if you're not already standing will you stand with me right now yes he did yes he did did and yes he can no service would be complete without standing in honor standing in honor of the reading of God's infallible word The Book of Matthew Chapter 5 and verse 43 is where I would like to begin reading I make no apologies but my scripture reading will be a little more length today than normal I'm actually going to read from Matthew 5:43 Hebrews 2 and9 and 2 Timothy 2 and 3 to lay the foundation for this message to lay the foundation for this message oh I praise him today don't you King of Kings Lord of lords Matthew 5 and verse 43 Jesus said you have heard that it ha been said said Thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thine enemy but I say unto you love your enemies bless them that curse you do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you that ye may be called that you may be the children excuse me that you may be the children of your father which is in heaven for he maketh his son to rise on the evil and on the good and sendeth rain on the just and the unjust for if you love them which if you love them which love you what reward have you do not even the publicans the same and if ye salute your brethren only what do you more than others do not even the publicans so be ye therefore perfect even as your father which is in heaven is perfect now let's read from Hebrews chapter 2 verse number nine but we see Jesus who was made a little lower than the angels for suffering of death crowned with Glory and Honor that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man for it became him for whom are all things and by whom are all things in bringing many sons unto glory to make the captain the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings now second second Timothy 2 and verse number three and verse 4 thou therefore endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ no man that Warth entangleth himself with the Affairs of this life that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier I want to minister today for a few moments the mission of our Messiah the mission of our Messiah father I love you today I thank you Lord for your word how glorious is your word how perfect God is your word the lamp the light the sword the hammer the Comfort everything we need God is found in your word Lord for the next few moments anoint my lips of clay that I may speak these words and that they would penetrate the heart and bring Comfort salvation healing and father if you'll anoint me today I'll be mindful to give you the praise and the honor and the glory in Jesus wonderful name I do ask these things amen and amen you may be seated this morning the mission the mission of our Messiah to tomorrow in our country we will remember the men and women who served and gave their lives purchasing and defending our freedom we desire to remember them I desire to preach this today that we remember them so that we here can be inspired by their sacrifice and to have the same love and loyalty for our great country as they did our prayers today is that their lives serve as an everlasting reminder to Future Generations that it is a high honor to serve this great country we could speak of the many Heroes those who gave their lives from the Revolutionary War to the current Wars that are being fought today yet there is one who is the inspiration there is one who is the inspiration of all times he's the soldier of all soldiers he's the captain of all captains he waged war against what the Apostle Paul Paul referred to in first 1 Corinthians chap 15 verse 26 Paul referred to this Warrior to this Soldier to this Captain he says The Last Enemy that shall be destroyed is death Jesus Christ is like no other Soldier and that he like many others many other soldiers PID made the ultimate sacrifice by their lives we're here today and we have had moments of remembering and honoring because men and women have paid the ultimate price of giving their lives so that we could have our freedom as citizens of the United States of America but yet the ultimate soldier of all Soldiers the ultimate captain of all Captain he not only laid down his life he not only laid down his life but let's see what he says in John chapter 10 and verse number 17 this soldier of all soldiers captain of our Salvation he said therefore doth my father love me because I lay down my life now if that's all he did he would join with the memory of memorial day but oh he was more than that he said because I laid down my life that I might take it again no man taketh it from me but I lay it down of myself I have power to lay it down and I have power to take it again this commandment have I received from my father you see he is not just an ordinary soldier that laid down his life he's a soldier of all soldiers that not only had power to lay his life down but he also had power to pick it up again for had he not picked it up again the greatest enemy that we have is not communism the greatest enemy that we have in the United States is not terrorism the greatest enemy that we have is not a man here on this Earth or a government here on this Earth but the greatest enemy man has is a Thing Called Death but praise be unto God the soldier of all Soldiers waged war against death he laid down his life and he picked it up again you see today there's one that knows he's defeated I have to preach Faith to you today and to get you to understand that death is defeated I have to preach Faith to you today and get you to understand that the devil is defeated but you see there's one that knows that he's defeated and that's the Devil Himself the enemy absolutely positively knows that he is defeated but he hopes that you don't