And it's a it's a simple message that I have, but sometimes the simple can be the most profound. I felt the Lord just stir me saying to me, I want to do something special today. Of course, that excited me cuz you know, as pastor, God's going to do something special that makes me feel good. But I know it's not for me. But God has a special something for someone in the room today. Now, here's what we can do with that. We can say, "Hey, that sounds really good. Sounds like pastor talk and preacher talk to keep us hyped up and it's all a nice thing to say." Or possibly we could exercise our faith a little bit. And somebody agree with me. Anybody want to agree with that? That God wants to do something special today. Now, I'm going to take it a step further. Anybody want to say God wants to do something special for me today? Any takers? Yeah. Any takers? It's okay. I'm not going to move until I feel like the faith is right. Any anybody wants something special from God today. I didn't come for just another message. I didn't come to hear just another worship song. I come to make a connection with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. And I feel he wants to walk among us today. He wants to change our lives. He wants to make this one of those services we'll remember. I was there when God touched me. >> Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. It's going to be a good day in the house of God. Appreciate all the guests that are with us today. We're honored that you would choose to worship God with us here at Centerpoint. I hope everyone's made you feel welcome. If not, if you'll just point them out right now. Just kidding. Just kidding. 1 Corinthians, excuse me, 1 Chronicles 11 and then also 2 Samuel 5. If you have studied the scriptures, you know that as you're in the Old Testament, a lot of the stories that are in 1 and 2 Kings, 1 and 2 Chronicles and 1 and 2 Samuel, the same stories being told by different people. So, this is one of those cases today where the same story is being recorded in two different books. 1 Chronicles 11:5 says, "But the inhabitants of Jabas said to David, you shall not come in here." Hm. Nevertheless. I like that word. You know, I'm reading the Bible and I get to a nevertheless, I get excited. >> I get excited. Something's about to happen when there's a nevertheless. Nevertheless, David took the stronghold of Zion. That is the city of David. 2 Samuel chapter 5, same story being told, different writer. Verse number six. And the king, that would be David, and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, "Now listen to this. You shall not come in here, but the blind and lame will repel you." I don't know about you, but that's that's pretty bold. They're basically saying, "There's no way you can defeat us. We're so confident in our stronghold that we're going to leave the blind and the lame in charge. That sounds pretty cocky. That sounds really arrogant to me. Now, here's here's where you just got to love the Bible. Do you love when you read it? It says you the blind lame thinking David cannot come in here. Verse number seven. Nevertheless, there we go. David took the stronghold of Zion. You know, the Bible doesn't give us a lot of the the details of how it happened. And I just like that it was very matter of fact that they were very confident in what they were going to do. >> And then we get a nevertheless, >> a nevertheless. I got we got what I feel like and this is what I'm going to preach today. We got to do it anyway. >> The enemy ever told you you can't do something? >> Yeah. Your adversary ever come against you and try to make fun of you and pick on you and tell you you're not able to do that? >> Try to belittle you? Try to demean you? try to put you in your place. I wonder if there's anybody in the house that just wants to do it anyway. Anybody here just want to do it anyway? I heard you, devil. I heard what you had to say. I know you're trying to discourage me. I feel like I'm going to do it anyway. You said I can't. I think I will. >> I hope you'll get behind me today. Jesus, I love you so much. I thank you, God, for your anointed word. I pray, God, that our hearts and our minds will be open and receptive to what you have for your church today. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. >> As I said already, I love that word nevertheless. Can you say that out loud? Say nevertheless. >> Nevertheless. >> One translation, or maybe it was just me, said he did it anyway. >> That's my subject. Do it anyway. >> I love David. I love the writings of David. David inspires me. I know if you read much about David and his history behind his life, you'll know that he had a lot of adversaries. He had a lot of enemies. There a lot of a lot of battles that he fought. There's a lot of situations that he went through, a lot of circumstances he faced. He's got a very unique life because his his beginnings start off and it seems like he's set up for greatness, but it doesn't happen instantaneously. It took some time from from the moment he was anointed. He didn't immediately get set on the throne. He had to go through some stuff in his life. Had to face some things, but it he eventually made and made his way to being king. He ruled for over 40 years in Israel. And to know him is to also know the foes that he overcame and the men that he inspired. His mighty men that were there. Men of exceptional valor and courage. Men who were not afraid to follow him into battle because he had proven himself faithful and worthy of the hand of God being on his life. David was not afraid even when on many occasions the enemy counted him out. Even in moments like this when they said, "We hear what you're saying, but we're not worried about what you can do." I don't know about you, but I find myself sometimes a little bit embold when somebody says I can't. Anybody else have that attitude? I didn't necessarily want to do it until you told me I couldn't do it. >> And now it's all I can think about. I would have left it alone, but you said I couldn't. >> Now I almost want to prove you wrong. >> I wonder if I got any saints of God that have that kind of attitude against the enemy today. I'm tired of you bullying me around about my family. I'm tired of you bullying me around about my religion. I'm tired of you telling me what I can do. I'm here to say I'm going to do it anyway. >> Now, I'm not going to preach long today, which doesn't mean anything really. I may preach long, I may not. What I'm looking for, I'm going to tell you up front. I'm looking for a response today. Not just a giddy up response. I'm looking for somebody to step out in some faith today and say, "You know what? I'm tired of being pushed in a corner. I'm tired of being sat down on the bench on the sidelines. I'm tired of my enemy intimidating me and causing me to have anxious thoughts and telling me all the things that I've done wrong in my life and all the labels that have been placed on me. I'm sick and tired of being set down. I'm ready to do it anyway. I may not be qualified. I may not be skilled. I may not have IT ALL TOGETHER, BUT I'M GOING TO DO IT. PRAISE GOD. I NEED somebody to STAND UP AND GRAB A HOLD OF A MIRACLE TODAY THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO SIT DOWN WHEN YOUR ENEMY SAYS sit down. YOU CAN STAND UP WITH THE BOLDNESS IN THE HOLY GHOST BECAUSE YOUR GOD HAS BEEN UNCONQUERED. WOO! OH, it feels good today. Now, y'all got to sit down and behave. We ain't going to get through this. Concerning the city of Jebis, at this time it was known as the inhabitants of the Jebusites. It was one of the great strongholds in the region. It's interesting interesting to study it out. For those of you who know the end of this story, you know that this ended up becoming the city of Jerusalem. But from the time that God had promised Israel a land, this particular place, this particular, as the Bible called it, stronghold had yet to be conquered by Israel. >> Even when Joshua marched in and had the hand of God with him, and everywhere they went, they had victory, they had still not yet run the Jebusites out of this city. So, it comes to a time we have to fast forward many years till we get to the time of David where David walks up and says, "You know what? I feel like the Lord wants us to take that. I think it's about time we run the enemy out of here. This land," he said, belongs to us. He said, "It's ours. God has given it to us." Why are we still putting up with him? Why are we allowing them to tone us? WHY ARE YOU WHY are we allowing the enemy to tell us what we can AND CANNOT DO? WHY ARE WE listening to them? Well, there's a sermon right there. Why are you listening to the devil? He ain't nothing but full of lies. >> Why would you pay him any attention? Whatever he says is wrong. >> Now, what's interesting about this city is it was placed up on top of a mountain ridge, three valleys surrounding it. So, when you walked up to it, it was intimidating. Even though the walls were some 10 to 12 feet tall, the walls were set on top of a mountain peak. So, you're down in the valley looking up a 100 feet or so up there and you see a 10ft wall. looks like it's something that you just can't get over. >> So, it's not impossible for them to have an attitude and a mindset that says, "I don't know that we can take it." >> But I thank God there's some Davids out there. >> I thank God there's some people says, "You know what? I know it may be impossible with us." >> But God said it belongs to us. He said it's our land. He said it belongs to me. I know. I can hear them up there. I hear what they're saying. You can't do it, David. I don't care how many people you bring up. We have never been conquered. You