hey this will be good teaching tonight yeah let's all stand together hey man i want to welcome you to our midweek bible study opportunity to once again go to the word of the lord amen we are every week looking at uh during december we've been in the book of isaiah we will continue that tonight looking forward to it uh a lot of stuff going on here we are end of the year uh it's a great time to know god and serve him amen has god been good to you say man yeah he's been so good to us we're going to begin our bible study time tonight with just lifting of our hands before we sing come on just thank the lord for an opportunity to be in the house we love you jesus we bless your name jesus you are holy wonderful perfectly pure magnificent is your name oh god and we lift you up lord we love you tonight lord it is our desire to hear from you lord to draw closer to you tonight let the power of the cross of calvary work in our midst tonight lord i pray to god be the glory to god be the glory to god be the glory we love you lord we worship you we glorify you king of kings we magnify you holy one you are great god and greatly to be praised in the name of jesus in the name of jesus hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah but you're glad tonight to know the presence of the lord is real amen we're going to sing a song and then we'll pray together and get into the word of the lord turn around to somebody give them a virtual high five tell them how glad you are they're here welcome everyone online glad you're here the lord bless you let's sing together as we enter into this time tonight jesus jesus angels gave the signs the savior of humanity and he shall reign forever come and see what god has the story of amazing love the light of the world given for us son of god there before the world began born to suffer born to faith he's christ the everlasting lord and he shall reign forever come and see what god has love the light of the world given for us come and see what god the story of foreign we thank you jesus we thank you jesus thank you for coming god thank you for making away jesus come on just love on him for a second before we move forward just thank him for what he's done for us it's been a challenging year it's been a hard year but we can remember in this season how good god has been to us jesus we love you lord thank you god for your presence today jesus hallelujah come on love the lord i love you jesus hallelujah i magnify your name mighty god you are holy you are holy bless the lord you're thankful he's came come to save us to change us we're going to pray right now there's a whole lot to pray about a whole lot to give thanks for too amen the power of prayer does work the power of prayer does work sorry i got a reminder for something but uh we're gonna pray do we have needs up can y'all put the needs up for me there's a whole stack of things up here to pray over um every day of the year god is able right therefore we keep petitioning him and then we rejoice and we love him because we believe that he does the work we need to pray for our city chattanooga we need to pray for our nation the next few weeks will be an incredible time of transition in our world it's it's going to be very interesting how god is doing things i don't know about your lifetime i have many times in my life looked for the hand of god and couldn't see it until it finally unfolded because i never would have picked it that way anybody know what i'm talking about so here we are again so pray for our nation pray for our church family to be strong amen we have needs that are physical financial emotional jobs things that's going on but we know that the lord god is in control of all things but y'all pray with me right now lord jesus we love you by faith by trust by experience we come to you lord god believing you for answers tonight first of all we enter in with thanksgiving we enter in with praise tonight because you're worthy of it lord in spite of what we're going to ask or in spite of what we're going to think you're worthy of honor and glory tonight lord we come to you believing jesus that you're still on the throne you're exalted above everything lord we pray tonight for healing and bodies and minds we pray tonight lord jesus for deliverance lord we pray god for direction and guidance and provision tonight we pray lord jesus for our city of chattanooga god let us have revival in this city we pray for our nation god bless the united states of america we pray lord jesus for our military we pray for first responders we pray god for those lord that are on the front lines protecting us every day we pray dear god for an anointing to rest upon the church in this hour jesus you have us poised in a position that you want the church to be i pray in the name of the lord god that we would be victorious that we would be overcomers by the word of testimony by the power of the cross of calvary that works in us in jesus name we worship you lord we adore you magnify and exalt your name hallowed be the name of the lord god forever forever you reign lord come on somebody would you bless him right now i love you jesus i love you lord i need some prayer warriors tonight that can help me some of you ladies i want you to go over here and pray for our sis come on come on ladies get out of your chair and go pray for sister christian the lord knows what's going on god's working it out come on we're family we're family come on we're going to believe in faith just love the lord with her the lord can speak right now into this situation in jesus name hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah brother gibson would you pray for brother seth come on believe the lord for it i love you lord there is victory in the name of jesus there is victory in the name of jesus there is clarity of purpose in mind come on young folk bless the lord love him in jesus name in jesus name lord you're a healer lord god speak into their lives right now peace lord in jesus name in jesus name we claim the victory lord god in the path that's taken lord we claim the victory in the name of jesus in the name of