Lord you know any day is a good day to be on this side of the grass think about it why don't we just lift up our hands Lord we love you I thank you for another day Lord you are worthy today this is the day the Lord hath made let us rejoice and be glad in it Lord God we come to you once again Lord we need you we need your word in our lives God we need your grace we need your mercy we need your forgiveness cleanse us from all unrighteousness Lord renew a right Spirit within us Lord help us to love you with all of our heart soul mind and strength God we lift you up today for you alone are worthy you said in your word that you must have the preeminence you must have first place in our lives God and we we lift you up Lord and we love you today and we thank you for the Fellowship of the body Lord that we can come together Lord in in a nation that we have freedom to worship you in spirit and in truth God and we thank you Lord and we pray Lord for our nation God that we would live a quiet and Peaceable life Lord and you would pour out your spirit in our nation and you would give us Revival Lord and you would give us uh an outpouring of the Holy Ghost the refreshing that comes from the presence of the Lord and we need you today and we lift you up uh and Lord we want to take these needs to the throne of grace uh we've got loved ones that need you tonight Lord we've got those that are sick uh let's take these names today healing and salvation and provision to buas Lord we pray and lift him up Lord uh Tim Remer Lord James Lord Alisha Lord uh Lauren the Horton family Trinity Bella Lord Oh Lord those that have deaths in their family Lord Comfort them you're the God of All Comfort the Engle family the Dinger D dinker family Edington family Lord you're able to minister to those Lord and and we lift these up to you Lord you know all things Lord we don't understand all things but you know all things Lord but we are to bring our petitions and we are to ask and we are to knock and we are to seek Lord and that's what we are to keep doing and that's what we're going to do Lord and we thank you for it Lord and we praise you for you alone are worthy oh could you just love him from your hearts could you give him the praise that is due unto his name uh he alone is worthy Lord open my mind Lord tonight open my heart to your word uh open up my understanding Lord let the word of God have free course and be glorified among us tonight Lord and we give you the praise and the glory and the honor in Jesus name oh let's just clap our hands unto him tonight praise God praise God praise God Amen you may be seated tonight we want to do a few announcements before we go into the word of God and uh here Thanksgiving we will have our regular midweek service right before Thanksgiving so that Wednesday come on out and feast on the word of God and then the next day you can eat turkey praise God December there will be no Sunday school all month so you will come here for prayer early and then we will start at what is that at noon 12 o'l all right no Sunday School in the month of December Sunday the 22nd will be a regular service don't forget the community Christmas meal the evening of the 22nd and Wednesday the 25th December there will be no service and Sunday the 29th uh there will be the regular service praise God on the 1st of January there will be no service and then on January the 5th there will be the vision casting praise God and there are some other announcements you can see that are on your phone if you need to look or the app or however you want to look you can see the other things that are coming to pass praise God are you glad to be in the house of the Lord amen I'm glad to be in God's house and I want to open up the word of God to you and talk to you about some scriptures and uh the first scripture I want to read is found in the book of Romans chapter 15 and verse 29 Romans 15 and 29 and here in the word of God Paul is talking about the fullness of the blessing of the Gospel praise God and he said this and I am sure that when I come unto you I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ to come in the fullness of the blessing of the Gospel blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord the church is at the position of the time when the Lord will catch his church away the Rapture of the church and the position is Heaven is Waiting for you and blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord here is the church we are approaching him we are approaching what he has designed for each and every one of us uh and we are are walking in the name of the Lord the name of the Lord is a strong tower praise God the righteous runneth there into it and is safe uh thank God for his name but think about that uh we we are coming in the name of the Lord and I come in the fullness of the Gospel you as an ambassador of Jesus Christ you come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ praise God Psalms chap 1 a beautiful portion of scripture blessed is the man that walketh not in the Council of the ungodly nor standeth in the way of Sinners nor sth in the seat of the scornful but his Delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law doth he meditate day and night and he shall be like a tree that is planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit in his season his Leaf shall not wither and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper the ungodly are not so but are like chaff which the wind driveth away therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the Judgment nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous but the Lord know the way of the righteous but the way of the ungodly shall surely perish there is a blessing that comes from Walking with God and and and we've been talking about treasures and and you can have all kinds of treasures in your life and you can accumulate a lot of things but but I've been talking about some precious treasures and if you've got a treasure your heart's going to be close to that where your treasure is your heart is or or wherever your heart is that's what you treasure a and so if it's a thing that is precious to you uh you you you're going to to love it you're going to protect it you're going to uh uh follow through with it and and I want to go past the the thing ing of Earthly possessions or accumulations or building a bigger barn or this or that and I want to talk once again about these Treasures that that are going to be with us all of our life and they're going to Usher us into the presence of God one day the first one I spoke of was the fear of the Lord the fear of the Lord is a very important treasure fear God and keep his Commandments that it's our duty another one we talk about charity out of a pure heart a good conscience and Faith unfeigned but I want to talk to you about the treasure tonight of obedience obedience think about that when you study Matthew 56 and 7 it is almost like a key that unlocks the New Testament teaching when you go back to that and I constantly find myself going back to 5 six and 7 on a consistent basis a and studying it and looking at it and seeing who I'm actually am whosoever lookth into the perfect law of Liberty and continueth therein not just a hearer or a forgetful hearer but a hearer and a doer of the work that man shall be blessed in his deed we look into this perfect law of Liberty to see what we need to measure up to our measurement is not in each other if you compare yourself with one another the Bible says you are unwise because we're all so different and and to to measure ourselves and Paul said that uh to measure yourself amongst each other is not wise uh because God has made us a specific individual with specific talents and he has entrusted into you these talents which he does want to return on them one day and and we we we are to use those uh and whatever our ability is we are to use that for the glory of God and here in the word of God when you begin to study and in the beginning it starts with uh he went into a mountain uh and he sat down up there and the contrast between the Old Testament in the New Testament uh the mountain in the Old Testament Sinai was a mountain they were afraid of the people didn't want to go there oh Moses you just go on ahead and there was darkness and and clouds and and thunder and and all of these things and and don't touch the mountain and and and the people were afraid but then you see Jesus Christ going to a mountain and he beckons the people to come and it's only for those who are willing to climb what I speak to you tonight it's not for those who say well fine that's good and Dandy but not for me you you've got to go after it these are ingredients that are to be a part of your life that you have to go after it maintain them on a consistent basis if you have a car sooner or later you're going to have to do some maintenance on that car otherwise your wheels's going to fall off you're going to burn up the engine or something's going to happen so it takes maintenance it takes changing the oil putting air in the tires taking it to the mechanic to for repair and and that's like the word of God we go back into it to see what does my life align to what do I need to do Matthew and 4 what was he doing he was talking about repentance Jesus said repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand and then he launched into chapter 5 and he began to expand on let me tell you what really repentance is and before I get into breaking it apart uh he began to talk about Kingdom laws and if you wanted a panoramic view he said I you you need to have higher righteousness than the scribes the Pharisees they omitted the weightier matters of the law they did some things and they left out others he said you you got to go beyond that we live in a religious World they'll do certain things and I've got it down to a te but they're lacking in other things the weigher matters of the law what would be weightier matters in our day if we would have put into our language well you need the Holy Ghost you just don't need to accept him as your personal savior you need to be endued with power from on high you need to speak in tongues as the spirit gives the utterance anger and Reconciliation he began to deal with that and the things of of the Old Testament were doing done a certain way uh he begin to bring it closer he begin to talk about these things and we'll try to get into these as we go by maybe next week it could be uh he began to talk about that adultery divorce uh Oaths and retaliation love for your enemies given to the needy prayer fasting your treasure in heaven do not wor worry judging in hypocrisy prayer and the Golden Rule the straight are the wide gate the test of false prophets the saved do God will and then he sums it up with wise and foolish Builders and he said to build your house upon the rock as obedience whoever hears these sayings and doeth them they weren't suggestions they weren't multiple choice I'll just pick oh that