find out about it because if you find out about it you can't keep a praise off your lips you can't keep a hand clap off your hands face any dilemma in life and you'll look at it and say so what my captain of my salvation has conquered it all give him a thunderous praise right now Satan knows he is defeated Satan knows he's already defeated Revelation 1 and verse 17 Revelation 1 and 17 John the Revelator said and when I saw him I fell at his feet is dead he laid his right hand upon me saying unto me fear not I am the first and the last I am him that liveth and was dead and behold I am alive forever more amen and have the keys of death of hell and of death years ago back in the old western times when a man was wanted they would put a poster up and it would State something like this wanted help me say it wanted Dead or Al can I tell you about Jesus Christ he's wanted he was dead but he's alive he's a soldier of all Soldier he's the captain of all captains today Revelation chapter 19 in verse number 11 look at this and I saw the heaven open and behold Revelation 1911 and I saw the heaven open this is yet to happen I saw the heaven open and behold a white horse and he that set upon on him was called faithful and true and in righteousness he doth judge and make war his eyes were a flame of fire and on his head were many crowns and he had a name written that no man knew but he himself he was clothed with the vesture dipped in Blood and his name is called the word of God and the armies and the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses clothed in fine linen white and clean let me stop there I'm going to keep reading but I got to stop there because I think the church has never really been preached to enough that we're more than just a church we're an army I said we're an army did you read what Paul said he said we are a good soldier and what does a good soldier do he endures hardness as a good Soldier you see God never promised us a Bed of Roses he never promised us a Carefree life but he did promise US I have been Victorious over death hell and the grave the worst thing that could happen to you and I he's already rolled the stone away and already made a way into heaven we are an army we are an Army and the armies which were with him were the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses clothed with fine linen white and clean out of his mouth goth the sharp sword that with it he should Smite the Nations he shall rule them with a rod of iron and tread The Wine Press of the fierceness and Wrath of the almighty God and he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written come on give him praise today king of kings and Lord of lords he's the king of all Kings he the Lord of all Lords his kingdom will not be shaken other kingdoms around the world have come and gone and I've got news for you friend even this great nation I prayed this morning and I hope this doesn't offend anyone but I prayed this morning and I prayed this way God bless our righteous leaders God bless our righteous leaders and comfort our righteous leaders but God convict our unrighteous leaders God Comfort our leaders that are standing for Morality and standing for what's right and God convict Wicked leaders that want to take us deep into sin but as much as we love the good us OFA as much as we love this Kingdom this kingdom is going to be brought to an end but I'm in a kingdom today the book of Hebrews says a kingdom that Shall Not Be Shaken a kingdom of which there shall be no end I'm talking about the mission of the Messiah oh the great love of God I want you thankful today that we serve a great God of great love I said a great God of great love an incomprehensible love a love that can't be comprehended Ed a love that goes beyond our compreh comprehension oh he he started right he said you have heard that it have been said You shall love your neighbor but hate your enemies you ever notice the way he started that I like the way he started that he said you have heard that it had been said one of these days I'm going to preach you a message on spiritual hearsay spiritual hearsay there's a lot of people going to heaven on hearsay we better get our noses in the book and read the book cuz he said you have heard that it had been said love your neighbor and hate your enemy but I say unto you love your enemies love your enemies love your enemies now this is where it gets quiet right cuz I I've talked about how great God is but now I got to talk to you about what he said to you and I he said love your enemies he said um bless your enemies he said do good to your enemies he said pray for them that despitefully use you he said do good to them now he said if you are only First Apostolic people if you're only people that can do good to those that do you good if you're only people that can bless those that bless you we now you you you're going to have to really I'm I'm I'm going to this going to be very vague probably about the vaguest thing I've said all day today all right we are no different than Sinners don't pat don't break your arm patting yourself on the back CZ you're here at church this morning don't break your arm patting yourself on the back because you're you you've got some moral check boxes that you can check and say I've never never done this never done that I'm asking us today I'm probing my heart today can we engulf the love of God to where we can love our enemies you see this is a great love of God it's not a love of God that's personality driven it's not a love that's your personality your temperament it's the great love of God and in Colossians chapter 1 verse number 20 if you're still with me today say Amen in Colossians chapter 1 verse number 20 listen to