it's long since gone but I will speak to the young ministers that are here despise not the day of small things I really loved it when I was a young preacher and they introduced me by saying now let's help this young man preach that term young man I came to understand in Pentecostal ranks meant it covers a multitude of ignorance but after a while they quit calling me a young man and I began to feel pressured that they have me here because they expect to hear something and that pressure of privilege is very very challenging I've come to understand and I believe from the very soul of my life that the United Pentecostal church has the greatest preachers in the world I believe that and although I've been preaching since I was 18 years old and I've been privileged far beyond my deserving such as my privileged opportunity today to stand in such environments and what people would call venues to preach I never cease to be incredibly overwhelmed by the mercies of God and the kindness of his people and I can tell you that I still have in my heart a deep seated reverence and respect for ministers of the Gospel on every level of experience God bless you I could take a lot of time returning my really necessary responses of kindness toward all of all of you even in as I was introduced today by your district superintendent I'm humbled by his kind words and what a great District this is what a mighty church this is I'm going to be privileg to say some things tonight so I'll say more about the church this evening but I would like for you to give a great big hand clap for the great preaching and teaching we've already heard it's been phenomenal when I announc the title of my message today I would plead with you you not to leave give me a few minutes might be well if we lock the doors until I get a chance to explain what I'm going to be preaching Luke Chapter 4:33 Luke Chapter 433 and I thank God for the scheduling of impact this week it came in a most beautiful time in my life we are moving into our new home and pany at home unloading boxes I said I got to go preach God's calling me to preach and so I escaped a lot of those boxes my back has been aching it's been a great joy and I again I want to say how much I appreciate the response of the United Pentecostal Church to what looked like a tragedy but really was a great Triumph God has been so good to us and thank all of you for your prayers your concerns and your gestures of love Luke 4:33 and in the synagogue there was a man which had a spirit of an unclean devil and cried out with a loud voice saying let us alone what have we to do with thee thou Jesus of Nazareth Art Thou come to destroy us I Know Thee who Thou Art the Holy One Of God I want to preach today on the subject the unclean spirit in the synagogue the unclean spirit in the synagogue before we approach the word would you put your Bible down and give the Lord a great big hand of Praise we are blessed blessed blessed blessed blessed and everybody said amen God bless you you may be seated since the Bible states that good understanding giveth favor how many of you have prejudged people prejudged circumstances negatively until you were made to understand and then you took a totally different opinion of the situation the Bible teaches us that we should pray for understanding as well as wisdom with that thought in mind that good understanding creates favor I do want you to have your favor upon the word of the Lord as I preach these next moments so I would like to ask you to allow me to do as my daughter would of ask me and say to me as a child when we were going somewhere or doing something I'm still hung up on children's words I I love to talk to children I I love the vocabulary that they have and the way they say things when we were headed out of the yard Christie would often say to me when she was just a little bitty girl Daddy what are we going trying to do what she really want to know is what's up where are we headed she' say Daddy what we going trying to do so I want you to allow me to express just in a few moments of introduction what I'm going trying to do in this message this afternoon my passion and purpose in preaching this message at this time and in this place is twofold number one to comfort console and confirm our Apostolic Ministry that I see that many are un suffering from unduly and undeservedly questioning and punishing themselves relative to some in their assembly rejecting and resisting the preached word I want to set our preachers minds and hearts at ease you need to quit beating yourself up about preaching the word of the Lord secondly I would like to calm the confusion relative in the hearts of saints Desiring to defend the indefensible in sympathy posturing themselves in silent nonsupportive roles of their pastor we have entered the spiritual age of the last days described in Matthew 24 and 10 by these biblical words the scripture reads and then many shall be offended that is exactly where we are in America today and many shall be offended describing an unprecedented hour of thin skinned people both in the world and even in the church as one has said the answer to thin skin is not th skin but dead flesh I want a spotlight this afternoon the foundation for a powerful productive and Progressive Apostolic Church all of us have gathered here to learn to do more to be more to be informed and to be inspired so we can grow churches that will bring glory to God and reach our perishing world it is not merely finely tuned program PRS trained choirs or impressive effects the two most determining characteristics of a great Apostolic church is this number one an authoritative anointed Apostolic preacher in an unfettered pull pit and I can tell you today that in all the venues in all the places all the conferences where I've been privileged to preach nobody has ever told me what to preach or what I could not preach you need to thank God for an unfettered pull pit in the apostolic church today because it is powerful the second thing is a a believing receiving and responding after Apostolic assembly to the word of God if you want to grow a church that's two things you got to have an anointing Apostolic unfettered pull