go ahead and stand to your feet if you're not already and if you would grab your bibles we're going to go to romans chapter 1 and verse number 24 this evening romans chapter 1 and verse number 24 i also want to make it known brother brother and sister erickson are in indianapolis indiana this evening at ibc music fest where they are teaching and sharing all the things that they do around here that we are privileged and benefit from every single weekend and week out and we just pray god's blessing and god's anointing on them they'll be leading worship up there on friday night and we're just excited about them being able to be up there a part of that great gathering there at um indiana bible college romans chapter number one and verse number 24. if you don't mind real quick before we dive into this they're discussing um of course pastor carpenter was planning to minister tonight i was supposed to be upstairs and we kind of shifted everything around and uh brother nolan went up there and brother aaron penton is giving his testimony up there sister lauren is speaking down here to the young ladies they're discussing some very sensitive topics tonight that i believe are very needful for our students and if you would help me for a moment could we just reach our hands kind of toward this direction and just ask god to speak and to work god i'm asking you right now god that you would anoint god what's going on in the rest of this building god i pray that your power and your anointing would fall god that you would speak god that you would allow chains to be broken god that you would allow minds to be open god that you would allow someone to be set free god that you would educate that you would let the truth be known in this room tonight god i pray that you would help it god let it go forth let it fall on good ground upon the students tonight in the mighty name of jesus we pray amen and amen romans chapter one and verse number 24 wherefore god also gave them up to uncleanness through the lust of their own hearts and to dishonor their own bodies between themselves who changed the truth of god into a lie somebody say a lie and worshiped and served the creature more than the creator who is blessed forever amen for this cause god gave them up to vile affections for even their women did change their natural use into what which is against nature and likewise also the men leaving their natural use of the woman burned in their lust one toward another men with men working that which is unseemly and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meat i want to preach to you tonight speak to you teach to you on this topic and i dodged all afternoon for the few little bit of just a tad bit of time i had i had something that i'd already prepared and i thought this is perfect i'm going to teach this and i went and prayed and the lord brought me to this and i don't really know why so i hope that somebody leaves here knowing why tonight this is a kind of a black hole all right when i dive into this subject um it's like a if you're not careful you get into this place where everybody gets their toes stomped on it's not a fun subject it's a blurred area of our lives but i think it is the root cause we just read a bunch of things that paul is addressing to the church at rome that he ultimately could address in our world today right and so my topic my title tonight somewhat odd but hopefully you'll understand by the time we're done somebody's lying somebody's lying all right you say the word lying everybody gets a little bit tense all right nobody wants to be called a liar nobody wants to be accused of lying in fact call me a fool call me whatever you want to call me but don't call me a liar so we'll attempt to address this subject tonight although avoidable it's oftentimes found in the scripture so let's ask god for a moment here to speak to us lord we love you i thank you so much that your word is forever settled i thank you that it's a lamp into our feet and a light unto our path and i ask that you would do that tonight god i ask that you would shed light onto our heart to our minds god and to our situation that you would help us see so clearly god that when we leave here tonight that we become better we become changed by your word but we thank you for your goodness we ask you once again to anoint your word tonight in jesus name we pray amen and you may be seated i'm going to attempt to address this subject this evening i've heard it said that we don't know who made the biggest liars out of people golfing fishing or income taxes but it's uh impossible for man to be a successful liar unless someone believes him so let's start here this evening if you could maybe relate maybe you've been in a situation as a parent as an overseer as a boss a leader whatever the case may be you may have just been in the midst of this yourself or maybe you've been accused of something and you're standing there and maybe there's somebody trying to navigate the situation between you and somebody or you're trying to navigate with the situation between that somebody and that somebody and you've got stories that don't exactly match up huh i had one just yesterday with the boys he hit me no he hit me huh what's the natural thing you somebody's not telling the truth here somebody's lying right how many times we find ourselves maybe in office and they're being accused of this and they were cheating on a test no i wasn't somebody's not telling the truth reminds me of a story in the bible where solomon had two moms one of the mothers