what a fantastic night Friday night was I want to thank this church for being such gracious hosts to our church and our family as we gave our niece and daughters granddaughter all those things away remember when brother carpenter called me the first time about Flannery I said now I want to know I want to brother brother brother daddy I want to know about Flannery I was a poor imitation but I did did my best I said well brother carpenter the you know he said he said how old is she and I said well brother brother carpenter she's 17 he said without a workout great cuz Nolan acts like he's 14 we had a good laugh about that and he said well when's her birthday I said no it's an April said well what day and I said the 18th and I don't know if that was a sign or what but it's great you know you know you really impress people who and I I went to pick him up for the first time we're in st. Louis Lambert Airport and he looked at me and he's like is there someone older is there someone someone older he said I think he pictured me as being older I got that immediate vibe that he was expecting something different oh but what a relationship we love them we love the Erickson's and Hammonds and this whole family what a what an incredible incredible family and and church all of our friends here are so thankful thankful for God's hand upon this church now I realize it is different today and wow what a powerful move of the Holy Ghost that we we had and I'm so thankful to have my son-in-law and daughter and my grandson Leo Cordero preached for us last Wednesday did an incredible job and then of course Nixon we love him we there's nothing like family and especially when you see family working together in ministry it is the blessing of blessings it is the blessing of blessings I wanted to thank brother carpenter for being at and I'm gonna I'm gonna use big words here I'm sure he was shunned at this but being an apostle and a prophet to the One God movement Ezekiel said this he said and they come unto thee as people cometh they sit before thee as my people and they hear thy words they said the problem is is for some they do not do them for with their mouths they show much love but their heart goeth after their covetousness and lo thou art unto them as a lovely song and one that hath the pleasant voice you can play well on an instrument for they hear thy words but they do them not and when this cometh the pass low it will come then they shall know that a prophet have been among them I would listen to the voice of the man of God but more than just being a hearer I know that pastors of this church when they preach to you it's easy to come here and to sit and enjoy but never mistake that the reason that we can come and sit and enjoy is there has been sacrifice and God requires the same of you to listen to the voice and so on I'm thankful for brother carpenter I'm thankful for his voice in our life god bless him now he told me to take my time and you're going to be relieved to know that I preach my stature I'm thankful to have our people from apostolic center here I love them there your mind thank you for coming familiar verse Genesis chapter 32 32 and verse 22 and he rose up that night and took his to wise his two women servants his eleven sons and passed over the forge a buck and he took them and sent them over the brook sent them over that he had Jacob was left alone and there wrestled with a man with him until the breaking of day when he saw that he prevailed not against him he touched the hollow of his thigh and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint and he wrestled with him and he said let me go for the day breaketh and he said I will not let thee go except thou bless me and he said unto Him what is thy name and he said Jacob and he said thy name shall be called no more Jacob but Israel for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men and hast prevailed and has prevailed I want to preach this morning for just a few moments on this subject J Buc J Buc Lord Jesus we love you Lord you anoint your servant to speak in our hearts to receive your word Lord we honor you today we praise you we thank you help us and keep us in the name of Jesus and we give you all the glory now don't turn around the shake someone's hand but turn around give somebody a wink and say I'm glad you made it you survived kovaydin you make it this 32nd chapter Esau is coming he's coming with 400 of his men the servant tells Jacob now he's afraid the scripture describes him as being in distress he makes a choice early in this chapter he said I want you to divide up the family I want you to take some put him over here and take something put him over here and if he saw comes it begins to slay one group the other group can run and flee for their life this is the condition of Jacob it's a long way from when he was coming out of the womb of his mother and immediately he was grabbing heels Esau's heel it was pretty simple for him when I read he saw that Esau was faint when he came in from the field and Esau sells him his birthright for a morsel of meat and then it's not difficult for him either in life to cheat his brother out of his blessing and he gets the smell of Esau and and puts on skins so that he'll feel hairy like Esau is and Isaac being blind blesses Jacob and not Esau it's with that that he gets up and leaves and he goes to Laban 's house and there he finds his two wives Leah and Rachel sad eleven sounds Laban tries to trick Jacob but Jacobs just a better trickster than Laban is now he's come to this place he's come to the time that he needs to go back home and this is the setting the man that he has cheated and tricked is coming and he raised himself up and that night he goes to Jay back to Jay buck and there he is alone what does Jay buck mean but the carpenter alluded to it early this morning I was afraid he was going to preach what I was gonna preach today Jay buck means it means emptying it means the pouring out Jacob had finally come to the place in life even though he was filled with all kinds of stuff and had all kinds of relationship the day had come now it was time for Jacob to face who he was and he had to come empty before God I'm gonna tell someone here this morning half full won't do half empty won't work if we're gonna come to God we've got to come to the place where we empty ourselves I know we were to have a move of God this is the toughest time to preach I'm gonna tell you something you gotta come to that place where I'm willing to