jesus come on let the prayer of faith heal the sick come on let the prayer of faith move right now in the name of jesus we love you lord we love you lord we love you jesus hallelujah to the name of the lord as you return to your seats would you magnify the name of the lord and thank him in advance lord we thank you trust you and believe you god we believe you for it father we know that you're in control in the name of jesus we pray hallelujah oh i'm so thankful for the family of god i don't know about anybody else but when i see a prayer request come up and i know folk are praying and responding sister kim that's so powerful in my life in your life amen cody it works don't it man praying believing god for the miraculous huh come on the end of the story is not written by you it's the lord's i love you jesus amen you can be seated if you feel sunday guess where we'll be 2021. somebody say yeah if 2020 was what it was 21 is going to be incredible right look at yeah all of us are like afraid to say anything anyway the lord's in control don't forget that and as we get into january of course the 10th of january as you're digging your bible out just let me say january the 10th that second sunday in january i will be giving the the vision casting for 2021. uh our church leadership is met we've got a calendar together we can talk about it now again in january we have sunday school starts right yeah we've got that's 11 o'clock sundays all right you gonna be there mckay don't forget you forgot didn't you all right that's january the third that's right that's when that begins he'll be ready for you all right tonight oh also if you want to give tonight you can the pan's here as you leave or you can go on the app or the squares out at the beginning okay as you leave tonight so don't forget that we are in the book of isaiah if you're with your bible go ahead and get it out thank you brother duran thank you singers musicians isaiah chapter 9 we have read this of course every week for the past several we are talking about the one of the greatest prophecies ever to be given okay we have it on the board can we bring it on the screen isaiah chapter 9 verse 6 because i want us to read this out loud together a lot of times y'all wait for me to read it and then i correct myself later isaiah nine and six are you ready can you can you read out loud with me can you see it okay read with me are you ready who is that for unto us a child is born unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called wonderful counselor the mighty god the everlasting father the prince of peace verse 7 of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end upon the throne of david and upon his kingdom to order it to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever the zeal of the lord of hosts will perform this all right everybody read was you okay do we need to go again very good all right we got it thank you mccabe um as we have over the last several weeks looked at this uh i don't again i say this a lot on our bible study times because there are there are times notice bible study groups are a little smaller right it doesn't mean i don't think that nobody else is studying the bible it simply it takes a little desire to want to meet together and dig into the word of the lord is that right yeah and you gotta maybe make that extra step some of you i have no doubt tonight came in here on two wheels didn't you i'm not looking at anybody because i saw the frustration on faces who made it but uh it it's tough sometimes to get into a time where you can sit down and go into the word of the lord but i think that every week when we study we we gather in person or online it is doing something in us and to us and for us and the more that we look into the word of the lord the more that we discover if you will god has a great plan he knows what he's doing and he has allowed us to be in that plan can somebody say amen so as we have read in isaiah let me take just a moment again for the sake of this study to talk just a little bit we're talking about 750 give or take bc in judah isaiah he was the son of amaz his wife she was a prophetess this is isaiah's they had two sons um he was as a prophet they see her the word of the lord speaking to the people through uzziah king uzziah jotham ahaz and hezekiah these four leaders he was their spiritual guide okay now when we look at this we understand that the people of god have always been people let me talk about that a moment when you got people involved there will be ups and there will be downs there will be days of victory and there will be days of not victory right challenges there will be times when your faith is here and times when your faith you don't know where that's people isaiah in his day was a voice from god trying to keep god's people on track they would get close to god they'd walk away they turned they'd do quebec clothes and they'd go down and they go this is what it was so in that environment is where isaiah is writing these words now this is quite a task that he had of course when when isaiah's words i don't know if you know you can go backwards in the chapter seven you go backwards in the first beginnings of of isaiah in chapter one two three very very cool very neat stuff history stuff okay when when you write words that are going to be identified with god how many of you know you got to be in tune with god it's okay you got to know the character and the principles and precepts of god so for him to write words that were very pointed very directed that means that god evidently was very interested in communicating some specific themes lessons to the people of god when we looked at this tonight for an example unto us a child is born a son is given he he is establishing a principle here of an earthly birthly this child would be born this was not something that would come out of a book it would not something that would simply come out from under a rock but it was going to be god himself doing a work with humanity so the the first thing he says about this is it's a son he's a child he's gonna be he's gonna be little but his name