was claiming that her child was the living child when she knew that her child was dead first kings 3 and 23 says then said the king then once said this is my son that liveth and thy son is dead and the other said no this is my son is your son's dead and my son's living and just sounds like something going on between siblings or something out on the playground or and it's like somebody's lying here somebody's not telling the truth and the king said all right bring me a sword i don't think that's ever a word that you want to hear king say he says bring me a sword before the king and verse 25 says and the king said all right we can't get the truth then divide the living child in two give half to her and half to her wise man solomon pulls a trick on him here but the first lesson we learn in the midst of somebody lying is that no one wins in a lie nobody wins in a lie the speaker or the listener nobody wins one reason actions always speak louder than words is they always speak the truth i've heard it said that there's no such thing as a white lie and i understand that statement completely it's either truth or it's not amen however i fear that lying is a term that's not often discussed but it's a very biblical concept that it has a cousin i would refer to tonight name deception and the boundary and the blood between these two often get very blurry and very vague and i could maybe i could paint you a picture tonight let's say i go out and get on a plane and fly up to washington dc and i get out and i get on the sidewalk there out on my cell phone cell phone out in front of the white house and i decided to dial it up and i'm let's say we call facebook say this is zach hammond i'm calling from the white house i need to speak to mr zuckerberg huh i need i have some things i need to address some things that i don't agree with why do i keep getting these pop-ups why does this happen well it would it would not necessarily be false but it would be somewhat misleading but to lie is to intentionally mislead others when they expect the truth although it's not my complete goal tonight i would like to maybe throw some red flags up before we dive into some scripture that in our spirits there are some things that we are battling for our souls that could be surfacing out and flowing out of our lives that's definitely an issue in our world today look at this with me what would your response be to somebody who walked by and you've probably already done this at least a dozen times even tonight that says hey bro how you doing hey sis how are y'all doing tonight oh we're doing great we're living the dream brother josh everything's great couldn't be better having having a great week when all the while if we really ask ourselves are we really being completely truthful all right now we all know that we don't really when we say hey bro how are you doing tonight we really don't want to hear how he's huh i got some big amens back here in the corner we're really saying it it's just a cordial thing i really don't want to know how the week's going and i don't really need a spill on everything that's happened here and there so we kind of have this agreement that it's just better say hey it's going good and on to the next hey how you doing it's going good and we're just making our way to our seat right but in reality how many times are we in a situation where if we really get into some small conversations if we're not careful there's some things that maybe could creep into our spirit now i'm not here to determine you know what's deception and what's i'm just here to bring you a concept all right let's let's maybe talk about this what about the question and i need all the men because all the young folks left that are ignorant that would answer wrong to this that's what they're over there talking about actually your wife walks in and she says honey does this dress make me look fat what's the answer to that question no huh we're not we're not going to go any further into that but what about when your kid comes out from playing a game or they bring home their report card hey mom you think i did good well you know you missed about a dozen shots and you fouled out and this happened and that happened but yeah you did great buddy how many times are just small conversations whether it be response or maybe it's even an encouragement i was in a leadership training a few weeks ago and they recommended a book i started reading this book i'd call it more like an article it was only like 50 pages or so and the guy is addressing leadership when you're encouraging and you're telling people things they want to hear when they're not true you're allowing people to live in a false reality thinking that they're being successful when they're not if you really start and i i hope i've got your mind kind of turning that was the goal with all of that i'm not necessarily telling you not to encourage people i'm definitely not telling you to respond differently to your wife when she's trying on clothes i'm definitely not trying but i just want your mind to kind of begin to think of the conversations perhaps with a co-worker with your children with your spouse where maybe there is a conversation that you need to be truthful about because i've heard it said thousands of times speak the truth in love but by all means speak the truth romans chapter 9 and verse 1 says i say truth in christ i lie not the reason that lying is such a crazy thing nowadays you can't trust anything that you see on the media huh because this scripture paul makes it