Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

A Broken Tooth and a Foot out of Joint

  • The teacher opens the study by reading a short piece he wrote in 1969 on Proverbs 25:19: confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth and a foot out of joint.
  • Peter before Pentecost is his example of the unfaithful friend: he boasted of his allegiance, slept in Gethsemane while Jesus prayed, cut off the servant's ear, and then denied that he ever knew Jesus.
  • Jesus repaired Peter's damage, restoring the man's ear; and God eliminates the evidence of the old life altogether, casting our sins into the depths of the sea and remembering them against us no more.
  • Faithful friends are precious and rare: at the end Paul could say, only Luke is with me; for the child of God, to live is Christ and to die is gain, so we are winners either way.

Scriptures: Proverbs 25:19; 2 Timothy 4:11; Philippians (book-only, as spoken)

Covered by the Blood: The Beginning of Months

  • Tonight's lesson is 'Covered by the Blood,' from Exodus 12: God spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, and said, This month shall be unto you the beginning of months — the first day of a new life.
  • Egypt began as a free ride for Israel and ended in slavery; so the devil lures people into the world with free pleasures, and they wake up slaves in the land of Egypt.
  • His own father longed for the Holy Ghost yet kept going back for the pack of cigarettes he had thrown away on the way to the altar, until the night in Dexter, Missouri, when he finally received the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
  • To be born again is to be like a newborn baby, with no past and only a future; there is a difference between making a decision for Christ and being born of water and of the Spirit.

Scriptures: Exodus 12:1-27

Our House Is Too Little for the Lamb

  • God told Moses to speak to all the congregation: he has something for everyone, which is why we must be in the house together, in one accord and in one place, enjoying the fellowship of God's people as they did after Pentecost.
  • If the household was too little for the lamb, the neighbor was brought in to help eat it; our house is too little for this Lamb, for John saw Jesus coming and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
  • The apostles framed the new dispensation carefully: Barnabas vouched for Paul when the disciples were afraid of him, and the Jerusalem council refused to lay the burdens of the old law on the Gentiles, because Jesus Christ has become the Lamb for the whole world.
  • The calling to preach must be God's own: hands are not to be laid suddenly on anyone, and a young person must not be loaded with a call that God has not given.

Scriptures: Exodus 12:1-27; John 1:29; Acts 9:26-28; Acts 15:1-2

When I See the Blood, I Will Pass Over You

  • Every house killed its own lamb; the blood was struck with hyssop on the two side posts and the upper doorpost, and the flesh was eaten roasted with fire, with loins girded, shoes on their feet and staff in hand — the Lord's Passover eaten in haste and urgency.
  • God said, When I see the blood, I will pass over you: that night the firstborn died in every house in Egypt, Egyptian or Israelite, where the blood had not been applied.
  • For seven days no leaven was to be found in their houses — leaven is sin; and there is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
  • The day was kept as a memorial and taught to the children: we must train our children in the truth, keep them in the house of God, and stay ready, for the trumpet may sound at any time.

