And so I want to read two verses of scripture in your hearing today. Found in the Gospel of Luke. Very Luke would write that the Lord said, "Simon, Simon." Why don't Why don't you just say "And the Lord said" and speak your name? Would you do that? "Yeah. Behold, Satan hath desired to sift to have you that he may sift you as wheat." Be tragic if that's where it stopped. It's not just the foundation, it's the I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not. And when not if Let me tell you today, you're going to Let me say it again, you are going to Satan wants you, but you're going to make it because greater is he that's in When thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren. I honestly do not feel qualified to preach this to you today. So, I'm going to simply preach to me. And if God talks to you while I preach to me, you just let him work. God, I need your help. The assignment that you have given me today, I feel so unqualified for. I know that I work for you. I'm not trying to find acceptable words for your people. I want my words to be acceptable to you. But, I need you to anoint my words that they would be receivable and received by your people. In me that is in my flesh is no good thing. I ask today that you would move me out of the way, that you would hide me behind the cross, and that today things that are attacking the minds of believers in this house and around the world today, Satan's desire to sift them as wheat, that they would escape the trap, and that the stronghold would be torn down. We will be careful to give you all the praise. You think you couldn't just give You may be seated here in the presence This This picture it's framed and in my office. It's really not a picture. It's an old-time revival flyer. I would say there's probably if any here that would know or recognize the man in this picture, it would be but a handful. But this is my great-grandfather. His name was Sylvester McNeely. He was a great evangelist. He was a church planner. He helped many many churches in Southeast Texas where I'm now privileged to pastor. Port Arthur area Beaumont, Silsbee north of Silsbee. And in

I think it was 1977 if my memory serves me correctly. Before I was born and then he would preach it a couple more times. But my Uncle T.G. McNeely would preach a message about this man entitled Trophies In preaching that message, he would talk about what a trophy is, how that it's something that is very rare and very valuable. My Uncle T.G. was Texan through and through and he loved to hunt. He loved to fish. And he talked about how that every hunter and every fisherman is not just looking for something average but that he spends years lots of time cultivates traps learns how to work the right lure so that he doesn't just get something that everybody else can get but he gets something that he can put on the wall and display and over and over again rehearse the story of this is how I caught that or this is how I tricked that animal to come in against its better judgment and was able to make the right shot. He talked about how a a trophy is something that the story and telling how it was taken and displaying the game was really more fun to do than the actual pursuit of the trophy. He talked about how the trophy was the exception and how to get a trophy you had to outsmart it. You you had to be diligent. Everybody say diligent. You had to be diligent about studying it because a trophy did not become a trophy by biting at every lure that passed in front of it. It didn't grow those antlers that a man or woman would desire to hang on their walls by being careless and reckless, but a trophy was something that had protected itself and valued what it was and was on guard, but in just one moment of weakness when the right thing appealed to its true desires and appetite, how that the the hunter, the pursuer, the fisherman was able to snag and then display and talk about, "Look what I have." It It's It's something he would say that has to be tricked in some kind of way, deceived, and it has to be caused to make a mistake that is against its better judgement. And that really the only way any trophy ever makes a mistake is by the pursuer finding a way to appeal to the desires and nature of that which it is after. A lot of time and money goes in. We're in Arkansas today and there's a lot of people from other places. There's a There's a lot of hunters and fishermen in this house. A lot of money that's been spent. I just out of curiosity this morning, I Googled how much annually is spent pursuing a trophy, and Google relayed to me that a a just really I couldn't believe it was this large. A a sum of million dollars are spent annually pursuing trophies.

