I felt this in my spirit the last couple of weeks and I thought I would just share it with you today Genesis 26 beginning at verse number 12 then Isaac sowed in the land and received in the same year and hundredfold and the Lord blessed him and the man waxed great and went forward and grew until he became very great for he had possessions of flocks possessions of herds and great stories servants and the Philistines envied him for all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father the Philistines had stopped them and filled them with Earth and abimelech said to Isaac go from us for thou art much mightier than we and Isaac departed Vince pitched his tent in the valley of garar and dwelt there look at verse 18. and Isaac digged again the wells of water which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father for the Philistines that stopped them after the death of Abraham and he called them their names after the names by which his father had called them and Isaac's servants digged in the valley and found their a well of springing water the Herdman of Gerard had strive with Isaac's Herdman saying the water's ours and he called the name of the well Essick because they strove with him they digged another well and strove for that also when he called the name of it sitna he removed from thence and digged another well and for that they strove not and he called the name of it Rehoboth and he said for now the Lord had made room for us and we shall be fruitful in the land he went up from thence to Beersheba look at verse 24 and 25 and we'll close from there and the Lord appeared unto him the same night and said I am the god of Abraham thy father fear not for I am with thee I Will Bless thee and multiplied I seed after my servant Abraham's sake look at verse 25 and he built an altar there and called upon the name of the Lord pitched his tent there and there Isaac's servants digged a well this morning I won't preach very long but I do want your help and the help of the Lord as I preach from this thought old Wells and new altars old Wells and new altars won't you put your Bibles down your devices down won't you lift up your hand all over the sanctuary and let's invite the presence of the Lord in this moment father we thank you for your spirit that is here we thank you Lord for the time of worship we thank you for the time of prayer and praise but Lord I pray now as the preached word Goes Forth that you would anoint my lips of clay and I pray that you would open up the ears of your people Lord as this spirit gives and speaks to us allow us to hear what you're saying in this time in Jesus name we pray and everybody said amen why don't you clap your hands real loud today amen amen turn around give somebody a high five and tell them I'm going to help Pastor Nate preach then you can be seated or hold them to that don't make a liar out of somebody amen you told it you said it now hold them to it all right old Wells a new altars Isaac the son of Abraham is he's quite an overshadowed character in The Bible even though he is considered a patriarch of the faith Abraham Isaac and Jacob he's still overlooked due to the large shadow cast by Abraham and his father and even Jacob his son of the three Patriarchs Isaac lived the longest he lived for 180 years Abraham died at 175 and Jacob his son died at 147. though Isaac lived the longest only one chapter is solely given to Isaac Isaac is known mostly for his willingness to lie on the Altar for his father Abraham he's also known for being deceived by his son Jacob yet Isaac shows us that a believer can be faithful to God and God can bless him though there's not much written about them in their life Isaac though is a man of the well author A.W pink says this Isaac was essentially the man of the well Abraham was markedly the man of the altar Jacob especially the man of the tent but that which was most prominent in connection was with Isaac was the well end quote so Isaac came from The Well of lahorei to meet Rebecca's future wife he also had been chosen by Abraham's servant at a well nonetheless no less than seven times Wells are mentioned in the life of Isaac Isaac fought no great battles he built no Mighty cities he erected no monuments he quietly dug Wells he was Peaceable but he had to defend what was rightfully his our text this morning takes us to the place where Isaac begin to re-dig the whales of his father Abraham he had come to the place of Gerard the Philistines the first verse of chapter 26 tells us that there was a famine in the land a famine means that water is a scarcity things are not looking good and so Isaac had to find something to take care of his family and his servants remember if you go back to chapter 25 Jacob and Esau are already born and they're men at this point and yet we find Isaac trying to take care of not just himself but of his household in a time of a famine he realized I need something not just for myself but for everyone else and so he begins to re-dig the Wells of his father when there's a thirst during a famine it calls for Desperate Measures it's Desperate Measures you'll do anything to get what you need he came upon the wells