allow you to be seated in just a moment i give honor to pastor and sister carpenter pastor sister erickson pastor and sister uh carpenter again um brother noel and sister flannery i love our family and thankful for our leadership amen second kings chapter number two as you're turning there we're going to read verses 1 through 14 so i need you to bear with me as we read this i give honor to my wife if you continue to pray for my youngest he's still sick this evening i'm thankful for my family good beckham has just recently turned five and i mean just thankful for the lord and always keeping his hand upon us amen as pastor x has already said i if this is a message tonight i feel like the lord has weighed on me i will preach to our students tonight in a form of vision casting but just to encourage to challenge you of what i feel like could happen in 2021 if we could apply just a few things from what the lord has given me this evening i without a doubt believe that the lord's going to allow us to get back into the flow of everything amen we are going to have strong tower we're going to have we're going to have youth to treat in just a couple months i'm believing that and uh we're planning to have youth night this uh last saturday of this month and i've already got a few messages on the youth account of some some new students that are coming to youth night and we're just excited to get back in a rhythm and get back in a groove amen second kings chapter number two and it came to pass when the lord would take up elijah into heaven by a whirlwind oh what a sight to see that elijah went with elisha from gilgal and elijah said unto elisha tarry here i pray thee for the lord hath sent me to bethel and elisha said unto him as the lord liveth and as thy soul liveth i'm not going to leave i will not leave thee so they went down to bethel and the sons of the prophets that were at bethel came forth to elish and said unto him knowest thou that the lord will take away your master from the head today and he said yea i know hold ye your peace and elijah said unto him elisha tarry here stay here i pray that you for the lord has sent me now to jericho and he said as the lord liveth as thy soul liveth i will not leave thee so they came unto jericho and the sons of the prophets they were at jericho came to elisha and said unto him knowest thou to the lord will take away your master from thy head today and he answered yeah i know it i just hold your peace i've heard this before and elijah said unto him terry i pray thee here for the lord sent me to jordan and he said as the lord liveth and as my soul liveth i will not leave thee and they too went on and 50 men and the sons of the prophets went and stood to view afar off and they too stood by jordan elijah took his mantle and wrapped it together and smote the waters and they divided hither and there so that they went they too went over on dry ground and it came to pass that when they were gone over he said to elijah and said unto elijah said unto elisha ask what i shall do for thee before i be taken away from thee and elisha said i pray thee let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me and he said thou hast ask a hard thing he's asked a hard thing but nevertheless if you see me when i am taken from thee it shall be so unto thee but if not it shall not be so it's a hard thing and it came to pass as they still went on and talked and that behold there appeared a chariot of fire and horses of fire and parted them both asunder and elijah went up and a whirlwind into heaven and elisha saw it and he cried my father my father the chariot of israel and the horsemen thereof and he saw him no more and he took hold of his own clothes and he rent them into two pieces and he took up also the man of elijah that fell from him and went back and stood at the bank of jordan and he took the mantle of elijah that fell from him and smote the waters and said where is the lord where is the lord god of elijah and when he also had smitten the waters they parted hither to thither and elisha went over i want to preach to you elijah my god is jehovah elisha my god is salvation the double portion prophet i want to preach to you envision cast to your students tonight on this let's double it let's double it i hope you can feel what i have felt and what the lord has put on me this evening and i wish you'd lift your hands to heaven if you're going to help help me just receive what the lord's given to me but i believe tonight the lord's going to speak to somebody in this house that he wants them to experience the double portion of maybe what's gone before god i pray tonight that you would speak your word god as we've come tonight to check the oil in our lamps god we've come tonight god to make sure we're ready for your coming god i pray god that you administer your word would fall on good ground o god god that you would see god every single person every heart god and that i'm not reading words or just speaking words tonight god but there's a ministering spirit that's going to minister to somebody body soul and spirit tonight god we believe it in the name of jesus we pray why don't you clap your hands to the lord if you want to hear from heaven tonight jesus name we pray amen and amen you can be seated this evening let's double it if you've ever been uh i don't know i grew up around some people that were they were always pushing the line you ever been around anybody like that you talk about it and they've always they're not satisfied they want anything but ordinary they want to see something different and sometimes that can be scary especially if you've lived for very long maybe you are a seasoned saint or you've been around the church and we have to be careful because times progress can become transgress and we see things happen and i've seen many