it's not his titles if you will it's not even really his characteristics per se the name this name that is going to be given to this child is called wonderful counselor that of course we figured out through translation was the peleg us which means the mighty one the authoritative one that that speaks that advises that gives direction and guidance and then we looked at the next one is the mighty god this then how do you attach the mighty god to a man evidently again isaiah was very specific this is not just simply going to be a baby born but this is going to be a man that is what all powerful the mighty god el gibor the mighty champion warrior then he continues and last week we discovered the everlasting father how is it that a baby can be the father understand very pointed is what the prophet is doing here and he speaks specifically to this understand something what's going on when he mentions wonderful counselor the mighty god the everlasting father he is mentioning the god of all of creation that was there from the beginning had a plan and it attaches to this little boy it wasn't just a happenstance or roll of the dice the spin of the wheel but this is exactly what god designed it's not a basic name it's not just a name that you can ha passionately throw around but everything revolves around someone a child that is so super spectacular that the whole world would wonder at the birth of this child every point of prophecy was so incredibly grand because every single one of them connected to the one who put it all into existence god himself attached himself to a baby okay that baby then would grow would learn would get along with people would not get along would cry would fall would scuff a knee climb a tree so forth would do things that babies kids do right now the government the bible says as we continue here just a little further before we get into our final point the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end upon the the throne of david upon his kingdom to order and establish with judgment judges from henceforth even forever the zeal of the lord of hosts to perform this this government that is going to be attached to this that all of a sudden takes all of god mighty god everlasting father so forth and attaches it to a political meaning a theme a thesis a point of principle that has motive and purpose it's going to rest upon this child tonight we're going to take some time and we are going to look a little deeper at this last one the prince of peace hear what i'm saying tonight if there is one thing in our world full of ugly good bad if there's one thing that every human looks for it is peace peace peace by definition peace normal non-warring condition harmony tranquility serenity calm everybody everybody breathe i have a big old deep breath right now hold it now let it out did it work i don't know what was i trying to do my mind's too full my heart's too whatever i got too many things going on i got all these issues going on i got my this and that and the bills and the christmas and the people and the friends that have done all that warring final one mentioned here is the prince of peace listen to me peace is so wonderful anybody here have a definition beyond this for peace not now you know some of y'all need to be nice that is a day without children or that is a whatever be don't look around don't look around get in trouble just pray lord let them be saved i don't know about you but there's nothing quite like a peaceful night's sleep when you can lay your head down and all's well does anybody have ever had a terrible night's sleep what did that end up being and a real short nap because they didn't just get up well they ain't going to send them sleeping and then you get what your name is you start life again and all this stuff piles up on top of you this state of calm the state of no worries no overwhelming weights of despair isaiah calls this child to be born the prince of that y'all hang on to me a minute first of all what is a prince a prince is the first in line in a monarch or in a leadership or in a royal form the prince is the first in line that is connected directly to the king the prince has the direct connection between the royal side of a kingdom and the non-royal side of a kingdom see a king in a kingdom has certain things required of them a prince is simply coming up through the ranks making mistakes interacting with people and so forth living life until they get to that position but they're not there at first they're simply coming up the ranks if you will so what isaiah called this this child to be born is he says this is going to be the prince which means this baby will connect the position of the prince to what is a direct attachment to the family of god the king so why then would he attach this first in line stay with me this one in the order of why would he connect that prince position to peace because peace that we know it means harmonious means calmness means tranquility non-warring if jesus is then if this child is going to be the prince of peace then there is something that you and i are looking forward to that direct connection between all of god and all of humanity comes through a place that peace that you seek after is only going to come when you know the prince of it to know jesus as that connection to the power of all creation you see fact of the matter is this as as just a person just a common everyday person like probably a lot of us are ordinary folk huh for you to get into the chamber the office the place of a king what would you have to do first anyone i don't know because i've never been there i dare say there's a whole lot of paperwork to fill out there's probably some betting that you have to do there's some things that they're going to look at they're going to scan you they're going to look back at your family you can't just simply sashay into the presence of the king yoking am i right because you at that point have just threatened the position of the king and by right of the king you should die here hang on to me we know him as the wonderful counselor the mighty god the everlasting father