just remain standing get your Bibles your devices we're going to go to the Book of Romans chapter number six as you're turning there I want to welcome another new addition to our church we are so glad to have a [name redacted] today this is the dorton's little baby boy would you put your hands together for them congratulations Ashley and I were two of the first to get to hold him last week and we are so glad that he is here and we appreciate them so very much Romans chapter number six we're going to begin reading at verse number one Romans chapter number six beginning at verse number one what shall we say then [Music] shall we continue in sin that Grace May abound God forbid how shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein know ye not that so many of us as we're baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the father even so we also should walk in newness of life for if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death we shall also in the likeness of his resurrection knowing this that our old man someone say old man is crucified with him that the body of sin might be destroyed that henceforth we should not serve sin for he that is dead is freed from sin now if we be dead with Christ we believe that we shall also live with him knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more death hath no more dominion over him for in that he died he died unto sin once but in that he liveth he liveth unto God likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin but alive unto God through Jesus Christ Our Lord just a couple of more verses here let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body that you shall you should not obey its lust thereof neither yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness Unto sin but yield yourselves into God as those that are alive from the dead and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God and the last verse will speak of today for sin shall not have dominion over you for ye are not under the law but under grace this morning I want to help you I might teach more than I preach but I want to help you this morning winning the war against sin winning the war against sin why don't you lift up your hands lift up your hearts and will you ask the Lord to speak to you from his word father we thank you for another great week another great opportunity today to come to you and to worship and to worship you and to have fellowship with your people and to come under the authority of your word and I pray that the word of God would be like seed and find good ground that it might find some 30 some 60 and some 100 fold Harvest Lord let there be an illumination of your spirit for your word today in Jesus name we pray and everyone said amen why don't you clap your hands again today unto the Lord come on can you do it real loud can you do it real loud today thank you amen you can be seated winning the war against sin you have an enemy you have an enemy and your main enemy is not necessarily the devil now we want to think and we'd like to blame the devil for all of our troubles and all of our issues and certainly he is an enemy and we'll talk about that here in just a few moments but your greatest enemy is within you it is sin that is in you and when you are forgiven when you are saved from your sin sin is not eradicated from your body now I wish they were so I wish it and as soon as you had faith in Christ and repented of your sins and were baptized and filled with his spirit that you didn't have to deal with sin any longer wouldn't that be great but the the the reality is that we have been freed from the power of sin and yet though we have been free from the power of sin there is still the pollution of sin that remains in US and it is the pollution of sin that remains in us that becomes our enemy and so Paul is he is writing this letter to the Romans and it is a beautiful letter it is a deep letter and he begins to tell us of the the power of sin he tells us that all are under sin there is none righteous no not one that all of us have come short of the glory of God we've missed the mark we've come short of the glory of God and we are under the wrath of God because of our sin and yet Christ gave himself for us as we read in chapter number five he is our substitute he takes our place the Judgment that we should have received for our sin Christ took our place he took our place so we could be justified now justification means that you have been declared forgiven declared innocent now this is the free gift of God that you cannot earn you cannot pay you cannot do enough works to earn this free gift of salvation because it is a gift now it's not Christmas time though some of us might be praying for it soon with all this humidity and hot weather but when Christmas comes and I think I've shared this analogy before that when I uh when we get gifts for our little girl I don't wake her up at uh you know five o'clock in the morning on Christmas day don't shake her awake and say come on it's time to beg for your gifts come on get up start crying start begging for it start working for it you know we gotta go shovel the driveway you got to go do all this stuff before you can get these gifts no she has awakened her mother and father at Daybreak please get up she's the only begging that she is doing is for me to wake up from my stupor so she can receive her gifts I don't make her beg for the gifts I freely give it to her it is not a gift if you have to earn it salvation is not free Grace is not free if you have to work for it it is the free gift of God he wants to give you salvation he wants to give you power you don't have to beg for it he wants to give it to you therefore he took our place he he he he he paid the price of our sin through death and freely gives us salvation and so Paul is writing this letter and he knows that there will be some people who uh who are who are perturbed by such thinking that that you should be you should have to work for salvation you should have to do something for salvation and aren't you afraid Paul aren't you afraid that if we have Grace that that just means that you'll just live