would you pray with me church right now Lord we love you and we bless your name we come together today Lord to love and lift you up and to pray to sing to magnify you Lord we have done just that we have lifted our hands and our voices our hearts to you praise and adoration to you right now Lord we hunger for you to speak and to do something in our lives today we desperately need hope to work in US hope dear God to move in our lives Jesus speak to us Lord I make myself available one more time Jesus I so need you today Lord as a church family we need you Jesus waiting for you God is so challenging for Humanity that you worked Lord God the way you work not turning back Lord I'm moving to you somebody shout in Jesus name before you sit down would you just lift your voice to the Lord and one more time of praise come on Lord speak into my life today give oh God speak into my life today Lord I need you I need your word Lord to do its work in my life today Jesus Hallelujah somebody say in Jesus name thank you so much to our singers and musicians thank you to all of the staff that works Sunday school teachers and Water Center routers and coffee maker uppers and car Parker routers and flag put her outers and everybody else involved takes all of us doesn't it if you don't have something to do at Cornerstone you need to you need to you'll feel so much better thank you to everyone that's involved and invested at CAC got a bright future good things are happening amen you can be seated if you feel like you need to give honor to all of you online watching I welcome you here communication is very interesting thing communication say that with me communication you didn't say it with me you said it after me say that with me communication men and women boys girls children adults youth we all have an interesting way of getting a point across from us to someone else when I was a child growing up my father had a look that did not have any vocal capacity he didn't need to say it he could just look and I knew a whole lot you may know what I'm saying come on we used to call it the hairy eyeball you know that eyeball gets lifted there my wife and I we've been married a bunch of years and a lot of times she can just simply look over at me and never say a word Ethan and I and she just said a paragraph by that huh and I've learned how to respond to her Kevin I've learned because I have to respond back with ooeys you know that keeps me out of trouble come on Nathan you see what I'm saying a wink maybe at somebody just kind of says something without saying anything communication tilt of the head you know you know I've heard it I've heard In This Very Room several times I have heard a snap and Spa and all 14 000 kids kind of pause was that my mom or dad and don't yeah I better turn around because they recognize that snap my wife could do that to our kids when they were little but she could speak and it was very soft but boy they would through all of the stuff going on and they'd say this Mom mom didn't say anything but Mom snapped guess what I need to do I need to go to the snap the snap has a meaning come on communication the way you raise your voice the way you lower your voice come on you can say husbands you can save your wife I love you and that doesn't mean near what hey I love you means it's the same words but what you changed the inflection and everything changes that was what helped me the most in learning another language especially the Latin language or the Hispanic the man Spanish is very very much inflictions and ups and downs and accents and all and I learned very quickly that I could say a word with a different accent and it meant a whole nother thing and I'm like oh I better not use that no more I better learn how to communicate body language you may understand body language you don't say nothing it's just body language you know some people's body language is equals a sachet you know they're like y'all know what I'm talking about confidence when people walk and they feel like they know who they are where they're from they don't have to say anything but they communicate something we all understand that without saying a word you can say a whole lot amen I believe today that communication amongst humanity is a very interesting thing it's how we're made actually as individuals it's how God designed us it's how we function in the day in and the day out from birth of a child they begin to respond a certain way to the languages that's learned how many you knows that children at three weeks old don't understand it's time for you to make your bed that aren't those words shouldn't they get it they don't understand yet right I mean interesting thing is how that people begin to learn words and phrases and sentences one of the first words that children ever say is what mine you know I hear parents all the time my child's the smartest you know what I mean she's four weeks old but she's already learned Mandarin Chinese and she's working on Hebrew right now I mean she's smart kid I look at that I'm like yeah your child is just burping that's all they're doing they're not speaking any of those languages but when you come together for an example a husband and wife my wife and I when we fell in love with each other back at the beginning and we are still in love with each other to today we had to learn that language I wasn't the best at it she had to help me a lot she had instruct me a lot I've read that book multiple times and I'm still chapter one trying to figure figure out how to understand it because my language to her Josh is not the same it doesn't carry the same way she can look at me like I'm just doing I look back at her that same way and it doesn't work the same how was that Sam you know talking about all your ministers are going oh Lord help me not look help me not make an example all the ladies are