you're not already standing will you stand with me this morning as we go into the reading of the word of god you are in you are in the father's house today you are in the father's house today you know um as you're turning to acts chapter four verse number 27 acts chapter 4 and verse number 27. um of course acts is one of our favorite books in the bible is the book of acts and our bible's all just open up to the book of acts it's a very uh it's where we got our beginnings as a church and i'm so glad to see everybody today and that's what i was going to make reference to just a moment ago you know covet is spiked again in our state and our city and community and and as goes the community there goes the church you know and so i thought you know everybody that braves everybody that braves and comes out this morning i'm going i'm going to put my debit card back at the global grounds and just tell everybody i'm buying coffee today on everybody but when i got here this morning in the parking lot i changed my mind saying brother carpenter i said self uh you better rethink this amen and so uh anyway that's off the table acts chapter 4 verse number 27 for of a truth against thy holy child jesus now i really want you to look at that phrase there for of a truth against thy holy child jesus whom thou hast anointed both herod pontus pilate with the gentiles and the people of israel were gathered together for to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done and now lord behold their threatenings and grant unto thy servants that with all boldness they may speak thy word by stretching forth thine hand to heal and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child jesus and when they had prayed the place was shaken where they were assembled together and they were all filled with the holy ghost and they spake the word of god with boldness i want to preach for a few moments and remind us because every message ought to be a reminder i want to remind us all today about the times we're living in about the times we're living in and i want to minister today on the holy child jesus the holy child jesus father anoint our lips of clay today lord anoint my heart to impart the word put the anointing upon my lips of fire put the anointing upon my mind of wisdom god if there's lost souls here today while i am preaching the word minister to them god if there's discouraged people god today begin to minister to them in this service god may we come to a true revelation of the holy child jesus in jesus name we pray amen and amen give the lord a hand of praise before you're seated right now the holy the holy child you may be seated the holy child jesus now what is intriguing what is intriguing about jesus being called the holy child what's absolutely intriguing about it is where it is located in the bible where it is located in the bible jesus christ at the time that this was prayed by the apostles was not a child he was the glorified resurrected savior mediator jesus christ and so here as the first miracle was performed and the first persecution was issued against the apostles and they begin to pray and as they begin to pray they made mention this is what intrigued me as they were praying they mentioned in verse 27 verse number 27 and verse number 29 they said all of this was done against the holy child against the holy child now there could have been no harm done to the scripture if it had just simply been said had been done against jesus if it had just been done against jesus that you know that pontus pilate and herod how they spewed out their anger against jesus that and that phrase and if i'd have read that i would have totally just went on but as i my eyes fell upon that and study i thought there's got to be a reason that the apostles in this prayer referred to jesus as the holy child as the holy child and of course as we begin to pray and we begin to ask god to direct our minds it seems like always the wonderful spirit of god comes down and gives us clarity gives us clarity as never before i'm going to tell you if you want to understand the bible put commentaries down and start talking to the author it's amazing it's amazing it's absolutely amazing how the author will let you know and as i begin to just just wonder in my mind and ponder and of course i've got a little thing that i do and i hope no one uh thinks i'm losing it today but i got a little thing that i do in meditation of prayer i try to sit and listen to them i try to walk into the prayer room in my mind and listen to them as they begin to pray and and and i put faces on them and and and different things and the spirit of god so beautifully came to my mind and said they were always reminding themselves of the deity of jesus christ he was not just an ordinary man he was not just a rabbi he was not just a good teacher he was not just a prophet and a preacher he was the holy child jesus never has there ever been a child conceived that it could be referred to as a holy child with the billions of with the billions of births that have happened there has never been with the exception of one the birth of a holy child so what makes this season so special and please let us never forget in the midst of the trees and the wrapping paper in the banquets and the parties can we never forget that we're all here because of the holy child jesus christ the holy child not just a child but a holy child not just not a martyr not just someone that laid down his life but a holy child and so that caused me to want to go back to luke chapter one and verse number 26 and i believe it'd do us all good just to to read this and look at this in the sixth month the angel gabriel was sent from god into a city of a city of galilee named nazareth to a virgin and spouse to a man whose name was joseph of