any old way that you want to he says in chapter 5 verse number 20 moreover the law entered that the offense might abound but where sin abounded Grace did much more abound so he's he he he follows that up puts a bookmark there and we get into chapter six he he he answers the question that he is perceiving will be asked what shall we say then shall we continue in sin that Grace May abound so if we've got this free gift of Grace that is our ticket out of the enslavement of sin won't Grace also be our ticket to live any way that we want to and Paul answers this rhetorical question with no God forbid how shall we that are dead to sin live any longer therein so when you are freed from your sin you are forgiven of your sin and though you still have the pollution of sin in you that it's just the beginning of your Warfare with your enemy but whereas before before you were saved before you were Justified you gave in to every temptation you gave in to your lust you gave in to your body you gave in to your desires and so what Paul is saying is that Grace didn't come to free you from sin only to let you stay in your sin but Grace as he tells Titus Grace has come to teach us to deny all ungodliness Grace is not just your your way out of sin Grace is the weapon to help you fight against your sin you want to win the war against sin in you well Christ has given us the weapons and the ability to win the war against sin he says uh what shall we say then shall we just continue in sin that Grace May abound God forbid how shall we that are dead to sin lived any longer therein we are dead to sin meaning when you come to faith in Christ and I think I have talked about this a few weeks ago you see the picture of Salvation the application of Salvation in Romans 4 5 6 7 and 8. in chapter four we see that we have come to faith in Christ it takes Faith to follow after the footsteps of Our Father Abraham who by faith it was counted to him as righteousness so when you come to faith in Christ you put your trust in him and then in chapter number five you are dead to sin you repent of your sin it takes faith it takes Faith because when you come to repentance you must believe that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him I have faith that when I come to him and confess my sins he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness it takes faith for you to repent but repentance means to turn around but it also means to put to death in you the old way of life we can't continue in sin because we've died to sin how can we continue the word continue in verse number one carries the idea of Habitual persistence the word was used of a person purposely living in a specific place and making it their permanent residence he says you can't continue living your old life once you've been born again you are being transferred from Darkness into light you have an address change you have a location change so when you come to Faith and you put to death the old man you don't continually you don't build your house in the old world you come over into the new world of faith and blessings and Power now he didn't say you're not going to be tempted to sin but a Christian is not going to continue to sin there's a difference between Temptation and habitual sin didn't say you're going to be removed from the temptation but instead you're going to be equipped to fight the Temptation my Lord have mercy I'm not going to continue living the old way because he has forgiven me I didn't just say I'm sorry but I I left the old life behind he calls it the old man now that's an old 60s reference to parents yeah my old man said this or maybe you you call your husband that maybe you shouldn't and brothers don't you dare call your wife your old lady I'm helping you today Waging War here I want you I want you to win don't call your old lady but he's not referring to it as that way he's saying the old man is the old life it's the unregenerate life it's the life that you used to live it's the life of of of of sinful decisions giving yourself over to all of your Temptations you gave no thought to Temptation before but now that you're in Christ you have a pause you have some breaks in your life that say well is this going to fulfill my flesh or is this going to fulfill the spirit before I gave in to every Temptation I gave in to every desire that's the old man and so when you come to Christ you put to death the old man you crucify the old man but here's the problem you're not killing yourself you're not killing this fleshly body you're not removed from your mortal body I'm talking about a spiritual old man Jesus said this if any man will come after me let him deny himself take up his cross and follow me if you're going to be if you're going to be buried with Christ and baptism you must first come to an altar in Repentance you have to take up the cross just as he he put his body on a cross we must like Isaac in the Old Testament put ourselves on the Altar and crucify the old man we must crucify the old man and his old desires Paul would say later in this letter for you if you live after the flesh ye shall die but if through the spirit do mortify the Deeds of the body you shall live now that seems counter-cultural to us that seems like a paradox to us put to death and you shall live Puritan John Owen famously wrote this and I love it be killing sin or sin will be killing you be killing sin or sin will be killing you you have to make up your mind that you are in a war with your sin and if you mortify mortify the Deeds of the flesh if you will crucify the old way of life you will live you're not going to succumb to every Temptation because you know I'm living for something greater than just a passing pleasure oh somebody say Amen this morning then he says this he moves on so we're crucified with Christ and then he says we're buried with Christ verses three through four know you're not that so many of us as we're baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the father even so we also should walk in newness of Life we've got faith we've got repentance and now we are buried with Christ in baptism Christians died to the power of sin