we're going back to the word of the lord does anyone anybody recall last week what we talked about dedication yeah but any any details you recall we spent a lot of time talking about solomon's temple and how that after all that he had done after after all the of the incre almost unbelievable feat that he did uh the temple was was the greatest thing basically that humanity had ever seen as far as a structure is concerned the gold the the silver the brass the bronze the the materials that were included and if you haven't done a study on solomon's temple i would challenge you to do some research on that it'll blow your mind the amount of people the amount of things that were done the details the the the specific details of it are mind-blowing you know they didn't allow hammer and chisel inside they didn't allow dust and dirt everything had to be done outside cleaned and then brought in put into place and cleaned up i mean there was just a lot of detail in that we looked at it the enormous amount of sacrifices that were made to build a place for god they were building a place where god could come and connect with humanity now we know i'm just going to re emphasize a few things here about last week we realized that david could not build it although he wanted to but his son solomon was able to build this temple and it was one of the grandest things that that had been done now we also if you'll recall last week we touched on the fact that the babylonians came in and they destroyed jerusalem they they actually came in uh if you last week we talked about in kings you can follow this and in the chronicles it's mentioned some as well that the pieces of the temple they were actually removed and they were taken out of jerusalem the the walls were knocked down the roads were tore up the water system was messed up the babylonians under king nebuchadnezzar they did a a great job of destroying jerusalem okay uh the destruction of that temple would not have been a small task agreed i mean you've got to build this at the temple in itself portions of it had three floors uh to have those cedars those huge pieces of lumber and again this is that day this is not a big crane this is done by hand with detail uh it would it would have been an incredibly difficult task also remember last week we talked how that the workers and the people that lived there the priests they all ran they were scattered the bible says they took off at that point would have been king zedekiah who was in power at that time he was overrun they captured him took him back to babylon and they punched out his eyes they killed everybody else how many knows this was a very sad day for them listen carefully after all of the sacrifice after all of the dedication that they had poured into the temple if you will to watch it just after literally one or two generations it was completely destroyed and annihilated after all that happened even though they dedicated unto the lord god their god all of the thousands and thousands yeah verily thousands of sheep and cattle and and and animals that were sacrificed just at the dedication it's sad to note that year few years later it went to naught all right to you and i today 2022 sometimes i realize that this generation that we're in they're having a difficult time brother herb of connecting bibley stuff to 2022 our modern day culture but the fact of the matter is you and i can learn a lesson from that you can do all you do dedicating yourself to the things of god sacrificing for the things of god but if you don't watch yourself the enemy can come in and destroy it if you let him amen a lesson that we can learn is the place of god god's habitation in our own lives comes with a great price i tell folk often when i'm talking to them just trying to help them through situations you got to understand something this world is not on your side they're not in your corner cheering for you to be victorious in fact the mind of the enemy simply wants to do what steal kill and destroy you that's that's his focus it doesn't matter to him that hell is in the future he already knows that in fact he already understands the fact is anybody here a revelation person you like to read revelations well there's some cool stuff in there now who owns the keys to the bottomless pit uh-huh an angel came with the key to the pit opened and loosed it closed it and sealed it you read that in there he don't even have a key to his own place now we already know when jesus ascended before that he had first descended and got what keys to what yeah i mean here we go this devil guy just he can't win for because he's lost another lesson 2022 mom and dad this would be a good one that you could teach your children watch your attitude some you know writing that down yeah because what did lucifer try to do lift himself to a position where he did not belong and in the midst of that how quick was the retaliation of god as lightning cast down done over i don't i don't have to deal with that now stay with me all the sacrifices all the commitments made all the choices all the decisions that affected so many people while they were building solomon's temple uh um have y'all noticed tonight i'm connecting to this we're gonna move a little further down the line here on dedication god has to be first in your life after all that they had done if they dropped the ball if they quit trusting in jehovah god to be their god if they stop believing in the things of god guess what happens then the enemy comes in and begins to change your mind you stop believing and trusting that god truly can do anything that he says and in doing so you will lose out if you don't put god first the enemy will take that spot now as humans we understand that there is always issues with humanity is anybody in this room tonight or anyone watching online