thank you so much would you stand with me this evening would you lift up your hands and would you invite the presence of God God is about to speak to you tonight God is about to speak to you God wants to know does he have your permission to speak to you tonight would you just go ahead and lift up your hands right now lift up your voice and say speak to me Lord Lord speak to me tonight God through your word Lord speak to me o God Speak to Me O God tonight through your word Lord God I've been searching for a lot of answers and I haven't found them the Lord you can speak to me God tonight through your word shape me and mold me God lord through your word tonight I'll give you praise and honor and Glory Jesus name The Book of Luke Chapter 11 verse 1 and 2 we continue on our study of Prayer the throne room of God Luke 11 verse number 1. and he came to pass that as he was praying in a certain place when he seized one of his disciples said unto him Lord teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples and he said unto them when ye pray say Our Father which art in heaven Hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done as in heaven so in Earth the word of God is blessed you may be seated tonight we are instructed in the word of God to ask God for his will to be done to ask God for his will to be done Jesus said when you pray and you give me praise and you give me worship I want you to begin to ask for my will for my will to be done as it is in heaven so in Earth in other words he said my will has already been in eternity determined now I know this is this is absolutely mind-boggling um our minds were created by God but we were not created our minds are not created to comprehend eternity it just you know it will it will short-circuit it will overheat because it's not made to comprehend how vast eternity and God is but God says that there is a predetermined will for each individual with the billions of people that are living and that have lived this is where this is where your mind just needs to stop because it'll overheat that God has a will a plan a set of blueprints in heaven that he wants your life to be on this Earth and the only way the blueprints in heaven can be developed on the Earth is for you and I to pray to God thy will be done as it is in heaven so upon the Earth I want to live my life according to the will of God that is recorded and blueprinted in heaven and I know I know you do to help us understand this Jeremiah chapter 1 verse number five Jeremiah was going to struggle with his youth God had called him to be a prophet God had called him to be a prophet and he was struggling with his youth and he was struggling telling the people of Israel how to live where their sins were at he was struggling with this when God found it needful to say to Jeremiah and Jeremiah 1 verse 5. before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee and before thou camest forth out of the womb I Sanctified thee and I ordained thee to be a prophet so God was saying before you were born before you were conceived I already had the plan in heaven that you Jeremiah would be a prophet unto Israel it was already it was already in eternity past he was already preordained and pre-planned so Jeremiah You're simply fulfilling the role on Earth that I plan for you in heaven Psalms 139 verse 14. David said I will praise thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made marvelous are thy works and that my soul knoweth right well my substance was not hid from thee when I was made in secret and curiously wrought in the lower parts of the Earth Thine Eyes did see my substance yet being unperfect and in thy book all my members were written which in continuance were fashioned when as yet there was none of them how precious also are thy thoughts unto me o God how great is the sum of them David is just described to God you saw me developing in the womb when no one had ever laid eyes on me you saw me formed in the womb you saw my members being developed you saw when my arms sprang forth in my legs you saw the development of my ears my nose my eyes my lips you saw all of these things and you begin to write them down and then David said your thoughts about me are great are great and number now I'm telling you this tonight because I would love to wet your appetite to want to begin to live according to God's will in heaven and not your will on Earth because none of us would doubt that God has God has a far better plan for our lives than we do Ecclesiastes 11 and 5. Bears this out Ecclesiastes 11 and 5 as thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child even so knoweth not the works of God who maketh all he said none of you figured out how the bones are growing in the womb none of you got it figured out how that child is developed he said it comes from God it's a it's a it's a mystery it comes from God now I've read all of this to bring us to a man by the name of Jacob we find him in Genesis chapter 25 and verse number 20. you would follow along with me as I read these passages Isaac was 40 years old when he took Rebecca to wife the daughter of Beth UL the Syrian of pedanaram the sister to Laban the Syrian Isaac entreated the Lord for his wife because she was barren I believe that Isaac may have thought that he was going to be in the same situation that his mother and father were in not having children Isaac and Rebecca had been married for 20 years two decades and so Isaac goes to the Lord and Isaac