thank you praise team Lord bless you I'm going to let you move to your seats again we say welcome to First Apostolic church we welcome all those joining us on the multimedia platforms thank you for worshiping with us on this Sunday night it is a privilege to be back in the house of the Lord the greatest church that anybody could ever be associated with again I say to the Saints of First Apostolic Church it is an honor and a privilege to be here and worship with you and be counted as your pastor uh we've had uh so many wonderful wonderful blessings and uh I have to take just a moment again to um uh brag on all of our uh technical staff uh when we're making uh uh improvements As We are continuing to do in some of our media uh they have to spend a lot of extra hours uh retraining and uh uh reworking and uh just uh I want to thank them for the basically uh seamless way they have uh worked so well now understand we've got a lot of Technology up here but uh did you know none of those none of those screens will put anything on them unless there's somebody up there doing the work the producers the and all these folks they just need a special hand of appreciation uh this sound system it it's great but somebody has to push the buttons and uh do all the things that they do and uh if I start calling names I'll leave someone out so I suffice to say the entire technical Team all of our service producers uh I just wanted to take a moment to honor you and thank you again for all you do uh giving honor to uh Pastor Anthony what a marvelous message this morning absolutely wonderful and I give honor to uh bishop and sister mcco they're beasts is all I can say this third service today and they're going strong and uh I love y'all thank you always for your support you uh didn't have to be here tonight but you chose to be here and I do appreciate you being here in the house of the Lord I want us to get into the word tonight uh I have a message that uh I hope will minister to your hearts uh and uh some direction that I hope that will strengthen the church this evening the book of hegi the second chapter HEI the second chapter we're going to begin reading at verse number five we'd ask you to be in special prayer for uh Pastor Whitley as he Journeys home he's been in Louisville Kentucky preaching and we're praying for him uh that God has given him souls for for his labor and a safe journey home the book of HEI the second chapter we're going to get begin reading at verse number five according to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt so my spirit remaineth among you fear not for thus sath the Lord of host yet once it is a little while I I will shake the heavens and the earth and the Sea and the dry land and I will shake All Nations and the desire of all Nations shall come and I will fill this house with glory sayth the lord of hosts the silver is mine the Gold is mine say the Lord of hosts the glory of this latter house shall be great greater than of the former say the Lord of hosts and in this place will I give peace saith the Lord of hosts notice verse 6 and verse 7 he referred to he said I'll shake the heavens the Earth the sea the dry land and then verse seven he said I'll shake All Nations so for a few moments tonight I would speak to you on this subject don't be be shaken by the shaking Don't Be Shaken by the shaking let's pray savior I love you God I'm forever grateful for your wonderful word that guides us directs us Lord it Comforts us when we need comfort it gives us strength in times of weakness and Lord it is our Pathway to Heaven you speak to us through it now Lord let your word speak to my heart again let us feel your direction we thank you we praise you and we love you in Jesus name we pray amen amen 25 minutes before the start of game three of the 1989 World Series between the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland A's at Candlestick Park there were a handful of players on the field stretching playing catch and mingling understand these were two West Coast teams that both existed in the Bay Area just a bay and a bridge apart there were 63,000 fans in the stands waiting for the pregame introductions for the first World Series game at the stick which is short for the Candlestick in 27 years there's a buzz in the air typical of baseball in October the ABC television broadcast of the game had just begun it was 5:00 p.m. Pacific time the Press Box was jammed with reporters from all over the world suddenly seconds later at 504 the world changed this is what it looked like back and we Zoom the corner of City for first 27 years of World Series game will be played intik the battle of the bay continues game of the 1989 World Series the Athletics against the San Francisco Giants I'm Michaels welcome to game three it's been dominant Oakland pitching of course in the first two games so Roger Craig has made some changes in the Giants line fell the great pinch hitter will start at third base Matt Williams moves from third base to Short Stop Jose hbe is on the bench takes over for candy malado in right field now the Giants of course are faced with a formidable task having to win four or five in essence to win the World title it has become less uncommon though in recent years for teams to overcome a two love deficit most recently it was done by the New York metch in 1986 against the Boston Red Sox and it was done the year before as well by Kansas City against St Louis so the Giants