the house of david the virgin's name was mary the angel came in unto her and said hell thou that are highly favored the lord is with thee blessed art thou among women and when she saw him she was troubled at his saying cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be the angel said unto her fear not mary for thou hast found favor with god and behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb and shall bring forth a son and shall call his name jesus he shall be great shall be called the son of the highest and the lord god shall give unto him the throne of his father david and he shall reign over the house of jacob forever and of his kingdom there shall be no end then said mary unto the angel how shall this be seeing i know not a man she was not she was not doubting she was asking how this could be now we know that zachariah the priest questioned the angel and as a a sign that he questioned him in doubt he was unable to speak until the birth of john the baptist but now mary simply asked i want to know how i want to know how this is going to happen seeing that i know not a man and the angel answered and said unto her the holy ghost shall come upon thee and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee therefore also that holy thing that's how it can be called a holy child therefore that holy thing which shall be borne of thee shall be called the son of god look at god in his creative acts look at god in his creative acts and please let's push aside out of our minds anyone that may be here of the second and third and fourth century attempt of man to give a definition of god and to divide god up but let's simply see god for who he is in the bible he is the one true in living god god is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth our bibles open up in the very beginning and says in the beginning in the beginning god created the heaven and the earth the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of god moved upon the waters and the spirit of god moved upon the waters that word move there is the same word they use when a chicken brews over eggs to hatch eggs the spirit of god just come upon the waters and and begin to shake and god said let there be light and we are here in creation today because god's spirit hovered over the darkness and god spoke in the darkness and no doubt there is imagery here when the angel says that the holy ghost shall come upon thee the holy ghost the spirit of god shall come upon thee and the power of the highest look at this again shall overshadow thee just as god's glory filled the old testament tabernacle his glory overshadowed the old testament tabernacle and moses could not go into the tabernacle because god overshadowed it and just as god overshadowed the earth when it was empty and void god came down and whatever her young age is is not really important here but what's important that there was a young virgin girl by the name of mary that found favor with god and because she found favor with god god chose mary to enter this world for the act of redemption can i tell you this morning that we are here today because of god's awesome plan of redemption before the worlds were created god had this master plan of redemption god had this master minded plan that when he created man he would create man with the ability to redeem man that's why i do not fall into the camp and i want to preach it to everyone that i can i don't fall into the camp of the street three strikes and you're out god i don't fall into the camp of those that want to tell people god has written you off god you've done too much you've you've done too much and god has written you off i just i failed to see a god that would have a plan of redemption before one star began to shine or one blade of grass came out of the ground or one human being spoke a word that a god could look down at us and say that they can act in such a way to make my plan of redemption null and void i got to tell you today that i'm finding myself thanking god once again for the holy child jesus christ there's power in that holy child the bible says that the holy ghost overshadowed her and without the aid of a man she became as pregnant as any woman had ever been pregnant in human history but this time it was different the child's father was the holy ghost was the spirit of god that's why jesus christ is referred to as the son of god is because god god caused the conception that's why jesus christ is referred to as the son of man is because it was a human womb that housed this divine conception no man has ever been or will ever be like the man christ jesus son of man he can hunger he can thirst he can grow weary and he can sleep in the bowel of a boat son of god he can stand up and tell the wind that he created to lay down and to stop blowing as the son of man he could be hungry but as a son of god he could grab fish and loaves and begin to break and distribute as the son of man he could hang on the cross a sinless sacrifice a sinless sacrifice he could hang on the cross as the son of man but as the son of god he said destroy this temple and in three days i will raise it up again as the son of man he was the offering as the son of god he was the priest that was giving the offering i'm thankful today that he is both he is both god and man and what would cause a bunch of grown men in the midst of persecution herod pontus pilate all the people and i didn't even read the part in there where they quoted the old testament and said why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing here they stand in the midst of persecution for doing a good thing for causing the lame man at the gate called beautiful to be healed here they are in the midst of a culture that because they're doing good they're being evil spoken of because