have never been able to do this. you've never been able to. >> Don't you like it when the enemy tells you what you've never been able to do. >> Devil, won't you hush? >> Just because I haven't done it doesn't mean I'm not going to. >> David made his mind up. The natural surroundings may have been an advantage to so to speak of. But they had God on their side. This area had remained independent of God's rule far too long. And David dared to appear under the towering walls of this city in the inhabitants because he felt like God was with him. I wonder if anybody feels like God's with them today. >> Do you feel like God's with you? >> Are you a Christian in in in all of life or just entitle only? >> Are you bold in your every day or only on Sundays? Are you bold on Monday? >> What about Tuesday evening? >> Wednesday morning, >> Thursday afternoon, >> Friday at noon time. Are you still bold? >> What about Saturday? >> There's something more than living this thing out just in here. >> I love coming here. I love being in the house of God. I love feeling the presence of God. I love when our praise team leads us in worship. I love feeling his presence in this place. It excites me. It energizes me. But you know what? We don't get to stay here all the time. At some point, we got to go out the door. >> I wonder if we go out boldly. >> Yeah. >> Cuz you ever noticed how much intimidation we face when we go outside the walls of this church? >> How the enemy likes to get up in your face. >> How he likes to remind you of your mistakes >> and your failures. Boy, I tell you what, he keeps a real good list, doesn't he? >> Yeah. He's a recordkeeping devil. >> He's real good at that. He's a labelkeeping devil. He's a He's an offense tracking devil. >> He's got spreadsheets. He masters in Excel. He's better than Michael Bardwell at it. >> He's good at it. He He can whip out a PowerPoint at any time in your mind and let it let it scroll past all the reasons why you're disqualified and how many times you failed before and how many times you've fallen over the same things and how many times that same temptation has caused you to stumble. >> Hello. >> Am I talking to anybody else besides me? How many times he reminds you of how you have said the things you shouldn't have said and acted the ways you shouldn't have acted and done the things you shouldn't have done? Anybody besides me? >> Anybody else seen that seen that highlight reel? Seen that movie trailer he likes to play inside your mind >> that that that's on repeat over and over and over again? I wonder if there's anybody who's tired of it. >> Anybody tired of seeing it? Are you tired of hearing his voice? You tired? Then why don't you get up and do something about it? David rose up against all the odds and he achieved one of his greatest victories. In fact, the theologians, they can't even describe how it happened. There there there's some some indication that is there that maybe he he climbed up through the aqueducts, but we we don't have proof positive that's what happened. All I know is they said you can't. And the word of God says nevertheless, >> David took the city. Come on. >> The enemy said, "We're going to leave the blind in charge. We're going to leave the looking over here. We're we're we're going to go to our houses and take a nap because we're not worried about it." Nevertheless, >> David scaled up the wall. >> Yeah. >> Nevertheless, David said, "I don't I hear what you're saying, and I think you should be more afraid of me than you are." >> No, I wish somebody would learn how to talk back to the devil. >> I wish some of you would learn how to be intimidating to him instead of him intimidating you. the Here's the truth. Here's the reality. He's afraid of you. He's scared of you. If he he knows if you ever fully embrace all that God said about you, you're going to give hell a bad day. Oh, I wish somebody had a little boldness in them and said to the devil, "You know what? I'm alive today. I still got breath in my lungs." Devil, you're going to have a bad day. Put hell on notice. You're going to have a bad day because I have the ability to cry out to my God. I'm not going to be intimidated by you. Do I hear WHAT YOU'RE SAYING? I don't believe it. >> I wish I had a few more nevertheless Christians around me. Little more that said, I'm going to do it anyway. I come with a simple message, a simple thought. The devil is counting on the fact that you think it's too hard. He's counting on the fact that he can intimidate you, >> that he can keep you down, that he can put you in a corner, that you that you're going to come to the realization in your own mind that's going to take too much effort, it's going to take too much out of you to really rise up and be what God has called you to be. But I'm here to tell you the devil's a liar. >> He's a liar. >> He is a