again let me say welcome to everyone if you have your Bible tonight we'll try to use his you have the app on your phone or the Bible app you're welcome to get that out you man of course we are in the middle of April which basically means that this month we're talking about things that pertain to the cross of Calvary and the grave the empty tomb last Wednesday night of course we talked about our first Wednesday night on the Descent tonight we'll continue in that vein this past Sunday we talked about it this coming Sunday will again talk about different aspects of it I want you to understand something about this friends this is probably the most important things if you will events that could have happened in all of humanity amen the cross of Calvary changed everything it changed everything because of that the more we understand it the more we comprehend the purpose and the plan and what happened between the cross and the grave then we are more apt to be able to fully comprehend listen if you love Jesus just because he's good sooner or later you may wonder about his goodness when something bad happens but if you love Jesus because you understand his death burial and resurrection were for you then all of a sudden things could take a different turn you could really realize you know what in the good and bad you're God and whether I get it or I don't your God and whether I understand or I don't your God and through all of it your plan is going to be worked out amen there's no room for detail I say this a thousand times it's another service I'll say it again if you're gonna doubt one thing you might as well throw it all out believe all of it it's there for us amen so let's go to the book of Matthew we'll read all of it or at least a couple of verses Matthew 27 Josh you back there thank you sir Matthew 27 verse 50 is where we'll begin this evening if somebody will begin reading for me Matthew 27 somebody read for me out loud verse number 50 when you get it please 51 some 152 let's start that 52 very good 53 someone okay we're gonna stop there thank you guys for reading Jesus died look at your neighbor's say Jesus died tell somebody he died you got that part I mean believes that Jesus died the body of Jesus stopped breathing the blood that was in the body of Jesus went away Jesus died again you got to get this I know this is choir stuff I'm preaching to the choir so to say but I'm telling you friend and you got to understand that his beaten and his bruised body hung on a cross and knowing that we understand today that as ugly as it was it was the one of the most beautiful things that a humanity could ever encounter the sacrifice of a man for me for you for you now the sight would would not have been appealing to the eye and yet it's still beautiful because of what it represents now tonight while we sit here we are reminded again that it was a great great sacrifice that was paid for us you got to know also that his entrance into this world was angelic his purpose while on this earth was heavenly and because of that we can calmly and with confidence say that his death would be no different as we've been looking in the time in the life of Jesus Christ we are understanding that fulfillment of prophecy was so vitally important okay we understand that the prophetic utterances from years prior had to come to pass you've got to get that again I got the more I understand about the scripture and what it reveals and what the prophets said and with the with the guys hundreds of years prior spoke or uttered there they're coming into fruition and and no doubt many folks had forgot about them meaning folks had maybe even just bypassed it but yet there were still prophecies to be fulfilled and because of that Jesus came me let me read another one let's go to the Book of Luke this is way cool Book of Luke chapter number four verse number fourteen is where we'll begin Luke 4 and 14 and Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee and there went out of Fame of him through all the region round about somebody read number 15 please all right 16 very good 17 someone okay verse 18 someone very good 19 someone mmm-hmm twenty someone and begin to say into them this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears all right the reason this is vitally important is because we are here at the beginnings if you will of the Gospel according to Luke and knowing that Jesus comes in it says here that that he was brought up in Nazareth he came there his custom which means he was very used to going to the synagogue are you with me he went to the church on the Sabbath and the east they would stand and read the Book of Isaiah was brought to him and he opened it up and he began to read and interestingly enough he didn't just start at verse chapter 1 verse 1 as it would have been written in that time but yet he went and he searched out for a particular passage Bible says that he he found the place where something was written and he wanted to talk about it and and he begins by the Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor sent me to heal brokenhearted to preach deliverance to captives recovering of sight to blind set at liberty them that are bruised he had a specific purpose he knew where to find it in that book he knew where it would be written because he was there when the word came understand that now he's standing if you will in this synagogue in this church in this house of worship he's been there many times it's his custom to go into the synagogue