him listen to our captain listen to our captain today and having made peace through the blood of his cross now look at the similarities we're enjoying our freedom today but there's been a lot of bloodshed for our salvation for our freedom as a as a people there's been a lot of blood shed and having made peace through the blood of his cross by him to reconcile all things unto himself by him I say whether there be things in heaven or things things in Earth or things in heaven and you now listen to this well follow verse 21 closely and you that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by Wicked Works yet now he had reconciled in the body of his flesh through through death to present you holy unblamable unreprovable in his sight do you realize that when we were Sinners we were the enemies of God we were an enemy of God when we were Sinners and I'll show you here in James 4 and4 look at James how he reads this James 4 and4 ye adulterers and adulteresses now he's not talking about the marriage of adulter and adulteresses he is talking about spiritual adultery the word adult adultery comes from the word means it means to mix something with a foreign object in other words it means to mix something that doesn't belong with something else thus we get the term we get the term adultery a married man doesn't doesn't belong with another woman outside of the woman he's married to you may be seated today right and vice versa we don't spiritually speaking we should not be adulterers we should not mix ourselves with things that we should not be mixed with what would that that be ye adulterers and adulteresses know you not that the Friendship of this of the world is enmity with God whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world look at this is an enemy of God now friend when when we read that we understand why we want to strive to be like our savior we want to strive to be away from the world and the things of the world but look look at the great love of God John 3:16 for God so loved the world God loved his enemy God loved his enemy the Bible says to to to to have friendship with the world is to be an enemy of God do we realize today there was nothing lovable about us other than we were made in God's image and made in in the likeness but because of what Adam and Eve did in the garden we became the enemies of God but oh praise be to God for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son this great God of loved looked at something that was his enemy and instead of stamping us out and S sentencing us to a life of Eternal damnation in Hell praise God today and I'm being overcome by that love right now but praise God today that he looked down at the enemy and he said I I'll go there I'll wrap myself in flesh I'll become one of them and I'll give my body on a cross so that they can be saved oh I believe it's Memorial Day and we need to remember the captain of our Salvation can I tell you today because he lives I can face tomorrow because he lives all fear is gone Because He Lives I know who holds the future I can be confident because because he lives because he lives and lived on this Earth we have the greatest example set before us because you can't pick and choose throughout your Bible what you believe and don't believe we can't take Matthew 5: 43-48 and cut it out of our Bible he gave us an example he gave us an example 1 Peter chapter 2 and verse number 21 1 Peter chapter 2 verse 21 listen to these words for even here unto were you called in other words your brother Mayo this is why we're called This is why we're called because Christ also suffered for us leaving us an example that we should follow his steps who did no sin neither was guile found in his mouth who when he was reviled reviled not again when he suffered he threatened not but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously I'm going to tell you if some of us have been hanging on that cross if some of us had been blindfolded and smoked in the face and spit upon we would probably thought listen when I come back you're a goner when I resurrect in 3 days I'm telling you I'm coming back Roman soldier I see what you're doing to me I'm coming back you you you blindfold I know exactly who you are I'm God and I know exactly who you are and I'm coming to your house when I get back you know what he didn't do that when he was buffeted when he was smok when he was smitten he didn't retaliate let's look at this again the Bible says the the the Bible says when he was reviled he reviled not again when he suffered he threatened not but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously can I tell you God has never placed the spirit of retaliation in his people but God wants us to trust him God will the Bible says that vengeance is the Lords that he will repay but I've got an example scripture today that if we served a God that loved his enemies that was us and then he turns around and tells us to love our enemies we better get busy being more like Jesus we better get busy being more like J I listen I I I I I thank my God for our music I thank my God for the the excitement that we pull down the presence of God through praise and through worship but can I tell you where we really show who we are is not when the choir sing and or where we're at church on Sunday morning but who we when we really show who we are is when we're having to look our enemy in the face instead of retaliating under our breath we're saying God it's the hardest thing that I'm doing but God help me to love them God their end is not going to be good God they're not in a relationship listen Christian cannot be enemy against Christian somebody is not a Christian you can't have two people who claim to be Christians