sitting here going Lord just let them be saved just let him be saved language language in a legal document for an example if it's not said the same way written or or pronounced in the same there's a reason that there's 48 pages to a contract there's a lot of wording in there because it's communicating the desire of that contract you got to make sure in today's technology and in today's world that you cover all your bases so there's all this language these words that are out there communication is an incredibly huge part of our everyday living from what you see what you hear what you smell what you experience the how the what the where the when the what for in communication friends there is something and a meaning behind everything it's interesting to me that if I'm standing up here speaking to you and you guys are very kind to listen at least with open eyes you're you're you're at least focused on what I'm saying or doing they could put something up on the screen behind me and I may or may not know it and I might think in myself that boy I'm really getting this point across because everybody's looking at me but the fact is is that there's something on that screen that has drawn your attention because that communication catches your eye more than my communication anybody know what I'm talking about has anybody here ever been distracted squirrel what it's like a fish in water you're fine until that lure comes by you're swimming along minding your own business oh shiny you take off after it come on it happens to us all the time communication as you begin to speak as a child listen listen to me as you all know I just had a birthday I'm 58 and I'm finding a struggle with my words I think it is so cool that children when they learn might want to see my book and we all look at that we're like that's the huge am I know I might do oh they're so cute huh come on Josh you know what I'm talking about [name redacted] will say those things I say yeah if I said that same words Josh same words y'all to look at me bless his heart even lost his mind my love all my y'all today y'all go why what happens as you mature you hope that you learn and you grow the representation of your age begins to establish itself it sounds very different when a child says the same thing that an adult says have you ever heard a Child Say Something Real intelligent you look at them say well who in the world do you think you are huh come on you guys don't talk about because we hear adults say childish things all the time the simple truth is simply this listen carefully we learn we grow we understand because the communication the skills that we learn we understand that there are weight to those words and they have value in in the English system for an example when you put words in order they have to mean something by the way that they connect words matter you can't simply just throw out a series of words and hope everybody gets it understand what I'm saying stop sounding red down the gray and the camera came up on the black thing and it went y'all get that no because although they were a bunch of words they weren't what they didn't connect they didn't help one another they didn't do anything to one another I do that I use that example often I used to use it a lot when my kids were at home I'd say something come on dad you know and they're ignoring you and so I would just say a whole stack of words together and they thought what that don't make sense that's because you're not listening if you were listening you would know this is what I was saying when I talked to someone I watched she accused me this I'm talking and anybody here know what it means and when you're talking to a Walmart's gonna be talking to a wall let me understand that nobody well Logan I'm going to help you understand if I'm saying something around the cable or family or friends it appears that no one's listening my wife looks at me I'm turned around looking at the wall saying so what I was saying was the other day I was out walking this thing and it came up and when I was dying I understand either but the only thing I knew to do was and I was like you're a crazy thought I might as well be talking to why because that's the response I'm getting then all of a sudden okay okay go ahead well now I don't want to words matter how you use words matter I stand here today simply for this purpose I want to remind us today in the church that there is something that you and I hold in the power of our hands our hearts and in our minds John wrote it this way in the beginning was the word the word was with God the Word was God the same was in the beginning with God all things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made in him was life and the life was the light of men the light shineth in darkness and the Darkness comprehended it not first of all there was a word somebody shout word that word was with God that word was God you can't separate that word because it's all encompassed in God it was all about him a word a way to communicate an inflection an understanding a desire to get a point across was the word and in that word was life and that life was light so now I'm back to the basis of where I am today when John was writhing in his notebook all of the things that Jesus was sharing with him in the collectiveness of what John understood the activities that Jesus and his followers did the only thing he could come up with in the beginning of his writing was simply this in the beginning that word was that word is that word has always that word has a significance John started it that way why because he knew if you'll ever fall in love with the word things will change in your life the word it carried about all Doctrine and all teachings the word that Jesus spoke in the Midnight Hour would come to fruition in the middle of the day the word that would come