begins to ask the Lord for a child the Bible tells us in verse 22. and that that says that Rebecca did conceive but verse 22 is interesting and the children struggled or wrestled together within her and she said if it be so why am I thus she went to inquire of the Lord so at first they're perplexed of why they're not having children why they're not having children they're perplexed about not having children and so God answers the prayer God answers the prayer and Rebecca is pregnant but then she fills this struggling or this wrestling going on inside of her unusual she may have spoken to several other women that had been pregnant and they may have said to her we have we've never had that struggling on the on the inside on the inside of us and so then they went and they inquired of the Lord and the Bible said in verse 23 and the Lord said unto her two nations are in thy womb two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels the one people shall be stronger than the other people and the Elder Shall Serve the younger so what God began to say is there's two types of people manner there's two types of people in you and these two types of people they're two Nations they're going to represent two totally different nations and then he says the one people shall be stronger one of them are going to be stronger stronger than the other and then an unusual an unusual prophecy was that the Elder which served the younger well that's totally turned around because in that day the culture was the Elder got all the respect the Elder led the way and the younger would serve the Elder but not these two God is telling their lives again God is telling the lives before they're even born before they're even born God is saying already have a plan for these twins I'm already going to do something I already I know their personalities I know they're I know what their disposition I know I know everything I know everything about them and so I'm telling you what they're going I already have a will for them and I'm telling you what they are going to be like we understand in verse 24 at the birth said when her days to be delivered were fulfilled behold there were twins in her womb that's what God Said the first came out red all over like a hairy garment they called his name Esau and after that came his brother out his hand please note this his hand took hold of Esau's heel as he was reaching you do remember there had been a struggle going on uh they have been a rationing going on and now even when they are birthed this jacob who will later be named reaches and gets the heel of Esau and the Bible it called his name Jacob or heel grabber Isaac was three scoring years old when she bear them 20 20 years we know that life went on good choices were made Jacob made some good choices with his life the choice that Jacob made Jacob made the choice to sit around the older men of God and listen to the stories of Jehovah listen to the stories of creation listen to the stories listen to the stories of how God had kept his hand on the people he made good choices Esau his brother had no time to listen to history he had no time he was a man of a field he was a man of Adventure he had no time for Idol setting in tents it was a he was a hunter and um he had no time for those things it was a choice he made but is it amazing that God saw their disposition when they were yet in the womb and God had a will God had a will for their life we know that one day that Esau came in from the field and he had been unsuccessful at getting a Kill we don't know how many days he was out or how many days he went hungry but he was so hungry and that's when Jacob Was preparing a bowl of lentils Esau would ask Jacob for that bowl of lentils and um Jacob would make the request I'll give you the bowl but you've got to swear to me the birthright you have got to swear to me this Birthright and um the Bible said that Esau kicked up a little bit but he reasoned it out what good would a Birthright do to me what good would being the leader of my family spiritually the leader of the tribe spiritually if I'm dead and so he thought nothing about it he sold his Birthright to Jacob for a bowl of beans Jacob did acquire the birthright legally he did acquire the birthright legally he was a good choice it was a good choice he acquired it legally you know even when you're born with a disadvantage when you're born with a disadvantage if you desire the right things in heaven has got for you God Will Make A Way for you to get what you were deprived from at Birth one of the worst things that can happen to all of us is for us to lose our desire there is not an event on Earth that can dwarf God's will for you in heaven not not not one thing can divorce but you've got to keep your desire going it's a good it was a good choice Jacob Jacob I would stand and I would applaud you tonight for Desiring at your birth you were reaching for that Birthright at your birth nine months in your mother's womb you struggled you wrestled to be the first you wrestled to be the firstborn but you were deprived that nature deprived you of that but even after you were born you would not lose your desire to reach forward to try to get it Church please pray that you always keep your desire to live for God alive don't ever lose your desire if you lose your desire you're as good as dead but in the muck and the mire of life keep your desire to live for God to live for God to live for him Jacob I would applaud you but