that his father had dug but inside of them they had been filled with dirt in Earth the Philistines it says had stopped them up after the death of Abraham and so when Isaac realizes we're in a famine and my family and my household is thirsty I need to get them some water now I want you to understand something a well is different from a cistern and that is a place of running water but water is imperative for the maintenance of the Natural Life so too is it that we must need Living Water for our spiritual life if we're going to live in a time of famine like we're living now where the world wants to see us dry up and die I want to tell you the only thing that will quench The Thirst of you your family in this world is to re-dig the Wells of our forefathers come on he didn't dig new wells he found the old Wells Mercy he found a place where his father had dug and found sustenance for himself my Lord have mercy somebody had stopped them up with Earth and dirt they had stuffed them full of the things of this world but when Isaac got there he said I know there's water here I know there's something that will bring us life in a famine can I tell you right now in this world we don't need new wells we need to re-dig the old Wells of our fathers what are you talking about Pastor whales of prayer Wells of fasting whales of Bible study whales of witnessing Wells of Doctrine whales of the godhead whales of the name of Jesus Wells of repentance Wells of baptism whales of the whole I'm telling you right now we need to re-dig the whales we don't need thee we don't need new wells we need the old Wells that has the old Living Water somebody say Amen can I tell you something digging's hard anybody ever dig anything before are you digging it right now I moved to Potts Camp Mississippi back in 2007. it's in Northern Northwest part of the state of Mississippi moved there in September dry hot red clay everywhere you know I moved there to work with Pastor John Vasquez and Bishop Steve Wilson I hadn't met Bishop Wilson before and I had moved there without meeting him and I was there a few weeks and somebody who had lived in another state had passed away and they had been cremated and they decided that they had bought a plot of the cemetery there next to the church in Bethlehem and they wanted to dig they wanted to bury that urn of his ashes in the ground well I was the intern of the church so guess who had to dig the grave me and I said okay what do we have to do where's the back home where's the trench digger you know and brother V said there's a shovel in the shed okay I said uh how how big does it got to be you know he said three by three doesn't have to be a whole grave you know like a six foot deep grave this had to be three feet wide and three feet deep I said all right I'll go get me a shovel and we'll start doing it so I go and start digging this red clay I mean dry September heat I mean it's it's like about you know 200 degrees in Mississippi at this time of the year you know and uh and so I'm out here trying to dig and I'm I'm I across the street from the church you have to go there if you've never been there it's just a little little part of town there and Bishop Wilson lived across the street from the church and I got to digging and man I got about three inches in I mean I have been digging for like a good three or four hours you know I was like there's got to be an easier way than this so I sit down I look across the street and I see Bishop Wilson who I've never met before looking out his window like this I thought oh God Jesus oh God Jesus right now father opened up the dirt oh God help me right now father and I seen the door open dig Nate dignate dignate dignate I got about another quarter inch in I was like oh Jesus help me here comes Bishop Wilson he walks across the street and he says you got a bucket I said no sir I don't have a bucket it's got this shovel he goes oh I'm gonna go get you a bucket that's all right go get me a bucket and I'm I've got I broke out of sweat you know this city boy is in in trouble here I got calluses on my hand blisters on my hand my back's hurting he goes and gets this bucket I'm thinking something about this bucket's going to help me get a little bit further into this into this ground he gets the bucket he comes bring this five gallon bucket he turns it over and he sits on it and watches me her father father God in heaven right now Lord Jesus they're going to fire me on the first month Lord Jesus you know what I need right now I need a miracle he said you know what would help a little bit if you poured some water on it you know a little water would go a long way and so he went and filled the five gallon bucket up and pour the water on it turned it back over sat down and said now try it can I tell you something if you're ever going to have anything in your life it's going to be hard Isaac said if there's something here that brought sustenance for my family before I'm willing to put in some work and some effort I'm not looking for the easy way I'm here to re-dig the old well come on if you want something you're going to have to work for it if you want Revival you're going to have to pray