Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
The lesson: a holy God and his people
- The lesson is Called to Be Holy, in the winter series on God's holiness and ours
- Peter introduces himself with no titles beyond an apostle of Jesus Christ, and warns that wearing the Christian name carries responsibility
- The chapter is walked through entire: a lively hope, an inheritance incorruptible, salvation ready to be revealed, and the word of the Lord that endureth for ever
Scriptures: 1 Peter 1:1, 3-25
Believe and be baptized
- Mark's commission is read: go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature; he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved
- Faith must be heard to be believed, and hearing requires a preacher who is sent
- Peter used the key on the day of Pentecost: repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
- Holiness cannot be had without obeying what he said
Scriptures: Mark 16:15-16; Acts 2:38
Kept through seasons of trial
- There are seasons of heaviness through manifold temptations, and the trial of faith is more precious than gold tried with fire
- His own story is told: a flat tire, dirty hands and a cup of coffee in a Western Avenue restaurant became the door to a family counselled and still serving in this church generations later
- All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose
Scriptures: Romans 8:28
Doubting Thomas
- John 20 is read from verse 19: the doors shut for fear, Jesus in the midst, peace be unto you, and the disciples glad when they saw the Lord
- Thomas was not with them, and would not believe unless he saw the print of the nails and thrust his hand into his side
- Eight days later Jesus stands in the midst again and Thomas answers, my Lord and my God
- Blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed; you can believe and receive, or doubt and do without
Scriptures: John 20:19-29
Be ye holy in all manner of conversation
- The commission in Matthew's version is named: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, and the name is Jesus
- Holiness is not only modesty of dress but holiness of speech, of conduct, and of what a believer types and answers in online quarrels
- See that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: brotherly love must not only begin but continue
- He closes by honouring his wife on her birthday and praying over the congregation
Scriptures: Matthew 28:19; Isaiah (book-only, as spoken)

diabetic but uh if you would be helping me pray for for Lanny and uh all the other Saints in the church that uh this time of year we seem like we have uh colds and flu and all that business but that comes that comes every year but we're going to get into into the word of God and it's a lamp to my feet and a light to my pathway if you stop and think about that a lamp and a light in a dark age is a wonderful thing to have a lamp to our feet and a light to our pathway and that's what the word of God is and uh we're behind on our lesson we'll get caught up some of these days but tonight uh we're teaching the December 10th lesson and and it's in series one of the winter season God's holiness and ours and tonight's lesson is entitled called to be holy called to be holy we've got a holy God and he expects us to be holy and let me concur with Pastor M about uh Elder Summers let's pray for him and he's uh had another bout and they put him in the hospital but let's pray that God will continue to touch his body first Peter 1:5 is the focus verse and then we'll go back to verse one because I like to I I like to go back to the whole chapter and find out what it's talking about first of all let us pray father we thank you tonight for your love and goodness we thank you for the privilege of being in the house of God to be with the saints of God we pray Lord that you bless those that's on the road those that's visiting families over the holidays may it be a a holy holiday and keep the saints of God safe to back home to church again God we ask you to anoint the lips of clay tonight with the spirit of God give what you would have spoken in this service in Jesus name we do pray amen and amen amen First Peter chapter 1 and we're going to start reading at verse one and if we have the time we may go through the entire chapter 25 verses Peter and Apostle of Jesus Christ first of all Peter's introducing himself not as uh doctor important or drct this or that he says Peter an apostle of Jesus Christ and you know the the greatest topic we can have and and throughout the the years I have been offered uh different times to receive a a honorary doctor's degree and and I have declined at different times number one I haven't earned a a a doctor's degree when and again I know that's honorary and not not actual but the greatest title I can have is a a a Son of God a an Apostolic preacher you just don't get any higher than that but when God filled me with the Holy Ghost when I was 11 years old in 1948 uh I got I got the uh the born again exper and and that's the greatest thing that's ever happened and I thank God for that but Peter and uces himself by saying an apostle of Jesus Christ now that takes with it a great responsibility when you call yourself a Christian you're taking upon you a great responsibility because folks are expecting you to act like a Christian how many times have you have you heard people say and and he calls himself a Christian and that's usually said in a negative manner and when you and I start wearing that name of being a Christian God is Holy and he expects us to be holy Peter an apostle of Jesus Christ to The Strangers scattered throughout Pontius galaa caposa Asia and Bania now he right off tells what his mission is as an apostle now he not only is called called to The Strangers scattered through pontis and galatia and capadia and Asia and beamia but here's what Jesus said in the uh Book of Mark the 16th chapter and verses 15 and 16 Jesus said and he said