come on if you're glad you found that friend in Jesus would you love him right now with me come on if you're glad you found that friend in Jesus you're glad you found that friend in Jesus amen what a friend we have in Jesus what a friend we have in him if you have your Bibles let's quickly go to the Book of Romans chapter number 8 and verse number 24 and and while you're looking for that I want to bring a special prayer request um it would appear that our granddaughter Windor Kate uh last week uh was bitten by some type of spider and um as the week as the week went on um I guess after a few days she decided to tell her parents and uh she began to run a fever and have a um her heart begin to race and so she spent uh part of the night last night in the emergency room and while they were there they found out that she has pneumonia in of her lungs and so if you would lift up she is um she is got a very high fever right now as I speak but I read in my bible where jesus went into the house of Simon Peter and his mother-in-law had a high fever and that he touched her and that The Fever left and then I believe that he's the same yesterday today and forever more so could we just lift up a prayer right now father God In The Name of Jesus touch Windsor Kate right now Lord bring that fever down in her body Lord clear up that pneumonia and that lung today God take all the infection from that spiderbite away from her God we believe that you're able to do exceedingly abundantly and above all that we can ask or unthink Lord God we bring our petitions before you right now Lord God touch my granddaughter touch her right now in jesus' name in Jesus name Lord touch her Lord God be up on the word that I'm going to preach today Lord let the word bring about a positive result Lord let Hearts respond to the word this morning and we'll give you the praise and the honor and the glory in Jesus name we pray amen amen Romans chapter 8 verse number 24 for we are saved by hope but hope that is seen is not hope for what a man seeth why does he yet hope for but if we hope for that we see not then do we with patience wait for it say Amen to the reading you may be seated in Jesus name today I want to minister this is the month of August and we have been ministering on Hope every message that you have heard and every message that you will hear this month will emphasize the wonderful subject of Hope of hope you see the Bible and I my my title today is the vision the vision of Hope the vision of Hope Paul Paul writes in Romans and he makes the statements for we are saved by hope we are saved by hope that alone should cause us to want to thoroughly know what hope means in the Bible for if we're saved by something that's eternally eternally important to us we are saved by hope but then he says but hope that is seen verse 24 is not hope in other words if you can see this it is not hope because why would you hope for something why would you hope for something that you see there would be no need for you to hope for you have what you have hoped for but the Bible says but if we have hope verse 25 for that we see not then something interesting happens then do we with patience with patience we wait for it you see the role that Hope plays in our walk with God and we know that hope is very important I hear a lot of people and it's so true I want to go to a church where there's love and oh yes sir I I want to I want to I want to always know that fac marville is a place of love but you know the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13 and13 and now abideth faith hope and charity now he did say that the greatest of these the greatest of these is charity is love he did say he did say that but he is saying this statement in a context that one day one day the Lord is going to come back and he he he's talking about on on the day the Lord comes back for his church and he's talking about things if you read the 13th chapter he's talking about things that will cease on that day that will when we see him face to face things that will that will that will cease on that day but until that day he gives us three wonderful things and now abideth Faith Hope and charity as if to say church I want you to hold on to these three words faith hope and charity now as we begin to look at how important hope is in our lives hope is that thing that is expecting things to change I am living with the expectation with the the expectation now please don't get this misunderstood this is not make a wish this is make a hope there's a difference between a wish and a hope I wish this would happen I I wish this well when it comes to Salvation I'm not on a wish I'm not I'm not serving a Genie in a Bottle I'm serving a God in a book and there's a difference between the proverbial Genie in a Bottle that makes a wish and a God in a book that makes a promise and so I'm not I'm not it's not wishful thinking today it is in hope it is that spirit that God is going to change things now let me read a few Psalms for you today Psalms 146 and verse 5 I want you to look at this very closely the very first word word of Psalms 146:5 tell me what that first word is everybody tell me don't you know that's what this world is living for right now happy I just want to be happy well I'm glad because here is the prescription happy is he that hath the god of Jacob for his help whose hope is is in the Lord his God can I tell you if you really want to find happiness in this world you got to find the god of Jacob and the