would you pray with me Lord today we gather one more time in this place we are hungry Lord we are thirsty for you Jesus we need you Lord we trust you today your spirit is real Lord your joy is real Lord God your power and presence can do anything Jesus Lord once again I'll make myself available to you lord I desperately need you hungry hearts Lord in this room thirsty souls Lord in this house we are looking for you how adorable Shonda you lead us today somebody say in Jesus name Jesus name thank you singers musicians thank you so much to all of our Sunday School teachers children's workers everybody involved in the kingdom amen thank you so much the Lord the Lord bless you again to all of our guests I welcome you to Cornerstone glad you're here you can be seated if you feel like you need to know Jesus we love you today anybody here live in a place I was kind of a broad statement y'all thought I was gonna get more specifics right nobody lives in a place Alex thank you for living in a place a house an apartment anybody drive a car anybody ride in a car he may know what a car is go to school eat at a restaurant you know the best place to get a haircut you know what it would take to function and the bank line you've got family that's around you you got friends that are close to you I don't know about you but I am very very very much more comfortable when I'm in familiar surroundings let me know what I'm talking about anybody understand where I'm coming from some of the kids for an example you just started school if you just started school would you raise your hand up come on cama don't be embarrassed we were all there one day we're gonna pray for your heart yeah if you started school I would dare say that you may have somebody in your class that is a new student you got any of those you don't know them may-maybe you're the new student you don't know anybody around you MA you may know I'm talking about I remember the great days when I transitioned from seventh grade to eighth grade and from eighth grade to ninth grade and then school that's all we had when I was growing rice not true it was really strange at our school growing up I don't know how we had to go both ways uphill in the snow I didn't never did it was like I don't know anyway for the young kids don't get that when all of us older folks like yeah that's what granddaddy used to say maybe you started a new job and you're the new kid on the block anybody understand I'm talking about you start out at this place of beginning and it's it's maybe strange I remember starting a job one time I didn't know where the restroom was didn't know all day long I'm like wow this is not gonna be good and then I found out at the end of the day oh by the way there's the restroom if you need it you start out in that particular situation you don't want to be the weird guy at the new job or the the troublemaker in the new class or whatever so you just act like you got sense make note to self don't drink coffee all day cuz you know what the restroom is until you begin to figure out where you are right then it makes it easier makes it a little easier when you get to when you meet somebody you're not really sure about them and their background or where they're from it's a little bit apprehensive at first and you kind of standoffish and then you begin to become a little more familiar and things begin to happen and you kind of let down the guard and you make friends with them it's all part of the makeup of humanity because we as humans enjoy the familiar we it's part of how we're made up it's it's how you have learned to to bring defensive measures or let them down it's how you've learned to move forward or stay back it's the it's what causes you to survive in day to day living you don't really need to know all of the specifics or all of the details about somebody or about the place that they come from but the more you understand them the more comfortable you become being around them how many truly enjoy being out of control not not a whole lot of us right so in a familiar setting you feel like you can at least have options in your life I can recall in my particular life that there have been times that I felt like a stranger let me know what a stranger is I'm not insane strange in here us you know what a stranger is there's some strange people in here but anyway a stranger a stranger it's because you don't really know your surroundings you don't really understand where you are I remember 1997 probably before a few of you were born we felt a call to go to the mission Phil God had been dealing with us for a long time and and we sold our possessions my wife and I gathered up the three year old the one year old we loaded on a plane with anything and everything we thought we'd need for a year and we go on they closed the doors we take off and 46,000 hours later we land in La Paz Bolivia it's 13,000 feet above sea level the doors of the plane opened they don't pull up to the terminal they didn't back then you had to walk across the tarmac to get to the terminal and brother Duran I don't mind telling you when I got on the plane in Miami at sea level I was good to go but when I climbed off of that plane at 13,000 feet and I'm towing two kids and I've got 17 pieces of luggage because then you could check back you know put baggage under the plane and then on the plane and you get to sit on set four suitcases I'm going across the tarmac with all this stuff and I'm no longer 30 years old I'm now little son 92 and I'm he somebody standing there said hey if you drop something let it