12 and verse number 20 and there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast the same came to Philip which was a sayeda of Galilee and desired him say and this is what I want to preach about sir we would see Jesus we would see Jesus you may be seated we would see Jesus we know the scripture says that God is a spirit they didn't worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth we know that the scripture says that no man has seen God at any time but the only be God which is in the bosom of the Father which is Jesus he has declared him a first grader was given the assignment by the teacher throw anything you would like to draw anything you were not to draw draw and so the little girl begin to draw a few moments later the teacher came by and the teacher said what are you drawing she said I'm drawing a picture of God the teacher said now you can't draw a picture of God said nobody is seeing y'all you can't do that she said if you'll stand right there for a moment I'll show you in her mind she was going to show us what God what God would look like someone said show me where God's at someone gave the great answer back said show me where he's not but the truth of the matter is today the truth of the matter is that the only way to truly see God is through Jesus Christ he only he's the only accurate picture of what God is like because the scripture teaches us that Jesus is God Jesus is God in my studies the last few days I've been reminded of things that people want to compare God to they want to compare God to their life they look at the summation of their life and they compare God to their life but we know that the scripture teaches us that if we have hope in this life only we are of all men most miserable because even though life can bring us blessings from God light can never become the accurate portrait of what God is life because life has some things that happens that there is absolutely no rhyme or reason why happen i have preached too many funerals at this spot that had absolutely no rhyme no reason no purpose that you could pinpoint on and say this is why we simply had to conclude this fact that's just life and i'll tell you i don't like all of life I don't like I don't like see someone lose a loved one I don't like seeing some tragedy happen I don't like to look at those things and especially say God is compared to this because in God there is light and in him there is no darkness at all I think of one terrible tragedy we had here and with permission of mom I tell this but several years ago we had a beautiful 13 year old girl that attended church here and Rhonda was full of life and a great future ahead of her she had just recently received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost and been baptized she said on the front pews of the church and she worshipped and danced be for God I'll never forget a moment that is etched on my mind that Sunday night that I left she was standing right over here by the door and it was a great service that she had rejoiced in and I gave her thumbs up and I said it was my last words I didn't know it I said I'm so proud of you girl I'm so proud of you I didn't know that I would leave I love to go to Kentucky to preach a champ to remove to come home early on the following Saturday morning Rhonda and her mother who's here today got up that morning to take a walk that same morning a family was packing a u-haul truck to leave that neighborhood to move to another part of the state as Rhonda and Karen made their way down the street the family had packed the u-haul full and just if the timing had reached down and gotten there their cat and put it in the cab of the truck just as the truck was coming up over a hill the cat jumped down and the man for justice just a moment reach down up under his feet took his eyes off the road just enough reach down under state to grab the cat to put it back on the scene and when he did he veered off and he hit both Rhonda and her mother and it sent Rhonda thirteen-year-old girl out into eternity I don't want to look at that portrait of life and say that's God because that's just life I know people that look at nature and they will say oh look at God people that that won't go to a house of worship to praise God that they'll go to the mountains and look over the pristine mountains and they'll so this is God look at this nature how beautiful this is or they'll go to the oceans or the rivers and this is God look how beautiful nature is or they'll take a picture of the sunrise or a picture of the sunset and they'll say oh look it up is God little story nights this is God but I can't get along with that either because this weekend we sell we would celebrate we remember the 10th anniversary of Katrina that hurricane that came up short New Orleans and took the lives of hundreds of people that was nature a tornado is nature it's just nature out of control so I can't find God and tornadoes and hurricanes and floods and fires and the like I can't find God in that but I've come today to tell you where I can't find God he said in his word John 14 those Greeks really didn't know what they were asking for when they said could we see Jesus what they were actually going to see was more than just a Galilean more than just a profit more than just a good teacher they were about to see God manifested in the flesh can you say man Jesus begins at in John 14 and one Jesus says let not your heart be troubled you believe in God believe also in me look at that connection he said don't let I'm about to leave he said if you believe in God believe also in me in my father's house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you I go to prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there ye may be also whether I go you know and the way you know Thomas saith unto Him Lord we know not whither thou goest and how can we know the way jesus saith unto him I am the way the truth and the life no man cometh unto the