Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

The Text: The Manna Ceased at Gilgal

  • Erickson reads Joshua 5:10-12: Israel keeps the Passover at Gilgal, eats the old corn of the land, and the manna ceases the next day; he stresses verse 12 again on its own.
  • The manna was God's provision for a season, not the promise He had sworn to give His people.
  • His thesis: it is time to break the manna mentality - the habit of settling for provision instead of pressing on to the promise.

Scriptures: Joshua 5:10-12; Joshua 5:12

Murmuring in the Wilderness of Sin

  • Thirty days out of Egypt, Israel is in the wilderness of Sin murmuring against Moses and Aaron and longing for Egypt's fleshpots.
  • Cross-referencing Numbers 11:5, he lists what they missed - fish, cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic - and marvels at how quickly deliverance is forgotten.
  • God answers with bread from heaven, a certain rate every day, given to prove whether they will walk in His law or not.
  • Manna means 'what is it': gathered fresh daily, good for that day only, baked into a honey-wafer-tasting bread - and never God's final intent for His people.

Scriptures: Exodus 16:2; Numbers 11:5; Exodus 16:4

Provision Is Not the Promise

  • From John 6 he contrasts the fathers who ate manna in the wilderness and are dead with the living bread which came down from heaven - Jesus Himself, whose flesh is given for the life of the world.
  • Exodus 13:5 states the actual promise: a land flowing with milk and honey, both of which have to be produced by the people's work - God promised a productive land, not mere subsistence.
  • Do not let what God gives as a provision satisfy you as though it were the promise He made to Abraham and to Moses.

Scriptures: John 6:48-51; Exodus 13:5

The Side Effects of Manna

  • Using a box of honey buns and its long ingredient and side-effect list as an illustration, he preaches the side effects of manna: complacency, idleness, contentment, and satisfaction - a 'just enough' mentality.
  • A just-enough mentality shows up in prayer life, Bible reading, church attendance, marriage, and witnessing: doing only what is needed to appear spiritual.
  • Manna that people tried to store up bred worms and rotted overnight; provision was never meant to be hoarded as a substitute for the promise.
  • Prayer must become breakthrough prayer: pray until you weep, until joy comes, until you hear a word from the Lord - whatever it takes to get through, every time you pray.

Breaking the Mentality at Gilgal

  • Step one is faith: back at Joshua 5:1, Israel's faith has melted the hearts of the kings which were on the side of Jordan and the kings of the Canaanites by the sea; he adds Hebrews' witness - without faith it is impossible to please God, Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith, and we are saved by grace through faith.
  • Step two is covenant renewal: at Gilgal every male is circumcised after forty years of neglect (Joshua 5:2), and God rolls away the reproach of Egypt (Joshua 5:9), lifting the slave self-image off His people.
  • He re-reads Joshua 5:10-12 for the close: thank God for the manna, but refuse to settle for it - the fruit of the land nourishes believers to reach a lost world, as the day's mission reports showed.
  • The message ends with an altar appeal: break through in heart and mind, and refuse contentment in prayer life, Bible reading, church attendance, marriage, and outreach.

