9:00 practices in the middle of the week it's it's a lot of work and these guys do it religiously almost and I'm so thankful for them I want to thank you for being here today you have been intentional about your relationship and your walk with God you've been intentional on taking time out of a day that you could be anywhere else doing anything else and you're here and I am so glad because I've got a word for you today this past week Lauren and I we went camping woo we were in the middle of nowhere we were an hour from like the closest anything uh the closest store was probably 20 30 minutes away and then even that guy had to like do his own delivery like he like it was like it was just I asked him like you take card it was a really dumb question uh should not have asked that question we were out there and I'm just going to tell you guys it's probably not great it's I know I know this is what every every congregation loves to hear is when a preacher up to preach I just spent time out in the middle of nowhere I I you know that God's done something weird right you know he's like H and and and the Lord only knows what's going to happen next uh so this week you know I'm I'm here I'm trying to relax it's not going well uh no service nothing I've got a hatchet let's just say I I spent a lot of time chopping wood I don't know why it was just like that was the first thing I did and honestly I think I did that the whole time I don't know why that was just that was it I was just I was wore out my hands were wore out I was tired but you know what it felt good so I just kept doing it in that time I get to thinking I know made up a scenario and I know husbands this is just don't I know we know what those are but now is not an amen time okay um oh everybody's even scared to laugh I I was working Ive been for the past couple weeks I've been working through a scenario right you you you make up things you you kind of work them through you kind of see try and isolate variables to see uh what changes and what differences can be made and and and try and figure out a solution to whatever whatever problems presented so I want you if you would uh if you would just humor me for just a minute today I got a I got a a couple young ladies few young ladies they're going to hand out pens and paper all right and you're going to write down your deepest darkest secret I'm just kidding no throughout the lesson throughout the the the teaching today and the preaching today I I I I want you to to follow along with me but if you if you can as they're handing this out close your eyes and in your mind's eye just imagine that all of us in this room we are dropped on an island in the middle of the Pacific Pacific Ocean just everybody not the girls handing out paper but you know everybody that can just just imagine this with me and there is no hope of escape this this is we are on this island from now to the end of time and on this we have to solve the problems of society now you see why it's a scenario right you can't solve the problems so you isolate it down in in this scenario we're there we pop up day one how many like going to the beach oh come on hands yeah I my wife loves it at it whatever I go like going to the beach you're like oh this is so relaxing this so not you know why you like going to be there's literally nothing to do you can't do anything you're just stuck you water and sand and like some sort of burs in the sand if you get off the path it's it's terrible I mean it's good it's nice it's fun honey I love going to the beach uh it's it's a relaxing time time and it can be but you're on this island and you have nothing so for the first day till about supper time this is great this is Paradise this is amazing and then you realize there is no store how we going to eat and then those of you fishermen out there going to learn real quick it's a lot harder to catch a fish when you got to eat it that's that's what your family's dependent on to eat you're there day two hunger pain starts to set in kids start getting getting a little whiny a little hungry hey uh when we going to eat I don't know I'm trying to fish but it just ain't working there's no corn here I've got to go I mean we can only eat coconuts for so long day three it's it's rubber starting to meet the road it's starting to say in we're trapped on this island we're here oh no we've got our hammocks up don't have much built we're just there day day three to five we start we start I mean despair some of us breaking down some of us just grin and Barett and you don't know who that'll be until that moment happens yeah I mean I ain't gonna lie there's no coffee I'm I'm be in trouble y'all going to see me break down and cry Lawrence going to be like oh my Lord stop it you know like you're embarrassing me but there's no coffee we are now at the point in this scenario got to figure out what to do we've all got different backgrounds everyone in here has a vastly different background we if I may our moral and ethical compass that we have is going to VAR house to house and if you don't believe me just go visit somebody's house some people are like a no shoes some people are all shoes some people are like what are shoes and we're here and now we're all trapped on an island and we have to figure out how to get along we have to figure out how to build Society how to get past starving to thriving to then building a society a sustainable Society now