go I said why because if you bend over to pick it up you're going to the ground that's really weird isn't it found that to be true why what's happened what a strange surrounding and it got on the plane in Miami I could understand I ate the food I knew about an hours later our D plane in La Paz Bolivia and there's an odor that I'll never forget there are people everywhere I've come to tell somebody who hasn't figured it out yet I was a stranger I looked at them weird but there was more of them than me they looked at me but they were in unison looking at me I was the outsider I was the one who didn't understand I can bring it closer to home if you want when we moved to this great city of Chattanooga thankful for it but I knew two roads to go on I could get off the interstate and I could go to that restaurant or I could go to that place to live I knew where that was and I knew where that was if somebody asked me another question or about some other place guess what I'd say I'm not from around here I don't know things I'm not really sure I remember we got lost just the other day now we got lost in and you try to find your way you may just show up on a road wait this whole time I've been driving seven miles that way and take a left all I had to do is turn right in the first and uh I know we're apostolic and we need to understand directions you want to know how to get where or what you're gonna want to do is go down there to the Hardee's and u-turn right there you're gonna go up three block you're gonna see Bojangles all right yeah when you pass the Bojangles don't turn there just keep going they got cookies on sale this weekend and everything's got a restaurant yeah you go there they turn left there at Cheddar's yeah go around that parking lot you park over there by but that that's the one yeah the McCallister's and when you get everything's banked on what it's what it is it's how we give direction I remember trying to find a place to get a simple haircut man I didn't know who where to go you can't just go everywhere men and get a haircut you can't go on and frou-frou shops you know where you got to sit there and they put all this stuff and all you got to go somewhere without they spit on the floor you know and conversations about tractors and cars y'all don't even know I'm talking about do you yeah fact of the matter we moved to this city and we were strangers didn't know our way around the kids went to school wow that was a whole nother story how do we get our kids in school we don't even know where the schools are when we get to the school which is the best which is the worst does anybody understand about being a stranger you comprehend it because when you're a stranger you haven't learned yet your way around you haven't learned the details and the intricacies of how this works or how that functions or what that is or where that is it's an uncomfortable place to be it's you're not settled you don't have roots there's no history in that place to speak of and so therefore it's strange and it's odd and it's even out of out of whack if you will and what strangers simply do is they try to find their way around until what they're no longer strangers we realize that in all things in life that there is order to it and it makes sense and therefore you're able to live and you're able to do let me ask you a question the cereal that you ate this morning before you came to church what ingredients were in that box besides riboflavin but I'd only know what that is herb but it's on the box right anybody in Romania may know I had a biscuit maybe this morning or chicken sandwich well I might have been in control of that chicken sandwich coming out of the microwave but I don't know whose hands touched it before it went in there so I'm y'all gonna be grossed out aren't you people ask me all the time why are you praying at a restaurant how you bless your food man I don't know who's in that kitchen I don't know who's bringing that food out they may be all God you know who they are Lord be now what I need on this plate I've had Salim Miller poisoning food poisoning ain't no fun at all is it anybody I'm talking about Oh some of y'all old church just happened yeah you got to understand there are things that are strange in life some things you trust you just kind of take them for granted and then there's other things that you have to study you got to research you got to kind of wrap your mind around it you got to kind of get a hold of what it's about how it functions how what it looks like and so forth let me give you a little bit of history if you'll allow me today there was a guy whose name was Tara that was his it was his name it was a great name and and there's not a whole lot that we know about him but we do understand that that this this guy had a mom and a dad we do understand that that this guy had a family and his place in the world in which he lived and although that we know very little about this man Tara we understand that he plays a very powerful and intricate part of our lives of the lives around us who is this guy well there was a place in the old country that was full of riches and wealth it was a land that had well watered gardens it was lush with greenery and flowers and vegetables and such there was gold and there were precious stones and there were rich lands to be had there in this particular land and this guy fed this guy's family lived in this place whenever he wanted he had whatever food he wanted at that time it was there he was part of a bloodline a lineage a family if you will that was very well