there's another chapter of your life Jacob there's another chapter of your life that I do not applaud you your desire turns into ambition and ambition is can be a little different than than desire ambition doesn't care what it takes to get where it's going ambition doesn't care who it steps on who it hurts who it wounds as long as I can get where I'm going Jacob in this chapter of your life I hang my head because when your father who was old and dying and blind said to Esau it's time for me to give you the blessing now the blessing was different than the birthright the birthright simply meant you got twice as much inheritance but you had to leave the family spiritually whereas the blessing was intended to go along with the birthright the blessing is kind of like the anointing it's kind of like that anointing that comes the blessing was intended to be upon the birthright but Esau has sowed the birthright but I don't think Esau was really that disheartened because he wasn't a spiritual man to begin with but I do believe he was looking forward to having do always to fall on his fields I do think that he was looking forward to having the wind always in his sails I do think he was looking forward to having the favor of God upon his life and always having his hand at the neck of his enemy but Isaac would say to Esau go to the field and get Venison and bring me Savory meat that my soul may eat and bless you but the problem was Rebecca heard when Isaac her husband said this and of course as you read scripture you will find that Esau was Isaac's favorite and Jacob was Rebecca's favorite and so when Rebecca heard Isaac say go get me meat that I may bless you the wills and Rebecca's mind begin to turn I want my Jacob to have that blessing I want my Jacob to have the blessings of God upon his life and so Rebecca calls Jacob in and says your father is about to die and is about to bless Esau but I want you to get the blessing go to the go to the flock and get two young kids and prepare them bring them in that you may serve it to your father and that you may receive the blessing he said well mom there's just and I'm kind of adding to this but it's it's I'm not taking away from it I'm just kind of putting it where he says mom there's just one problem I'm a smooth man I'm a smooth man and my brother Esau is a very hairy man and said although my father is blind he can still feel and when I go in there with that bowl of with that that Venison and I try to deceive my way in my father's gonna feel me and he's going to know that I'm a deceiver he's going to put a curse on me he's going to put a curse she said I got you covered I've got one of Esau's coats smells just like a field I don't know what that smells like but smells just like a field out here I've got one of his coats I've got you covered the hide from the goats that you will kill I'll take it I'll wrap some of the Hide around your hands and around the back of your neck can I stop here for a moment and tell you something that anything you have to deceive your way into to get is not God's will anything that you have to be anybody other than who you are is not God's will and um just because this chapter is in here doesn't mean it was the will of God just because it's in here doesn't mean it's the will of God it's the chapter that I wrote I wrote in my Bible today it's the chapter that I call it the chapter of deception because Jacob did exactly like his mother said he went and got the venison the goats he prepared them he wrapped skins around his hands put his brother's coat on put skins around the back of his neck walked into his own dying blind father and of course Isaac knew something was up he comes in he says I've got the meal now father and he said how did you get it so quickly my son and he said God hath given me favor isn't it amazing some people can get so deceived that they'll even start top bringing God into the conversation went on through this and went on through this and even Isaac knows something's up and he come here a little closer let me feel you let me feel you well I can just hear Jacob's heart beating I mean smell is smell of Esau's jacket but the voice the voice is Jacobs he said no I'm Esau I mean he saw Jacob or Isaac ate the meal and placed that blessing over what he thought was Esau but was really Jacob and the Bible says that Every Blessing that the Jacob was scarcely out the door scarcely and about that time Esau comes in and he's got the Venison and he says Dad father I'm here and the Bible says that Isaac began to tremble he began to shake and he said who who just came here and got the blessing who was that that just came and the Bible says that Esau lifted up his voice and cried with a bitter cry he knew that Jacob had come and deceived now once again follow me closely just because his chapters in the Bible does not mean it's God's will does not mean that it was God's will there could have been other ways that Jacob could have got the blessing but God has never and will never use deceptive means to get his will done in heaven if you want to know about his will you've got to walk under the banner of Truth if you want to know what God has planned for you open your Bible get the truth in your life God will never bless a lie never we see what it calls because Jacob and Rebecca did this the Bible says that Esau let it be known he said when my father dies I'll spend a few weeks Mourning and when the morning is over I'll kill Jacob I'll kill him