unto them go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to Every Creature now this is why we are engag engaged in Mission work uh some some can't go but we can go by giving we can support the missionary work and others that have that call of God on their life now I have never felt called to be a foreign missionary but I've always felt the need to support foreign missionaries and the Lord laid on my heart many years ago uh the the the burden or the blessing of supporting home Mission Works because I've often said the light that shines farthest shines brightest closest to home if we had no home Mission churches we wouldn't have the ability to support foreign missions so when uh Peter's introducing himself to The Strangers scattered he could add that to all the world for Jesus said unto them go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to Every Creature it don't matter Rich poor black quiet Brown yellow what the skin color makes no difference every person is important in the eyes of God as a child of God there's not one that's more important than the other we're all one great big family and he said he just simply put it like this to every preater I mean that that that includes all of us he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved and he that believeth not shall be damned now the message of Salvation as Jesus put it uh and as Matthew as uh Mark uh related it in the 16th chapter of The Book of Mark when he said uh he that believeth and and is baptized shall be saved uh and then there's a colon Mark there or semicolon that means there's something else to follow you better read the rest of it he that believeth and is baptized now all I I hear many preachers use the term uh believe with the Lord Jesus Christ and you'll be saved uh plus nothing else and know and they'll leave I've heard them even throw in uh knock out baptism knock out this knock out that no he that believeth and is baptized now what does that mean pray tell when Jesus said he that believeth now you can't be saved without believing and how can you believe on him and whom you've not heard how shall you hear without a preacher and how shall he preach except to be sent so there's some great importance on understanding who he is how can you believe on him and whom you have not heard you got to hear and the the Bible said Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God you need a man of God called of God to preach you the Blessed word of God to be saved he that believeth and is baptize shall be saved now Jesus put that in his words as Mark reported it and then the next line says he that believeth not shall be damned uh now you can interpret that the way you want to it sounds to me like what Jesus had said is very important and it's absolutely binding he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved he that believeth not shall be dead damn now we're we're we're we're reading from the book of of uh Peter first Peter remember he's the one Jesus gave the keys to said whatsoever you abound on Earth will be bound in heaven whatsoever you loose on Earth will be loose in heaven and and it was Peter that he used the key on the day of Pentecost when they said men and brethren whato we do now um one one fell years ago on the radio I I course I I preached about every day he said there's a preacher out here on uh Pleasant Ridge Road said up all the mudes were dried up he wouldn't have anything to to preach of course we don't baptize in mud holes we got a nice baptistry but that was his way of kind of kind of cutting down what we preached well you'd have to say the same thing about Peter when they said men and breth what shall we do then Peter said unto them repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost so here we are we're talking about God called us to be holy and we can't be holy unless we obey what he said now let's go to the next verse verse three blessed be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ which according to His abundant Mercy now I Circle that in my notes according to His abundant Mercy hath begotten us again and to a lively Hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead in the the the book of Psalms the term his mercy endureth forever is mentioned 71 times in one book his Mercy endur forever now while we preach the essentiality of believing obeying and be baptized let us not Overlook the fact he said according to His abundant Mercy now uh I preached a message uh I believe I entitled it uh how you'd recognize God if he didn't have a name and I read the one of the uh chapters in The Book of uh Psalms and again and again and again it told what he did he created the heavens and and for his mercy endureth forever and then it told another great thing God did and then it said for his mercy endureth forever and every magnificent fantastic thing that he did after David writing this after he said he did this then it said for because of his mercy endureth forever ever and I made up a a little uh story that if you met somebody coming down the road and he said I am God you're God how well I I hung the sun moon and stars you did well does your mercy endure forever I created the Seven Seas you did well that's good that's that to God but does your mercy endure forever you made Mount Everest you made all the you put all the fish in the sea and the birds in the air you did all of that yes I did well one more thing I want to know does your mercy endure forever because if your mercy don't you ain't the God that I serve because my God said because his mercy endureth forever aren't you glad you know a God give him a hand clap praise Hallelujah oh yes you do this you do that I want to know and you know we need to remember this as apostolics that that's one of the Premier things his Mercy now that don't mean that he goes against his word he wouldn't be a merciful god if he said one thing and then stand didn't didn't stand behind it it's merciful