pit and a church that doesn't get mad that doesn't get offended but rallies behind the anointed preaching of the word of God I still believe in the power of apostolic preaching I still believe it's the greatest part of church I still believe everything else is preliminary till we come to the word of God I feel like saying something here I might just leave out but there's a liberty in this house it was everybody say many years ago my wife was traveling with me preaching since then I think she's kind of quit traveling with me but I was preaching a certain place he asked me to come preach and literally before it was time for me to preach they had a choir concert they sung for about an hour and a half and then they asked me to come preach well when the choir left the platform they went out in the foyer with their robes on and they had glass windows back there and doors and I could see the choir in the forer and if brother Cornwell was here he said something started in my feet if you know brother Cornwell that's his patented statement it starts in his feet well something started moving in me and I said I sat here for an hour and a half and I cried when that choir wanted me to cry and I rejoiced when they wanted me to rejoice and I ain't preaching one word till they get back in here I watched my wife over there she's maybe that's why she quit traveling with me I think Pentecost needs to be reminded that we are preachers and this is a preaching church and that we are blessed by Apostolic Ministry and nothing is greater than preaching Matthew 18 and 19 the Bible reads again I say unto you you that if two of you shall agree on Earth as touching anything that they shall ask it shall be done for them of My Father which is In Heaven There is nothing more powerful on this planet than the agreement of an Apostolic preacher and an Apostolic Church where there is an agreement between the pulpit and the Pew anything they ask shall be given them of the father there is no limit to what God can do or will do for them and through them where there is unity in a church now immediately when we read this text our minds Rush madly into the unprecedented dimensions of perversion of this hour we imagine the filthy vile demonic devilish darkness of sin's atrocities however the unclean Spirit of the synagogue identified and described by he who is perfect truth truth he who did not have the gifts of the Spirit but was the spirit he was truth and in him was no deception or error he described this unclean spirit with three words let us alone I rise on the authority of what he said to preach any spirit in the church that says to the man of God to the the word of God or to the spirit of God let us alone is the spirit of an unclean devil it's not just confused good people it's not just good people that don't quite get it Jesus said if they say let us alone that's the spirit of of an unclean devil the true Spirit of a saint of God will plead please preacher don't slack up don't back up don't let up because they know the value the significance and the necessity of the preached word in their lives I Rise to repeat and remind to you today God hath chosen through the foolishness of preaching to save those that believe the hope of the church in this compromised confused world is a clear Clarion call of an anointed appointed Apostolic preacher I wish somebody would shout preach it preacher I said preach it preacher the noisiest part of our church should be preaching the most jubilant part of our church should be preaching the most celebrating part of our church should be preaching because that's how God Saves Believers not discussions not round taes not question and answer but somebody stepping into a pull pin and saying thus saith the Lord the day of Pentecost profiles the power and the productivity of preaching on that great historic day before preaching 120 receive the Holy Ghost after preaching 3,000 120 before preaching 3,000 after preaching I say to be Apostolic we need to preach preach preach preach preach preach preach preach and I'll tell you something else I like I feel such a liberty here today wo I noticed recently that the unique part of Pentecost is this they were unified before they got the spirit and when Peter stood up to preach the Bible said in Peter standing up with with the 11 it should never be that an Apostolic preacher stands alone when he's preaching the word of God every preacher in the house needs to stand with the anointed preached word of God as never before let the record show we stand with our pastor especially when he's taking going to stand on the issues of Doctrine Doctrine when he preaches one God we ought to get on our feet when he preaches acts 238 we need to get on our feet when he preaches that without Holiness no man shall see the Lord we need to get on our feet my patent and statement that I've used for years maybe that'd be a young Minister here that hasn't heard it I say it again it is impossible to be right with the master and wrong with the pastor it is impossible to be right with the master and wrong with the pastor I don't care how many mentors you got that agree with you you need the favor of your pastor you need the anointing of your pastor you need the blessing of your pastor I wish somebody would affirm that right now and I tell you what if you ever quit evangelizing and become a pastor you'll get on your feet to that kind of preaching Hosea 12 and 13 the Bible says and by a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt and by a prophet he was preserved it took a prophet to get you out it will take a prophet to keep you out there is never a spiritual Dimension where we are no longer in need of a man of God in our lives I lost my pastor recently and what a great loss it was brother Wayne mlan the greatest man of God I've ever known in my life great man of God clap your hands and bless his memory prophet of God people have made statements about where I preached and what I've done I stand to tell you today he is my Prophet my Prophet my pastor and I'm not even qualified to carry his Bible his church never reached the numbers of ours he never preached on the platforms I've stood on but I'm I'm here to tell