on the fourteenth day of a month at even in the plains of Jericho and they did eat of the old court of the land on the morrow after the Passover unleavened cakes and parched corn in the self-same day verse 12 is what I want to focus on and the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land neither had the children of Israel manna anymore but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year again verse 12 the manna ceased neither had the children of Israel manna anymore here's what I have tonight but I believe that God has given me for the service I together coalition's plays in this house oh come on I'll lift up your voice and lift the little praise with the hand clap Oh God speak O God for your servant heareth Oh God Oh speak to us O God tonight in Jesus name you may be seated just give you a little history of our text tonight and what I read for opening scripture text it was exactly one month after the children of Israel exited out of Egypt the Bible says with our high hand I will talk about the Egyptians they watched him leave here's your lights as they walked through the streets and they they exited the great exodus out of Egypt they watched him leave the Bible says with a high hand but it wasn't thirty days later that they found themselves in what the Bible calls the wilderness of sin the wilderness of sin was a it was not a place where sin was taking place it was actually called the wilderness of sin and I find it hard to believe that anything positive could happen in the wilderness miss of sin and and it did not as a matter of fact there was a lot of grumbling and complaining there was a lot of people who were murmuring against the man of God they there was a lot of people that had found themselves unhappy with their circumstance they had what what I would would look at as short-term memory loss they found themselves where once they were dancing on the other side of the Red Sea and they're watching Pharaoh and his army and the chariots sink to the bottom of the sea and drowned they were finding themselves complaining because they didn't have the food that they wanted to eat it was just a 30 day journey from the world to the land of sin that was located outside the world their sin that takes place outside the world not just back in Egypt but but even either to chase them if you're a new convert here today if you just got the Holy Ghost if you're newly baptized and I thank god those are about ties today if you're a new convert in this place let me tell you something there's sin that could happen even on the outside of Egypt you can leave Egypt and find yourself in the wilderness of sin I find it I'll find it that it's easier to get people out of the world than it is to get the world out of people just part of life that that you're always working on and the Bible says in Exodus 16 and 2 that the whole congregation kind of sounds like a church service the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in this wilderness and the two dividual said unto them would to god we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt when we sent by the fleshpots well that sounds appetizing to me and when we did he bread to the full for you have brought you've brought us forth into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger i cross-referenced in numbers chapter 11 verse 5 when it talks about this this flesh pot it talks about this food from Egypt and they said we remember when we had fish we could eat in Egypt freely the cucumbers in the melons and the leeks and the onions and the garlic I don't know about you but that doesn't sound very appetizing to me leeks and onions and garnet that sounds like a bunch of bad breath to me something needs a tic tac but in Exodus chapter 16 and 4 when we kind of realized that that the people of God were complaining and were we're looking back at Egypt as if it was some great thing but let me tell you something in the world that we can look back to and think that some great thing has come out of the world or some great thing is still back in the world to be left but we serve a God who's bringing us out of the world to give us a much better end so then Sid the Lord on to Moses he said behold I will rain bread from heaven for you and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day that I may prove them whether they will walk in my law or no so Moses instructs the people to gather what was cold and over it was about what we would consider two quarts worth they would gather every day each person would gather for himself in Omer full he would gather this food there was only good for that present day it was not good for tomorrow it was not good for next week every day they came and gathered enough food to sustain them for the day the word manna we know that the word manna in Hebrew means what is it what is it they they saw it on the ground and and they looked and it filled with the dew and when the dew would rise up and come up in the ground they when the dew would dissipate they would see this what they said what what what is it and they found a way that they could gather it matter-of-factness I've always thought and I've always read the Bible to believe that that actual bread would fall out of heaven but that's not really what happened it was like a white being subsisted they would crush down and they would bake bread with this with this substance it turned into kind of a paste then they would they would bake a bread from this paste and they they they figured out how to make a small round loaf of bread and the Bible says that that that loaf of bread that small of a bread kind of had a a honey wafer taste a honey way for taste and so I figure today uh we're gonna rain down some manner okay here we go guys come on there we go if you nothing else out in this sermon somebody's gonna get happy right here somebody's gonna get wrong oh hey hey like it wasn't seeing is like get over the camera Oh got it oh here we go listen man are laying down made me take so the first day this stuff rain down we had some people they were excited we had some people that were pumped over the holland here you go buddy this was the excitement that they felt because they hadn't been eatin