I know this sounds like what Everyone likes to think about but you take Internet away from me this is what happens okay so sorry here we are we're trying we've we've got our hatchets we start chopping down trees eventually we're going to chop down the last tree and we're going to be in trouble eventually we're going to run out of fish to fish eventually we're going to then what happens we would start separating off into tribal bands it would get to small family units tribal band units and if we were not careful we would get stuck there proofs in the pudding you go to Papa New Guinea right now these guys they are still it's the most undeveloped place in the world same type of scenario happened there they're still in the tribalism in the most undeveloped country because of the Divide between each and every little family that developed they did not have a moral or ethical code that they could agree upon and we can't either see lucky for us the Bible gives us a road map for such a scenario he done this to the children of Israel he pulled them out of tyranny and put them into the Wilderness he put them into the with nothing to do honestly not a lot to eat nothing to drink he put them there and then after 10 days took Moses away for 40 and they're just hanging out wondering what in the world are we going to do how do we if I may Escape our tyranny experience this chaos that we're in and build a society and retain retain our sanctity and I don't think there's that many te's in that word how do we escape our tyranny enter into chaos but then Escape chaos because as they soon found out tyranny was better to have than chaos they it's better that we just never left Egypt is what they said that's what they said said little did they know that God Was preparing a way for them in the middle of that God God had Moses up on Mount Si giving him the Ten Commandments in and and this time the people had fallen into idolatry most likely lud sexual ass before the golden craft they had found themselves with no more Compass law or purpose you see ethics and morals they do not originate within man they don't man can try but man's fallible it doesn't happen there God gave the Ten Commandments the law to the children of Israel to order their steps from tyranny to chaos to order if I may draw this parallel one more time some of us got tired of our sin and we left it we passed through the water we got baptized but then we found oursel with no order and no structure we fell in love with God we fell in love with the things of God if I may we fell in love with the church the church is the bride of Christ it is the feminine its love is the feminine that means we're going to relate to it the way we would relate to our mother it is what we would fall in love with but we still find ourself in some chaos because we have not had the love of the father exhibited in our life the love of the father this is not Father's day but but hear me on this the love of the father is different than the love of the mother the love of the father is masculine it challenges us it calls us out from where we are and tells us to be better it doesn't it doesn't ask us to it's not even kind in it mom's like Oh come on honey dad's like get out there if you watch John Wayne threw him into the water I don't I don't know if I do it or not we'll see the the masculine love of God will bring us out of that chaos okay now we we will look at this and I know I know we are the church the church is the mother of us all and we find love in God but I'm telling you there is there's that that nature of God there there's a reason that there's a man and a woman a mother and a father because we have to relate to God in those fashions in in those manners and so as he gives the Ten Commandments this this is distinct in the context of near Eastern literature and religion it is both theophany and law it is even the exhibition of God's power on the mountain showed to them that God was moving this was the first public for all to see across across genders across races across everything else AC even even people that were not Israelites witnessed the giving of the law God moving on the mount you see the law may have been given before there were laws before I some of you may have learned about the laws of hamurabi I know that's a very common name Ham marabi he was a king and he started those laws very early if you if this then this if you put out somebody's eye they're going to put out another's eye now that that became that was in the law of the Old Testament but he started that before the Old Testament but God's law was above man because hamurabi was a man he was fallible he was not God if we're on this island and I come to to you and I've got a list of rules and I say here this is what we're going to live by you know what someone else is going to do hey I don't like those rules what about these rules guess what it's called Congress it happens every day and we see how unstable that is we see how hard that would be to live to build to build a SA Society on of a moral we can't my morality is not found in the laws of this country all right my morality is not found in the laws of man but when God gave the Ten Commandments as he revealed himself to the whole nation of Israel including non-israelites he said Thou shalt and thou shalt not he revealed himself in the masculine form of love of this is my law you're going to do it or we to enter into Covenant