you're going to have to fast if you're going to see your family safe you're going to have to put some time and some effort into it if you're going to make a difference in your ministry you better get you a shovel and say let me Father bredig the old Wells come on somebody it's not gonna be easy it's not gonna be easy but if you want to find the waters that will quit your thirst you need to say I'm willing to dig and dig and dig until I strike if you believe that I want you to clap your hands unto the Lord come on somebody say Amen they get stuff full of junk the world will put all kinds of junk in the whales they'll get clogged with worldliness and apathy are you hearing me come on those those old truths Those Old Paths those old ways the old Wells they can get stopped up with worldliness and carnality and apathy but you're going to have to be willing to work for it and dig for it clear it out clean it out there's something here that's going to bring life to me and my family I wish somebody was helping me today he went there and he found the old Wells here they are stuffed full of dirt and mud and muck and mire he said boys this brought life to my daddy prayer brought Revival to my family fasting brought Revival come on We're not gonna let worldliness we're not going to let apathy we're not going to let carnality we're not going to let truth be forgotten but we're going to say listen we're willing to dig for it we're willing to put some time into it if it gave them life before come on he didn't need a new location listen to me now he did not need a new location he didn't improve the location the wells were in the right spot can I just tell somebody today please listen to me as a pastor for a few moments sometimes you don't need a new location you just need to learn how to dig you need to dig Where You Are I don't mean to mean mean or be or be crude or rude I hope you don't take it that way but let me tell you something if you don't win souls in your home Church you're not going to win souls in Africa come on if you didn't start a business here you're not going to start a business in Canada somewhere come on somebody you don't need a new location you need to dig Where You Are [Applause] brother now I want to travel and evangelize the world good it starts right here in a Sunday school class brother Nate I want to go reach the world with this gospel fantastic get you a Bible study you don't need a new location you just need to dig Where You Are well you can sit there if you want to the grass is not greener on the other side what you need to do is get you a bucket and start pouring some water so it's green on your side you don't need a new church you need the old Wells to be dug up [Applause] Lord have mercy Isaac was not an innovator he was an emulator he didn't reinvent the well he went back to the original well and said let's dig it up when there's a famine that means water is scarce there's no Rivers next to him there's not an ocean next to him he says it's right here right now if I want to get something to feed my family and take care of my household it's here right now can I say this too if you go back a few verses we read them the Bible says that Isaac was blessed he was wealthy he was well off he could have sat back like a fat cat I'll pay somebody to go 100 miles or get me some water somewhere I'm gonna tell you something I'm I'm afraid we've let Prosperity become our curse that ease and comfort has kept us from digging some things in our life Well ma'am all did it and Grandpa did I'm just going to sit back and enjoy Their Blessings somebody needs to get a burden for their own family today and say listen as for me and my house we're going to serve the Lord I'll dig I'll pray I'll study I'll Witness how worship I'll give it's the old Wells modern thirst will be quenched by the Timeless Waters of old Wells I wish somebody's hearing me today maybe I need to preach better I'm so sorry but let me tell you something the modern thirst of this world doesn't need new Waters it needs the old Waters we don't need a new message we got the old message it's the original message that will do it's the old-time gospel it's the old-time message that will bring satisfaction and fulfillment to this world but it's not just for your family it's for the ones who are coming along Abraham left a trail of Wales Abraham left a trail of whales and Isaac said here I am dad you knew I'd be here one of these days let me re-dig those Wells myself because I got a Jacob I've got a Esau I've got a Joseph in my future that's going to need these Wells don't live for yourself but live for those who are coming after you truth never gets stale and it never molds but truth can be forgotten why do you guys keep preaching this message because it's the same message that works we don't need a new message we don't need a message of prosperity and all the things that this world's trying to give us we have the old message that will bring life it's the same water it's the same truth it's the same disciplines it's the same lifestyle so my same man we need a recovery of old truths brother Nate can I preach to our young preachers just for a second I'm