tonight will be sending Don Robinson to the m and for Oakland it will be Bob Welch and there's no designated hitter in effect in the National League Park let me turn on to Tim mver you know Tim we talked game one the final score was 5 nothing but it was a key early play involving Terry Kennedy dropping a throw from Will Clark at the plate we go back to game two the score was 5 to one but there were two key plays early in that one as well well you don't often think of key plays 5 to one ball game but let's go back to the top of the third inning Will Clark the batter the Giants have not had the lead in these two games a 32 count a split finger fast ball by Mike Moore pounced on by Terry Steinbach the Oakland catcher but look at the tough throw that he had to complete the play with Brett Butler running between him and Clark flash forward to the bottom of the fourth in Dave Parker barely by inches just misses a home run candy m the hesitation allowing Jose cono to score and he fails to get Dave Parker at second base [Applause] I don't know on the [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] we have no picture no return audio and we will be back we from sanis in just a moment there's a rumbling then a fierce jolt the earthquakes violently shaking the stadium cutting off power causing concrete to fall from sections of the upper deck and generating streaks of alarm and fear from the crowd baseball commissioner faay Vincent is nearly knocked out of his chair next to the Giants Dugout when the earthquake strikes I thought it was a jet or maybe something breaking the sound barrier he would say later there's an eerie silence throughout the stadium as the ballpark structure swings and rumbles back and forth as if a monster is ready to emerge from behind the right field stands and shake the stadium until it crumbles to pieces one by one but the stadium much maligned by many who said it wouldn't withstand a major earthquake wake holes a pitcher storm Davis takes a crying baby from the stands fearing concrete might fall from the top of the stadium Mark Maguire steadies one of his friends Stan Javier helps his wife Vera to the field Terry Steinbach Comforts his wife Mary TV sets mounted on stands above the Press table Sway in the air reporters ask what the Quake M measurement might be on the RoR scale one responds that it's a 5.4 when the rumble finally stops fans and the stands LED out an enormous cheer they're relieved even some yell play ball but the fans begin to head to the exits cheerfully and orderly yet disappointed but they have no idea what is transpiring in the world around them they soon learn that this earthquake is a staggering 7.1 the biggest in San San Francisco since an 8.3 quake in 1906 word arrives that this Shaker is a bad one deaths have occurred the nimit freeway has collapsed people he bridges are falling thousands are dead thousands more injured downtown is in Ruins there are fires there is looting and rioting the city is falling apart you see the World Series is arguably one of the most watched annual sporting events that's ever existed yet if God's hand allows it to be so a little shaking can change all the priorities of everything that's going on a national television broadcast interrupted suddenly with the violent shaking you see the god that we serve understands that sometimes he has to shake some things up our text told us that he can shake the world if he needs to but he also said fear not when the shaking starts place or takes place what he's saying is don't you be shaken by the shaking don't let when God decides to shake some things up it shake your faith in him fear not God is still in control he said in our text for thus sayith the Lord of hosts yet once it's a little while I will shake the heavens and the earth and the Sea and the dry land God knows how to shake the Nations when he needs to God knows how to get our attentions but don't let it shake you up when God does some shaking sometimes there's going to be things take place in this old world from Nation to Nation Wars will arise there will be all types of things that will take place don't let it shake your faith in Christ no matter the political situation no matter the situation of relations between nations no matter what happens don't let it shake your faith in Christ don't you be shaken by the shaking he said I will shake All Nations and the desire of all Nations shall come and I will fill this house with Glory yes this prophetic word was going forth in HEI but it's still true today there's going to come a time that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord he may have to shake some things up it may be politically it may be socially it may be through a war or it may be through natural disasters but God knows how to get our attention oh but brother mul have you not heard about the situations with our economy nowadays he covered that too he said uh the Silver's mine the Gold is mine sayeth the Lord fear not don't let all the headlines shake you up don't let all the naysayers shake you up don't let all the Talking Heads and the political pundits make you worried it don't matter what part's in control God's the one that's in control don't you be shaken by the shaking remember if you're a child of God God sometimes has to shake some things up but let me also tell we as the church did you know sometimes God has to shake the Church brother M why would God shake the church Hebrews read this way Hebrews 