when they were crucified with Christ in faith and repentance and then they are buried with him in baptism so as Christ was put in the Earth was put in a tomb we as we are dead to sin we are buried we are baptized with Christ baptism is Warfare you didn't hear me I said baptism is Warfare it's not simply a religious right or an event it's not a public profession of an inner experience oh no it's Warfare it's being buried it's burying the old man of sin and coming into Union with Jesus Christ picture taking off just picture with me taking off this old nature this old nature this old nature with all of its lust and desires and sinful deeds and evil and Wicked Ways you are removing it as you are entering into baptismal Waters and as you are baptized into Christ what happened to Jesus after three days he was resurrected in the power of God and so when we are baptized into his burial we put off the old man and we're putting on the new man now you see we we have our baptismal candidates they they come out in robes and certain attire and they do that for not any spiritual significance but they're doing that so they don't get their other clothes wet but what we're showing you is this is that when you take off the old man when you repent and you come to Faith you're taking off the old man and now you're putting on Christ you're putting on something that empowers you to continually wage war against the old and former life so you put on newness you put on something new he said be but put you on the Lord Jesus Christ and make not provision for the flesh to fulfill the lust thereof so when you are baptized into his burial you are no longer making provision for that which you took off it's a public declaration that I'm I'm leaving that all behind but I'm putting on something new and that new is Jesus Christ that's why you got to be baptized in his name because he was buried oh he was buried and I want to put him on so I can walk in newness of life he says in another place in Ephesians 4 be ye renewed in the spirit of your mind and that you put on the new man the new man the new man which after God is created in righteousness and true Holiness what does that mean that means I lay aside the old ways I lay aside the old nature of lying anger corrupt speech wrath bitterness lust in the idolatry and anything else that pictures the work of the flesh you have to bury that old man we used to sing a song Back in the Day called I'm going down to the river and I'm going to be buried alive right I want to show my heavenly father that I'm no longer the old man I've buried it you know what you do at a burial you put it in the ground and you leave it some of us need to bury our past some of your past haunts you like a boogie man in your closet and you know what you need to do you need to remind your past that I buried you I buried you in the blood of Jesus Christ I buried you in baptismal Waters in the name of Jesus I'm forgiven I'm a new creation and old things about oh I wish somebody would hear me some of y'all need to look at your past and say I buried you you're gone you're no lost stop haunting me stop coming around and trying to remind me what I used to be that's the old me let me tell you about the new me I'm a worshiper I'm a praiser I'm a servant I'm a giver oh I wish somebody was hearing me this morning but at the old things talking about Waging War aging War then he says we are raised with Christ verses five through nine he tells us this in so many different ways that we are raised with Christ he says verse number six knowing this no he wants you to know something and I'm going to expound on that here in just a moment we know this was something that they were aware of this was common knowledge in the first church they were to be aware that their old self is crucified and that they have become New Creations they were expected to be aware that their old self had been crucified their old attitudes former behaviors were crucified and now the power of sin has been broken and they have been empowered by the spirit after Jesus is raised from the dead he has got new power likewise after we have been buried and we have been raised into newness of life we have the spirit of God to empower us you have listened the Holy Ghost please hear me right now I'm pleased I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings and uh but just listen to me the Holy Ghost is not just for you to speak in tongues on one time when you first get the Holy Ghost that is such a low view of a theological truth that when you get the Holy Ghost it empowers you to live as a new creation you've greater is he that is in you than he that's in the world well what's in the world my old self my own decisions now I've got a new I'm in power with something more than just gifts I'm empowered with the reality that Christ is in me so I don't live any old way I want to because I've been bought with the prize and now that Christ is in me I'm empowered to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh I'm able to walk as a conqueror who oh I wish somebody new and realize that when you got the Holy Ghost you got everything that you needed you've got power you got blessing Paul would you say later on and the same spirit that raised Christ up from the dead that same Spirit that's in you will one of these days Quicken your mortal bodies it's your ticket out of this Earth one of these days whether you're in the grave or you're still alive the spirit of God is gonna I stopped looking for signs and I'm looking for the sun I believe that he's coming and one of these days The Same Spirit that raised him is going to raise us somebody say Amen you live alive he says you're alive to Christ the death of Christ was enough to conquer sin and death it will never have to be repeated there's a resurrection from the dead demonstrates that he defeated sin and death Believers must now consider themselves dead to sin and alive to God reckon he says reckon I think pastors said that's a East and a c word there I reckon well the word reckon means to consider and I'm going to expand on that here in just a few more moments the word reckon in Greek was