place today Lord intentional to worship you to praise and to magnify and exalt your name we came today Lord intentional to love you and to receive from you as we give you the praise and honor and Glory we have prayed together Lord we brought petitions to you with faith to believe you for it we have sung songs of Zion Lord lifting up your name corporately God believing you right now Lord we're going to your word we ask for you to continue Lord bless our hearts our ears our understanding today again Lord I make myself available to you I need you take holes from the altar touch lips of clay today Lord let us hear what says your word for this hour we love you you and we bless your name in Jesus name could you corporately give the Lord a hand clap of Praise I applaud you Lord I worship you with a hand clap today thank you Jesus thank you Jesus thank you Lord hallelujah thank you to the singers and musicians Sunday school teachers and coffee pot maker uppers and Arkin lot attenders and smilers camera crew media everybody that's involved at CAC thank you it takes all of us right doing our part Amen to Our Guest again I welcome you I'm so honored you've come today those who have joined us amen We Worship the Lord together you can be seated if you feel like you have to here we are in the cool mornings and the warm afternoons somebody say autumn you thought I was going to say fall it's y'all rhymes with fall that's the beauty of living in East Tennessee we have four distinct Seasons I like that I like winter is fast approaching and we are now looking around our yards and the hillsides and the mountains of East Tennessee and some of you are just cursing every leaf yeah my kids used to hate this time of year we had like 9,817 trees in the yard and they'd be just frustrated the lawn is going into a state of dormy you won't have to cut grass what's wrong over there somebody Revival broke out yeah huh yeah for those who don't like mowing grass this time of the year don't don't you dare fret it'll be bad I enjoy the beautiful Reds yellows Golds colors of the trees driving down some of these side roads and back roads I don't know if any you think it's snowing outside with all the leaves falling and and hitting your car and so forth I know I know it's just short time it's honestly almost almost within weeks a couple of months if you will something very remarkable is going to happen you'll see the evidence of warmer weather coming back and you'll notice that trees will begin to bloom and you'll see flowers begin to once again take over the hillsides the yards and all the replanted flowers that die in the cold weather it's called a process of Seasons look at your neighbor and say it's a season process that is certain it is going to happen I don't care how big how smart how intelligent how wealthy you are you cannot change Seasons amen the process of course it's it's not very difficult to understand if you'll simply stop and look at how things happen in the season not long ago my my wife and I decid decided after this wonderful drought that we've had our pond by the house now is like this this deep not it just flipped over now there's more dirt than water but it's okay not my pond so we air had our yard air anybody know what that means yeah that's where they sound an alarm and airplanes fly over okay that's not what it means where they drag this big thing around they go and it punches holes in the yard and then they throw grass seed over it and it's supposed to fall down in the little holes and your hopes is if you'll wet the snot out of it in a few months or days it'll it'll grow I'm out there with the measuring tool okay we're good I got to keep watering because the rain's certainly not taking care of it but I'm learning a little more about germination that just sounds terrible the seed has to germinate this challenge for this week is use that word somewhere just just use it you're at the job and you're doing what you do my a lot of germination going on out there and watch everybody look at you CU it's for sure it doesn't fit in everyday conversation but the fun thing about germination is that it happens because it's the nature listen to Pastor man it happens because it's the nature of the seed you do not have to wake up in the wee hours of the morning go and shake each of the seeds and say you need to get up now and begin to to grow you don't have to do that it simply does an example in in this cooler weather who tells the leaves to turn loose whose job is that who inspects the leaf and says okay you're at a point now you can go oh hold on a few more days because the truth is and I I'm it might be sounding very simple and basic but the god of creation that put all of that together is the same God that you've been worshiping today and so it would only make sense that and the beauty and the Splendor of all the the changing of a season that we understand that in order to get the red Reds and the yellows and the golds and and those colors of Autumn and those colors that we all enjoy for that short span of time then then we have to understand that God put all of that into its place now I will tell you that I am not a gardener I don't mind plants I like plants my wife is the gardener person thingy lady stuff and this church was so kind a few weeks ago in pastor's appreciation to give us a plant I knew exactly that was not for me m I knew now guess what we have a whole plan for that plant honey this is what we're going to do I can't wait to hear it we're going to go dig up everything out there and put that plant right there then put everything back I think I'm gone that day couple years ago we decided to plant hydrangeas in our yard do any