one looks good I'm not wanting the others but this is these are things that we need in our lives and these are Treasures that one day I can hand to him and say you gave it to me and look look what I did weeping may endure for a night an example but joy comes in the morning they that sow in tears so shall reap in Joy praise God praise God all right now let's break it apart so he began to talk about these Kingdom laws and and um he began to to deal with things but before he got into the meat of it he talked about the character of the Kingdom poor in spirit you don't hear much about that are you poor in spirit huh mourners oh I'm so I'm tired I've worked so hard I'm a mourner not that type of morning hunger and thirst after righteousness pure in heart so he talked about the character and this is characteristics that represent a vertical relationship between man and God this is all right I need to I need to identify how I am and what is my relationship in this specific thing with God for example example poor in spirit what is poor in spirit it has to do with self-examination it has to do with I am spiritually I'm not spiritually self-sufficient in other words I can't do it on my own I need you I've got a deficit I've got a negative in the balance my checking book is in the negative my account's in the negative Lord I need your Surplus I don't need you to charge to my account my sins that I've done but but I need to to you to help me the Bible says examine yourself whether you be in the faith I got to examine myself I can't be too busy examining you or you or you because I'm going to go crazy because I can't do anything about you you can't do anything but I can examine myself th this is the character of of a relationship with God without me you can do nothing he said when I realize that I really can't do anything unless his hand sanctions it lest his strength is there lest his power is there be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might how strong are you men are are you really strong physically you might be but spiritually our strength is in the Lord praise God we need the power of the Holy Ghost and his sustaining Grace if you are self-confident and self assured that you do not know your needs how can you be helped if I put so much stock in the arm of the flesh if I put so much trust in my own abilities and not trust God I I I'm not a profitable servant praise God my my characteristic your characteristic in poor in spirit is humility to be humble contrite broken Spirit a daily dependence on him that's why Paul said I Die daily what a am I dying out to I'm dying out to what flesh wants to do a and I I I'm giving myself to what he wants me to do in me there's no good thing that you know that's why some has been called it your old stinking flesh The Old Man and L sorry the old lady don't want to leave y'all out but my daily dependence on him to give God his rightful place at the center of their lives God I want to give you your rightful place praise God I saw the Lord high and lifted up and his train filled the temple praise God and what could the man of God do when he saw all that he said woe is me I'm unclean I live in the midst of an unclean people I'll tell you what without his Precious Blood without his name without his grace without his Mercy we would just be all on that broad path leading to destruction but God God who was rich in Mercy with his great love wherewith he's loved us pulled us out of Darkness into this Marvelous Light that what we can shine we were illuminated Hebrews said we were lit up uh for a purpose to shine on as a city on a hill praise God Amen to give God his rightful place not to think higher than one ought to think but to think soberly that every man has been dealt The Measure of Faith everybody God has given you a Measure of Faith and it's up to you to oh Lord increase our faith oh Lord exercise our faith oh Lord uh enlarge our faith oh Lord H help me Lord I believe help mine unbelief praise God one of the characteristics of a poor in the poor in spirit that theirs is theing kingdom of God is a servants Spirit we have been called to serve we've been called to serve one another we've been called to serve Humanity the greatest example if you call yourself a Christian is to follow in his footsteps what did he do he made of himself of no reputation he was made in the likeness of men and he humbled himself uh and he he took upon himself the form a of a servant made in the likeness of man humbled himself and was obedient unto death even unto the death of the cros uh that is a servant Spirit uh that is one who gives himself uh Lord here it is I'm poor in spirit a and I'm going to serve you no no servant is higher than the master you are the master you remain the master I want to serve another example of one that is poor in spirit is a childlike Spirit what did Jesus say don't let them little Ruffins come up here I don't have time for them them little dirt knobbers keep them away from me no he said allow them don't make them suffer allow them we would say oh let them suffer no that's an old word in English meaning allow the little children to come unto me for what the kingdom of God belongs to them praise God and and he went when they begin to argue among themselves who's the greatest why is it about Humanity they they want to bicker and fight who who's going to be number one are we called to who's the greatest who's the lowest servant Among Us you never hear that do you who loves to clean the bathrooms