and they're enemies together somebody's not a Christian you better figure out out who's the Christian and you better figure out you got to love them because they're end oh my my my my my my the Bible said in verse 24 who his own self bear our sins in his own body on the tree that we being dead to sin should live under righteousness by whose stripes we are healed for for ye were as sheep going astray but now returned unto the shepherd and the bishop of your souls can I tell you something he took his pain loved the world that gave him that pain turned around and cause that pain to be healing we walk up front and we anoint people with oil as the scripture says because we stand on the scripture by his stripes we are healed can I tell you today God would like to bring a lot of healing but you can't hurt you can't hate the people that put the stripe on your back you can't hate the people that wounded you you can't hate the people that mistreated you there's no healing that comes out of retaliation I'm going to get you back for those 39 Stripes but if we can learn to look down from the cross of our life and say father forgive them Father forgive them well I don't know if I mean it or not why don't you say it until you mean it maybe if you started saying it maybe you would mean it after a while maybe it would get down in your spirit I I Lord I I I I forgive them God I forgive them I I I know one time I counseled a person that the the individual that had done them wrong was dead and in the grave that person dead in the grave was never going on this side of Eternity come back and say I'm sorry for what I put you through they were never going to come back and say I'm sorry and the person that was done wrong was never going to be able to look at them and say you've done me wrong and I forgive you so I counseled with this individual and I set two chairs in the office and I said I want you to sit here and we're going to leave this chair empty and I want you to sit here and imagine that this person is sitting before you and I want you to have a conversation with them and in the midst of the conversation I want you to say these powerful words I forgive you I forgive you you said Bill Carpenter I can't I I I I I I just can't inform it in my mouth you know what you're exactly right let me correct myself I can't forgive you but through Jesus Christ I can forgive you if God can give us the help we can forgive anybody of anything that they've done in our lives I'm here to tell you today that's the mission of the great Messiah today is to love us come on can we lift our hands right now can we just ask God to help us receive this word I I forgive I forgive I thank God that we baptize in Jesus name I thank God that we identify ourselves as Apostolic today I thank God for the apostolic Doctrine I thank God for the water baptism in Jesus name I thank God for the evidence I thank God for the sign I thank God for speaking in other tongues I I thank God for all of that but you do realize that being Apostolic is more than just in the way we baptize or receive the Holy Ghost being an Apostolic is to be able to stand there and be preaching to people and at the end of your sermon they grit their teeth and they pick up stones and they begin to Stone you they begin to kill you and to be Apostolic means you're like Stephen as they begin to throw the stones at him the Bible said he looked up into heaven and said I see the glory of God and the Son of God standing the son of man standing on the right hand of God and then the Bible says stepen said these powerful words father forgive them for they know not what they do and then it said and having said this he fell asleep some people can't get a good night's rest because they've not truly forgiven them who have done them wrong but the mission of the Messiah is to lay a an example out before us today if he could love me when I was in my sin I've got to reach down and love others that have done me wrong are y'all understanding what I'm saying today there's healing that comes through forgiveness and let me go back to my counseling session and that individual their life was turned around because they literally was saying you hurt me but through the love of God I forgive you today going back to my text for a moment love your enemies you've heard here say you've heard here say but I'm saying to love your enemies I'm saying bless them that that curse you I'm saying do good to them that hate you pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you verse 45 that you may be the children of your father which is in heaven we are more Christlike when we are forgiving than we are at any other time in our our walk with God we're more Christlike I let you go I release you I forgive you that you may be called the children of your father which is in heaven verse 45 which maketh and I like the way this is written to anybody that believes in evolution I like the way this is written which is in heaven for he maketh his son he could just say he maketh the son but he says I want you to know that's my son up there I created that that belongs to me I control it I control it he maketh his son to rise on the evil and on the good sendeth rain on the just and the unjust let let me show you something today he said that's my son isin that's my son and I control my son and I cause my son to rise on evil and on the good and we talk about the sun we talk about time right we talk about daylight we talk about time I was up this morning I was up this morning and watched the beautiful sunrise I watched the beautiful sunrise and I thought how beautiful it is and how privileged how blessed we are to live where we are at uh we're so scri we're so scriptural sound here I looked out my