and praise the Lord everyone we greet you tonight in the wonderful name of the Lord Jesus Christ March the 18th 1969 the voice of Pentecost Proverbs 25 19. confidence in an Unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth and a foot out of joint anyone who's ever had a broken tooth or a sprained ankle will quickly understand the message of the wise man concerning unfaithfulness a broken tooth can be deceiving it may be perfectly painless until dependent upon when put under pressure or touch with the tip of a fork it can make you feel like the top of your head has blown off so it is with Unfaithful friends in time of trouble when friendship is put under stress hypocrisy and flattery explodes with hellish Fury Jesus suffered this painful problem with his disciples Peter was always ready to boast of his allegiance to the master but in the Garden of Gethsemane he couldn't stay awake and pray for one hour but when aroused by the armed Soldier soldiers Peter resorted to violence Jesus carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders had to take time out to perform a miracle to keep Peter out of jail to depend on Peter before Pentecost was like walking on a sprained ankle or eating with a broken tooth it wasn't much trying to walk him it wasn't trying to walk on the water if he wasn't trying to walk on the water he was quacking somebody's ear off with a sword the Lord saved Peter from drowning and put the man's ear back on only to have that Rascal turn right around and deny ever knowing Jesus with friends like Peter Jesus sure didn't need any enemies like Peter aren't we all a little rascally we get all fired up and make startling pronouncements or exceed our limitations just about the time we feel that we can walk on the water then God has no has to uh about the time we feel like walking on the Water God has no other quite like us and the slightest Ripple sends us bubbling to the bottom it is then I realize I'm not God's right hand but he's put out a joint a certain young man I have in mind whose wit wisdom and winning ways was almost God's smile personified has for some years been a broken tooth in the mouth of God one wonders how it must pain the heart of God to see some one with Talent ability and personality become an unsightly painful broken tooth tomorrow the smile of God just think such a one could have been a paralytic a debut or a but God entrusted some with more ability than others this makes it even more painful to see such a waste of God's resources the rich man after death was tormented in the Flames with the memory of a wasted life I wonder if the disembodied spirits of the deceased backslidden preacher Senator or composer will not burn with desire to preach just one more sermon to loved ones left behind are composed and sing one song that would become a magnet to draw others away from that place of Torment but then they have only a memory of what could have been no hands with which to play music no mouth nor voice with which to preach and sing a prisoner waiting for judgment when they will be given a supernatural body with which to endure the agonizing flames of an eternal hell that was a little message that I wrote in 1969 a broken tooth or a foot out of joint that is the Bible description of an Unfaithful friend that lets you know how valuable it is to have Faithful Friends uh the scripture just came to me separate table tonight I just mentioned the sister McCool and it wasn't because I had any burden on my heart or any particular thing on my mind but in the fourth chapter of second Corinthians Paul's last letter he was writing to Timothy and these words resonated to me quite vividly Paul said only Luke is with me now just that one little prayers think about that for just a moment only Luke is with me now we don't we don't know exactly what happened to the Apostle Paul but I do know this I do know the Apostle Paul wrote and said I am in a strait betweeks the two whether to remain with you are to go on and be with Christ Which is far better I know the Apostle Paul said for me to live is Christ but to die is gained we were visiting with sister Jeannie Massengill the other day and she's making arrangements for her funeral and she said I want the song there's a new a song out I hadn't even heard it yet the song said I'm a winner either way if I get healing or if I if I go or if I stay I get healing I get I'm a winner either way and that's exactly the way it is for a child of God if you're ready to go you you're a winner either way you can't lose because if you're going to be with the Lord Paul said to die is Christ into until he was came and I'm so glad I know him tonight well are you happy to say Amen are you ready to get into the word of the Lord tonight is Bible study when we go into the book and just look around I I like to think of these scriptures kind of like walking into a room and and you look around there's pictures on the wall and and there's a thermometer hanging there and and there's rugs on the floor there's things to catch your eye and I like to walk into the scriptures and whenever read one line I begin to look around and I begin to see things I didn't realize was there and the more I look at it the more things I see and it become so real and so vivid to me I find myself lost in this great great area of studying the word of the Lord uh tonight's lesson is entitled covered by the blood and I think it started somewhere way down in the chapter of Exodus the 12th chapter but I'd like to go back and and get a little of the the context and so we're going to start reading from Exodus chapter 12. and starting at verse 1. and I want to say again what great preaching we had this weekend my my my my what preaching we are enjoying these these men of God so bless me you know