established in fact this guy's greatest of greatest of grandfather's was one of the ones that survived the flood this guy was in the lineage of Shem the son of Noah he was ninth generation removed from the flood and in the midst of the land of the chaldeans there was wealth and there was riches yet Hera according to Bible history says that he left the familiar and he went to a place that God began to speak to him about he took with him one of his sons whose name was Abram stay with me somebody in the book of Genesis chapter number 12 we read this in verse 1 now the Lord had said to Abram get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred and from thy father's house unto a land that I will show thee God had spoken to Noah concerning the flood to come and he said you build the Ark and you get into it that's the plan of God Abram also heard a voice from heaven it was told that there is time right now for you to get up and move and with his nephew with his father they began to trek across the country they were known as strangers in a strange land unknown places unfamiliar people language that was different and strange food that was beyond the normal a place where God was leading Abram and that God had a place in mind the entire time but what had to happen in the heart and in the mind of Abram is that he had to understand but God that's speaking to me is bigger than anything in my past or anything I can imagine in my future there's only one thing that Abram could understand the place in which I am walking now is a strange place I'm a stranger in this land I don't understand why I am here I don't comprehend everything about their customs our courtesies but there's one thing that I am sure of according to the riders of history you and I can understand that when the god of glory had a plan in mind he will establish with you you're gonna have to get out of what you have of what you possess of where you are and you're gonna have to become a stranger in a different place why because if you ever become familiar with your surroundings you will forget there is something better out there in fact let me tell you how this is written there was an author who wrote a letter to the Hebrews and in that letter chapter number 11 the translators put it verse number 8 says this by faith Abraham every say Abraham when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance obeyed and he went out not knowing whether he went by faith he sojourned in the land of promise as in a strange country dwelling in Tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob the heirs with him by the same promise for he looked for a city which hath foundations whose builder and maker is God it is it is spoken here about this man Abraham now that he was called a stranger but by faith he followed the voice of God by faith he received what God had promised him by faith he decided I don't know what's happening I don't realize where I'm going but one thing I know all I have is by faith I got the voice of God therefore I am willing to become a stranger in a land that I know nothing about a stranger looking for a place a stranger trying to find where he belongs now hear me what I preach today please we understand the possibilities of the unknown also brings the possibilities of the unimaginable could you imagine what Abram would have thought if for a moment he would have even considered one day I'll be called the father of all of the nations one day my seed will be multiplied as the stars of the heaven one day it'll be as if sand on a seashore that my seed will be do you think for one moment that Abram thought that no he was a stranger could I bring it closer to home for you today we understand the possibilities that come in my mind now this may not mean a whole lot to some of you but I declare today because of the way my brain operates and functions and and mis functions and misfires sometimes that there are things that transpired even in our lifetimes that are so incredibly amazing if you will allow me one moment right now this is one small step for man one giant leap for mankind does that ring a bell with anybody here go ahead you could say his name Oh Cogan know ho that was Neil Armstrong he's the guy who landed on the moon it's the guy that got out of the craft and as he stood on the bottom step of that lunar landing he stood there I read a little history of why with this guy with once listen to me carefully in the history of mankind we had no other writings about landing on another place and stepping on to the surface of it not realizing and understanding the greatness and the incredible miss of this feat I did a little research and I said why would a man stand on the steps about to take that last step on the Sun never before never done before never experienced before and according to the historians now understand here Armstrong's no longer with us but they they talk to his family members as it turns out his brother was handed a note the day B'nai before he let his loft and he'll head it off to get ready for this flight that he handed him a note he said I want you to read this tell me what you think and as he began to read he said where is this come from he said you got to understand something wrong I'm about to embark on something I will be a stranger in a strange place never before seen by man's eye but I've gotta believe that if I'll take one step it's gonna turn the step of every man from this point forward how can it be that because when Neil Armstrong stepped onto the moon it was indeed a 13-inch step from that step to the