on the Sabbath and so here he is one more time and he continues and says to preach the acceptable year of the Lord and he paused if you will he closed the book that had been handed him he gave it to the preacher and he sat down after you and I that may not seem like a big deal but it was huge in the customs and the courtesies of that day if you started to read you had to make sure that you finished the reading it showed all reverence and all respect to the words of the prophets but Jesus had an agenda look at your neighbors say he knew what he was doing Jesus had agenda I'm going to the synagogue today because somebody needs to be there needs to hear what's about to happen and he said I've been sent here there's something happening the Spirit of the Lord is here there there's an anointing that's here I'm going to preach the gospel to the poor I'm gonna heal broken heart and I'm gonna preach deliverance I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna touch blinded eyes and they're gonna be able to see and those that are bruised I'm gonna be able to touch them and set them free in saying that listen to it he fulfilled prophecies He fulfilled the scriptures in their ears there was no room for question all of life's purpose in Jesus was for the sanctification and cleansing and for the making new and justifying and putting all back together the sins and the lives of humanity his birth for an example came into this world for a certain purpose the angel even told Mary you've been found with a child and he's gonna be holy he's gonna be perfect you're gonna call him Jehovah who saves and in that all at that point from that point forward everything pointed to his ministry now I went through all of that to simply lay a foundation for tonight's lesson in that everything about Jesus was for a reason there was no rolling the dice if you will there was no I wonder if this is going to turn out there was no shuffling the cards and trying to deal out a new hand every thing about Jesus was perfectly right now we look at his his birth and how that he came and all the purposes were fulfilled and now we're gonna look at his death Jesus would become the sacrificial lamb for all of humanity now what does it exactly mean to be a sacrifice can somebody tell me what is a sacrifice I know okay we'll take that offering what else it's another way to say sacrifice okay there's a price involved with it costs okay someone else what is the sacrifice okay something that you give maybe you don't want to maybe you do but what you decide this is what this is for come on somebody somebody it's okay it's 2019 tell me what a sacrifice is offering yeah what about what is the sacrifice okay we'll take it what else you're on the right track we'll take that - what does anybody here ever given a sacrifice surrendering very good does anybody here ever given a sacrifice what's your sacrifice what time what else yeah itself will okay what else finances dollar bills hundreds of dollar bills thousands of dollar bills some of you million some of you okay well anyway come on what's what's some way you've sacrificed interesting that that we can think of sacrifice but when it comes to us willingly being able to look at our lives how many times can we say we actually sacrificed is that is that okay question for time what does it mean to sacrifice something let go with me here he would be the sacrificial lamb if you were to go back to the book of beginnings the book of Genesis in the beginning God created we all get that right God put it all into motion God had a purpose and a plan for everything a bur F burry fame everything nothing nothing was just on a counter not a thing and if you really take time and as a student of the word if you'll get into the Old Testament you'll begin to research you'll notice that everything about what God did in creation and those few verses that we have reference to in the book of Genesis you'll find out that dirt had a purpose you'll find out water had a purpose you'll find out everything in the dirt and everything in the water had a purpose from from where did he pull the fouls anybody come on Genesis guys out of the water in that cool how that he made water and then out of that he brought what where did the animals come from I'm sorry aminals where do they come from where the snuffleupagus come from huh out of the the dirt came these animals they all came out of source listen to me please I realize and I've said even from this desk that there's probably one or two things that when I get to heaven if it so comes up in a roundtable discussion or an open forum I may ask mosquitoes I'm just asking flies I get you know flies devoured carcasses and stuff yeah and they're gross but they do moths I get I I even get bumble bees don't kill bumble bees please leave the bumble bees alone don't kill bees leave them alone they do what and that so cool that God would make this little deal to make sure that that big deal had fruit that is so cool the bumble bees won't hurt you just leave them alone all right they're probably hurt you'll hurt yourself trying to get away from them because there's the big scientifically bumblebees cannot fly they can't they can't it's impossible but what do they do stay with me the water the plants the animals the mammals the birds everything was exactly perfectly designed and made no room for error understand no room for flaws there were no factions no no fissures no cracks if you will everything was exactly and perfectly right