Chapter number 11 and verse number 29. chapter number 11 and verse number 29 reads as follows see that trouble up his own house shall inherit the wind And The Fool shall be servant to the wise of heart proverbs 15. and verse 27. he that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house but he that hateth gifts shall live I want to preach a few moments today on four things that come to our lives four things that come into our lives in Jesus name you may be seated four things brother Erickson that come to all of our lives number one is trouble can I get a witness Trouble Trouble Comes to all of our lives now to understand how trouble works we must identify the trouble many times as the scripture says that we trouble our own lives we open the door for the trouble Proverbs said he that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind Proverbs 15 27 says he that is greedy of gain trouble with his own house so this is a trouble that is self-inflicted in other words God had nothing to do with it nor the devil story is told to the devil someone walking down the road and the devil was sitting on a stump just weeping and he was asked Mr devil what is wrong with you and he said well everything goes crazy Christians get into they blame it on me you know all things are not something from God and all things are not necessarily something from the Devil trouble can be and is many times self-inflicted we brought it on ourselves we caused the situation it's there's no fault there's no blame game going on we just have to own up to it and that's really the remedy of trouble the remedy of getting trouble out of your life is to own up to the trouble find out how the trouble came in in the first place and then begin to lock the doors and windows so that you don't make the same mistake to invite more trouble into your life amen psalmist said in Psalms 27 verse number 1 David said these words and David is certainly one that troubled his own house the sins of David the sins that David is noted for God did not do it the devil did not do it uh David opened the door and this trouble came in but listen to how David treats trouble he says in Psalms 27 and verse number 1 the Lord is my light and my salvation Whom Shall I Fear the Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid now the first thing David introduces in to his troubled life is light I need to have light in my troubled life because if we don't learn from our mistakes we are bound to repeat our mistakes and complicate our lives so God I want you to know that I want light to come because you are my light and you are my salvation Whom Shall now I fear another thing David says is Whom Shall I Fear there's a lot of people that cannot get out of trouble because they are possessed with the fear of what people think about them well they are not living in your shoes why should you care it is not affecting them one bit the anguish that you're going through why should you care so David just simply says in this Psalm Whom Shall I Fear when the wicked even my enemies and my foes come upon me to eat up my flesh they stumble and fail God took care of my enemies though a host should encamp against me my heart shall not fear the war should rise up against me in this will I be confident he said I'm about to tell you something that I've Got Confidence in he said things begin to change all around me though a host should encamp against me though different things though the enemy he's coming to to eat up my flesh he said I am confident in this one thing some people cannot get out of trouble because they're always fearing what might happen they're always not making a move based on what what what a possibility they will not make a certain move based on a possibility of a move in their life but David said all of this would happen he said but I am confident in this one thing what is it David what are you confident in one thing have I desired of the Lord that will I seek after that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in the temple in his Temple for in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his Pavilion in and the secret of the Tabernacle shall he hide me he shall set me upon a rock can I tell you the remedy for trouble is the house of God the remedy for trouble is the presence of God David said I've got a troubled life David said I have Afflicted myself I've brought a lot of things on but he said let me get into the house of God let me get into The Presence of Jehovah let me begin to see somebody Rejoice let me begin to see somebody sing the songs of Zion for they are God sets me up on a rock can I say if you're watching today television or the World Wide Web can I tell you we have a sign out front we're looking for troubled people so I don't know I don't know if I'd fit in your church pastor Carpenter with those choirs and all those people there can I tell you that many of them were former troubled people and we want troubled people here not that we have a psychiatrist or we have three steps to a healthy happy holy life but we have the presence of God and if we can just get in the presence of God let us have a little talk with Jesus let us tell him all about our trouble he will hear our famous cry he will answer by and by I got news for you I have brought things on to my life but if I could just get in the song service if I can just get in the prayer room the second thing that can that comes to all of our Lives is trespasses trespasses now trespasses you didn't bring it on you didn't bring a trespass on someone trespassed against you they they hurt you someone said hurt s in life will come to all of us hurts in life will come to all of us but bitterness is optional I can't choose I've already been hurt can't even remember back when the first time I got hurt but you don't listen friend you don't know hurt till you've been hurt by somebody that's supposed to love you somebody somebody's supposed to care for you right they trespass they hurt you but you know there's only one remedy for trespass and if you don't do this you're sure to get bitter and friend I'm going to tell you that bitter pill bitterness only destroys the container that it's in that bitterness that you've allowed to be inside of you the person that hurt you many times it went on with their hurtful ways but what you're allowing that hurt to do in your life is causing even more pain and causing even more shame and more heartache there's only one remedy for a trespass and that is to forgive someone said that there's actually one sin that you can't get forgiveness of and that's blaspheming the Holy Ghost if you blaspheme the Holy Ghost Jesus said you would not be forgiven in this world nor the world to come if you would ever blaspheme the Holy Ghost but actually the scripture talks about two sins that you can't get forgiveness of one is blasphemy the Holy Ghost and the other sin is not forgiving a person for Jesus plainly said if you do not forgive men their trespasses against you neither will I forgive you of your trespasses so when I begin to think about God forgiven me and I begin to be transparent with my life and needing forgiveness and there's not a person in this room today that doesn't need forgiveness I find it easy to start working on forgiving someone who's put a dagger in my back someone that's hurt me somehow I've got I've