that when he says something he backs it up and stands with it and then he said hath begotten us again unto a lively hope what hope we have in the Lord Jesus Christ by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead I'm going to get to that and a little bit later about him being resurrected because our salvation and and our eternity depends on this man that rose from the dead verse four said to an inheritance Incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away and it's reserved in heaven for you who you who who are kept by the power of God through faith under salvation ready to be revealed in the last time now notice this next wherein you greatly Rejoice though now for a season if need be ye are in heaveness through manifold Temptations now he said it's not always going to be an easy Road you're going to have some Temptations you're going to have some some trials it's going to come now notice what it said wherein you greatly Rejoice uh though now for a season now I I put that for in seasons in both old type there are seasons that you're going to go through now he's letting them know that there's going to be some things that's not going to be so pleasant there's going to be seasons in your life that you're going to be like like like job you know he had everything I mean everything was his but then uh when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord Satan came also and God said have you considered my servant job there's none like him oh yeah but who wouldn't serve you you've put a fence around him you've hedged him in you've blessed him with everything and you take that heads down now then there were times that that that job was in question uh but let me tell you something there's going to be times that you're going to go through some things and but remember this weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the more Hallelujah weeping may endure for everybody's going to go through that sometime or another now my brother-in-law brother Carl didn't he uh when he got the Holy Ghost uh I never saw anybody so so full of you couldn't talk to him you you you could just poke your finger at him you start talking in tongues I'm not joking you he he was so full of the Holy Ghost and so blessed that it just start talk and he start talking in tongues and and my mother one day they got to talking and and she said now now Carl there'll be times that you're going to go through some trials and and she's not going to always be like it is today and he kind of got offended at my mother because he thought she she was talking doubt and negative but it wasn't long till he started going through some things and he saw that there are seasons of Sorrow there are seasons of Trials but remember this it's not going to last forever weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning and remember this whatever you're going through you're going to come out a winner on the other side what does Romans 8:28 say for we know don't think we know that all things work together for good to them that love God who are the called according to his purpose and I believe that and everything that comes my way I'm going to say it's going to turn out out to my [Music] good Paul writing one time and tell told about uh some of the trials he going through and it said uh I know this shall fall out to the furtherance of the Gospel I preached one time look out for the Fallout it's going to fall the devil might throw terrible things at you but when God gets through with it it's going to fall out to a bless I shall fall out to the furtherance of the Gospel I uh we we buried uh Katherine may this last week and I did the graveside service and it brought back memories to me uh she and her husband on the Copper Kettle restaurant used to be out here on on on Western Avenue in fact there's a little short Street there that's called coer Kettle Street and it was named after that restaurant and at at that time back in 1957 um when you start preaching when you're when you're 11 years old you haven't learned many trades I I I I didn't have any I could pick cotton but there wasn't much cotton to pick around over the country you live Southeast Missour and winter time I all I knew how to do is is pick cotton but when I came to Knoxville and started to start the church um I didn't have a job and didn't know what to get so I got a job selling vacuum cleaners and U I was going to Oak Ridge to sell vacuum cleaners that back during the Eisenhower Administration they called it Aire uh recession and not that I'm blaming him for it but any anyway um I had a flat tire out on Western Avenue a little two-lane road then and I changed the tire on that 56 Ford and uh got my hands all dirty and drove into the Copper Kettle restroom a and u uh used the restroom to wash my hands and sat down and ordered a cup of coffee and they got a little inquisitive about who I was what I was doing and I told them about um I was selling vacuum cleaners and I only sold the folks I may had appointments and if you make an appointment if I sell it you get $25 boy that they started getting me appointments and I started selling vacuum cleaners and uh Katherine may had a had a niece a and uh her father was a brick layer and when we started the church the building at the first we didn't even have a build it was under a tent um this this gentleman started laying the block for us and the brick and he said one day he said uh my daughter is having some real problems and she needs counseling you'd think you and your wife could counsel her and I said why we certainly would be glad to so he said well I'll tell her and she contacted us and sister M and I sat down and talked with her and her life was mixed up and and she was going through some real trials but we talked to her about the Lord what God could do and now now now this all started with a flat tire and dirty hands and a cup of coffee and a vacuum cleaner sales and and that young