Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Oh give thanks unto the Lord
- The redeemed of the Lord are to say so: to speak out and tell how he redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
- Redemption is not mere release; it is a price paid to buy back what was rightfully his.
- John saw the slain Lamb who has redeemed us to God by his blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
Scriptures: Psalm 107:1-2; Revelation 5:9
His mercy endureth forever
- The last days are marked by lovers of self who are unthankful; the redeemed can choose to be selfless and thankful instead.
- Mercy is compassion shown toward those within one's power to punish; his compassions fail not, and they are new every morning.
- He has not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
- God, who is rich in mercy, saved us not by works of righteousness which we have done, but by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Ghost.
Scriptures: 2 Timothy 3:1-2; Lamentations 3:22-23; Psalms (book-only, as spoken); Ephesians 2:4-5; Titus 3:5
Declare his works with rejoicing
- Men are called to praise the Lord for his goodness and declare his works with rejoicing, in the congregation of the people and in the assembly of the elders.
- The accuser of the brethren is cast down, and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
- The old songs keep the redeemed remembering their works of the Lord: he brought me up out of a horrible pit and set my feet upon a rock.
Scriptures: Psalm 107:21-22; Psalm 107:31-32; Revelation 12:9-11; Psalm 40:2-3; Psalm 77:11-12
God redeems the ones nobody expects
- David comforted the wife who had been the wife of Uriah; their son was named Solomon, and by the hand of Nathan the prophet he was named of the Lord beloved.
- The lineage of Christ runs through David and her that had been the wife of Uriah: God took a mistake and made something beautiful out of it.
- In Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, neither bond nor free, neither male nor female; the redeemed are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Scriptures: 2 Samuel 12:24-25; Matthew 1:1-6; Galatians 3:28-29
Redemption is in the house
- Hosea was sent to buy back his unfaithful wife at the auction block: a picture of a God who will not give up on his people.
- In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.
- The call closes in repentance and thanksgiving: let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
Scriptures: Ephesians 1:7

me tell you something we're here on Earth we're here in this world there's a lot of choices there's a lot of decisions to make I'm thankful to be in a church that makes good decisions because it has good leaders amen amen so thankful so thankful Psalm 107 And1 simply says this it says oh give thanks unto the Lord for he is good for his mercy endureth for forever for his mercy endureth forever now I don't know about you maybe you're not in need of his Mercy tonight but I need his Mercy every day every day I I hope what I what I preach tonight I'm going to read one more verse but I hope that what I preach tonight will get into your spirit like it got into my spirit and maybe listen if I preach this and it's just for me tonight you can Pat me on the back on the way out and say brother Ericson that was for you and I'll go home a better person but I believe that every one of us in this house needs the mercy of God because then it leads into verse two it says let the redeemed of the Lord say so whom hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy another translation says in Psalm 107:2 all of you set free by God you ought to tell the word world tell how he freed you from oppression another translation says has the Lord redeemed you then speak out tell others how he redeemed you from the enemy my message title is simply tonight say so come on somebody we got to say so we got to let words come out of our mouths we got to say something when we've been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb woo something inside of us has got to well up and say Lord I Thank you Lord for redeeming me Lord I give you thanks I give you praise because you're good your mercy is Everlasting come on somebody right now before we're seated just say God I thank you for Redemption H I thank you for a Redemptive plan I was lost in sin but just saw fit Lord to come and Redeem Me from my sin and from the enemy and because of that I clap my hands because of that I lift my voice because of that I come to church on a Sunday night and give my God praise wo because you're a redeemer because you're a redeemer Amen in Jesus name everyone said amen you may be seated in the house of the Lord come on anybody thankful for redemption in your life tonight come on anybody thankful for Redemption the Holy Ghost is here the Redeemer is in the house it feels like it feels like feels like Redemption oh Hallelujah you may be seated in Jesus name Redemption takes place when someone recovers a possession and pays the price for that possession Redemption is not just simply being set free from something it's not simply being delivered a lot of times we like to put those two together Redemption and deliverance but it's not the same thing Redemption is when you have to pay a price to get