I'll take his life I'll take his life Rebecca heard what Esau said in Rebecca came to Jacob she said Jacob my son you've got to leave you you've got to leave you've got to you you've got to leave the home you've got to you've got to leave this place because Esau is going to kill you you've got to leave look how deceiving a deceiving spirit moved Jacob from his own home so there Jacob had to take off running for his life we find him now in Genesis 28. in verse 10. Genesis 28 and verse 10. it says and Jacob went out from Bathsheba and went toward heron and he lighted upon a certain place and carried there all night because the son was set and he took the stones of that place and put them for his pillows and lay down in that place to sleep and he he Dreamed a Dream now chapter 27 was not God's will chapter 27 was not in God's will but I want you to know that God can give you a chapter 28. of a vision if you're Desiring to know what God's will is for your life some of you are here tonight maybe most of us are here who have a chapter 27 in their life you've got a chapter that you don't really like to go back and read amen and you may be seated the Clapping is deafening here tonight we've got a chapter 27 in our lives that we look back on and we wish to God we would have never written chapter 27. but what is written is written but God will always bless a man or a woman who has a desire and he'll say if you've got a desire to know my will my will can become greater than your mistakes down here on this Earth if you want to know my will through prayer you can know my will through prayer even though you've got a chapter 27 that was totally deceiving I'll give you chapter 28. Jacob runs for his life verse 12 he dreamed and behold a ladder set up on the earth the top of it reached to heaven and behold angels of God ascending and descending upon it behold the Lord stood above it and said I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father and the god of Isaac the land were on thou lies to thee will I give it and to thy seed and thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth and thou shalt tread abroad to the west and to the East and to the north and to the South and in thee and in thy sea shall all the families of the earth be blessed you know what God is just doing God is just telling Jacob you now have the birthright and you now have the blessing wait a minute God shouldn't there be repentance somewhere wait a minute God shouldn't this man have to pay for what he's done God says yes and God says he will but I want Jacob to know when he is 20 years and you follow this Jacob is going to serve 20 years under the house of Laban and Layman is you think Jacob was a deceiver Laban was the master of all masters of all masters of deception Jacob would serve 20 years under Laban for one day of deception so the reason that God could give him a promise was because God wanted Jacob to take the promise of the blessing end of the 20 years of the consequences don't give up in the years of your consequences don't give up if you have not sought God if you have not walked according to the principles of God if you haven't sown the right seeds in your life I'm sorry but you're going to have to live a season of time having to always put up with bad fruit that you planted you don't bring your children up in church you don't bring up your children in church please don't get deceived to think if you come four Sundays in a row they're going to automatically turn around the Holy Ghost is a great experience but faithfulness is what changes your life God how can you do this I'll tell you how this man is going to live 20 gruesome years under the hands of Laban and I want him to know under his consequences that there's a promise of him being a great man he promises Jacob this and Jacob makes a vow Jacob then finds his way to laban's house he falls in love with laban's daughter Rachel it must have been a custom of that day it must have been a custom of that day it says the first time that Jacob kissed Rachel he lifted up his voice and cried I must have been customary that day I didn't cry when I kissed him sister Cartman for the first time my feet did tingle but I didn't cry all right I don't know if she had stayed with me long but we had a kiss it had to be customary the guy was in love with her he goes to labor and he says and this is just the Bible days how much I want to marry I want to marry Rachel how much how much how much oh Layman says seven years you served me for seven years after you served me for seven years Rachel will be yours and the Bible said brother Knuckles he served her seven years but he seemed like a few days because he loved her so much yeah man he was just counting down the days and Jacob's room he had his little marks on his wall man I I got in all these years seven years went by come on Laban give me Rachel well in those days we'd have lighted buildings things were not well lit Jacob goes into the tent this is in the Bible Jacob goes in the tent that night there's not good Lighting in the tent and um in the morning when he flings open the tent flap and looks it's Leah it's your sister what what lay but can't you hear him lay back Stomps up to his house Laban opens the door what is it Jacob you Deceiver you're a Deceiver you gave me uh listen listen listen listen it would have been right for me to give Rachel first it would only be right for me to give you Leah first and and said come on Jacob serve me