with me this is how you do it you see unto that time human nature had said do unto others as they have done unto you you hurt me you better believe I'm going to hurt you back that's my nature I got in fights in high school I know how that goes that's my nature you shove me you're going to to the ground like we we ain't going to do this back and forth It's you know it's now it's it's done that's my nature my nature and you know what I've seen some of you that's probably some of your Natures too that's human nature do unto others if they have done unto you that's our natural law but the Ten Commandments are Universal the Thou shalt and the you must never and thou sh do cre cre a moral law in which murder theft covetousness cease to exist it goes through and it starts at the very first now they've had you pieces of paper I am going to go through each and every law today time permitting some of them I'm going to go into deeper and some of them I'm going to go into just briefly okay as I write that you can you can make a law one make a note of it but what I would like for you to do is as I'm going I would like for you and and please understand this I would like for you to understand my heart in this to write down areas that you've broken this law are that the laws that have been broken and affected you keep in mind this scenario we're trying to build a society we're trying to trying to build from nothing okay keep in mind so the first commandment these are found in ex Exodus chap 20 verse number one and God spake all these words saying I am the Lord your God and you brought and brought who brought you out of the land of Egypt out of the house of slavery you shall have no other gods before me this radical unique monotheism laid out by God himself propagated the idea that no way should we consider the idea of more than one God he says in another place he says our God or he says I am a jealous God he created us he redeemed us and who would be who would we be to give anyone else or anything else that honor at our own per Peril would we consider giving that Accolade to anyone this is the foundation of our theology Deuteronomy 6 for here o Israel the Lord our God is one Lord he's one God Isaiah went on and said there's none before thee none after thee he wrote this as God is saying it there's none beside thee none before thee none after there is no other God if there is another God then our morality now no longer exists because the mor the morals are f are found in God in his word if we give place to the idea of another God then morals are now not founded in anything at all other than he said she said when we come when we if I may when we are facing someone from a quote unquote different religion we think well this is just the way this is just human nature it's not unless it's lying cheating stealing murdering and taking everything you have that's human nature but the moral compass of God is found in only God himself you shall have no other gods before me verse four you shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the water underneath the Earth he covered everything you shall not bow down to them or serve them for I the Lord your God am a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the fathers of on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my Commandments you shall not make you know the Israelites failed this as it was being written it was so innate in human nature that before God could get that out and get it in stone and get it down to him they had already made a golden calf that golden calf didn't save them that golden calf didn't part the waters and bring them through and delivered them from Egypt but yet they chose to worship something because in their chaos they were looking for something to grab on to in their chaos in in spending the last few days surrounded by Nature I'm convinced that as men and women we live in a metropolitan area and I'm convinced that as we look around we look and see the creation of man and we think oh man made that our houses we sleep in that protect us against the bear I didn't sleep great guys there were Bears I mean it was I came home and crashed all right I love camping but chose to go yeah the the the walls that we build to protect ourselves the AC that is going on right now is defying nature itself because it's hot and I thank God for it the the seats that we are sitting in so padded so nice especially when you get a long-winded preacher up here today yeah the but we're suren surrounded by these man-made things wearing man-made clothes and it's like God did not even create this and we forget there becomes a cognitive dissonance between what God has done and what man has done and we forget that God created us and not we ourselves and and we get lost in it and and it's so easy I just tell you this guys it's hard to find a an atheist that lives in a rural area it's hard because you sit there and You observe the the Wonders and the majesty and you look at the trees that have been there longer than you can even imagine and you look at the hills and you look at the rocks and you look at the Earth that will cry out if we hold our breath you look at these say and you say there's no way that man could make this but we get in a we get in a urban environment and we start looking oh oh look at this skyscraper look at the yeah look at this building look at this AC and we and and it's just a little thing but we make an