something back that was rightfully yours W anybody thankful for the Redeemer who shed his own blood oh come on think about this way back in the Garden of Eden pastor already kind of talked about it but way back in the Garden of Eden Adam made a mistake Eve made a mistake and we lost our relationship with our father we spiritually died in a redeemer a redeemer named Christ Jesus uh had to come and redeem us from our sin and bring us back into relationship with the father matter of fact John said in Revelation 59 speaking of Our Savior Jesus Christ he said you were slain and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and Nation I love this scripture that simply says let the redeemed of the Lord say so somebody ought to give God worship and give God praise when you think that a God loved us enough uh to come himself he did not send another person he didn't send somebody in his place uh there was not somebody lower and more insignificant than him that would come and die but he said I will come I will make myself into the creation that I created in order to save them from their sin we sing the old song Jesus Paid It all all to him I all sin had left a Crimson Stain but heed white as snow oh that song right there has a bridge it says oh praise the one who paid my debt and raises life up from the dead you know that one come on sing with me oh praise the one who paid my debt and raises a life of Raman a little louder oh praise the one who paid my debt and raises a life of oh I hear you choir I hear you we didn't practice that song but didn't that sounded good thank God for the blood woo thank God for the blood listen I just want to take just a few minutes I want to set a little Foundation before we preach tonight but a part of saying so is singing that's what the church that's what we do every song We Sing matter of fact we are singing songs tonight about the Redemption that we've experienced we were we were the the choir was leading Us in songs we sing songs about Redemption that's how we say so but look with me back in Psalm 107 in verse one the Bible says oh give thanks unto the Lord and I'm going to stop right here cuz first and foremost we must thank the Lord come on somebody we got to thank the Lord and I know in in the generation we're living in the society in the culture we're living in it's becoming a thankless culture matter of fact matter of fact second Timothy 3 Bible says this know also that in the last days perilous times shall come from men shall be lovers of their own selves Covetous boasters proud blasphemers Disobedience to parents and then it says they're going to be unthankful you better believe we're living in the last days that Paul was writing this letter to Timothy about we are living in a self centered Society oh yes we're a nation that believes we have the right to happiness and whatever makes us happy that's what we deserve oh come on somebody we're living in a generation today they're lovers of their own self they're unthankful because you can't be thankful and be selfish at the same time people people feel like they they deserve and like something is olded to them those people they can't be thankful they're always looking why why aren't I receiving what I ought to receive and why aren't you giving me the check that I ought to be given at the first of the month and why don't I get the Privileges that my neighbor has and and why aren you taxing him like you're taxing me listen we might be in this world but we do not have to be of this world we can choose to be selfless and we can choose to be thankful so in Psalm 107 when when David said oh give thanks unto the Lord here is why we do it for he is good woo God you've been so good I was in the prayer room before service tonight and tears came to my eyes when I thought about how good a father we have how good a father who loves us so much uh he is the Bible says rich in Mercy I'm going to read about it here in a minute but he's a good god he's a god whose Mercy the Bible says David said endureth for ever those two key words right there we can't skim over mercy and endure worth Mercy is compassion or forgiveness shown towards someone who it is within one's power to punish them but instead they give mercy and then endure simply means to tolerate aren't you aren't you glad you serve a God that tolerates you I'm thankful that God tolerates me oh brother Jeter I'm thankful that his Mercy oh I don't deserve it my God I don't deserve itth he tolerates me day in and day out uh I'm so thankful he forgives time and time again oh Lamentations 3 and22 says it is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not he says they are new every morning great is thy faithfulness come on somebody this is not just lyrics too a song Great Is Thy Faithfulness it's all about his Mercy that endureth it's all about the mercy that's fresh and new every morning every day that I wake up I I receive new Mercy oh I thank God for his Mercy it was David it was David that said the Lord is merciful and gracious uh slow to anger and plenteous in Mercy he will not always chide that means to rebuke he's not always going to rebuke neither will he keep his anger forever he hath not oh I like this right here he hath not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities we better be thankful that we don't serve a fair God if you've got kids you've heard it said a billion times that's not fair come on well now listen we're not allowed to say that in the home you know you don't say that around Mama Carpenter those words that's not fair who listen if we sered if we served a fair God that rewarded us what did he say right here he rewarded us according to our iniquities if he dealt with us after every one of our sins we would not be here today the Bible says David said we would be consumed but I thank God he is not a fair God our father is not fair and we ought to be thankful mostly for that tonight we serve a god that is not fair but he is merciful he is filled with grace uh and kindness and goodness uh every day of our life uh he pours out and rains down his grace and mercy Apostle Paul he wrote in Ephesians 2 and4 but God who is rich in Mercy you ever think about thato we talk about him having a cat having cattle on a thousand Hill and man Our God owns everything I'm thankful if if I'm thankful the most of anything that our God is rich in I'm thankful he's rich in Mercy brother Malone I can do without cattle and a thousand Hill but I cannot do without Mercy he's wealthy when it com comes to Mercy for his great love wherewith he loves us even when we were dead in sin he hath quickened us together with Grace or with Christ by grace are ye saved wo we're saved Titus oh Titus 3:5 here's Paul again not by works of righteousness which we have done no sir but according to his Mercy he saved us by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Ghost oh somebody give thanks unto the Lord for he is good for his mercy endureth forever I think we ought to take just a little praise break right here I hope you're getting I hope you're picking up what I'm dropping my God is filled with Mercy uh he's rich with Mercy uh his Mercy his grace uh his kindness his goodness his love is Everlasting and we thank God for it hallah let the redeemed of the Lord say so but then we go down to verse two I tell skip down to verse 21 I like this right here oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness and for his wonderful Works to the children of men and let them sacrifice the sacrifices of Thanksgiving and declare watch this right here declare his works with rejoicing that means you got to share your testimony with joy woo We Can't Stop sharing our testimony we can't keep it to ourselves I I know it might have been 20 years ago 30 years ago some of y'all 40 50 60 years ago but we can never get to the place where we forgot what we came out of and we forgot what God delivered us from and most of all how he purchased us and redeemed redeemed us back into his favor woo oh that men would praise what about verse 31 sounds a whole lot the same oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness and for his wonderful Works to the children of men here we go this is a little different let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people and praise him in the Assembly of the elders this is the act of praise and worship right here in a congregation I know sometimes I I know sometimes we we think of churches man I want to go to a church that oh they got good music and they got a good band and they got a good choir good worship team I I want to go to a church that has good singers and thank God for all of that but this is not just this is not some kind of a a worship concert that we have we have this every Sunday and every Wednesday we got Chapel service and we got rallies we got conferences we attend and what do we do in every single service we sing praises unto God and why do we sing praises unto God it's because we are proclaiming woo oh give thanks that the Lord he is good and then you got to keep on going and let the redeemed of the Lord say so we say so we praise God oh then men would praise him because we got to remember where we came from we got to share our testimony and we got to worship him with song Oh that men would praise the Lord the reason why our choir is so powerful is because we have over 150 testimonies saying so have you ever have you ever just just looked across the choir and I know a lot of you a lot of you know the backstories to a lot of the people that sing in that choir I'm talking back stories of healings Back stories of Deliverance some some people got some people got left some people got went through some horrible divorces and went through some horrible things in their life and had people in their lives pass away and you see them chair after chair singer after singer and when you look up there when they start singing and saying so what they're doing is they're testifying together and saying Look What the Lord Has Done Look What the Lord Has Done some of they say saying he healed my body someone saying he touched my mind everybody's saying he Save Me Just in Time come on let the redeemed of the Lord say so oh I feel the holy ghost coming on right here let the redeemed no no no Listen Hold on hold you may be seated I don't I I don't want to put a negative on what I'm preaching but some people might read that to say let the redeemed of the Lord say so and the reason brother Andrew said I can preach this is because I also lead worship and I've got a front row seat to see how