gonna preach our young preachers I love young preachers and young ministers but I tell you something you don't need a new message get off of YouTube get off a tick tock get off of a Facebook you're not going to get a sermon there you'll get a message there you'll find some little one-liner there but somebody needs to get back in this book and say let me tell you something if it brought Revival to Knoxville 50 years ago it's going to bring Revival 50 years from now come on dig it out for yourself dig it out for yourself open up the book and read yourself silly get it in your heart get it in your spirit and preach it [Applause] someone say Amen I'm going to get to your living right now listen to me now the way Abraham dug that well brought water the way Isaac may have dug that well may have been different you think the tools would have improved between the time Abraham did it and Isaac did it come on new methods can be used to obtain thirst quenching water now how we used to do it brother Nate is we had the old hymn books well praise God praise God I'm on the screen now yeah but what it's words yeah but brother Nate back in my day we didn't have no lights we had kerosene oh and now yeah but Abraham dug this with his hands good for Abraham I got a shovel Isaac dug it with a shovel thank God I got a backhoe now can I tell you something new methods can still bring the same old water don't be married to a method be married to the message if they're getting the Holy Ghost with the lights off praise God if they're getting the Holy Ghost with the lights on praise God if they're getting the Holy Ghost with the hymn books praise God yeah but you see what we've done we've married the method to the message and when somebody starts tinkering around with the method all of a sudden you call them a liberal or a charismatic but what we really need to do is divorce ourselves from methods and say any way that we can get them in I became all things to all men that I might win some lights on colored lights no lights Bible studies small groups whatever it takes let's go get some water and quench The Thirst of the I wish somebody was here on me today if you believe that I thank God for the old ways Abraham I don't need your shovel Abraham I need the water Jesus have mercy right now we got a whole generation looking for a method and God's saying hey I don't care how you get to the bottom of that well just get it I don't care how loud it is or how soft it is or how dark it is or how bright it is or how new it is get to the water well I've already made you mad I'll keep doing it anyway you know why we need Revival here this world needs the old message let's get it to him any way we can if it's on TV if it's on the internet if it's on social media if it's in books if it's in magazines if it's in podcasts if it's in preaching if it's in small groups let's get the water let's get the water let's get the water there [Applause] Jesus have mercy get there God have mercy don't be married to the shovel when you're in a black hole generation that's how mammal used to do it thank God for that yeah back in the day we used to not have air conditioning poor souls I can't hear your overall air conditioning right now don't get upset with new methods if it's getting the same water it's it's too dark in here are they speaking in tongues [Applause] well I made you mad I'll keep going well it's just a colored lights and all these newfangled gadgets are they getting baptized in Jesus name are they getting a call on their life my god let's not be married to methods let's be married to the message [Music] don't shoot bread don't make your preferences Doctrine don't make your opinions Doctrine it's the message it's the water that matters Jesus have mercy I better keep moving before I get fired it's the truth though I thank God for what you know it's amazing to me I'll tell they'll say hey man you all been on TV for about what 10 years like we've been on TV since Noah got off the ark my God Bishop invented the TV they're like you're telling me y'all were on TV 50 years ago yes you know why because a man said it doesn't matter the method that matters is the message and if I can get it to them in East Tennessee and Sevierville in Johnson City I don't care how I get there let's let's get it let's just get the message to him [Applause] dig dead dead the old low Wells yeah I've lost half of you already what's you know what I'm gonna tell my little girl however I tell my whatever God tells you to do you do it I'm not going God don't let me I told my wife the other day I told Ashley I said God don't let me get old don't let me get old and my wife should we make this our prayer God don't let me forget what it was like to be young [Music] come on we ain't got to get rid of some of this old shovel thinking and say well here's how we did it 50 years ago well praise God thank God but we got new technology new methods we can dig a well in one day it doesn't take us three years any longer why because God has blessed us and provided for us let's just get to the water somebody say Amen he got to it and they started drinking Philistines didn't care when they were digging