used metaphorically to refer to having absolute unreserved confidence that affects your actions and your decisions so we consider we reckon it in other words it's it moves from words to actions it's no longer just a mental assent it is putting Faith to action in your life it is living now when you got the Holy Ghost when you got the Holy Ghost when you walk out of church you felt different anybody feel different and we see somebody I think it was Tony that came up out of the water on Wednesday not a camp meeting he we talked Wednesday night he's I feel different you know why because when you get the Holy Ghost change takes place now I would I now I'm from Indiana don't hold that against me please I'm from Indiana and I go back home every once in a while and teach and preach and I was there last year I was teaching and preaching and somebody from the old my old life my old days they said no preaching you're still in church it's like yeah well am I Lord that must be real yes it's real it's real when I got the Holy Ghost and when you got the Holy Ghost change and it's still fresh to me it's still fire to me all these years later why because when he gets into your heart and gets into your spirit real you reckon I'm different I'm Reckoning that I'm no longer the old Nate somebody needs to say I reckon I reckon I consider that the old Life Is Forgiven I reckon I consider that I'm no longer in my past someone say Amen let me give you four steps from these these texts four steps to win the war against sin you all ready brother brother Derek's going to help me put these up here number one reason reason if you're going to triumph over sin you've got to be prepared and he gives us four steps to win number one is reason and verses 3 6 and 9 he says he uses the word no k-n-o-w he asked first do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ were baptized into his death next he says we know that our old self was crucified with him then he says we know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again winning the war against sin listen to me now begins with your reason it begins in your mind to succeed you must possess a deep understanding of spiritual wisdom the prophet Jose and I love this text he says my people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge you can ignorance is not Bliss ignorance will get you ran over ignorance is not Bliss it will destroy you Jesus told this Sadducees you are wrong because you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God if you want to grow there are certain things you need to know if you want to grow there are certain scriptural Concepts you need to know Peter wrote in second Peter 3 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Paul would write in Ephesians and be renewed in the spirit of your mind a lot of our defeat with sin begins not with temptation but in our thinking it begins in how we think not every bird that flies over your head needs to make a nest in your brain you can't control certain thoughts that come to your mind but you can control whether or not they stay there you can't control everything that comes across the screen you can't control that everything that comes across your ears and your eyes and your mind but you can control you can reason all right it begins in your thinking and stinking thinking will get you living a smelly life if you're constant listen to me now if you're constantly trying to remember the old life oh I remember the old days oh yeah I remember how bad I was y'all want to hear some stories about how bad I was oh let me tell you how bad I was oh man it was bad and you know we start to Glory like Israel was in the wilderness oh I remember the leeks and the onions but they forgot the whips and the chains oh I remember how I partied but you seem to forget the hangover oh I remember all the relationships that I had but you forget about the heartache you can sit there if you want to but let me tell you something if we're going to win the war against sin if it's going to begin in between our ears in our thinking we need to be renewed in the spirit of our mind we must realize that it begins in our thoughts and we have to reason how can you do that how can you get your thinking right you fill it with the word of God the word of God is the sword of the spirit when Satan came and tempted Jesus three times he said it is written if you want to fight against sin that comes up out of your own flesh you need to say it is written I am a child of God I am a Son of God I am a daughter of God I am forgiven I all things have been passed away come on I'm reasoning it begins in my mind you move someone said recently in a book that I read you always move in the in the in the direction of your strongest thoughts you will always move in the direction of your strongest thoughts if your strongest thoughts are fear and worry and anxiety your whole life will start to follow after that if your thoughts are always lust and adultery and all kinds of fornication your life will start to follow after that if your thoughts are always greed and envy and jealousy come on you're going to move in the direction of your thinking but if you can start to say I'm going to think upon some good things whatsoever is lovely whatsoever is good whatsoever is spiritual whatsoever is Heavenly whatsoever pleases my heavenly father it is written number one reason number two here's that word reckon got a reckon four steps to win the war against SIN number one reason number two reckon gotta reckon it means to be calculum to calculate or to estimate something to be true belief is a powerful force that acknowledges God's truth in our lives knowing and believing are two distinct Concepts okay you know it start in your brain okay I know it how can you act upon it how do you act how do you reckon it I want you to think about and envision what you want to be good right now you've been doing it all week I'm sure I'm sure at some point you thought about what here's what I'd like to do here's where I'd like to be okay you want to be a better husband you want to be a better father you want to be a better employee you want to be a more