some people worship so some people are like man I tell you brother Ericson I wish he would stop saying lift your hand hands and clap your hands and wave your hands and you know why I say it because it's not happening and I'm trying to stir some as a worship leader I'm trying to stir something up because I understand that if I could get somebody's hand up I know you've had a bad day I know it's it might be a Wednesday night you've worked for 10 hours I know you barely got here you you didn't have time even to brush your teeth but I I'm just intelligent enough to know and I've seen it happen time after time that if I can get your hand up to where something you feel something happening in the atmosphere and and that little bit of Holy Ghost o I just felt something in the back of my neck just I felt some bumps just raised up on my arm if I if I can get somebody to clap their hands enough so that you can so the the voice of the enemy can't be heard in your life because you're Clapping Your Hands So Hard have you ever wondered why the verse says clap your hands and shout unto God cuz sometimes you got to drown out the voice of the enemy that wants to get inside of your head and tell you just to sit there let the redeemed of the Lord say so oh no let the redeemed of the Lord say so oh come on now listen I I I realize I realize that I've been I've been studying this for about four days now I've been working on this and I've been working on Redemption I've been studying Redemption I've been studying why we're redeemed and how we're redeemed and how we response to the redeem and I know you haven't been working on this for 4 days so I know some of you I got to kind of warm up I got to get warmed up some of you just looking at me like yeah Redemption okay okay blood of Jesus okay and here's a problem because some some of us have been desensitized because Hollywood has made gruesome blood and blood splattering a part of every movie and every video game stuff we shouldn't be watching and shouldn't be playing anyways but Hollywood and and all these all these creators have have created scenes with all this blood in Gore so when we start singing and preaching about the blood of Jesus it's just kind of like so we're used to seeing that but you got to understand at the time when Jesus when his blood was shed the only blood that was being shed was on an altar a Brazen altar where blood where where animals were sacrificed and blood was shed and blood splattered it was a messy and gory thing so when when days of old when they began to sing about the blood of Jesus uh they weren't thinking about the latest Hollywood show they weren't thinking about the latest video game they were thinking oh my God you would care enough about me to shed your blood just for me even when I was dead in sin you thought it was worth oh my God you thought I was worth it that you would die on a cross uh that you would go to a whipping post just for me I'm talking about Redemption I'm talking about a God who loves us so much uh a God who took on flesh uh a God who was tempted in every way uh a God who suffered he felt the oppression he felt a depression Spirit trying to get on him but he overcame it just so he could go to a cross let me tell you about David how David the writer the writer of the psalm that I am using as my text if anybody understood the importance of saying so David understood because he was a major recipient of God's mercy there was a good reason why David was a worshipper like he was David understood that if God's Redemptive Mercy uh is not sang about uh and celebrated and praised uh it will soon become abused and misused if we don't learn how to say so that gives the enemy a place to speak because the Devil's weapon is against our mind and to try to convince us that we are not worthy I said we are not worthy of redemption Bible calls Satan accuser of the Brethren he's not an accuser of The Sinner he doesn't spend time in Washington DC accusing politicians he's not in the political world accusing he's not in Hollywood he's not in the entertainment business he doesn't care about them he's already got them he spends his time at the church Revelations 129 says and the Great Dragon was cast out that old serpent called the devil Satan which deceiveth the whole world he was cast out into the Earth and his angels were cast out with him that's his past but then it begins to prophesy about his future verse 10 and I heard heard a loud voice saying in heaven now is come salvation and strength and the kingdom of our God and the power of His Christ for the accuser of the Brethren is cast down which accus them before our God day and night woo watch this right here and they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb that's Redemption and by the word of their testimony let the redeemed of the Lord say so you ought to speak about Redemption you ought to sing about Redemption we got to fill the airwaves with praise about the Redemption let me tell you something whatever Airwaves we don't F the enemy will f for us you may be seeing you better believe it any air wve woo my wife wrote a song called your voices bigger and it's just a song about the enemy wants to start talking and you start hearing voices sometimes and you you wonder is what I'm hearing true