they started getting worried when they started drinking y'all can dig all day look at how look at all them though they're digging and they start drinking during a famine now hold on that's not how we do it around here those are ours that's my water you know what Isaac did take it there's another one over here I'm gonna dig that one too all right you all have it keep digging they start digging and they start drinking whoa when you start tapping into Old truths you're going to get some new and old enemies you start teaching Bible studies to somebody on Jesus name baptism don't be surprised when they're a Philistine preacher and their family shows up they don't care when you're digging it's when you're in the water you start talking about Holy Ghost and feeling and speaking with other tongues they say ah you don't need all that and then when you do you're like oh my Lord you've been brainwashed over there then you start living a certain way and you start walking a certain way you say hey don't take all of that can I tell you something if I'm getting my soul fed if I'm getting my family fed I'm gonna keep on digging I'm gonna keep on drinking and if I have to dig and fight I'll dig in fights sometimes it needs to be a contending for the faith because the difference between contending for the faith and being contentious with the faith Isaac contended for it he wasn't contentious with it nobody's going to want your water if you're being contentious all the time well you didn't vote for my party contentious well I won't get on there and tell everybody how I feel contentious but if you'll go to the Wells and just drink from and they're going to say hey what's going on over there I'll tell you what I'm doing I'm re-dicking some whales and I'm getting my soul fed I'm getting my life fed contend but don't be contentious somebody say he's kept on digging and guess what he called those Wells he didn't give them new names the Bible says he named them the same names that Abraham named him you know this world wants us to be politically correct and as pastor says we shouldn't be politically concerned if the Bible calls it adultery it's adultery if the Bible calls it an Abomination it's an Abomination we don't have to rename come on somebody we don't have to rename it we just need to say this is what God's word says this is what he names it that's what it is if it was sin 50 years ago it's sin today [Applause] oh he didn't get involved with trying new things he says go back to the whole house I'm almost done Ashley and the team could come and notice what happens when he does that the Bible says in verse 24 the Lord we want a visitation from God it's not going to take a new revelation it just goes back to the place where God met with Abraham before can God visit us like he did with Abraham and Isaac you must have the same faithfulness and tenacity as they did God came to Isaac at the well this is the place where I met your father God have mercy there's some places that God will only meet you where he's been before oh Jesus help me I met I met Mark McCool here now it's your turn Anthony it's your turn Easton it's your turn [name redacted] it's your turn [name redacted] your turn this is where I met them this is where I met Lewis Hera and I'm going to meet Sean debusk and Caleb debusk here this is where I met some former Generations but their blessing was their blessing and their dedication was their dedication but Isaac I see your desire Nathan I met your mammal Lindsay here I met your great grandma mammal Chambers here and I want to meet you here there's some places that God wants to visit us if we'll go back to the old places our forefathers and our Patriarchs and matriarchs that went before us places where God was welcome see you want me I think I'm going to bless you notice what he says in verse 24 I'm going to bless you and I'm going to bless your Offspring we've got to get out of this me idea that it's only about me I'm not living just for me you're not just living for you Jason how if you're not just living for yours you're living for [name redacted] and [name redacted] they have you know what we're trying to do we're trying to take them to the well I know there's water here dad showed me years ago I was there I was there I know there's I know there's water here somewhere he showed me years ago there's a certain way to live he showed me there's a certain way to worship he told me there's a certain way to be dedicated and committed that's where he's gonna meet you at stand to your feet it's old Wells but it's also new altars the Bible says that the Lord showed up at the well God have mercy he showed up at the well and Isaac said I'd do something with this [Music] I know it dad used to do he'd build an altar hey servants go get me some stones go get me some mud some dirt I'm going to build me an altar here where God met me yeah I have some old Wells that I've redone but I need some fresh commitment for me you see Joseph Perez free digging whales of his father's Doug years ago planting churches all over this country but you know what Joseph can't have Joseph can't have Bishop Perez's altars won't work he has to build his