they're helping people their motives are being questioned but one of them looked at the other and said it's time to remind ourselves about the holy child jesus i've come this morning to tell us let's not get lost in the tinsel and the trees and the celebration and the soft music let's rejoice today because we serve the god who is the holy child christ jesus come on give him some praise right now the holy child the holy child oh this holy child according to paul in second corinthians second corinthians chapter 5 verse number 21 let me tell you a little bit about the holy child the holy child the bible says for he hath for he hath made him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of god why is he the holy child because he has no sin why was he made a holy child so that the holy could stand in the gap for the unholy let's talk about the holy child for a moment what makes him so special first peter 2 22 the bible speaking of the holy child says who did no sin neither was guile found in his mouth first john chapter 3 verse number 5 talking about talking about the holy child and ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins and in him is no sin what a foundation we have church what a foundation of the holy child jesus christ that we have today what a foundation you can mention some of the philosophers of days gone by they're dead and their bodies are in the grave or in the tomb but when you say jesus there's something about that holy child because he wasn't someone that was he is someone that is and was and is to come confucius cannot say that any of the famous philosophers that have altered people's religion cannot say that but because he is the holy child jesus christ he can say i am alpha and omega the beginning and the end i am him who is who was and is to come i can tell you that abraham rejoiced to see my day i can tell you that today because i am the holy child knew no sin hebrews chapter 10 verse number five now bible speaks of prophecy of what the holy child would say the bible says in hebrews 10 and verse number 5 wherefore when he cometh into the world he saith sacrifices and offerings thou wood is not but a body thou hast prepared me oh even the holy child knew when the holy child came in the world he said you don't want sacrifices of the old testament you're not interested in bulls and goats you're not interested in in meal offerings and oil you're not interested in all of that that's never that's never done anything for anybody it's not a holy offering it's a holy child but now the holy child says all of those offerings you didn't you did not accept them but said a body o god you have made i think it'd be a good break right here in my notes i think it'll be a good break right here in my notes just to thank god for the holy child jesus christ would you just if you're thankful for it now would you just would you just praise him loud enough that you can hear yourself hallelujah thank you lord thank you god oh praise god praise god praise god oh the holy child jesus christ the holy child the holy child the holy child now what made the holy child holy was his conception but also acts chapter 20 and verse 28 we'll turn the corner here in this message now in acts chapter 20 and verse number 28 it says take heed therefore unto yourselves pay attention he says church church at ephesus pay attention church in maryville pay attention take heed unto yourselves and to all the flock over which the holy ghost hath made you overseers to feed the church of god which he had purchased with his own blood he purchased this church with his own blood what were they reminding themselves in the midst of the threatenings because the bible says they were threatened they were threatened they gave them a threat let me just say that just to bring you up to to to to to speed on on what happens the first miracle that happened it's the very first miracle peter and john were on their way to prayer when a man over the age of 40 had been born lame from his mother's womb had never walked had never experienced the joy of watching uh of taking his first step his mom and dad never experienced the joy for the andrew of watching their baby take the first step he was lame from his mother's womb he's over the age of 40. his occupation is a beggar he is carried daily down to a spot as worshipers go into the temple to ask alms of the people that are going in but on this day two men approached him peter and john and they fastened their eyes upon him and the bible says that peter and john said silver and gold have we none but such as we have now these are please remember these are the same ones that use the verbiage the holy child silver and gold we don't have any but such as we do have in the name of jesus rise and walk and then the bible said that they not only asked him to commanded him to rise and walk but peter reached down and got him by the right hand and lifted him up and immediately his feet and ankle bones there's more of a miracle here than meets the eye immediately his feet and ankle bones receive strength now remember this he had never walked it takes a process to learn how to walk but in a moment's time his feet and ankle bones receive strength and he's standing up and the bible says walking and leaping and praising god he entered into the temple but there's another little hidden nugget he holds on to these two men called peter and john tell you that's a pretty smart thing to do we ought to hold on to what's brought us up we ought to hold on some folks some folks god finds them down by the gate called beautiful but once they get their touch they run on he held on to peter and john so when god does bring you up and god does bring us out don't let go of what's brought you up and don't let go of what's brought you out