that's the god you serve settle that in your mind when God spoke it it was exactly right we probably would have got it wrong I mean there's no way that I would have fully comprehended a tree I mean he's ever drawn trees before on a piece of paper remember the first man you drew what you do now that's a mommy oh here in a dress that's about as good as it got bite as good as got then I thought I was a real draw because I could draw racecars and I've never driven one of those race cars Logan Thanks I'm sure that I would have forgot something I don't know like brakes or things like that listen to me carefully in the midst of the perfect world that God had put together everything was exactly right when it came to the animals the files the fish and all that they are just simply creatures of have it its nature I'm talking about this often because it's so cool how that a dog doesn't really know all he does is what a dog does cats all they do is what cats do birds all they do is what birds do you know on and on anybody ever get on to their dog and the dog turn on do it again like eat Easter eggs off the table knowing full well that last year he almost lost his life for doing my venting he just forgot it this is like I forgot pain suffering pain suffering pain suffering this is not gonna be good not gonna be good not be good not gonna be good and some reason he did it and my wife says honey I st. no honey at all I was gonna eat that egg anyway hey little man so I just scrape it off and eat I'm joking I'm joking but they do that's what it is I got I happen to have I thought it was a cool idea to have a pond next to the house that we built and these big ol aminals are about this big and they go cray cray cray cray cray cray cray cray they're geese there's about nine billion of them out there and they're really cool when they're not there my lion when I got out there in the morning time and there's nine hundred four of these guys talking at once right where prayer my wife is out what is that noise hunter female geese how do you know listen they're not they're male a female which one I don't know I could be right you could be right but that's what they do it's what they do never seen a bird I'm sorry I'm sorry cartoons can do what they want the fact is God knew exactly what he was doing stay with me when it came to man humanity said I'm gonna make you in my image I'm gonna build you like this now have we ever seen the image of God only in okay only in US but stay with me when God put Adam there in that perfect place you know what he told Adam Adam you got a job mister well yeah what's my job perfect god I want you to give a name to all these stuff really yeah name um hmm okay okay and there he goes oh my my in the Bible he starts naming the animals now we don't know the details and all we know is today that's a cow it could have been called a kooky Juke walking back of the dad not sure but it's a cow for us and that was the indication that was given to it but something in the garden was put there by the God that new humans had the ability to choose no no other creature animal critter no other mosquito fly snake none of that stuff could choose but man could and in the middle of that garden the Bible says that he put a tree there and he says to Adam he says don't touch that tree everything else yours the day you touch that one deaths on its way okay and we talk about this a lot of course but I'm here tonight talking about there and there stay with me because Adam looking at that tree of the what the knowledge of good and evil he saw that tree we don't know what the fruit was of course he apples get blamed but it could have been watermelons at that time I don't know you know in this car the grapes were as big as large melon so it could've been anything at that time but he said you touch everything name all the stuff get all the names sorted out file it in whatever kind of spreadsheets you need make sure that you can boot up your whatever it was but do not touch that tree there were other trees in the garden that he could for take of you realize stay with me for a moment I don't want to get polluted we sidetracked here but you realize that when Adam and Eve were in the garden had no need for meat they need it that everything they needed in the garden fruits vegetables and all the stuff they're on there was no reason to take a life to live they had the sustenance that they needed they're in the midst of this and there's that tree and God says to Adam don't touch the tree if you touch the tree you'll have the knowledge of good and evil and it's going to make you know things now that tree was said don't touch it you realize there was another tree in the garden that even God spoke about was the Tree of Life do you realize that Adam in the garden could have four taken of the fruit of the tree of life if he could have just lived anybody ever ask a question in a sunday-school class how come the old guy Methuselah lived to be 960 plus years anybody ever wonder about that stay with me in this what we're going to talk this in this in that perfect place life provision was there but again because of the scriptures because of the way things were accomplished there was going to be a conflict sin came on the scene sin walked into the scene now God knew this there was no surprise in fact that God was God was he knew what was going to happen that's why he gave Adam and Eve the ability to choose and when God came to them and said where are you Adam and his first words