come on who is the greatest the disciples said that and Jesus brought that little child put it down he said un lest you be converted and become like a little child you in no wise will enter in what is a little childlike Faith well daddy said I can have it I'm going I can have it just simple Simplicity humble yourself become as a little child humble yourself as this little child praise God to come you're my heavenly father every good gift and every perfect gift cometh down from above from the daddy of lights are the Father of Lights with whom there's no variableness no shadow of turning he never changes the good gifts come from above it's not these Earthly possessions that we go after but it's those blessings that come from above forgiveness Mercy Grace the unmar favor of God precious like faith my brothers my sisters the church is a wonderful thing at no time does one need to back away from the house of God and the Bible says and so much more as you see that day approaching the day is coming it's getting closer no man knows the day of the hour but I want to be ready and I want to be so doing and working in his kingdom another example example of poor in spirit is a recep of spirit the poor have the gospel preached to them and there's healing and Jesus talked about that and there were those that have the gospel preached they received it and he began to draw them a little closer to truth and the crowds were coming enjoying the fish and the bread it was delicious ious but then he said lest you eat of My Flesh and drink of my blood you'll have no part in me oh wait a minute you want us to be cannibals this is too hard of a saying we liked it when there was the goodies and and all of the benefits and the fringe benefits and all man you know that was nice but now you want us to commit to be a partaker they didn't hang around long enough to really realize what he was saying lest you eat of My Flesh lest you be a partaker of me lest you be endued with power from on high uh let lest you be you receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you and and and and and drink of my uh eat of My Flesh and drink of my blood we we don't physically drink the blood of Jesus Christ but we are under the blood and full of the lamb as they were in the Old Testament praise God let his mercy be upon us let his blood be upon us saturate us with Precious Blood Lord amen the blood as a spotless lamb praise God praise God so they said they turned back many of those disciples and uh Jesus looked around and oh there they go he looked around to the faithful said are you you going to go away also what did Peter say to whom shall we turn thou has the words of eternal life I can't go anywhere else see once you taste of this there there's no other place to go there's nothing going to satisfy you like Jesus can there there's nothing out there that can even or even get close to these exceeding and great and precious promises that God has given giving to every one of us praise God praise God another one is a non offended Spirit blessed are those that are not offended in me poor in spirit Lord it doesn't matter what people do to me I'm not going to get offended Lord it doesn't matter what your word says uh I it's not going to be too hard I'm going to try my best to obey it amen great peace have they that love thy law and nothing shall offend them when you can love God's law with all of your heart soul mind and strength and the peace that passeth understanding nothing can offend you it doesn't matter what comes your way and there are times well it's impossible that offenses aren't going to come the scripture says but woe unto the offender let not us as Christians be offenders to cause stumbling blocks in the path of somebody to cause in the fall but let us be in the recovery business to recover them out of the snare of the devil Amen to ye who are SP uh spiritual the Bible says uh ReStore in a spirit of meekness uh those that have strayed praise God a unoffended spirit and and I find no fault in him the man said in the Bible but he was trying to wash his hands of the blood of Jesus Christ and he could not get them off but I find no fault in him today there's nothing I can fault him if there's anything that I find fault in it is in my own failures inconsistencies and lack of concern and burden praise God mourners the Bible says blessed are they that mourn these are characteristics of a vertical relationship from man to God mourners those that can repent before God those that have the ability to weep In God's Presence can my heart get so cold that it gets to a place that nothing moves me anymore can can it be as the Old Testament say the adamant stone that it is so hard that nothing can penetrate the heart or can it be on the Master's will and he reshapes it clay in the Master's Hand and is soft pliable and you have the ability to weep in his presence those who allow God to break their hearts with the things that breaks his heart and thereby gain his goals for their lives God what breaks your heart if he wept over Jerusalem do we weep over Chattanooga if he weeps for the Lost how often would I have gathered you as the mother hen G her little chicks but you would not why they didn't know their time of visitation thank God that God visited the Gentiles us to take out a people for his name does Chattanooga today do our cities that we live in today do they know the day of visitation what is the day of visitation when God visits amen when there is the times of refreshing