god of Jacob will be your help but you got to also know that he's not only my help that's the present he's also my hope that's the future because I have hope before I have help I hope and the help comes and I'm glad to know today that things with God will get better things with God will get better I guess you could label me today as a realist I'm just a realist I just I I accept life as it is I don't uh I I I I just accept life as it is but I also inject Hope and Faith and love into life our life is filled with ups and downs our life is filled with challenges and battles let me say it again our lives are filled with ups and downs unexpectancies our life is filled with challenges life does not have a cruise control your car may have a cruise control but life doesn't have a cruise control your car may have a gadget that can keep you in the lanes your car may have a gadget that you can program it and just keep your hand on the wheel and it's going to take you wherever you want to go but life doesn't have that kind of gadget life is filled I'm going to say it again with ups and downs life is filled with struggles life is filled with challenges as we grow older there's more challenges that come our way as we have more people in our family there's more challenges that come that way because you not only care about yourself in life you start caring about those that are around you and when you care for those that around you when one member suffers we all suffer and so life is filled with ups and downs and life is filled with challenges and battles but hope but hope is brought in to Life's ups and downs life hope is brought in to Life's battles don't ever go into a battle without hope don't ever go into a struggle without hope you don't have to cope you got to have hope you don't you don't have to enter into a situation in your life and say this is just how it's going to be I have to accept that life is just a bummer I used to be happy I used to have a great life but this event happened and now I've just got to endure to the end I don't believe in that friend I believe in whatever you're going through or I'm going through that we serve the god of Hope if I'm going to step out on the battlefield I'm going to step out on the battlefield with hope and hope says it's not always going to be this way hope says it's not always going to be a struggle now let me just tell you something this morning I'm not just preaching about this current world that we live in because the Bible says if in this life only we have hope we are all men most miserable well I hope I'm healthy well I hope the marriage works well I hope the kids stay I hope the kid I hope the kids I hope the kids grow up to be successful I hope I hope I hope and that's all left up to their will whether they want to remain in God's hands or or whatever I just mentioned but I have a hope that goes beyond a car and a house and a bank account and a family I have a hope in an eternal home I have a hope that one day things are going to change you really do and they're going to change quickly in the moment in the twinkling of an eye at the trumpet when the trumpet sounds we're going to be changed that's my hope that's that's the hope that the child of God can can I just tell you today this world is not my home I'm just passing through my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue come on worship him right now life has its ups and downs and life has its challenges and life has its battles listen to what Paul says in first Thessalonians 1 Thessalonians chap 5 and verse number 8 look closely to what Paul said says but let us who are of the day be sober putting on the breastplate of Faith he's talking about a soldier stepping out on the battlefield he's talking about we're the day we're in a battle right now and he's talking about a soldier that is putting on his armor but let us who are of the day be sober putting on the breastplate of faith and of love and for a helmet the hope of our salvation can I tell you there's one place you need hope you need hope in your mind you need hope in your thoughts you need hope in what you meditate upon you need hope and what you feed your mind it is going to turn around there will be a better day God's got a hold of this situation I am coming out of this it's not the will of God for me to wake up beat down every morning of my life it is not the will of God for me to always feel like I'm the tail and not the head it is God's will for me to be more than a conqueror to be more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus it's God's will for me to sing again it's God's will for you to laugh again it's God's will for you to have joy again but I'm going to tell you you're in a battle and the enemy knows if I'm going to get him I got to get him in the head any good boxer knows The Knockout blow does not come with a punch to the chest or a punch to the shoulder a boxer nose if I I'm going to knock out my opponent I got to put a Punch To The Head I and proverbially preferably I got to do a punch to the jaw and that's where the enemy wants to punch us at today he wants to punch Us in what we're saying he wants to punch Us in what we're singing he wants to give you spiritual locked jaw when it comes to singing the songs of Zion you ever notice you can get them songs of the world in your mind and you can't get them out but try getting a song of Zion in your mind there's no beautiful song this morning Our Father who art in heaven Hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven can I tell you when I step out on the battlefield I'm going to put the helmet of salvation I'm going to put the helmet so let the enemy come let the enemy come and let him do some boxing I have the helmet of salvation upon me you see today you and I are in a conflict we're in a conflict between the natural sight and the spiritual sight we are in a conflict between what we can see naturally and what we can see spiritually the battle between what we can see in the natural and what we can see in the spiritual there is a battle what you can see in the natural and what you can see in the spiritual spiritual things are not seen with the natural eyesight you cannot see spiritual things with with the natural eyesight but this is where this is where faith comes in I want you to stay with me for a moment please you cannot see spiritual things with your natural eyesight but this is where faith comes in for the Bible plainly says in John 1:18 no man has seen God at any time the only begotten son which is in the bosom of the father he hath declared him man naturally naturally man could not see God until God took on flesh man didn't have the ability to see God the five senses of man you cannot see God until God took on flesh John 1 And1 in the beginning was the word and the Word was with God and the Word was God John 1:4 and the Word was made flesh and dwelt Among Us and look at this please and we beheld we saw his glory the glory as of the only begotten of the father full of grace and truth man naturally cannot see God until God became a man and when God became flesh man we were able to see him and behold his glory the Bible says that the word Jesus Christ is the word made flesh so what do I have today I have the written I I got I'm going to hold it because I want you to know this is no ordinary book Because of its author its author is God it is no ordinary book just like would you agree age with me today Jesus was no ordinary man and if Jesus because he is the word of God made flesh is no ordinary man please look at the book today this is no ordinary book this is not a a book about stories or just history this is God breathed and when handled properly when handled properly it transforms lives when handled properly it changes Hearts when handled properly it gives Direction to you and I you see if I went up on the piano I cannot play the piano I do not have the skills of playing the piano I could go up there and bang around on a few keys but I couldn't lead anybody in any kind of song I could bang around on the keys but my daughter and others here in the church they're skilled they can get up there and they don't even have to say the word they can begin to play and you know they're playing Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a richet like me how is that they know where to touch the keys just the right place I'm afraid today that there's too many people that don't know how to touch the keys in the right place how many keys on the keyboard are important so why say some that are beating on the keyboard that some of these keys don't belong in the Bible anymore how can men that are trying and how can people that are trying to tell you and get up how could anybody in the right mind get up and say the Old Testament is no longer for us today we don't have then there's a lot of things that we can we can cut out about the Bible it really didn't happen uh there's never been documented a fish that could swallow a man and keep a man alive for three days sister Sutton there's never been documented a fish that could keep a man alive for three days well the the Bible said that God prepared a great fish didn't have to be one the one that made fish in the beginning just said well I'm going to make one he'll be the first submarine and I'll send him down because uh uh you know Jonah needs to go to well University he needs to be taught a few lessons here how in the world how in the world can you get the beating around on this book and say well Genesis doesn't matter and exodus doesn't matter and the Old Testament prophets doesn't matter how are you going to know that a virgin shall conceive and be with child if you don't touch Isaiah and play Isaiah real good how can you know that Jesus is coming back with 10,000 of his Saints if you don't go over there play Zachariah real good can I tell you something today this ain't no ordinary book today if we can touch this book on the right keys while it'll bring a demoniac out of the tombs it it'll it it'll it'll bring an alcoholic out of the it it'll bring a harlot out and make a Sunday school teacher out of it if we oh my God if we can touch this book you got a trouble marriage touch this book in the right place you got a suicidal thought come running and touch this book in the right place and it'll play for you well preacher you're about to put me to sleep on this message called hope oh I hope I'm not pardon the pun cause in this book Psalms 11949 says this remember the word unto thy servant upon which thou Hast caused me to Hope Oh yes ah I will never leave you nor forsake you I will be with you always even to the end of the world oh God I hold on to that hope that is in the word of God I hold on I hold on to that hope that is in the word of God God look at how troubled this world is right now oh yes be of good cheer little children in this life you shall have tribulations but be of good cheer I have overcome the world and the joy that you have the world