out of his mouth was we hid ourselves because we were naked and up to that point they did not have the knowledge of being naked wasn't a factor it did not play into the equation it was nothing there was no shame no reproach in it but the first thing this is so incredibly cool the very first act that we see here whence instead on the scene is what got to cover myself I've got a putting they Steven says that they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves word that pattern come from now they have the knowledge of good and evil and they know that showing their nakedness was one shame covering their nakedness was a way to remove that shame stay with me for a minute here in all of that if man would have been able to remain in the garden do you realize that having eaten of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that they could have been for taking of the tree of life and they would have lived forever sin the nature of sin no way to stop them because when God built things he built him exactly the way they were supposed to be what's going to be in heaven somebody is there gonna be a tree they're called the Tree of Life you may know anything about the tree that the leaves were for the healing of the nation's that's heaven stuff here we are we're looking at this garden and so what God says to Adam and says to Eve's he says you know what I can't stop you now from what what you're gonna protect off your understanding has been open your your way of thinking now has been changed and because of that I have to get you out of this place now to do that God notice God did not send them out of the garden with fig leaves but what did God do you realize nakedness brings shame when you are aware of your openness it brings shame it also brings separation you notice that there are differences I'm not being crude I'm telling you you notice there are things that are different and because of that God knew this has to be covered and in God's creation humanity brought sin and understanding on the scene all of a sudden God has to cover the sin that man / took of so what did God do God the scripture says provided them with skins interesting it calls them skins I did a little bit of homework you nobody know what the translation is in the King James Version for skins I could tell you very simple it skins you thought I was a comma some we all were like wow see being a look at this and I said okay God if this is the case in this perfect place you had to remove men from it now we all know that because of what had happened here that Eve was gonna be made to bear children and she was gonna have pains he was actually gonna go to death's door to bear children Adam was gonna have to work and sweat now and anything that he got out of the ground that was provided before now he's got a sweat to get it out of there everything that they're doing now is gonna be because now they have basically become not like God but sin now separated them and because of that there would have to be a sacrifice now we don't know what animal God took the skin from we don't know if the carcass was laying there and God simply just took it and molded and made and and gave Adam and Eve the knowledge to know we need to put that on right there you know we can we can only assume that the Garden of Eden was not ten feet in snow or if it would have been a polar bear skin or it wasn't you know 907 degrees and they didn't want a polar bear skin there so God knew what he was doing stay with me fact of the matter is is that anytime any time that sin has to be covered sacrifice has to be made now notice something here when God wanted to have interaction with humanity God said build me a tabernacle build me a place I will not come and meet with you in your home I will not come and meet with you here there I won't I won't do it you build me a place and when you get this place the way that I tell you to build it then this is how I'm gonna come into your presence Leviticus it's the law to the Levites because they were the workers in the tabernacle Leviticus chapter 1 verse number 1 notice what the scripture says and the Lord called unto Moses taking him out of the tabernacle of the congregation saying verse 2 speak under the children of Israel say to them if any man of you bring an offering under the Lord he shall bring your offering of the cattle even of the Lord of the herd and of the flock if his offering verse 3 says be a burnt sacrifice of the herd let him offer a male without blemish he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord I'm gonna stop there for just a moment listen to me carefully please when you have time I ask you I implore you go into the Levitical law and read the purpose of sacrifice there were many many sacrifices that were made in Old Testament days it wasn't just a flip of the coin it wasn't just to happenstance you had to know your transgression and you had to deal with it accordingly it was known as the Levitical law the Levites they worked in the tabernacle when God laid out the laws this is what he told them a meat offering is going to be made with flour and oil no leaven an offering of any of the generic kind because you had sin in your life you would have to bring then of the male kind you would have to bring of the herd into have sacrifice made a peace offering was from the herd it could be male or female a sin offering was female from the flock or a kid goat birds could also be used but if you brought birds in certain types of birds you had to bring