window and I said I can look un the hills would come up my help so so beautiful but we understand that when the sun comes up that the sun's going to be going down and there's time there there's time there there's only so much daylight they can tell us now when the sun's going to rise and they can tell us when the sun's going to set there's so much there's so much time there's so much just time mentioned here but we can't mention sister Carpenter we can't mention time without mentioning opportunity opportunity Jesus said one time you better walk while it is day why because night cometh when no man can work in other words you better take opportunity of the day that's upon you you better take opportunity of the sunshine that's upon you what was he saying here he says I give the same opportunity to good people as well as evil people I give the same good opportunity for people to repent no one is going to be able to stand before God on that day and say God you didn't give me the opportunity for God God maketh his son to rise on the good and on the evil he gives both the same opportunity he gives us both the same opportunity but what's the difference what did you do with your time that's the question nobody in here has a 24hour 25h hour day nobody in here has a 24-hour day we all have the same amount of time but yet there's a difference that spans across us today why it's simply what have we done with our time you know what a loving God he is in the Book of Revelation there was a woman by the name she's identified I really believe it's more of her spirit than her name she is identified by one of the most wicked women in the Holy Scripture her name is Jezebel she's one of the most wicked women you'll find in both the Old and the New Testament what makes her so wicked she seduced the Servants of God to commit sex ual sins with her but what did God say about her what did God say about her he said these words Jezebel I have given you a time space to repent and she repented not I I just got news for you today this is not some kind of a a a guilt trip I'm trying to put anybody on this is factual this is reality today we all have time doesn't matter if you're righteous or unrighteous we all have time we all have opportunity and can I tell the righteous today stay in the race can I tell the righteous today keep serving God can I tell the righteous today be not weary and well-doing but can I tell the sinner today come running now can I tell the sinner today today is the day of salvation can I tell the sinner today there's no better place and there's no better time right here for you to turn your life over to God time Ecclesiastes chapter number 12 verse number one the wisest man to ever live besides God incarnate is Solomon Solomon says in Ecclesiastes 12 and 1 remember now thy Creator in the the days of thy youth now in the days of thy youth while the evil days come not nor the years draw nigh when thou shalt say I have no pleasure I have no pleasure in them while the Sun or the light or the moon or the Stars be not darkened nor the clouds return after the rain now Solomon is telling young people you better get your foundation for God down while you're young you better do things while you got good health is what in the whole 12th chapter he's talking about you better work while you got Health you better work while you got the the health you better do what you can do now you better study while your mind's bright you better do all these things because he said there's an evil day coming in which you will say I have no pleasure in them and with age come on I'm not trying I'm not I'm I'm just I'm just telling you factual things today with age comes pain of the body I was talking to a minister the other day and he was talking about he was talking about uh uh uh signing up for Social Security and I was talking about my hip problems and and he talking about B Crow shoes are easier to put on and I and and and I told him lawren threatened me with those I and all all these and and I stood there and I I I stopped and I said hey buddy I we've known each other so long we used to talk about which girl we were going to take out and we talked about who we were going to marry and we sent we we we we called each other one of the first people we called when our children were born and our grandchildren were born I said You know here I am talking about a hip replacement I used to talk to you about things that were hip but hey neighbor that's the way life is you ain't going to find a prayer line take care of old age I'm just going to let that settle like a fall we want to find us a TV evangelist going to heal everything about us I'm G tell you something about TV evangelists TV evangelists are like TV dinners they come Frozen and when they fall out they still ain't much count all right let's just understand something right now if you're 80 years old and in this building feeling good you ought to have both hands up in the air right now saying thank you Jesus if you're in this building you're 16 and you're feeling good you ought to have both hands and you ought to stand longer than anybody else today and you ought to say thank God because there's coming a day there's coming a day if time goes on your joints are going to wear out and your eyes are going to wear out and your hearing is going to go out and you better be able to sit and I just like to ask you a question today I just like to ask you a question today what in the world the two atheist sitting at a at a at a rest home on the front porch talk about I can tell you what children of God talk about I said I can tell you what children of God talk about cuz there's something God puts inside of us and I I I I love I I I just really I just