didn't give it to you and the world can't take it away I have a hope and let me preach to you this morning every child of God is healed either temporarily or eternally every child of God is healed because in that City there's no need of the Sun or the moon for the lamb is the light thereof there's no more death in that City and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes oh friend I'm telling you today God will either heal you temporarily or God will give you the ultimate healing that cancer will never invade oh let me read on today let me read on today Psalms 11981 Psalms 11981 my soul fth for thy salvation but I hope in thy word Psalms 11914 Thou Art my Hiding Place and my shield I hope in thy word Psalms 130 and verse verse number five wait for the Lord my soul doth wait and in his word do I hope can I tell you something today if you're struggling right now financially and I and and and I'm I'm touching on temporal things and eternal things today but it you're struggling right now because evidently evidently what we're hearing in the world is a lot of financial struggle going on right now a lot of Financial struggle people people can't afford gasoline and bread and rent and all of that and I I'm not I'm not making fun of it I'm not belittling it but the Bible says we are not of this world well wait a minute brother Co you need to explain that I'm let me explain it with the old brother Prophet Elijah Elijah could live through three and a half years of a drought when everybody was in a drought all around him he served the god of Hope and the god of Hope hope had a raven bird to bring him bread and meat every morning and every evening and more than likely the raven bird got the bread and meat from Jezebel's kitchen that's probably where he got the bread and meat can I tell you the God that I serve says bring ye all the tithe into the storehouse and prove me now here with sayth the Lord if I won't open up to you the windows of Heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive I know in the natural you say I I can't afford to tithe I I can't afford to give 10% I can't afford to give an offering but when it comes to God you can't afford not to do that you you you can't afford you you can't afford not and and let me let me touch on something uh there there's an erroneous doctrine that wants to tell you well tithing was in the Old Testament and and 10% was in the Old Testament and we're to give but we're not to give 10% because tithing was in the Old Testament now let me ask you does that really make sense would it really make sense that did God do more for man in the old I said did God do more for man in the Old Testament than he did in the new which did God do more for man in the Old Testament he gave lambs and sheep and goats and Bullocks he made the animals there were his to give he gave animals as a blood sacrifice but in the New Testament he God became flesh and gave His only begotten son is that not more so I'm going to say to those that want to say well I'm not going to tie 10% then evidently you are tie than more than 10% because it wouldn't really make sense to give less to a god that's give more to you but tithing tithing is in the New Testament Jesus endorsed tithing in the New Testament he endorsed tithing in the new T tithing is in the New Testament giving offering is in the New Testament as a matter of fact giving offering in the New Testament is put is put under how well you're prospering if you're prospering bountifully your offerings ought to be bountifully and uh you you give according you give according to that but I'm not in the world well I'm not in the world I listen I I'm I'm I'm not endorsing Republican I'm not endorsing Democrat I'm not endorsing tea party I'm not endorsing uh anybody's party today but I'm telling you if your hope is in any of those I feel sorry for you if your anticipation is in November things are going to turn around I feel sorry for you that's politics friend we're in the Church of the Living God as a matter of fact I don't have to be voted in I am the omnipresent I am the omnipotent you can't vote me in because you didn't vote me out you can't you can't do any of the above of his kingdom there shall be no end Rome came to an end the United States of America will come to an end Great Britain will come to an end Russia will come to an end but the kingdom of the Church of the Living God will never come to an end that's why we call him king of kings and Lord of lords Lord come on Hope in God today give him a praise right now and hope in God oh let me hurry let me hurry let me hurry I was praying last week I was praying last week and this thought came to my mind has to do with young people it has to do with older people this thought came into my mind you know there's a lot of lures and attractions of sin that destroy a lot of people Allure you ever wonder why they call a fishing bait aure it's not real it's not real it's metal it's not real it's plastic it's not a real small fish swimming through the pond or the lake it's a lur it's plastic it's got a hook it's there to and I know I'm insulting your intelligence today but it's it's there to lure those fish don't look around and say m man ain't you hungry for a piece of Steel hey slippery aren't you hungry for a piece of metal that fish looks at that going through the water and perceives that it's food bites it and before you know it it's hooked and Drug to the surface it's the same thing with sin it's the same