I can I could just sit back and listen to them and then I'd get enough ammunition to preach so I can handle all the good things all the crumbs that fall from the master's table I could get all of that what message uh what a message Pastor Anthony priest and uh Pastor Mark McCool brother uh Pastor Whitley they do such a great job all right let's go to Exodus chapter 12 starting at verse 1. and the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying and I I have put that in bold letters those words right there in the land of Egypt he spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Mo in the land of Egypt saying now that right there has a world of information in it who they were and where they were they were in in Egypt and why were they in Egypt how long had there been in Egypt well you remember Joseph went down to Egypt because his brothers out of out of jealousy tried to start the first to kill him and threw him in a pit and then took him out of the pit and sold him to some some Israelite Traders and and they wound up selling him to an Egyptian a rich man and the rich man must have been gone a lot of the time and he had a love Lord and wife had made a play for Joseph and Joseph rejected her advances she grabbed him by the coat and tried to drag him to her bedroom and he shed his coat and I've often said he lost his coat but he kept his character and that means more than anything and she started screaming and lied on Joseph and said that he had tried to cross her and it caused Joseph to wind up in prison and then in in prison they found out that he was a wise man could interpret dreams and he wound up prime minister of Egypt and then bind by you know your Bible readers if you've been attending church very much you know what happened after that uh when Joseph when Joseph's brothers came down to to buy food and you know all the The Saga the mystery and the excitement of that story but anyway it brought all of Joseph's brothers his father and mother down to Egypt and it was 430 years later a lot of time had gone by and the Bible said there there was a a a pharaoh that arose that noon up Joseph and now then what turned out what first was to be tax-free land and they were given a choice fertile uh land for their sheep and so forth but they wound up becoming slaves and this reminds me of what the devil does to people that he lures into the world and right off it's a it's a joyous thing it's an exciting thing almost nobody pays for their first puff of cigarette almost nobody pays for their first marijuana cigarette almost nobody pays for their first touch of cocaine it's usually a free free ride and man it is so exciting and you wind up down there in the land of age of a slave what started out to be a joyous journey and just they they even called it taking a trip a trip on marijuana a triple an LSD a triple uh this or that but he leads you down there into Egypt and the next thing you know you find yourself a slave my old father I I never knew of him to being a bad to drink I understand that he did drink when I was too little to even know about it but I do remember he was a heavy smoker and and after every mealed my dad was just automatically he'd go to his shirt pocket and pulled out a cigarette and and he he smoked a camel not that that the sand back then was you'd walk a mile for a camel and dad would would smoke and the bind by when we all I got the Holy Ghost and started preaching Bobby got the Holy Ghost and started preaching and and of course we we we don't have to preach against smoking anymore the doctors have pretty well done that and the the government's made laws it lets you know how dangerous it is you you pay more for insurance you pay more for a lot of things and and plus you don't get cigarettes for 15 cents pack anymore I understand but anyway you you find yourself in Egypt you find yourself a slave my old daddy you've heard me tell this but Dad told this and he wanted the Holy Ghost so bad he'd go down to the Altar and on the way to the office and back then we didn't have we didn't know what the air conditioning was and the windows would be raised it was in the summertime and he'd think take that pack of cigarettes and throw it out the windows he went to the Altar and he said he'd be down there praying for the Holy Ghost and worrying about it raining afraid it ran on that pack of cigarettes and after the service was over he'd get up and go back out there get down on his knees and feel around until he found that pack of cigarettes well you talk about being enslaved and the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt I want you to know there's a land of Egypt that a lot of folks have found themselves in and but God can speak to you the land of Egypt the good thing God the the night my dad got the Holy Ghost was in Dexter Missouri our very first Revival that my dad went with us and I went walked down the aisle and I pointed my finger at him and I had a lot of wisdom I said Dad if you don't quit them cigarettes and get the hold of us you're gonna die and go to hell I had a lot of wisdom I knew how to use kind of words I hadn't read that scripture yet about the preacher fighting acceptable words but it must have worked because my dad came to the Altar and in that Revival he got the baptism of the Holy Ghost but my point right here is the land of Egypt and then verse 2 now God The Exodus says and the Lord spake into Moses and Airline saying what did he say what here's what he said this month shall be unto you the beginning of months and it shall be the first month of the year unto you Egypt represents the world of bondage but it said this shall be the beginning of months the beginning of months represents the day we leave the world and start living for Christ this is the first day