spiritual person it begins here you're thinking about it you're envisioning it now the Reckoning is how do I get there how do I put it to action how do I live that out what changes do I make to move in the direction of the vision my Lord have mercy and see it begins in our if you know I'm just I just hop on this hope I can just make it every day okay just to exist you're not going to make much of a difference in anybody's life just existing but if you say I want to be this I want to see I want to be what God's called me to be I want to be a greater Minister I want to be a greater servant I want to be a greater why if I want to be a greater child of God whatever it is you've got to have to start putting it into action and how you do that is in your decision making and see if you're still making the same Choice I'm helping somebody right now if you're staying if you're making the same choices that you made before you are born again you're going to get the same results as you did before but when you repent and when you have faith and when you're buried with him and you've got new life you're going to have to get rid of the thinking and the same decision making and start walking in a New Direction and that is towards the direction of what God has called me and purposed me to be gotta wreck in it it's not just it's not just simply thinking it and believing it you're going to have to put it into action it's embracing these beliefs number three resist reason reckon resist Paul says in verse 12 let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body to make you obey its Passions you cannot be passive in your fight against sin let go and let God that is not in this Bible oh just let go and let God nowhere in the Bible does it say that anywhere we have taken some bumper sticker ideology and given it theological implications and we're being defeated by sin and temptation all the time because we think we have no part in our fight against sin but you're going to have to resist you're going to have to resist you cannot be passive in your fight come on there's no Switzerland in spiritual warfare there is no neutral in spiritual warfare if you get or if you become neutral in your spiritual warfare you are going to be destroyed you have to fight for your freedom come on now what did James say chapter 4 verse 7 submit yourselves therefore to God resist the devil and he mightfully no he he could flee come on there's two things you got to do right here you've got to submit yourselves to God and you got to fight your enemy putting up a fight you got to resist a little bit you're going to have to he's Peter would say this he said be sober be vigilant because your adversary the devil has a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom him he does not want to be pet he does not want to be your pet he I think Pastor Anthony Priestess years ago had a tiger out here he does not want to be your little tiger that you just pet every once in a while a little lion that eat his whole roll around in the in the dirt with oh no he wants to devour you your enemy has no peace treaty in mind there is no truce in his Spirit he wants to kill he wants to destroy he wants to rob you of everything that God has in your life and you have to resist you have to you have to resist resisted fast in the faith knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world that means that your neighbor you're sitting next to you right now is fighting the devil in some way shape or form you got to resist you got to put up a fight you just can't simply roll over and say well I just hope it works out and I I may be out and maybe Grace will work for me and maybe Mercy will work for me and what you're doing is you're beginning to go backwards in your faith but you're gonna have to fight this is not a cruise ship Christianity is not a cruise ship it is a battleship it is a fight if you if you're going to have a healthy spiritual life you're gonna have to fight for it if you're going to have a spiritually healthy family you're going to have to fight for it if you want to grow this church we're going to have to fight for it if you want to grow project 180 and Kids Quest and be free we're well you know what we're doing we're entering the battlefield and we're going to have to fight for I wonder if somebody's ready to resist today I'm wondering if somebody's ready to put on the whole armor of God I wonder if somebody's ready to resist and so we can win come on musicians get ready stand to your feet got to resist gotta fight can't be passive can't be neutral gotta fight gotta resist and where is it at it's in US Paul would say in chapter seven one chapter over oh Wretched Man that I am he doesn't say oh wretched Satan that he is who shall deliver me from that Old Devil yeah that's a that's an enemy but Paul says evil is always present with me why because me goes everywhere me I'm I'm my biggest problem is me oh the devil he beat up on me today well did you pray pray I haven't prayed in three months but no the devil oh oh the devil he was just right at my doorstep today why don't you get in the word of God I don't even know where my Bible is at right now okay all right oh you know the Devil he's after my money and my finances have you tithed oh I haven't done that ever I don't believe in that stuff oh that's why the Bible calls him a Devourer you know the Lord I think the Lord showed me something from that scripture that he will rebuke the Devourer sometimes I'm wondering if we're the devourers oh the devil's after me I don't oh did the devil make you sign that contract for that one hundred thousand dollar car oh the devil's after my finances oh the devil didn't make you pay your bills the last three months oh you can sit there if you want to he ain't going to rebuke that Devourer you do he'll rebuke the spiritual devour but some of us need to rebuke our own Devourer called not being disciplined well it's truth anyhow the devil oh he's always after me no it's sin that's in me it's it's the Temptation that's always in me reason reckon resist number four we're closing here replace he says present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from