anybody else have snowball bushes it's what my dad my grandpa called them snowball bushes I don't know why so we went and bought these hydrangeas you know yay big and we brought them and I planted them as I was instru or as I read on the instruction card and I thought for sure sister Renee they'd be white hydrangeas well this would be cool white snowball bushes it's like my grandmother had when I was growing up but these plants came up and the flowers bloom Josh and two of them were bluish purple and one was a reddish blue purple and I stood there and I scolded those plants you're not at all supposed to be that why did you supposed to be this and you're not that at all what did you do wrong so then of course I'm like most modern Farmers Google and guess what it said it depends on the nutrients in the soil it depends on oh y'all are nodding cuz y'all got stuck in the same thing y'all know see you thought you were smart I know how to use Google too and it all depends on the nutrients it all depends on the soil and what it has and what it offers and the the fact remains this is that I canot control the outcome of what color comes out of that hydrangea unless I change the soil and the fact of the matter is I'm not interested because I noticed brother Mike that the purplish blue one was just as pretty as the white and as far as I'm concerned that's what I wanted you may know what I'm talking about come on your husbands are going Lord grant it Lord granted yeah yeah one time we planted bulbs somebody gave us I'm sorry I'm in the South bubs and a man we had no idea what the bulbs were they were we bought a tree and these bulbs came in it and I said okay good put it there and my lovely wife saids baby what kind of I don't know and they started growing and I thought I think it's a weed don't you touch that weed it's the Tulip Don they started growing and I didn't touch them I was afraid to and this thing come up and it was a whitish yellow and I thought I did that yall hang on to Pastor a minute I I put that there no I did not I simply put it in the ground and the bulb did did what it does because of where it was I don't want to upset the color wheel I don't want to force it to be something else there you can plant trees in your yard you can plant flowers in your garden you you can do what you do and the fact of the matter is all the shades all the colors all the types of plants that you plant you and I as humans we have very little to say about how it happens because you didn't do it now you might put the the nutrients you may get a bag of or what what I found was Miracle Grow Works real good you take a cup of it you drop it in a five gallon bucket of old paint I mean you clean out the paint first and then you put water in and I walk around the yard with this thing and on these plants and my wife sees me so I get points come on man you talking about and if it comes up the right color and the right way guess what I did it good I did it right the Google search took me to a place when I I figured out all kind of stuff about plants that I didn't even want to know didn't even know that I needed to know it's funny how you and I can learn and grow as humans there's there's several similarities I I do think that you all understand that you are a product of where you're planted right and is that is that simple enough it's it's interesting that if if you put good stuff in you'll get good stuff out wait wait ready for it if you put bad stuff in you'll get wow funny how that works in your action your attitude hey here's something I want to I want to help the families today that are in here y'all listening Mom and Dad if I want to know what's going on in your house and how healthy your marriage is and how happy your home is I won't ask you I will ask one of your children the greatest thing you know years ago I was youth pastor at a church and we'd go to youth camp or youth convention or whatever and I'd be the van driver upper because I was good at driving and one year particular there was two vans that went to place that I was youth pastor and I got to drive the one van with all the girls another guy drove all the van with all the boys I didn't say two words from Murphysboro to Gatlinburg where we were having the retreat but I learned so much I'm just driving down the road and all brother gies all these girls in the back this sorry I got to explain what's going on some of these kids don't understand talking they didn't do this they actually interacted I just got in trouble didn't I Kevin come get me if I get too far out there it went but I learned all kind of cool stuff I didn't know brother so and so had that issue I I didn't even have to say tell me more one of the other girls spoke up and say huh you may tell me and I got so much fodder for I'm gonna preach that next week and can you turn the radio on no I can't hear come on the Expressions that your children give live the way they interact with others I see that because of where they're planted come on I I see how it's happening in their lives because they've received something some of y'all are so nervous right now some of y'all are so scared oh what's my child said to the pastor your kids can reveal so much why CU that's where they're planted I know I know that that that we are not botanist and I realize that we don't all have a master's degree on plant I know that I'm really not sure that I care how a bell pepper becomes a true bell pepper I really now I do care if it becomes a ghost pepper then I get nervous but anyway the ability to look around our world and to find out how things work and operate I think that's probably in all of us we want to understand we want to comprehend but