of your life we're like newborn babies when we get born again we have no past all we've got is the future a baby that's born has no past all this God is the future when you get born of the spirit you may have been a drunkard you may have been an alcoholic you may have been a drug addict I I I can't enumerate and and categorize enough sins that you could be guilty of but once you give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ that's why Jesus called it because they talked to Nicodemus you must be born again now there's a difference in making a decision for Christ and getting born again now this is right he God said to Moses this is the in and this month this is going to be the first month of your life this is the first year of your life this is the first day of your life Carol Magruder my first cousin put it like this I just started Living found me a brand new life change my direction washed away all my Strife I'm a newborn believer a holy infilling my loads getting lighter my rape days getting brighter I just start I just I just started Living if I had hope only in this world below I'd be covered with trouble there'd be no place to go but when I met Jesus and started believing I got filled with his love washed in his blood I just just I just started Living oh Moses and Aaron I'm going to tell you something today is the first day to forget everything else today you start your calendar off today everything else don't matter everything else is gone everything else is erased if you're accidentally erased something on your computer well I have I've I've raced whole sermons maybe the Lord wanted them erased I don't know but but I've erased things that that I and I couldn't get it back it just boom well I want you to know when a person comes to the Lord and they're living in sin and they've got all kind of record well the Holy Ghost comes in and you're just like a brand new baby that's been delivered in the delivery room and the doctor has to spank you one time to cause you to get your brother and you start crying and then you start living up until then it's all gone nothing give a little hand clap the book says he will cast your sins in the depths of the sea and would remember them against you no more now think about that remember them against you no more now if the devil tries to bring anything up about my past I dare him to bring the evidence because the Lord's already throated in the depths of the sea and put up an official sign I mean to tell you they can't find anything against me everything is from that it's a new day it's a new month oh this is the first day of your life Jesus said Nicodemus negative said good master click that died Jesus said nicknames this is cut to the Chase he said you must be born again born again what do you mean can I enter the second time to my mother's womb and be born Jesus said Nicodemus except a man be born of water and the spirit he cannot see the kingdom of God you've got to be born of water and the spirit there are three that bear record and Earth the water the spirit and the blood and these three agree in one and when you get that you are a brand new creature and there's nothing there's no evidence coloring I've got a I get a chuckle I I get a I read the Bible for fun and pleasure sometimes not just to study I get a it's the greatest love story it's the greatest uh uh mystery book it's full of war and strife and love and peace and all the good things you want to hear and and I like to read it for that contest and and what I read about Peter a little bit a little bit ago and period told Jesus all he was going to do for him stand by him and when they brought the crowd soldiers they they all had their sword clinging around and and when they got a hold of Jesus uh they were flesh got a horse of Peter and he grabbed a sword and you whacked that man's ear and he was a servant of the high priest and that was a serious charge that was a that that would be considered assault with a deadly weapon but the intent to commit murder and Jesus said Peter put away the sword and he reached out and picked up the the man's ear and like I in my mind of my imagination he shook the dirt off of it stuck it back on his head there he was I mean instantly just I mean and it wasn't that that Miracle glue it was just him but it wasn't even a scar there and I have thought about that so many times there's been all kind of ways uh devised for people to hide their sin or hide their crime they they've disassembled I don't know brother uh Greg McCool when he came to the little Lord he was running from God making music in bars and Honky Tonks and and a terrible situation in his life till he turned over the Lord and he got on the school bus with a pistol and and got his uh little girls off of the school bus and got him in the car him and his wife were separated and he took off with those with those children and you know he was in for some terrible terrible uh penalties and he disassembled that gun and and as he went down the road he threw a trigger this way and through Maryland when they were in and and it just distributed that that pistol all up and down uh miles and miles and miles to make it uh impossible for them to find the evidence and that might have been considered a little shrewd and I don't know how to turn out I know it turned out that it didn't have to go to prison somehow God had it planned for him to be a singer and preacher and and and and lead people to the Lord which he has done and and but anyway but you talk about eliminating the evidence that man standing there with their ear on the side of his head and he gets a warrant for the arrest of Peter that man cut my ear off and I go before the judge and told the judge judge this man here I I charge he cut my ear off he was trying to