but then a bigger voice a stronger voice a voice with authority begins to speak in your ear and say oh that's not my words that you're hearing those are not my ideas that you're hearing those are not my thoughts that I'm giving but then God begins to speak into our life but it all comes when we allow when we allow the presence of God to overtake us and the presence of God overtakes us when we begin to give him praise uh for what he has done in our life but maybe somebody is here tonight maybe you're redeemed but you're struggling with your past and I want you to notice this I begin to read in 2 Samuel chapter 11 we don't have time to read it but it's a story of Beth Sheba Beth Sheba she's on her rooftop she's she's bathing and of course there's nothing wrong with that unless she knows the King has a clear view and then all of a sudden we have a woman that's lascivious and David calls for her and BBA comes you know the story comes and and they spend the night together and adultery takes place and her husband yah he's out on the battlefield fighting but oh his wife becomes pregnant and now sin and and this is how sin oh this is where sin will take you sin has to be covered up Beth Sheba marries the man that has her husband killed on the front line of the battle the very same man already said to wrote this Psalm of mercy and Redemption that we've been reading and preaching tonight oh but just in case Satan has tried to convince you that you aren't worthy of grace and mercy and Redemption I want you to see how God redeems an adulteress and a murderer because look with me in 2 Samuel 12: 24 I do want to read this because it's very important that you see David comforted basba his wife and went unto her and lay with her and she bear a son and he David called his name Solomon and the Lord loved him now this is not from the adultist relationship this is later they're married now and now they have a son named Solomon and David called call him Solomon the lord loves him but look at verse 25 and he sent by the hand of Nathan the prophet and he called his name Jedediah because of the Lord David calls him Solomon which means peace but God names him jedadiah which means beloved of the Lord so BBA this adulteress she becomes in the lineage of the Redeemer think about this right here listen God can use anybody he wants to use so many times oh so many times we think that God all uses the biggest the best the greatest the strongest the tallest but that's not the case because most of the time in the word of God most of the time from story to story whether it's Old Testament or new testament God uses the person who you would least expect him to use and so here here we go Matthew 1 And1 records the lineage of Christ and it says the book of the generations of Jesus Christ the son of David I I like that already the son of Abraham son of David Son of Abraham here we go Abraham begat Isaac Isaac begat Jacob Jacob begat Judas and his Brethren Judas begat feris Zara famar feris begat esam esram begat Aram Aram begat em aminadab there it is aminadab begat Nan and Nan begat salon and Salon begat Boaz of roab and boas begat obit of Ruth and Obed begat Jesse and Jesse begat David the king and the King David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Uriah look right here God took a mistake and made something beautiful out of it God allowed the Redeemer to be born in the bloodline of a man and a woman that needed Redemption from David the murderer and the former adulterous wife of uas was born the Son of God God did you read Matthew it said the son of David and the son of Abraham oh do you believe tonight that your sin in your past is far too great for God to redeem I've just come to tell somebody that the lineage of Christ bash Sheba is not mentioned only that she's the wife of Uriah why did God do that because God wanted to make sure that history recorded that he could turn a mistake into a miracle somebody here tonight you've been fighting with voices in your head I feel the Holy Ghost speaking to me right now you've been fighting with lies the devil is a liar you been fighting against lies that are telling you you're not worthy of redemption you've done too much you've gone too far you've done stuff that nobody would believe you've done but I'm here to tell you there's a redeemer in the house and he's going to make he's going to make your mistake into a miracle let the redeemed of the Lord say so let the redeemed of the Lord say so anybody that's not worshiping right here must be somebody that did not need Redemption but if you needed redemption in your life and you still need Redemption you ought to be worshiping right now let the redeemed of the Lord say so I'm not looking for a response to my preaching I'm simply saying if you're redeemed you want to be worshiping God right now and giving him thanks let the redeemed of the Lord say so let the redeemed of the Lord Lord say so come on the only way to keep me from Forgetting what God has brought me out of uh is I've got to keep on singing songs about what God brought me out of and what he took me through it was Moses it was the singer Moses and the singer Mariam that got together and led a choir after they gotten through the Red Sea after over 400 years of bondage the Redeemer bought him