got to forgive them because that's the only answer to a trespass third thing that can come to our lives the third thing that can come to our lives is Temptations there's not a person in this room today that hasn't faced Temptations yeah regardless of how much Holy Ghost you got and how many gifts of the Spirit you got we all face Temptations Temptation somebody said is like a bird flying over your head you cannot control the bird flying over your head only can I control him building a nest in my hair there's a lot of Temptations in this world you have no control over they're there before you're able to think about it because the Devil is a great tempter it's from the Devil the Bible said in Matthew 4 and 1 then Jesus was led up of the spirit Into the Wilderness to be tempted of the devil James says in James 1 13 let no man say when he is tempted I am tempted of God for God cannot be tempted with evil neither tempteth thee any man but every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed then when lust hath conceived it bringeth for sin and sin when it is finished bringeth forth death you see my friend when we say when when we say that we are we are tempted um we have to understand this this is the devil this is his temptations that he brings to us but the answer to Satan's tempting did you notice a little something that James said but every man is tempted when he is drawn away drawn away from what drawn away from the cross drawn away from your brothers and sisters in Christ drawn away from church drawn away from daily Bible study drawn away from daily devotion of prayer the enemy knows I can't put in your head if you are close to the things of God so I've got to draw you away from that that's why you need the antidote for Temptation Of The Devil is to stay close to the Cross stay close to the word stay close to the things of God because he can't trample in a prayer room and he can't trample in when you're reading your Bible and when you get your mind caught up in praising Jesus he can't come with a lot of some someone said I wish we just lived right here at church because I don't really feel a lot of Temptation right here in this room well honey take what you do in this room outside with you keep reading your Bible keep your mind stayed on Jesus and that is the antidote vote for temptation what about the fourth and the final trials trials now I'm here to tell you something trials do come from God trials do come from God I don't care how glorious your conversion God has never saved one man or one woman that he hasn't put on trial Hebrews chapter 11 and verse number 8. simply state by faith Abraham when he was called Hebrews 11 and 8. by faith Abraham when he was called to go out into a place which he should receive for an inheritance obeyed now that's the initial step of salvation by faith Abraham when he was called he was called to Salvation how many remember conviction however remember you know that how old you were where you were at the first time you felt that that gnawing feeling that was Spirit driven inside of you that was God calling you and you obeyed and you submitted to the Plan of Salvation as as found in Acts 2 38 and John 3 5. you you obeyed that Plan of Salvation but it didn't stop there because God has never called anybody to Salvation what he didn't later put on trial the Bible says in Hebrews 11 and 17 it said in Hebrews 11 8 by faith Abraham when he was called but Hebrews 11 17 says by faith Abraham when he was called or when he was tried verse number 17 when he was tried and remember I want to drive that point home because I think a lot of times when we go through trials and things start happening in our lives and it's from God we just kind of go we just kind of can't understand it I wait a minute why me this this is not supposed to be happening to me I'm I'm saved Sanctified filled the Holy Ghost this is not supposed to be happening in my life things things are not supposed to be falling apart in my life I'm not supposed to be going through this we may not say it per se but you know we've all felt it like you're like why me in in light of all the people in the world why me why mine why why is this happening I'm going to tell you why God has never saved called anybody that he didn't later turn around and put you on trial because he wants to try your faith he wants to see how well your faith is and the faith of Abraham was simply this God wanted to know from Abraham do you fear me more than you love your son that's the whole trial do you fear me supremely am I the first place in your life that's a lot of times that's what trials are there for sometimes Trials come to realign us because we can all get out of whack all this world and the materialism of this world can get all of us out of whack sometimes and God brings a trial in our way God lets us know you're not as secure as you think you are you don't have it together as you think you are God brings things into our lives and when God brings those things into our lives we begin to look and say God I'm going to tell you something I see what's important now let me get you to the front of the line God let me get your word to the front of the line let me get your witness to the front of I'm God because I want to fear you above all that I love in my life well what's the antidote for trials what do I do while I'm in the trial you tell me what to do when I'm in trouble you told me what to do when I'm in Temptations now tell me what do I need to do when I am in the midst of a trial first Peter has the antidote first Peter 4 and 12. I want you to see this this morning maybe you're going through a trial this morning maybe you you you you've written it up no way man I didn't bring that on my life I could Scratch Out trouble this morning I didn't bring that into my life I can stretch that out I've scratched out a trespass no it's not that and I've scratched out it's the devil so I've never I've narrowed it down today brother Carpenter this is a trial I'm going through but what do you do when you're in the midst of your trial first Peter 4 and 12. beloved think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is which is to try you as though some strange thing has happened unto you aren't you so glad God wrote this word but rejoice in as much as your member partakers of Christ's sufferings that when his glory shall be revealed ye shall be glad also with exceeding Joy the trial is going to produce glory to God it is going to produce Glory when we suffer with him we shall reign with him we go through tough times with him we're going to go through glorious times with him so in the midst of my trial he said don't think that you're going through some strange thing don't get the it's only me mentality don't get the why me or it's only me mentality you don't don't don't don't fall into that trap but Paul Peter said that the antidote was to don't think something strange has happened but then he said here's what you're to do during your trial rejoice this is what you're to do when you're going through your trial rejoice just rejoice I do believe your trials wouldn't last as long if you learn how to rejoice in the midst of your trial rejoice trace it worship Him magnify the Lord give the lord taketh away blessed be the name of the Lord no weapon that is formed against me will prosper rejoice