lady that we counsel that day uh today her grandson plays music here on this platform her name is Janette Lynn she became my secretary became uh uh daycare directress and and here after all these years all these years uh James and uh Jeffrey uh they're up here and and they're working for the Lord and Robbie he's in here sister Janette still comes she she was a secretary for 30 years and now then all things work together for good to them that love God let me tell you something don't let a flat toar discourage you don't let dirty hands discourage you God can take what you have and can make something meaningful out of it for we know that all things work together for them that love God well Hallelujah anyway to inheritance in corrupt run defile fadeth not away wherein you greatly Rejoice though now for a season if need be you're in heaviness through manifold Temptations if need be you're going to go through some trials if need be you're going to go through some trials that the trial of your faith being much much more precious than gold that perisheth though it be tried with fire might be found un praise and honor and Glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ now then the the the trials that you're going through is more precious than gold because it's doing something for you it's purifying you it's like gold and a fire that all the the the the trash and that which is not gold will be swept aside so when God let you go through something it's because he loves you and he's wanting to purify you and make you stronger in him now notice this the trial of your faith being much more precious than gold that perisheth though it be tried with fire might be found unto praise and honor and Glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ whom having not seen you love in whom though now you see him not yet believing you rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of Glory somebody wrote a song it is joy unspeakable and full of Glory Full that's one of the old time hymns we used to sing now in the the book of St John chapter 20 starting at verse 19 after after the crucifixion of Jesus and after his resurrection uh he appeared to to Mary Magdalene and the other the other women that came to the uh graveyard or came to the c or came to the tomb where Jesus was laid and and the body was gone and the angel said while seek you the living among the dead and then and then Jesus appeared to them and told them to go tell the Brethren that he had risen from the dead and so they told but they had problems believing it notice what it says in verse 19 then the same day at Eden being the first day of the week I'm reading St John 20 starting at verse 19 when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews came Jesus and stood in the midst and said to them peace be unto you and when he had so said he showed unto them his hands his side then were the disciples glad when they saw the Lord now Sister M made a made a remark some I don't know when it was but um made the remark that they they met with their own kind they met with their own and she just made a casual remark brother Carpenter and it meant so much to him that you you gather with your own people those who have like Precious faith those that will help increase your faith you don't hang around with doubters unbelievers but those who believe now they' gathered together and Je for fear of the Jews shut the door and Jesus just appeared right through the wall didn't even open the door then said Jesus unto them peace be unto you as my father ha sent me even so send I you and when he had said this he breathed on them and said unto them receive ye the Holy Ghost whosoever sins you remit they're remitted unto them and whosoever sins you retain they are retained but Thomas one of the 12 called digus was not with them when Jesus came now there's some reason this is but Thomas wasn't with them what happens to folks that don't stick with the crowd what happens to folks that I'm thinking about a little story Bishop Payne used to tell this this little boy that got the holy ghost in a Holy Ghost Church and the he was out in the field working and the Fells were making fun of him said aren't you you the aren't you the boy that's down there shouting and dancing talking in Tong with that crowd said yes sir so let's see you danc and shouting talking tongues for us he looked at said where's the crowd it it has a lot to do was standing with the right crowd but now notice this the other disciples therefore said unto him we've seen the Lord but he said to them except I shall see his hand except I see in his hands the print of the nails and put my fingers into the print of the nails and thrust my hand into his ey I will not believe have you ever noticed some folks take a great deal of pride of telling you what they don't believe I don't believe this and I don't believe that and it's seems to be a badge of some kind of uh uh character strength or something I don't believe until I wouldn't believe it unless this or that and the other and Thomas said I wouldn't believe unless I see the nail prints and to took my thing and thrust it into his side I would not believe now then 8 days later now I think about this it must have been a a sticky time 8 days he stayed with these other disciples and and heard them tell of the excitement of seeing Jesus seeing the prince of the nails in his hands the scar in his side and yet here he said them I don't believe him I don't believe it I don't he one of his disciples I don't believe it and after eight days again his disciples were within and Thomas with them then came Jesus I want to tell you something right here let me say this this there's a a spirit of Doubt when you don't stay in the house of God and stay with the saints of God you will you will develop a spirit of doubt and a spirit of criticism because you wasn't there be careful stand away from the house of God and stand away from the saints of