liar. >> He is a liar. He is a liar. He is a liar. Why you listening to the lies coming out of his mouth? Whatever he says the opposite is what's true. >> If he says you can't, that means you can. >> Oh, the fact THAT HE'S EVEN TALKING to you ought to be proof positive that he's afraid of you. >> Can't go without my hanky. If it wasn't true, >> listen to me. Listen to me. >> If he was speaking truth to you that you can't do it, why would he have to remind you of that? >> Why would he care? >> Why would it be such a big deal to him if you can't? >> If I knew that you couldn't do something, why does it do me any good to remind you that you can't do it? If if I know that you can't beat me, why does it matter to say, "Hey, Gabe, you can't beat me." Somebody who's really confident is like, "Okay, >> the fact that he's having to say to you, you can't is proof positive that you can. >> Whatever he's telling you you can't do, you need to understand you can do that." >> He's hoping you don't realize it. He's scared to death that you're going to grab a hold, that you have the ability to overcome, that you have the ability to do, that you have the ability to live, that you have the ability to conquer >> because he knows. He knows all the things that you have been not doing. If you ever realize that you can do it, it's bad news for him. >> It's bad news. I I wish I'd wake somebody up today that you can live for God anyway, that you can go on anyway, that you can worship anyway, that you can praise him anyway, that you can lift your hands anyway, that you are not defeated, as you're moving forward. The devil has underestimated you. I'd like to wake some young people up today. Don't be intimidated when you walk into school. >> You walk in with the presence of the King of the King and Lord of Lords, the unconquered one is inside of you. The same spirit that got him up out of the grave is inside of you. It's inside of you. So go with boldness and and do all the things that God wants you to do. It is not. It may seem like it's impossible with you, but with him, it's not impossible. I've said many times with you and God that's an overwhelming force. >> You and him winning combination. I don't care how many foes come against you. You are never outnumbered with God. >> You are never outnumbered with God. You are never never never never outnumbered with God. IF YOU AND GOD YOU CAN TAKE ON ALL OF HELL WITH GOD. So why are you sitting on the sidelines? >> Why are you allowing the enemy to intimidate you? The enemy is count on it being too hard. He's counting on that you're going to sit down, that you're going to lose heart. The devil's counting on you not to make it. You know what you need to do? >> You need to tell hell, I'm not coming. >> Somebody needs to cancel the reservation. Just tell the devil, "No, it's not going to happen." >> That was pretty weak. >> Somebody needs to rise up and defy the odds today. Amen. >> Defy the odds. >> Defy your family's heritage. >> Defy the label that's been placed on you. >> Defy it. >> Everybody else may have counted you out, but God hasn't. >> He's still here. He's still on your side. He's still for you. He's still He's still He's still walking with you. Rise up and do it anyway. Rise up and defile. Tell hell I'm not coming. Change my reservations. Pastor Kevin, I don't feel like it. Well, get up anyway, Pastor Kevin. I don't know if I can do it anyway. >> What do you What do you have to lose? What do you have to lose? You have nothing but to gain. I know sometimes life throws us in such circumstances that we experience things and it causes us to struggle. It causes us to have our faith come into question. Every one of us have had moments like that. We've all had stories and situations that's hit us and where we we were doing really good for a while, but then this happened in our life and it caused me to take a step back. Then all of a sudden, we begin to question. I got a story for you. It's a close story. It's a story that's personal story, personal to this church. There was a man who grew up in the church, became an adult, had been in prayer meetings before, heard heard many messages about the infilling of the Holy Ghost. He seen people all around him getting filled with the Holy Ghost. Knew it was real, felt the presence of God, but for whatever reason, God had yet to fill him with the Holy Ghost. Got married, married a girl that wasn't raised in apostolic truth. Just few few short little time after they got married, she got the Holy Ghost. God is good. But he still struggled with the fact that she got it and he didn't. This went on for years and years and years and years and years and for 50 years this went on. Know about you, but 50 years is a long time. 50 years is is a long time. 50 years would would definitely lead you to some moments of questioning and wondering, God, what's