generations make mistakes of seeing change as progress but i believe there's a mindset that elisha has here that we can learn from i believe there's a mindset here young people that we can look at elisha and see his desire we're talking about he could have asked for anything but he said i want a double portion of what my man of god has not the person next to me not what i've seen maybe out in the world or on social media but i want a double portion of what the man of god's got i want to double it i want to see double what i what i you know some of you when i say double the only thing you're thinking of is double cheeseburger okay all right i want to double it you know if you double the cheeseburger it doubles some other things all right i think think of the word double i used to get in trouble uh from my baseball coach i would always try to get to second before i was supposed to be a second you know i get a hit he's like just stay on first and as soon as it hit the bat brother or i was trying to figure out how to get in the scoring position because i didn't care what my batting average was i wanted to win right and i knew the only way i could win is i had to get to second well maybe it's a different things come to your mind when you think of double but it's it's it's it's really got inside in my spirit i i feel like there's just some young people this evening that need to be thinking beyond where they're at then you need to be thinking beyond where you were you say oh 20 20 was rough well i don't care what you can look back to and grab a hold of and think of as being the best moment you've ever had with god and i want you to think beyond that because god has more for every single person in this room you know we focus a lot on the mantle in this very familiar story we set uh this this these the eyes on where is this mantle going to fall and uh these two men were set apart because in fact the mantle that they wore most men during these days were some kind of outer garment but the prophets wore a garment that identified them as men of god second kings chapter 1 and verse number 7 tells us i don't believe that however from some study that the mantle is a type of anointing of the holy ghost that dwells inside of us rather the mantle was this this personable peace it was uh something that you you couldn't have somebody else's you couldn't hold on to somebody else's according to exodus 22 and 26 the holy ghost is actually typified as the oil that would be poured into a vessel but the mantle i believe is an outer covering which protects the anointing within the mantle is the character and the lifestyle that is shown externally in our lives so let's see how this plays out students we see that elisha was called to ministry when elijah threw his mantle over him while he while he was plowing in a field so as he was working his man of god comes and throws a mantle over him however in first kings 19 and verse 19 for elisha to actually inherit the mantle he had to follow the man of god and not just follow him but journey with him through some very specific locations and even with his man man of god trying to talk him out of it i don't know about you but i've had some of those men of god in my life if they can talk you out of it you really don't feel it right i tried to break my sister and my brother-in-law up many times i told him if i can break you up you don't need to be together anyways you know if i can talk you out of it you're not convinced of it yourself right i i tell young people they get mad at me i'm like if i can break you up i know money will if i can break you up i know some kind of argument's going to so we we got to understand that what elijah was doing here he said you now stay here terry here pray here he just i'm going to go hither and he said no i'm going with you and it's almost like you could just it's like copy and paste there we're just going from city to city but i think that there is some these four places that they journey if we look at them they're not just locations but they're specifically located and there's four places that if we want a double portion if we want to double it this evening i think we've got to venture through those four places we go from gilgal to bethel to jericho into jordan gilgal in its root meaning means the beginning of commitment the first time gilgal is mentioned in joshua chapter five and verse number one through nine joshua he couldn't lead his people into the promised land until the young men were sealed with circumcision so they had to take on a sign of separation if we want to see the increase as a church as a youth group we must first look at our commitment it's the first place we've got a journey it's the first place we've got to investigate in our life it all begins at gilgal the beginning of commitment we can't live off somebody else's commitment we must take a sign of separation we must be committed to all end that i'm not interested in anything else my passion is all in following the man of god i'm committed to it you're not gonna talk me out of it i am committed this is the most passionate thing that that's that's beating in my heart is to know that i'm after the will of god are you all in if we could duplicate your passion your commitment to god and everyone else what would the church look like if i could copy and paste who you are and your commitment and your passion and give it to everybody else what would the church look like if i'm going to double it it all starts at gilgal at commitment we must leave behind our own trail of ambitions and desires and revival we must leave behind our own trail of of commitment of consecration of miracles signs and wonders young people it's not it's not just up to everybody in front of us we've got to double our commitment it starts at gilgal then he journeys down to bethel