literally love this story years ago we went down Madison Ian a faithful elderly lady that attended this church for many years was put in a nursing home down there for her last few years of her life we'd go down there and see IA Neely we'd go down there and see her and I'd walk in I'd say hey sister IA how you doing she'd say how you doing how you doing I'm doing good and we'd sit there and talk for a while and she just Pat my hand I'd Pat around on her and she'd say how's brother Carpenter doing sister Ney I am the carpenter oh oh oh that's right that's right that's right we get talking on and she'd say how's sister cart doing and S this is Sister car things that took her memory took her mind right oh you start talking about the Bible or a song sister NE let's sing it Amazing Grace How Sweet the Sound she's lead off on it saved the rich like me now she couldn't remember who I was for one moment to the next she had a song way down in her heart sister NY is there a scripture that you would like to read well I I don't know if I know any Scripture well let let's start off with this one the Lord is my shepherd that's as far as I got and she took off and I shall not want he leadth me beside the still water he restoreth my soul yay though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil but can I tell you you better get it in you right now you you you better understand it's today that right now is the time it's never too late to come to God are you hearing me today it's never too late to come to God it's never too late well musicians would you come this morning singers would you come remember your creator he maketh he maketh the son whose son is it today help me out congregation whose son is it today huh and he makes it to rise on the just and the unjust he makes it to rise on the good and the evil but he sends rain verse 45 he sends rain on the just and the unjust one man's field receives rain one man's field receives rain brother Wimberly and up from the dirt Rises beautiful red juicy Tomatoes up from the dirt the squash up from the dirt vegetables corn I I like both white and yellow corn all right up from the Earth but the same rain falls on another man's field and all that comes up is Thorns thistles and Briars what's the difference what's in the heart what's in the soil over here Sprouts up corn over here Sprouts up Briars and it's all because of what's in the heart you see today the Holy Ghost has been rainning in this place the Holy Ghost has been raining some of you come today and you know that you need to make a start to live for God and that's why you got a little uneasiness in your throat today that's why your eyes teared up several times is because the Holy Ghost is raining on you today it's raining on you God was not only raining on those people that shouted their way out of the choir off but God was raining down on the man and the woman that walked out of sin last night God's Not only reigning on that person that's morally good and righteous but he's reigning on that person whose lives a scarred and bound by sin the Holy Ghost is rainning upon it if I could just get you to understand today there's a God in here that loves you there's a God in here that cares more about you than you could ever imagine possible and you know what he's saying today if they would just exercise their Free Will and come to me oh how I would let things grow out of their lives things would begin to grow out of their lives would you stand with me right now I'm going to ask every person in here today that knows how to pray to Bow your head with me right now and begin to pray because I believe God's rainning in this room right now I believe God is reigning in this room right now I believe he's rainning today oh God oh God Lord help us God I can only love my enemies if I have your love in my heart oh God oh God I can only forgive them if I have your love in my heart today oh God help me to accept your love right now oh help me to accept your love right now right now God help me to accept your love oh friend today I'm opening this altar up to you right now I'm opening it up to you right now it's not an accident that you're here it's not coincidence that you're here today almighty God orchestrated that you would be here today because he wants to rain on the just and the unjust right now the altar is open I want to invite you to come and kneel in this altar with me right now I want to invite you to come exercise your free will I want you to come maybe years ago you serve God maybe years ago you sered God maybe years ago you were on fire for God and listen to me now you got hurt you got hurt you got hurt come on Church help me pray right now you got hurt you never told anybody about it you never told anybody about it please today pardon me for the personal reference I'm about to make but I feel the Holy Ghost when I said Hur I feel the Holy Ghost stop us for a moment my sister's here if you want bleeding I never told him finally after a little bit my dad came to get a t tool out of the very back of that van and he screamed my name Kenneth Ray what's happened to you nothing dad nothing he said there's blood dripping out of the back of this van I had bled so much that the blood ran down the floor little grooves and ran and was dripping out the back of that van do you know I think there's some of us here today that were hurt and God's come by and we're saying we're all right father we're we're all right father we're all right but he knows we're not all right and he's waiting for you he will not override your wheel some of you this morning have got hurt and but there's healing in this altar right now there's healing there's the sweet love of God but you've got to release yourself and