pretty plain right here i say the truth in christ not in christ it's pretty great logic right there isn't it i lie not which i love this that paul obviously is dealing with liars in rome it's been an age-old issue why because it started everything it's the conception of sin it's this blurry line of deception he didn't necessarily maybe tell me all the truth or tell me all the wrong but there's this idea to blur the truth the motive behind the definition of a lie is to say that i'm not going to give you full vision of the truth it's the motive behind it that makes it so paul says i say the truth in christ i lie not my conscience also bearing me witness in the holy ghost paul says in other words i'm not lying listen to what i got to say james 3 14 says but if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts glory not and lie not against the truth my point tonight that i bring you in this message is to raise awareness of our lives do we have things in our hearts our lives our routines that have become common but not true i live in this perpetual cycle of not truly facing the truth maybe it's as simple as that i get serious about serving god for a while and then i allow myself to start being distracted by a hobby or hanging out with somebody else or i start listening to this person or i get distracted and this is a busy season for work and i allow the ebb and the flow of life to start creating feelings toward maybe i don't have to go to church all three services for this service and you start living in something that not necessarily your speaking but your life becomes something that's not a reality it is really necessary to set ourselves apart is it really necessary to do the things i don't really fit in with this group of people my small group and i don't really want to do this anymore and i don't really understand the concepts or i don't understand tithing i'm going to stop doing this right now i'm going to stop doing that i'm just going to distance myself and all of a sudden you've been deceived into thinking that you can live without god it just starts one little small step at a time one little lie at a time one little idea that all of a sudden it's this small thing that slowly becomes a big thing no one ever turned away from god overnight no one ever just woke up and decided hey i'm going to backslide god's not been good to me today i'm just not going to serve him anymore it's a slow small that's why that casual little lie that they refer to as oh it's just a white lie or it's just this or it's just that know anything that is not the truth plants a seed that allows you to begin to think the only way that truth fades is one little lie after little lie a day of deception after a day of deception i'm all right i can make it without prayer today i'm all right i can make it without liv reading the word of god if if if a man is a liar it is useless to tell him he knew it the whole time think through before you lie to someone else you're gonna have to lie to yourself look at this process in the scripture that the biggest lie you will ever believe is the one you tell yourself the biggest issue that you'll ever have is allowing yourself to believe something you say well i'm not saying that to them right but what are you telling yourself because the worst excuse you can have is a good one are you telling yourself you're all right when you're really got some things you need to deal with ephesians 4 paul again writes to the church at ephesus verses 24-32 let's the scripture really preaches itself here and that you put on a new man which is after god is created in righteousness and true holiness we're for putting away lying okay you see this with me because this scripture is rightly divided perfectly positioned perfectly perfectly put in order he says you put off the old man you put on the new man true righteousness true holiness what's the first thing what's the first thing he comes to in our bible study tonight wherefore putting away lying speaking every man truth with his neighbor for we are many members one of another be ye angry and sin not then he gets into some other things which are very important let not the sun go down upon your wrath neither give place to the devil that him that stole still no more but rather let him labor working at his hands with things that which is good that he may have to give to him that's in need let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth and that which is good to use for the edifying that it may minister grace unto the hearers and grieve not the holy spirit of god whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and evil speaking be put away from you with all malice and be ye kind one to another tenderhearted forgiving one another even as god for christ's sake has forgiven you you put on the new man the new man the first thing he says put away is put away lying whether it's the story you're telling somebody else because then he addresses your neighbor or it's a story you're telling yourself john 8 and verse number 24 look at the scripture i mean when you you want to see how big of an issue this term is just search it just word search it in in your your iphone your ipad how many times the word lie lying just it's it's over and over and over and over and over again jesus says in john 8 42 words of jesus jesus said to them if god were your father you would love me for i proceeded forth and came from god neither came i of myself but he sent me why do ye not understand my speech this is the words of jesus even because you cannot hear