idol out of it we make an idol out of our possessions we make an idol out of our relationships we make an idol out of our Traditions there's a song said anything I put before my God is an idol I'm not going to sing it anything I want with all my heart is an idol and anything I can't stop thinking of is an idol and anything that I give all my love is an idol I don't know if you've listened to any type of entertainment but it's all about giving all my love to someone or to something it's all about obsessing over something I don't know if you've went to work we want you all today Herb's back there he's supervisor guys everything here you got to give it all today oh man I'm just picking on your herb anything hey can I can I can I make it a little more personal to us today tradition I get it I get tradition I I remember the the worn handles of the pull pit that my grandfather preached over from for some 27 years guess what that could have very easily become a sacred cow for that church very easily but it didn't thank God can I bring it a little closer to home for C some of us not all of us remember the church that we labored so hard for and the tornado that took it out in a split second and you know what I believe that that challenged some individuals walk with God I believe that because of the work and because of the love and because of the investment that there had been a almost an idol made I know the sacrifice I know the tears and the sweat but that church in that building did not save anyone God did amen I like I said I'm going to make it make it home for us just a minute here that I I believe there were some that are no longer with us that could not connect their relationship to God because it was related to a building I know it's hard I I understand that but understand this is God's law against our nature our relationship our jobs our possession even our family can become our Idol none of these things are innately bad but God knows our being and knows how easily it is for us to picture that as our Salvation so that's you shall have no other gods man run out of time aren't we you shall not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain verse 7even you shall not take the name of the Lord God in vain for the Lord will not hold him Guiltless who takes his name in vain now in Sunday school we learned this and I kind of talked about this today in Sunday school we learned you know not to not to just commonly use God's name to not just going around using it as a by word that's treating it as common I think it's a step further I think that when we enter into Covenant with God we take on his name when we are baptized we are baptized unto Jesus Christ and we take on his name if we do that haphazardly if we do that just because it's the thing to do if we do that not seriously going to try and live for God we are taking on his name in vain CH uh verse eight says remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy six days you shall labor and do all your work but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God on it you shall do you shall not do any work you or your son or your daughter your male servant or your female servant or your livestock or your Sojourner who is within your gates for in six days the Lord made Heaven and Earth the sea and all that is in them and rested on the seventh therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy who are we keep the Sabbath day who are we to think we're better than God that we would not need a day of rest there's a reason why I ask for us to pray over those that are working and serving because that's the work of the Lord and in that work I've done it I know this I I I I know that the the work of luxury of vanity the work of of this world of one one man put he said it like this he's a practicing Jew he was talking about the Sabbath and he said that he doesn't do anything that is common he said I won't even go to a ball game because I can do that any other day of the week I won't even he said that that day is for my God and my family it was very very principled about this and I I thought it was good to hear of he said we may we we won't watch TV we may we may play board games we'll do things that we would not do any other day of the week we make it a holy day unto the Lord there's something so important now Sabbath day in the Old Testament was on the 7eventh on on Saturday in the New Testament we kind of they went and worshiped on the first day or the Lord's day because it was when Jesus had resurrected and so we've kind of hung on to that tradition but the principle here is to have a day set aside unto the Lord now those of you that work and those of you that that are here and that are practicing that are doing it doesn't always seem like a Sabbath day but I want to encourage you because I know what a sacrifice it is but I know it is a sacrifice unto the Lord I know what what a pressure it is but is unto the Lord this is the Lord's day and this is the day we will make holy unto the Lord the last six Commandments here so everybody got a got a list so far is maybe we're we're on number five I think these last six deal directly with how to interact with one another so the first are how do we interact with God where to put God first is there any other God no just God then we have to learn how to treat one another we have to learn how to interact with one another very next one says honor verse 12 says