God stay with the brethren stay with the sisters that believe the word a and we encourage one another then after 8 days again his disciples were with him and Thomas with them then came Jesus the doors being shut and stood in the midst and said Peace be unto you then he turned to Thomas and he said reach hither thy finger and behold my hands reach H thy hand and thrust it into my side and be not faithless but believing and Thomas answered and said unto him my Lord and my God one Lord one faith and one baptism and this was that one Lord the Bible say one Lord one faith and one baptism and now then Thomas said my Lord and my God Jesus saith unto him Thomas because thou has seen me thou Hast believed blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed don't be a doubter don't let don't let anybody put in your mind that it's some kind of quality to be a a doubter there's there's nothing wrong with with e examining the fruit but don't be one that's always uh I've heard folks the the Holy Ghost Falls and and somebody get oh I don't believe that person really got it and they have some don't doubt the Lord believe the Lord and worship God and thank God for what he has done and what he is going to do Jesus said to them Thomas because thou has seen me you believe blessed are they that have not seen and yet have believed let's be Believers you can believe and receive or you can doubt and do without I would rather be a believer and be a receiver and to be a doubter and to do without verse nine receiving the end of your faith even the salvation of your souls now we're skipping from verse 8 uh in in 1 Peter chapter 1 he said receiving the end of your faith even the salvation of your souls of which salvation the prophets have inquired and search diligently now stop and think about this the prophets prophesied things that was going to happen Isaiah said with stammering lips and other tongues would he speak to his people people and throughout the Old Testament prophets looked ahead and prophesied and now then Peter said that the Sal the prophets have inquired and searched diligently who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you searching what or what manner of things the spirit of Christ which was in them did signify when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the Glory that shall follow now they saw it by eye of Faith through the spirit of Prophecy now notice verse 12 unto whom it was revealed that not unto themselves but unto us they did Minister the things which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost which the with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven which things the angel desired to look into the prophets prophesied about it but they didn't get the Holy Ghost like you and I get it the Angels desired to look into it but they didn't you see they can't sing of been redeemed because they've never been redeemed they've never been lost like you and I were but now that we've got a testimony the prophets don't have we've got a testimony the Angels don't have because we were lost and and now that we have been reborn we've been born the second time we can sing I'm redeemed I'm redeemed oh Hallelujah give him a hand clap praise you just have to excuse me I I I I I get a little excited unto whom it was revealed that not unto themselves but unto us they did Minister the things which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the go gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven which things the Angels desire to look into no wonder Jesus said go ye therefore and teach All Nations he said baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Ghost Matthew 28:19 gives his version well the name of the father Jesus said I'm come in my father's name and your s receive me not if another would come in his name him you would receive so if you're going to find out the the the father you got to find out Jesus said I come in my father's name and then he said the Holy Ghost which is a comforter whom the father will send in my name now then that's what we got that blessed holy ghost that is Christ in you the hope of glory that is Jesus Christ in spirit form that fills this being Oh Glory Hallelujah wherefore G up the loins of your mind your mind needs a little a little uh setting your your your your mind needs to be taken care of wherefore G up the Lo bind up the mind that you listen to the right things be sober and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ as obedient children not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance but as he which hath called you is Holy so be ye holy in all manner of conversation oh how beautiful now Peter preached that great acts 238 message but now then we're moving up to a a deeper walk with God to understand there's going to be some negative things that's going to come but he's going to give us the power to overcome it as obedient children not fashioning yourselves according to the former lust in your ignorance and I fear that in this modern Latter Day folks are trying to to incorporate their religion with their worldliness when he said love not the world neither the things in the world if any man love the world or the things of the world the love of the father is not in him uh it's it's it's it's bad when the world gets churchy and the church gets worldly that's right we've got to be a holy church we've got to be set aside uh Pastor uh Whitley uh authored a book on the Symposium of Holiness and everyone would you you You' do well to if you can get that book I presume it's available if you get that book and read this Symposium of Holiness and find out all the great scriptures concerning Holiness and that is for the church today as obedient children not fashioning yourselves according to the former lust in your ignorance but as he which ha called you is Holy be so be ye holy in all manner of conversation um let let's let's come right down to the the old saying is