going on? And like, what what's wrong with me? Why is it that I'm struggling? Why is it that you seem to be doing this for other people, but you won't do it for me? Am I speaking to anybody today? Anybody identifying with that God has given you a promise or has told you something and it's yet to come to pass. You see other people around you going through it and it seems like God answers their prayers or God feels them or God does this or God does that. But for you, it's like you walk around and you got this thing in your hand you're holding on to that that God had written there that it's going to happen for you, but it hasn't come to pass yet. Anybody still hanging on to a promise? >> God was also speaking to his wife. gave her a promise that he was going to fill her husband with the Holy Ghost. >> She was >> just as involved and just as invested in this as he was. She had her own discouragement, own moments of wondering moments of struggling on moments is it going to happen? When's it going to happen, God? Why why would you let this go? Why is this something you have to beg for, God? Why is it what is it's called the gift of the Holy Ghost? What's going on? Then almost exactly two years ago in March of 2024, God filled Gary Richards with the Holy Ghost right over here. This is Gary. Gary, stand up. Gary, stand up. This is Gary. 50 years he prayed for the Holy Ghost. 50 years. Sister Pam, stand up. 50 years she faithfully stood by his side. I know there were times that there was doubt and there was times of not understanding. But God is faithful and true. You know why? Because they kept coming to church anyway. They kept believing anyway. They kept moving anyway. They kept trusting anyway. They kept kept kept faithful anyway. Why? Because God had told him and it came to pass. 50 years. 50 years. But finally over here one day he threw his HANDS UP AND GOD FILLED HIM WITH HIS SPIRIT. WHY? BECAUSE HE'S A PROMISEKEEPING, COVENANT KEEPING GOD. I'M TALKING TO SOMEBODY TODAY. I KNOW THERE'S PROMISES THAT HAVEN'T COME TO pass in this room, but he's FAITHFUL AND HE IS TRUE. He keeps HIS WORD. I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GOING THROUGH, BUT GET UP AND DO IT ANYWAY. DON'T STOP. DON'T GIVE IN. DON'T BE INTIMIDATED. HE'S STILL A prayer answering, covenantkeeping God. Oh, hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. As far back as my memory goes, we prayed for Gary to get to the Holy Ghost. And then when he got it two years ago, the whole church celebrated. Why? Because God's faithful. >> He's faithful. He's faithful. So do it anyway. Do it anyway. >> I'm speaking to somebody here today. Someone online. Somebody got up there this morning and you're struggling in your own mind. It's not a physical thing that you're facing. It's a it's a mind thing that you're going through. I'm speaking to somebody that's in a dark place right now. You're discouraged. You feel like all all the hell's against you. You've tried by your own efforts. You tried by your own abilities to try to turn things around. But for whatever reason, it hasn't come to pass. It seems like it's only gotten darker and deeper and harder to face reality. Even questioning where you are. You may even question, "Is there a God?" I'm here to tell you there is. And he loves you. I don't know how long you've been listening to the enemy. I don't know how long you've been trying to talk yourself into or out of something, but I'm here to tell you this word is true. >> His word is true. His word is true. He is faithful. He is faithful. Pastor Kevin, you don't know what I go through. You're right. I don't. I don't know what you're facing. I don't know everybody's story in the room. I don't know what has happened to your life. I don't know what relationships are like. I don't I don't know what kind of things have been handed to you by your family. I don't know what kind of health issues you struggle with. I don't I don't know what kind of financial issues I I don't I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I know what's happened to me. I know it's happened to some others in this room. I I can tell you he's a faithful God. It's not something I'm telling you just cuz I pastor this church. I'm telling you because he's been good to me in my life. He's walked with me through some dark times and some dark valleys. There's been some times just because I'm pastor doesn't mean I'm perfect. Doesn't because I'm pastor doesn't mean that I haven't had my own issues in life, my own struggles I faced. I have. I've been through some things. I don't always tell you. I know I'm pretty transparent up here. I don't tell you everything. I'll tell you it all, but I tell you, he's good. >> There's some times I couldn't feel him. Can I say that to you? Will you Will you be okay if pastor tells you there's some times I've prayed and I didn't feel