anything like this they may have been starving they had been looking for food and in all of a sudden I'm looking at you and I see eyes are all bright man every smile it was like whoo honey but that's what they felt but we realized that they had to eat these honey buns for 40 years every day for 40 years now listen honey buns sound good today but by day number 6 honey buns don't sound don't sound very good but man that it feels good it was a good thing they didn't have to work for their food they they didn't have to worry about their children that they'd have food to eat they they didn't have to worry about hunger pains and pains of discomfort their worries were over because they had honey buns no longer did they murmur against their pastor and they didn't murmur against their leadership and for a short period of time they were satisfied at least for now and I believe this man a pastor was a form of grace we've been we've been preaching on grace on Sunday mornings because I don't know about you but a God did hurt murmuring and complaining from his people and still showed enough grace in order to say I will rain food out of heaven to feed you to sustain you that's the grace of God that's a type and shadow of of people like you and I who may not deserve grace but I thank God for the grace I thank God for the man of the Donna I thank God for the daily bread give us this day our daily bread John 6 and 40s said I am that Bread of Life your father's did eat manna in the wilderness and are dead this is the bread which cometh down from heaven that a man may eat thereof and not die he said I am The Living bread which came down from heaven If any man eat of this bread he shall live forever in the bread that I will give is my flesh which I will give for the life of the world I don't know about you but I'm thankful for the daily bread I'm thankful for the New Testament Living bread I'm thankful for a savior that came out of heaven and came down to earth huh the bread of life huh who gave himself his flesh gave himself for us and I'm sure the Israelites were thankful for their daily bread or at least they were for a little while no doubt the manna was a miracle no doubt he was divine and it was good but this is what I've come to preach about tonight it was not God's best it was not the will of God to feed his people manna for 40 years in a wilderness we don't need to settle for what God gives as a simple provision as if God gave it as a final promise don't let provision take the place of promise understand again don't allow provision what God gives as a provision to satisfy us for a moment or complaining we can't look at that as if it's the promise that he's promised us because it is not he promised us a land flowing with milk and honey I don't want this man of mentality where I get so comfortable with what I get every day did I forget about it's not really the promise that he's promised I that is not really the promise that he's promised us it keeps us from being hungry I understand it keeps us from complaining I understand but it's not what God promised Abraham and it wasn't what God promised Moses it was simply a provision for a moment of time let's say I'm to Quito I'm gonna drive that home all night because if you missed that point there's too many people that aren't happy with manna three people got their honey bun or happy with their honey bun and don't realize that that was never what God intended for his church me read about his promise in Exodus 13 and 5 it says and it shall be when the Lord shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites the Hittites the amorite s' the Hivites and the Jebusites which he sware which he promised unto thy fathers to give thee a land flowing with milk and honey notice something that milk and honey are not natural substances of the land both have got to be produced God didn't promise wild fruit treats he promised some wild vineyards of them come upon he didn't even promised fields with went out of control vegetation God said I'm gonna give you the land I'm going to name the people I'm gonna give the land up these Canaanites and these Hittites and these animal rights and Hittites and Jeb you sites it and he said not only will I give you the land but I'm gonna give you the things they've been working on inside of the land I'm talking about the honey I'm talking about the milk the David they've got cattle they've got cows and they've been milking cows and I'm gonna give you everything that they produce milk and honey don't settle for something you can't even define what what is this something that tastes like honey but is not honey now listen the manna was not the promise but the Israelites were content because their hunger was fixed temporarily but here is where the temporary fix becomes an even bigger issue than the original problem because there were side effects of this mana that began to take effect on the consumer I cut out the back of the box of a Little Debbie honey buns and it first of all let me let me describe to you how they describe their honey buns it's a soft golden pastry baked with a touch of honey and cinnamon then finished with a sweet glaze oh my getting hungry somebody already somebody already done broke into their pack and they're sneaking it in a little piece at a time I'm looking for you but let me read about these these honey buns and let's see if you still are interested in eating them after I tell you what's inside of it see walmart.com they said we got them in single serve we got them in the family pack and we got them in the but if you're allergic to tree nuts don't eat them listen my wife tells me if you can't pronounce it don't eat it sister Poehler is that right yes if you cannot pronounce it you probably shouldn't eat it probably shouldn't eat it because I couldn't pronounce half those words but let me tell you the possible side effects let me tell you that this is this is walmart.com possible side effects of manner blood sugar spike cavities weight gain hello heart attack diabetes heart disease stroke and many other side effects due to preservatives it's too many to list that he said there's a whole lot more we shall read eat our honey buns ready listen there's side