there is a mystery to explore with both the Plant World and humans I've come to understand the world around us takes a whole lot to keep running it takes a whole bunch of influence and input to keep moving I've also learned that everything has to grow has to evolve has to reproduce has to one more time go back into itself and has to continue to work Seasons come Seasons go only to provide perfect conditions for success for the seed to survive listen to me carefully it is nature itself that says you're a tomato it is nature itself it is innate in that you're a plum the hybrid stuff kind of concerns me when somebody says I've mixed a green bean with a carrot everybody's mind you're like well that'd be odd you know your snap the beans you used to break when you was a kid sitting at the house on granny Granny's house on Sunday snap beans string beans you got to pull the imagine that with a carrot be that big listen to me if you start messing with that stuff and you make adjustments to the soil the surroundings the fact is as you and I probably will make a great mess of it because we don't know what we're doing listen how the wise guy said it this dude's name is Solomon smart guy there's a script there's a series of verses in the Old Testament called Ecclesiastes every say Ecclesiastes come on look at your neighb and say huh yeah Ecclesiastes 3 verse1 to every thing there's a season time to every purpose under the heaven a time to be born a time to die a time to plant time to pluck up that which was planted you can continue I won't read it today I'm sure most of you have but the fact is that you can continue down the verses and what we learn is an encouraging word and that simply is this that all things things have a shelf life all situations you're going through all the things in life have a way to begin and a way to survive and then a way to end doesn't matter if it's a week a you know I was excited when I found out that flies don't live forever that was a thrill to me oh that's a story for another day what one I wonder about is how long do mosquitoes live that one I I wish I knew anyway when we understand things about life and death then we understand that it is indeed the God of all of creation that established the why the what for the how and the how come that things around us happen in all the natural situations in our world around us you can see also a spiritual side of those things how how power works if you will how daily living and and knowing that God is is in your life we know that that much of the New Testament was written simply for the churches much of the New Testament was a just encouragement Direction and and guidance letters for the churches churches were new they were starting to grow whole communities were springing up the Holy Ghost was moving come on for those of you that are Bible scholars you recognize that the letters were addressed to churches Philippi thessalonia these places had works and writers would write to them stay stay with me a moment all for the sear fact to say You by Nature were walking in idolatry by Nature because it was what you were shown it's how you were planted you were living for this God or you were serving that Idol you or you were you were sacrificing your children on an altar you were doing things that that that nature the things that you were plugged into that you were taught to do but when you come in the presence of Jesus and your life has changed and and you begin to look at things different the spirit of God awakens the spirit spiritual man and as you experience the power of God you've got to then learn to change the soil in which you're planted come on if if you're full of the Holy Ghost God's working in your life you don't want to find yourself in a position that you continuously still receive the negative the down the bad the dirty and the gross you want to connect yourself to something that's alive something that's good something that's Pleasant something that encourages you why because your nature will change I I realize today with the help of the Lord that when we come face to face with the love and the power of Jesus Christ then you have to make a decision you're going to yield to it follow it and go after what Jesus is telling you that's how the church has beg the book of Acts you can go in the book of Acts and you can begin at verse one and you find how that the writer was writing a historical account this is what the former treaties there was words there was and you go through that there's instruction there but but then you see the Ascension of Jesus and he says you're going to get power and when you get power life's going to change things are going to alter in your life and you're going to be a witness because of your experience with the power of your changed nature and in that we understand that Jesus then he would instruct them and in the book of Acts we notice that these these followers of Christ they were at a prayer meeting they were gathered together in an upper room you can read the story but they had something in their mind and something in their spirit and after days of spending time with each other and spending time we don't know none of us were alive in that room that day but one thing we can say is that something happened at the moment that nature changed in their lives why how do we know that because the entire city of Jerusalem begin to say what are these guys doing I hear this noise coming from the street corner I'm not sure what it is I I think they're drunk I think they're and all of this confusion and questions listen to it the Bible does not say they ran away from it but the Bible says they came running to it what meanthe what is going