in a pair of them one will be killed and one would be used the reason that I'm mentioning that is because all of the regulations and all the statutes according to God's law was this there is sin and if you sin the only way to make sure that sin is dealt with is to kill something you cannot go and borrow it it has to be yours you can take finances and money and go buy it put it away and make sure that it doesn't get hurt because God did not accept junky sacrifices it had to be what without a blemish without a spot it could have no wrinkles in it could have no mess-ups in it it had to be perfectly exactly what God was requiring the reason that that is so important is because from the very beginning in the book of Genesis when sin entered into this world friend you got to understand something as God never left anything out if you're going to have your sins dealt with you got to kill something to take the place of your sin now it wasn't a permanent thing old testament you'd have to bring the sacrifice you'd have to give it but each time that you had a wave offering a heave offering each time that you had a Passover offering if you had whatever it happened to be there were offerings of all kinds and all types everything first and foremost listen carefully had to be offered to God when you made a harvest part of it first part went to God when you planted seed you had to give to God when there was children born you had to give to God if you touch something unclean you had to give to God if you had a boil or something come up on your skin you had to give to God if there was something in your life that sin caused you had to give to God we talked about it the other day what a job do for his kids in case they sinned last night I come to bring a sacrifice to you O God to cover the sins of my children that's how serious God was about it for all you - II guys in here what did you learn last Sunday in Sunday school how many laws were there how many Hirini 613 laws is that right people yelling of y'all goes in there 613 laws 613 laws now this is talked about in the book of James it's New Testament stuff the pastor the preacher James talked about it 613 laws do you realize that with God's people if they transgressed one of those 613 laws what happened they transgressed all of the law complete and whole if you thought a bad thought that was contrary to God's purpose and plan everything else was transgressed that's why here o Israel the Lord our God is one Lord talking about it to your kids when you get up when you lay down when you go out the door when you come in when you rise up when you're in the way you talk about it you got to keep everything under the place where God can cover it notice what the rider to the church said notice it's New Testament it's two to the Hebrews chapter number 12 verse number one y'all know this one wherefore seeing we are we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses let us lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us can somebody read verse two please for consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself lest she be wearied and faint in your minds when you think about the one who paid the price who paid all of it everything that was contrary to God everything that went against the plan and a purpose of God when you think about it we know that Jesus Christ became that sacrifice for us your stand the vastness of what Jesus undertook on the cross it wasn't just for the 613 laws of Old Testament days it was for everything that's happening today in 2019 do you realize friends that that when when Jesus gave up the ghost if you will on the cross that he knew full well things are about to be different we find the New Testament writers would say no longer will there be a need for for the blood of sheep and goats and cows and Rams necessary there was a spotless lamb that was put on a cross for you and I here we are in our Easter season and we're talking about the risen Savior and again this Sunday we're going to talk about it again next Wednesday night will do communion like they did and then on Easter Sunday we're going to talk about an empty tomb but I declare to you on this Wednesday night that every single one of us in here need a covering and that covering is the blood of Jesus shed for all of us Hebrews 10 and 9 simply says this then he said lo I come to do thy will o God he taketh away the first that he may be established a second by the which will we have we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all and every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices which can never take away sins but this man after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever sat down the right hand of God translation is is this guy Jesus represents the power and authority of God I have overcome every bit of this I don't know about you but when I consider what Jesus did when I consider the Old Testament guys listen I know sometimes that that we can haphazardly look at the Old Testament law and how that you know that was neat for them back there but we're in a new day and and I know that we can throw the word grace around a lot mercy around a lot and we can we can back up one another and say yeah but you know what except for the grace of God except for mercy of God the fact of the matter is is I don't know about you but I would probably make a really bad Jew because I would just expect that what I did was okay not so that's the mentality of a new generation what what's wrong