cut my throat and he couldn't the judge would say you cut your ear off he did you you did he just wound no he cut it off it fell off in the ground he did well let's see the wound that ear that's on the side of your head he cut it off yeah he did this man right here that we're getting ready to crucify telephone white coat come and get the spell that guy's still got his ear you talk about eliminating the evidence I want you to know God eliminates the evidence of all the bad that's why you're born again that's why you're born again because that old creature that did all the mean is that he is dead he's buried in the sea and God said he would remember our sins against us no more [Applause] Hallelujah well let's go on verse 3 said speak ye unto all the congregation I get so many things out of the verse of scripture I can get more down in in one verse speak ye unto all and I underline that word all you know it's important that we speak to all the church it's hard to speak to all the church when all the churches don't show up isn't it it is I'd a lady many years ago when I was a young preacher she she quit coming to church and I I went to visit her and find out something wrong and she said were you a young man said you you just can't feed me and she was right because I I didn't have a Carryout Service to feed her I had to chase her down but she thought I couldn't feed her what she could have been fed uh Paul told Timothy let no man despise thy youth if she'd have been there the Holy Ghost would have fed her if she had been there and God told to Moses to speak to all the congregation God's not got something for this group I've ever heard but he don't have it for you or but God's got something for every one of the churches and that's why it's important that we be there the Jesus would go to the highways and the hedges and compel them that they come in that my house may be full he wants his house to be full and and that's it he won't now you you may be in another room you may be maybe in another class and that's still yet being in the in the house of the Lord but he said forsake not now let me hold on here a minute I'm not preaching against uh the old lines I think thank God for we we've got that and and when I'm out of town myself I watch the services I thank God for that uh invention but God doesn't intend for you to stay home and watch the service if you're able to come thank God if you're not able to be here if you're sick or there's some reason thank God that you can turn that around I'm talking to folks right now that's watching uh online and thank God for God bless you out there I I appreciate you watching but he didn't say for you to to set home and watch this when you can get there if you're able to get to the house of God there's you see there's more to being in the service of God than just hearing preaching for us to be together and enjoy the fellowship of each other after the day of Pentecostal they went from house to house breaking bread and they had Fellowship one with another one of the Glorious things about the Christian Life is our sharing with each other now you may not jump up and testify and and you may not shake hands with me or the next but being here together and enjoying the atmosphere of the presence of God is so wonderful on the day of Pentecost the Bible said when the dead Pentecost was full of God they were all in one Accord and and in one place and there came a cell from Heaven as of a rushing Mighty Wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting and there appeared unto them clothing tongues like as a fire and it's set upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with tongues and magnify God that's what he wants it he wants us to be together so so the Holy Ghost alive oh hell oh praise the Lord don't you don't you feel the presence of the Lord in this beauty this is so wonderful praise God rather be in this service is better having you here I'm so glad I I mean that with Ben Walker God bless you all right so speaking to all the congregation officials saying in the 10th month of this month they in the in the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb according to the house of their fathers a lamb for a house and if the household be too little for the lamb let him and his neighbor next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb now in in plain English plain language if there's not enough in your house to consume a whole you're not going to waste the lamb he he will it does not allow the lamb to be wasted and he said if there's not enough in your house to eat the lamb you go next door and get enough people in your house that you can eat all of the lamb now I want to tell you something our church our church our house is too little for the lamb we must invite others to share with us the Lamb of God John said in John 1 29 the next day John said Jesus coming and to him and said Behold the Lamb of God was taketh away the sins of not Pleasant Ridge Road or not north side of Knoxville are not a certain Community but it said Behold the Lamb of God if we're taken away the sins of the world world I want you to know this house is too little for this in the lamb this lamb is sufficient to feed the whole world to convert and save the whole world and our house is too little for the lamb and we must go to the next door and the next door and the next door to the next door and find men and women boys and girls that don't know Jesus and get them inside the house and let them help us eat the lamb let them help us consume land it's for everybody [Applause] oh praise God our house is too little for the lamb and then he said your lamb shall be without blemish a male of the first year you shall take it out from the sheep or or from the goats now the Care with which the