honk your horn um have the victory over everything in your life anyone yeah fall silent for just a moment help me listen very carefully listen very carefully i don't hear any fluttering angel wings anyone some of you may think that's what it is but that's probably pizza well none of us have our wings hold on look around and see if there's any halos in here i don't care what the song says the truth of the matter is because we are flesh and blood humanity in and of itself we have uprisings and we have down settings we have days when we're living here and we have days when we're living here i mean i'm talking about come on you can you can come to church on a sunday and god bless you you speak in tongues and and just getting after it god's moving in your life you're submitted you're happy there's joy in your heart you've come to the house of god god is doing great things in your life and you can walk out the door full of god full of the holy ghost everything perfect go home do your day and just walking on cloud six because you couldn't get to nine everything's perfect and lo and behold on monday everything fall apart and nobody wants to be close to you you mean because that's part of being a human you would think that we would be able to learn and just not let those things affect us does anybody get frustrated still frustrated enough to sin some of y'all are nodding heavy some of y'all are elbowing the guy next to you why is that the case because we're still dealing with situations there's good days there's bad days there's ugly days there's not so good days if you listen carefully to pastor if you're not very diligent and vigilant on your walk with god something's going to come in and try to destroy you i'm telling you have got to be determined to put god first this 21 days of dedication this is just a few days three weeks if you will they claim it takes 21 days to make a habit it takes three days to break it so i'm hoping that through these three weeks of of trying to dedicate ourselves to the lord that that we'll find a way to develop some habits does anybody here pray at home go ahead it's okay you can identify yeah it's not a negative thing go ahead show it again wave to your neighbor come on tell them you're one of the weird ones here's the point if you pray at home then you pray at church if you pray at home and at church then you can pray on your job you realize you can stand in the line at publix and pray some of y'all might not know this but you can actually pray in traffic now the way you pray may be different the verbiage may be different but watch yourself what was it the old kid's wrong oh be careful little yeah you know my brother told me over thanksgiving we were in florida and his grandsons i don't know where he's getting those words and i went i bet i know where not sure i don't say evidently so my brother texted me the other day and said ezra came out that's my nephew great nephew wow i'm that old it just came upon me no um he said uncle raymond's a smart aleck he's five so i texted back where'd he get that i don't know well you answered awful quick i'm gonna be smart alec to you don't tell him that point is this very quickly as humans we have the ability to fail and to falter and to fall sin is still a three-letter word that can get after you and it can be the silliest things has anybody had the victory over something and you know that god has delivered you from it you've got the victory from it but lo and behold one moment one day one end of whatever boom it comes back you're like where did that come from i've caught myself times driving down the road and a smell come through the through the window of a diesel truck for an example or a song come on i hear it while sitting in a restaurant and my brain goes and i'm like what i'm joking i'm joking you can't do that outside right some of y'all like no it is okay here's the point we're human we're talking this month about dedication i spent a whole lesson last week tonight i'm going to connect to it we're going to move a little forward but if we're not careful i am certain that solomon had every every every intention of that temple to always be standing and always be the representation of who god was for the people of god but it didn't take long where it was destroyed and everything was scattered and taken away and the kings got his eyes punched out no longer no longer has anything to do now listen carefully that temple was built unto god but it was destroyed in 590 bc nebuchadnezzar ruled he dismantled every thing that they had done his attempt the reason that he destroyed it his attempt was to annihilate to do away with the people of god now have you ever heard the name nebuchadnezzar before where who daniel who else okay so we've heard of this guy before this guy that comes in has the authority and he has more power over even the people of god how can that even be now time again when you're into the chronicles kings and samuel you're noticing those books are in an order to where the kings and the judges did things you've got to connect that to the story of how it got to that place friend of mine listen carefully the bible is not just a haphazard series of words but those are things that were established you realize scientists today use the bible still as a source what's noah's ark about well it says here what was this about well it says here no they may not give it all the credibility that it deserves but it is a point of reference why because god established things and no one has ever been able to refute the word of god church hear me if that's the case who do we think we are in 2022 to think that we're going to be able to withstand all the attacks of the enemy no you better find yourself with determination and consecration and dedication daily to say lord not sure what's going to