and pastor preach so perfectly this morning translated as the house of god now this is where jacob had his dream his pastor preached this morning and the latter comes down and we see the ascending and descending and all the things that happens there and good things happen at bethel as pastor told us this morning you can hang it up if you think you're going to get a double portion of anything without going through the house of god you can forget getting anywhere with god unless you're going to go through the church in fact you're not even going to get to heaven unless you go through the church he's not coming back to pick you up individually he's coming back to pick him up as it was in the days of noah they got in the ark and he picked up the ark he didn't come pick up you at your house that's why i want to make sure that as we see the day approaching i don't forsake the assembling and making sure i know where the ark is and i know where the people are and i'm going to come in with my family two by two and make sure that i'm ready to be called out with the church if you're going to do anything for god young people you're going to do it through the church you're not going to get a calling outside the church you're not going to work in the kingdom of god unless you're working through the church i'm thankful for the house of god i wouldn't be where i'm at if it wasn't for the house of god every anointed ministry is rooted and grounded in the house of god i don't care how talented hear me young person how influential how many followers you got how anointed you are i want to know one question i want to know the answer to one thing who's your pastor where's your man of god what church are you going through ministries all well and good but where is your bethel have you traveled through bethel i'm thankful for the house of god bethel tells me so many things bethel brings us together the house of god shows me the people i ought to be hanging out with bethel shows me what is ours and what is not ours bethel you you say it there is a separation factor when we come in i don't want the church house to look like the world i've not come to create a atmosphere for the unchurched i've come to create an atmosphere where the world can come in and be changed amen we've got to go through bethel it's not just a gathering of people it's a place where we've got a watchman on a wall see this with me young person we've got a watchman on a wall and i pray that you'd hear this this evening lord don't let me fall i want you to tell me something what good is a wall without a watchman and tell me what good is a watchman without a wall we've got too many young people in this generation that don't want one or the other they don't want to listen to the preacher but i'm going to come to church i'm going to come sit on the pew but i really don't care anything about what you got to say or i've got the opposite i've got them that reverence the man of god but i don't want the walls i i don't want your standards i want to be able to do what i want to do i got to have the wall and i got to have a watchman then i could see my pastor tells me landry hey there's some things out there i got to stay in here he tells me hey there's some things up you don't need to partake of that you don't need to hang out with that you don't need to listen to that but if i tear down the wall my pastor becomes on ground level oh what the wall does it gives us this dividing line to be able to oh you said yeah it comes through the pastor i can't do anything without this vision without this process too many people are hearing today the words of a pastor and it's so good it's so confusing and it even says in the scripture it says that if you don't hear to the watchmen the how foolish to you you may be aware of the wall and you may be aware of the watchman but you might be on the wrong side of it because i can know the wall and i can know the watchman and still not be on the right side of it so that's why i'm telling somebody you got to go to bethel you don't just come and sit on the pew and see what's going on up there i'm telling the young person it's not enough to be where you're at tonight i'm telling somebody you got to get involved i don't want to sit out here i want to get up there i want to get involved in bethel i would have whatever you've been doing i don't want singing in the choir to be the level of expectation i want somebody to be called i want some of you to be wanting to teach sunday school classroom i want to double bethel you say oh and it's not just the responsibility of our middle age and trendsetters to have somebody sitting by them you ought to double the population in here you ought to have somebody sitting with you i need bethel and oh in this hour bethel needs you do i have any trendsetters do i have any moms and dads that would lift up your voice for a moment just let these young people know how much we need them oh how much we need another generation to want more than the previous generation oh the heartbeat of this church young people if you could hear right now it's not good enough if it stops with me it's not good enough if it stops with brother z ender but young people young people you gotta want it you gotta want it let's be honest with the question some of us don't even get to gilgal but if we get to gilgal and we just get in the commit i'm committed for the tyler we're committed i'm here and then we get to the church and it's got a little bit it's a little another it's it's a little bit more more of a i got i got to put a little bit more out there myself they're going to ask me to do some things that maybe i don't completely understand maybe some things that i i don't really why do i need to be in the choir you need to be in the choir because it gets you in the prayer room and you don't come