so he holds on to them and a commotion happens because because the man who was lame is now walking and leaping and praising god and a commotion you can imagine you can imagine brother schnitzel you can imagine what happened people rushed and hear this here this former lame man is standing there with with two preachers in both hands peter and john here he stands and all of a sudden they begin to look at peter and john and they said hey don't look on us don't look on us as though we've done anything don't don't look on us as if we're special this jesus christ whom you crucified it's by his power it's by his holiness it's by him that this man stands here before you whole and then he began to teach the name of jesus he began to teach the death burial and resurrection of the lord jesus christ i don't know that it happened this way i can just surmise that it happened the chief priest got up to address his full congregation full house of people and he gets up and it's empty and he says isn't it time to start the service and they said there's been such a commotion out on the porch there's a commotion outside this went on well what's happened well you know those followers of jesus you know they crucify jesus well they're claiming that he's alive well i know he said lies lies lies lies that's all about no no well we got a little problem mr chief priest you know the man that sits out front and begs oh yeah you're talking about the man 40 years been out there yeah well he today they walked by and they mentioned the dead man's name jesus and they reached down oh yes they reached down and said got a little problem out here uh pardon the pun brother john houston we got a problem here we got a little problem here what is it the man is outside walking and leaping and praising god and they're telling everybody out there that it's by the name of the holy child jesus that this was done well oh yes thank you god oh thank you lord well they go outside and they take the temple guards with them they take the ushers with them that's what temple they take the temple guards with them and they take the police with them and and as they come up on the crowd and push their way through the crowd here's peter and john saying and jesus christ said this and jesus christ said that whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa y'all are disrupting the service here we need to take you all aside and they took them aside and they began to threaten them they took them aside and they began they began threatening these men now they got in the chamber they put them in a little holding cell they put them in a little holding cell over here and then they had a little council and they got in their counsel and they said hey man we got a little issue here said we cannot deny that a miracle has been done he said the man's out there he's over the age of 40. he's out there bouncing around he's out there walking around we can't deny that the miracles happen but we don't want this to go any further what do we do let's go out there and tell them to stop that team we don't care if they set up healing crusades we don't care if they tell we don't we don't we don't care if they set up healing crusades we just don't want them doing it in the name of jesus we don't want them doing it in the name of jesus because everything we do the devil is going to try to keep us from giving god the glory every miracle that's ever been done wasn't necessarily because somebody was sick it was because god found somebody that would give him glory that might answer why we've been through some things not so that god can show up and flex his muscles and show us that he's god but so that we can turn around and say god did it god brought me through if it hadn't been for god i wouldn't have made it i staggered my knees buckled i didn't i i couldn't find rest and i couldn't find sleep if it had not been for the lord i would not have made it through this i give god glory and i give god honor everything we do we ought to give god glory for it we don't mind go ahead guys we don't mind that you healed now they step back and say hey hey fellas we don't care that you heal don't do it anymore in jesus name don't don't don't do it anymore in his name of which peter spoke up and i'll let you read this on your own but peter spoke up and he said you just go ahead and judge if we ought to obey god rather than man right if we ought to obey man rather than god you know what he was tactfully saying you know he's tackling saying we're not going to obey you we're going to preach the name of jesus and then he went and preached them a little message he said haven't you all read that there was a stone in the building that was rejected and didn't you all read in the old testament where that rejected stone would become the chief cornerstone of the building there would be one stone in the building that would be rejected of man as a matter of fact it's a powerful stone it has a dual nature it's a stone it's a stone that if you believe on that stone and you fall on that stone you will have salvation but it's also a stone that if you don't believe on that stone that stone will fall on you and you will have damnation it's an unusual stone he said didn't you read that the stone that was rejected of man has become the chief cornerstone don't you know that neither is their salvation in any other for there's no other name given under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved what was peter and john doing they were preaching the holy child jesus that something about that name there's something about that name well when they decided that they could not persuade them not to preach the name the bible says in acts chapter 4 and verse number 21 so when they had feather threatened them oh i like that verse right