my word look at this hear of your father the devil and the lust of your father ye will do he was a murderer from the beginning and abode not in the truth because there is no truth in him he when he speaketh the lie he speaketh of his own for he is a liar and the father of it first note to take here is that before he calls him a liar he calls him a murderer and these are the words of jesus christ because in order to be a liar you have to devalue man that much he he sees it in the sense if you're a liar you're a killer if you're going to speak something other than the truth you do not value the life of everybody around you that's why anytime you see a concept about lying they're quickly going to whether it's paul it doesn't matter who the writer is they're going to go in they're going to start talking about you caring for one another because there's nothing worse than not only you living in a lie but you allowing someone else to be influenced by the lie you're telling he says and because i tell you the truth you believe me not which of you convinceth me of sin and if i say the truth why do you not believe me he that is of god heareth god's word ye therefore hear them not because you are not of god he he's like bookends of a question jesus is saying why can't you hear me why can't you hear me because there's somewhere in the middle of those that sandwich there of what jesus is painting the picture of and trying to to to ask the question the reason you can't hear me is because you're hearing something else simple but yet how many things in our life could we accredit to maybe a lie that's no pun intended lying deep down in our hearts why don't you understand my speech have you not heard my word you are of the father you're the devil if you've if you deny the truth and you you begin to live a lie he's a murderer from the beginning because he calls him a liar he calls him when he walks us through this this is a very interesting passage that you can tell who your father is and you could see why why do you not believe in me jesus keeps emphasizing so here's the whole point tonight of the message very simple your life is making someone out to be a liar is it the devil or is it me the devil has used his words from the very beginning of false truth the reason he's the father of lying is he is always doing anything he can do he don't know the truth but he's doing anything he can to blur those lines why is it that we find ourselves living in the culture of the united states of christianity and it seems like especially in this area of the world that you can drive up and down almost any street and see a church with a different name huh why how is that possible the word denominations is nowhere in the bible how do you have church with the basis of something that's true that's not in the bible how how do you have all these different it just calls them a church and it doesn't call them christians until antioch in the latter part of the book of acts where we see that the church is born and we know and we understand all of that and why that the book of acts is this is that and all the things that's happened in the bible to point to that but it's like how in the world from the same book are we getting hundreds of denominations people that will sit down with you and argue you that there's three gods argue you that they're predestined that god just stamped them on their head when they came out of their mother's womb and it really matter what they do i grew up going to a non-denominal mostly presbyterian christian school my bible teacher was a once saved always saved romans 8 romans road to salvation you couldn't convince him otherwise brother perdue i spent most of my high school years i know from 10th grade on i would meet him at the bottom of the hill and he had a van where it was built for him to be able to drive in he was paralyzed in a wheelchair and i would meet him at the bottom of the hill and me and brother mr jerry ediger i would push him all the way up this hill that our school set up on and get him to the top of the hill and he'd go in and get his coffee how many times we had conversations a couple times he came to church to hear brother johnny james but completely deceived why because he had went to seminary and he had been deceived by someone else ultimately he had been told that where that had become his truth that had become his way of life he believed that it was a once saved always saved that it didn't matter what i did i told him man if i believed that i'd be doing something different huh i got nothing to lose i ain't gonna be in here teaching bible to a bunch of bratty kids right if i don't have a i i think i'm a little too logical to think that way it's like hey let's go live it up all right how does that it doesn't make sense but somewhere that lie has gotten down in their heart and they believe that it's become a truth so how much the more how much the more you you know as i begin to talk about this you've got people in your life that you know that you've tried to witness to you've tried to tell them and explain to them the steps of salvation it seems so plain in scripture it seems so obvious from genesis or revelation but they have believed this so strong that you can't convince them otherwise and you're just praying that god will give them a moment like paul's road to damascus and just wake them up and show them somehow some way that what they're believing is not the truth but that's the enemy's whole tactic the devil has been destroying just by not he's not simply telling