happen today but i give you this day that you've given me i'm going to determine lord not to let the enemy destroy me many of us wonder how is it possible that we should be blood-bought children of god full of the holy ghost power of god but yet something happens how is it that the enemy can come in and sit almost seemingly with with just a flick of his hand or a push or something we can be thrown off balance how is that am i the only one that wonders that i see someone that's that's on fire for god we used to call it worship the lord have a great testimony a great witness and and something happened and what happens to their witness and their testimony their desire to be in the house of god the desire to focus on the things of god it begins to to diminish and next thing you know where are they i i i know what i'm trying to stay on track it's 7 30. we got plenty of time i got till 9. um here's here's the question here's the question if if they did all the sacrificing and all the commitments they made to build that place then and the enemy come in and destroy it if we're not careful that same thing can happen when you drop your guard when you stop being diligent when you stop praying when you stop trusting god when you stop fellowshipping with the people of god when you begin listen careful when you begin to look the other way when the enemy is trying to attack and you begin to just try to hide it you got to understand something there's a reason previous generations were not in tune with god and something happened i i remember vividly the stories that my grandparents told me i've shared many of those with you uh when they were called the the the jesus only people they set up a tent and have a tent meeting anybody ever been in a tent meeting yeah tomatoes thrown at the tent eggs thrown at the tent i've often wondered brother gibson if we were to do that today 2022 a tent meeting that's just a question it's just a question and somebody drove by and threw tomatoes or eggs at our tent that we were under worshiping my mind i'm thinking of this i'm i'm i might be wrong but i'm almost sure the next thing that i would hear is gunshot half of y'all jump up grab your gun and go out we're having church in here we love jesus coming here throwing am i lying or why the only one thinks that well wow i can see it now the news cameras are going and you got 15 guys a couple of ladies tell me online come on 2022. i i play anyway you know the story wow lord help me stay on track the story of the drunk that came to the tent meeting that my grandparents were helping with because his wife was coming to the tent meetings he wasn't gonna have none of that so he gets out of his car staggers to the tent there has singing and preaching and he takes off straight down that aisle staggering walking towards the front yelling his wife's name true story pastors evangelists preaching steps off the platform into the sawdust takes about five steps forward and that guy 15 20 steps in front of him standing there worship she can't come hearing in the name of jesus and the next step he took he hit the ground speaking in tongues god took the alcohol out of him the smell was even gone now that's the that's the ground i used to sleep on under those chairs when i was a kid saw dust all up in your nose i remember standing next to my dad one song service going on he went and he shows it to me he's got a bug he smacked in here clapping thing i'm joking it's easy it's easy guys listen carefully to pastor it's easy to slip i mean i mean what is it what is the what is the admonishment in scriptures lay aside the sin that what so what easily beset you hold on to me in the midst of all of your problems in the midst of our world and our generation which we live you have got to always believe that god is still in control it doesn't matter how bad your situation doesn't matter how negative or how much has fallen apart if you ever doubt that god's in control the enemy is going to be there with more lies and try to pull you down you've always got in the good and the bad the ups and down god you're still in control what happens in our culture y'all let me be pastor for a minute is a lot of folk won't settle the fact that god is even god in the bad times they won't settle i get those questions if there is such thing as a god then why do people hurt because people are people and they hurt one another listen carefully if god were to take all that away from the world then simply what would we be we would be the same as what's in heaven but it's not that way guys you got a choice to make daily in the midst of all the things going on you have got to take a hard look at where you stand i want to look at something understanding where we were last week with the kings and the chronicles and talking about the dedication of this incredible incredible tim i went then to the end of kings and i discussed and i told you that nebuchadnezzar come in with his armies and they took all of this stuff away i want to go fast forward if you'll let me into the writings of ezra hmm ezra this is a four-letter book in your bible kind of like luke and john okay four it's old testament ezra chapter six that's where we're going to be right now verse number one says then darius the king made a decree and search was made in the house of the rolls this doesn't mean logan's restaurant some of y'all missed that one the house of the rose listen where the treasures were laid up in babylon and there was found in a chem acmetha in the palace that is in the province of the medes a role and therein was a record thus written verse three in the first year of cyrus the king of the same cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of god at jerusalem let the house be builded the place where they offered sacrifices and let the foundations thereof