God? >> I didn't. I didn't. I felt like my prayers went into an empty room. I didn't feel him, brother Freeman. I didn't I don't know where he was at. I felt like Job. I looked to my left, looked to my right, before me, behind me. I don't know. I don't know. I would have looked around for God. There were there were sometimes weeks upon weeks upon months upon months went by and I didn't really feel God. I thought, have I lost my way? What's going on? What's God help me? But then just the simplest prayer, God, do you even know I'm here? >> And to feel him walk into the room. [panting] Oh, I'm I'm reaching for somebody today. He is here for you. If you will reach out, stop the negative thinking. Stop listening to what you've put yourself into. Open the door for just a minute to the possibility that he loves you. To the possibility that he knows where you're at. To the possibility he sees your pain. He feels your angst. He knows what you're dealing with right now. Just open yourself up to just do it anyway. Whether you feel it or not, I'm trying to encourage you. THERE'S A GOD WHO WILL MEET YOU IN YOUR DARKEST MOMENT, in your lowest spot. It's not preacher talk. It's the truth. God did not call you to fail. >> He called you to overcome. >> How many times does the devil mock your efforts to live for God? You know what? Sometimes it's legitimate. Sometimes you and I don't do such a good job. I'm going to say that again because you guys need to own that. I own my part and you need to own your part. Sometimes you and I don't do such a good job. Sometimes we're like Dr. Jackekal and Mr. Hyde. Sometimes we do pretty good until somebody cuts us off in traffic. >> And it's like the Holy Ghost leaves our body for a minute. We check out and you may not cuss, but you probably should have because your attitude was just as bad and you act like a fool. Sometimes old flesh gets the best of us. And y'all quiet. Y'all leaving me by myself. I said us. Yeah, it does. It does. So sometimes he he has actually said things that were true >> ish. >> Is yeah we don't do some we don't do so good. I was wrestling with this one day struggling with it. You know I don't know about you but there's some days I just I just struggle. You know I said this in ministry development today. I said you know what the the hardest part about ministry is people. They're awful. They're just terrible. If it wasn't for the people, it wouldn't be a half bad gig. >> But as brother Mullen says, people are pitiful when we're all people. >> That'd be me, too. >> One day, I was really, really wrestling with this and just feeling like, God, I just I don't know. I don't know. I just I'm so weary. Anybody just been weary? >> Weary. And I felt like feel like the enemy was just pounding on, pouring it on, pouring it on, pouring it on. It's just like trying to find some place of quiet. Not necessarily from outside noise, just from what was going on in my own mind. >> Anybody identify with that? Just what's going on in my own mind? And it's like I didn't have words. Anybody been in prayer and just don't have words? It's just just just I just let out just a just a sigh. And God showed me this. Psalms 38:9, "Lord, all my desire is before you and my sighing is not hidden from you." That even when I can't get the words out, my God says, "I hear you. >> I hear you." That ought to be encouraging to somebody. Somebody's been wrestling. Somebody's trying to quiet the noise. Somebody that all you can do is get a sigh out. Nothing's impossible with my God. Nothing's impossible. God heard me. God heard me. He met me where I was at. I didn't have to utter anything else BUT JUST A SIGH OUT OF MY MOUTH. And he said, "I HEARD IT." >> WHAT A GOD. WHAT A GOD. WHAT A GOD WE SERVE. HE DOESN'T LEAVE YOU BY YOURSELF or alone. He meets you wherever you are. Even if you can't cry out HIS NAME, JUST SIGH. HE HEARS THAT, TOO. HE knows what you're going through. He experiences what you're facing in life. >> You know what? I think there's some victories that God wants to give some of you folks. And it's going to be the kind of victories when it happens, you're going to look back and like, I don't know how that happened. I have no idea, Bradley. I wonder if David ever looked back after taking over in the stronghold design and be like, "That was pretty awesome." I wonder if you ever I wonder if David ever had a moment where he said to the guys when they get finally get the victories over when they're just sitting around the fire enjoy enjoying all the spoils of war. Sister Daddy, I've wondered this. I wonder if David ever just looked at the guys and said, "I don't know how it's going to work out. We kind of crazy. Like Jonathan with his armor bearer. Hey, let's go pick a fight. >> The enemy says we can't. So, let's holler out. And if they do this, then we'll know the Lord's with us. Crazy people