that come from the presence of the Lord where there is God standing at the door knocking on Hearts uh saying open up uh where God is drawing on them with cords of love God is caring he loves them amen uh mourners uh praise God mourning has to do with the ability to repent be forgiven and enjoy the resultant change in action and attitudes to grieve over one's weakness in relationship to God's standard of righteousness the more I study the word of God the more I see who I really am and my measurement uh is the word of God and not each other it's not the standard of what someone else thinks or what the philosophies of this day and age that wants to cram it down our throats but it's what the saith the word of God and here he is I want you to be poor in spirit uh and I want you to mourn these are not suggestions these are blessings uh praise God and I believe I'm among people that are blessed and you want to be blessed uh but blessings are not just something well just pour it out God but I'm not going to do anything myself blessings is something that we have to go after blessed is the man whom thou choosest if he chose you uh and it says blessed is the man whom thou choosest and causes causeth to approach unto thee if you are here tonight God CH you uh somewhere back in time God moved upon you uh that you were called Chosen and abiding faithful but he chose you and he caused you to approach onto him uh that you can come boldly to the throne of grace and obtain help in the time of need uh oh if I could understand that at any time I can run to him uh I can go through the the the the the Veil that was rent his flesh enables me to go into the holy of holies into his presence it's not veiled anymore it's not hidden anymore it it's not behind a cloud or or or or something I have access mourners Paul served the Lord with humility of Mind tears and Temptations He said but I kept back nothing he he gave it his all he went through many things tears he said I have continual sorrow for my countrymen he he wept over his people and he preached to them and and he had a thorn in the flesh could the real thorn in the flesh be the fact that he persecuted people and now he's going back to people and he has to deal with that that conscience of man I I wish I wouldn't have done that and I would have learned a whole lot faster sometimes we do things and we regret it and we say I I wish I wouldn't have done it but we learn from the things that we fail and we get back up and and God begins to reshape us and and mold us and we learn to mourn over God that I know it wasn't pleasing in your sight and I want to do it right I kept back nothing Jesus said bring forth fruits worthy of repentance if you've changed there should be the proof and the pudding there should be the evidence mourning blessed is he blessed is he who has forgiveness of his transgressions continually exercised upon Him whose sin is covered the blessing that God can wash away sin that that transgressions can be continually exercised uh and cast into the depths of the sea remove them as far as the East is from the West I I still can't comprehend that how far is that it keeps going or maybe it goes around and it hits back on the back side of the earth I don't know where does it go where's the depths of the sea another said he he said I'll cast your sins behind my back you read about what's back behind there you tell me a repentant Spirit the Publican said God be merciful to me a sinner he beat his heart he mourned over it God give me the ability I've got I'm poor in spirit and I recognize that I really need you and then I can I can mourn over sin and I I have a repentant heart uh and I I not only confess but I forsake it's not just say oh I'm sorry I got caught no Lord I'm sorry against thee and thee alone have I sinned when you realize it's not just about somebody else or this or that or I feel bad because I got caught no Lord I've transgressed your commandment created in me a clean heart renew a right Spirit within me keep me from the great transgression what's that something that would take me out you know in my time I've seen a lot being taken out they died before their time I'm not their judge I don't know I went to Bible school with a lot of them so for whatever reason they got off track this one got on drugs overdose I I could name you three or four or five that I could think of right now drug overdose how can you go from the presence of God and then go down a road but you really didn't intend going down praise God David said my sin is ever before me against thee alone have I sinned thou desirest truth in the inward part the sacrifices of God are broken in a contrite spirit Lord uh and that's what I want Lord uh you desire truth in the inward Parts uh it's not just about the outward uh it's about the inward also there is the Inward and the outward but God wants the inward truth in their inward Parts amen and then he said then will I teach transgressors thy ways is it difficult to really instruct someone or teach a Bible study or or talk to them at work or this because uh you're dealing with some things and you don't have the ability to teach transgressors thy his ways because you haven't dealt with some things in your life and you haven't really learned to mourn over them they that swow in tears shall reap in joy he that goeth forth weeping bearing precious seed shall doubtless come again rejoicing bringing in the Sheep I'm talking to you about precious things that are be in our lives this