12:23 said to the general assembly and Church of the firstborn which are written in heaven and to God the judge of all and to the spirits of just men made perfect and to Jesus the mediator of the New Covenant and the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better things than that of Abel see that you refuse not to hear him that speaketh that means make sure you still hear God's voice speaking for if they escape not who refused him that spake on Earth much more shall not we escape if we turn away from him that speaketh from Heaven whose voice then shook the Earth but now he hath promised saying yet once more I shake not the Earth only but also heaven and this word yet once signifi the moving of those things that are shaken as of those things that are made that those things which cannot be shaken May remain let me tell you church if we'll stay strong in the faith we can't be shaken away but sometimes God even has to shake the church to remove some things that shouldn't be in the house if you've got your faith in man you can be shaken up and be shaken away if you've got your faith in in some human ideology and your Faith's not in God a little change here a little shaken there and you can be shaken away but he said sometimes I've got to shake some things so they can be shaken away and that which is strong will remain he said for our God is a consuming fire God sometimes shakes things up and removes those things that aren't attached you see when we let let our faith keep us strong in him no matter the shaking that takes place no matter the storm that comes no matter the trouble that may assail if we're holding on to Jesus and our faith is sure nothing can shake what we will see 2 Thessalonians 2:1 said now we beseech you Brethren by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and by our gathering together unto him that ye be not soed soon shaken in mind listen that we have a battle for the mind more than ever before there is a battle every day for everyone's mind oh we claim to be the most enlightened generation we have access to so much information but the real truth is we have more access than ever to more misinformation we have so many things we have so many devices we have our phones and our tablets our 24-hour new Cycles all of those things and if we aren't careful we'll be overcome and we'll be shaken in mind but the things we hear and the things we see it said be not the be ye not soon shaken in mind or be troubled neither by Spirit nor by word nor by letter from us as the day of Christ is at hand what do he say he said ' don't let the prophecy of the word scare you there's some folks you start talking about the second second coming of the Lord even folks that are serving man it starts scarying I'm saying Lord Jesus come quickly Lord Jesus come quickly Lord I I I'm wanting to see you this old world's rocking and reeling there's a lot of shaking taking place I refuse to be shaken by the shaking he said let no man deceive you by any means for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first that the man of sin be revealed and the son of predition let me tell you even in the world of the church if you're soon shaken in mind you will be deceived by the man of predition you will be and listen I've heard all the prophecies and I'm I'm thankful that the church grows and we're trying to grow the church and we're ministering to souls but scripture tells us that there will be a falling away sometimes our Humanity would be shaken to the core if we didn't keep our faith let me give you a scriptural example of not understanding what the shaking is about and what a shake is about about in 2 Samuel the 6th chapter we read that David arose and went with all the people that were with him from baale of Judah to bring up from he then the Ark of God whose name is called by the name of the Lord of host that dwelleth between the cherubs and they set the Ark of God upon a new cart and brought it out of the house of abinadab that was in gibba and Aza Ando the sons of abinadab drave or drove the the new cart and they brought it out of the house of abinadab which was at giba accompanying the Ark of God and ahaya went before the ark and David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of furwood even on harps on sues on Timber on cornetes and on symbols and when they came to naon neon's threshing floor oza put forth his hand to the Ark of God and took hold of it for the oxen shook it and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Aza and God smote him there for his error and there he died by the Ark of God now let me comment a bit on this passage of scripture understand the background the Philistines had captured the Ark of God and had taken it from God's people the ark that represented the Covenant was in the wrong place it was in a heathen land and the Philistines tried to use the power of the AR but they didn't understand it they put it in the same temple with their idol God ashdod first day they came in that idol God was been over facing the Ark of God they set the idol up as it progressed before it was over the Idol's hands were were broken off and it destroyed the idol and uh let me let me be uh uh kind here uh uh but the ark being in the hands of the wrong people the Bible tells us and I'll I'll I'll be nice the way I say this that they were stricken with a physical discer that was so great and embarrassing that propriety hinders me from specifying the particulars