straggling in at six o'clock and you're distracted with all the other things it makes you put on your best to come to church it makes you realize that being a part of something and being a worshiper why should i i shine up with brother jacob to be a greeter or an usher because it puts you accountable to somebody that you can't just sleep through a service and not be accountable to somebody for not being here i want to be committed to the house of god and then he says stay here elisha tear just terry here just hang out i i know you went with me to commitment you got through gilgal and we went to the house of the of of god and i went to the house of the lord and now now just just hang out here i'm going to jericho you really this is the second time i'm trying to warn you i know you you got through these two cities but we're going to jericho because jericho means a place of fragrance jericho's a battleground for spiritual understanding jericho's a place of people that understand commitment and understand the house of god jericho's a place where the anointing oil is poured out and there's no copying and pasting the oil it only comes through brokenness and humbleness this is not for the faint of heart this is not for somebody that's just you if you struggled with the house of god you just need to tarry here but you see this is required because the brokenness will kill the flesh and dead men can't be offended or tempted it's hard to tempt dead flesh it's hard to offend dead flesh and if we have you committed and we've got you to the house of god if we can get you to this place of fragrance oh the devil is beginning to worry and the devil begins to fear because jericho's walls have already fell once because it's a place of breaking a place of fragrance but ahab at this point has rebuilt it and it's no doubt when he walks up and elijah and elijah walk up to this place that used to be broken and they they know the stories of the walls of jericho falling and it's been rebuilt and it's no doubt a place of the victory of faith and the same well the same principle that they walk upon we could see this place of fragrance this place of worship you know a place of fragrance it's the same principle as the rain you've got to get this if you want a double portion the amount of rain that descends is determined by the amount of condensation condensation that us sends we see that the holy ghost anointing poured out this evening the rain of the god's spirit that come down is based upon prayer and praise that's going up no prayer no power little prayer little power more prayer more power somebody this evening may need some refreshing some student may need a reviving but we've got to go through jericho god forbid that the the older saints of the church have to lead us in worship when you've got all the energy in the world god forbid we come and the fragrance has got to be busted open by the trendsetters the fragrance and the anointing is brought in by the seasoned saints you've got to get into a place where you're desperate and say oh if there's anything right now if i ask you wouldn't if i could give you anything if you ask me right now i could give you absolutely anything i hope to god that some of you to have enough holy ghost inside of you to say i just want the anointing i just want the power of god to rest on me but if we're honest and it's a situation this is this is not really one of the things that we're just aiming to accomplish so i know it's a struggle i know it's a problem young people it it maybe you you're too ashamed to praise him maybe you even feel too unworthy to praise him you feel like maybe it's just too much it's it's too much to be all the way in i've committed to jesus and i've come with everybody else to church and that's that's enough for me but when it comes to a place of fragrance i see the fragrance was expensive it wasn't just the breaking it cost something in john 12 mary takes not just anything to watch jesus's feet she takes this costly fragrance of a year's worth of wages it costs something fragrance filled the room because some costly was broken praise cost you something prayer is going to cost you something fast and it ain't easy but if you want to double it if you want more than the previous generation you're going to have to pass through jericho i'd like to spend just a few more moments here because i feel like this is an area that catches young people i feel like it's an area where you feel like the anointing is something that's just for preachers the anointing perhaps is just for certain people and i just i've got the holy ghost i've been baptized and repented of my sins and i just i just want to come and and be here and make sure that i get myself into heaven doesn't work that way oh god's created you for a purpose and a reason you know it it's it's wrong out with me for weeks now but you know i go back to samuel coming into jesse's house to anoint a king in fact let's let's play this out just for fun ethan come here buddy samuel comes in jesse's got his sons all cleaned up and he says i'm here to anoint a king come on up here i'm standing up here he said this is a good looking one here he's got every just perfect go ahead and anoint him he said no that ain't the one jonathan come here run hurry ain't got all night hurry come on he said what about this one he's a little taller you got a nice looking suit on where he got that thing yeah he said yeah he said what about this one he said no that ain't him darien come here run come on i know you want to help me well what about this one he's a little older a little more seasoned he probably he could handle it he could handle making the decision sammy said nope that ain't him luke come here bring that bottle with you just in case what about this one well he's all the way from wilson north carolina