effects to eating mannitol so I can't tell you what ingredients are in the man of it was rained down upon the children of Israel but I could sure tell you some side effects because the children of Israel suffered from them side effects of complacency in idleness contentment satisfaction they felt fulfillment from eating this they settled for a provision they got their focus off their promise no listen let me preach to you this for a moment our walk with God has got to be so much more than a just enough mentality that's what manna breeds is that just enough mentality if I can get just enough if I can listen if I can just get just a little bit when our God tells us I am more than enough I'm not just enough my God is more than enough he can't supply all my needs he is my else should I listen up I'm not throwing off on God I'm not throwing off of what he what he rained down from heaven I'm not throwing off on that all I'm saying was it was temporal and they made it longevity they took something that was meant to sustain him for a few days and they lived for 40 years eating nothing but man you may be seated god help us god help me I don't know why you vital I don't serve a kind of God who's just enough God just enough guy to hold my marriage together well I feel sorry for you when you could have a great marriage but you settle for just a ordinary marriage just enough God to keep my children from rebelling now listen I'm not interested on how spiritual they are I just want to make sure they don't rebel on me I want to make sure they don't get on drugs I want to make sure that I'll marry the wrong person I don't really care about all this spiritual stuff all this Bible Quiz and just enough God to stay in church oh oh god I hope they don't notice that I don't volunteer for anything I just kind of sit on a Pew I hope they don't notice that I I never go out to bust ministry I never volunteer to be a sunday-school teacher I never volunteer to work in the youth class I never volunteer on a men's workday I I hope they just realize I'm just trying to get to heaven leave me alone I've got what I need I'm satisfied without God just enough of God to make me appear spiritual whatever I still wear well holler after worship whatever I have to do to look spiritual that's all I want if I have to do my little dance to my little shout every fifth Sunday I'll do what I got to do I'll make it I'll do my little run around I'll do my little shake and my little wave and into everything I've gotta do to look spiritual but but don't make me to spiritual just enough of God to appear holy Oh show me your show me your ministry handbook but but I just want you to know what it where the line is I'm just gonna barely step over that line just stay in the choir gonna barely step over that line still that line to do whatever it is I do god help us to get that mentality out of our minds god I just don't want to barely slip through purely pearly gates huh with all my God when the trumpet sounds huh I don't want to just barely make it by God I want to get in and I want to get in so far and I want to get in so deep oh god help me just enough is not gonna do it for me the mana mentality is a lifestyle of complacency whatever you may be seated the lifestyle the mana mentality is a lifestyle of idleness whatever lifestyle of contentment yeah whatever it's a lifestyle of satisfaction I'm satisfied where I am don't mess with me don't talk to me he'll try to get me to do anything I don't want to do just leave me alone I'm happy I've got my mana I'm feeling for the day but God help us to break out of that mentality I'm sick and tired of not living up to my potential I'm sick and tired of not living up to my potential why am i selling for mana when God has promised me milk and honey listen this is as deep as this message is gonna get right here but if I could ever get through to somebody's mind as God got through to my mind and he's sort of saying Chad I'm sick and tired of you just do it enough to get by I'm singing it's how you're just doing enough to get by I didn't mean for you just to get by I wanted you to get in this thing with everything you have God told me such add I've given you the revelation of truth you've got full truth and I don't want this to be a proves in provision for you I don't want it to be temporal gratification for you I want you to go on ain't go farther than you've never talked I want you any spiritual more spiritual than you've ever been god help us we've got a pray more we got a pray more we got to study more we got to study more listen we got a break out of this whole morning devotion mentality now listen this I'm not cutting down if you post stuff on Twitter and post daily devotions I I promise you I'm not shooting at anybody today but I don't want my prayer life there turn into one of these morning devotions where they tell you how to have a good day on your iPhone app give you one verse of the day and you feel like you've done your duty for the Lord you picked up your manna for the day and read your verse it's gonna give you a victorious life today listen I'm sick and tired listen our Word of God was never meant to be something it was just a cutesy word of God that's gonna make you feel good about yourself but this was something that was going to teach us and train us and sometimes sometimes correct us sometimes correct us it's always gonna say things we like to read and like to hear but if we study at the Bible says we won't sin against God if we can hide his words in our heart we will not sin against God I don't want to settle for my prayer life I don't want to set up an assult 15 minute prayer life then it all it is is me going out and getting my manna for the day but God I want to be spiritual I want to feel you in my prayer life and I want you to know whatever it takes to have a breakthrough in your prayer this is something that God told me not too long ago I felt impressed he said you've got to do whatever it takes to break through every time you pray I got sick of kneeling down and going through my shopping list and going through my worship and getting up and not feeling anything I don't know about you maybe I'm the only one that does that maybe