ground but friend of mine we are here today because of all of what NASA if you will what the scientists have explored and all of the possibilities beyond the stores out there you and I are recipients of somebody saying I'm a stranger but yet I believe I can change things as we sit here today in this room there is something that connects you and connects me to the one beside you and the one beside me and that is simply this look at your neighbor look him in the eye if they'll let you and say we are strangers don't tell them you are strange tell them we come on we are strangers you ever wonder why in the world that it seems like in this hour in 2019 then it appears to many of us that we have lost our minds as a human race you ever wonder why it appears in our generation in our culture in which we live that seemed things seem to appear like they're so way out of control and they're so passed beyond common sense can anybody wrap your mind around why somebody would walk into a crowded room with a pistol or a gun and begin to shoot somebody why is it that somebody would stand and declare if you want to kill a baby even after it's born you can do so and I don't care anything about it anybody in this place ever wonder why the world in which we are living appears to have lost their ever-loving mind I'll tell you why it's because we're strangers in a land we are strangers in a place I've come to preach to somebody this afternoon you need to understand friend if you're too comfortable in this world you'll never be looking for a place called heaven if you're too established in this place you're gonna not wonder what will it be like Oh sheets of gold I've come to tell somebody we are strangers in a strange land why because the Builder and maker of the place that we're looking for is the Lord God Almighty Peter the one who spoke the words on the day of the outpouring 1st Peter chapter 1 verse number one listen to what he wrote Peter an apostle of Jesus Christ to the strangers scattered about throughout Pontus Galatia Cappadocia Asia by senior elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father through sanctification of the Spirit I'm to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ grace unto you peace be multiplied he spoke to them and he said your strangers are scattered all over the place why is it that he called them strangers it's because they understood if you'll allow me for one moment we call them in our great nation pilgrims it's people that set out on a journey not really sure what its gonna be like on the other side but they're looking for a place Sojourner 'he's on a mission not of the place in which they are they're looking for another place in search of another world if you will and Peter looked at him in this letter and in his mind's eye as he penned it notice 1st Peter 1 and 3 blessed be the God the Father our Lord Jesus Christ which according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away reserved in heaven for you who are kept by the power of God through faith I'm the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time I'm telling somebody today that we're on a journey and we're headed to a place we might be strangers here but there's a place that's coming and I'm not at all gonna be strange with I'm gonna realize there are streets of gold there there are gates of pearl there there is water there is what the walls of Jasper there are all kind of stones and precious things and most of all he'll be there you're not building your mansion in heaven your eyes and your plan would sell it so short but there is a home coming there is a place eternal in the presence of the one who died each of us we might be strangers here on planet earth and I don't mind telling you daily I I feel it more and more man this place seems so strange I thought I knew how humans were I thought I understood how humans thought but the fact of the matter is I don't but what I do understand more and more clearly every day that I live every day that I look at the word every moment that I pray and talk to God is that the heavenlies or appearing to be a little more like what I'm looking for then here on planet Earth hey I don't know what it's like to live in a mansion that is built on the sheets of glory but one thing I know is if it's in the Word of God I'm a stranger in this world but I'm looking for a city I'm looking for a place where he has prepared it for me I'm more and more hungry for the Word of God I'm more and more hungry for spending time with him I'm more and more desirous of fellowship with God's people why because in this world I'm a stranger Sivan's 2:16 and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross having slain the end enmity thereby and came and preached peace unto you which were afar off and to them that were not that were high for through him we both have access by one spirit under the Father now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners but fellow-citizens with the Saints and of the household of God and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord in whom he also are builded together for in habitation of God through the spirit I've come today to declare to somebody that if you're a stranger in this world that there is a place called heaven and I want to invite you to come and make your residence there it could be that you're not the crazy one living here on planet Earth it very well could be the god of glory has changed your vision to away into a place where you can decide you know what this world is not my home I'm just passing through