with what I say or do what's the matter if I call it this or I say it's that what do you mean if I use this vocabulary or this word or or if I disrespect or if I look down on or if I don't on or if I kill an unborn or well you know what what's the big deal about that come on it's all of our culture and life it's just what we do and fact of the matter is it is 100% contrary to God don't think for one moment just because Jesus died on a cross went into a tomb came out of the grave that we can live just like we wanna it takes an everyday Jesus cover me again cover my children today cover my future grandbabies cover my church Lord cover my friends somebody's gonna make a really dumb choice today god I pray and reach forming speak to him somebody's gonna make a bad mistake it very well could be me I'm asking you that let me once again understand the power of the sacrifice on the cross Krauss was not a pretty sight bloody gross nasty suffering hey I don't know that I could officially say that I've heard or seen such anguish in pain of you again I said this the other day but I realize Hollywood doesn't work but I don't I don't I don't know well we'll say this and I'm bringing the landing you down I have heard I have personally heard my own ears the anguish of a mother that lost a child to death the scream in the wail I have been there when death was pronounced over a body and family standing around just begin to scry moan and weep and even fall to the floor I stood at one bedside one time and she took her last breath and grandkids didn't get it they didn't understand it man they just fell hard and just wailing the only thing I could do is say wow I don't even know how to help I don't even know what to say I can't even touch him and help him that that's pain that was in maybe somebody in here knows what I'm talking about that even that nothing to compare I can only imagine what Mary thought could only imagine I could only imagine the scripture says when the angel finished with Mary talking to her that she hid kept pondered in her heart the sayings there were several times in the scriptures that the Bible says that of her she heard what was said when he was 12 in the temple she pondered those things in this little fellow something's going on I wonder sometimes if she recalled that laying I would have been laying flat screaming to the top of my lungs while the blood of Jesus is running down a cross you guys killed him the only thing that I could hear echoing in my mind right now with the blood splattering and the wind blowing it around his father forgive them I stand here tonight talking about the dissent going from there into there he brought the culmination of all the Levitical law and he righted it when he went into the grave he descended and took care of death and took care of the grave and he took care of Hell and what did it dealt out if you will he took dominion over that he already had it but he took control of it and controlled the doorway going into it and again he established it's a you know the very beginning man was given a choice they have a choice again and it is me they can choose me and I have all control of everything that's happening in that grave if they'll just choose me if they'll let me be their sacrificial lamb if they'll let me be the blood that covers them I can take care of everything that will ever happen to them stand with language yell a charnel about every time I look at the the count of creation and I look at the account of the crucifixion I am reminded that God's plan perfect right correct unwavering without blemish without stuff just exactly the way that it was supposed to happen in you and I today I can take full advantage of the fact that He loves us and he forgives us I want you to pray with me right now come on pray Jesus first of all we thank you for the cross thank you for being or sacrifice anytime's sin was announced there had to be sacrifice anytime disobedience was dealt with there had to be a sacrifice anytime that things are out of sorts or contrary to God there there had to be a sacrifice Jesus he became our sacrifice you overcame so many things for us here I did and corrected so many things that were established tonight Lord we are for tankers and we thank you for that opportunity come on somebody needs to pray right now somebody's allowing the things of this world to sidetrack somebody's allowing the fear and the doubt of what you don't have what you can't see to overshadow what God is actually doing come on you need to understand something the sacrifice was Jesus but you have to yield to that you have to get yourself to a place where he can work in your life would you lift your hands to him Church would you love him for just a moment before you go home Lord we cherish you and we love you are God alone and you are exalted above everything thank you Jesus for dying on a cross for us thank you Jesus for paying the price for us we honor you and we love you and in everything we thank you be glorified I pray be exalted Lord I pray be lifted high Jesus I pray your will your way be accomplished I ask in the name of Jesus Lord I plead your blood over us tonight go with Escada keep us and protect us lord I pray this week we're gonna come back this weekend Lord expecting great and wonderful things trusting God in your hand and your playing and all that you have and the wonderful precious holy perfect name of Jesus I love you guys thank you so much for coming out tonight the Lord bless you shake hands be