thing it's the same thing with sin it's the same thing with sin sin is nothing more than a Allure sin is not real Sin has never delivered what it promises never it never does deliver what it promises and in our walk with God especially if you were in a church when you were young and now you're older lur were fascinating to you as a matter of fact sin entered because of Genesis 3 and 6 look at Genesis 3 and 6 and when the woman what's it say saw she saw the lur but she forgot about the consequence see when you're being lured you you forget about the consequence the consequence to biting the lure was in the day that you eat there of you shall surely die Genesis 3:6 and when she and when the woman saw how about a man that ended in an ugly situation Joshua 7:21 when I saw among the spoils a goodly babylonish garment 200 shekels of silver and a wedge of gold of 50 shekels weight then I coveted them and took them and behold they are HID in the earth in the midst of my tent and the silver under it who's it talking about aen aen achen was specifically told please listen to me please please listen to me achen was specifically told aen Jericho's coming down and when when Jericho's coming down don't touch anything in it it's a curse it's a curse everything in Jericho is a curse except the silver and gold pick up the silver and gold and bring it into the treasury of the house of the Lord don't touch any of the matter of fact he said it this way don't touch any of the accursed thing lest you become ACC curse and trouble your family but what did a can do when he saw the lure he took a babylonius garment he took the silver and the gold and took it home to his tent what should have went in the treasury of the house of God went in his own tent what should have never been touched was a babylonish garment or dress that the Israelite was not to dress in but later when Israel could not win a victory over AI God said to Joshua get up from praying Israel has sinned The Story Goes On and Joshua calls achen and says achen what have you done watch it again it's my it's it's what I just read you what did you do aen he said when I saw I covered him and I took the story ends with achen his wife his children his family being stoned and being burnt when I saw come on Samson judges 16 And1 then Samson went to Gaza and saw there a harlot and went in unto her Josh judges 14 And1 and Samson went down to Timnath and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines judges 16 and4 it came to pass afterward that Samson loved a woman in the valley of zoric whose name was Delilah I'm going to tell you something sin works this way you'll put your eyes on that which you know is wrong I believe that Samson knew a harlot was wrong I believe that he knew that that woman in Timnath was wrong but if you look at what's WR wrong long enough you'll fall in love with it that's why the Bible says set no Wicked thing before thine eyes if it's wrong Church let's keep our eyes off of it because what we keep looking at that we know is wrong will eventually fall in love with he fell in love with Delilah and the Bible said that Delilah was the one that schemed behind his back and brought the Philistines in it's interesting here do you know I believe a lot of time we look at God's judgment as God wanting to put a fatal blow to our life life God wanting to put a fatal blow to our lives we look at God's judgment when Jud you know sometimes the famine in the land was the best thing that could have happened to that prodical son the famine was the best thing could happen to him the hog pin was the best thing that could happen to him why because it turned his mind back to his God you hear me sometimes I think we're a lot like I think we're a lot like Jonah's crew in that boat Jonah told him he said I'm the reason the storm's going on I'm I'm the reason we're in this storm I I'm the reason we're in this storm and the Bible said they rode that much harder to bring the ship to land they were rowing against the Judgment of God God was go it was God's will for Jonah to go overboard for that fish to swallow him so that Jonah could get his heart right be spit out on the ground and go preach to a bunch of Sinner people that needed God because judgment was coming to them can I tell you something when hard times comes to those that we're praying to get in the church don't pray them out of their hard time keep praying till they give their heart to God God takes sleep from their eyes take rest from them God don't let their Way Prosper I'm telling you I would rather my family be poor and have to have didn't have two nickels to rub together and be ready for the Rapture than to live in the most luxurious homes that blunt County could build them and their souls not be right with God if in this life we have hope we are of all men most miserable let me go on for a moment they tied Samson up and look what they did to him in judges 16 and verse 21 judges 16 and verse 21 but the Philistines took him and put out his eyes and brought him down to Gaza and bound him with feathers of brass and he did great grind in the prison house I don't know that putting out his eyes wasn't the best thing that could have happened to him CU it seemed like to me his eyes was what always got him in trouble he saw a woman at Timnath he saw a harlot and went in to her he saw Delilah and fell in love with I don't know that God didn't God didn't allow them to take his eyesight because Samson's going to get his heart right that's