listen to this be strongly laid the height thereof three score cubics the breath thereof three score cubic you can continue to read there but there had been some 80 years between when darius finally became king he went in and he said i want to know where the scrolls where the scribes wrote the words of what happened in the days of old and and where they were and what happened in all of that i want to know about this temple place i want to know about this place of god and the bible says that he paid close attention to how it was done he called for a field trip we're going to go find the writings of old everybody getting the bus we're headed down to the old school where they got all this information they searched and they finally found it notice it was this place in babylon where they had brought out of first and they brought these treasures into a place to hold them for future reference hear me what is that why would you want to hold as an enemy why would you want to hold the enemies writings and rolls and scrolls and information why is that important it's the same thing we do today you study the enemy and so they say we'll keep all of this and we'll put it in here they kept flesh hooks they kept cauldrons they kept things that they used in the temple for worship they kept these pieces and they they kept them in this storehouse they finally find it and finally he says this is what we're going to do we're going to build that thing we're going to put that thing back verse number six same book ezra chapter six now therefore tottenham governor beyond the river sheath our bosnia and your companions the anybody come on fr sackites very good which are beyond trying to help y'all with their english beyond the river be far be ye far from fence let the work of this house of god alone let the governor of the jews and the elders of the jews build this house of god in his place moreover i make a decree listen to this what ye shall do to the elders of these jews for the building of this house of god that of the king's goods even of the tribute beyond the river forthwith expenses be given unto these men that they be not hindered verse nine and that which they have need of both young bullocks and rams and lambs for the burnt offerings of god of heaven wheat salt wine oil according to the appointment of the priests which are at jerusalem let it be given them day by day would it say without fail that they may offer sacrifices of sweet savers unto the god of heaven and pray for the life of the king and his sons there's a reason why this king wanted this thing built back because he realized in history that where god was there was blessings where the god of abraham isaac and jacob was there was anointing and so he said listen the tribute what is that the tax the extra money that comes in you take that money and you make sure that these guys that are building this place have what they need every day make it your job whatever they have need of you make sure that you provide it for them food what to wear what to do what to sacrifice how to sacrifice whatever they need building materials you make sure that they get it i challenge you tonight in your reading this week to go back and read ezra chapter five chapter six chapter seven read into the details of what happened all of the materials that were needed every day they brought and they re-built it believe it or not tonight we're headed somewhere ezra 6 verse 16 the children of israel the priest the levites the rest of the children of captivity kept the dedication of this house of god with joy offered at the dedication of this house of god a hundred bullocks 200 rams 400 lambs and for a sin offering for all of israel 12 he goats according to the number of the tribes of israel and they set the priests at their divisions the levites and their courses for the service of god which is at jerusalem as it is written in the book of moses church i've come tonight in this month of dedication to try to help somebody pastor i used to but i lost it pastor i used to but the enemy got it pastor i i was once dedicated but the enemy took it me to help somebody not to realize time may go by but with the right attitude and a made-up mind can go back to the altar of dedication and say lord i'm putting it back where you sing a song that said i'm going to the enemy's camp take back what he stole from me take back huh anybody that's old school take back i've often thought about that how did the enemy come get it in the first place here to tell you friend we just established a few moments ago that we are all well able to mess up drop the ball and hurt fall apart almost be destroyed but i come to tell somebody you can build it back this is a bible lesson but the holy ghost is here tonight you can once again put it back in place it all oh god help me it all depends on who you let sit on the throne of your heart darius said i see this i don't understand it but i do know this that my children and my grandchildren and the king needs a blessing therefore i need the glory of god to be present here if you'll put god back on the throne of your heart and back on the throne of your life you can one more time decide it's going to be a process there's going to be things that i'll have to do it's going to take some time of commitment and dedication but i have determined within myself i refuse to let the enemy be victor over me i will dedicate one more time i'll put it back i'll do the work i'll do what i got to do to make sure listen friend the offer oh this is so valuable the offering that they gave unto the lord it wasn't near what solomon did anybody noticed that the 12 000 it wasn't near that it was 100 of this 400 that 200 that but the coolest part of this whole thing is what the king made sure that they did there were 12 he goats that they put in the