father but by me if ye had known me ye should have known my father also and from henceforth ye have known him and have seen him now imagine that Jesus stands there with the disciples and tells them you should have known the way and you should have known the bothered if you've seen me you have seen the father and then in verse number 8 thank God for someone that last questions church there's nothing wrong with asking questions about the Bible Philip asked a question Philips anthony m Lord show us the father and it satisfies us jesus saith unto him have I been so long time with you and yet hast thou not known me Philip he that has seen me has seen the father house a estar then show us the father believe it's down not that I am in the father of the father and me the words that i speak unto you I speak not of myself but the father that dwelleth in me he do it the worst jesus said Philip how about been so long time with me if you have seen me you have seen the father so brothers and sisters today to see God is to see Jesus if you see Jesus you are seeing God Jesus is the perfect portrait of God Jesus is what God looks like well a pastor a pastor carpenter aya I just I just don't quite understand how you see God in Jesus well the book of the revelation chapter 1 and verse number 10 there is a key to see Jesus as God there is a key to see Jesus as God and is found in Revelation chapter 1 and verse number 10 I was in the spirit on the Lord's Day and heard behind me of great a great voice as of a trumpet if you want to see Jesus you can't go to the library and study your way into seeing Jesus you can't get educated enough to see Jesus you can't earn enough and get enough money in your life to see Jesus if you want to see Jesus you've got to be as John the Revelator John the Revelator said I was in the spirit on the Lord's Day if you'll begin to worship Jesus Christ and praise Jesus Christ and magnify him for his goodness and magnify him for his greatness for Jesus is a great God and he's greatly to be praised he is he is the almighty god if I begin to praise Him as God what what watch with me watch with me what happens I was in the spirit on the Lord's Day and heard a voice and heard behind me a great voice as of a trumpet saying I am Alpha and Omega the first and the last and what they'll see us fly in a book send it in to the seven churches which are an Asian emphasis and under Smyrna and pergament s'en fout attire and Sardis and Philadelphia Laodicea and I turn to see the voice that spake with me and being turned I saw seven golden candlesticks and in the midst of the seven golden kits candlesticks one like unto the Son of Man clothed with the garment down to the foot dirt about the paps with a golden girdle his head and his hairs were white like wool as white as snow his eyes were as a flame of fire and his feet like a defined brass as if they were burned in a furnace and his voice as the sound of many waters let me go down to verse 18 he introduces himself I am he that liveth and was dead and behold I am Alive for evermore amen and have the keys of hell and death do you know who John was seen John was seeing Jesus do you know who Jesus claimed to be the first and the last he claimed to be the Alpha and the Omega yeah i'm talking about seeing who jesus is this morning I'm talking about seeing who Jesus is that Jesus is God know the Bible said he is out but Omega he said he's out 40 million and we come along and we say alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet and we say he's everything from A to Z and that he is but we also have this little saying that needs to be corrected we say when we fail with plantain say God has a plan a in our lives we count that is the perfect will of God plantains the perfect will of God we mess up the perfect will of God what do we say well God's always got a plan B and that's true but if he's half and Omega he's got to plan a plan B a plan see a plan D a plan e how many plans you need that's how many plans he has he doesn't matter how you can mess it up he can step in and have another plan for your life I'm talking about CNG life is a bummer nature is a bummer but let me see cheat let me see Jesus he's as harmless as a baby in a manger he's his obedient as a 12 year old child that submits himself to his mother and his father he's so powerful that he can change nature this is why we ought to believe in God not nature he can change nature he could take water and turn it into wine he can walk on he's controlling nature he tells the wind is shut up and lay down when gets to blowing too much he just steps out there what will he can because he created the wind he just says when hush hush your mouth get up under the porch just be quiet he can walk on the water well he can go take the hand of a dead 12 year old girl and bring her back to life so he has power over life he can go to the tomb of Lazarus whose laid there for days and simply cry out Lazarus come forth life reenters his body and the man who once was dead walks out of the tomb that's what God is like that's what God is like God can take a woman who has no morals at all God can take a woman of adultery and Jesus will say you fellows it when a STONER okay okay i'll let you stoner okay but under this he didn't be without sin go ahead cast away they begin to drop the rocks and the one sister Shelley who could have picked up a rock and threatening make the decision not to picked up the rock and he could have throated at her and been justified but he said woman where's your accusers she said I have none he could have stopped her there and said oh yes you do I'm your accuser but he made a decision I haven't come to accuse I've come to say I haven't come to find out what's wrong with you I've come to fix what's wrong with you woman go and sin no more that's what Jesus looks like that's what he looks like that's why I'm not a nature worship her and I am NOT a worshipper of life I'm a worshipper of Jesus