honor your father and mother that your days may be long in the land and that the Lord your God long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you this principle is really hard for some of us to take seriously because not all parents have acted honorably however we are not excused from this commandment right we're not you have to work harder at it some it may be harder for them to not have an idol some it may be harder to honor your father and mother now you they may not be in the picture they may not be there's a lot of scenarios here but but the principle of it here the sacrifices made to get you into this world and where you are today should not be taken for granted or forgotten they should be honored you are not here by yourself if you if your parents are no longer here you need an elder a PE not a peer an elder that can invest in you and you honor them by heeding or listening to them I really felt this one guys the internet is not investing in your wellbe that one person will tell you one thing and another will tell you something totally opposite they do not know you they do not know your situation they do not know your nature they cannot effectively speak into your life an elder can the way you honor an elder you honor by listening you honor by respecting their input if you ask for it you better just take it amen not argue I don't know about you but I've seen the voice of an elder go silent because it was falling on deaf ears and that scares me so deeply it scares me so so deeply that an elder could not speak into my life because I wouldn't listen I know I'm going slow here to today guys but I want you to understand this this is God's moral law this is how we build a society this is how we build a life as a child means you are to obey and listen to your parents hearing the voice of the father as a teenager teenag aers means you need to shut up sometimes as a young adult it means you need to shut up sometimes as a middle-aged adult guess what sometimes you just need to shut up too that may not be right coming across the pull pit but I need I need you to hear that as an elder thank you because we need it see life is like you're out in you're out in the middle of an ocean and you have no markers because you haven't been there before but they have and maybe you just need to be quiet and listen that's right all right who else are we going to learn from who else are we going to know how to navigate through life who else is going to speak into us if you're having if I if I may if you are constantly overwhelmed constantly feeling like you're treading water stop what you're doing stop what you're doing and listen to the voice of an elder amen now you got to consider the voice you've got to be selective in it but listen they've been there they've done it God put this here because he knows our nature he knows who we are he knows that we need the voice of an elder in our life he knows what we're likely to do next one some for some of us this one's easier some of us it's harder verse 13 you shall not murder some of us that might be really hard I don't know please don't if You' if you've committed murder I just I just don't I just don't think we want to find out this way don't write that down maybe just make it just put a check mark or something I don't know like just don't let anyone else find out about that because we don't all want to wind up in court okay uh very clearly murder here is not killing and war or self-defense okay it is not just taking a life in in in in battle or if I may someone threatening your well-being it is premeditated murder it is laying in weight to take someone out of anger spy Envy jealousy it is to take someone's life and this is founded not just because it's another person this is not humanism this is godism Genesis 6 and9 or 9 and6 God calls man His Image Bearer he said if man kills another man by man's blood shall his blood be spilled there you go it means man there's going to be a Judiciary System set up to to take that person's life that that that is Noah's Covenant all right that is sealed by the rainbow that is part of the Old theophany Law but God said he takes himself so seriously that God values you not based on you but based on him because you are in His image and in his likeness this Proclamation oddly enough Genesis 6 and9 there's only like eight people on the world according in the world according to the Bible and God's like all right he'd already done this once before with Cain and Abel he's like all right guys we got to set this in Mort here if somebody kills somebody you've got to take them out because they've damaged my image they've stood up against me on the island if I may how long would peace and Tranquility last if I just up and killed Ethan here I know see even he was like what why would you do that everybody else was like yeah I'm just kidding it would devolve into the Hatfields and McCoy that tribalism of his son that's fing to be here be like I got to kill it man killed my dad I got to kill him you know like that just that old weird like Western stuff I don't know know but that would come out God God that's God's image God's likeness the next one verse 14 you shall not commit adultery few things are hurtful or is hurtful and emotionally detrimental to others as committing of adultery however once again the basis of this is not found in because it hurts others it is found in because there is a vow between