you you can't have the truth but he just wants to put just a small enough lie in there to keep you from really truly being made free because the scary thing about a lie is our flesh is created as it's easy to believe huh now this is something i could get off and i would spend way too much time in the bible telling you all the stories but you are built think about it adam and eve we're not talking about babylon we're not talking about sodom and gomorrh we're not talking about anything crazy right there's not all the stuff that paul's addressing in rome and the church at ephesus and corinth and all the things that are happening in the bible that's adam and eve are just in there naming animals living it up in paradise and there's one tree it's not hard to live there all of us would love to live there huh that would be the easiest life just one rule if you can't obey one rule my god today for the school we've got a handbook some of you you have to have a handbook for your house you know i mean everybody got rules they got one rule but because of a lie because of a just a a small what seems so insignificant that tells me that it's don't take a bunch of outside influence it don't take it doesn't take peer pressure it doesn't take a crowd or it doesn't take this it doesn't take that to pull me in and lure me in to being deceived and to making a mistake think about this story comes to mind it was joseph's brothers that sold him into slavery and they dipped his coat of many colors this coat of favor they were jealous of and the goat's blood and took it back to their father jacob and immediately if you could see it with me jacob grabs hold of that coat i mean in a matter of three scriptures it tells you jacob rents his garment puts on sackcloths and ashes and i could just have this mental picture in my mind of jacob just sitting there it says that he weeped and he mourned over joseph i could see him just holding brother steph holding on to that bloody coat it wasn't his son's blood that was a goat that they killed so he he just immediately i mean it didn't take any time and there's no explanation they didn't come in and give this big long story it wasn't elaborate a beast got your favorite boy and killed him and all of a sudden jacob just embraces this so quick and we see it over and over and over and over and over and over again in scripture of how easy it is that people are deceived because it's easy to believe a lie but then you turn the pages from genesis 37 35 is where you read that the last verses of genesis 37 you literally get to genesis 45 joseph has went through his whole process of being pulled from the pit and being promoted and he was light on by potiphar's wife and now he's thrown in prison he even gets promoted in the prison all of a sudden joseph finds himself where he is the big head honcho he's the guy and he's making it all happen and here comes his brothers and there's famine in the land you know the story and joseph extends mercy and the scripture in genesis 45 and 26 it says that joseph sends back his father through all of his brothers sends back shows mercy not only shows mercy but sends back carts and wagons fool he sends back all kinds of things with the triple he just he's here's here's not only food here's some money here's all these things he sends it all back to his father and genesis 45 26 says that he told them saying joseph is yet alive put down the bloody coat jacob never once said that they lied to him joseph is alive and he is governor over all the land of egypt and jacob's heart fainted and he believed them not hold on so you can embrace the coat of a lie but you won't believe the carts outside the house of blessing why because for some reason why is it easier for us to believe the negative why is it easy for us to fall prey to deception it's because our flesh connects with negativity all of a sudden our flesh likes to feed on something other than the truth because oftentimes the truth is just too good to believe especially when it comes to the kingdom of god it seems maybe impossible the negative is much easier to embrace it's much easier to connect that's why jesus after all chose a cross to connect with your suffering because he would have just came and died and come up out of a tomb but that cross allows you and i to feel something when they put those pictures up of the cross all of a sudden there's tears that begin to swell up in your face and you see the blood that's running down from his crown of thorns and all of a sudden you connect with that because you've been through some things it's easy to connect to that negativity but if we're not careful the thing that connects us to christ is the very thing that the devil uses to tell us oh you're not good enough you're never going to amount to nothing you've failed and you'll never make it out of this and all of a sudden the lies that you know are false you've all of a sudden begin to believe them yourself and you just kind of mope around and before you know it you've become a victim of something that's not even true i know when i tell you tonight that there's a god that loves you unconditionally it's hard to believe that's hard to believe in your flesh because nobody else treats you that way nobody else can offer you that no matter how good of a person you married or how great your job is or the people in your life and the family in your life nobody is unconditional i know there's some things in the word of god that i tell you that he came down and he died on a cross for and he gave his life for