her husband said it's not a new moon you've not been on a three-day fast you've not just come from camp meeting and you're shouting out of the choir she simply said to him it shall be well let me go on down just for time sake just for time sake she comes to the man of god she comes to the man of god the man of god is standing there with gaheza he sees her way down in a valley coming he knows it's her and he sees her and elisha says to the hazel he says there there's the great woman there's the of my woman and something got to be up there's something there's something wrong here there's something that something's got to be up so go down there and ask her and ask her three questions three questions is everything well with your husband is everything well with you and does everything well with the child and when jesus got there intercepted her before she got to the man of god gays i said hey hey hey is everything all right with your husband she said it is well is everything okay with you she said it is well is everything all right with the boy there's where her world could fall apart but when you have faith you're able to speak of those things which are not as though they were and she said it is well i'm preaching to somebody today that's got a dead boy laying in a bed you've got a dead situation in your life and with every fiber in my being i want to wake you up today and cause you to see that it shall be well i wish you'd shouted i wish you'd shouted i wish you'd pound your hands right now i wish you would believe it today it shall be well oh my god my god my god my god my god my god it shall be well and when she got to the man of god she just reached out you were supposed to show him the proper the proper respect when she got to the man of god she literally jumped she leaped and put her arms around his feet in such a violent manner that gahesa got a stick and was trying to pry her off he said the man of god said leave her alone leave her alone god has hid some things from me leave her alone can i tell you it may be today that god wants to see your demonstrative worship well you know brother carpenter's come back here and tell me what's wrong with me brother if somebody in the church you know i just go to this church it's like nobody in this church knows what i'm going what i'm going maybe god has hid it from all of us because he would like to see you lose some pride maybe you've got so much pride you don't even come down to the altar anymore that's for those sinner people that's for those that's for those whacked up backsliders that keep coming back that's not from me why don't you know if i go to the altar today somebody's liable to think something's wrong with me pride pride don't you know honey if i grab your hand and i take off to the altar with you today don't you know there's going to be people going to talk about one of the carpenters or having marital issues listen you've always got those less than smart people i was preaching the other night mississippi and i got carried away and i used the word idiot and it was a great sermon it was i thought it was a great sermon it was a great sermon but brother dave on the way back to the room sir tarpon said don't say idiot anymore all right don't don't say idiot she said there were probably some idiots there so don't say idiots all right there will always be some it's not smart people like that in the church all right they'll always be people like that who cares they're not going to go home with you today why are you going to let them ruin your opportunity to come to god and show god publicly i don't care who's looking god i don't care who's looking god i don't care what anybody thinks god i got a dead baby at home i'm trying to speak faith and when i get the around the man of god's legs and get his eyes trying to drive her away the man of god says wait a minute this thing's been hid from me this thing's been hid from me what's wrong she said the boy is laying on the bed your bed and he's dead if i could use elisha if brother kenny if i could use elisha as as symbolic of god today why don't we come and put our dead boys on this altar why don't we just come today in the deadness that's in our lives today whether it might be that you need a touch from god spiritually or you need a touch from god just to clear your mind you need to touch from god today to get busy working for him the end is coming and we've got to be as busy as we can to win souls for god we we we've got to we got to be as busy as we can to be used of god would you pray with it's believed that john lived to be in his 90s john wrote first second and third john he wrote it to the church he wrote this to the church in first john chapter one and if you can put that on the screen first john first john chapter one and verse number seven somebody say praise the lord first john chapter 1 and verse number 7. not written to sinners not written to sinners brother darren not written to sinners written to the church you just jeter you for the tyler you but the or you for the amazing but if we walk into light as he is in the light we have fellowship one with another and the blood of jesus christ his son cleanseth e-t-h continual process stop thinking you got all the blood at repentance stop thinking you got all the blood when you prayed and repented and got baptized this is a continual cleansing process his son cleanseth us from all sin if we say that we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us if we confess our sins he is he is he is and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness what a faithful god he never gets tired of forgiving and cleansing he never gets tired hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah glory glory glory glory glory please forgive me for my certain sudden outburst of joy but as a pastor looking at a congregation to tell you never give up never give up never give up well i don't know if god's going to forgive me listen you're calling god a liar because the bible said he is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins thank god thank god thank god thank god well god's been good to us just a moment let me tell you that i preached friday night i felt very led of the lord to preach what god gave us several maybe a year or so ago you know it's amazing sister widener the older you get the older you get a few days ago may have been a couple years ago and a few years ago i did a couple days ago all right so i think i preached this 41st day a few months ago here okay and the lord led me on friday to preach it again at camp meeting and i've called our district uh i called our district to uh 41st day and churches all over our district are starting today with a 41st day miracle for 40 days for 40 days we're going to consecrate ourselves to god for 40 days and we're going to begin with now maybe in a couple weeks i'll come and we're going to do something corporate together we'll come together for prayer but i want this i want this to be i want this to be just you and god for right now all right so starting today starting today i want you go with me on this 40 day journey and the 40th day ends on september the 2nd that's a friday night we're going to believe that we're going to give god 40 days and that on the 41st day god's going to turn some things around for us some things are going to happen and i just i just believe that the ark lifted up noah's ark lifted up from the earth on the 40 first day jesus went forth in the power of the spirit on the 41st day there's too many 41st occurrences that happen so that's your prayer time you might want to just give you i'll just give you a couple ideas number one it could be you could you could purpose to give god 40 minutes a day 40 minutes a day uh bible reading meditation and prayer uh it can be it could just be a number of things it doesn't have to be 40 minutes a day you can you can do something for four minutes or whatever but just every day be mindful as you count the days down that we're headed to the 41st day how many need a 41st day yeah i think we all do i think we all do thank you amen don't forget uh tonight's going to be a little different brother you want to tell us how it's going to be just a little different tonight before you do that i want you to close in prayer also but brother salyards he went up and preached on tuesday night up in up in sevierville and did an excellent job thank you brother for that would you give my brother a hand he really ministry great amen and amen if you will get here a little bit early tonight uh we usually get here at 5 30 to pray but get here about 5 20 we're going to have about 10 minutes of prayer so at 5 20 and then right at 5 30 brother daniel salinas pastor daniel salinas from chile is going to be here in the pulpit from 5 30 to 6 and he's going to preach in spanish amen it's going to be translated to us english speaking people into english we're just going to have a great time from 5 30 to 6. matter of fact we've invited we've invited our hispanic community we believe every nation every every tongue we want if they're in maryville if they're in blount county we want a ministry for them here at first applesauce church and this sunday we're going to make our sunday gonna be a hispanic service we're excited about that that's at 5 30 and then at six o'clock course we'll begin our worship service it's gonna be a little bit different uh we have a youth group uh that's in the gatlinburg pitch and forge area um on vacation they're having kind of a youth outing this weekend they tell me somewhere around 80 students are going to be in service with us tonight from that youth group from ohio we're excited about that and because of that we're going to change things up a little bit we're going to have we're going to have a a student-driven service our student pastor is going to be preaching tonight excited about that brother zach hammond uh looking forward to hearing him bring the word it's gonna be a great night spanish speaking students adults we're all gonna come together and uh have a great time in the lord tonight get here just a little bit early 5 20 and we'll have prayer together after choir practice god bless you in jesus name