sell everything else aside I love my family today my beautiful wife my children and my grandchildren I'm thankful for the house that I live in and God has blessed me I think God I got a vehicle that I could drive seven hours and 18 minutes to get here this week and be here and stay in a nice room and feel comfortable but I want you to know when it's all said and done at the end of the day I'm not taking any of those things with me one day I'm gonna stand before God empty handed and God is gonna look at my life and make a decision he's gonna say my good and faithful servant or depart from me you worker of iniquity all of us are gonna come to the empty place you got to come to the empty place your degrees don't matter your job doesn't matter your 401k doesn't matter your pension plan doesn't do you any good there came to J Buc it was emptying and he was left alone he's left alone there was no one to trick there was no one to supplant there was no one to get one over on he was left alone face to face with himself I'm telling you it's not only emptying but realizing everybody's got to come to the alone place we see Jesus John looked at him and said behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world and then we see him feeding the 5,000 then we realized it at 7 disciples that he sends out and they heal the sick and then we find him with the twelve in minutes the three I'm gonna tell you what even Jesus had to go take a cemani alone everyone swaps not gonna be about who's around me and what's going on I've gotta find that alone place with God and say look I said I may have fooled everybody else but I'm not fooling you this morning I've got to come to that alone place I gotta come to that empty place where I pulled out out alone alone with yourself and your decisions alone with the choices you've made you chose your sin and now you're living with your consequence that's an alone conversation the Bible says that he wrestled he grappled with a man I got to look a little deeper at that you can tell I was not built for basketball I mean this is actually the one pulpit besides my own I can actually see over when I go preach somewhere else we built for it you think I'm built for football think I'm not build for anything other than what's close to the ground call leverage I brother that was 13 months older than I and I learned how to rustle everyday there was a fight I learned how to wrestle and Jacobs wrestling with the man now I'm just showing it look what I got today I'm trying to get I'm not preaching off some iPad this morning I'm gonna give you what the Lord gave me today he wrestled he grappled but you know what the meaning is deeper than that and I don't mind anybody uses an iPad very wrestled with the man when you look at that that one is a little deeper you other means it means to get in the dust we would call it this way Matt soon he gotten the dust up that's when there's knees and elbows and a cloud of smoke he was in the dirt in the dust up rustling with an angel but really he was wrestling with himself his flesh remember man was made from the dust of the ground and Jacob had come to the place I'm taking everything else away I'm here by myself with you God and I've got to get this flash under control this person's gonna spin somewhere in eternity and judgment it's just down the road he chose coming I gotta get right it was the desktop and he was wrestling with it our flesh is an issue listen folks that don't come to church folks that don't give the way they need to give live how they need to live you know what that man preaches you know what that's not a revelation problem that's a will problem that's a flesh issue welcome to announcer it's a flesh issue because you got to get that flash up and make it submit to the spirit and what happens is we get carnal how do I know if I'm Colonel I'll tell you how you know the Bible tells us the first thing that a carnal nature a fleshly nature is is it isn't selfish nature it's all about me if it's all about you they didn't sing the right song they didn't have the right preacher preached somebody didn't shake my hand when I walked in the door I'm still mad about what happened last week that's childish I'm gonna hold on to my stuff I'm not giving anything to God I'm not leaving it at a buck I'm gonna hold on to a childish nature the second thing is it's a binding nature you want to know if you're fleshly are you bound up this morning wasn't easy to pray when the pastor asked us to pray was it easy to move to the front worship and lift our hands or do we find ourselves bound Lord said this my spirit shall not always strive with flesh some kinda it's not going to always happen we're in a look Jacob was in a flesh battle we are in a flesh battle are we going to submit to God today and allow this flesh to become into submission or are we gonna hold onto it put up Romans chapter Romans chapter 6 and verse 19 once you put that on the screen I didn't give it to you but here we go it's always nice when you got a big screen see how bald I am I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh for as he have yielded your members to servants members your servants to uncleanness and to iniquity and iniquity even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness this flesh can come into submission I can do it when I pray I can do it when I worship I can do it when I walked into my workplace I can do it when I come into the house of God hallelujah what are you gonna give this to Jacob son I'm dead in my own way for a long time but now I'm faced with the choice the Bible tells us that the angel had not prevailed and not prevailed my thought is the Jacob hadn't reached a place of surrender of character there are angels in this house they were in here this morning in fact I feel I'm here right now and there is a paddle bishop alluded to it's spiritual warfare that's taking place and the battle got so difficult that the angel touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh scripture says the sinew dried up the thigh went out of joint now I have always heard it preached when that thigh went out of place Jacob held on and rustled he was in a dust-up and then the angel said let me go for daybreak if now I've heard that preach knit several times that that angel had to get back to get orders you know from the Lord he couldn't stick around during the date that you think that God is actually worried about our time clock this wasn't about the angel getting back this was about Jakub