but what every human wants is peace in their life so if you're going to get into the presence of god himself you better know the prince of peace that makes the connection for you why because i'm here to tell you if you're going to get into the presence of jehovah god you ain't going to go in there just like you think you might hear me is the lord close to somebody of a broken heart a contract yeah you know why because the heart seeking for peace i don't mean you come running in there ain't nobody ever stood at the face of god demanded something and lived to tell about it god will humble you like that and bring you to a low place so then you can crawl yourself you know why because if god is love god is also a jealous god and he's a god of order and perfectness so what isaiah is prophesying about is in a sinful world full of chaos and calamity distractions destructions and problems and pains and weariness and warring in all of the lifestyles that you and i are caught up in in day-to-day activity can i say it this way even in 2020 what would we give for just a little bit of calm what would you give for just a moment of serenity or or tranquility a moment of peace where you could recharge and revive your soul i'm here to tell you what isaiah was saying was there are times when the mighty god or the everlasting father might appear to be so grandioso but if you can get a prince to get peace into your life then you already know when you call on the prince the prince is already has favor in the king's court don't don't be distracted with well does that mean that god is this and the prince is this and this and don't get there don't no god's allowing himself as the mighty god to come to flesh but then that prince of peace is gonna be there for you hey you know one of the greatest christmas gifts you could give to anybody just ask them what would it be they'll tell you if i just had a moment of peace with all the troubles and the chaos and the junk and all the things of life would just simply reprieve and back off of me where i could take a deep breath and understand the gift of life as is anybody in here full of the holy ghost would you lift a hand do you remember the moment that you received that wonderful gift of the holy ghost i dare say most of you probably all of you you were bawling and squalling and snotting and yelling and screaming and crying and sweating and whatever else but when you yielded yourself completely unto the prince of peace his characteristic his methods his mannerisms begin to touch you and the feeling you had at that moment was what complete peace complete tranquility that's why i mentioned not long ago when somebody receives the wonderful gift of the holy ghost you can watch their countenance change you know what you're watching happen is you're watching all of this turn into this why because peace now overshadows them the prince of peace sin has a way sin has a way even if you know god even if your relationship with the mighty god the counsel and so forth even if it's there sin has a way of pushing and pulling you in directions that maybe you don't even want to go sin is very harsh on a person because it removes the protection and the blessing of the father hear me so when sin takes its toll on a person it brings a whole lot of suffering and heartache and pain does it not but then when the person whomever it is is introduced to the wonderful counselor the mighty god the everlasting father it's almost as if they've met a stranger but in the graciousness and perfectness of jesus christ he comes in and introduces himself as the prince of peace i can get you into that court i have the connection into that court and everything you'll ever need you'll find in jesus christ every name that any prophet could ever give jesus would not suffice so much as the prince of peace for each of us in our world full of issues and junk we seek peace we need calmness in our lives a blessing of hope and joy and all the stuff that tears and pulls at you and all the things going on and even this season in in 2020 peace is what we need note notice here what what the old prophet spoke connected itself to a new testament apostle in a letter written to a young preacher in 1st timothy chapter 2 verse 1 i exhort therefore that first of all supplications prayers intercessions and giving thank giving of thanks be made for all men for kings and for all that are in authority that hear it that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty for this is good and acceptable in the sight of god our savior who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth for there is one god one mediator between god and men the man christ jesus who gave himself a ransom for all to be testified in due time jesus is that mediator he's the connection between as we look at this over the last several weeks i'm here to tell you i am so encouraged by the principles and the fact of what god thought about you and i unto you a child will be born a son will be given unto you and he'll you're going to call him wonderful counselor the mighty god the everlasting father the prince of peace brother jerome would you come help me for just a moment if jesus is indeed that mediator the go-between the in-between then i believe that what we can learn from isaiah's prophecy is this in whatever chaotic world that you can find yourself in remember this is not the first generation to have a chaotic messed up world to live in there have been multiple multiple generations gone by it just so happens that we're here and we weren't there and we won't be there but we're here and so again i i i know many times i wax old and and i think of some of the old times and i still remember that feeling that overwhelming joy and peace that overshadowed me as a young person when i received this wonderful gift of the holy ghost i remember prayer times and seasons of prayer when all all questions and doubts and fears haunted my mind but when i got into the presence of jesus peace came my kid's sick my wife laying in the hospital whatever i could breathe the name jesus my job wasn't the first concern food on the