on up there and we we see how the 12 were standing there full of the Holy Ghost now their nature had been changed and these guys aren't drunk as you suppose it look what the time is I don't know let me let me change what should be natural but let me show you something this is that that was prophesied by the prophet Joel and what you are seeing here is an a change and a 180 degree reversal in the lives and the hearts of people listen God did not do that for them hang with me and then isolate them and put them in a box and say sit there till I come get you no but then you leave the book of Acts and you'll know there's a letter written to Rome there's a letter written to Corinth there's a letter written to these churches and these bodies of believer why because the preacher was telling them you better make it right you better make it right you better make it right you better plug into the things of God I've come to encourage you in the spirit they would say I've come to teach and instruct you the ways of God the scripture says and we find out these churches Spring up everywhere things are different things are exposed Paul wrote letters to these churches anybody ever read one of Paul's letters man Paul didn't hold back nothing I come I beseech you I'm begging you I'm be you better hang in you better change what you're doing you better make sure that you take care of the widows and orphans you better make sure that when you assemble yourself together that you know why you're doing it and he would talk to them about how they acted how they spoke what they did where they went how they interacted with each others why because there was a lesson to learn when you change nature you better make sure you understand who is teaching that nature to you listen they gathered in homes they gathered on street corners they assembled in places in rooms both high and low people were hungry for something that had substance and power the term came together and they were first called Christians at Antioch why because there was a note that was taken these guys are acting like Jesus acted these guys have a nature that doesn't look like this nature but instead it looks like something that Jesus would do folk acted like Jesus would what's that mean exactly that means when they got up out of bed they weren't concerned about the hangover from the night before but instead they started their day this is the day the Lord has made I I'm going to rejoice and be glad they started their day saying I may not have it all together and I might not know what tomorrow brings but one thing I know is this my God is in control and he's on my side I come to declare to somebody today if you'll look at the nature of the beginning of the church H it is still present in this place right now there's a reason you've come to lift your hands there's a reason you've come to look like a fool for Jesus come on somebody I'm not ashamed of this gospel I know what it's done for me and I know my nature has changed because of what he's done for me uh I cannot get you to heaven I cannot drag you to heaven I can't load your carcass on a c and get it there but I can pray with you as the spirit of God begins to move uh I can watch you speak in tongues as the Holy Ghost comes and I can see your nature change and a smile come on your face your countenance take on a new look and you begin to say you know what I don't know what happened but I like it for those of you concerned about what the world thinks stop worrying about that I'm Lord help me stay on track look around you today go ahead turn your left and right that's why it works on a swivel look around would you wear what they are wearing some y like I told him that tie didn't match so some of you men are in such trouble right now you better not say nothing trying to help you trist I'm trying to help you buddy give me out of trouble huh I might ask this a side question you don't have to answer you don't have to think about it if you want but it's food for thought the Lord Jesus walked in that back door right now and came up here and took a seat on this front row how would he act it's just a question he's the only oh God help me not get sidetracked he's the only one of us that could come in here and say I worship me some of us have that problem in here today I worship me folk acted like GE they were called listen to this listen John chapter 20 look how he says it Matthew Mark Luke John fourth fourth one of your new testament Matthew Mark Luke John 20 and 30 and many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples which are not written in this book 31 but these are written that you might believe that Jesus is the Christ the son of God and that believing you might have life through his his name what do you mean what do you mean we don't have all the writings no the book won't hold it the Earth couldn't hold it if I were to to give you a microphone and I I were to give you oh Lord I would to give you a cell phone with a large Sim chip in it with memory okay let's go there and I simply ask you to note every good and great thing that God did in your life for a week everybody in here if you really took it to heart by about the third or fourth day you'd run out of space and your little phone would beep and say no more room no more space CU I don't mind telling you on a Monday night prayer in the sanctuary some of y'all come in here some of us Gather in here and we begin to pray and long about 10 15 minutes into it we're kind of out and we just kind of drift away and we've stopped saying everything as many times as we say I'm not getting on to you I'm simply saying it's it's just what we people do and long about 30 minutes in you got