apostles framed the new dispensation of the Plan of Salvation should be noted at this point right here in my opinion these are my notes even Paul had to have a witness of his conversion before he was accepted by the other Apostles now before I go further I understand that I will be sounding almost self-contradictory because there's two sides to what I'm about to say and what I am about to teach there is a difference in someone being called to preach the gospel or teach the gospel and someone that's lost in sin that needs to repent and the Bible said lay hands suddenly on no man and that means to to anoint them as an elder or minister of the Gospel lay him suddenly on on no man and um farbed for me I I'm I'm I'm a little bit uh careful get this I saved uh to call somebody up and tell them they're called to preach to me I think it's a dangerous thing because um uh if I get Young Folks you can get we you can get all happy and thrilled at the moment you feel like you can do anything brother balostero was preaching a camp meeting with him up in Kentucky years ago and he was a well-known preacher in his day and he said that one night and they was having a great service and said there was a brother up in the choir said he was just so happy so he'd come jumping over that Rail and leaped over the pulpit and landed in the floor on his stomach bam and so forth and said he came to me after church said brother would you pray for me so I've hurt myself and brother balusters brother I said what what happened to you tonight what he said brother he said I got something he said I really thought I could fly he said I thought I could fly now this really happened now he told this in the camp meeting he and I were preaching together I thought and you get a crowd of people you get folks of different mentality and and you start playing on the emotions folks can think this and this and I don't want to call anybody to preach God has to do the calling to preaching because first of all if I if I tell a young person that they're called a preacher that and the other I may Place upon them the dreaded weight the Dreadful weight of preaching the gospel that they'll have to live with it that maybe that it it may really hamper their walk with God because they don't feel the call because I feel like they dressed and I said to look and I said can you give a good testimony well God can do the calling I I I'll preach the gospel and I'll support you and we'll pray for you but let's let God take care of the the calling even Paul had to have a witness of his conversion in Acts 15 1-2 it says and certain men which came down from Judea taught the Brethren and said except you be circumcised I've got them and the wrong scripture that I wanted to read just a minute let me let me get it for you because when when Paul uh went up to Jerusalem to join the apostles they would not accept in the Bible said they were they were afraid of him because he had such a such a bad reputation and Barnabas had to come to his Aid and Barnabas came up before the other said I know this man he had a he's got a real experience with God and then they accepted him but I've got that scripture in the wrong place right now but anyway what I'm what I'm about to say is that they did examine him and then acts 15 1-2 and certain men which came down from Judea taught the Brethren and said except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses you cannot be saved when therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them they determined that Paul and Barnabas and certain others of them should go up to Jerusalem to the unto the apostles and Elders about this question now what we're talking about now I purpose this with this statement that that we we need to examine that the apostles they were a very careful laying the foundation for the the the new dispensation now there were Pharisees that got converted and there were good but they were holding to the Old Law of Moses that they believed you you had to be circumcised to be saved even certain men came down from Judea and taught the Brethren said except to be circumcised after the manner of Moses you cannot be saved when therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with him they determine that Paul and Barnabas have certain others of them should go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and Elders about this question now uh acts 9 26 and when Saul was coming to Jerusalem he is saying to John himself to the disciples this was the scripture that I had to uh out of place and when Saul would come to Jerusalem he has saved to join himself to the disciples but they were all afraid of him and believed not that he was a disciple but part of us but Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles and declared on them how he had seen the Lord in the way and that he had spoken to him and how he had preached boldly at Damascus and of the same Jesus and he was with them coming in and going out now my point of that they're establishing the New Testament Church and in the New Testament Church they had their the apostles and James seemed to be the the the chief spokesman because when they went up to Jerusalem to have a council about the the subject of circumcision first one then the other Peter spoke talked about how God used him Paul spoke out and then James he gave his he said my sentence is this we don't need to lay heavy burdens on these new the Gentiles of of burdens that we were not able to keep and they're not going to be able to keep now he was referring to the Old Law about you know you couldn't pick up a stick on the Sabbath day and you couldn't do this you couldn't do that and you had to give your your animal sacrifice it's been replaced by a new dispensation Jesus Christ has now become the lamb for