table wasn't the first concern clothes to wear gas in the car wasn't the first concern the first concern was lord i don't want to lose my mind right now but it's all just swirling about me can you become right now the peace speaker and with tears streaming down my face is that's if he just simply walked in i am the prince of peace i have a connection for you see there's a whole lot of stuff we don't we don't know how it's going to turn out we don't know what the after effects we're not really sure of a lot of things but one thing i do know is there's a mediator in all rights we should die in our sin after all we're the ones that committed them did we not but yet the peace speaker the king the mighty one the everlasting is right here tonight in this yeah pastor i it's been a while since i felt that that calmness that you come to the right place tonight i'm frantically trying to figure out how how this is going to turn out then stop and let the peace speaker come in and speak into your life at this hour when we pray you are calling upon the greatest name that has ever been uttered into all of creation and his name shall be called jesus mary don't forget that joseph don't forget that jesus that's jehovah it's become salvation but at that name all of these things begin to unfold and then you understand his advisor he's incredible he is magnificent he is god himself he surpasses all things by being the father that can originate and terminate and you know him as the peace speaker stand with me please the peace the peace that we need so many times in our world allow me to say this and i'm bringing it down though landing gears out you may testify or witness to co-worker family member and they just kind of yeah whatever yeah that's you that's not me you did that i can't you know what they're actually saying is i'm not really sure if i really know what peace is because my life is always in a in a shambles it's always turning and tossing and two and and fro the fact is the prince of peace has all the ability to put everything in order so tonight before you go home christmas is just a day or so away would you invest a few moments looking for the prince of peace lord i need you families going to be gathered around the next couple days and lord they drive me crazy can you be peace in my life lord there's uncertainties on the job or uncertainties and finances or health would you be the prince of peace tonight in my life i sure could use it can you just breathe into my situation and calm it all down and even if i can't get a hold of it if i can get a hold of you god it's gonna be all right because you're the prince of peace would you come to an altar right now i know it's wednesday and it's peaceful in here and quiet come on would you come take some time right now and let the calm and the peace come into your life come on for some of you it's been a long time since you've been able to take a deep breath and simply breathe but he is the prince of peace that's right come on it may show itself in tears it may show itself and weeping it may show itself in the unknown but come on reach to him right now lord be my prince of peace right now you're wonderful your counselor your mighty god your everlasting father tonight lord i call on the prince of peace you're the mediator you're the one that's the between come on somebody reach for him lord breathe peace into the church breathe peace into families breathe peace lord into our city into our nation we need peace we search for peace tonight that kind of peace that just surpasses and goes beyond all comprehension and understanding the peace that comes from knowing you come on somebody sense of peace i love you jesus his name is jesus i trust you my bible says yes to you my soul says yes to you my heart lord has stayed on you i need you lord i need you lord i need you lord can you breathe into my life can you breathe into my children can you breathe into my family peace isaiah the prophet the seer such a perfect way to put words and names so fitting for all of us whatever generation i know probably the majority of you tonight were sitting here when i was talking about him speaking peace in your life probably the story that came to your mind was the storm and disciples in the boat and all the turmoil and the uncertainty and the chaos life almost done the possibilities of turning over and drowning walks to the edge of the boat and everybody around is nervous scared screaming yelling worried he just said peace be still and everybody in the boat hear this everybody on the shore everybody in perimeter and proximity of that water saw the waves do this so tonight if that's you you know the peace speaker you know him by name come on let him calm the seas of turmoil in your life right now come on he can he can he wants to he wills i love you jesus i love you jesus oh i magnify your name oh jesus i thank you for this season if you're comfortable with it grab a hold of somebody's hand let's pray one for another as we leave here on this wednesday night lord god i thank you for the church family i thank you that you are our wonderful counselor mighty god everlasting father and the prince of peace the seal of the lord performed all that was needed as the plan unfolded prince of peace you're in this place right now and for that we're thankful i pray an anointing right now upon the church lord wherever people are wherever the saints of god are right now i pray the glory of the lord would rise would reign and rise above each of them help us lord god in this hour to love and serve you be witnesses lord of your grace and goodness we're going to leave here tonight lord but stay connected to you we're going to come back worshiping and loving you you are everything jesus and we bless you right now i plead your blood over us lord go with us keep us bring us back together in jesus name somebody say amen come on he the prince of peace take him with you whatever you do don't set him down but take him with you i love y'all have a great weekend jesus remember be nice to somebody tis the season somebody's checking a list twice love y'all going god