of it but suffice to say the Ark in the wrong hands became of great discomfort to the Philistines now if you don't know what I'm talking about you can do some studying tonight you can go back to 1 Samuel the 6th chapter and read the details but the Ark of God in the wrong hands will discomfort those folks that don't know what the power of God's really like they will try to use it but it's going to be painful for them if I could be so blunt see some of y'all want to steady right now don't go steadying right now but you see they would become so discomforted by the ark being in the wrong hands they would load the ark up and they would take it back to the border and drop it off to the Israelites man y'all get this thing but you know what the Israelites did the Israelites didn't value the power that was in the ark and what the Covenant represented you see they' got as my grandparents used to say they'd got up in the papers they didn't need prophets anymore they had a king and you know what having a king had got them had got them losing the ark and the power so for many years the ark would be in the wrong place it would be hidden and not being used but David would eventually find out that we need the Ark of the Covenant back in its rightful place so he wanted The Prestige of the Ark back in the Kingdom but David didn't do enough research he said just bring the ark and David would find out that without the proper understanding and and administration of honoring and respecting the ark when a little shaking took place it would be deadly now if you go back and re view the passage of scripture that I read from over in 2 Samuel 6 I started at verse two but if if you go back to verse one first of all it wasn't a crowd they had 30,000 men the Bible says man they they had a crowd they knew how to get a crowd but they didn't know how to use the ark properly they had some new modern ways of transporting the ark they got a new cart and oxen to carry it and man they knew how to have worship service remember it said in verse five that they had all manner of instruments made of furwood even on Harps and sultes and Timbers and on cornetes and on symbols hear me we can learn how to have church and not have the power of God oh hear me I'm so thankful I bragged on our Techni Ians I brag on the musicians and all those who work so diligently for us to have a worship service I brag on the preaching and the teachers and all but everything that we do if it ever becomes an exercise in our abilities if it ever turns into we've learned how to do things we can have church whether God shows up or not we're in big trouble you see when you have a an improper administration of the Spirit God can shake some stuff up when folks when we get too proud of what we think we can accomplish when we oh I I I'm going to do something special here we're going to bring the ark back but you see David didn't research it enough the ark wasn't to be carried on a cart with a dumb Ox pulling it the ark had staves and golden circlets that the ark was to be born by the prophet and the prophets and the priests the priests were to put the Ark on their shoulders and carry it you see when we start eliminating the priesthood from the church oh you're trying to elevate your position you better know I am it's not about me but it's spiritual leadership that God has given us Bishop quoted it so well that God would do away with the ark eventually and in its place he'd give us pastors he would give us ministers I honor not me but I honor the position of leadership no none are infallible but you better hear the word of God preach to you it can Israel had forgotten the proper administration of moving the ark you see the church and its influence of spiritual leadership of godall men with new modes will be destructive it will be deadly Church boards oversight committees organizational directives secular directives cannot replace spiritual leadership of the priesthood of preaching the preach gospel the truth of who God is never mistake he's placed people in our lives to carry the gospel and to carry the Covenant when the ARX stumbled The Arc shook a little shaking started taking place and aam meaning well but because of ignorance that had not been taught he put his hand out to steady the ark and God smoted him and he died because they didn't get a proper directive and have the proper administration of the spirit of God and the Covenant in the ark a man would lose his life remember what was in the Ark in the first place here's what the ark had first of all all it was overlaid round about with gold and inside was the golden pot that had Mana in it representative of God's Divine Provisions when God would provide for them in the wilderness also in the ark was Aaron's B Aaron's Rod that budded miraculously that represented Divine Deliverance it would guide them out of Egypt also in the ark was the tables of the Covenant or God's law there was provision there was Deliverance there was God's law all represented and yes on top of the Ark were the two cherums that overshadowed The Mercy Seat representing God's mercy let me tell you we don't need much else when God's providing when he's delivering when we can have his law and we got his Mercy oh what else do we need we just need it administered properly in the church Heaven Help Us when we think we've got a new mode a new cart a new direction for the gospel you see sometimes even God adds by subtraction sometimes he has