the whole world you no longer have to give a a bullock or a goat or a sheep we now John said the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world you don't just push it ahead one year and come back another year and give another sacrifice he's now then shed his blood on Calvary oh give him a hand clap praise [Applause] you may even for getting happy now this lamb is talking about and you shall keep it up until the 14th day of the same month and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening no one said the whole congregation up until this time only the the priest or the high priest could would kill the lamb but now then there's something happening they're getting ready to leave Egypt and and no longer is it just the the high priest that can kill the lamb everybody the head of the house can kill the lamb because every house had to go out and get the lamb and they put it up and they kept it they fed it until it was ready to give for something important was about to happen and they shall take of the blood now let me read it again and you shall keep it up until the 14th day of the month and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening every house is going to have a lamb and the head of the house will kill the lamb and they shall take of the blood and strike it on the two sides post and on the upper door posts of the houses where they shall eat it and they shall eat the Flesh and that night roast with fire and unleavened bread and with bitter herbs they shall eat it eat not of it raw nor Sodom at all with water but roast with fire his head with his legs and with all the Futures thereof and ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning and that was remaineth of it until morning shall be burnt with fire and thus shall you eat it with your loins girded and your shoes on your feet and your staff in your hand and you shall eat it in haste it is the Lord's Passover now let me pause right there just a minute verse 11. he's telling them that they're to eat this lamb it's got to be roasted it can't be boiled in water it's got to be roasted and then they got to eat it with their shoes on their robe girded around them they're stabbed in their hand now what he's doing he's pointing out the absolute urgency of the hour the urgency of the moment something is fixing to take place we can't be late sleepers we can't be dragging around we can't be reading the novel we can't be listening to Paul Harmon news we can't be we I'm not preaching against anything now other than right now he wants an attitude of urgency to be implanted in his people because I'm getting ready to leave this world I'm getting ready for the gates of pearl keeping my record right watching both day and night I'm I'm getting ready oh Hallelujah I'm getting ready to leave this world I ain't got time to stop and tarry ain't got time to stop and Terry you see I ain't got time to go next door and apologize for something I got into it with a neighborhood I ain't got time to go apologize for gospel about somebody ain't got time you see I've got to have my clothes already my shoes on I gotta have my staff I'm ready to go Hallelujah the trumpet may sound any better haha oh Hallelujah these these praise singers get up here and they start singing and I'm telling you if it don't stir you you better check your pulse because it makes me a man alive I'm getting rid of that they let me know that there's something exciting going on I'm getting ready to leave this world it's just it could be any time well let me go on where was I and thus shall you eat it with your loins girded your shoes on your feet your staff in your hand and you shall eat it in haste it's the Lord's Passover now what they've done they have killed the lamb they've roasted it but the blood of that lamb they caught that blood in a basin and they took a branch it's called a hyssop Branch it's a Springleaf plant and they they take that and they dip it in that blood and each side of the door they they take that and sprinkle on each side of the door and then the little over the that they spread over the top Christ Our Redeemer died on the cross died for The Sinner paid all this dude and the old son goes on to say and when I see the blood I will pass I will pass over you God said when I see the blood I'm going to send the Death Angel and the firstborn of every house in Egypt now that is Egyptian or Israelite if there was a negligent Israelite if there was a disobedient Israelite that would not kill the lamb and it would not take the blood and sprinkle it on each side of the door and the door pulse you know if they didn't do it at midnight an angel the death angel came over and every house that did not have the blood applied to the doorpost and the linen the firstborn and that family would die even the cattle the first boy everything in Egypt the firstborn would die that's why you better give close attention because you better be ready to participate and I will pass through the land of Egypt this night and I'll Smite all the firstborn of the land of Egypt both man and beasts and again all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment I am the Lord and the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses which you are and when I see the blood I will pass over you and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt and this day shall be unto you for a memorial and ye shall keep in a feast unto the Lord throughout your Generations you shall keep it a Peace by an ordinance forever seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread even the first day ye shall put away 11 out of your houses for whosoever eateth leavened bread for the first day until the seventh day the soul shall be cut off from Israel now uh what we should get the meaning of