there i i think that verse right there describes the times that we're living in right now so when that you see when when the devil sees he's not going to stop our march forward then the next thing he wants to do is feel along the way with loudspeakers of threatenings threatenings and when they had feathers threatened them they let them go finding nothing how they might punish them because of the people for all men glorified god for that which was done threatening don't we live in a culture right now threatenings aren't we a people right now that covet is brought to us a new atmosphere of just of what might happen what is a threat a threat is expressing or suggesting a threat of harm of danger it is could be used in receiving a threatening message or you did this in a threatening manner indicating or suggesting the approach of possible trouble or danger danger that would be seen on the horizon don't you understand that the enemy has always used his favorite tool threatenings he's always used that favorite tool of threatening because that's all that he can do that's all that he can do to the child of god unless god gives him any permission all he can do is threaten fill your head with things that possibly could happen just just threats and threats and a little part a little personal story here but uh uh years ago uh my our mother was married to a man named newman langford and they had a mobile home uh out off of rifle range road and i'd been they had a dog either the neighbor had the dog or we had the dog and i'm a little i'm a little foggy on that but i'm clear on this he had a ferocious bark to it he had a that that dog had one it was a deep it was a growl you think a grizzly had got loose it was a deep growl bark that i i mean it would just send chill bumps up when it when the dog when when the dog began to bark but that dog that dog had got some kind of gum disease and that dog didn't have a tooth in his head he didn't sister jill he didn't have a that dog didn't have a tooth in his head they had to make his dog food good and soft for him so he could just pluck it up in his mouth you know so if you were brand new to the dog you stayed in the car to somebody come outside if he was brand new to him but if you knew the dog you just got out of your car and walked behind but right beside because the worst thing he can do is gum you to death that's the worst thing that's the worst thing you could do do you know the devil is like a roaring lion but 2 000 years ago there was a little girl by the name of mary that got overshadowed by the holy ghost and that little girl gave birth to the holy child that holy child lived to be some 33 years old and he went to a place called calvary and he hung on a cross at calvary and he died there and he went into the spirit world and he pulled every tooth that the enemy has today and the enemy is still out there sister selena but he is a roaring lion he's already greater is he that is within us than he that is in the world we ought to shout about the holy child jesus the holy child we we threaten you we threaten you okay you want to you want to threaten me um i'll just tell you what i'll do with my threats i won't go to the horoscope i won't go to the news missed a good place for amen give me jesus give me jesus just give me the holy child just just give me just give me just give me him just give me him um i'm threatening you if you mention the name of jesus one more time can't you sin maybe have their whips out can't you maybe see him making a gesture toward the whipping blocks can't you see them we'll put you we'll lock you up you won't see the light of day does anybody ever in this building know what threats sound like threats are 3d pictures of what the enemy's going to do to you so you know brother dean where do we take our threats when we've been threatened and and he didn't promise that we wouldn't be threatened he didn't he didn't promise that that we wouldn't be threatened verse 23 of acts chapter four where do we take our threats y'all still with me today right where have you brought your threats this morning verse 23 and being let go they just got threatened and being let go they went to their own company can i tell you one of the worst things you can do when you're threatened by the enemy is to get a loan the worst thing you can do when you're threatened is to get a loan and i think that that i really think that the curve ball the enemy has sent us in this covet is how covet has has has has had its effect upon us coming together thank god for the ability to be able to text people i'd hate to be going through what we're going through right now and not have the ability for somebody to send a text and say brother carpenter we've not been there since march but we still love you we still love the truth we watched the sermon last night i i don't think we can thank god enough for our tech team i i don't think we can thank god enough go ahead if you'd like to stand you know right up there through those windows right there i tell you what i'll reach a compromise i can't buy everybody coffee today but i'll give my debit card to give everybody on the tech team a cup of coffee today all right come on where do you take your threats they got to the church they came and being let go they went to their own company and reported of all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them and when they had heard that they lifted up their voice to god with one accord and said lord thou art god which hath made the heaven the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that in them is look at this oh friend we would do good not to take our threatenings to facebook we would do good not to take our threat look they they didn't they didn't go immediately to social media they didn't and they