out of Jesus's mouth would plant itself into the heart of men and they would respond to it come on we know this to be true on the day of Pentecost that acts talks about Peter stood up and gave this Dynamic message they that were listening that day what they say men and Brethren what shall we do why because a word has come and hit us right in our hearts and we don't know what else to do and Peter simply said to them respond to the word it's interesting to note how that John uses the principle of who God is word word has a meaning and word has a power word also has a purpose it can be used in so many different ways it can also be misunderstood as well listen to me carefully please I want to give an example of this I want to explain how this works many people today 2023 they are simply questioning the existence of God you may notice this he may anybody notice that's going on in our society and our culture they are questioning the existence of God and there is one reason why they are questioning the existence of God it is because they are not familiar with God's word if you'll ever understand the word of God you will find out the God of all creation will reveal himself to you if you'll ever get into the word and begin to read the word that word of God will become life to you the reason our world is confused scratching their head there's no God I don't believe in that God I simply tell them it's because you don't get into the word of God why because in the word is life and in that life is light it'll shine through every doubt you've got it'll bring you out when you can't see where to go I've come to tell you today in our world now more than ever we better make sure the word of God is exciting and moving in our lives if you ever throw your Bible to the corner cover it up with an old bed sheet it's gonna die in your house but you talk about him in the morning talk about him at noon time talk about him when everything's falling apart talk about the goodness of God when it's making sense talk about it when nothing makes sense why because there's life in the word there is life in his word see you alive we may not understand that concept how many know somebody today that's not worth their word don't answer don't look at your writing left look right here I'll keep you out of trouble why why do you say that about someone well you know how they are you can't believe what it says what comes out of their mouth what are they establishing about that person can I want to get any political things going on today but I can tell you this in our nation there's a whole lot of words being spoken at high levels and they carry very little weight because they're not following through with what they have said others we scratch our head and wonder why they're saying it and why they're doing what they're doing they are simply fulfilling what they have said it's the way of our world today you know there was a time when a man could shake hands and and be understood and make an agreement with that I've told y'all many times my grandfather built his first house on a handshake God said come get what you need load it up in the truck go build your house bring back what you don't come tell me what you got and I'll write out a bill so my grandfather loaded up went and got two or fours and blocking cement and all that took it to this place this piece of dirt he built it took back what he didn't use went to the owner of the lumber yard and said this is what I he said okay you owe me this much handshake we're going to build a church here not long and this the Lord will allow it and guess what I know for a fact that 84 Lumber is not at all interested in my handshake Home Depot less in fact they said No Slam against Home Depot but I already know if I go into Home Depot or Lowe's and I probably won't find what I'm looking for nor anybody to help me to know how to find what I'm just saying I didn't get political there I'm just telling you there's many today that are questioning Authority because nobody has the word they're questioning if you are telling the truth or not come on we live in a society today that will accept a lie as soon as anything why because to them truth is relevant to how much trouble it keeps you out of foreign you simply cannot talk about God if you do not know God that's why when somebody can be honest it's okay for a minute transparent for a moment when somebody tells me oh you ain't no Christian you ain't act like no Christian if you was a Christian you'd be doing this and that and I simply look at them and since when are you the one who establishes the definition of Christian well I know what a Christian ought to be oh yeah show me don't tell me I can't hear your words from what I see in you that was free right there Mom and Dad you teach our children be honest and tell the truth and to be right when they stand up there'll be no question about who's working in them because truth is there light is showing in them I'm just telling that's that's something good right there you ought to take home with you no notice how this word changes and does things in us first John chapter 3 19 says and hereby we know that we are of the truth and shall assure our hearts before him for if our heart condemn us God is greater than our heart and knoweth all things can I tell somebody today that God is indeed omniscient he knows everything he knows all things and for us to think for a moment in 2023 that God has somehow washed his hands of society and walked away it should make us shutter and question if that were the case then why did God tolerate so long in the days of Noah God is still working God still had faith in Noah and Noah continued to do what the word of God told him to do come on there's going to be a church in this hour no matter how dark or dismal our world gets there's still going to be somebody that'll