come over here we love the garnetts don't we what about this one he got his tennis shoes on he's ready to do something for the lord all right he run the race right now he's ready come on tommy you're already up you're shooting that camera bring it come on up here what about this one huh yeah this one's good he can sing he's talented he loves you this is a good king anointing see carter come here this one's funny he's the life of the party if i'm gonna hang out with somebody i'm gonna hang out with carter what about this one he said what about this one this one isn't it no that ain't him either landry come here run run run this one he comes from good stock he's one of three he's a praying machine praying machine said no i didn't him either jesse brings up all his sons he says all seven of he says that's you got to have another one because god said that ain't none of them he said well there's one more he's out in the field sounds like elisha right he's out in the field and uh sin for him and uh this is perfect come on colby come here and uh here comes ruddy that's what it says i don't know what that means but i'll let you to find a ruddy looking little thing been out in the field you know they they have all they've all cleaned up because see samuel he's full saw and brought a calf as if he was going to sacrifice and so he's fooled everybody so he didn't want saul to know what was going on so he brings a calf and he tells jesse and all his boys clean up we're going to have a sacrifice cleanse yourself wash yourself so they come in looking like this you know and david comes in he ain't got you know he's just all messed up and you know just samuel says that's him god god said that's him so i don't know why you didn't bring him in before i don't know why he wasn't in the house but he said he said you see man looks at the outward appearance but god looks at the heart and he brought him in he said you see it was no coincidence that he was number eight because you see there's really no such thing as the eighth day he stopped at day seven and rested and we hear nothing about the eighth day because there's really no such thing eight when you turn it sideways turn into the sign of infinity because it's a god thing you don't do any he he gets outside of creation so it makes sense that we had day one day two day three day four day five day six day seven and he said i'm not gonna work inside of creation i'm not going to work inside a flesh i'm going to work with an everlasting covenant that he makes with a man after god's own heart that's out keeping the sheep because he knows somebody that's keeping the sheep could probably be a keeper of his presence he knows it's somebody that cares about he saw a praise inside of david he saw a man that could build him a house he saw something in his heart and so he said i'm going to anoint him he said when that anointing started falling young people i want you to see this because it didn't just get on his head we didn't go get a vial and just stick a little bit on his forehead no it got all over him got over his clothes says it went from his head to his toe it got in his eyes he saw a little different he began to talk a little different he began to walk a little in fact they say that his garment was always stained with the oil then when he went back to the field here's the amazing part what i feel like our view of the anointing is of what we've got to go through in jericho is this young people this ain't it you're not one of the seven they they wanted it trust me they looked apart they wanted the anointing who didn't want to be king right they all come jumping out and you feel like that you don't have access to the anointing maybe because of your pedigree maybe because things didn't work out the way you thought they should you're in the house but you don't feel access to the anointing oh but it's not up to jesse it's not up to your lineage it's not up to what your mom or dad says or what your mom and dad it's up to god who said that's the one that's the one oh you are you are a double portion because you are a number eight how many souls did he save by water when he wanted to start everything over eight souls was saved by water when he wanted a circumcised man what'd he do the eighth day when he poured out the gift of the holy ghost he laid in the tomb three days after passover he says brother know that he showed himself alive 40 days alive so if we've got 43 days it says in acts chapter 2 and the day of pentecost 50 days pentecost would be 50 days from passover so we go from passover to pentecost and we're 43 days in it seems like to me they tarried in that upper room seven days so we see that there's this exponential thing with the number eight that god decides to do some infinite beyond the creation so i'm here to tell some young person tonight that no matter what it looks like in your home don't let yourself be deceived that he started something new when he poured the oil on david's head that says it's not just for david it's for you it's for you it's for those with a broken hole it's for those i don't know about you but that gets me excited to let me know that oh i might have some shortcomings if i could be after his heart thank you guys thank you colby i'll i'll buy you a meal or something ah i hope you see it a man after god's own heart a man that was he saw in david that he'd never make the same mistake twice he saw that there was something within him that desired something beyond what beyond what he was but some people can't handle jericho because it costs too much it's too uncomfortable but i want you to know young person that it's accessible that you need an anointing and you can have it you just got to go through gilgal and get committed you got to tie yourself to the man of god and the house of god at bethel and then