goes far beyond money Prestige recognition politics whatever you know you could think of Whoa man that's really cool and big these are precious things that you can carry all your life These are Treasures that one day they're going to Usher you into that abundant entrance is it going to be just a little tiny hole there oh maybe I'll make it through there no the Bible says talks about an abundant entrance into the Everlasting Kingdom praise God gets semon's tears were as great drops of blood Jesus in the days of his flesh offered up prayers and supplications strong crying and tears if the great example if the Lord Of Glory if the King of Kings and the Lord of lords if the Ancient of Days who has become the New and Living Way can do this can I not weep in his presence can I not mourn can I not cry over for a lost love one can I not spend time crying out praise God shall not God avenge his elect that cry out day and night I'll give you the answer yes he will speedily when it's when it happens it can be like that it can change in a moment in the twinkling of an eye praise God and that's what God does Amen J the woman washed jesus' feet with her tears and wiped them with her long hair others were busy and cumbered about with many things but this woman came and the albaster Box the precious ointment the anointing for the burial and the woman with tears dripping down on his feet he washed she washed his feet and wiped them with her long hair you shall weep and Lament but the world rejoices the world might be rejoicing and partying and having a big time pleasures of sin for a season but the Bible calls on us to weep and cry but it gave the promise your joy your sorrow shall be turned into Joy it's not always going to be sorrow there's joy unspeakable joy and full of Glory the joy of the Lord is our strength praise God the comforter the God of All Comfort comforts you in all your tribulation and then Godly sorrow worketh repentance not the sorrow of the world there's a lot of Sorrow out there we can deal in life with a lot of sorrow but the sorrow Godly sorrow brings about repentance and this is what we're expanded on we're we're expanded on really what is repentance they that hunger and thirst after righteousness and I hurry on shall be filled do you hunger and thirst after righteousness do hunger and thirst is a sign of Health the physically ill lack an appetite when people Express a need to be taught and they hunger for God's word it is a sign of being healthy I want to be healthy I want to be spiritually robust throwing in the turkey too I like that I believe you do too eat the fat of the land land or lamb which one is it seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you these principles they're in there and sometimes we oh I forgot about that one when we make a decision and we want to do it our way but have you sought him first in his righteousness those who have a healthy spiritual appetite for God's word and the principles received from it uh uh uh and they they are the ones that will be filled praise God when one returns to normal they begin to ask for food when you're really sick uh you might not eat good but when you become healthy you like to eat and I like to eat and I want to be healthy physically but so much more spiritually praise God Isaiah said they if you're thirsty come and drink Jesus said whosoever drinketh shall never thirst it'll be a well in him springing up into everlasting life life praise God it's springing up it constantly Springs up into everlasting life uh he said If any man thirst let him come unto me and drink out of his innermost belly shall flow rivers of Living Water this spake he of the spirit that they that would believe on him would receive uh he said out of your innermost being it's going to flow it's going to affect others you're you're you're your Holy Ghost uh you're you're you're drinking is not just for you people are going to get thirsty when they see you and they're going to want to drink praise God as the heart panteth after the water Brooks so panteth my soul after thee Oh God early will I seek thee my soul thirth for thee in a dry thirsty land where there is no water to see thy power and thy Glory I want to see God's power I want to see the Miracles we need the Miracles we believe it we've talked about it we've sang about it we've preached about it it is we need God's Miracles working in our lives to see this power a and His glory and thy loving kindness is better than life your loving kindness to me Lord your your goodness to me is better than life there there's nothing else as important than as you praise God he satisfieth the long soul and filth the hungry soul with goodness oh are you hungry and thirsty we're going to go shortly into a time of worship and praise are you hungry could you just thirst and and begin to eat and drink as they come praise God we labor not for the meat that perisheth but for the meat that endureth unto everlasting life uh if you want meat if you want bread he's the bread of life uh you can eat of this bread and you can live forever praise God Amos spoke spoke about a famine of the word uh we live in a land today there's a famine of the word there's an absence of the word of God in people's life which has resulted in Starvation one could be really healthy looking but spiritually in the Inner Man they could be Skin and Bones because there's an absent of the word of God shall we stand tonight praise God could we lift our hands and just thank him Lord I receive