I'm the only one that sometimes I feel like there's a there's a ceiling between me and and God maybe I'm the only one that feels that way but sometimes I can pray before God and I can get up and think oh did I even get through didn't even hear what I said he God said you got to do whatever it takes to get through every time you pray if your breakthrough requires weeping well you better pray until you weep if your brain clear requires joy you better pray until you can't stop laughing if your breakthrough requires hearing from God I'm telling you you better pray until you hear a word from the Lord because one thing is for sure we cannot have no more time with this prayerful lessness going on god help me God help me to reach your throne every time I come on somebody I want to be spiritual I don't want to be some warm now I don't care about education and degrees I've got my own wedding I don't even care about all that what I want to be is I want a spiritual walk with God but you can't tell a spiritual walk with God being content to eat man God help us you made me see that God help us God help us God listen listen man and it was desire people tried to save it up people try to store it up people thought hey we might be able to make some kind of a profit off this stuff and they stored up this man and they brought it into their homes and the Bible said that overnight it bred worms and began to rot and it smelled bad I don't need any of those things that's not what I'm looking for manna manna is not the promise huh I don't want to day by day relationship with God I don't want something that I cannot invest in my future but I want a relationship that when I pray I can say God I might need you in two months from now god I need to take you I need to take you in right now because god I might have to use you later a little bit later on man it was God's good but it wasn't God's best God's best was a land flowing with milk our Tech's tonight open and Joshua chapter 5 and verse number 10 let's go back to read verse number one cuz I I want to make sure before this message is over then I can preach about the steps that the children of God took in order to break their mana mentality you see the mentality had been on the children of Israel for fourteen thousand six hundred and nine days that's somebody that's my days forty years is they ate manna for fourteen thousand six hundred and nine days so how did they break out look at verse one and it came to pass when all the kings of amirite which were on the side of the Jordan Westberg and all the kings of the Canaanites which were by the sea heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we were passed over and their heart melted neither was their spirit in them anymore here it is because of the children of Israel their faith put fear in the hearts of the enemy and so their faith in God did it caused other nations to fear their God their simple faith in their God my God our faith in God will cause our enemies hearts to melt the last thing the devil wants is for us to have faith in our God listen to me listen that was 40 years after 400 years of slavery they spent 40 years not quite sure if their god was able but one day they woke up and just decided we've got no other choice all we got to eat is manna we've got no other choice but to trust in this guy who brought us out in Egypt and so they follow a priest across the Jordan River and it dried up as they walked into the river and the people around them to notice because faith is what testimonies are made up now faith is the substance of things hoped for its the evidence of things not seen we know that Hebrews says without faith it is impossible to please God Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith Ephesians 2:8 for by grace are you saved through faith our faith in God is what puts fear into our enemy that was number 1 number 1 was the faith was so strong the people the way they got rid of their mentality of just enough that mentality of idleness is they started to have faith in their God and then number 2 they renewed their commitment to the covenant with God because in Joshua 5 and to look at 5 and 2 we read about how the past 40 years the covenant between man and God had not been kept the coda between man and God was that the man he is alive man would be circumcised and for forty years not one man had been circumcised the whole time they were eating manna not one man they were just I know spiritually and they were wandering physically they were idle spiritually and they were wandering physically not one of them kept their covenant with God so as they enter into Gilgal they renewed their commitment to the Covenant and every single male was circumcised then the Lord said to Joshua in verse number nine he said this day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day he said from this point forward Israel's self-image that they were just slaves and couldn't accomplish becoming a nation wasn't no longer hanging over their head because God rolled there away from them he roll away the reproach of Egypt from off them they were finally in a position to receive blessings that God had promised them for so long they finally believed that God was able they finally trusted that God would do and finally they came to the point of victory they're still gonna be battles and they're still gonna Giants are still gonna be walls but it was at this exact moment right before the manege rider right before they had faith enough to eat of the land of Canaan that not only did their faith put fear in the enemy and not only did they keep their covenant with their God but they began to say oh God since you've taken off this slave mentality from off our mines now we can do great and mighty things sometimes we just gotta believe in ourselves sometimes we just gotta believe this and there's a slave mentality it wants us to think that were not able that we're not good enough then we been oppressed for too long we've been suppressed down for too long and God has said I want to draw you up out of that and I want to roll off the reproach from off you so you don't have those thoughts about yourself anymore standing your feet tonight you see the children of God