you i know those things in your flesh is hard to comprehend i know it's hard to accept sometimes even and it's and it's it's hard to believe to know that when everything is going wrong and everything in your life don't seem to be turning the way that you thought they thought it was going to it's hard to believe that god is that good and he's that good and he's for you titus 1 and verse number 2 is a scripture that's quoted mentioned a lot but when you really get down to the pages of your bible he puts this little nugget in here that is so strong and so powerful because it takes god out of the question we know his word is good we know that he died for us but in a hope of eternal life which god that cannot lie promised before the world begin i'm here to tell you tonight that somebody's lying and it's not god you see that's awful simple but i'm here to tell you tonight live that way if we can live that way if we can open our hearts up to this truth and truly let it be truth to our lives it could change so many things therefore psalms 31-18 says let thy lying lips be put to silence anybody want to silence the enemy which speaks grievous things and proudly and contemptuously against the righteous acts five and verse number one look at this but a certain man named ananias with sapphira his wife sold a possession and kept back part of his price his wife also being private to it brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles feet but peter said ananias why has satan filled your heart to lie now this is a whole other level we start taking some steps here as we journey through this he says ananias why has satan filled thine heart to a lot to lie to the holy ghost not to your brother not to your spouse not to your boss not to the government but to keep back part of the price of the land while it remained was it not thine own and after it was soul was it not in thy own power why hast thou conceived this thing in thy heart thou has not lied unto men but unto god and ananias now this is obviously we're thankful for the mercy and the grace of god this is in the book of acts here that we see ananias hearing these words fell down and gave up the ghost and great fear came upon all them that heard these things and the young men arose wound him up and carried him out and buried him he says you not now lied to your neighbor you're now lying to the holy ghost which this is one of those things where you try to fathom in your mind you try there's certain parts of scripture you try to really understand that you know where we're at with god you you would have to be really deceived into thinking that you could lie to god huh you would have to be really messed up into thinking that you could hide something from god that's why and i know i'm not pastor's not here tonight but i think it'd be okay to be saying that's why it blows my mind to know that people don't tithe nobody knows that nobody has a clue in this room whether or not you tithe or not you march you walk but how crazy are we to think that we are lying to god see i've got everybody else full my wife don't even know that i struggle with this my husband don't even know my my boss don't even realize that i'm this or realize that i've got it hidden i've got it figured out i'm managing my life that's not a full true story who are we to think ananias i mean it's pretty obvious here that he makes a point that you've not lied now to me peter said but you've lied to the holy ghost and you've lied against god and there are times in the bible where it says pastor referred to it last week he says there's times where you'll you'll see especially uh when there's faith in somebody's heart they'll say they they're speaking speak speak it to themselves the woman that reached out and touched the hem of his garments she said within herself the scripture says says within herself that that if i could just touch him that he would be made whole this is she didn't necessarily say that with her mouth she didn't necessarily say that as as opening up her mouth but she said within herself matthew 12 and 34 says o generation of vipers how can ye being evil speak good things for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks so understand this when something is abundant it has no choice but to come out of your mouth that's why god chose the tongue instead of another part of your body to give you the holy ghost that's why god chose the tongue he could have said you jump up and down he could have said you spin around three times kick your leg in the air and you've got the holy ghost he could have he could have chose another option all right he could have said you do this you do that you clap on the one and the three whatever you do you can just that's what you get you get the holy ghost all right but he chose your tongue and he didn't just choose it for no reason james 3 1 says my brethren be not many masters knowing that we shall receive a greater condemnation for in many things we offend all if many if any man offend not in the word the same as a perfect man and able also to bridle the whole body behold we put bits and horses mouths that they may obey us and we turn their whole body behold also the ships which thought they may be so great are driven of a fierce wind that they are turned about with a very small hymn whether so with or so ever the governor enlisted even so the tongue is a little member that boasteth great things behold how great a matter a little fire kindleth and the tongue is a fire and a a world of iniquity so is the tongue among our