And that that revenue is expected to exceed 3.2 billion over the next few years indicating that as long as there's a trophy, As long as there's prey, there's going to be a pursuer. He would he would end that message by telling the story of this great man. How that as a child he could hear my great-grandfather travailing and praying in the Holy Ghost in a small little clearing behind their little country home. He said one day he happened to walk out there and he found the stump that my great-grandfather would kneel out to pray and tears had smoothed the surface of that coarse and rough wood. He was a powerful man. He was a powerful preacher. He was a man of great faith. But he would tell the story how that the more powerful he became and the more sought after he was and the more valuable he was in the movement. Matter of fact, he became an official in the Texas district, the secretary and treasurer camp meeting preacher. And in a moment where he had a wounded spirit, he let a seed of bitterness take hold. And by the time it was over, my Uncle T.G. with tears coursing down his cheeks would relate that the last time he saw his father was at Christmas when he had a little gift that he wanted he sought out where he was and found him in a dark room of a small tavern southeast Texas. And how that he was no longer the the man that had once stood boldly and defiantly in pulpits. There was no longer any dignity about him. He didn't walk in the room and everybody pay attention. Matter of fact, WHEN HE FOUND HIM, he he would describe the tattered hat he was wearing, the worn-out coat that was on his back, the shoes with holes in the soles that were on his feet. He walked in and he said, "Dad, I I got something for you and if you'll come out to the car, I'll give it to you." AND HE DESCRIBED HOW THAT HIS FATHER would get up from that table and push back that bottle and stumble and stagger his way out to that car to receive his gift. My Uncle TG would take out that small package and he would hand it over to my great-grandfather and he said he just kind of casually looked at it and didn't say much. He said, "BUT THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN TEARS BEGIN to stream down his cheeks and he took that gift and set it aside and he rolled up the sleeves of that old tattered coat. HE SAID HE HELD OUT HIS ARM AND HE SAID, "TG, I would give every drop of blood that is flowing through these veins for just one more He said, "JUST TO FEEL THAT FEELING THAT ANOINTING THAT IS indescribable and irreplaceable to flow over me. I would give it all." MY UNCLE TG WOULD TALK ABOUT HOW THAT SOMEWHERE IN THE HALLS of hell

there's a display room and hanging in that room was his father, my great-grandfather, and how that the imps and the demonic beings would walk by and would point to that AND SAY, "LET LET ME TELL YOU HOW WE GOT THIS ONE. Let me Let me tell you he he was powerful. HE WAS MIGHTILY USED OF GOD. HE He He was A MAN AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART AND WE HAD BEEN STUDYING FOR A LONG TIME. WE WE WE TRIED A LOT OF THINGS AND AND IT DIDN'T WORK, BUT BUT WE WE GOT HIM SOMEHOW CONVINCED THAT that preaching was more about performance than paying the price to be powerful and he got to where he could just kind of do