my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue the Angels they beckon me from Heaven's open doors ah but I can't feel at home in this world anymore I can't feel at home in this world anymore I'm looking for a city I'm looking for a maker whose name is she's awesome I'm a stranger in this world I'm a pilgrim just walking through this world what I'm looking for is the place that he's prepared for me would you stand with me all over this room if you believe that heaven is real I wish its shouting man come on but I gotta ask you do you believe that hell is real shadow me you got to understand something there's a choice to be made do you realize do you understand that in this present world things are not what they appear I'm not sure if if some of you may not understand this but I'll try to explain it to you as gently as I know how do you realize that not everything you watch on Netflix is real I know I know not everything on Hulu is factual I'll look at your neighbor and say neighbor if it ain't from God I don't want it you see salvation didn't come from man it comes from the Lord the place called eternity in heaven didn't it didn't come from your plan no your idea I don't care who can write the script for the best show that they could ever show I got to realize and understand all I'm seeing is what the camera is showing me o friend of mine I can get in the word and I can see him hi and lift it up and I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt I might be a stranger here and I'm glad that I am but there's a place that I'm hungry to go to I know that I know that I know that I can make a choice today that allows me to say beyond the shadow of a doubt this world is not my home I am looking for him if you're not of this world and you don't see it as the world sees it you ought to be thankful that the Lord God has changed your life he's forgiving you of your sins he's washed you whiter than snow you ought to be thankful that the Lord God has changed you but if you're here today and you think that screaming sweaty preachers done lost his mind you need to understand something friend if you're building everything that you're ever have on this place called Earth you're gonna be so sorely disappointed I say you're gonna be so disappointed some of y'all know exactly what pastor saying you had a good job you had a good income you everything was good all the bills were paid and you got out of bed one day and went to work and everything changed you had a place to live you had clothes to wear and now everything has changed if you'll allow me one moment the picture that our dear sister Stacy showed us earlier today it makes us cry and makes our hearts bleed because we're upset that somebody would feel like they're at the end of their rope and they're not ready to live another day but I declare that our world's full of folk like that because they're building on everything on earth and everything here is temporal it is sinking sand it is never gonna stand the test of time just as big and as wonderful can I ask anybody here today has anybody been to Mesopotamia does anybody even know where earth is see you can read about it in the word that's history though it's all way back there but you know where I stand today I stand in Chattanooga Tennessee and I'm still looking for a city one of these days I say it all the time one of these days if the trumpet when the trumpet sounds and women when the dead in Christ are called up when those who are dead in the ground and crawled up the meat in here you know something you can have my house I ask you to let the dog out once in a while cuz I know he ain't going but I've come to tell somebody that you know what they're saying and nothing to do with what you can obtain here on earth oh that's why when the pastor comes to the house of the Lord and I'm down in the altar area here singing and worshiping that it does my so good to see somebody that's got their hands in the air saying all hell has broke loose in my life but I'm a stranger here I'm not building in this land I'm looking for a city it doesn't make sense that I've got health problems but I'm still gonna love and worship God it doesn't make sense that I've lost this I don't have that one thing I do is I've got my praise I've got my workshop demo you can't have it I'm a stranger here you don't know nothing about this I'm singing a song that not even the Angels can sing why because I've been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ I've been changed by the name of the almighty Oh a stranger I wish you touch somebody close to you ask him are you a stranger if you don't have the Holy Ghost today's your day if you don't yet have a place called heaven in a place where you can abide in the future today is your day if you've not gone down and water and baptism in the name the only saving name of Jesus today can be your day if you've never repented of your sins and you're walking down a journey that's leading you to a devil's hell today can be your day you can turn it around why because the only way that you'll be complete is in Jesus Christ this altar is opened right now I want to invite those strangers and pilgrims who are simply walking through this world I want you to grab somebody's hand and I want you to bring them down here to the altar and we're gonna spend some time rejoicing and worshiping in the Lord come on it might be there's somebody in here today has a need and if God doesn't mean it they don't know what they're gonna do tomorrow I've come to tell somebody today my God can supply