another seven years and I'll give you Rachel and he did 14 years and then he worked for him he worked on we worked on laban's Farm and Laban was always changing the wages because Jacob would say Okay father-in-law other spotted cattle are mine all the solid color Cavaliers because naturally you're supposed to have they would birth more solid color but what began to happen they begin to have more spotted and so Laban would look out at the end of the year and he'd say hey I changed my mind I changed my mind as a matter of fact Genesis 31-7 says it like this he says now this is Jacob talking to Rachel because he's leaving the farm in Genesis 31 7 he says and your father hath deceived me and changed my wages 10 times I think Jacob 20 years more than paid for one night of deception but you know sometimes God allows what we have done to come back on us to help us understand how it feels to help us understand how it actually feels but the time of restoration came the time that Jacob was to go back God said in Genesis 31 3 after 20 years the last thing I heard from my brother Esau was he's going to kill me God gave me a promise that I would come back to my father's house in peace and in Genesis 31 and 3 the Bible said and the Lord said unto Jacob return into the land of thy fathers and to thy kindred and I will be and I will be with thee so it's time to go back can I tell you something God has always had a time for you to come back walk with God a little cold prayer life in need of restoration God is using this Wednesday night to tell you why don't you come on back why don't you come on back and start that prayer life again build that desire to live for me again come on Jacob it's time for you to it's time for you to it's time for you to come back and um Jacob knew that he had to face his past and Jacob began to prepare offerings begin to prepare offerings for Esau all the way down till we come to the place to where the Bible tells us that Jacob was left Jacob was left alone Jacob Jacob was left alone he got everything situated and uh he got by himself he got all alone Genesis 32 24. and Jacob was left alone and there Wrestled a man with him until the breaking of day I almost I want to probably spend the rest of my Bible lesson on this Jacob was left alone I sure do love corporate prayer here at church I sure do love the season of prayer that we all gather up around the altar and pray but I just can't have all corporate prayer in my life I've got to have prayers that are all alone all alone there's some things I need to tell God about myself and I'm speaking on behalf of all you tonight there's some things we need to tell God about our lives that I don't want somebody hearing me I don't want somebody hearing me be like those three preachers that were out on a boat one of the preachers said it's why don't we confess our weaknesses when we confess our weaknesses and uh one of the preachers said he had a money problem one of the preachers confessed he had a woman problem the third one kept his mouth shut come on now you've got to confess up tell us what your weakness is he said no I can't do it he's no you've got to we've told you our weaknesses you tell us yours he said my witness is I'm a gossiper and said I can't wait to get to land to tell what you all have done I may not want you eavesdropping on my prayer I'm talking I'm speaking on behalf of you all tonight too there's some times I need to be alone in prayer matter of fact our hearts are deceitfully wicked if I can only pray in a crowd and not at home by myself I might be a Pharisee that wants everybody to think I'm just some big old prayer Warrior of a man or of a woman but when you pray all alone to all alone to your father who seeth in secret there's nobody there to hear you there's nobody there to applaud you there's nobody there that's going to say I saw him get up at 5 30 and go in and get beside the couch and ring the prayer bells of Heaven there's nobody going to see you but Jacob was left alone the Bible says in Matthew 6 and 6 but thou when thou prayest enter into thy closet and when thou has shut thy door pray to thy father which is in secret and thy father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly and Jacob was left alone and they're Wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day watch this please follow this closely and there Wrestled a man I see bookends here I see two births taking place he came into this world rastly did he not he came into this world wrestling there was something about him on the inside of his mother's womb that he wrestled with Esau that carnality he wrestled with that man that had no time for God he wrestled with that man of the field but that first birth he lost he lost the first birth because the man of the flesh was born first and when Jacob was born he had to reach out as if to say I know I've lost but I'm still Reaching Forward but God gave him an opportunity I see this right here and there Wrestled a man with him I see this right here as God saying Jacob let me introduce you to prayer prayer is your second chance in life to win prayer is your second chance to win stop crying about your losses and start praying about your future wins in your life prayer is a game changer prayer is the halftime of your life when you go into the locker room and you're beat up and you're behind the score but you get into the prayer and you rearrange your life I've been missing church I've been missing Bible reading