there's worshiping Lord with an open mouth yeah we we took that scripture open your mouth he'll draw flies to you yeah you just you just just go here here's the fact of the matter though if you really stopped and set your phone down and just simp if you want to put it on record and you got all the distractions and junk of the world off your mind you could start that that particular moment Lord I thank you I thank you for the ability to Blink I thank you for the ability to see through the eyeballs I have I thank you Lord that my heart beats I thank you my lungs expand and I thank you Lord that my skin grow come on and you start down the list of every detail it would fill up page after page why because you cannot give him enough thanks for all the things he has done for you but one thing I do know is this there are things that are not written about why because he didn't wants you to have a list of things that you had to compare it to to make sure that it was him but if you'll simply settle it in your life you know what without God I'm nothing but with him anything is possible then you could wrap everything and all things around that understanding I have my living my dwelling who I am because of you in you God I live but the fact Still Remains that in you dwells all the fullness of the godhead bodily it is not about me it's all about you and as you begin to think listen you're changing your nature you are changing the way you pray the way you think what used to be important on your job all of a sudden begins to change and now you begin to pull back the curtain on your office and say is the sky parting yet some of y'all listening to things you're not well then you change and say is that the sound of a trumpet why because you recognize and realize as the old timers used to sing this world is not my home I'm just passing through through anybody know this my treasures are laid up hold on hold on oh no no no no no my grandma be so mad right now she like that ain't how you sing that song Oh that ain't how you do come on Old that's not at all how that song goes my little 4 foot4 granny come on Tam you remember her right she this world is not my home I'm just passing through my treasures you know why cuz with her little bit of Education she had and with that little bit of money that came in every week and with that little bit of stuff in that little humble house she lived in she recognized this ain't where I'm staying anyway it don't matter nothing to me now anyhow why cuz my Nature's changed I'm not about to Simply world is not my home no I'm going to get up and declare it I'm just passing through my Treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue the spirit beckons me uh from Heaven's open door and I can't feel at home in this world anymore oh Lord you know I have no friend like you uh If Heaven were not my home then Lord what would I do come on somebody you recognize your Nature has changed and God Made A Difference In You you can't write about that stuff it is what God did in your life Jesus demonstrated the things that he could do and would do for those who would follow him that can't be written about it's your life as it unfolds your nature changes but as we sit here today in this place I watch the clock we're good we are all examples of what God can do elbow your name or say God did it God did it God did it we're each one getting closer and closer to the way that Jesus wants us to be listen carefully draw your words to what another author in the New Testament wrote about us his name was Peter he wrote a letter second Peter 3 17 ye therefore beloved seeing you know these things before beware lest she also being led away that the air of the wicked fall from your own steadfastness Verse 18 he simply says this but grow in Grace the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to whom be glory both now forever would you say it with me amen grow in Grace as you grow process works and and you understand that in and of yourself the nutrients the sunshine the water the seasons and all the stuff that happens it's not because of you it's because God's working in you grow in Grace I I have in in my library in my office at home I have a bunch of bunch of Bibles anybody got more than one Bible good thank you and I do I have an iPad it's got 200 some odd versions that I don't read my Chinese is horrible and the new testament's all greet to me and dra on that was for you Bo the New Testament written in Greek okay but one one of the Bibles that I use pretty much every week is called uh the Bible and it's got the the meaning of the words as they were given and so it it'll start you know then it'll give what what the word that should have been is bolded then you go to the the back of it and it's a you see and read it and so I'm pull out that Bible and then I have one that's called the Jewish Bible and it's it's from the original they took and translated it into English and you read normal as opposed to the other way okay but grow in charism it says and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ it doesn't say grow in Grace Hold On To Me it says to grow in C charism it's the root would be for Charisma charismatic so you go for you Bible scholars I'll ask go ahead start joining their don't not right now not right now this church the here's the understanding of it from the translated word grow in charism grow in the understanding of what has been imputed to you grow in Grace was the translation to say when you follow God he puts something in you and there's a seed that is planted there and what Peter was admonishing them was to grow in Charisma grow in a way that God is leading you when you understand that and your