own altars of sacrifice his own altars of commitment the wells are good but I need an altar you know what I'm afraid of right now in this generation we know how to shout we know how to dance we know how to dress but we don't know how to sacrifice Prosperity will do that to you but Isaac said even though I'm prosperous I'm going to build an altar don't forget I as it was the one [Music] who is going up the altar going up the mountain with Abraham his dad said hey we got wood we got fire where's the sacrifice Abraham said God will provide Isaac it's you now in our thinking our Sunday school thinking over the years we think that Isaac was a little boy he wasn't a little boy he was in his 20s or 30s by this time so when they get up there and they build this altar together Abraham Taps Isaac on the shoulder and says son you got to get up there [Music] get on the altar Isaac Isaac didn't fuss and fight and say ah that doesn't take all that [Music] he doesn't take all that debt oh he doesn't take all that living for God doesn't take all that living life looking like that and living like that ah out no Isaac got up on the altar tie me down dad if God's called you to do this I'll do it but God provided a ram and a Thicket because Abraham obeyed and Isaac believed and all those years later eyes I could have said I could I could see Isaac next to those Wells and God visiting him and him remembering the moment because Daddy's altars are not my altars got to tell you Bishop McCool and sister McCool's altars aren't my altar you're a mammal and your papaw's altars are not your altar your mother and your grand your and your father may have built altars it may have been great wonderful Godly holy people but their altars are not your altars you can have their blessings you can you can be you could drink from their Wells you can't have their altars you know what we need right now in this generation some altar builders well then what do you mean by altar builders I mean a lifestyle of sacrifice a lifestyle of giving your life to Christ not just doing it on Sundays not just doing it on Wednesdays not just doing an NYC not just doing it every once in a while but every day a living foreign I read yesterday and I'm closing I promise we call radical what God calls reasonable I'm going to say that again we call radical but God calls our reasonable service I mean you're all radical know it's reasonable are you hearing me when you give your life as a Living Sacrifice unto God holy and acceptable unto him that is a reasonable service this is not radical this is reasonable [Music] we need the old Wells but we need some new altars I wonder if someone would lift up their hand right now let me just I'm going to do this first I feel this in my spirit if there's some young Ministry young Ministry when I say Minister and I want you to think just a man I want you I believe in Ministry of the people and if you're a young lady a young man you feel like Call of God in your life I want you to come right now because we need the old Wells but we need some new altars in our lives come on I want you to come to an altar this is not an altar this is just a little area we pray in but I wonder if somebody can say I'm going to build an altar in my life I want the old Wells I want the doctrine I want the truth I want the I want the things that brought Revival but I need some altars in my life now I wonder if we would have some an Isaac generation maybe you're the second or third in your family that's lived for God I want you to come now if maybe you're the Isaac generation you're not necessarily the first generation but you're the second or third I want you to come and say you know what I want to do I want to re-dig the old whales of my mom and dad and my grandma and grandpa come on I want mammal sellers I want her well but I gotta have my altars now if you're a first generation maybe you're the Abraham generation I want you to come I want you to come and say I'm the first but I'm gonna dig some whales so my kids and their kids can drink and find sustenance I'm gonna show them how to build altars I'm gonna show them I'm gonna show them what commitment and dedication looks like I want to show them what all the things that God can do for them oh yeah come on there's some old Wells that need to be redone but we need to build some new altars of dedication and sacrifice [Applause] [Music] Lord show me the place show me the place for Abraham show me the place where the generations before me come on have some whales of water well I'm gonna dig in the house I'm gonna dig out worldliness and get me to the water [Applause] [Music] those simple things that I want you the memories [Music] but I must confess [Applause] [Music] [Applause] and yet [Applause] [Music] [Music] take me back yes [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] dear Lord where I am the Holy Ghost is ministering right now would you pray for somebody come on would you pray for somebody come on show somebody where the old Wills are yes take me back [Music] take me back [Applause] [Music] take me back dear Lord to the place [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Applause]