back the Redeemer bought him back and said I'm going to deliver you out I'm going to bring you into a land that flows with milk and honey I'm going to take you to the same promised land that I promised to Abraham Isaac and Jacob oh but here it is oh I'm thankful because Redemption gives us value come on think about this right here anybody that feels like you're lacking value God doesn't care about me God doesn't care about little old me oh that's why we got to sing a song of the redeemed we sing a song around here called worth you thought I was worth saving so you came and changed my life you thought I was worth keeping so you clean me up inside you thought I was to die for so you sacrificed your life so I could be free so I could be whole so I could tell everyone I know come on that goes along well let the redeemed of the Lord say so we got to tell everybody think about what would happen to this church if every person got to thinking back over their life and thought about what God has brought you through and I know a lot of us we we've never been in drugs we've never been in alcohol we've never been in all these worldly sins I I didn't go to frat parties and I wasn't in a sorority fraternity whatever I don't even know the difference I wasn't a part of any of that but I can simply say God has kept me from so much I've got a testimony I've got a testimony when I look back over from my life and I think things over I can truly say he's brought me all the way I've got a testimon I wish somebody would say so in this house tonight I know I keep on preaching that because I feel like I'm not getting through to everybody how is somebody that's been redeemed would say so Holy Ghost is in this place uh the Redeemer is in this place tonight I don't want to move too quickly he's in the house he loves you he cares about you his thoughts are towards you for an expected end the entire Old Testament is a story of redemption the first patriarch a Abraham why was he chosen to be called out of the land it's simple because he was the one the Redeemer was going to come out of his allins the Bible's not just a bunch of good stories that somehow formulate together in the New Testament and we kind of read the lineage of Christ and we're like oh Ruth I just thought that was a good story she's and no no no no everything you read in the Old Testament it's taking you to the Redeemer it's the bloodline getting us to the Redeemer why is that well it's it's simple I already said it in the garden Adam messed up a redeemer there had to be a second Adam who wouldn't mess up however once the Redeemer came and did the job of redemption now we have a nation see see God called a people under himself a lot of people want to read the Bible and as they read it they want to look in and say my man it just just seems like it just seems like the God's only for the Hebrews it wasn't that at all it was that he called a nation to himself that his bloodline would go through and he watched over that Nation there was good times there was many more bad times there would be a few years of living good and living prosperous and having the favor of God and there would be Decades of messing up being in captivity Egypt and Babylon and being taken things torn down and burned temples falling but then when the Redeemer finally came from the Redemption on the cross now we live in the New Testament dispensation of Grace and everyone can be saved everyone can be redeemed every color every race every nationality every language both genders notice I didn't say every gender because there's only two Galatians 3:28 there is neither Jew nor Greek there is neither Bond nor free there is neither male nor female well there they are right there for you are all one in Christ Jesus and if you be christs then are you he Abraham's seed woo and hirs according to the promise now listen a preacher came through here and preached a a masterpiece years ago a few years back and he began to tell us he began to tell us that he was just tired of hearing songs about coming out of graves songs about being resurrected from the dead songs about being delivered and chains falling off and he said I wish there was more songs about heaven and I agree because you know what I I'm thankful for songs that tell us where we're going I I like to see Heaven on view but God forbid brother AMS that we ever forget where we came from because if we ever look back over our life and forget oh my God the reason why every other song We sing around here is about Breaking Chains and Jericho walls falling and raising up out of the Grave if if he came out of the Grave I I'm I'm me too me too lord it's why why is that because we got to keep on rehearsing woo I've been redeemed I've been redeemed I've been redeemed I've been redeemed two things happen when the redeemed of the Lord say so it reminds us to never never go back to where we came from and it also gives others hope that are living where we used to live that they can get out to you can be free you can be set free too you can be delivered too yes we're going to heaven yes I'm looking forward to pearly gates and streets of gold yes yes yes but I also got to remember that I'm walking this road to glory and is the best life I could ever live wo sister Lori Hawkins sings I choose the