do that. >> Crazy people. >> Crazy people who have a God. >> Anybody crazy in the room today? >> Anybody crazy enough to do it anyway? Anybody Anybody bold enough to just believe that God's not done with you? >> Anybody bold enough to believe that you don't have to settle in life? >> Like you don't have to you don't have to just settle to always having to listen to that enemy run his mouth. Anybody tired of his mouth running? >> Anybody sick of it? I wonder if there's anybody crazy enough to say, "Wait, I'm I'm tired of I'm tired of hearing it. I'm tired of sitting on the I'm sick and tired. I'm ready to get up. I'm going to DO IT ANYWAY. >> >> WOO. I GOT ONE more story to tell you and then we're going to get a little crazy for Jesus. I'm going to say a name that some of you will know and some many of you won't know. Her name is Gail Bird. Gail Bird's daughter, Ashley attended our church for a while. Gail Bird, she got in church, received the Holy Ghost. God changed her life. did a did a did an amazing work inside her, but the reality was God didn't do anything for her husband. Now, her husband didn't care that she went to church, but her husband didn't want to go to church. He was kind of closed off. Hey, look, if that's what you want to do, you can they had eventually had children. You can carry the kids. You can do that, but I'm not going with you. No, I don't want to talk about God. Miguel in prayer early on in her relationship with God heard God say, "Pack a bag and put it in the trunk of your car with his clothes cuz one day he's going to ask to go to church with you and he's going to get baptized >> and you're going to have those clothes. I don't know about you, but that excites me. >> That excites me about a God who says, "You know what? I know your desire, so I want you to go ahead and pack a bag. I want you to go ahead and prepare. I want you to know I'm speaking to somebody today. Won't you go and prepare for what I'm going to do? So, she did. She did. She put it in the back of the car. She kept it there in trunk. She's ready to go. Week passes. He doesn't say anything. Two weeks go by, he doesn't say anything. Two months go by, he doesn't say anything. Two years go by, she doesn't say anything. 10 years go by. 20 years go by. But every Sunday that bag was in the trunk of the car. They bought and sold and got new cars. Guess what she did? Packed the bag, put in the trunk of her car. 30 years goes by. 35 years goes by. 40 years goes by. And in the 40th year, she got up one morning was getting ready. He comes walking out of the bedroom dressed for church and says, "Today I want to go to church with you." 40 years. She kept doing it. 40 years. They go to church. He gets in service. He gets filled with the Holy Ghost. Says, "I probably need to get baptized." She says, "You know what? I got clothes in the car. 40 YEARS OF GETTING UP and doing it anyway, day after day, WEEK AFTER WEEK, YEAR AFTER YEAR, decade after decade. BUT HE'S A PROMISEKEEPING, covenant keeping God. Stand with your feet. I don't know what they're going to sing. Need to bring them out. Make it something good. I don't know your story, but God spoke to me this morning. Said, "I want to do something special today." So, I'm trying my best to encourage a bunch of crazy folks to get up and do it anyway. Pastor Kevin, I've been in services like this where I'm glad. Do it again. Do it again. I got story after story about people that didn't happen. And sometimes God shows up in the moment instantaneously and does it. He's done it for me in my life. He's touched me. I said a prayer, simple prayer, and God met me right there. But more often than not, it happens over time. But I wonder two things. Number one, if there's anybody in here that has a reason to celebrate because you are like these stories, like brother Gary, like Gail Bird's husband, many other miracles have happened in this room that you just want to step out and say, "You know what, God? It's been a while since I celebrated you. I'm going to worship today." So, if that's you, I want you to come down cuz I want I want to fill this place with some faith. So, if you have a reason to worship, I want you to come down and worship. But now, I'm going to speak to another group of people. If you have something in your life that has yet to come to pass and the enemy is trying to intimidate you, trying to tell you that it ain't going to happen, it's never happened. God doesn't care. God doesn't listen. You you you're going to mess up. You're going to fall down again. You're going to make a mistake. I want to SAY TO YOU, DO IT ANYWAY. Do it anyway. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE? SO, I want this place to be flooded. They're going to sing something good. And I want us to get lost in worship and just see what God wants to do in this place. Let's worship God today.