IT ON HIS OWN AND HE THOUGHT he was getting by, but what he didn't realize is we we were appealing to his nature that was coming back alive because he was no longer crucifying it and HE WOULD TALK ABOUT HOW THAT THAT WITHOUT DOUBT THE ENEMY WOULD MOCK AS THE the adversaries would pass by and if IT WAS IT WAS LISTENING TO THAT STORY THAT THIS message just began to burn in my heart and and it WAS BECAUSE HE SAID THIS. HE SAID TONIGHT HE'S PREACHING AT TEXAS DISTRICT CAMP MEETING AND HE SAID TONIGHT HE SAID I HAVE THREE brothers here who are mighty men of God. AND HE SAID I PRAY I PRAY I pray THAT THE STORY OF OUR FATHER is never told about us. I'M I'M ON THIS SIDE OF HISTORY LOOKING BACK TO THAT POWERFUL MESSAGE TROPHIES OF HELL THAT WAS PREACHED ON THOSE GROUNDS AT TEXAS DISTRICT CAMP MEETING that night. AND WHAT COME TO ME KNOWING THAT ONE OF THOSE BROTHERS THAT WAS IN THAT CONGREGATION IS NOW MOUNTED SOMEWHERE BESIDE HIS FATHER. And it COME TO ME THAT WHEN WHEN THE ENEMY SIFTED SYLVESTER MCNEELY, HE DIDN'T WASH HIS HANDS AND QUIT TRYING TO SIFT. BUT THAT TO THIS VERY DAY SATAN IS STILL SIFTING. AND I'VE JUST COME TO PREACH TODAY BY THE HELP OF GOD AND I'VE COME TO TELL YOU THAT SATAN IS DOING EVERYTHING HE CAN TO DESTROY YOU. CAN I TELL YOU NEXT TO SYLVESTER'S MOUNTED PICTURE AND NEXT TO C.R. MCNEELY, THERE'S A PLAQUE THAT'S GOT MY NAME ON IT. THE HEAD SPACE IS STILL EMPTY TODAY, BUT THE ENEMY IS STILL TRYING AND HE'S DOING EVERYTHING HE CAN TO APPEAL TO WHATEVER PART OF MY NATURE HE HAS TO APPEAL TO BECAUSE HIS DESIRE I'M GOING TO TELL YOU I LOOKED ON THIS PLATFORM LAST NIGHT, BROTHER MARKS, AND I SAW TROPHIES. I SAW YOUNG MEN. I WAS PRAYING FOR SOME OF THEM AND I I PERSONALLY FELT THAT GOD WAS GIVING THEM THE GIFT OF FAITH. I FELT THAT GOD WAS GIVING CALLINGS AND AND AND AND GIVING POWER AND THEY WERE GOING TO WALK IN DOMINION AND AUTHORITY AND THEY WERE GOING TO BE KINGDOM BUILDERS. AND I BEGIN TO WEEP KNOWING WHAT GOD HAD PUT ON MY HEART BECAUSE WHEN GOD DID THAT, WHAT HE DID WAS HE PUT A TARGET RIGHT ON THEIR BACK. AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE ENEMY SAID, "YOU TO HEAR ME, YOUNG MAN. IT'S MORE THAN JUST A SHOUT ON MONDAY NIGHT AS YOU'RE FEELING THE ANOINTING. BUT, WHAT YOU DID IS YOU POSITIONED YOURSELF IN THE SIGHT OF THE ADVERSARY. HE'S GOING TO DO EVERYTHING HE CAN TO APPEAL TO YOUR CARNALITY. THAT'S WHY YOU'VE GOT TO BE SOBER. YOU'VE GOT TO BE VIGILANT. SILICON VALLEY'S NOT THE ONLY ONE

NOW, I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT THE THE THINGS YOU SHOW YOUR NEIGHBOR. I'M TALKING ABOUT THE THINGS THAT YOU GO to your history and delete hoping nobody AND IT MAY NOT HAVE GOT YOU YESTERDAY. AND IT MAY NOT HAVE GOT YOU LAST WEEK. I WATCH these singers and musicians. Matter of fact, Brother Jennings, you're one of my favorite and to me more impressive than what you do on this platform is today before you ever had a microphone in your hand while somebody else was singing. You were standing over there and you were dancing and shouting, had your hands lifted, and talking in tongues. IF YOU CAN ONLY SHOUT WHEN IT'S YOUR HEAVEN'S NOT LOOKING FOR PERFORMERS, HE'S LOOKING FOR WORSHIPERS. BUT I CAN TELL YOU WHAT HELL'S LOOKING FOR, WORSHIPERS THAT HE CAN TURN INTO PERFORMERS. HE'S LOOKING FOR SOMEBODY