midst one for every tribe they were not just concerned about the levitical tribe but they said if we'll put back the things of god we'll make sure that every tribe and every nation has something that they can call on and the sin and their life can go away do anybody understand the purpose of the he goat that sacrificial goat the one that was brought to the temple there was a pair of them one of them would die certainly one of them would give up his life yes he would but the other would blood from the priest's hand would go upon that he goat and then they had somebody that would walk him out of the town out into the far as he could get it as far as he could make it and he would turn that goat loose so that it never returned listen carefully there's a reason that that's in the levitical law god established i will not kill your sin it will still be out there but it will be under the blood and the only thing that the guy who took that goat out what his job was was to make sure that it never came home come to tell somebody it doesn't matter it doesn't matter what life is thrown at you you can rebuild them you can put it back come on the altar can become a familiar place the altar of sacrifice can become a familiar place the dedication and consecration can still be there you can still decide i know i've messed up i know that my family this or this is going on or i've lost it here i used to have that but i know one thing i can come back to the dedicated part of god and i can say i want god to live here therefore i will establish again they dedicated solomon's temple but it was destroyed years later they come back and they build it over 5 15 they finished it and they rededicated it unto the lord god and they made sure that everybody knew this is god's house in our time of dedication these 21 days listen carefully our challenge for this hour our greatest challenge for this hour is to stay dedicated to the things of god to stay connected to the things of god listen carefully you now have a weapon that the enemy if you will that somebody that anybody has introduced into our world and current society and if you're i need somebody to hear the preacher if you're not careful you're going to pick up this weapon and you're going to begin to use it against yourself and that is simply infirmities you're going to decide within yourself i got a call for i got a sneeze or i got a fever or whatever and you're going to stay at home and you're going to hope you're going to get it through the through your computer or through your phone but i've come to tell you there is nothing like the altar of the living god where you can come pastor you say i need to come a church sick well i don't know how big is your faith i heard this just the other day it was like when i was a kid i came to church sick on purpose the first thing that mama or daddy said pastor pray i've told y'all before i've come to this podium sick not feeling well and the anointing of the lord had left here completely whole knowing that god intervened what am i telling you i'm telling you this how big is your god is he worth rebuilding and dedicating an altar to come on is it worth it or are we going to fall prey listen carefully i don't want you to be stupid about it dumb about it whatever i want you to be smart and intelligent yes but you've got to understand something the more you stay away from the presence of god the more the enemy's going to be speaking in your ear you will listen to a voice and it will neither be his or it will be the enemy i feel like in this generation there's some parents that need to show some godly faith feel like in this generation there needs to be some moms and dads that say you know what i know we're not feeling good but kids we are still going to church listen to me don't let let me finish and we're not just going to walk through the door and go in there and sit down with our cough and our hack we're going to go in there and we're going to stand in the altar and we're going to plead the blood of jesus and we're going to call on the name of the lord god some of you right now i know some of you lord help me stay behind this thing tonight some of you right now you're going to judge and say well they ought to know better i got sick because of them you don't know that you'll stay oh god help me you'll stay at home wondering why you're this or why you're that and get out the door won't go to church but you'll head to walmart okay blame somebody at walmart you know what they're gonna look at you and say oh it was that lady over there she made you sick or it was that little boy over there he made you sick come on stop licking the doorknobs at walmart listen to me i know that the generation that we live i have to be careful of this i know that in the generation where we are alive right now it is going to become very easy to become complacent and stay home and simply say i'll do church at home because it's the same no it's not if it were the same then you would eat in your bedroom every pack of crackers you've got laying in your bed but none of you do that why why won't you eat your big old handful of potato chips or crackers in the bed why you don't want the crumbs in your bed pastor that's silly no it's not come on you you need god in your time of despair and distress you don't need to write a prescription to stay away you need to write a prescription say lord i am coming to the blood i am going to believe it and dedicate it to you lord i'm going to trust you and believe in you and honor you that little fellow the other night at prayer busted his head down here at the end of the hallway whoo yeah there was there was all kind of red stuff everywhere hair and the knock on the head [name redacted] if anybody hadn't heard well now he's wearing a woody band-aid looks good if you're watching