nitty-gritty I have heard folks who have the Holy Ghost that you couldn't tell it by the way they talked I've heard folks talk in their conversation I heard a Catholic priest last Sunday morning on the TV made a statement that um I've heard many time before but I never heard a Catholic priest say it but he said if you were charged in a court of law with being a a Christian he said would there be evidence enough to convict you if you were accused of being a Christian I'm afraid some folks it would be indecisive that's whether or not they were a Christian so be holy in all manner of conversation but it is written be ye holy for I am Holy now you've heard me say this I'll repeat it uh you you think sometimes that anytime they talk about Holiness talking about the way you dress now I don't want to minimize modesty of dress and some folks don't want you to talk about it at all because they want to look like the world and act like the world and be like the world and there is a difference and I don't back up one inch from teaching Holiness of dress modesty and dress men and women but that also includes Holiness and how you live how you talk the the jokes you tell the things you laugh at and so forth are you are you being holy are you being holy when you get on the internet and and get into a spat with somebody and it's like the old years ago they used to talk about uh the the clothes line and then used to talk about the telephone and and folks gossiping now we've got the the the modern convenience of of the internet that you can sit down and start typing things and some people you've never seen and and you you'll allow yourself to reveal who you really are but he said to be holy in all manner of conversation and you'd be better off to stay off of that thing unless you could say something good and witness about the Lord and then even if you do that somebody else will get on there and will send something smart like to you and then that'll stir you up and then you'll send something back and you don't need to do that you you need to be holy in all manner of conversation but it is written be ye holy for I am Holy and if you call on the father who without respect a person judgeth according to Every Man's work pass the time of your soul Journey here in fear for as much as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers but with the precious with the precious with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot now just stop and think of the price that was paid for this church the Bible said that whom he has purchased with his own blood even ad monest we preachers Church to feed the flock of God over whom God has made you overseers whom God have purchased with his own blood you are a valuable commodity when you compare the price that was paid for us he thought an awful lot of us to shed his blood for us who verily was for ordained before the foundation of the world but was manifest in these last times for you who by him do believe in God that raised him up from the dead and gave him gave him glory that your Faith and Hope might be in godliness and I've had see there God raised him from the dead Jesus said destroy this Temple and in three days I will raise it up again who raised him God raised him from the dead who raised him Jesus raised himself from the dead because he said I and my father are one he has got himself in flesh and that's why he raised himself from the dead seeing you have purified your souls and obeying the truth through the spirit unto unfeigned love of the Brethren see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently let's dwell on that because we're running out of time but this is very important uh Jesus Says by this shall all men know that you're my disciples if you love God if you love to do Good Deeds no he said by this shall all men know that you're my disciples if you have love one to another the little scripture says let Brotherly Love continue is there a little something in that that we missing could it be that Brotherly Love is easier to begin that it is to continue when you there a lot of marriages break up because they don't realize that the it's not a honeymoon forever let let love not only begin but let it let it continue seeing you purified your souls and obeying the truth through the spirit unto unan that is Pure Clean uh unadulterated uh not hypocritical love of the Brethren see that you love one another with a pure heart and do it fently fently that is with feeling great warmth you and I need to love one another and show that love one to another being born again not a corruptible seed but Incorruptible for All Flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flowers of grass the grass wherewith and the flowers thereof falleth away but the word of the Lord endureth for ever and this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you would you stand to your feet with us please we Are Holy because we're serving a holy God and he said be ye holy as I am Holy and all manner of conversation show it in the way you treat one another show it in your love fervent love to one another you you you watch these apostolics um in my little song I had the verse that said she's sweet War womankind she's that way all the time and she takes time for all for both great and small and that makes her special you see and uh uh sister m is one of the most loving people and she cares for everybody sometimes I'm pwing at the ground let let let's go we got to go here we go go go and I tease her sometimes I can remember back when my papa cook were alive and he had preached and and her mother was just like her she had talked to everybody and brother Rose cook would lean up again the car say oh Carrie oh Carrie oh and sometimes when sister M busy talking to some I say oh Carrie let's go but I say it in love and I mean that from the bottom of my heart father we thank you tonight for this wonderful congregation we thank you for this great season