a man a woman and God they when a man and a woman enter into a covenant with one another they swear before God and are bound by that oath till death do us part it is between them and God if I may I know that this happen happens and I know that violating this Covenant results in Breaking of not only an interpersonal connection but results in an absence from God because of the breaking of an oath that void now it's not permanent that's not it's not what I'm trying to I'm not condemning anyone in this today but it's still an absence because it is a until that Covenant is reestablished with God there is that absence there the only reason if I may God takes it so seriously that we find in in Matthew the genealogy is going through and it talks about it talks about David the son of Jesse and then it talks about Solomon and it if I may it says Solomon the son of basba the wife of Uriah the hittite some 20 maybe 28 Generations later God takes it so serious in fact the only reason that a Breaking of a marriage and I I want you I want you to understand me here okay the only reason that a Breaking of a marriage covenant was was because of adultery and I I might put in parenthesis here abuse abandonment or adultery okay that was that's what Jesus said he said Moses only gave this to you and then still only by the hardness of hearts tenderly very gently hear me hear my heart today do I Broach this subject because I know there are many that have been divorced I know there many families that have been torn apart by this and I know parents and children have all been affected grandparents I know that I'm I'm not casting Stones here but I want to talk to those that that are not married and those that are that are married that that maybe letting the thought of adultery or divorce enter your mind a covenant with God is not to be broken without rep repercussions to yourself and those around you I'm reading this because I I I really feel this guys whatever problems you think divorce will solve you're kidding yourself about will merely spread and hurt those that you love the most there's a reason that God put this there I know it stare it stair stepped young man young woman it's not married you need to take it very serious it is not it I was I was I was in a Bible study not too long ago and I was I was talking to some some teenagers and I said between 18 and 25 we it seems like we make the biggest decisions of our lives right there and we either make really good ones or really bad ones and there is no in between and it seems like as a minister the rest of the life and the life of a minister it's dealing with the decisions that were made between 18 and 25 I may be wrong here but that's just I'm just identifying patterns here young person thinking of marriage is not something you just start tomorrow you take it very serious today if you're at a spot and you're thinking about getting married and you're not at a point of being able to honor your father and mother you need to back up and you need to readjust because they can see some things that you can't see I I if I may I I I wanted to choose these kids because they're so small all right and I don't want anyone to think that I'm trying to marry off anybody all right but Archie is Archie is he asleep he's out okay Archie if Archie and dalen is she in here uh oh and Dal if they were to get married great couple great couple but then they were to separate based or there was adultery in there okay please please understand I chose little kids that way they don't they don't know what I'm what I'm talking about here the the cascading effect that it would have on an island if I may even further T Paul talks about the the the minister being the husband of one wife and being able to order their house you can't effectively Minister on that island to those people if your house is not in order and now everybody's taking sides and everybody's gone this way that way and now we're Easter Island and somebody's chopping down the last tree and we're all going to die there I mean it really happened you see the law you see you see you see why God's law now oh we're 330 million people in the US we don't have to worry about that I promise you that the majority of the issues of of us and of this world are because we have not kept the law that's right as you're writing as you're making this list what have you noticed you've broken some and some have been broken against you okay we're not done you shall not steal it's not hey don't take anything this is not this is not Mama talking this is God our father and he is saying don't you steal Don if you'd been fishing for five days and you finally caught one fish to feed your family and I come and stole that fish be be on me like a Banny rooster all right anybody know what a bny rooster is I mean wide on Rice I mean you'd be all over me and then we would never be able to live close together because that food that I stole that you s that that that moral of food for your child don't let anyone kid you oh they're just oh it's just stuff it's just stuff they you listen I know different cultures do different things I don't care I I don't care because that's my Blood Sweat and Tears and God knows that and he knows what that does you anybody ever had something stolen from you that Ain nothing wants to make you just something still stolen from you and God knows that's in nature and he's doing that for you and he's doing that for