would have had social media they could have run hither and feather they could they could have run all over saying hey we've been threatened hey we've been told not to preach hey we've been told they're going to do this and all the time we're rehearsing and repeating the threats of the devil we're losing the opportunity to be saying then peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of jesus christ when when we become known as people that can only tell what's happened to us where do we take time to reach out to the lost and the hurting and those that need to know there's power in the name of the holy child jesus and the church still has the power and the church still has the mercy and the church still has the love of god and the church is still moving forward they went quickly they didn't they didn't tell they didn't tell all that they had said they just went very quickly they went quickly they lifted up their voice they told we've been threatened and then they lifted up their when they heard that they lifted up their voice to god with one accord verse 24 and said it said lord our god thou has made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that in them is who by the mouth of thy servant david has said why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing i'm going to tell you what if you're always raging about things you fall in the category of a heaven oh lord i know we got company here today i'm supposed to be real sweet but always raging about something always stirring something up always raise i know one thing about you razors are not praisers if you're always raging about something you've got your mind off jesus you've got your mind you've got your mind off of him but you know what you can't have your mind on him because he's so good so sweet so gracious so powerful such a blessing god you can't in him there is no darkness at all jesus has been better than good to me i don't deserve all the goodness of jesus when i think about his goodness and all that he's done for me my soul cries out hallelujah i thank you god he's been better to me than anybody has ever been ever been i gotta praise his name i gotta worship his name do i have something i could complain about sure but i don't want to complain today i want to be a praiser today the sun is going to shine again the building is going to fill up again god is working in the midst of covet god is pouring out his spirit he is a mighty god and it's all because of the holy child jesus musicians why don't you come this morning you may be seated for a moment the holy why did the heathen rage always raging why did the heathen rage you always rage and you fall into the category you fall into the category of a heathen who by the mouth of the servant david hath said why did the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing the kings of the earth stood up and the rulers were against were gathered together against the lord and against his christ forever truth against thy holy child jesus let me tell you something you can fight against a lot of people and win but you won't win against god you can fight against a lot of folks and you win you can get the last word sometimes you get the last word me not often but sometimes you can get the last word i got him told but you can't fight against god and when you fight against god it's a losing it's a losing battle it's a losing battle for of a truth against thy holy child jesus that's who you're fighting against whom thou hast anointed both herod and pontus pilate with the gentiles and the people of israel were gathered together for to do whatever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done and now lord behold their threatenings and grant unto thy servants that with all boldness they may speak thy word what they pray for what do they pray for god give us boldness you know what we need during this season in our life we need boldness because if we let threats inundate our minds we'll become intimidated to stand on the promises of god if we let threats and what could happen what might happen and what has happened what could come to my house what's not come to my house we let all those threats just inundate our mind all of a sudden we become so intimidated he said lord give us you hear what's being said you hear what's being said i was telling someone last week i think a story in the bible that i hold close to my bosom it helped me through a lot of storms because i can control what i say but i can't control what others say and sister ryan a story that's that that i've held close to me was when david was ran off the throne of israel by his own son absalom his own blood son stole the hearts of the people his own son stole the hearts and uh gathered an army together and was going to come and kill his own father and david to save israel so there wasn't a fight in jerusalem david was barefooted put sackcloth over his head and began to run out of jerusalem as he's running out of jerusalem a man by the name of shimyai who was of the dis the descendants of saul the former king now shimmy i had been told a lie about david shimiai had been told that david had murdered his grandfather saul that was not the truth but shimmy i operating in a lie he began to throw rocks at david and he began to call david sister preston some of the most vile names he began to call him some of the most vile curse words that you could mention and you're a murderer you're a fool you're getting what you deserve david you're getting what you deserve david he was just throwing rocks at him one of david's men said david grant me permission i'll go up the side of that hill right there and i'll bring you that dead dog's head back i'll bring you shimmy eyes head back let me show you something here some people show their strength