life begins to take on new listen to me if you're simply waiting on the grace of God to save you you better back up and recognize what that word actually means listen to Pastor man I'm gonna help you it don't mean you can go live like the devil and let Grace take over what it means is this I am changed I am new I'm done over my Nature's changed and the charism that is put in me is the knowledge and understanding of who he is to me and what he's done in my life uh I'm not bound by sin I'm not bound by the habits My Flesh was taking me down but instead uh I'm a new creature in Christ uh I walk different I talk different I look different I act different I dress different I do things different I don't care about what you say I'm looking for the one that loves me the most whose report do I believe ain't no doctor can tell me that God can't heal uh I've already decided uh if Jesus has a plan for my life there no devil in hell going to come in and stop the plan of God why cuz I'm growing uh in the nurture I'm growing in the admonition I'm growing in the knowledge that God has done a work in my life uh I'm not bound to this world grow in Grace so I begin to look at this and I trying to understand what Peter was telling if you got time you read that Second Epistle read that second letter Peter wrote there's so much stuff in it oh Pete didn't play stop doing what you're doing be not dumb I'll use a Bible word be you not ignorant he said I would not have the ignorant well there you go you can't use it in that context sorry I just using a Bible word listen to me there's a reason friend oh Lord help me today there is a reason that our world is in such chaos because people are growing in anger bitterness Strife worry anxiety heartache suffering they are growing and they are planted in their life to where everything around them is negative drawing and pulling at them and taking life right out of them is it any wonder that the hospitals are full and that the the drug addiction centers are full isn't it any wonder that our children are being bombarded with the stuff that the world is throwing at them trying to change them is it any wonder that Hollywood on purpose is putting out material and thing come on this last week man my heart broke when I heard that they went off strike be mad if you want to I know people make their living at that but listen to me I am oh God help me Lord stay on track Brother Don come on give him some false hope I am convinced that if people would stop listening to the junk and how they're presenting it to you that your life would be changed oh come on I wish somebody had the audacity to start a news channel that simply says 98- year old Grandma of this prayed through to the Holy Ghost last week she got 14 grandchildren 99 great grandchildren and as she began to shout and worship in the church people begin to lift their hands there was miracles signs and wonders that happened you don't hear nobody giv that instance come on I wish there was a news channel that would simply say here I stand today at Cornerstone Apostolic Church I'm sorry Cornerstone apoptic Church here in Chattanooga Tennessee not really sure how to say that word but I'm standing here today and there's Fire coming out the door I don't even know the firemen have showed up we're not even sure what's happening all we know is that something taking place are these men drunk as you suppose they're not they're full of the Holy Ghost why cuz they're now growing in Grace the knowledge the understanding that I am bought with the price I'm Holy Ghost filled Apostolic and I'm not ashamed of it you can walk yourself into any congregation and you can stand flat in an altar and whatever they teach does not have to bother you if you truly understand I know Jesus and he knows me oh what would it be like instead of having all the sin the junk the nudity the profanity the drugs and all the stuff hey what if it were the I'm working on a message brother Vandy just for you Hallmark for Jesus huh you know that Hallmark Channel's got the snow globe this in't every movie they do camera backs out and there's a snow glob see there that's the same snow glob was in that last one grow in Grace grow in the charism grow because he has ued you with a power in the day and age in which we live hear me and I'm coming to A close Peter writes to them and he's writing to you and I today he admonished them to constantly move forward and to thrive in the spirit Peter writes to them and he informs them that only the power of God can change your life and make you new grow with what God has put in you some of you today you've only known the Jesus for a short time some of you have only recently met him some of you have lived if you will for the Lord for a million eight years I don't know some of you have known the Lord Fallen flat of your face and for some reason the knowledge that you had brought you back the grace God brought you back you knew I'm convinced that's how prodical got back brother Rob is Grace hang on the knowledge of who was came to himself man I smell my dad's house I never smelled L knowledge overwhelms him and he says if I can just go see Dad and I can put I can plant myself there as a servant the nutrient will be what I need to grow again wasn't the boy who came oh don't let me get S it wasn't the boy who came back said Dad I need my position again it was the father who said get the ring get the robe get the calf why because the dad knew how that boy grew the boy had already demonstrated he could be a servant he was feeding pigs today in this place I simply want to encourage you grow grow in what God is doing in your life don't try to overshadow it and overwhelm it don't