every situation with an answer I want you to come rejoicing I want you to come blessing the name that's above every name come on mom and dad be a worshipper today come on young folk talk to the Lord today let's write that's right we're strangers in a strange land we're pilgrims we're so journey we're walking through come on I wish you worship the Lord right now like your future depended on it like your future depended on it Jesus help me to stay focused on you help me O God to realize but all gonna present comes from your hand you're a maker you're a healer yes you are you're a deliverer come on somebody run into the presence of the Lord right now I need you Jesus I worship you Jesus I believe in your Lord I believe in you more oh that's right come on yes catch on the uppercut a yellow mama ha in the name of Jesus which I don't forget a holy God that's right mom and dad get ahold of Jesus right now well god I've come to bless your name I've come to worship your name Jesus this world is not my home oh yes oh yes I love you Jesus I tried that's right that's right that's right that's right I Love You ji-sun sir I know God you've got a plan for my life I know Jesus now you have a plan for my life you've prepared a place for me so that where you are I can come and be there also yes yes yes I love you Jesus reach over pay for somebody close to you come on let the god of glory work through you right now Lord anoint them today raise them up Lord for this hour give him the courage and strength to lead help of God to make my choices and good decisions Oh God let him find salvation if you let try you can repent of your sentence your life can be turned around today I love you Jesus I love you Jesus I worship you Jesus yes I worship you you need you need prayer today somebody hears carrying a load that you know that only in God can you get relief from it I want you to come we will pray with you come on you know what it is you know what you've been dragging around it's like an albatross it's just you're just dragging it I wish I could just deal with it come on come close come on close we're gonna pray with you come on you know who you are Lord I I gotta believe you for this I know deliverance can come I know God that's how I know Lord but I can't take this with me they have come on somebody else would you come come on there's others in the name of Jesus come on you know here are you been fighting battleship and you been trying even work and you've been doing everything you can but now you need a supernatural import you need God to work in your life right now come on if he's ever answered a prayer in your life you need to know right now that he can do it again I said he can do it again I said if he did it once he can do it twice if he did it twice he can do it a hundred times over and over and over God can now right now if you have that need or you have that circumstance throw your hands in the air right now in the name of Jesus come on as high as you can get them as high as you can right now in the name of Jesus I want you to begin to pray Lord God I believe in you for great deliverance I'm believing you Lord for answers I'm believing your Lord for answers I'm trusting you Lord I'm trusting you Lord you can do anything Jesus you have the ability God you have the power Oh God you can yes you can anw Taha in the name of Jesus you can speak out into this valley you can speak into this trial you can speak Lord into this circumstance I believe you can come on my track come on Medtronic give it to go right now Lord I'll let you have it I'm done with it Lord I give it to you I'm a stranger in a strange land but I believe that I am making preparation for that land that's right come on don't stop the hell press your way into it the Haleiwa cachaça yes yes yes I'm trusting the name of Jesus I'm believing the name of Jesus yeah yeah record a yellow bubble donor the name of Jesus holy is the Lord God worthy is the name worthy is the name worthy is the main Jesus Jesus right now Lord I speak peace into a storm right now Lord I speak peace into a troubled soul I speak peace into a troubled soul right now Jesus right now Jesus I pray you would come to the bow of the ship and simply raise your hand and speak peace into somebody's life right now lord I believe you for it I pray right now you would dispatch angels from around the throne let them be dispatched Lord to come bring ministering spirits well let them touch and heal and deliver and set free god I pray it in your name come on you know who you are in this house your mind is troubled your spirit is vexed problems battles things you're fighting in the name of Jesus come on plead the blood right now over your mind plead the blood right now over your heart come on plead the blood over your thoughts come on plead the blood of Jesus over your home right now plead the blood of Jesus over everything come on plead the blood of Jesus over every circumstance right now Jesus I'm bleeding your blood I'm trusting your blood you can do anything Lord I believe you for Jesus kealoha Pisciotta in the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus I am an overcomer there is victory through the blood of the Lamb there is victory through the blood of Jesus there is victory in you Jesus there is victory in your name calabash of Oh coffee oh sweet Lamb of God there is victory in you there is victory in you Jesus there is victory in you Jesus trusting you trusting you Jesus trusting you Jesus trusting you cheese as we leave here today I wish you'd get a hold of somebody close by here if