this is the great importance of obeying exactly what he said now the the 11 represents evil remember represents sin and the bread at that particular time uh he said you can't eat bread that has 11 in it and he's getting us ready to leave Egypt to go to the promised land is he getting us ready to leave the land of bondage to the promised land today the day in which we live we're seeing a lot of evil around us there's a lot of leavening everywhere you look but the time has come we need to leave the leavening off and get ready because Midnight Hour is just about here Midnight Hour just about here we don't know when it is because everything we we read and hear if you read the the seventh chapter or the of the The Book of Romans and the first chapter you'll see what a terrible condition the world is in then you read the eighth chapter of Romans you'll see what happens when it says starts it even starts out in the eighth chapter there is therefore now no condemnation to them which you are in Christ Jesus who walked not after the flesh but after the spirit all right and in the first day there shall be a holy convocation in the seventh day there should be a holy conversation to you no no manner of work shall be done to them say that whichever man must eat the only that only may be done of you and ye shall observe the Feast of unleavened bread for in this self-same day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt wherefore shall ye observe this day in your Generation by an ordinance forever in this first month now keep that in mind this is the first month the first day of the first month of our life is when we leave the world of sin and the first month of the 14th day of the month and even you shall eat unleavened bread until the 1 and 20th day of the month at even seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses for whosoever eateth that which is living even that Soul shall be cut off from the generations of Israel whether it be a stranger or born in the land you shall eat nothing leavened and all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread now stop and think about what we're saying there's some things that God tells us not to eat not to touch not to taste touch not taste not there's some things that God forbids us we are in the world but we are not of the world and we live among the world we are friends to men and women who are sinners but we're not friends to sin then Moses called for all the Elders of Israel said unto them draw out and take you a lamb according to your families and kill the Passover and you shall take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the Basin and strike the little and the two posts the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin that and none of you shall go out the doors of the house until the morning for the Lord shall pass through to Smite the Egyptians and when he seeth the blood upon the little and on the two side posts the Lord shall pass over the door and will not suffer and Destroy to come in unto your houses to Smite you and you shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy Sons forever and so come to pass when you come to the land which the Lord will give you according as he hath promised that ye shall keep this service and it shall come to pass when your children shall say unto you what many by this service then you shall save it is the sacrifice of the Lord's Passover who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when he smote the Egyptians and delivered our houses and the people bowed the head and worship we just stand your feet with me please as you notice this when they cross the river of Jordan and God cut off the stream uh he told Joshua to have them every uh took a man from uh every tribe 12 tribes and put up a a monument on the bank and the one in the river and said when your children shall ask God is specifically reminding us to be ever conscious of training our children what we are taught I hear what I'm saying are you hearing what I'm saying um I I am let me say this in the right way um it's not the greatest compliment when somebody tells about their child growing up the single thing and going to a denominal church and becoming a deacon or whatever that doesn't thrill me I I certainly don't want to see him a drug addict or an alcoholic or what have you but we need to be sure we have them here in the house of God and teach them the truth about Jesus the Mighty God the Everlasting father the Prince of Peace we train up a child and we should go to his altar he'll never we need to in this whole business of letting a child make his own mind up whether or not he goes to church do you let him make his mind up whether or not they go to school do you let them make their mind up whether or not they want to take a bath do you let them make the mind of where they want to eat their vegetables or just eat nothing but sweets we teach them what they need to know for good health well we need to teach them what it means to come to the house of God be regular and be faithful to the house of God father we thank you tonight for the word of God we thank you for the truth we thank you for the wonderful thrilling Spirit of excitement we think that we are getting ready to leave this world that it may be today it could be before our next service the trumpet may sound father we've read all the signs and we confess that we don't know all the signs we don't know all the meanings but we believe the time is short and I pray Lord that you'll keep us conscious of the fact that we must have a sense of urgency and be ready to meet you if you should come or call at any time dismiss us from this place but not from your presence in Jesus name we pray amen say cans be friendly bump elbows no whatever you're dismissed in Jesus name