THAT STARTED PURE AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE RIGHT LAST NAME AND THEY CAME OUT OF WEST TEXAS, BUT GOD GAVE THEM THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY GOT ON THE RIGHT PLATFORMS AND HE WANTS TO TURN THEM INTO PERFORMERS AND IT'S BECAUSE HE KNOWS THAT IF I CAN GET THEM TO GO FROM WORSHIPPING TO PERFORMING, I CAN EVENTUALLY GET THEM JEALOUS OR BITTER OR ENVIOUS AND I GOT A LITTLE PLAQUE AND IT SAYS DAVID JENNINGS ON THE BOTTOM. AND IT'S GOT THE DATE I STARTED TRACKING, BUT IT HAS THE DATE I'M GOING TO FINISH. AND WHAT I'VE COME TO TELL YOU I JUST FELT SO BURDENED I couldn't get Came up here last night and never left till About 6 Some prayer warriors from FPC started walking in here. And I'm going to tell you the atmosphere shifted. They were praying in the Holy Ghost. They were talking in tongues. You You could SENSE THAT THE ANGELS HAD STARTED STIRRING their wings and was moving about and setting things in order for what was going HAPPEN HERE TODAY. WHILE I WAS ENJOYING THE ANOINTING THAT I WAS FEELING BECAUSE OF THEIR PRAYERS, I FELT SO IMPRESSED, SO IMPRESSED, TO TELL YOU, PRAYER WARRIOR, IT'S NOT THE MAN THAT HOLDS THE MIC THAT IS THE ONLY TROPHY, BUT IT'S THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE THAT HOLD UP THE MAN THAT HOLDS THE MIC. AND AS LONG AS WE'VE GOT SOMEBODY COVERING US IN PRAYER, IT MAKES IT EASIER FOR US TO RESIST. AND SO YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND, IT'S NOT JUST MEN ON THE PLATFORM THAT HE WANTS TO SHIFT, BUT IT'S PEOPLE IN THE PEW YES. YOU MAY THINK IT'S A SMALL THING. IT ISN'T A SMALL THING. IT ISN'T A SMALL THING PARKING UNATTENDED, HAD YOUR PONCHO ON, DIRECTING TRAFFIC IN THE RAIN, HELPING PEOPLE GET TO THE HOUSE OF GOD, ALL WITH A SMILE ON YOUR FACE. YOU KNOW WHAT THAT IS? THAT'S A TROPHY. THAT'S A TROPHY. THAT'S A TROPHY. THAT'S SOMEBODY SERVING THE LORD WITH GLADNESS. AND IT'S SOMEBODY THAT SATAN IS WANTING TO PUT ON A PICTURE AND POST ON A BULLETIN AND HAVE SOMEBODY PREACH ABOUT. I WISH I HATE THAT I LOST MY GREAT-GRANDFATHER, BUT I WISH I WISH IN LOSING him he would But he got my daddy. He got my mama.

Cuz if something don't happen, he's got I'll never forget I'll never forget I was thinking about those things and Bishop I said if the only way the Apostle Peter escaped the sifting was to have God manifested in the flesh God himself Brother Marx, pray for him. Then what chance do I have? I MEAN THOSE WORDS DIDN'T EVEN GET OUT OF MY MOUTH UNTIL THE ECHOING VOICE OF THE APOSTLE PAUL WRITING TO THE ROMAN CHURCH IN ROMANS CHAPTER 8 began to thunder in my spirit. THE SPIRIT FOR WE KNOW NOT WHAT WE SHOULD PRAY FOR AS WE OUGHT BUT THE CAPITAL S THAT SAME GOD THAT WAS ROBED IN FLESH IS NOW TABERNACLED IN ME. MAKETH INTERCESSION FOR US WHEN WE GET TO THAT PLACE OF GROANINGS AND MOANINGS THAT CANNOT BE UTTERED AND HE THAT SEARCHETH THE HEART, THAT HEART THAT IS WICKED ABOVE ALL, THAT HEART THAT IS DESPERATE THAT NO MAN CAN KNOW, THAT HEART THAT SATAN IS TRYING TO DRAW SOMETHING OUT OF. OH, I FEEL LIKE PREACHING. SO THAT IT CAN BE SIFTED. IT'S SAID THAT SPIRIT IT DOESN'T MAKE INTERCESSION THROUGH YOU. IT MAKES INTERCESSION FOR YOU. AND I THOUGHT, THIS IS WHY YOU'VE GOT TO PRAY UNTIL YOU PRAY IN THE HOLY