others so that we are not at an irreparable point of no return that matters respect Pro the the respect of property is foundational it is not natural but it's foundational in God's moral law not to be political okay there was there was some protester took over a building okay they took over this building on a campus and they're like hey who's going to bring us water and food what what you mean I'm going to I'm going to take my time my effort my energy I'm going to bring no ain't happening today buddy not today all right that you shall not steal now you shall not bear false witness against your neighbor how many you ever been lied on before woo I bet you can tell me exactly when when I was in seventh grade I told some of little kids this morning this when I was in the seventh grade now I was mean uh and should have been beat and all that good stuff and I was but at this point in time I was in school and me and my buddy Zach we' got in trouble for running the hallways every day after lunch it was just just racing down the hallways this day we outsmarted them we're like nah we ain't running today but you know how a hallways Echo and so we like we just like stomped real quick to make it sound like we're running just to mess with the teachers okay now there was this one teacher she said no I saw him running I was like w no I wasn't running she's like no I saw yall no no no you didn't see me she's like no I saw you go to the office and so I went to my seat in the off I'm just kidding it wasn't my seat but and and I remembered at that moment and I remember today maybe I need to write this one down um I remember today that feeling of something as simple as that I didn't care to go to the office just another day at school for me I didn't care to but that feeling of knowing that I was not running and she said I was that bearing false witness woo boy N I didn't I didn't buck up against her but I do remember that and you know what I did in my mind can't trust her how you going to have a neighbor you can't trust how is somebody going to live beside of you and you don't know what they're going you we all know that feeling and God knows what that draw stirs up in others and he knows what that does with us when we're lying he knows okay now this is this is guarding Against Humanity now the very the very last one says you shall not covet you shall not covet your neighbor's house you shall not covet your neighbor's wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that is your neighbors I feel so sorry for some of us that are inundated by all the videos of 20- year olds getting on airplanes and flying off to wherever all the neighbors houses and all the nice cars and all the Gucci this and whatever that and and I feel so sorry because we're in we're inundated with a society that is driven to covet we are it is it is maybe the worst part of capitalism is it thrives on covetousness we covered our neighbor's wife or we covered their car we covered their whatever their house we covered everything around us and we're like oh I I deserve that the entitled generation is not a new generation covetousness is in our nature and it's something we got to very go very very very very steadfastly guard against covetousness now you've got your list you've got it I know I've been going for a few minutes guys and I thank you for your patience on this this is God's moral law it is the love of the Father the epitome of the love of the father do this don't do this you'll figure out why in just a minute just trust my voice if we know that he is God and we trust him we'll get to the understanding of the why but sometimes it takes a minute we've got to learn his voice now I know you're telling preacher you backed yourself into a corner we're in the New Testament we're in the age of grace and mercy and love and and and and this is the church everyone's just good and everything can and we can just do whatever we want to do and and we're happy gol lucky and and and sure live in the chaos that everyone else around you is living in embrace the world and see where it gets you and embrace the lack of discipline and in order and instruction ourselves by God's moral law here is the thing we can become so legalistic in this because this is God's law I haven't backed myself into a corner because here here is here is man's law is do unto others as they have done unto you and then God in the Golden Rule said so whatever you wish that others would do to you do also to them for this ISS the law and the prophets do unto others as you would have them do unto you you stolen from me I'm going to let the I'm GNA let the J judges I'm not going to bring Vengeance and revenge my nature wants to and you know what not to I I hope in that list that you have I hope that those things are under the blood and I am not trying to drag things out understand me here but I had you write down two things or two categories things that you've broken and things that have broken toward been broken that affected you in those categories we suffer from two things we suffer from if you've broken them we suffer from condemnation and if they've been broken against you we suffer from victimization and they are equally as bad and neither will get you to heaven I did all of that to get to this Jesus in John chapter 8 he found a woman or they brought to him a woman he's teaching and they brought to him a woman that was that had committed adultery