you today he a greater man of God than I'll ever be in my life don't ever think you can outgrow or outp spiritualize your P I'm probably preaching to some in this audience today who are presently in desperate need of a supernatural move of God I'm referencing Deliverance healing the answer to a passionate prayer Revival whatever it may be I you may be praying fasting trying to believe but let me add one other characteristic and consideration to your list of spiritual posturing to possess your promise it's found in the story of the healing of the 10 lepers without doubt or without debate Jesus could have merely spoken healing to them and they would have went on their way rejoicing but he chose them to send them back to the priest the reason in my mind is the priest was the last person they saw before they left the community to be confined to a lepers colony and they are the first one to be seen if they were to ever be able to return I want to pause to say that in passing if you ever choose to leave the church the last person you will see is the preacher and if you if you ever decide to return the first person you will see is the preacher I believe Jesus told those lepers to go show themselves to the priest simply to test their attitudes toward the one that had diagnosed their leprosy declared them unclean and demanded they leave the community Jesus wanted to know how will you respond to the negative message to the undesired to the unpleasant far from what you wanted to hear he took you out he separated you I want to know are you bitter are you mad do you resent him I want you to go show yourself to the priest and the Bible said as they went as they went I'm telling somebody if you just change your attitude you could get a miracle right now if you had just changed your attitude toward your pastor if you had just change your attitude toward your minister you probably could get a miracle right now Hannah was misunderstood and mistreated by Ministry read the story one place it said the prophet marked her mouth someone has said said that perhaps he slapped her because he thought she was intoxicated she said don't regard me as a a one of Beal he totally everybody say totally misunderstood and mistreated her the ministry had misunderstood her mistreated her but she refused to allow it to murder her miracle and eventually she cradled the desired child through controversy through conflict and contradiction by two things submission and consecration if you feel like a preacher's done your own you can still get your miracle if you will submit and consecrate history may have never recorded the main event on the ticket because really there was two battles that took place that day in the valley the main event of the evening was Goliath versus David it could be build as the fight of the century the champions of the ages gathered in the valley Goliath and David but before David David could have gotten to the main event of the evening he had an even greater battle to win it was eliab versus David before David could win the victory over Goliath he had to win the victory over eliab before he could conquer Israel's foe he had to overcome his family I just want to tell you never ever underestimate the fact that not everybody appreciates and understands the anointing on a giant killer 1st Samuel 17:28 notice and eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men and eliab's anger was kindled against David David had come to defeat the giant and eliab was mad and this is what he said why camest thou down hither the first thing you got to know is when you step out to kill the giant your motive is going to be questioned why are you here then continuing he said and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness what he was saying is get back to your small flock don't try to do something special You Belong with that little few sheep don't try to all of a sudden become a superstar in the church I'm telling you there's always going to be voices to try to push you back to your few sheep but God's got victories in your future that he wants you to build from your few sheep he misunderstood David's motive and he totally misread David's heart cuz he said I I know what's going on with you I know what's going on with you you got pride and you are naughty you are a bad boy you've got pride in your heart and you are a bad guy before David could ever conquer Goliath in the valley he had to overcome the negativism the criticism of his family this is a hard thing for me to say but I'm going to say it and put it in your mind for consideration I've been in this movement a long time and I can tell you what we struggle with we want everybody to do good but not too good we want everybody to do good this is like everybody that's going to preach to this conference is thinking oh God bless brother bounds God bless brother Hunley but not too good right right brother Massie is right here yeah I want him to do good but but God not too good come on folks we need to take the lid off of our prayer for our brothers and sisters and say build a church that's greater than the one I pastored have a greater Revival than I've ever seen be a greater preacher than I will ever be so as you posture yourself for your Miracle pray fast believe but let me add one more thing submit to men Ministry submit to Ministry Luke 238 and9 and when Herod saw Jesus he was exceeding glad for he was desirous to see him of a long season because he had heard many things of him and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him then he questioned with him in many words but he answered him nothing herod's hope to see a miracle was met with a rare moment in the miracle ministry of Jesus because Jesus did not even respond to a desire for a powerful manifestation of his miraculous Ministry the Bible said he answered him nothing the reason Herod had killed John and Jesus will not perform miracles for preacher Killers Jesus will not perform miracles for preacher Killers if you want a miracle you must preserve promote and protect the revered respected and rare gift in your life which is the gift of a man of God any spirit that says let us alone Jesus said is the spirit of an unclean