I've been missing praising the Lord I've been missing being dedicated that Esau has taken control of my life but I'm putting Esau in the back it's time for a prayer to come out in the second quarter and prayers gonna win prayer is a game changer Church prayer can change the attitude of your spirit you can have stinking thinking but get in the sweetness of Prayer and God will sweeten you up you can have a Sour Puss attitude about everything look like been baptized in pickle juice and born on the dark side of the moon but let me get in a sweet time of prayer with God let me get all alone with God in prayer and God begins to say I know you lost Kenny but I'm giving you a second opportunity to have a win in your life I've given you the second they all said you weren't the firstborn but prayer is going to step you out and prayers going to cause you do y'all see this tonight y'all see this tonight they're Wrestled a man didn't say listen to me it does not say he wrestled with the man it said and there Wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day that's time until the breaking of the day they Wrestled a man it was as if God was saying come on Jacob let's do this again you remember don't you when you were in the womb you were trying to overcome Esau the flesh you lost you've got a chapter 27 of deception come on Jacob let's see what you got I just feel like God is saying to some of you tonight with a chapter 27. come on let's see what you got come on let's see what you got ah I'll give you a second chance I'll give you a time I'll give you I'll give you a second chance if you want to did you hear me I said if you want to I don't go wrestle with nobody that don't have a desire to change but if you've got a desire to change come on come on let's just see what you got let's read on and when he saw that he prevailed not against him he touched the hollow of his thigh and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was at a joint and he wrestled with him two things oh I hope you get this I do if you're going to have a changed life how long am I going to have to pray until I have to pray until Jesus said Terry in Jerusalem how long until you know how long I'm going to pray about my habit until I have victory you know how long I'm going to pray about unlaws lost souls in my family until they're baptized you know how long I'm going to pray I'm going to Simply pray until when he saw that he prevailed not against him I can't wear him down the Bible said he touched the Hall of his thigh now I'm going to introduce you to pain can I tell you something prayer is not all about some sweet little word you say sometimes prayer is an endurance and sometimes prayer is very painful prayers very painful I'll introduce you to Jesus and being in agony he prayed more earnestly and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling to the ground can I tell you there are some things in God that you're going to have to pray with endurance and you're going to have to pray in pain I'll give you another instance they laid many stripes upon Paul and Silas and cast them into the prison charging the Jailer to keep them safely but at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang Praises unto God stop waiting for favorable conditions to get your praise out stop waiting for chill bumps and just something to help you it's going to be the most enduring thing you've ever done because you're going to pray and pray and pray and pray I shall not stop praying I shall not be denied prayer is my second chance to have a brand new beginning in my life pray Church and when he saw that he prevailed not he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh and he wrestled with him he said let me go verse 26 for the day breakthrough and he said I will not let thee go except thou bless me and he said unto him what is thy name and he said Jacob and he said thy name shall be called No More Jacob but Israel for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men and has prevailed and Jacob asked him and said tell me I pray thee thy name and he said wherefore is it that thou Dost ask after my name and he blessed him there and Jacob called the name of the place penile for I have seen God face to face and my life is preserved and as he passed over penual the son Rose upon him and he halted upon his thigh I am Telling You prayer is our second chance for a new birth prayer is your second chance to get a new name prayer is your second chance it is your second chance to get a new walk and prayer is your second chance to make right what you've done wrong in chapter 27. because Esau said I'm going to kill you but he didn't do it because he looks down yonder way I've not seen him in over 20 years and there comes my brother my younger brother and all of a sudden Esau says what's wrong with him what's wrong with him he's dragging his leg he's limping and then prayer calls Jacob to Bow seven times before he got into Esau and prayer caused Jacob it's called Esau my Lord my brother and prayer caused Esau and it touched his heart and what had been planned Esau had set up waiting to get the final word but now Esau finds himself wrapped upon Jacob and Jacob wrapped upon Esau and they're weeping and they're crying to each other and it's a little will come and visit you he will see that you you weren't here at church your wife or husband wouldn't intimidate you to go down or wouldn't intimidate you to say something God will look down and God