that had broken the law and even said the law and Moses commanded us to Stone such a woman what do you say he just was writing in the ground in the sand righting and they continued they continued and he said let him who's without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her and then he just went back to doing what he was doing if you don't mind would you stand with me you have a list right here in your hands of things that you've done wrong and things that have been done wrong to you for the perpetrators for those that that have that have broken a law are you at a point that you can ask forgiveness to set those things right are you at a point where you can forgive yourself for the victims that someone lost a battle with themselves and hurt you and left you with scars so deep and so so awful and so terrible and so so ugly because that's that's what nature does does if they're standing in front of you today could you lay the stone down if you don't mind take that paper crumble it up that's your stone today some of you are bound by condemnation and I've seen it on your faces you can't get get past the things that you've done wrong you can't get past the people you've hurt you can't get past the the the oh I'll never be able to witness to that person I'll never be able to and you know what you may not but there is no condemnation in Christ the hardest stone that you will ever lay down is the one to where you can forgive yourself God please forgive me and then we get eat up with guilt oh I've seen it I oh man I've seen it so deeply do we get wrapped up in we've broken the law we've we've broken the very nature and the things of God and and God I can't get past it or we do and then we don't for the victims yours is yours is just as hard and yours is just as wrong it's here because the hurt that they done to you is nothing compared to what's eating you alive right now it is nothing compared to what to you if they were standing in front of you today and you had all the words you wanted to say and you could just lash out and throw them could you crumble them and lay them at the feet of Jesus oh it's not easy it's not easy it's not easy but forgiveness starts here in the heart and we can't go to the father forgiven with for forgiveness until we can lay it down I have no doubt some of those things that you went through some of those laws that were broken some of those some of those families that were torn apart some of those things that were stolen from you maybe it was your innocence maybe it was your future can you lay that at the feet of the father today I know went around the world to get here guys went around the world to get here but I know the importance of the law and I know what it's like when the law is broken when I've broken it when it's been broken unto me and I know the hole it tears in us and I want to ask you with that stone in your hand I can't make you lay it down and I'm not going to but I want to ask it may be too big of a step for you today I don't know I I I I know it's a process okay I don't know where you're at in it maybe you can't bring it to the altar but maybe you you can just kind of set it down where you're at God I'm going leave it there for now don't go run and pick it back up that condemnation I'm going to leave it here now today that's my call for you that's my heart for you guys I've prayed I've studied saw the face of God and I think we got some condemnation and some forgiveness and some victimization to lay down today I may be preaching only to myself I don't know but if you could right now if we could all find a place to pray if we could all find a place to seek God's face God search my heart search the inner most party you can come to the altar if you would like you can kneel where you're at God search my inner being God the hurt that I've done and the hurt that's been done to me God I want to lay it for rest to rest at your feet oh my God oh my God oh my God I need your forgiveness Lord and I need to forgive myself I am sorry for the things that I've done and oh my Lord oh my God I need to forgive those that have hurt me no longer can it tear me apart no longer can it keepi me up at night no longer can it disturb my peace God I lay the stone at your feet no longer can I keep it from from from worship no longer can it keep me from worshiping you no longer can it keep me from serving you no longer can it keep me from accepting the calling that you placed on my life because I've laid it at your feet God before you before them I lay that stone of accusation oh Jesus I forgive myself I forgive others I know they've broken your most hallowed law but I want to do unto others as I would have them do unto me Jesus God I pray Lord I pray God for the most sweet loving kind Spirit to settle upon us today God I pray Lord for the most sweet kind forgiving Spirit to settle upon us today oh Jesus Worthy is your name Lord come on you're doing the right thing Lord I need you Lord I am powerless without you Jesus I am lost without your forgiveness you're the Living God and we need you you we need you Jesus yeah yeah we trust you God our faith is in you Jesus holy is your name how sweet is your name come on ask him Lord show me the way help me find the words help me find the right attitude help me Lord let your word light my path Lord I'm looking for a way God to get closer to you help me help me Lord to know how Jesus I simply come to you