devil years ago a precious Minister friend of mine about my same age he told the story of how that when he was a teenager his whole life his dad styled his his dad styled his his hair the father's hair immaculately every day the boy said in all my life I had never seen one hair out of place with my father my whole life every morning when I saw him his hair was perfectly set styled his dad was a member of the board of this large church and this young man was 13 14 years old at this time and he said I don't know why to this day I can't explain it but he said my my pastor was preaching and my eloquent and elegant dad was sitting on the front row board member and he said the Pastor for some reason while he was preaching he just walked over to where my dad was and this is what he did and he said I just stared at my father because I I never seen him like that and I couldn't understand why the pastor did it and he said my dad never offered to straighten it up my dad never offered to put it back in place he said my dad just stood when church is over family went out and got in the car and we went home my dad didn't say anything about it that night my dad didn't say anything about the next day he said 'I waited and waited for something negative to come out of my father's mouth I waited and I waited for my dad to rail on the pastor who does he think he is to do this to me what in the world call that's not God why would he do that I'm humiliated he said for the rest of my life my dad never said a word about that but he said what my dad and the pastor didn't realize was I was struggling with my desire to live for God and to answer a call to preach but when my dad submitted in humility to my pastor I said I want to serve God I want to give my life to God I want to dedicate my life to the Lord because I know that my dad is re and I know that this is genuine because if anything would have made him mad that would have made him mad I'm telling you right now people are not so much carried away with how much you speak in tongues or how many Visions you have or how many dreams you have or how fast you run around the church what they're looking for is can you submit yourself in humility to the ministry can you submit yourself to the man of God can you humble yourself that young man pastors a huge Church in the apostolic faith today but he said the thing that caused me to turn the corner was a father who didn't say let me alone it was a father who said I don't know why you're doing this but you're a man of God and I know there's got to be something real here he didn't know his son's Destiny was hanging in the balances musicians while you're sitting at the supper table you better be careful what you're talking about because your kid's Destinies may be hanging in the balance when you're on your way home from church you need to be careful about what you're talking about because your children's decisions about serving God God and being used of God may be hanging in the balance let's all stand without doubt I'm preaching to some young men today this is how close you are to your Miracle brother Carney would you come you're probably this close to getting that miracle ministry you want Pastor whatever you tell me to do I'm going to do it I'm going to submit myself to you my pastor called me on number occasions I'll give you one illustration I came back from a call of the times that brother Mangan had preached so much on soul and he had me so fired up I came home from from that meeting and I called him and I said I got an idea I want to run by you he said what's set I said brother manga just preached on Soul winning I am under conviction so strong I I want to teach Bible studies more Bible studies I can't travel all over the place and preach conferences and stuff and teach the Bible studies I want to teach and I know God could use me because we've done this in the past I want to teach Bible studies I don't want to travel anymore I want to stay home teach Bible studies he said that sounds good but no you didn't ask to be put where you are God opened these doors to bless Ministry you let somebody else teach those Bible studies and you keep doing what God's got for you to do yes sir yes sir yes sir yes sir and I'm standing here privileged to preach today because I always told my pastor yes sir yes sir whatever you say sir I know nobody loves me like you love me did you hear that nobody loves you like your pastor loves you nobody really has your best interested heart like your pastor has Jesus said go show yourselves to the priest and as they went some people could start walking down to this this altar right now with a repentant heart toward feelings you've had toward the man of God in your life maybe it's not verbal but it's cold it's silent War it's a cold war in resistance in rejection to the voice of the man of God in your life I want to remind you it's not a small thing don't ever tell your pastor leave you alone because that is the spirit of an un clean devil there's probably some relationships that need to be healed here today I'm calling for men that are under 40 years of age and young ladies that are under 40 years of age there is a real Spirit of disrespect in this world right now for Ministry and some are thinking they can get around their Pastor they can bypass him but remember Jesus will not work miracles for preacher Killers if you really want the blessing of God on your life you need to step forward today and make a fresh commitment I'm going to submit my life to my pastor I'm going to consecrate myself to the man of God that's in my life and when you do you're headed toward a miracle ministry you're headed toward the blessing of almighty God in your life because any spirit that says let us alone is an unclean Spirit of a devil I like for The Elder ministers it would season ministers come lay your hand on these people if your pastors here today and you need to make something right with him you need to go to him if he's not here today when you get home you need to renew your submission to him you need to renew your consecration to him you need to renew your dedication to him C any spirit that says let us alone is an unclean spirit of a