right Sam Samson's going to get his heart right in the prison if you can't get your heart right in the palace then get your heart right in the prison but get your heart right because whether you're in the palace or in the prison God still loves you God still cares about you this world is but a fleeting moment God's got a Heavenly home that he wants to take us all to God's got a place called Heaven that he wants to take us all to because he prayed again his hair be to grow again and he prayed the most powerful prayer and he killed more in his death when he got there between those two pillars of that stadium and he prayed that powerful prayer was he blind he was but he prayed that powerful prayer God touch me just one one more time and God touched him one more time and he pushed the pillars and it became a domino effect and over 3,000 over 3,000 matter of fact everybody everybody in that place was killed well you think about it if everybody was killed who told the story the author did because he wanted us to remember that even though sin has blinded you you still got hope in one more prayer even though Samson you have been made a National Disgrace even though you have both your eyes bored out Samson you serve a God that can still love you a God that can still work with you and you got a hope in that God prodal son you're filthy you're nasty you got hog slop between your toes you wasted all your hurt you but you still have hope that there's a God that can love you today I'm telling you nobody in this room is too far from God this morning nobody in this room hear me today hear me nobody in this room is too far away from the mighty hand of God well well brother Carpenter I've been coming around this church for years and everybody knows that I'm not the most spiritual man I've been coming around this church for years and everybody knows I'm not the most spiritual woman I don't care what everybody knows I hope that on this Sunday morning August 18 2024 you'll say it's time for me to get up it's time for me to get shook up it's time for me to wake up oh give him praise right now give him praise give him praise Lord help me Father help me say this the way that I mean it my heart you get old enough in the Lord and you get mature enough in the Lord you see the lures for what they are I said when you get old enough in the Lord mature enough in the Lord you you see the lurs for what they are you you see the worldly music for what it is you you see all the the the media and all the entertainment industry and all all these people drinking it up and partying up and sleeping it up and living it up you you you you you see it for what it you you you you see it for what it really is it's not cool it'll lead you to a real hot place right it's not cool but I do understand there was a time in my walk with God as a young Christian those lures were very real oh Lord I've lost some of you y'all will fill up some Churches next week somewhere but it won't be here yeah just being honest with you well how did you not bite on the lure hope thou in God's word Eve if you had concentrated on Thou shalt surely die and not how the tree looked you still may be living in sinless Perfection Samson had you had you listen to your mom and daddy that told you you don't need to marry that girl from Tim now you would have been able to close out the book one of Israel's greatest judges aen if you had just walked in there and remembered if I touch that garment there it's a curse if I touch this and bring this home where it don't belong I'll trouble my whole family aen you might have could have went down in some of the Chronicles in the Old Testament but aen you bit The lure now mother Lee are you telling me brother Carpenter that you have got to the place of not being tempted no but the Temptation changes the older you get and it goes into a subject called hope because the older you get material things don't matter oh Lord let me preach to you today thank God for his blessings I thank God for this building that far exceeded anything I thought God would ever do I thank God for the testimony I thank God for this I thank God for the wonderful home that I live in I thank God for that home that I live in I thank God for my automobile I I thank I thank God for my automobile I thank God for the shoes and the suit that I got on and especially thankful that I can button it brother or over there Mr string bean laughing at me this church can't make me happy this church don't make me happy that house over there don't make me happy if there's any of you young couples here today thinking man when I get a house like brother carner's got it ain't going to make you happy it ought to make you thankful because I'm living under the blessings of God but it ain't going to make you happy material things won't make you happy and the older that you get they're just stuff it's all it is is stuff clothes ain't going oh if I could oh if I could wear the clothes she wears oh if I could do this ain't going to make it hey look at me today young people it won't make you happy you'll get to the age to where it doesn't matter you're you'll look at your house and you'll be thankful for it you'll look at your car and you'll be thankful for it but you you won't you won't think if I can just get another one if I can get a newer better bigger more improved if I can just if I can just if I can just always be a little bit ahead of the Joneses if I can just have a little bit bigger house and a little bit