went from slave mentality to a mana mentality but then they caught on and they went to a milk and honey mentality the slave mentality simply just said we can't do it we're gonna die we have no hope we are as grasshoppers in our own eyes but they somehow graduated out of that because God gave them manna and then all the Sun they thought well we're good where we are everything is going good everything is comfortable where I'm at but then the milk and honey mentality is there's no giant that's too tall for the taller they are the harder they will fall the taller the wall the greater it's gonna fall and so Joshua chapter 5 and verse number 10 we open with this it's in the children of Israel in Campton Gilgal and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even the plains of Jericho and they did heat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the Passover unleavened cakes and parched corn the self-same day and the manna seats on the morrow after they had heat of the old court of the land neither had two children visual manner anymore but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year thank you Lord for providing the man Thank You law when I murmured and complain that you provided the man but Lord I don't want manna no I want the fruit of the land I want what you promised me now looky here Thank You uncle Kippy forgive me this bag because lord knows I couldn't afford anything to be in this bag right here but I'm sick and tired listen listen listen too many people that's a man have been fall down in my bank here too many people are settling for this right here when God is saying I've got something that will nourish you I got so I got some protein that'll help you build some muscle so that you can fight against that enemy I got something in this bag then it'll go to your mind and it'll it'll nurse your brain and they'll help you to think right it'll help you to have a positive way of life and we can't get so set upon the taste of a honey then we don't realize then it comes along with the prompts what comes along with the land flowing with milk and honey it's food that will not only sustain us but it's food it will take us to another level you see because of the side effects that come with this kind of food it's faith and strength and Trust and power and wisdom and I like those kind of side effects and Gilgal they're already in the plains of Jericho we know about the story of Joshua in the walls of Jericho just a matter of time to the tune of God began to conquer their promise begin to conquer their world so I have here inside of the land of promise you no longer have the mentality of mana where you're just collecting for you and yourself in your needs and your wants and your wishes but now when you're in the promised land now you have food that enriches you it allows you to start to reach your world around you it starts to help you to notice there's so much more going on than just right here but there's a world of people there's a world of lost people who are lost and dying in Africa in Asia in South America in Korea Oh oh my god in India in Pakistan in Iran in Arabia Yemen Ethiopia Kenya Tanzania and from eating the manna it was only good for one day it was only good to sustain you for that one day God gave them a food God gave them a land that they could conquer and because they conquered that land they formed a country and because they form a country and a people even today in Maryville Tennessee were still being blessed because of people didn't have a maniman County but they had a milk and honey mentality and they said we could go outside ourselves we can reach this world we can go into the lost in in the four corners of this world but it's all about breaking out of the mana mentality it's all about being sick and tired of living right here when you can have this right here sick and tired oh sick and tired of just going through the motions I'm just doing the least we can do to get by sick and tired of being content where we are I'm not happy where I am I want to be transparent to you tonight Church I don't ever want to be happy where I am I don't ever want to get to a place where I get enough of this then I can live a life and say hey I've got good enough I've got enough food to make it till tomorrow but I want to go for the milk and honey huh I want to conquer the land I believe that the name of Jesus should be heard in every land in every nation in every tongue I think over sister muscles testimony I think God did a little missionary went to Japan and left the Bible in a barber shop in a little eight-year-old girl oh Jesus Tennessee because a missionary was willing to go come on this is our mission service all day today we've been committing ourselves to support missionaries and the way that we're truly going to support missionaries is when we forget about self and start thinking about others we forget about what we can have and what falls out of heaven for us and we can start believe it there are cities that need to be conquered there are walls that are already built then we gotta live behind it build cities behind there's vineyards and already planted it god help us to break out of a mentality that says we're good enough and everything's okay and good is God good is not good enough God when you have promised us greatness I wish something is to lift up their hands right here and right now let's say God whatever you have for my life I don't want to be content where I'm at Lord I don't want to be content with my prayer life I don't want to be content Oh God with the way I read my Bible I don't want to be content with the amount of church attendance that I come to church on I don't want to be content with the marriage that I have I don't want to be content Oh God with my children or live it and what they're doing and how they're acted Oh God help me Lord God I don't want to be content not teaching Bible studies I don't want to be content not witnessing and not reaching out to people around me you gotta break through you gotta help break through the heart you gotta have a breakthrough in the mind if you want to break through I wish we just flood these altars and lift up hands and say God yeah I want to break