started out the door you know man he's he's he's having a fit because kids don't like bumps well some of them might i don't know but anyway kids don't like blood everywhere and head wounds they bleed right try i'm trying to help and he told me to get out i'll look you in here i said okay i'm gone not long after that i sent a text back to brother duran how's the redhead he's good and i sent him ezekiel 6 16. he said i've been quoting it said how is it well they let me put a band-aid on here let me put a butterfly on it it's the blood stopped it's closing up now you can say it's because i'm gonna tell you this it's the word of god that'll stop things it's the word of god some of y'all simply i'm telling you and by faith and by the authority of the word some of y'all simply need to speak to that infirmity speak to that thing that's trying to attack you and tell it to go tell it to be removed pastor you're saying that i shouldn't get sick i don't know man we're all flash we're human we got quit linking door knobs are you with me but when we talk about dedicating ourselves to the lord god i i just have to be honest with y'all sometimes i get tired of sister melody coming to church because i asked her how was work today she said hours backed up people trying to come in and get tested for sickness and all i was like god helpless that means people are fearful that means folk are afraid they're uncertain they don't know god has never been uncertain god has never had to go to an encyclopedia and try to find an answer god has always been god always on the throne church i'm telling you if we really believe in what the scripture says we ought to believe it a hundred percent and in the good days love him in the bad days love him when you're sick cough it out i'll still love you god why because in your dedication and consecration to the lord god he will show himself strong when solomon dedicated the temple i'm almost done it was every king in the whole surrounding area came and said we ain't ever heard of this is it okay if we come and check out what you got anybody ever heard of queen sheba she came with all these things said if you'll just let me come in i've got to ask and talk to you about something and she brought all these gifts of gold and all this stuff she brought in because she wanted to meet the guy who had wisdom and faith in his god has anybody ever read the prayer of solomon he never prayed for wisdom he asked for the ability to know how to go in and come out of the people of god because his heart was sincere lord i simply want to do what you want me to do and it was because of that attitude god said now watch and he stood and he showed himself right some of us would have missed it because we would have turned that blessing to us instead of to him stand with me please brother herb could you help me please we're in we're we're here almost halfway well yeah right at halfway over 21 days i wonder if we'll continue i i know some of us are tired some of us are sick and embodied maybe some of us are you know just just making it i get that i'm insane boat you know i get headaches i get fevers i do y'all know huh i'm pretty good at being sick my wife says i'm terrible at it but i do i do good at it i complain my bellyache i moan and groan listen carefully but if i'm not careful i will associate that sickness with god's provision and i'll forget see i might be sick for a few days or a week or whatever god's provision never stops i might be going through something in my life here god's never ever struggled so don't put your faith in this put your faith in that and when you get sick or when you have a fever or when you got a headache or whatever this is it it could be cancer it could be diseases that have no cure god is still a cure he's still the way he's still the truth i'm asking you church are you ready for this future of the church that's what dedication is about lord i i commit to you i don't want to miss it i don't want to miss it i struggled whether or not to share this with the church tonight but i think i will i received a text message today my phone somebody that i know but i don't know you know you know who they are you might be able to spot them in the room but i know their name and i've been around you know this is so and so this is how i got your number in prayer today the lord told me something for me and for you and i feel like i have to tell you get ready to live in the overflow because you feel like you have lived in the undertow and you've been thrown on the beach only to have the waves of time to pull you out and you struggle just to move forward get thrown back on the beach the undertow pull you back out but get ready to live in the overflow this guy don't really know me and i don't really know him but you know how i responded i received by faith this word both for you and me the reason i struggle just what should i share this or not is because i feel like in this hour we're waiting on the boom and the bang of god and the hoopty do and all and that's i simply want to live the overflow i want to live in the blessings of god understanding that the overflow is as close as the undertow i don't want to be down here being dragged along spitting coughing trying god i want to see the miraculous i want to see people's faith grow well i'm ready at any time to use that baptismal take again i'm ready god for stains in the altars people weep and share them their lives with you lord i know that in you all things are right i wonder tonight before you go home it's 802 is there anybody that will come to an altar lay your heart out lord i dedicate again i may have messed up or i may have not had the faith or may have wondered or may have questioned but god i'm coming to build it again come on is there somebody that'll come to an altar tonight and say oh one