members that it defileth the whole body and setteth on fire the course of nature and it is set on fire of hell for every kind of beast and of birds and of serpents and of things of the sea and is tame hath been tamed of mankind but the tongue can no man tame it is an unruly evil full of deadly poison so again we go back to that scripture we started with you can't tame this thing by yourself you're either in christ in truth or you're going to find a problem that you're consistently running into of trying to trail down your words because you just said something that wasn't true constantly having to remember what you say because i kind of maybe didn't tell them all the truth or i kind of bent this out or i didn't really so we see here that it's in our mouth that's why you speak in tongues it tells me who my father is it tells me that i'm in christ no longer the father of lies i'm speaking a language that is unknown to anyone but to god it's abundant in my heart it is showing the process it is showing the making of me being in the truth of the truth shall make you free your mouth is the center of spiritual warfare in the bible it tells you what houses your heart it tells you who that is in charge of your life it tells the truth or it tells a lie in other words that horse is either going one direction or another that ship is either going one direction or another that tongue is telling the story so i didn't mean to say that or i didn't mean to say this we've got to always check our heart solomon said death and life are in the power of the tongue david said oh magnify the lord with me let us exalt his name together when i open up my mouth i am allow death and life come out of my mouth that's why it's so powerful that i it's very it's very bothersome when you go into a church house or you go into a prayer meeting and you don't hear anything because spiritual warfare is happening when you open up your mouth you say yeah well they had enough faith to stay within themselves yeah but when there's an abundance in your heart the mouth will speak you understand that it's it's it's of an abundance do you ever see anybody get angry huh that's an abundant of something in their heart you know you ever seen a mama get mad about their something going on with that little girl that little boy that's an abundance of something in their mouth huh it comes out you're going to get angry so he says that's why he says right after that be be angry and sin not because when there's an abundance sometimes those things flow out but death and life come out you're either sending out fiery darts of the enemy huh who are you fighting for it's all depends on what's coming out of your mouth when i open up my mouth and prays i make the devil a liar it's like solomon says somebody's lying here i don't want it to be me and i know it's not god david said once you magnify the lord with me he says i am the lord thy god which brought thee out of the land of egypt open thy mouth wide and i will feel it what are you speaking deuteronomy 30 and verse number 14 but the word is very nigh unto thee in thy mouth and in thy heart that thou mayest do it see i have set before thee this day life and good and death and evil psalms 89 and 1 i will sing of the mercies of the lord forever with my mouth i will make known my faithfulness to all generations your kids that are sitting over here and up there need to hear you pray need to hear you worship need to see your faithfulness unto god they need to learn how to fight spiritual battles they need to hear the truth they are all day long being flooded and infatuated and drawn away by all the deception and the lies of media and maybe even from their friends telling them some things maybe about themselves or bullying them whatever the case may be we live in a world with people that are not perfect they need to hear the truth from us they need to experience the truth of god's goodness and faithfulness psalms 109 and 30 i will greatly praise the lord with my mouth yea i will praise him among the multitude the mouth the words that we allow to flow from us they have the ability to be that human hinge of heaven to bind on earth to loose on earth what needs to be bound or loosed in heaven you have that ability god forbid that the devil deceive us into thinking that we keep our mouths shut and we not open up heaven and allow heaven to come down and it'd be literally here in this room as it is in heaven psalms 126 verses 1-3 and i'm almost done this evening when the lord turned again the captivity of zion we were like them that dream then was our mouth filled with laughter and our tongue with singing then said they among the heathen the lord hath done great things for them the lord had done great things for us wherefore we are glad joel 3 and 10 says beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears let the weak say that i am strong we must know the word of god so we can not only speak it because it is easy to believe a lie when you don't know the truth all i can all i can fathom up in the garden of eden is to know that adam and eve brother white must have went too long without hearing the voice of god because if you've heard this just moments before i don't believe satan could have deceived them if we keep this thing close enough to us if there's anything that i think is is is missing sometimes in our walk with god in the apostolic movement is we expect a pastor or a preacher or a teacher to do the study of this for us because we have the truth and we have great preachers we expect them to