be a Christian I choose to live like him nobody's making me do itth this is how I want to live you decide for you and I'll decide for me but the choice is mine I'm living the best life right now woo I'm almost done I'm almost done you may be SE this Psalm 40 and two he brought me up also out of a horrible pit out of the M clay I just go and tell you this is a song right here and set my feet upon a rock and established my goings uh and he hath put a new song in my mouth uh even praise unto God we grew up singing he brought me out of the Mary clay he set my feet on a rock to stay he put a song in my soul today a song of praise you thought somebody wrote that David wrote that Psalm 7711 I'll give you another song it says I'll remember the works of the Lord surely I'll remember the wonders of old I will meditate also of all thy works and talk of thy doings Jesus I'll never forget what he's done for me Jesus I'll never forget how you set me free Jesus I'll never forget how you brought me out Jesus I'll never forget no never come on some of y'all like come what are these songs these are the old songs listen these are the songs that brought us to where we are today and these are songs if we stop singing we're going to stop remembering what God has brought us out of oh Sho listen the opposite of redemption is bondage that's tell you how much Jesus cares about you he showed us in the Old Testament there was a prophet Hosea and God told him said I I want you to marry a woman that is of ill repute just come on bring this come on we got to bring this and modernize this to where we're living today he said I want you to marry the loosest street walkest woman in the town Gomer she didn't didn't even have a pretty name and I guar I listen I guarantee the prophet said oh God he said I want you to marry her for the express reason is I'm going to have her leave you the prophet said okay here we go if you say so he marries her can you imagine how humbling that must have been everybody in the city everybody in the town everybody in the everybody looking at the prophet saying my God are you living under a rock don't you know what kind of woman that is and here here's here's the interesting thing and this was all part of the plan they come together in marriage and have three children and everything seems to be going great and don't fact check me on this because it's said not in my notes I just read it the other day I think they have three if it's I'm not mistaken three children and everything is going great and she goes back to her old lifestyle and she becomes kind of like on an auction block like we would think of like slavery where where they would buy and the highest bidder would would would win in in the old in the old days of slavery and it's kind of like this because this is how they did with these women with these women of ill repute of these of these of these prostitute women and here we have the prophet and he comes and he shows up in the crowd which is already you got to oh how hum 18 as here he is and he's standing and she's up on the auction block and they begin to to bid her out to the highest bidder and there he's looking at her thinking oh my God he's the she's the mother of my three children everybody's looking at me everybody's wondering why I'm here everybody's wondering why don't you just leave this woman why don't you forget brother the de se why don't you just forget about this horrible woman don't you know where she's been the last five nights what are you doing even in the crowd you ought to write her off go marry go marry you a good woman but God told him said you Prophet are going to be the highest bidder I don't care what you got to sell I don't care what you got to bring to the auction block but you're going to be the highest bidder and sure enough as the bids were going he kept on Propet kept on raising his hand and they kept on going there's a bitter there here's a bitter here oh back to the Prophet The Prophet bids another one bids here and then the prophet bids soul to the prophet and God was simply wanting his people to understand oh you have forsaken me and you've gone off into all kinds of Idols all kinds of sin you worshiped baale and Asher off and all these horrible sex Gods you've gone into reputable sin but I still love you and you're still worth being purchased and you're still worth being redeemed I'm here to tell somebody here tonight your God loves you so much uh you couldn't do enough uh you couldn't be enough uh you couldn't fail enough uh for your God to say I give up on you but I already preached it his Mercy is Everlasting his goodness his kindness his grace thank you Jesus you're the Redeemer and you've prayer that says oh God oh God I'm not good enough not a prayer that says oh God I'm not worthy but I just want you to start giving God thanks uh thank you Jesus uh for showing us a prophet uh who you sent to buy back his life uh because oh god you bought the church with your own blood you shed blood you took on a catam N Tails oh my God you loved us enough Stripes upon your back a crown of thorns upon your head people spat upon you and plucked your beard out of your face people mocked you and made fun of you but you said you're worth it to me come on is there is there a song of Thanksgiving in