facing his esau on that day this was not about the angel this was about jacob i want to tell someone this today it's not about the angels that are here this morning it's not about the presence of God that feels own time and space but what the Lord sent me here this Sunday in Maryville is to let someone know you're running out of time did you hear what I said the day is breaking the day of judgment is upon us and rather that's the rapture of the church our God would take us at some moment here with this preacher saying I'm almost done but here when I'm saying today it wasn't about the angel the angel was saying Jacob I've rested all night and you haven't surrendered yet how many times is God gonna deal with you how many times does that man our God gonna preach to you how many times he gonna bring some evangelist in to work on you I'm telling you I cannot help the feel the day is breaking and not many angels are ministering spirits and that ministry spear was I said I've wrestled with you and I presume with you and I fought with you I love done everything I know to do our prop pain in your body and you still won't surrender how bad does it have to get you still won't surrender days breaking its 1142 the days breaking someone said I'll make it right tonight I don't know figure out tonight I'll make it right next Sunday we don't know if we I'm telling you I feeling the Holy Ghost right now the day is breaking and somebody said I'm not gonna let you go and tell that's all right go ahead and sit if you want to go ahead and just count this as another Sunday and brother carpenters doing me a favor oh no no no no the hand of God is in this house right now God is reaching for you come on let's reach out to the Lord musicians can get ready to reach out I'm not done but I'm hammer you see you said it earlier he had no idea what I was going to preach this moment was for you this it was more than a moment it was a service for you there's been a dust-up going on in this whole service there's been a wrestling match with your flesh and will I'm not talking to the 80% that came down here I'm talking to the 20% that God's them trying to get a hold of you and God tried to shake you would let go finally the angel of television what is your name any son Jacob I'm a crock I'm a sinner I'm a trickster I got nothing else left if this doesn't work out there is no plan B I'm at a if this don't work out for some you there is no plan B I'm reaching for someone today that was perfect that was in the will of God because did you just feel that moment it's called a pause every time I'm no English scholar that's why I married my wife her majors in the English language every time you see a comma there's a pause he's a pause what's your name my name's Jacob we just had a pause in the service because God is fixing to do a change and if God gives someone the message and I believe you had it you just didn't say it you can say it the spirit of profit is subject to the profit but while the pause is here this is what he said tell me your name he said my name is Jacob he said thy name shall be called Norman Jacob , pause but Israel for your prince it's the pause in the Psalms we call it the Selah baby many would say of my soul there's no help for him but God puts the poles in there a sealer in there are coming in there says but the Lord are sealed for me my glory and the lifter of my head Psalm chapter 4 he said o ye sons of men how long will you turn my glory and the same how long will you love vanity and sink after Leasing but there's a pause in scripture there's a comma a Selah but know that the Lord has set apart him that is godly for himself and the Lord will hear when I call upon him God has given us a pause today I know I know what so God's God's God's just giving up on me God God's forgotten enough no no no no no no no no he sent a little preacher 5 foot 570 none of your business to preach you this morning it's for you he said I'm gonna take a pause out of your life and I'm gonna change the message in the name you may have been unfaithful but now you're gonna be faithful you may have been evil but now you're gonna be good you may have been lazy but now you're gonna work in the kingdom there's a pause moment his thigh did shrink sister covet I've been writing poems to our church so I wrote a poem today Jacob rustled and his thigh shrank no one to support him on either flank as Jacob he had no rank with the angel he said I'm the cheater he was quite frank you can take this to the bank this morning I won't leave here with a check that is blank I wrestle and I fight like a Sherman tank I'm not living anymore in my stank are you tired of it are you tired of just getting by are you tired of just showing up on Sunday morning and that's all you do you know God's got a bigger purpose for you than that you know that God's hands on you and you got a God calling standing all over this building every head bowed every eye closed with all the conviction in which I can say it I'm telling you if I have felt a god moment it's right now every head bowed every eye closed I wonder if you be honest with the Lord and the preacher this morning and say I know I'm not where I need to be by the lifting of your hand with no one else seeing it lift your hand and say I know I'm not where I need to be 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 - 1 2 - 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 God speaking to you mr. Erickson mr. Hamlin we got to sing to him this morning we got to sing to him we got they gotta sing to him this morning when a wrestling match you got to sing to them today come on now you lifted your hand you know there's more than you come on sirs come on man I don't know what you're used to in Maryvale but somebody needs to come to an altar right now you need to step out and say you know what I'm done I'm it's over I'm I'm crossing Japheth today I'm I'm leaving it all behind I'm gonna empty myself out come on come on come on come on live show your hand don't stand back now come on don't let pride get in the way come on come on come on I reach it come on now remember the Lord saw your hand I saw your hand you gotta move right now right now right now don't wait don't wait don't wait don't wait do it come on come on come on grab somebody look at the person next year shake I'm going to the altar come on look at him tell them salud the altar come with me if you don't need to cry and come and pray with someone we need to move out of our seats we need to step out