GHOST. THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE TO TALK IN TONGUES EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE. THIS IS WHY YOU MAY HAVE SHOUTED AND DANCED AND TALKED IN TONGUES LAST NIGHT, BUT WHEN YOU GOT UP THIS MORNING, THERE WAS AN ADVERSARY AND HE WAS LOOKING TO BUT JUST LIKE HE PRAYED FOR PETER IN THAT GARDEN, HE IS STILL MAKING INTERCESSION I DON'T UNDERSTAND ALL THIS BUSINESS, YOU'RE TOO SPIRITUAL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND ALL THIS BUSINESS, YOU'VE TALKED IN TONGUES ONCE, YOU DON'T HAVE TO TALK IN TONGUES AGAIN. CAN I TELL YOU, EVERY TIME THE ENEMY RUSHES IN LIKE A FLOOD, I HAVE NO DEFENSE ON MY OWN. I NEED THE SPIRIT TO RAISE UP A STANDARD. HEY, THIS IS PENTECOST. THIS IS PENTECOST. THIS IS PENTECOST. YOU GOT TO PRAY TELL YOU WHY YOU GOT to pray till you I'm going to tell you why you got to Because he's still using the same Be seated. Can I tell you what he uses more than anything? Is he tries his best to put us against And he gets us fighting with each other until we have hard feelings that turn into bitterness that turn into hatred that turns into attempt of murder. AND HE GETS OUR EYES OFF OF WHO THE REAL adversary is. Because Peter didn't just STOP AT BE SOBER. BE VIGILANT. NO DOUBT WHILE HE WAS SAYING THAT, HE THOUGHT ABOUT THE DAY, BROTHER MARKS, AND THEN CONFRONTED HIM IN HIS CARNAL NATURE, IT AGGRAVATED HIM. CAN I TELL YOU IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW LONG YOU'VE

BEEN PREACHING OR IF YOU NEVER PREACH, YOU NEVER GET ABOVE THE WORD OF GOD THERE IS NO SENIORITY IN THE KINGDOM OF I CAN JUST SEE BROTHER ROBINSON IS THAT DAY HE REMINISCED ABOUT THE APOSTLE PAUL WITHSTOOD HIM AND MAYBE IT GOT TO GETTING AND EATING AT HIM. WHILE I'M PREACHING IN JERUSALEM, HE'S PREACHING AROUND THE WORLD. WE'RE PREACHING THE SAME GOSPEL. WE'RE ON THE SAME TEAM. WE'RE TRYING TO GET PEOPLE THE SAME PLACE. AND HE SAID, "YOU GOT TO REMEMBER IN BEING SOBER AND BEING VIGILANT, YOU GOT TO REMEMBER WHO THE ADVERSARY IS. IT'S NOT ME AND IT'S NOT YOU, BUT YOUR ADVERSARY BUT pickering and murmuring and fighting from within. CUZ YOU KNOW WHY? YOU MAY NOT HAVE EMBRACED THE REVELATION, BUT SATAN KNOWS. SATAN KNOWS DOCTRINE. THOU BELIEVERS, THERE IS ONE GOD. THOU DOEST WELL. THE DEVILS ALSO BELIEVE. SATAN KNOWS THE DOCTRINE. AND HE KNOWS THAT OUT OF THE SAME FOUNTAIN CAN'T COME FORTH BOTH SWEET AND BITTER WATER. AND HE KNOWS THAT THAT COMMUNITY THAT YOU'RE IN, THEY NEED A FLOW OF A RIVER THAT'S PURE, BUT IT CAN'T FLOW OUT OF YOU LET ME LET ME JUST IF IT MUST YOU BE SEATED, I'm I'm hurrying. I'm trying to hurry. You you you got to realize it IT MUST HAVE IT MUST HAVE REALLY ate on him those feelings and it must have took him a little while BECAUSE BECAUSE HERE BACK AND FORTH YOU SEE PETER AND PAUL IN THE WRITINGS AND THE APOSTLE PAUL WOULD PICK UP THE PEN writing to the Galatians, AND HE SAID, "LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THE LAW. ALL OF THE LAW IS FILLED IN ONE WORD. IT IS FULFILLED IN THIS, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF. BUT IF BUT IF BUT IF BUT IF YOU BITE AND DEVOUR ONE ANOTHER, TAKE HEED. TAKE HEED. TAKE HEED BECAUSE YOU WILL BE CONSUMED ONE OF ANOTHER. AND THIS I SAY THEN, HERE IT IS AGAIN, YOU GOT TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT. YOU