to shake some things up and remove some things so the church can move forward you see I can't be shaken by the shaking when we started preparing to build this building once we got the all of the permits and all that kind of stuff one of the first things that we had to do was meet with the city inspectors and they had Foundation inspectors the foundation inspectors knew that experienced Builders would tell us all that a building would only be as strong as its foundation the strength and longivity of the building had to be taken care of we watched frankly hoping they'd hurry as they built the pad for this building and they had a foundation inspector who was out here and they would put a few inches of dirt down and then they had I call it a sheep foot but it was a thing that big weighted thing that would shake and pat down things and they'd put about a foot or two of dirt in there and they they'd get that all packed down and then they would roll this fabric out over that there a guy had a little instrument of some kind he would come and he would stick that instrument into the dirt to see how firm the foundation was and oh yeah I think he was making like something like $75 an hour to go do that you think we didn't want them to hurry and he would check that measurement and sometimes he would say okay or he' say nope nope they'd have to bring that Packer and that thing would start packing it down he would have to and time and time again layer after layer because it was imperative for this building to have longevity and strength it had to have a firm foundation how much more much we the church stay on the Foundation that Christ has built and not waver Luke 6:47 said it this way you know the story we used to sing about this in Sunday school whosoever cometh to me and heareth my sayings and doeth them I will show you to whom he is like he is like a man which built a house and digged deep and laid the foundation on a rock when the flood arose and the stream beat vially upon the house and could not shake it for it was founded upon the rock man that's one of the first songs we learned in Sunday school the wise man built his house upon the rock wise man built his house upon the rock don't tell me I was the only one knew that the wise man built his house upon the rock and the house upon the rock stood firm remember that but us hory kids couldn't wait to get to that next verse you know the foolish man built his house upon the sand bu man built his house upon the sand Bush man built his house upon and the on S fell flat and we'd all go out on the floor yeah the song I still remember but the message is more important you see the church must must never lose its foundation we must never lose what we have been planted on he it it went on to say but he that heareth and doeth not is like a man that is without Foundation building a house upon the Earth against which the stream did beat vehemently and immediately it fell and the ruin of the house was great Jesus is teaching the importance of a firm foundation first it was shaking now this was flooding that would cause the shaking so brother M what's the church built on what is our foundation Ephesians 2:19 says now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners but fellow citizens with the Saints and of the household of God and are built upon the foundation of the Apostles and the prophets Jesus Christ himself being the Chief Cornerstone in whom all the building fitly framed together oh Hallelujah groweth unto a holy Temple in God in whom ye also are building together for a habitation of God through the spirit now do you know what that just said did you hear what it said we're why are we an Apostolic church because we're built on the foundations of the Apostles and the prophets why do we sing so many songs about Jesus I mean every every song that got up here tonight I love Jesus and one song they end up saying Jesus Jesus Jesus Jes why that's our Chief Cornerstone if we lose Jesus in the name of Jesus from the house of God and become some secular movement when the floods of the enemy come in we're going to fall flat that's right oh hallelujah what is the foundation of the church what is our foundational Doctrine what are we built on Jesus told Peter he said I say unto thee also that thou art Peter and Upon This Rock will I build my church and the Gates of Hell shall not Prevail against it and I will give Thee the keys to the kingdom of heaven I know some of y'all yall way ahead of me but humor me let me finish I'll give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven whatsoever Thou shalt bind on Earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever Thou shalt loose on Earth shall be loosed in heaven what are those keys when Peter stood up in Acts the 2 chapter on the day of Pentecost they just asked him what must we do then Peter said here's your keys then Peter said un them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost for the promises unto you and to your children and all that are far off even as many as the Lord Our God shall come the church must stay on its Firm Foundation we cannot be shaken off of the Firm Foundation praise team musicians get ready you see when God does some shaking things start happening over in Acts the 16th chapter we read of Paul of Silas they' been locked up they were prisoners verse 25 of act 16 said at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang Praises unto God and the prisoners heard