say you know what you can believe a lie if you want to you can even believe a rumor of what is truth but as for me I'm looking for truth come on somebody understand the preacher today because you might in the future be placed in a predicament where they're going to say what do you believe if you don't have the truth you got nowhere to stand but if you'll hear the preacher right now if you'll stand on the word of God then ain't no devil around you can pull you off of it and destroy you you may have to go through some stuff come on ask Daniel in the Lion's Den you may have to tolerate some heat ask the three Hebrews got thrown in the pit but through it all there was a God that was in the midst of the fire in the midst of it in the midst of it in the midst of it and when they looked into that fiery furnace what did they say I see three but all I see one that looks like the Son of God walking in that fire what is he saying if you'll hang on the truth truth will hang on to you Our God knows all things everybody say he's omniscient there's a fancy word Hebrews wrote it like this in the book of Hebrews 4 12 the word of God is quick powerful sharper than any two-edged sword piercing even the dividing asunder of Soul and Spirit and of the joints and Morrow and the discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight but all things hear this are naked and open unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do God is omniscient but God is also omnipresent he's everywhere I feel like there needs to be a Revival for our parents in this house of putting this understanding in your children you think you're getting away with some God Watching God knows God knows come on dad you can ask my kids man the Lord will reveal things in such strange ways to me when I was a parent to them such weird ways I don't even know what I was talking about what God was doing was doing her work and I don't even know so you got something to tell me Oh Daddy it is accident oh okay yeah tell me I was saving her soul that's all I was doing come on I've walked in this house before listen to me carefully and the Lord is so gracious to me that I've watched some of you come in here and I could see every devil in hell on your back I could see it with my own eyes I could see all the discouragement all the disgustedness of the world and it's stuff that it's very I watch you drag it in here I could hear the cause of the enemy as he got a hold of you as you walk through these doors I could see it I could see it on you doesn't make you a devil doesn't make you a bad person it makes you somebody that the devil's trying to steal therefore when I stand up here and I say if you'll just worship something will happen you know oh God help me not get sidetracked you know what well I can see when folk come in here and they won't lift their hands up I know why because the enemy's got you bound up I'm here to tell you if you'll put your hands in the air the devil's hold on hold on hold on I got nowhere to hold on to that's right that's right I come to love the Lord he got his claw he trying to wrap you up you want to know what sometimes I gotta do this a little bit why because the devil been trying to I got to get him off of me how he's through worship it's through praising the name of the Lord God I've come to tell you the devil is not omniscient he's not everywhere at all times but my God is there is power in Praise devil turned me loose I've come to worship today I've come to bless the Lord today I've come to magnify the name of Jesus today sometimes I can still feel the claws Ethan and I gotta get him off I gotta oh no you don't I've come to magnify the name 's us today the word says it he is everywhere everything's manifest to him all things are in his eye he knows what's going on you can't hide it from him to the letter to the Colossians 1 16 for by him were all things created that are in heaven that are in Earth visible invisible whether they be thrown Dominion principalior power all things were created by Him hear this and for him he's before all things by him all things consist s he knows all he's everywhere but he is also all powerful omnipotent he can do everything his plan is that he would work in our lives doing anything and everything the point of reference that I've come to mention to you today friend is simply this the word of God that you have in your heart and in your life on your desk in your drawer at home on the coffee table or wherever it happens to be the fact is is that he is that word and if you'll fall in love with him you will love his word and that word will begin to work in you and that word will bring truth to you what our world is looking for right now in this culture in this generation is there anybody that knows the truth is there anyone that will declare the truth I've come to tell you friend every generation before us would stand in the face of our position and have to give an account for what they were doing my grandparents I've said this a million times I'll say it again today they were the ones that raised up tents and had tent revivals they didn't know no better they were the Jesus Freaks they were the Jesus only foe they were driving 10 stakes in the ground tents would come up out of the ground and they'd gather unto what saw dust that they get from the meal and they shout worship dust everywhere bugs everywhere instruments everywhere people passed out on the ground under the spirit of God I watched with my own eyes things happen under tent before that never happened inside a building before and they were called weird and strange questionable even even people would drive by honk their horns I've watched with my own eyes drunks come to the back of the tent determined that they were going to take their wives or their kids out of there and I'm on the front with my parents and