you can have the anointing of god david's anointing changed him so be prepared for change when the anointing hits you but i want a double portion i've got to have the anointing if there's anything i hope that rings in your ears this evening i've got to have the anointing not something that's duplicated from anybody else it's not something i'm trying to get somebody else no i've got to have my anointing and i want i want it to be greater but i can't expect more than the previous generation by doing less than the previous generation i've got to be invested i've got to be committed and jordan we come to the last place in its original texas pronounces yarden which means the descender it's where it happens it's where he comes down and does what he does jordan's where that mantle descends on a life and fire falls upon the church we're not able to look at humanity of our leader of elijah anymore but we're solely focused upon god and young people i believe in 2021 god wants to double you he wants to give you something beyond what you can even fathom in your mind and i want i don't want us just to duplicate the previous generation i want us to be in multiplication i want us to be the ones that smote the water i want to see as elisha did the 16 miracles which was double the eight that elijah performed i want to see double and in closing this is where i'm at this evening and this is my vision for you this year elisha's servant gehazai because it's just natural brother erickson i would think that if elijah performed eight miracles and elisha performed 16 miracles surely elisha could find somebody that could double 16 right and here's the the worry we we see two men that elijah tries to invest in his service hazel chooses the garments of naaman chooses the garments of the world in second kings 5 and he gets leprosy elisha then looks for someone else and in the last days he even chooses a king joash have some pass and passion would you and we get that famous story that you've heard preached of would you strike the arrows and what's he do tap some on the ground he said if you would just have done it four or five times with some passion don't you know that when elisha fell in that grave and actually that's an amazing story in his last miracle they throw that man in there on him and all this stuff happens you can read that for yourself in second kings but he doubles the amount of miracles that are performed but don't you know that elisha had to die disappointed because he was a doubler he was of the multiplication mindset that if a man that would say i just want to double what you are surely if he would go through gilgal and he would go through he would go through bethel and he would go through chair he would experience all the things he had to experience and the commitment and the how all the things that he surely if he had that kind of passion inside of him he would want the next generation to double him so here's my plead and here's my worry every young person in this place every college student you've got to want it because the power and the anointing of god sits here wanting to multiply you sits here wanting to double you the potential it's it's it's it's amazing to think what god could do through a generation and what we can read in the word of god of those that just wanted it just desired it to be something beyond what had already been played out he could have easily just said i want to be a brother carpenter i want to be a man of god i want to be this i don't know i don't want just that i want double so just stand your feet i just wonder if there's a young person in this place that's willing to smote the waters that wants to see miracle signs and wonders is bad as elisha did because the lord spoke to me tonight in the prayer room and i know it's in context in first kings and i don't know the exact chapter or verse but as they begin to describe if i believe correctly and i might be wrong on this but some architecture it just kept coming to my mind in the prayer room the half has not yet been told and you know why the half's not been told it's because god wants to double you say we stand in the mirrorable miracle the half has not been told and until you begin to think that way until you begin to think beyond and and think double of where you're at and begin to live with that elisha mentality and be willing to go through any stages of commitment and i will submit to any kind of thing that my pastor's got to say i'll submit myself to the church and no matter if anybody else is praising no matter if anybody else is in the prayer room young person i'm not doing it because the crowd's doing it i'm not doing it because it's popular i've come because i want an anointing and i want a mantle to fall from the previous generation and it not missed me because i'm not committed and i miss me because i wasn't at church and not miss me because i didn't have a desire this church is so good about flooding these altars but if if all of our all of our people if you if you would just give just a second for our young people i want a young person that has a desire to go beyond your commitment now to do more for the house of god than you've ever done it to desire an anointing to desire the ability to lay hands on the sick and see them recovered a desire to see the power of god manifested through you if that's you i wish you'd step out of your seat if you believe that god can double what the previous generation saw through you i wish you'd step out of your seat come around this altar and you'd get real with god and say god i know i got to do more if i want to see more god i know i got i there's an anointing for you no matter what you've done it makes you feel like you're unworthy there's an anointing for you if you'll commit yourself come on young people before before the church gathers in