them I'm here to tell you when folks start praying and start singing praises there's a reason why we sing it's scriptural things start happening God knows how to do some shaking when we start praising and suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundation of the prisons were shaken and immediately all the doors were open and everyone's bands were loose listen if you've been bound by something if you felt like you've been in some kind of prison God knows how to open prison doors if you'll pray and you'll sing the Praises of God and The Keeper of the prison awakened at out of his sleep seeing the prison doors open he drew out his sword and would have killed himself supposing that the prisoners had been fled if prisoners Got Away in that day it meant the life of the prison keeper but Paul cried with a loud voice saying do thyself no harm we're still here we're not going anywhere we still got some business just cause the doors are open and we're not running God opened those doors so we could take care of some business for you then he called for a light and sprang in and came trembling and fell down be before Paul and Silas he was All Shook Up I want you to know and they brought and brought them out and said sir what I must I do to be saved there's the question what must I do to be saved he didn't tell him to start believing he didn't tell him to start obeying here's what he did did they spake unto him the word of the Lord and to all that were in the house and he took them that same hour washed their stripes and was baptized he and all his straight way when God does some shaking folks start realizing I need to get baptized in the name of Jesus I need to go down and be resurrected to walk in newness of life don't let that shake your theology Don't Be Shaken by the shaking let it get you where you need to be with Christ sometimes the very foundations have to be shaken but let me also say this there's some things that we have to shake off as well acts 283 Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire there came a viper out of the Heat and fastened on his hands and when The Barbarians saw the venomous Beast hang on his hand they said among them no doubt this man is a murderer whom though he had escaped the sea yet Vengeance suffereth not to live now get the picture Paul's been Shipwrecked they've come to an island with heathens barbarians the Bible refers to them as and they are sign Watchers and first when Paul survived the Shipwreck they said oh he must be a God let me tell you Church there are times there will be Seasons that we'll feel like everybody's just looking to us there's going to be season man it just looked like everything's going right but they were going to dry off so he's going to build a fire they start building a fire he gathers up a bundle of sticks to put in the fire and a Viper grabs him on the hand and hangs on he was snake bit if you will and The Barbarians looking for a sign said yep he must be a murderer he's done something dastardly because even though he escaped the sea Vengeance has got him but you know what he did he said I'm going to shake that thing off off he shook it off the fire Bible said it did him no harm there's some stuff been trying to attach itself to some of us that we're needing to shake off there's some stuff we need to start shaking off in our life there's some stuff we need to start eliminate if you've got doubt in your mind you need to shake off the doubt tonight stand with me if you've had worriness tempting you need to shake those things off say God I I know you're going to shake the foundation but oh but you know what what's been bothering me there's an old Serpent of my past keeps jumping up just latching on I can't get you need to shake your past off and know that God is a forgiving God he's the delivering God your mistakes your guilt you need to shake them off hallelujah hallelujah you see there was a bunch of shaking took place in the book book of Acts it happened time and time and time again there was a time when Peter and John would also face the trials of the Sadducees and the rulers and the scribes anas the high priest cafas John and Alexander they were all wanting to know how they healed the impotent man they first invoked the name of Jesus and they threatened said y'all just be quiet about this Jesus stuff you know what Peter said he said it's time to shake the foundations of this thing he said be it known unto you all and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth whom ye crucified whom God raised from the dead even by him does this man stand here before you whole this is the stone which was said at not of you Builders which has become the head in the corner neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved Jesus name is the saving name praise team come on out here I need a shaking song that said now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men they hadn't had time to go get a degree I'm not throwing off an education but Education Without spiritual enlightenment can make you make you spiritually as dumb as a box of rocks one song said you can go to your college you can go to your school if you ain't got Jesus you an educated fool I'm just quoting the song now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John perceived that they were unlearned ignorant they marveled and they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus and beholding that the man which was healed standing