look back at a drunk hit the tent and as he's halfway down the aisle coming with a purpose to try to destroy the church I watch with my eyes the preacher stand up there and say stop right there young man I rebuke you in the name of Jesus and every devil you just brought in this house you have no power No Authority here and I watched that man stop in his tracks and I watch him say I cast you out right now you will not disrupt this service and the glory of God smack him to the ground and him lay on the ground speaking in tongues is another language as the spirit of God moved and him get up off the ground covered in sweat speaking in tongues and instead of moving his wife from there he'd come and hug her and say I'm sorry for all the streets that have caused you why because the word got turned into his life and although he wanted to destroy something God meant it for good 2023. do not be mad at preacher today do not be mad at Pastor today everybody knows I love you but I wonder sometimes if there are some who openly invite the enemy to come into the church Debra had a hard week I'm gonna go to the church today I gotta say hi to somebody I got to give them something we'll just deal and tolerate the service but if we can deal with all the noise in the Racket and stuff we'll lift our hands at a certain time we'll do things at a certain time but if we can get through all of that afterwards we can go and we can destroy somebody now I know y'all look at me saying that's crazy that's never a conversation that's had that's the conversation the enemy will never have with you you guys do realize the enemy will not negotiate terms with you he doesn't have to who is the father of Lies all he's got to do is put a seed in your heart and your mind and it will begin to formulate itself and you'll wonder why you can't have joy in your life why nothing makes sense why the confusion's there and why things are falling apart and some of you would even say all hell's broke loose you want to know why because hell has a hold on you and now it's shaking you and it's doing everything it can do to hang on to you is there anybody in this house allow me a moment can you it's it's 120 I got a couple minutes is there anybody in this place that has seen a demonic possession of somebody and watched it as that devil released that person anybody ever watched it lift your hand anybody at all seen that come on lift your hand now with that hand up listen to Pastor lift to keep it up I want you to look at the enemy around you and say devil I've seen how you work I'm not telling you to point to anybody here the enemy might be in this room right now and he may I don't know where he's at my mom she says all the time he's standing there in that corner because that's where I keep him I don't know he might I don't know I can I can I can point to some chairs where I think he's sitting right now but I don't want to get in trouble with nobody anybody seen it pretty wasn't it come on it wasn't a beautiful sister Renee wasn't it elegant sister Lynn wasn't it just cool how it happened sir wasn't it just neat oh that's a beautiful thing devil showed up and yeah it wasn't it what it look like one of you with your hands out what did it look like what vomiting keep going yes a snake what else what hatred what else Messi all the words that you're using right now describing that nastiness of the enemy if you put your hands down thank you or maybe you want to leave it up and say devil I'm right here I've done it once I can do it again in the name of Jesus I don't know keep your hand up if you want to but I know what it's like to look at the devil in the eye some of these young people are sitting in this room think I've lost my mind some of these kids in this room think that I've been watching Netflix series on something like this and that's the only way that I can give response to it some of these young folk in here are wondering what I've been looking at or reading saying that ain't true that don't happen yeah you want to know why you don't believe it because you don't know the word if you knew the words you knew that there would be battles and principalities would be warring but you would also understand that our God has all the power he knows everything and he's got it all under his control he's every place and every moment and any instant stand with me please come on brother Jerome let's give him some hope listen carefully I am convinced in these last days in which you and I are living that there will come a battle to be fought that only the people of God will be able to face you listen to this preacher I didn't give it a denominal name I didn't give it to that name or that Banner or that sign on the door I simply said if you're a person that understands the power of the word of God and you've got the spirit of God working in you through the Holy Ghost and you've been baptized and you are covered in the blood of Jesus you're going to fight some battles in the days and years to come that nobody else has had to fight I believe the church is glorious at the end but it's only going to be because people like you and me are tired of what the enemy's trying to do to people and you're going to walk feet first with the spirit of God in the places that you don't need to be but the way listen you understand what Jesus told them you're going to go to places and you'll be like sheep in front of a wolf you'll go in front of them and they're going to want to slaughter you in fact he uses the word they're going to hate you for my name's sake but greater but greater somebody about to get the word active in your life it's no longer going to be a within and there but it's going to begin to demonstrate itself right now hey you listen to this preacher right now I know that there are battles to be had and I know that in my younger years I would fight