bring the word of god for us we practice it often times because we see the three steps of the plan of salvation of repentance baptism in jesus name and the infilling of the holy ghost and we all if i made an altar call on this wednesday night we would all gather around and pray we know how to repent we know how to get on our face before god and we all understand that if we want to not only be reminded and increase our faith that we pray till we pray in another tongue to be reminded that we have the gift of the holy ghost to be reminded that if god called us out that's the spirit that's going to quicken us we're good at those two things but there's a third step that's the middle step that is not just a one-time washing that's not just a one-time experience no we're not going to parade everybody up here and baptize 600 people every service that's the first time as it's just a symbol of your covenant with god but he says when he went by the labor it was the washing of the word that we can repent but we're going to need to repent over the same things tomorrow unless we get this truth in us that stops our heart from deceiving us because it is deceitfully wicked so until i get this truth inside of me i'm going to misuse the mercy of god until i get this truth inside of me although i know god and i know where to turn to i don't want to make the word come to life that says i crucify him afresh daily i want to take up this cross i want to apply it to my life and i've got to get in the word of god to do it i'm thankful for the truth we need to read the bible so we know how to pray we need to read the bible because he tells us the things of life he is not a liar we need those promises in our life we need the word of god that we be not deceived by the words of men i'll close with this as we go back to matthew 12 and 34. o generation of vipers how can ye being evil speak good things for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks my warning to you this evening my stirring to bring me down this endeavor to try to communicate this concept to you tonight in scripture is i am more worried about what's not abundant than what is because if we're not careful we learn to filter our speech and we harbor it in our heart and we know how to manage it enough that it don't get overflowing and it doesn't reveal who we really are and so oftentimes the same people that don't speak in tongues every time they get in the presence of god are the same people that's learned to filter and manage and not allow that abundance of anger of that abundance of anything to come out of their mouth because they've got some things harbored in here and they've got some things that's really deceived them of bitterness and hatred and carnality and you've got that one little issue dad or you've got that one little issue mom that you're not willing to let go of and you've deceived yourself into thinking that you're okay so my my words to you tonight is i understand that we can see the abundance thereof but what's in my heart may not be abundant because god has to be absent if there's other things in there if there's any word from the enemy that's crept in your hearts whether it be through hurt or disappointment or a mistake or things that you've done or things that's happened to you please don't cover it up please don't feel like that you can manage it please don't try to filter it the truth is the only thing that will make you free somebody's lying i know it's not god i know the devil does but lord don't let it be me you stand to your feet tonight i'm thankful for the word of the lord i thank you for being here on this wednesday night hearing the word of the lord i would ask you if you would take your bible if you have it if you don't just lift both your hands to heaven if you have your bible i wish you'd lift it up to god and i'm just so thankful for his word god i pray tonight over these great people i thank you for this time that we have to be able to study your word on a wednesday night i thank you for your presence god that came down as we begin to worship you and i pray tonight that we would hide your word in our heart god that the only thing that would be abundant would be the spirit of the living god that you would not allow us to be deceived and drawn away from our own lust god to be the seed for our heart is deceitfully wicked god i come against the adversary and the lies of the enemy god with the truth tonight in the name of jesus i pray freedom in this place tonight god i pray that it's somebody god that's under the sound of my voice that has things that they've tried to keep secret and they've tried to manage god that we would give them to you tonight that the spirit of the almighty god that can deliver us out of anything would ring true in this place tonight in the name of jesus i pray there be freedom upon every man every woman in this place tonight god i pray that there be liberty in this house god god that as we go from here that we'll walk in your truth and the lamp and the light of your word god i thank you for your goodness god i thank you for your truth god it's worth dying for it's worth living for it's forever settled and i'm going to be judged by it god and i want it in my heart oh god god i want to be god in the midst of your truth god that i be not deceived in the name of jesus we pray come on if you love the lord would you clap your hands to him tonight please find somebody and greet them in the love of the lord tonight tell them it's so good to see everyone in the house of the lord please