GOT TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT. YOU GOT TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT. YOU CAN'T BE CARNAL ON MONDAY AND SPIRITUAL ON TUESDAY AND CARNAL WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY AND I ACCEPT AND TRY TO SHAKE YOURSELF. NO. YOU GET THAT SAME ASSURANCE. NOT IF, BUT WHEN. BECAUSE BROTHER WILLIAMS, HE SAID, "WHEN YOU WALK IN THE SPIRIT, THAT'S WHAT THE real law was, Brother Urschel. Thank you. IT WASN'T A THOU SHALT NOT LIKE YOU BETTER NOT. BUT IT WAS A THOU SHALT NOT. WHEN YOU GET THAT SPIRIT ON YOU, IT'S NOT YOU BETTER NOT MURDER. IT'S THAT WHAT I'VE GOT ON THE INSIDE IS GREATER THAN ME, AND I SHALL NOT MURDER. I SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY. I SHALL NOT FORNICATE. I SHALL NOT GOSSIP. I SHALL NOT BACKBITE. I SHALL NOT BUILD ME A SOAPBOX ON FACEBOOK AND DEVOUR THE CHURCH. I SHALL NOT I SHALL NOT I SHALL NOT I SHALL NOT FULFILL THE LUST OF THE FLESH. BUT BROTHERS AND SISTERS, THE ONLY THING I HAVE FOUND IN THE WORD OF GOD, WHICH IS ALL THAT MATTERS, THAT KEEPS YOU FROM FULFILLING THE LUST OF YOUR FLESH,

HE SAID, "DON'T BE IGNORANT OF HIS DEVICES." Thank you, Brother Tuttle. He wants you to start questioning, "Did I've watched I've watched preachers sadly, Brother Holmes, fall that's I've also watched preachers fall It's because he never stops He don't He don't get everybody the same way, but he gets everybody with the same thing, Young man, young man that was on this platform last night, for Demas, it was not that he didn't love God, but he was more in love with this I'm going to tell you you can love God and still be mounted in those halls somewhere. With tears, Pastor Holmes, running down his cheeks, he was still declaring his I'll never forget meeting people at my father's funeral. And I won't to bring any embarrassment to my family's name, but I remember meeting people at his funeral that says we was sitting in so-and-so bar and I got to telling your dad about my trouble and my problems. And he reached over and pushed that bottle back away from me and said, "I'll tell you where your answer is. It's not sitting here on this stool, but about a half a mile from here at 1211 and 1/2 South Main, And everything you're looking for, you can find it there. He loved God. But somewhere, SOMEWHERE, HE DIDN'T QUIT LOVING GOD. He may maybe Oh, MAYBE MAYBE HE JUST THOUGHT, "WELL, I'LL I'LL I'll I'll I'LL BRING MY KIDS TO PRAYER meeting and let MAYBE I'LL LET THEM BIBLE QUIZ AND I'LL I'LL I'LL LET THEM DATE SOMEBODY THAT'S NOT IN THE FAITH. NOT THAT THEY DIDN'T LOVE GOD, IT'S THAT THEY LOVED THE WORLD, TOO. AND THE BIBLE SAYS NO MAN, NO MAN, NO MAN, NO MAN CAN SERVE TWO. AND LET ME TELL YOU WHAT ELSE THE BIBLE SAYS, THAT OUR GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD. AND BEFORE HE'LL COMPETE FOR YOUR ATTENTION, HE'LL GIVE YOU TO WHAT YOUR DESIRES ARE. EVERYBODY TALKS ABOUT IT WAS MONEY AND IT IT IT it it it had it had something to do with money. But it also had to do with a spirit that's sweeping Pentecost. That called raw authentic worship waste. YOU KNOW THE KIND WHERE tears were flowing AND YOU TAKE THAT BOX BROTHER HOLMES AND BREAK IT AT HIS FEET AND YOU DON'T CARE WHAT ANYBODY'S THINKING. THAT'S WHAT JUDAS' PROBLEM WAS.