them things would happen I've watched the little lady throw men against the wall I've watched some Slither on the ground throwing up Green carpet or a green on the carpet I've watched things happen where they were slithering and the Devil Himself is speaking but I also watch the weapon that was used was the word of God and the devil hated every moment of it and when the word was presented the only thing the enemy could do is back away why because the enemy knows the word the enemy doesn't have to question the word because he did not write the word he did not speak the word that was Jesus therefore if you get Jesus in your life the devil will stand there with hands back that didn't come from them that didn't come from them that came from the one who died on a cross for them that came from the one that laying down everything for them though if I could just confuse them I will if I could just wrap them up I will but I've come to declare to Chattanooga there's a church here that will say the word is able to do the work God's word is the single most important thing in your life today God's word when you begin to look to the word you do not have to be a theologian you don't have to speak Hebrew you don't have to study Greek you don't have to go into any of those things simply read the word read the word just read it and by the power of God's word it will begin to activate itself and and work in your situation I've challenged many families going through trials and tests in their lives in their homes on their job in their health listen just use the word what part of the word it does not matter use the word how many you know that that God can take Leviticus and bless it come on God can take Exodus and bless it you know when I was youth pastor years back of one of the young men I asked this question Sam in the youth service what's your favorite verse and one of these guys thought he was a smarty Bridge just jumped up Exodus 13 and four whatever he yelled out I said I love that verse he said you do I said yes quote it to me well um I thought she was your favorite oh get your Bible read it he's borrowing a Bible he's scrounging around he opens it up here they're trying to find everybody's trying to help him and he just reads it and it's one of the the gats you know unless your favorite man that's mine too he said huh so you understand what that verse says man I just put every bit of holes in his balloon he was trying his best huh you know what that word says right there you know what it means this is so cool that God started a plan that didn't stop with them but when this one began that one it continued I said man there ain't nothing better than to know the promises that God will not die from one generation to the next the young man put his hands in his pockets laid his Bible down he said point taken I'm sorry I said exactly get in the word find your favorite word find your favorite verse it might be Jesus web what does that do for you it lets me know that Jesus has been touched by the infirmities of mankind and is moved with compassion to do something come on it don't matter what it is it's the word it's the word the word of God has the power and the promise and the purpose to do anything to do anything I finish with this why do you think that God gave the command in Deuteronomy to the priesthood you write it you make it as frontless and you bind it you put it on the doorpost when they go out and when they come in when they rise up when they lay down when they're at the table when you're in family time when you're separated there was one thing I need help from somebody who knows this hero Israel the Lord our God it's one Lord and thou shalt and come on help me somebody love the Lord thy God that's the word of God it was talked about it was preached about it was instructed why because if you'll ever fall in love with the god he can deal with all of these smaller Gods insignificant Idols stuff that mean nothing this altar's open right now it's 1 30 on Sunday is there anybody that will come to an altar today and say Lord give me a passion for your word give me a hunger for the word of God give me a desire for the things of God oh God your word knows all it is life and in that life it is light and it shines in darkness come on somebody oh God give me a desire for you let the word work in my life come on this altar's open come on get as close as you can draw as close as you can word of God speak to us today word of God's feature us today word of God speak to us today oh come on somebody Lord I I need you today I need your word to change my home to change my family I need your word on my job Lord I I need your word in my school I need your word Jesus the word of God is quick and Powerful and sharper than any two-sided sword oh come on somebody spend some time loving the Lord yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah oh come on be thankful for it today let God work in your life he says Jesus the word of God's future oh yeah come on let the word work in you right now remove the distraction right now remove the distraction right now Lord help me to focus on the world help me Lord God to believe the word to believe the promises in the word now and forever oh that's right come on Jesus I Need Your word Jesus I must have your word Jesus I've got to have your word Jesus that's right come on that's right God give me a passion for the word the name of Jesus oh come on that's right reach over pray with somebody close to you God raised them all right oh God anoint them Lord Jesus we may God speak into their lives Lord speak into their heart Lord speak into their situation God I pray the name of Jesus Glory yours is what a wonderful name it is come on worshipers come on worshipers let the word be evident in your life through your worship the name of Jesus in the name of Jesus the name of