Death to life and your members to God as instruments for righteousness now the word members is in reference to our bodily Parts like our mind and our eyes our hands and our feet and our ears we used to present our members to all kinds of other worldly nonsense right we gave ours we gave ourselves over to anything that we wanted to put it before our eyes put it in our ears put it in our minds put it in our bodies whatever it is going to do it and so you have to replace what you used to do my sister Liv Hill is I don't think she's in here right now but she is she is doing an amazing job helping people fight for their physical health now I know it doesn't look like it but I have been resisting some cookies lately it's not cake that I need to fight against I don't like cake it's the cookies it's the Doritos it's the Taco Bells at 11 o'clock at night I want to rebuke that Devourer because I've been devouring it for years and I've been resisting lately all summer been going out trying to walk trying to run trying to help myself a little bit and you know what you have to do when you start to resist you start to exert energy and you start to exert power and your muscles begin to get fatigued and so what do you have to do you have to replace what you've lost you have to replenish what you've exerted then with with the same with your diet is that when you it's the cookies all right or I'm gonna resist I'm going to resist I'm going to resist first of all I gotta stop buying them foreign got to stop buying them gotta replace it now I can't replace it with sugar-free cookies I did that when I was a kid and it was the worst thing that I've ever lived through in my entire life sugar-free candy sugar because I had hypoglycemia when I was a little little boy and so mama had to get me sugar-free stuff and it was sugar-free all the time and it was Joy free all the time [Music] so I have to replace it with something else to satisfy the craving are you hearing me now or hear me I'm I'm coming I'm pulling them back to the spiritual so when you used to do those things you're going to have to replace it you've come through faith and repentance and the Waters of baptism you've got the spirit you're living a new life you can't go back to that so I've got to replace it and so if I want to resist and I'm going to exert energy against against the devil and against my sin I'm gonna have to replace it with something that feeds and nourishes my inner man and so you replace it with things that feed your spirit like prayer like worship like Fellowship like the word of God like serving other people come on that's what we do we are replacing that which we have resisted and replacing the things that I used to I'm yielding my members to something else for steps keep it all those up there brother Derek gotta I don't have to reason I'm gonna have to reckon I'm going to have to resist going to have to replace those are four r's that you can remember today when you walk out of here you go home and temptations there or it's tomorrow or it's Wednesday or maybe it's Friday you've had a long week you're tired you're taxed out and and here comes Temptation you know what you should do [Music] dead to sin I'm crucified with Christ I'm forgiven because of what he's done for me and then I have to reckon now that I'm living it differently I don't live as I used to live I'm I'm a new creation old things are passed away and then I'm gonna have to resist devil Nate it is written you shall not you shall not I shall do this and you see what I'm saying now I'm resisting I'm I'm using the word of God to resist and then I replace some of us we are we don't get occupied enough listen to me now listen to me listen to me listen you know what some of us need to do this is so spiritual gonna blow your mind two things either get a job or get a hobby because when we sit around and scroll all day and we and we and we and we change channels all day and we're putting all kinds of nonsense in our minds and our hearts and maybe we've been in we've been infected by our our workplace in our classrooms and wherever else and all of a sudden all those things we've been exposed to start to fight at us a little bit and all we do is scroll we scroll we scroll we scroll we scroll we click we click we click you know what you need to do get up and get a hobby go outside but this is not spiritual it is spiritual you're too practical good I just want you to know some Angel is not going to come into your room and say hey start fighting start resisting start reasoning there's no there's no there's no angel gonna come to your house and do that you're going to have to do it you're gonna have to have some discernment you're going to have to start taking inventory of the things that you're tempted with you're going to have to take inventory of your emotions and your mentality and say either I'm gonna I'm gonna give in or I'm going to reason I'm going to reckon I'm going to resist and I'm going to replace would you lift up your hands right now all over this room I want to help you today come on somebody that you can win the war against sin you can win the war against Temptation you can win the war against what you're fighting you don't have to go back to it you don't have to succumb to it you don't have to give in to it I'm not saying 10 days is going to go away but I want to help you right now to get some weapons in your hands come on is there somebody who's like you know that's what I need to do it starts with my mind I need to be renewed in the spirit of my mind it begins in my thinking it begins in my mentality maybe somebody needs to reckon it's because Beyond just knowing it has begun it begins then to be doing I gotta act it out and then it becomes to realize that I've got to fight I've got to exist I've got to pray I've got to take out the sword of the spirit but now I need something to replace the old things I need some new spiritual habits I need some new spiritual Godly hobbies that will help me win the war against sin come on would you lift up your hands lift up your heart that be in Christ is a new creature the old has passed
